The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that while the husband was driving approximately 50 mph a 2nd vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle. During the crash, the front driver side seat belt failed and did not secure the driver and the driver side air bag did not deploy. The driver sustained fractured sternum, chest, head, neck, and back injuries and was transported to the local hospital. A police report was filed at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failures was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 130,000.

My brakes will go out for no reason. Also, my electrical system (dashboard) will freeze up for no apparent reason. I have taken it to the Ford dealership numerous times, but I was told neither was a recall issue and they could not help me unless it happened when they could actually "see" it happen. Yes. They said that.

VEHICLE HAS LESS THAT 50K MILES AND RARELY DRIVEN. THREE DIFFERENT INSTANCES OF THE BRAKES FAILING WITH THE PEDAL BEING PUSHED GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE AN ISSUE WITH A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER (RECALLL 13N02). SYMPTOMS OF "SPONGY BRAKES" ALWAYS PRESENT. OTHER BRAKE COMPONENTS WERE CHECKED AND VERIFIED TO BE OPERATIONAL. DEALER INDICATED THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL NOT BE FIXED BECAUSE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. YET I HAVE A DANGEROUS VEHICLE THAT I AM EXPECTED TO PAY FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

FIRST OF ALL, I HAVE ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR ONE YEAR. DURING THIS YEAR MY CAR IS ON ITS THIRD TIME LOOSING ITS BRAKES. ALL TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE, AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND APPLYING BRAKES TO EITHER STOP OR TURN ON A ROAD. ALL THREE TIMES I ALMOST CRASHED. I KNOW WHAT I AM ABOUT TO SAY NEXT, I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE BUT I DON'T HAVE A SPARE CAR AND NEEDED TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL I COULD AFFORD TO GET IT FIXED. I WOULD DRIVE EXTREMELY SLOWLY WITH MY CAUTION LIGHTS ON AND BREAK WAY BEFORE I NEEDED TO STOP. AFTER DRIVING IT SEVERAL WEEKS, IT WOULD SLOWLY FIX ITSELF BACK TO WORKING. THIS PAST WEEKEND I TOOK MY DAUGHTERS TO THE MOUNTAINS TO SEE THE AUTUMN LEAVES CHANGING. ANYWAY, I CAN'T IMAGINE MY DAUGHTERS OR MYSELF SURVIVING COMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN AND THE BREAKS GOING OUT. TWO DAYS AFTER BEING HOME, THEY GO OUT ON MY WHILE DRIVING. I AM SO THANKFUL AND LUCKY THAT OVER THE PAST YEAR THAT NO ONE HAS DIED FROM THE BRAKE FAILURES, MY FAMILY OR SOMEONE FROM ANOTHER FAMILY. ALL THREE TIMES THAT MY BRAKES WENT OUT IT WAS WHILE IN MOTION. HIGHWAY, CITY AND ONCE TURNING. WHEN IT HAPPENED YESTERDAY FOR THE THIRD TIME, I WAS APPLYING BRAKES WHILE PULLING UP TO A STOP SIGN AND MY BRAKES FELT FINE AT FIRST WHILE I WAS APPLYING PRESSURE BUT THEN IT WAS ALMOST LIKE IT BROKE SOME SORT OF SEAL (OR I HAD SUPPER POWERS) AND PUSH STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. VERY SCARY! I COULD FEEL SOMETHING LIKE RUBBER OR PARTS KIND OF RUBBING AGAINST EACH OTHER, BUT NO GRINDING OF THE ACTUAL BRAKE PADS. TO SUM ALL OF THE UP, I AM 50 YEARS OLD AND HAVE ONLY PURCHASED CARS THAT RANGE AROUND $5,000. I THOUGHT I DESERVED A NICER AND SAFER CAR FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE. THIS CAR IS THE MOST DANGEROUS CAR I HAVE EVERY BOUGHT AND I WOULD RATHER HAVE A CAR WITHOUT ALL THE EXTRAS TO HAVE ONE THAT WOULD GET ME TO A LOCATION SAFELY WITHOUT PUTTING MY LIFE OR THE LIFE OF SOMEONE ELSE IN DANGER.

Water pump failure 3 times. Internal water pump failed causing engine to overheat dumping coolant into the engine oil. Original water pump replaced 5/16/21. Replacement water pump failed and was replaced 6/19/22. Second Replacement water pump has failed also as of January 1, 2023 resulting in catastrophic engine failure.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKX. WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED AND THE SPEED REDUCED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND HAD IT TOWED TO A FAMILY MEMBER'S TRAILER. THE CONTACT CALLED GENE MERCER FORD OF AMARILLO (LOCATED AT 3400 S SONCY RD, AMARILLO, TX 79119, 806-355-7471) WHERE THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

WATER PUMP FAILURE FILLING MOTOR WITH COOLANT $2500 REPAIR WITH NO GUARANTEE THE MOTOR IS NOT PERMANENTLY DAMAGED. HAS 112000 MILES AND JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT WHEN THE SUV STARTED MISSING AND SHE HAD TO PULL OVER STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

Twice while at a stop light with my foot on the brakes because of an incline, the engine sped up like it was grasping for air and the engine shut down. It started back each time, but the second time, my engine light came on. I called AAA since I am a member and went there for the repair. They diagnosed it as a brake booster problem and printed a copy of the Ford document sent to all US Ford and Lincoln Dealers regarding Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02, supplements 2 & 3. AAA suggested I take it to a Ford/Lincoln dealer and have the repair made under the recall. However, when I contacted Ford/Lincoln, they declined to even look at my car and said the recall was VIN specific and my car was not listed. Interestingly at the dealer and when I called and talked to several people at Ford and then Lincoln, they all asked my mileage. My mileage is 134,000, and 13N02 says it is effective up to 150,000 miles. The Ford document does not mention being VIN specific and my car is listed, a 2011 MKX with less than 150,000 miles. The brakes suddenly became very difficult to depress to make the vehicle come to a stop. Emergency repair was necessary, as driving to the dealer was unsafe. Brake booster was filled with fluid. The car then had to be towed to Dealer, where repair required replacement of Brake Booster, Master cylinder, and Booster vacuum hoses. There are recalls for this same make, model and year. Though my VIN does not come up in those vehicles covered by the recall, it is the EXACT same problem.

We had to replace the brake booster. Doing research online I saw that other Lincoln models in the same manufacturing year. A lot had recalls for the brake booster. Our mechanic suggested that we file a complaint with you because the recall should have covered all the Lincoln’s. Thank you

The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. The contact stated that she had to apply added pressure to the brake pedal causing the brake pedal to extend to the floorboard before the vehicle glide to a stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N02 had expired. The contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE ABS MODULE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

The contact stated while the vehicle was turned off, the driver’s side turn signal and parking lights remained illuminated with the other lights in the vehicle being inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V659000 (Structure) however, the Vin was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not under recall. There was no additional assistance provided. The contact was referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000. Consumer stated left turn signals remain on (even with ignition off) will not flash. Passenger side will not activate at all.

DOOR AJAR WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT KEEPS ALL THE DOME LIGHTS ON AND THE CAR WILL NOT LOCK WHILE IN MOTION, THEREFORE CAUSING A FALL OUT HAZARD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WHILE IN PARK, THE DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME CAUSING BATTERY DRAINAGE AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK. THEY UNLOCK THEMSELVES CREATING A SAFETY ISSUE.

DOOR AJAR WARNING - I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH MY DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH AND THE LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS. WHEN THE LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT CAME ON INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON OR THE SECURITY ALARM WOULD GO OFF AT RANDOM TIMES OF THE DAY OR NIGHT. I REPLACED THE DOOR LATCH PROBLEM SOLVED. THEN THE DOOR AJAR WARNING FOR THE DRIVERS DOOR STARTED COMING ON EARLIER THE MONTH AT RANDOM TIMES. WHEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. I CAN TRY TO LOCK THEM AND THEY WILL LOCK AND THEN 2 SECONDS LATER THEY UNLOCK. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS A SECURITY ISSUE. I KNEW THE FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE DOOR LATCH WHICH I DID. THE PROBLEM FOR NOW HAS GONE AWAY. I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP REPLACING DOOR LATCHES ON THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED LINCOLN / FORD AND COMPLAINED TO THEM ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT.

PTU FAILURE ON A VEHICLE THAT ALREADY HAD SERVICE ON THE SAME PART. LOUD GRINDING, DRAG, INTERMITTENT NOISE THAT PEAKED IN THE BEGINNING AROUND 35-40MPH, EVENTUALLY GRINDING AT LOW SPEED, LOUD BANGING NOISE. SOUNDS LIKE A FAN BLADE CLATTERING AROUND AS IT SPINS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECALL AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY.

HAVE OWNED THIS 2011 LINCOLN MKX AWD APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR. DURING THAT TIME I RECALL ABOUT 4 TIMES DURING THIS PERIOD, WHEN GOING FROM A COASTING DOWN THE HILL MODE ON SURFACE STREETS, TO PLACING FOOT GENTLY ON GAS PEDAL AS LEVELING OUT AND OR STARTING UP A SLIGHT INCLINE, A LOUD, JERKING SLAM HAS BEEN HEARD AND FELT. ENOUGH EACH TIME THAT I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN RAMMED FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER CAR ONLY TO FIND THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND ME. THE CAR WOULD THEN CONTINUE ON AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. THE MOST RECENT TIME I ENCOUNTERED THE "SLAM" WAS THE EVENING OF WEDNEDDAY 4/24/19. THIS WAS THE SAME SITUATION AS PREVIOUSLY NOTED, WHEN GOING FROM A COASTING MODE TO DRIVING WITH FOOT LIGHTLY ON ACCELERATOR, A LOUD SLAMMING NOISE WAS HEARD AND FELT. LAST FRIDAY, 4/26/2019 WHEN DRIVING ON A 35 MPH ZONE, IT SOUNDED AS IF SOMETHING HAD GOTTEN STUCK UNDER THE CAR, SOUNDING LIKE A DRAGGING BRANCH, OR A DRAGGING BRAKE CALIPER. WE CHECKED UNDER THE CAR AND LOOKED AT BRAKES. BACKED CAR UP AND HEARD A FAINT METAL SOUND, THEN DROVE FORWARD AND HEARD THE DRAGGING SOUND AGAIN. RATHER THAN RISK DRIVING THE CAR FURTHER, HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER TAKE OFF/TRANSFER CASE. IT WILL HAVE TO BE REPAIRED/REPLACED AS A HIGH COST.

I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55 TO 60 MPH, JUST OFF HIGHWAY, WHILE MY MKX ALL OF SUDDEN LOST ALL POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL MOVING, HOWEVER, STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR WAS NOT GAINING ANY SPEED. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID REAR-ENDED AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT SOUNDED NOSIER THAN USUAL BUT IT SEEMS WORKED FINE. THE WEATHER CONDITION IS NICE AND SHINY. I WAS ON THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 1.5 HOURS, RUSH HOUR WITH ABOUT 30 MIN BUMPER TO BUMPER. MY MKX IS A 2011 MODEL WITH 51000 MILES. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND FOUND OUT "FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012-2014 FORD EDGE AND LINCOLN MKX VEHICLES MANUFACTURED SEPTEMBER 2, 2010, TO NOVEMBER 30, 2013. THE FORD RECALL NUMBER IS 14S10" FOR THE SAME PROBLEM I WAS EXPERIENCED. WHY MKX 2011 MODEL IS NOT INCLUDED. *TR

2011 LINCOLN MKX ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SOFTWARE RECALL LINCOLN ISSUED A RECALL (10V659000) NHTSA CAMPAIGN #11V128000 WHICH REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF AFFECTED BCMS MAY HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT. IF AN ELECTRICAL SHORT DEVELOPS, AN OVERHEATING CONDITION MAY OCCUR WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE FIRE. OUR LINCOLN STARTED TO DEVELOP ISSUES ONLY A FEW WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE. THE TURN SIGNAL WOULD REPEATEDLY BURN OUT. THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED FROM REPLACED THE BULB & HOUSING SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO PERMANENT FIX. AFTER SOME RESEARCH WE FOUND THE RECALL NOTICE & CALLED LINCOLN DIRECTLY. AS IT TURNS OUR THE CAR (VIN NUMBER & ALL FIT THE CRITERIA FOR THE RECALL PER FORD) HOWEVER LINCOLN REFUSES TO FIX THE AFFECTED MODULE BECAUSE THE CAR IS ORIGINALLY FROM CANADA! WE LIVE 1 HOUR AWAY FORM CANADA, SO IAM SURE WE ARE NOT THE FIRST TO BUY A CAR IN THE US THAT ORIGINATED IN CANADA. AT THIS POINT WE DO NOT EVEN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR IT WILL CATCH FIRE. THE SIGNAL & RUNNING LIGHTS BURN OUT EVERY 2-3 WEEKS. VERY SCARY! WE CANNOT IN GOOD FAITH TRADE THE CAR IN EITHER WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THIS INFORMATION. THE MECHANICS THAT HAVE LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE STATED THAT THERE IS EVIDENCE OF AN ACTUAL FIRE AROUND THE TURN SIGNAL HOUSING.

TWO OF THE DOORS SHOW AN UNLOCKED ALARM, EVEN THOUGH THE DOORS ARE FULLY CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED, AND THE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON. I CANNOT SET THE CAR'S ALARM AS IT WILL SET ITSELF OFF.

THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING AUSING THE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE TO THE POINT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME WHICH IS A DRIVING HAZARD AT NIGHT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE MKX AS IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. FORD HAS A BULLETIN OUT HOWEVER WILL NOT COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT.

My backup rearview camera blacked out one day. Then it came back upside down. Then one day it went back to a right-side up view. But then it is upside down again. It is EXTREMELY difficult to see anything now when I back up with the view being upside down. There is a recall 25S42 from April 2025 for something similar, but it includes a 2015 Lincoln MKC but NOT the 2011 Lincoln MKX. They need to add the 2011 Lincoln MKX to the recall. I'm a Lincoln fan and i really don't like to see them including some cars and some don't. it has been the same issue for all of them and that will increase the possibility of accident

The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that while shifted into reverse(R), the rearview camera image failed to display as intended. The contact stated that an unknown message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, and the contact was informed to contact the local dealer for assistance. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V598000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN nor the model vehicle was included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

The back up camera is not working. Sometimes ithe view is perfect color, etc. Other times the view is upside down and other times, toitally out of focus or the screen is black & says check with dealer. It is a safty hazard, expecially at night when backing up. The Ford dealer says the camera needs replacing.

We saw something leaking onto our driveway from inside the garage a couple weeks ago. I verified it was leaking from underneath the engine area of my car but didn't think anything else about it. A week later I went somewhere and was gone about an hour and came back and parked in the garage. I came back into the garage maybe a half hour later and it smelled like gas. I looked and noticed it dripping under the engine area again. I took my car to a shop (QualTech Automotive 620 in Austin, TX) and they called me today and said there was a fuel leak. They think it is by the rollover valve. I have not seen any pictures of this. They stated the only way to fix it is to replace the entire fuel tank. $$$$ There were no check engine lights or any other warnings to notify me of this issue. If I had not parked it in a garage and smelled the fuel smell, I might not have known about this for a while possibly. My SUV has 94,067 miles on it and has not had any collisions or anything like that recently that could have caused this fuel leak.

KEPT TRYING TO GET ACCELERATOR TO RESPOND.TRIED NO FOOT ON ACCELERATOR, LIGHTLY PRESSING ACCELERATOR AND COMPLETELY DEPRESSING ACCELERATOR AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET CAR TO DRIVE AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES PER HOUR, THEN CAR CEASED RESPONDING TO ACCELERATOR AND STALLED. Body Control Module has developed an internal short that is causing safety systems not to work. It is also affecting the heating/ air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring system. This was recalled previously but the manufacturer wont do anything about it. I have had the vehicle at 2 separate dealerships who say the same thing, that the part is not available and can't be repaired. I called Ford directly and they are refusing to do anything about it since the old recall was performed but clearly never fixed the issue.

My dash touchscreen display became inoperable, no radio, no camera, no NOTHING My wiper blades come on by themselves and won't allow me to shut them off. The headlights remain on in the auto position... they won't shut off. Warning Lights on the dash comes on at times (lights up with lots of warnings) I'm no auto professional, but I think my issues are linked. I also, see that years ago there was a body control module recall that mentioned electrical shorts that could possibly cause a vehicle fire. OMG, I believe there's an electrical problem and I am hoping that the recall would cover these issues.

While I had car turned off turned it back on after 15 minutes and car went straight to overheating again. Had a garage look at my car, there’s a 3 cylinder misfire on just the one side of the engine. They agree and don’t understand why this happened or how.

First incident 10-15-2019 (purchased used vehicle 09-30-19) Exiting freeway at 55mph and suddenly brakes stopped working( was able to pull aside) then brakes worked normal again. Took vehicle to check breaks and nothing wrong was found. Second incident 02-17-2020 Driving son to school at 35mhp brakes stopped working while doing a right turn and ran over sidewalk to avoid hitting vehicle in front. Bumper got a little damage. Brakes check again and nothing was found. Third incident 05-15-2022 Driving at 55mph on road and brakes stopped working before trying to stop at red light. Hit cement in middle of the road to avoid crashing. Used emergency brake and Bumper was scratched. Turn on and off truck and brakes work normal again. June 22-2022 Took to mechanic after being inspected at several places and found nothing wrong. Replaced brakes, Front shocks and fluid. November 23-2022 Driving on freeway at 70mph. Brakes failed again and almost crash with eighteen wheeler. Was able to hit the brakes with all my strength and merge into honking traffic to pull over on the freeway emergency lane. (could have been fatal) This incidents indicated are major but the problem has been in occurrence on and off randomly and frequently.

The contact owned a 2011 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, another vehicle abruptly pulled in front of her and she t-boned the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The other driver had to be removed from the passenger side of their vehicle due to the damage from the accident; the driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance, and their injuries were unknown. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home and was taken to the hospital after the accident. The contact was treated for the pain in her neck, head, back, and both pairs of legs and arms. A police report was filed. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

I have had fairly issues with overheating and have had several repairs done including: 12/29/2019 - Radiator Fan Assembly and Electric Fan Motor Replacement 10/02/2021 - Replace Thermostat and Gasket & Replace Coolant Recovery Tank 8/9/2022 - Installed Module, Control, Sensors and Fuel Filler (all done with regards to presumably fixing the overheating and RPM fluctuation while overheating) I paid $3K for the August 2022 repairs and they told me they could not replicate the issue but believe that the repairs are related to the problems I am experiencing. I use my car to drive to periodically drive to another town (60 miles away) and then to drive to the airport for work (about 25 miles). After August, I took my car on the 60 mile drive and 30 miles in, the car started overheating. I called the Ford dealership and they told me to check the radiator (it was full and slightly bubbling). The idea of driving a vehicle that is not safe (not going to make it to my destination after repairs intended to do so) is terrible. When I got back home (terrified after having to drive the same car back 60 miles later that evening), I took the car back to the same Ford dealership. After a couple of days, they told me they THINK it is the internal water pump. When I asked them if that would guarantee the fix, they said NO because no codes are showing up and there are no other signs of overheating (so it SHOULD be the internal water pump). This does not seem right to me. The car has electronic sensors everywhere and the dealership put me back on the road with a car that started to overheat within 30 miles.

The car speed decelerating. I was driving on Freeway going 75 miles yellow wrench came on car decelerated to 45 miles an 18 wheeler was behind me and couldn’t stop almost hit me thankful the opposite lane was free and he was able to change lanes in time. Once lane decelerates it shut completely down. This could have cost me my life. The vehicle is in the shop took it before and because the light don’t stay on they can’t read it . I seen where there was a recall on the body throttle in 2017 I didn’t own the vehicle then. The light only appeared right before it decelerates this is the second time in 6 months the light never stays on. After the incident on Sat April 23; the light went off n the car drove smoothly but I cannot have this happening unexpectedly because this is too dangerous

CREST FORD (218 FLANDERS RD, EAST LYME, CT 06357, (860) 739-5403) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,613.

THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED THROTTLE BODY, WITH TROUBLE CODES P2111 PRESENT IN THE ON-BOARD COMPUTER SYSTEM, INDICATING THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM WAS STUCK OPEN AND CLOSED, RESPECTIVELY.

THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED ON MY VEHICLE AND WAS JUST REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR NEARLY $900 DOLLARS. THIS IS THE 2ND MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE THE THROTTLE BODY HAD AN ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. THAT WAS REPLACED AT NO COST BUT I HAD TO DO MY OWN RESEARCH FOR THE REPAIR AND THAT ISSUE COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES OR DEATH. BECAUSE LINCOLN DETERMINED THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN IS NOT ELIGIBLE THEN THE COST IS ON ME, AGAIN A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY AND DEATH WHEN THE BRAKES BARELY STOPPED. I KNOW I CANNOT RECOVER MONEY FOR OWN REPAIR BUT I FEEL FORD/LINCOLN SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH MAKING THEIR OWN DETERMINATIONS OF WHAT VEHICLES SHOULD BE COVERED WHEN THEY ARE AT FAULT FOR BUILDING A POOR. SUBSTANDARD PRODUCT. I DO NOT WANT OTHER OWNERS TO BE RAILROADED BY THIS POLICY.

MY 2011 LINCOLN MKX HAS A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THIS DIAGNOSIS, MY CAR WAS EVALUATED AND DIAGNOSED BY THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF AN ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. THERE WERE NO SYMPTOMS--ONLY THE LIGHT WAS ON WHEN THE CAR WAS ON. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY THE DEALERSHIP AT THIS TIME AS WELL. THE DIAGNOSIS STATED THAT NO PROBLEM COULD BE FOUND, BUT THAT THE LIGHT MAY COME BACK ON, AND I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT BACK FOR (AND PAY FOR) ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. THE NEXT DAY, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, STILL WITH NO SYMPTOMS OTHER THAN THE LIGHT BEING ON. I WASN'T ABLE TO GET THE LINCOLN TO THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY. EXACTLY ONE WEEK LATER, STILL WITH NO SYMPTOMS OTHER THAN THE LIGHT BEING ON, I DROVE THE LINCOLN ON A HIGHWAY CLOSE TO MY HOME FOR 5 MINUTES AND IT BEGAN STRUGGLING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL. IMMEDIATELY THE LIGHT "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE" CAME ON. THEN IMMEDIATELY THE CAR STALLED, AND I COASTED ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO OTHER SYMPTOMS OTHER THAN THE STRUGGLING ENGINE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE STALLING AND THE "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT". I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST 5-STAR RATED AUTO REPAIR PLACE, AND WITHIN A FEW HOURS, THEY CALLED ME AND DIAGNOSED THE LINCOLN WITH A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. THE LEAD MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS WAS DETERMINED BY VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE OIL AS IT HAD ENGINE COOLANT MIXED WITH OIL. HE CALLED IT THE "CLASSIC MILKSHAKE LOOK" THAT IS APPARENT WHEN THERE IS A BLOWN HEAD GASKET.

LEFT HEADLAMP STOPPED WORKING. REPLACED HEADLAMP AND IT WILL STILL NOT ILLUMINATE. DEALER SAID IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL WIRING ISSUE INTO THE BALLAST. COST TO REPAIR IS $2,200.00. LINCOLN CONCIERGE REFUSED TO ASSIST. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE ONCOMING DRIVERS PERCEIVE THE RIGHT HEADLIGHT AS BEING THE LEFT HEADLIGHT IN THE DARK CAUSING THEM TO VEER INTO OUR LANE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW THAT HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.

THE THROTTLE VALVE ASSEMBLY WAS BAD. THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING WHEN THE WIFE WAS DRIVING HIGHWAY 105 AT 50 MPH. SHE TURNED ON THE FLASHERS AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AFTER A SHORT TIME THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND DRIVEN BACK TO THE HOUSE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT TWO MONTHS LATER. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE ENGINE STOPS WITH NO WARNING.

PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY (ETB). WHEN DRIVING, THERE IS AN EXTREME, SUDDEN AND DANGEROUS LOSS OF POWER. AT THE SAME TIME, FORD'S INFAMOUS "WRENCH WARNING LIGHT' FOR THIS PROBLEM COMES ON AND THE CAR ENTERS INTO THE 'LIMP HOME MODE'. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT FORD / LINCOLN IS HAVING IN WHICH THE NHTSA HAD OPENED AN INVESTIGATION IN FEB. 2013 AFTER THOUSANDS OF FORD / LINCOLN OWNERS COMPLAINED OF THE SAME ISSUE I AM CURRENTLY HAVING, THEN CLOSED IT AFTER FORD AGREED TO 'FIX 1,600,000 CARS THAT "LIMPED HOME"'. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT FORD CLAIMS THAT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 16B23 HAS BEEN ISSUED. HOWEVER, WHEN I CONTACTED LINCOLN HQ, THEY STATED THAT SINCE NHTSA HAS CLOSED THIS INVESTIGATION, THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO INCLUDE MY VIN WITH THIS REPORTED PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE AS WELL. IT HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES NOW AND EVERY TIME, I HAVE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. I CALLED THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT HE FIXES THESE 'ALL THE TIME' AT $160.00 FOR THE PART, AND $400.00 FOR THE LABOR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 LINCOLN MKX. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING MULTIPLE FAILURES. THE FIRST FAILURE WAS BOTH THE HEAT AND AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT ACTIVATED AT THE SAME TIME, DESPITE BOTH UNITS BEING TURNED OFF. THE SECOND FAILURE WAS INACCURATE READINGS FROM THE ELECTRICAL METERS AND GAUGES ALONG THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FINAL FAILURE WAS WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 535 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 800.

AFTER PURCHASINNG MY VEHICLE, I NOTICED A DISTINCT HARD OBJECT JUST UNDER THE SEATING SURFACE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A SEAT ADJUSTMENT SUCH AS A LUMBAR SUPPORT ON THE SEAT BOTTOM, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I WAS, AND STILL AM, SITTING DIRECTLY ON THE MOTOR CONTROLS FOR THE SEAT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT TWICE ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER HERE IN FLORIDA WHERE I WORK. I TOOK IT TO A LINCOLN DEALER IN WEST PALM BEACH. THE SERVICE REP. FELT THE SEAT AND IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF THE SEAT. HE ASKED ME TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE AND THEY WOULD FIX THE SEAT THE FOLLOWING DAY BY INSTALLING SOME ADDITIONAL PADDING. I TOOK A RENTAL CAR PROVIDED BY THEM BACK TO MY APARTMENT. I WAS CONTACTED THE FOLLOWING DAY BY THE SAME DEALER REP. AND WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THAT THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIRS. I THEN CONTACTED LINCOLN'S CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE TEAM AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED SHORTLY BY A CUSTOMER CARE SPECIALIST, WHICH I WAS THE FOLLOWING DAY. MY LEASED CAR FROM VARSITY LINCOLN MERCURY IS SIX WEEKS OLD, MKZ 2011. PART OF THE PRICE NEGOTIATION WAS THAT THE TIRES WOULD BE INCLUDED IF THEY FAILED. TIRES ARE NOT USUALLY INCLUDED BUT MY SALESPERSON KEPT STRONG-ARMING ME TO "INSURE THE TIRES" AND THIS WAS A RED FLAG SO I KEPT REFUSING AND SUGGESTED I WOULD GO ELSEWHERE. ON FRIDAY, DEC. 10,2011, I CAME OUT FROM THE GROCERY AND MY TIRE WAS FLAT. I CALLED MY SALESPERSON WHO LAUGHED AND SAID I WAS UNLUCKY. SHE GAVE ME A NUMBER TO CALL FOR ROAD REPAIR. WITHIN 40 MINUTES HE ARRIVED AND HAD MY SPARE ON. HE SAID NO NAIL, AND IT COULD BE REPAIRED..FOR SURE. BUT, THE NEXT MORNING AT THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW TIRE AND IF IT WAS HIM, HE WOULD INSURE THE TIRES. $338.45 LATER I LEFT!! WAS IT BECAUSE I AM AN ELDERLY WOMAN? WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR PROMISES?? I CALLED MY SALESPERSON WHO SAID REMINDED ME THAT I WAS PAYING 200 DOLLARS LESS ON MY LEASE MONTHLY WITH THEM THAN WITH MY ACURA.? SHE ALSO SAID THAT THE SHE CHECKED AND THE TIRE WAS SLASHED!!!!!! NO WAY!!!! MY SALESPERSON SAID THE 338.45 INCLUDED NINETY DOLLARS FOR INSURANCE ON THE TIRES .
