I am satisfied with the help that the customer service assisted me with and that was getting my service moved up to September 26th from the original date of October 30th. But I am not satisfied with the remedy. I have received several written letters from Lincoln that go into detail of the recall on my car and as well they say and in BIG RED LETTERS ..DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR UNTIL REPAIRS ARE DONE. WELL, I should say that you see my 2010 Lincoln Mkx is my and only vehicle I own I can not just park it up and forget I have a life and a job because of no fault of my own that my one and only car urgently is needing repair to the factory installed air bags. Therefore I ask Lincoln to assist me with a rental until my car had been repaired. I do not feel safe DRIVING MY CAR.Letter's I have on hand from Lincoln plainly stating DO NOT DRIVE. I am upset Lincoln ortrays they care so much to bombard me with all the recall letters and such but pretty much told me NO WE DONT DO RENTAL CARS So what I am to do??? I don't have rental coverage on my insurance. I couldn't afford it. So what choice do I have??? If I do die from their faulty air bags imploding on me atleast make sure my children and grandchildren knew I begged for a rental but Lincoln couldn't back me with that. I guess making luxury car's for so many years has not left them with much profit Seeing as how in a life or death situation brought on by their mistake they leave their customers to chance it because it cost to much for rentals to ensure their customers are kept safe until their car is serviced and safe to drive. They have no compassion for people is how I am feeling about this whole situation. Only covering themselves legally in the cheapest fix possible to avoid legal issues. Guess Lincoln owners are just numbers and dollar signs and not mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunt or uncles or grandparents that are loved and would be missed severely in the event of their death by a recalled air bag.

My car was t-boned and pushed into oncoming traffic. I was knocked unconscious by air bag deployment and it caused brain injury, damage to my breast.

O.C. Welch Ford-Lincoln of Hardeeville, SC 29927 has not completed the safety recall on the airbags for the 2010 Ford Lincoln MKX. After trying to get them to repair the airbags for over a year, they finally fixed the passenger side airbag. They originally stated they had the parts to fix driver's side, but told us they were on back-order. They said they would get in touch with us once the parts came in. It has been over 5 months and we have not heard anything from them in regards to fixing the driver's side airbag.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owned a 2010 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH and crossing an intersection, another vehicle crashed into the passenger’s side of the vehicle and pushed the vehicle into oncoming traffic. As a result, another vehicle crashed into the driver’s side of the vehicle. The contact was knocked out unconscious. The contact was later informed that the driver’s side air bag had exploded and projected sharp fragments that caused injuries to her body. The contact was transported to the hospital with the assistance of emergency units. The contact was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma on both sides of the brain, six broken ribs, bruised sternum, subdural hematoma on the right breast, knee injuries, neck stenosis, bruises on the ankle, and on the entire right side of the body. Additionally, the contact sustain brain hemorrhage that required brain surgery. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000. The contact stated that the passenger side airbags were replaced. While waiting for the parts to replace the driver side airbags, the accident occurred and caused harm to the contact.

Brakes are extremely hard to use, takes both feet to stop vehicle, once stopped the engine will stall while brake is touched, must put vehicle in park when stopped.

The brake pedal is very difficult to depress. You have to push very hard for the car to come to a stop. The brakes do not work correctly causing not stopping when pressed. Safety issue for myself and others on the road. My car now has 122,890 miles on it. There was a recall that expired 2015. Never repaired under the recall, before I took ownership.

I was driving my 2010 Lincoln MKX in heavy traffic when the signal light turned red. When I pushed the brake to stop it was very stiff and I almost hit another vehicle. I could have been seriously injured if I had it another car because there is another safety recall on this vehicle relating to the driver airbag spewing shrapnel in a front end collision. I have had the recall notice regarding the air bag for almost a year already. Ford motor company deemed my vehicle safe to drive with this airbag issue. As it turns out, the brake booster bladder has a tear in it. I purchased the vehicle in 2020 and never was never sent a recall notice on the brake booster even though Ford Motor Company knew about it. According to what I have read online, Ford Motor decided that the recall was only good for a specific amount of time. How can that possibly be the case. This is a safety issue that should be covered for the life of the vehicle. Someone needs to do something about this before someone is seriously injured or killed.

STARTING IN EARLY FALL 2019, MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH BREAKS, REPLACED ALL PADS & ROTORS NOW X 2. BREAK PEDDLE HAS INTERMITTENT SPONGY FEEL- ISN'T CONSISTENT PRESSURE, SOMETIMES IS SUPER HARD TO PRESS DOWN, OTHER TIMES PRESS IT FOR A LONG TIME AND THE VEHICLE ISN'T STOPPING. PEDDLE MAKES A HISS NOISE AND SOMETIMES STRANGE CLICKS WITH VERY INCONSISTENT PRESSURE. RE- REPLACED ALL BREAK PADS AGAIN 2/24/20, OUR MECHANIC NOTIFIED US ITS THE BREAK BOOSTER PART FAILURE. THIS IS KNOWN YEAR AND PART FAILURE FOR OUR MKX. I'VE CALLED LINCOLN. THEY REFUSE TO OFFER US THE EXTENDED WARRANTY REPAIR UPFRONT, EVEN THOUGH WE'VE PAID FOR BREAKS X2 IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. THIS IRREGULAR BRAKE PEDDLE PROBLEM OCCURS ON ALL ROADS FREEWAY/ SIDE STREETS. OUR VEHICLE HAS 100K MILES ON IT, WELL UNDER THEIR 150K MILE WARRANTY FOR THIS PART AND IS 10 YEARS. LINCOLN WE'D HAVE TO SUBMIT THE RECEIPT AND MAYBE THEN OUR VIN WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL WARRANTY AFTERWARD. I FEEL THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND OUR FAMILY IS EXTREMELY JEOPARDIZED AND LINCOLN IS TRYING TO AVOID RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THIS KNOWN PART FAILURE AT ANY LENGTH. The front seat when we had to come to a stop the seat bounced forward and then back. Very dangerous. This should be a recall. I have many read letters of this happening for many others. It is an accident waiting to happen.

FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS, MY DRIVER'S SEAT HAS MADE A METAL ON METAL LOUD SLIPPING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS AND BRAKING. THE DEALER ADVISED ME (OUT OF WARRANTY) THAT IT WAS A BROKEN SEAT TRACK AND IS COMMON OCCURRENCE. I LIVED WITH THE ANNOYANCE, BUT IT HAS RECENTLY TURNED MUCH WORSE ALLOWING THE SEAT TO MOVE A GREATER DISTANCE AND MORE FREQUENT. I AM AFRAID THE SEAT WILL COME APART OR NOT WITHHOLD IN AN ACCIDENT. THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SEATS TILT BACKWARDS DURING ACCELERATION (USUALLY HARD START). THE SEATS WOULD ALSO TILT FORWARD ON HARD BRAKING. AFTER SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND A LOT OF FORD AND LINCOLN OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ISSUE ON BOTH LOW AND HIGH MILEAGE CARS. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL LINCON MKX AND FORD EDGE. IT SEEMS FROM THE COMMENTS ON VARIOUS ONLINE FORUMS THE PROBLEM IS MORE COMMON IN CARS WITH POWER SEATS. I AM AFRAID THAT WITH THE "PLAY" IN THE SEAT TRACKS, THE CAR WOULD BECOME UNSAFE DURING AN ACCIDENT. IT SEEMS SOME FORD DEALERSHIP ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE ALREADY AND CONSIDER IT "NORMAL" BEHAVIOR, SOME ARE FIXING IT UNDER WARRANTY. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE TO PRESENT THIS ISSUE, BUT WILL EXPLAIN MY CONCERN HERE. I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE LOCATION OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT LOCATION IN MY LINCOLN MKX. I AM 6'2" TALL AND HAVE LONG LEGS. I HAVE HAD A KNEE REPLACEMENT WHICH LEFT ME WITH REDUCED RANGE OF MOTION IN MY LEG. MY ISSUE IS THAT I CANNOT STRAIGHTEN MY LEG OUT ENOUGH TO BE COMFORTABLE WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE LIMITED REARWARD MOTION OF THE SEAT. IN SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, HE SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT FORD/LINCOLN DIRECTLY. IN DOING SO, THEY ADVISED THAT CONTACT YOU PEOPLE AT THIS E-MAIL ADDRESS. IT IS MY INTENTION TO POINT OUT THIS MATTER TO YOU AND SEEK SOME ADVICE AND DIRECTION. MY PROPOSAL IS TO RAISE THE SEAT HEIGHT APPROXIMATELY 3" AND ADD A PIECE OF FLAT METAL UNDER THE SEAT TRACK WHICH COULD BE REDRILLED TO ALLOW THE SEAT TO MOVE REARWARD APPROXIMATELY 3+". THESE MODIFICATIONS WOULD USE THE SAME HOLES IN THE SEAT TRACK AND THE ATTACHMENT LOCATIONS IN THE FLOOR THAT EXIST NOW. ANY REPLACEMENT BOLTS THAT WOULD BE USED WOULD OF EQUAL GRADE OF THE ORIGINAL BOLTS. THIS MODIFICATION WOULD ALLOW ME TO SIT HIGHER AND FURTHER BACK FROM THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS WHILE ALLOWING MY LEG TO BE STRAIGHTER, THEREFORE MORE COMFORTABLE. I HAVE SEEN THIS TYPE OF MODIFICATION DONE ON OTHER VEHICLES AND IT WORKS. IF DONE PROPERLY IT WOULD NOT ALTER THE LEVEL OF SAFETY IN THE VEHICLE. PTU (POWER TRANSFER UNIT) WHICH IS A NONSERVISABLE UNIT FAILS AND HAS BEEN ON NUMEROUS VEHICLES. THIS FAILUR HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT DUE TO IT POSSIBLY LOCKING UP AND CAUSING A VEHICLE LOSE OF CONTROL. THE LINCOLN IN QUESTION BELONG TO MY WIFE WHO IS THE TITLE HOLDER OF THE CAR. I WAS USING MY WIFE'S CAR ON 06/14/2018 AND WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING AREA AT UNION AND LIBERTY STREET IN MILFORD, MI,I CAME TO THE STREET AT THE END OF THE PARKING AREA, I PUSHED THE BREAK TO STOP SO THAT I COULD CONTINUE ONTO UNION STREET AS SOON I APPLIED THE BREAK, THE CAR ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEED BACKWARD AND EVEN THOUGH I WAS PRESSING THE BREAK IT DIDN'T STOP UNTIL CRASHING INTO A HOME NEXT TO THE PARKING AREA. THE SPEED OF ACCELERATION WAS SO INTENSE THAT FROM START TO FINISH IT WAS OVER IN A MATTER OF SECONDS.I WAS SO SHOOK UP THAT THAT MY MIND WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPUTE WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. THE CAR WAS DAMAGED ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE CAR, BUT IT TOOK OUT PORCH AND THE WINDOW AREA OF THE HOUSE.THE CAR SHOWED NO DAMAGE THAT WOULD PREVENT IT FROM BEING ABLE TO DRIVE, YET WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE A FEW BLOCKS TO MY HOME, THE POWER STEERING WASN'T WORKING AND THE CAR KEPT STEERING TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that the headlights failed to illuminate as needed. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the headlight bulbs and wires; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, who diagnosed that the headlight wiring harness kept disconnecting. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, the contact was not able to speak to a live representative. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.

DRIVING AT NIGHT HEADLIGHTS STARTED TO FLICKER AND THEN WENT OUT. 1ST LEFT SIDE THEN RIGHT SIDE. SOLDER CONNECTING HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY TO ELECTRICAL WIRING DISSOLVED. PER FORD DEALERSHIP THE SOLDER IS DISSOLVING BECAUSE THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITRY IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY OVERHEATED CAUSING THE SOLDER CONNECTION TO FAIL. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TWO TIME THE DEALERSHIP RE-SOLDERED THE CONNECTION. THE THIRD TIME THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH A NEW ER HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH UPDATED INTERNAL CIRCUITRY FROM MY CONVERSATION WITH THE FORD DEALERSHIP THIS HAD HAPPEN IN THE HIGHER END MODELS OF THE LINCOLNS THAT ARE A FEW YEARS OLD. WHY DID I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO HAPPEN THREE TIMES BEFORE THEY TOLD ME IT IS AN INTERNAL DESIGN DEFECT OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY FOR BOTH SIDES IS AROUND $2,300. I GOT CAUGHT WITH THIS TWICE LATE AT NIGHT, I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE HEADLIGHT BULBS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS STILL RELATIVELY CLOSE TO HOME, AND NOT HALFWAY INTO MY 180 TRIP I WAS STARTING OUT ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO VERIFIED THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ENGINE TEMPERATURE SUDDENLY SPIKED AND THE ON-BOARD COMPUTER SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL HIGHWAY. SPEED ABOUT 45 MPH AND WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SHOULDER. OPENED HOOD AND FOUND THE COOLANT RESERVOIR EMPTY SO ADDED WATER AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE THREE MILES TO HOME. ADDED ADDITIONAL COOLANT BUT SHORTLY THEREAFTER (5 - 7 MILES OF DRIVING) THE ENGINE STARTED TO RUN ROUGH AND ENDED UP HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO THE LINCOLN/FORD DEALERSHIP.THE DEALER REPORTS THAT THE WATER PUMP WHICH IS INTERANAQL HAS FAILED RESULTING IN COOLANT AND DEBRIS ENTERING THE CRANKCASE AND CONTAMINATING THE ENGINE OIL. ON-LINE RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP ESTIMATES THAT THE REPAIR COST WILL BE $3,100.00 BUT THIS IS FOR THE WATER PUMP AND MOTOR OIL ONLY AND DOES NOT ADDRESS ANY ABRASION OR DAMAGE TO THE CAM SHAFT.

Later, while refueling, gasoline was spilling from the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the fuel tank seam weld had corroded, and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the corrosion preventative solution was applied to the fuel tank, but the failure occurred. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65,000.

The contact pulled over on the side of the road and examined the tires and notice that the tires were fine. The contact drove the vehicle home and examined under the vehicle and notice that the fuel tank was felling due to corrosion under the vehicle. I was Driving in my 2010 Lincoln MKX January 16,2023 and the front sunroof exploded i hear a loud sound but when I looked up the front sunroof shattered, it all most caused me to have a car accident but I maintain and pull over to the side road. I really think that the manufacture done properly on the sunroof I was not using the sunroof because it’s cold outside !

THE VEHICLE WAS IN OUR GARAGE WITH THE DOOR CLOSED AND THE REAR HATCH WINDOW SHATTERED. THE WINDOW IS COMPLETELY SHATTERED WITH TWO SOFTBALL SIZED HOLES WHERE THE GLASS WAS BLOWN OUT ONTO THE GARAGE FLOOR. NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR NOR THE GARAGE WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND THERE WERE NO ITEMS IN THE CAR THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE DAMAGE. WE HAVE NOT MOVED THE VEHICLE HOPING LINCOLN WOULD CARE ENOUGH TO COME AND SEE WHAT HAS HAPPENED. THEY TOLD US THEY WOULD NOT SEND ANYONE TO VIEW THE WINDOW. First it was the alarm system it would lock me out the car. Then it was the air conditioning it would only turn on when it wanted too. Then I would press the seat cooler and it malfunctioned and I had a second degree burn on my lower back. Then the check engine light came on and it started to overheat. I pulled over turned off the ignition and the car was still running. That happened twice my mechanic would come turn the car off even by disconnecting the battery the car was still on somehow he had to disconnect another part for car to turn off. He told me not move it anymore. 15 to 20 minutes later the car was on fire and the fire department came and turned it off. I bought the car on 4/24/2021 and it was on fire on 05/27/2021.

HOWEVER, MY GAS IS TERRIBLE AND THE CAR ACTS LIKE IT IS GOING TO LOOSE POWER AS THE GAS ISN'T GETTING A FULL LINE TO GO THROUGH. I HAVEN'T HAD THIS PROBLEM UNTIL 2-3 MONTHS AGO. THE PARKING BRAKE ON MY LINCOLN MKX WILL NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE ON A SLOPE. THE DEALER AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY SAY THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. ACCORDING TO THEM, THE BRAKE IS DESIGNED TO FUNCTION WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS IN PARK. USING THE TRANSMISSION TO HOLD THE CAR DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE FEDERAL REGULATIONS FOR PARKING BRAKES WHICH ARE QUITE CLEAR. THE REGS STATE THAT: "EVERY COMBINATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM ADEQUATE TO HOLD THE VEHICLE OR COMBINATION ON ANY GRADE ON WHICH IT IS OPERATED, UNDER ANY CONDITION OF LOADING IN WHICH IT IS FOUND ON A PUBLIC ROAD (FREE OF ICE AND SNOW)."
