My brakes have failed on this car three times. I had new front and back brakes installed on [XXX] mileage 44882. Again my brakes failed on [XXX] mileage 47626. A new brake booster was installed along with front brakes. Again on [XXX] brakes failed again and a brake booster and front brakes were installed. Mileage 54924. Today I was driving to my daughters house in Zanesville, Ohio and my brakes failed again. My car is still down in Zanesville because I could not drive it home. The mileage is 57000. Every time this happens I risk an accident. Even though the brake booster is covered by extended warranty, because Lincoln knows about this problem, I still have to pay for brakes and other cost. In June 2024, i received a letter dated March of 2024 for a Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 that ended before i had a chance to take my vehicle into the repair shop to have this item fixed. Actually, i received the letter past the date that it could qualify for the repair as it was 10 years from the original warranty or 150,000 miles. My original warranty start date was December 2013. So they sent the "Customer Satisfaction Program notice 13N02" After the date it could be repaired. I called the dealership anyway, despite their error, to see if they may want to fix this Spongy Break Pedal anyway since they had messed up their mailing date. (Shultz Lincoln in Wexford, PA) They declined and told me they would be happy to look at it for a low fee of $180.00. I told them they should do it for free. I then called Lincoln directly where i spoke with a very nice gentleman. He looked through every possible scenario and decided that i was not able to get it fixed under the program. There really should be some type of law disallowing them to send out post dated letters knowing very well that they were not going to fix it because it was past the date of repair. My brake pedal hits the floor when i try to stop and if i do not push on the pedal hard enough to brake without the booster kicking in, i bump into things. Solution, i have attached a 2 channel dash cam to the vehicle with a live feed posted to a server in order to document my death caused by Lincoln. I have instructed my attorneys to release the feed upon my death and have authorized a law suit in my name. if won, they have been told to distribute the money to all of the homeless people that the Lincoln Executives drive past with their pocket tight and windows up every day on their way to work. This should be a crime. They should fix their safety issues, they should not be allowed to send out notices offering to pay for repairs that they do not plan on repairing. Brake booster is a known issue with these cars. It failed today and my car has 100,000 miles. Ford has issued a customer satisfaction notice, but they refuse to fix my car because it was built 3 months too early.

Our car has been having issues with the breaks. At random times the break peddle gets very spongy and has to be pushed to the floor before the brakes will activate. The reduced break pressure has caused near crashes as the vehicle does not slow down when the breaks are pushed until the pedal is pushed to the floor. We took the car into a Lincoln dealership and they spent a day looking at the vehicle. The mechanic informed us that the vehicle has a faulty ABS pump and that the part needs to be replaced to remedy the brake issue. We were told by the Lincoln dealer that the part is on back order and that this part is known to fail on our year and model of car.

The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that after her daughter started the vehicle, the parking brake failed and the vehicle began to roll. As a result, the vehicle rolled 300 yards downhill, running over the driver, who had attempted to physically stop the vehicle and came to a complete stop after colliding with a building. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The driver was taken to an area hospital and treated for a sprained hip, a sprained ankle, and various contusions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the vehicle was functioning as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 243,000.

Noticed for the last year or two that the buttons on my air and best turn on without to touch any button and will not power off also the windows will fog while driving. If heat is on the buttons will dial to air conditioning which causes foggy windows while on busy interstate. Also noticed there are several complaints on the internet from others who experience similarities of what is call ghost buttons. This also send sensor into a frenzy and can cause the car to over heat without warning happen to me twice.

THE HVAC AND PCM NEEDED THE VIN NUMBER RECODED?? TWO HOURS OF LABOR AT A COST OF $385. DOLLARS. REASON IS HEAT WOULD BLOW COLD AIR ON DRIVERS SIDE AND HEAT ON PASSAGEM SIDE. DEALER SAID THE VEHICLE VIN NUMBER NEEDED TO BE CORRECTED IN BOTH THE HVAC AND PCM MODULES.. DEALER SAID IT IS A GLITCH? VEHICLE IS USED REGULARLY AND THE CABIN AIR FILTER HAD JUST BEEN CHANGED BY THE DEALER WHEN PROBLEM STARTED.

The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH and while attempting to make a right turn, the contact heard a grinding noise coming from the front of the vehicle on the front passenger’s side. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the driveshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V393000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Lately when I put the car in park it still beeps and say place in park. I have to take it in and out of park to get it to know that it is in park. the other day I put it in park and got out of the car with it still running and then it started rolling up the driveway. it was in the park position but it was moving up the hill like it was in reverse

Vehicle randomly dies while driving. Can happen at anytime and at any speed. No warning at all. Does not leave a check engine light so no code is recorded. Very dangerous. Otherwise vehicle runs well but is too dangerous to drive. All steering, acceleration, brakes, etc. are lost when it dies. Will immediately start back up if in park or neutral and foot on the brake. Again - DANGEROUS! This has been going on for over 6 months now. Some days all ok and other days can be multiple events.

The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the brake pedal felt soft. The contact depressed the brake pedal to the floorboard while slowing the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who referred the contact to a local dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the HECU was leaking, causing the brake booster and other braking systems to fail. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact was advised by an independent mechanic that the brake failure for the year, make, and model was known by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a Mr. Tire to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

The contact stated while his wife was driving 35 mph and coming to a stop, the brake pedal was depressed but hesitated to respond causing 30 feet stopping distance delay. The contact stated that the brake pedal was soft. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power brake booster had failed, and the failure was related to an unknown recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the unknown recall since the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the repair would not be completed under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 31,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD OF OCALA INC (2816 NW PINE AVE, OCALA, FL 34475), AND WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY COVERED THE ABS MODULE BUT NOT THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,700.

Brake failure. Pedal drops, especially when ABS is activated. Dealer diagnosed ABS control module and HCU hydraulic leak. Parts for this are on back order per dealer leaving me with a dangerous driving situation or inability to use my vehicle. No warning lamp or message displays. The fact that the parts to fix a major safety item are not available is unacceptable.

I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 69 IN HOUSTON, TEXAS WHEN I FEEL LT LIKE THE BRAKE PETAL WAS HARD TO PUSH AND ALSO HEARD A SOUND FROM THE DASH. THIS TERRIFIED ME SO I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND IMMEDIATELY LOOKED UP BRAKE CHECK LOCATION TO GO GET THE BRAKES CHECKED. I FOUND ONE 8 MILES AWAY AND DROVE THERE AND EXPLAINED TO A TECHNICIAN WHAT HAD HAPPEN. THE TECHNICIAN GOT INTO MY LINCOLN AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SAID IT'S GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD AND HARD TO PUSH. AND HE ASKED ME IF IT FELT HARDER TO PUSH. I TOLD HIM YES. THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUOUS ISSUE WHEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL AT ANY SPEED. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON, AND THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE, THERE IS A NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHILE IT IS TRYING TO MAINTAIN THE SPEED. While driving on Sept 22 2023 I hit a pothole and immediately felt a change in the pressure in the gas pedal, upon braking I noticed a loss of pressure in the brake system. Vehicle was slow to respond to applicsation of brake pedal to where I had to move my seaty forward so that I could depress the pedal to the floor ( im 4'10" and could not apply the brake to the degree needed to stop my vehicle from the seat position I usually drive in). When pressing the brake pedal it felt as if it wanted to engage the ABS system but was not doing so and I would have to press the pedal to the floor which then would bring me to a jolting stop. I don't know how to explain it but there was also a differnce in the feeling of pressure when pushing on the gas pedal so whatever happened affected pressure in both the fuel and brake syatem foot pedals. I have not had the vehicle inspected as of writing this, nor have I reported it to Police as I did not experience a collisionbeing that it happened a short distance from my house abnd the vehicle has not been driven since the issue began yesterday morning Sept 22 2023.

Our Lincoln MKX had a failure of its power brake booster showing no warning indicator light on the dashboard. The brakes felt like they had air in the lines and excessive pumping was needed to build pressure on the brake pads which eventually needed to be pushed close to the floor in order to stop. We made an appointment at the Ford Dealership. But, since it was a long distance from our home, and not to put us in danger of getting into an accident, we made it to the closest brake repair business we could find that was close to our home. It was found that our Power Brake Booster & Brake Master Cylinder needed to be replaced. We are the 2nd Owners of this Vehicle & we learned that there was an a Customer Satisfaction Program 13N02 - Supplement #1 for certain 2010-2013 Model Year MKX (& Edge) Vehicles that had an Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Boosters. Our car VIN # falls in the timeframe of this. Moreover, when the Vehicle was purchased from the Ford/Lincoln Dealership, it had 33,341 miles on it & it now only has 51,920. The Customer Satisfaction Program repairs the issue with the power brake booster at no cost within 10 years & on cars up to 150,000 miles. We had to pay out of pocket for our repair & need assistance in getting reimbursement for this expense. This unsafe occurrence also lead to having to replace a Stop Lamp Switch on 02/4/22 which failed & we were charged again (in less than a month's time) for another switch. It was also found on that repair that the booster mount on the inside under the dashboard was not tight & it had a stripped fastener. Now it is being recommended that a removal of the brake booster & master cylinder be inspected for proper installation and that a cut-out of that stripped fastener be done. Access to this requires removal of the instrument panel & steering column to access the firewall to get to the fastener. Invoices related to all this are attached for review except for the last noted recommendations.

The contact increased the volume to hear the sound in the front speakers; however, while merging onto the highway, the speakers in the front of the vehicle started working and the volume increased. The increased volume of the speakers startled the contact who jumped and jerked the steering wheel. I bought the car 1 week before taking it to Ford Garage to be serviced and inspected. It has high mileage. over 208,000 miles. The engine light was on the previsce owner said it needed an 02 sensor, upon them checking it needed 2 02 sensors and a drivers side air bag replacement. upon them checking the car fax at the Ford garage the service manager told me that the vehicle had never been in an accident or any reported damage. do airbags normally just go bad. I had to replace airbag so that it would pass West Virginia's state inspection. the service manager got upset at me when I asked why it needed replaced. he ever told me they would not do the work. But it needed done to pass the state inspection, I would just have to park it and forget about it unless I sold it to someone in a state that did not require state inspections like the man i bought it from in Ohio. I even asked if it could be a sensor or component that was bad instead of replacing the complete airbag. the service manager got very upset on me asking. so i told him to do the work so that i would be able to drive the vehicle. replacement and labor was over $1,000. I live on S.S and that's a lot of money. plus the 2, 02 sensors was over $600. Plus whether it maters , the evening before they picked up the vehicle the air conditioning worked great. have witness. the picked it up and drove it to the Ford dealership In Wellsburg , West Virginia which is a drive of about 8 to 10 miles. the service manger told me the car had no air conditioning working. This is very strange since the day I bought the car the air conditioning worked great. he told me he even had his supervisor check it. I have not been able to check the vehicle because I have been extremely ill since vehicle has been returned. I have not been able to check it , I haven't even been outside my home. all together, parts and labor an different items came to over $2,800 . was there ever a recall on the airbags during this time period its a 2013MKX

I PURCHASED A 2013 LINCOLN MKX IN APRIL 2015; DEALER SAID THEY INSTALLED 4 NEW MICHELIN GREEN-X TIRES, LATITUDE TOUR 245/60 R18, DOT AP4A 005X, AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE RATED AT 90,000 MILES I RECENTLY FELT A VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING AT 55-60 MPH SO I CHECKED THE TIRES VISUALLY AND FOUND WHAT LOOKED LIKE LITTLE JIGSAW SHAPED PIECES OF TREAD THAT YOU COULD ACTUALLY LIFT WITH A TOUCH OF YOUR FINGER!! I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR (& TIRES) AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD TOW IT TO THEIR SERVICE FACILITY. I DECIDED TO DRIVE IT THERE, AND BY THE TIME I ARRIVED (ABOUT 40-45 MILES) ALL THOSE FLAPS OF RUBBER WERE GONE!! THEY HAD COME OFF AND LEFT GAPING HOLES WHERE THE TREAD USED TO BE, ALL OVER THE FRONT TIRES. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE'D NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT AND CALLED OTHER MECHANICS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL; THEY WERE ALL CURIOUS AS WELL. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES WITH MORE MICHELINS, THEN MY SON TOLD ME THE TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT DOESN'T SEEM THAT MICHELIN IS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER'S SAFETY, AS THIS WEBSITE DOESN'T LIST MY TIRES AS BEING RECALLED. I PURCHASED MY LINCOLN MKX 2013 NEW FROM SUTTON FORD. THE TIRES ON THE CAR AT THE TIME WERE PIRELLI SCORPION TIRES. WITHIN LESS THAN YEAR FROM TIRE EXPLODED FROM THE SIDE WALL WHILE ON MY WAY TO WORK. NO ONE WAS HURT. HOWEVER, I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRE. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER TWO OTHER TIRES BEGAN TO LEAK WITH REPORT INITIALLY THAT IT WAS THE 20" CHROME ALLOY WHEEL WHICH WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THE REMAINING FOUR TIRES AND WHEELS WERE REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR LATER I WAS CALLED A DEALER CLOSE TO WORK WHERE I HAD TAKEN THE CAR FOR OIL CHANGE AND TO REPORT RUMBLING WHEN I WAS DRIVING. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THAT DEALERSHIP STATING THE CAR WAS "UNSAFE TO DRIVE" THERE ISSUE WITH ESSENTIALLY ALL THE TIRES WITH SIDE WALL RUPTURE IMPENDING ON ONE AND REMAINING THREE WITH SEVERE COMPROMISE. THESE TIRES WERE LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL FACILITY FOR REPAIR. MY EXTENDED WARRANTLY ONLY PAID FOR 75 DOLLARS OF THE TOW. WHICH WAS 100 DOLLARS FOR ME. I HAD FOUR NEW GOODYEAR TIRES PUT ON THE CAR AND DROVE HOME THAT EVENING . THE NEXT MORNING WE AWOKE TO FIND TWO OF THE TIRES WERE FLAT. I HAD TO HAVE A SECOND TOW TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THETECHNICIAN THERE REPORTED A DEFECT WITHIN MY WHEELS.
