Right rear brake line ruptured while driving. I felt the pedal go to the floor, pulled over and got towed home. Upon inspection of the line, I see that it split at the connection of the lies, no one else has inspected it, obviously people could have been killed, and Ford has recalled the same thing for the front lines...

Rear brake hose rupture. Have previously experiences rupture in front hose while driving associated with recall.Repaired April 2024. This time I was leaving a grocery store and had similar experience. Was thankfully still parked. Had car towed to dealership. Diagnosed as rear brake hose rupture. No brake light warnings, nothing noted during last oil change.

Brake hose burst suddenly causing loss of all fluid and pressure. Hose is bent at an acute angle causing unnecessary stress on the hose.

I placed my foot on the Brake to release the Emergency brake. I heard a pop. The brake pedal immediately went to car floor. I didn’t know what it was initially but quickly realized something was wrong with my brakes when I was on the highway. When I tried to brake the pedal went to the floor and the car did not slow properly. I made it to the subdivision entrance when the low brake fluid indicator light came on. I made it home safely. When I stopped, smelled an odor (I was told it was likely brake fluid). I had it towed to the dealership. It was diagnosed the day after, informing me brake line had broke. I asked what was the cause and possibly wear and tear? He informed a weak spot in the line. I called Lincoln customer relations bc it’s a safety issue whether it is a new or old car under warranty to address my concerns. They explained I would have to pay since a warranty was not in place. As a customer, my car is under 100, 000 miles and I service it routinely. I am more concerned of this being an issue with safety than a warranty being in place. My son or myself could have been in a bad accident sustaining serious injuries with no brakes. The Lincoln rep implied my car was old, which is an insult. It’s only 7 years old. My 22 year old Toyota is still working and the brake line has never broke. I was informed by the service tech it is unusual to see this occur in the back brakes. The brake line/hose broke and the brake fluid leaked out. In my opinion, it’s a defect, durability, and a safety issue regardless of the age of my car. It is a much bigger problem that should be addressed. The customer service rep and her manager were eluding to their extended warranty program and they could not offer financial assistance. I have paid more for services when I feel it’s wear and tear. It is a safety issue with a possible defective part, which I should not be responsible to pay, regardless of a warranty being in place or not. Safety and durability are the bigger issue.

I have an oil consumption issue. There is a technical service Bulletin# 19-2243 indicating this is a known problem with my SUV. My Lincoln Protection Plan and Lincoln Corporate refuse to assist in replacing the engine.

Engine shutoff suddenly while driving, mainly on freeways & roads that have long downhills, while foot is off the gas pedal. But it happens on flat roads also. The stability control lights comes on, & I have to pull over with residual speed put suv in park, turn engine button off & wait for seat to return to neutral position then restart. This had happened at least 12 times & mostly in dry conditions while driving straight with no lane changes. Dealer could not duplicate & find the problem, visited them 4 times so far. Otherwise it will not start the engine.

I HAVE NOTICED EXHAUST FUMES IN THE CABIN WHEN DRIVING. I DRIVE BOTH HIGHWAY AND CITY, BUT IT IS WORSE ON THE HIGHWAY. I STARTED FEELING TIRES AND FOGGY HEADED EVERY TIME I DROVE. I TRIED RECYCLING AIR AND OPEN AIR BOTH BUT DIDN'T SEEM TO HELP. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. SERVICE CONCIERGE SAID THEY HAD ANOTHER 2016 MKX IN AT THAT TIME WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T LOOK AT MY VEHICLE FOR OVER TWO WEEKS AND WOULDN'T HAVE A LOANER CAR UNTIL THEN. I TOLD THEM I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING WITH THE PROBLEM AND WAS OFFERED TWO OPTIONS... LEAVE IT THERE UNTIL THEY COULD LOOK AT IT, WITH NO LOANER CAR, OR FOR TIMES SAKE TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND A LIABILITY IN MY OPINION.

THE MOTOR HAS TOTALLY GONE DEAD IN HEAVY TRAFFIC 5 TIMES. THE 1ST 3 TIMES THEY SHOWED UP ON THE INSPECTION AND A PART WAS REPLACED. AN INSPECTION THE LAST 2 TIMES SHOWED NOTHING. WHEN THE ENGINE STOPS, I PRESS N, THEN START AND IT RUNS, THEN D AND IT GOES AGAIN. MEANWHILE, TWICE ON HWY 80 AROUND CHICAGO IN BUMPER-TO-BUMPER TRAFFIC AT 70 MPH, CARS ARE SLAMMING ON THEIR BRAKES AND HONKING. 1. WHAT ACTION BEYOND THE DEALER NEED I TAKE? 2. MY INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER A MULTI-CAR ACCIDENT FROM A DEFECTIVE CAR UNDER WARRANTY. WHO DOES? 3. IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT CORRECTED HOW DO I GET A NEW ONE FROM LINCOLN? IT IS A GREAT CAR WITH ABOUT 33,000 MILES. I PREFER KEEPING IT. MY DAUGHTER SAID WHEN IT HAPPENED TO HER, SHE HAD JUST TURNED ON THE RADIO. PERHAPS IT IS AN ELECTRICAL OR COMPUTER DEFECT. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THE DEALERSHIP HAS TAKEN NO ACTION TO CONTACT LINCOLN HEADQUAQRTERS. IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES OVER A 2 DAY PERIOD IN OCT. 2017, (REPAIRED) ONCE IN OCT. 2018 AND ONCE IN MAY 2019.

Catalytic Converter Issues with Ford after Emissions Recall I recently had an emissions recall on my 2016 Lincoln MKX by Ford (25E02) in which the "vehicle has an emissions control system that does not account for certain in-use conditions and might not control tail pipe emissions effectively over time." Now one of the catalytic converters in the car is not working and needs to be replaced. The safety issue is the emissions being released as a result of the emissions control system not working properly for years and damaging the catalytic converter. I believe the company is aware of the issue but is refusing to include catalytic convertors in the recall. This is an environmental hazard that should fall on Ford to resolve.

Six months ago I had to replace the catalytic converter on my car - per the dealership. I have just been told that the 2nd one needs replacing. My car is under 8 years old and less than 90,000 miles. The replacement cost of the 1st one was 2399.30. The 2nd one is 2464.62. Replacement is required by state and federal governments and essential for protecting the environment - and yet who can afford to have them fixed? All information online indicates they should last at least 10 years, if not indefinitely. I have been driving for 50 years and never had to replace one, and now two.

In 2019 the rear liftgate on my 2016 Lincoln MKX would open correctly and then immediately start automatically closing causing whomever was standing at the rear of the vehicle to abruptly jump out of the way of the closing hatch to avoid serious injury. I am a 73 year old woman and my husband is 75. If we were unable to get out of the way of this malfunctioning closing hatch, this could result in serious injury or death. This issue was repaired under warranty by the dealer on December 19, 2019. Yesterday on April 28, 2023, this malfunctioning rear hatch issue started again almost caused serious injury to my young niece.

In early September the vehicle was completely without electrical power. My husband was able to jump start the car. We bought a new battery from AutoZone and it was installed by their technician. September 22, 2022 the same issue occurred and the car had to be jump started. I took the vehicle to the dealership who was able to find no cause of the failure. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms (no difficulty starting etc.) Based on other accounts this appears to be associated with NHTSA Campaign # 19V809000 - Electrical System. The dealership did not charge me for anything related to this failure as they could not recreate it.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the battery and indicated that the gear selector indicator on the gauge cluster and shifter buttons remained illuminated while the vehicle was off causing the battery to drain. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.

THE BATTERY WILL DISCHARGE AFTER THREE TO FIVE DAYS WITHOUT STARTING. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO LOCATE THE BATTERY DRAW AFTER SEVERAL VISITS. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED ON THE FIRST VISIT TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

My Car has swollen lug nuts . I was informed of this by a Dealer who refused to remove the nuts to rotate the tires . I expressed a concern that I had a flat would the lug wrench remove nuts . I was told probably not. I travel long distances . This possibly means I could be stranded for an extended time due to a known fact. I have replaced the nuts but believe I should have been notified earlier by Lincoln .

Went to the dealer for oil change & tire rotation. Service department told me they could not do the tire rotation due to the fact they could not remove the lug nuts. They wanted me to buy new lug nuts at a cost of $334.00. I declined, decided to research on my own to replace. Hopefully I don’t have to worry about a wheel falling off.

Brought vehicle into the dealer for tire rotation service. They said they could not take my wheels off the car because the lug nuts have become swollen. This is a common condition where the chromed metal lug nut covers become separated from the lug nuts and expand such that the lug nut socket no longer fits. This means that I can't remove a wheel to fix a flat on the road which become a real hazard.

IN JULY 2016 I BOUGHT A NEW LINCOLN MKX WITH THE 2.7 ECO ENGINE. FROM DAY ONE I NOTICED FIBERGLASS PARTICLES ON THE REAR GLASS , AFTER 300 MILES IT WAS SO BAD I HAD TO WASH IT EVERY DAY , IT WAS ALSO IN SIDE ALL OVER THE INTERIOR. I HAD IT ON MY FACE AS WELL AS MY FAMILY. I CONTACTED LINCOLN AND THEY DENIED USING FIBERGLASS ON THEIR VEHICLES. LINCOLN TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO MY DEALER AND I DID AFTER SEVERAL VISITS THEY DISCOVERED IT WAS COMING FROM THE EXHAUST AND CONTACTED LINCOLN . IN THE MEANTIME I STARTED COUGHING AND HAD SEVERE THROAT IRATATION. I STARTED TO CALL LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME WAS TOLD TO STOP CALLING. THE DEALER DID NOT SEEM TO GET ANY WHERE WITH THIS PROBLEM. LINCOLN ADVISED ME TO KEEP THE WINDOWS UP, I REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE TILL THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED AND WAS TOLD NO BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RAN AND WAS OPERATIONAL THEY COULD NOT DO THIS. AFTER 2800 MILES AND 3 MONTHS OF OWNER SHIP I WAS FORCED TO TRADE IT IN AND TAKE A $18,000.00 DOLLARS LOSS. I WENT TO THE VA HOSPITAL AND WAS TOLD TO STAY AWAY FROM THE MKX AFTER EXAMS BECAUSE FIBERGLASS WILL CAUSE THESE COUGHING AND IRATITAON PROBLEMS, SYMPTOMS I DOCUMENTED THIS ON UTUBE UNDER - [ 2016 LINCOLN MKX PROBLEMS.] BEING A VET AND ON DISABILITY THE LOSS WAS GREAT . I WAS DRIVING IN THE CENTER LANE ON THE BROOKLYN QUEENS EXPRESSWAY TRAVELING HOME FROM ASTORIA, QUEENS TO MY HOME IN BROOKLYN. HAVING PASSED THE ATLANTIC AVENUE EXIT AT APPROXIMATELY 3:15 PM AND PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR COULD ONLY GO ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR. THE BQE AT THIS POINT HAS NO SHOULDER TO PULL OVER IN. BY SOME SAVING GRACE, I WAS ABLE TO GLIDE OFF AT THE HAMILTON AVENUE EXIT. THE LINCOLN TOW ARRIVED AT APPROXIMATELY 5:30PM. THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE CLOSED AT 5:30 SO I WAS TOWED HOME. THE NEXT MORNING, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31 I CALLED LINCOLN FOR A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP (DANA FORD, STATEN ISLAND) THAT LEASED THE CAR TO ME. THE LINCOLN SERVICE MANAGER, ANTHONY FALLACARO, ASSISTED ME. HE EXPLAINED IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR WHICH WERE DEFECTIVE AND MANY CONSUMERS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS. MY MILEAGE AT THIS POINT WAS 2307 MILES, QUITE LOW FOR EIGHT MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. HOWEVER, FORD/LINCOLN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. YET, THEY HAD TO MAKE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE NEW PART BECAUSE INSTALLING THE SAME PART WOULD CONTINUE TO CAUSE PROBLEMS. I CALLED LINCOLN ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31 2016 AND SPOKE TO MELISSA AND FORMALLY LOGGED A COMPLAINT (CAS - 10455614-D7Z7N8). I EXPRESSED THAT THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO A NEW CAR, I LOST CONFIDENCE IN DRIVING THIS CAR AND AM STUCK WITH IT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE LEASE.

TRAVELING DOWN INTERSTATE @ 70 MPH, WHEN VEHICLE WENT TO "COAST MODE" . SERVICE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON DASH, FOLLOWED QUICKLY BY ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT. ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE TO THE GAS PEDAL. PARKED ON SIDE OF ROAD, WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE THE CAR WOULD MOVE IN IDLE MODE ONLY. 5700 MILES ON 4 MONTH OLD MKX. THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED

MY WIFE LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY ON JULY 13 2016. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IN TRAFFIC TO AVOID MAJOR ACCIDENT FROM THIS LOSS OF POWER. WAS ABLE TO START CAR AFTER A FEW MINUTES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. SHE CALLED AND I INSTRUCTED HER TO GO FORD IMMEDIATELY. MET HER THERE AND THEY MADE THIS A PRIORITY. THROTTLE BODY REPLACED AND BACK TO US THE NEXT DAY. MILEAGE WAS ONLY 5264 WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE LOVE THIS CAR. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ASAP.

TOTAL LOSS OF POWER WHEN APPROACHING TRAFFIC LIGHT, NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO RESTART, FINALLY STARTED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS HILL ASSIST LIGHT (ON A COMPLETE LEVEL SURFACE AT TIME) VERY CLOSE CALL ON GETTING HIT AT INTERSECTION, UNSAFE SITUATION. ONCE ABLE TO RESTART CAR HAD VERY LIMITED POWER, WAS ABLE TO GET CAR TO DEALERSHIP APPROX 1 MILE AWAY, SERVICE ADVISOR IMMEDIATELY KNEW IT WAS A "THROTTLE BODY ISSUE" AND THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER, APPEARS THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OCCURRENCES W/THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM, THIS IS A VERY VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE IN A AREA WHERE TRAFFIC WAS NOT AS HEAVY (STILL ALMOST HIT) BUT IF THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY OR BUSIER INTERSECTION THE OUTCOME MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN AS FAVORABLE.

The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 20V469000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) and 25V544000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while approaching a traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond in a timely manner. The vehicle then slowed down and stopped; however, the contact stated that added force was used to depress the brake pedal. No warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake assist, brake, traction control, and anti-skid warning lights illuminated. The auto-braking system became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the wheel hub, wheel sensor, lower control arm, and ball joint. Additionally, the mechanic informed the contact about several low voltage codes. The battery, alternator, and starter were working as designed, but there was low voltage. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The contact recently received a recall letter that informed him that parts were available. The dealer had been notified about the recall however, the contact was informed that parts were still unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

ON 5/11/19, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50MPH WHEN THE ENTIRE DASH WENT DARK, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING (WITH 3/4 TANK OF GAS) AS I LOOKED AT AN 'ALL POWER OFF' DISPLAYED IN THE INFORMATION AREA OF THE DASH (THAT NORMALLY DISPLAYS THE TRIP MILEAGE INDICATOR). I IMMEDIATELY PRESSED THE EMERGENCY FLASH BUTTON WHICH WORKED. FORTUNATELY, I WAS IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE AND HAD ENOUGH SPEED TO SIMPLY COAST TO A SAFE AREA ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER. WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING, I FELT I HAD ONE CHANCE TO USE THE POWER BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE CAR. TO BE CLEAR; I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM MY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP ON 5/15/19, AS THE SERVICE REP SAID THEY CAN'T FIND A COMPUTER ERROR CODE FOR THE PROBLEM, AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO AT THIS POINT IF THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AT THIS POINT, I BELIEVE THAT IF YOU SEE SOMETHING FAIL, AND DON'T RESOLVE IT, YOU'LL SEE IT AGAIN. THEREFORE, I DON'T TRUST THIS CAR AS SAFE TO DRIVE. The right headlight is filling up with condensation which is shorting out the battery. Replaced it more condensation is back in it. Mechanic says seals are no good says its a common problem in all lincolns. Lights and adaptive module cost well over 5K for one light not including the labor. This is a potential for a fire hazard.

2016 LINCOLN MKX HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. WE LEFT HOME AND HAD DRIVEN ABOUT A MILE IN OUR SUBDIVISION WHEN I SLOWED FOR AND STOPPED AT STOP SIGN. THE ENGINE SHUDDERED AND SHOOK, ENGINE REVOLUTIONS SLOWED DOWN. SPED UP, SLOWED DOWN AND ENGINE QUIT. THE MESSAGE, "FULL ACCESSORY POWER ACTIVE' DISPLAYED ON THE DASH AND MY WIFE GOT A PAD AND PENCIL AND COPIED IT DOWN FOR ME. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT HAS HAPPENED AND EVIDENTLY WAS THE SAME MESSAGE DISPLAYED WHEN THE ENGINE QUIT WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION IN NEW ORLEANS. CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL INSTANCES TO THIS HAPPENING DUE TO A COMPUTER GLITCH. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME. DO WE HAVE TO GET KILLED BEFORE FORD CORRECTS THEIR FAULTY COMPUTERS? TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, I HAD SCHEDULED AND APPOINTMENT WITH MY DEALER, DROVE 31 MILES, ONLY TO FIND OUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF MY APPOINTMENT. SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER ON 21 JULY AND HE TOLD ME HE WOULD SEND ME AN EMAIL BY THE END OF THE WEEK. WELL THE END OF THE WEEK IS HERE AND I'VE NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE MKX IS A GLORIFIED FORD EDGE AND THAT THE STALLING PROBLEMS WERE ON-GOING FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

I WAS DRIVING TO MY SON'S HOUSE WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER THERE WAS A CHIME WARNING AND ON THE DASH A MENU STARTING THE HILL ASSIST WAS NOT AVAILABLE THE ENGINE CONTINUE TO RUN BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE WHEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR WOULD ONLY DUE ABOUT 3 MILES AT IDLE SPEED. WAS ABLE RESTART IT AND MAKE BACK HOME, ON THE NEXT DAY10/09/16 I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THIS TIME I COULD NOT GET IT TO ACCELERATE I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS SUNDAY THE DEALER WAS CLOSED. I CALLED THE DEALER ON MONDAY AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPEN AND HE SAID THEY WERE WORKING ON IT. THEY CALLED LATER AND SAID IT WAS THROTTLE CONTROL AND A COUPLE OF ERROR CODES THAT REQUIRED UP DATING P2111, U0415 AND U0416. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. THEY ALSO NOTED THEY DROVE IT 9 MILES AND NOTED THAT ALL OK AT THIS TIME. THAT LAST COMMENT SOUNDS THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM HAD I BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE AT RUSH HOUR I MIGHT NOT BE WRITING THIS TO COMPLAIN. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR SLOWS ON SO FAST THAT THE CAR BEHIND DOESN'T KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT BRAKING WHICH MEANS YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON AND HE MORE THAN LIKELY IS GOING TO HIT YOU. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENS IS QUIET SCARY BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING.

I WAS ON I 10 HEADED WEST WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I HAD A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME TO CROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER (WHICH WAS VERY SMALL). SO THERE I SAT. I COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR ON EITHER SIDE. THE CEMENT BARRIER BLOCKED THE PASSENGER SIDE AND TRAFFIC WAS SPEEDING BY ON THE DRIVER SIDE. IT TOOK ALMOST 45 MINUTES FOR A TOW TRUCK TO ARRIVE. SCARY!!!

My car is currently under two recall notices however only one of the issues has been communicated to me of resolution. One being emissions control 25E02 and second being Recall 25S87 REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE LEAK. Recall 1- emissions has been a problem for about 2 years now. Emissions are connected to my engine thus having my check engine light come on. My car failed an emissions test but was only 4 years old and the catalytic converters are not broken, have hole, anything leading to failed test, car repair fees and non-registered vehicle. The second recall is not being fixed, and I have had to replace my brake house, line and rear right brake twice this year. Lastly, I have collision warning however it does not work properly if at all. I was in a minor fender bender when I went to push on brakes the sound to warn me of a collision did not go off until after the crash! I am unsure of the process but if connected to my braking system it failed and if it is a preventative measure it sucks.

I have had to replace my rear brake pads, rotors, and the whole braking system (not related to sensors) three times in a year. I received the recall notice after the third time and had a mechanic fix my brake hose as a short-term remedy for my car. Not only does my car have a delay in breaking it is a delay in the monitoring service. Technically the sounds related to my vehicle are not related to braking at all by the speed in which a car slows down before it breaks. In this case that mean if I slam on my breaks the "emergency sound" does not go off. I have a minor fender bender as well due to these two problems associated with my braking system.

The message "Coolant Overheated" was displayed on the digital display screen. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart as intended. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with an air intake valve fracture and abnormal engine oil consumption. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V635000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

The rear differential appears to be an issue on these vehicles. 2021-2022 models/vehicles were recalled for having an issue with the rear differential. Fortunately there was not an accident with my vehicle as I was able to determine that it shouldn’t be driven. However, I’m told by the dealership that there are 155 vehicles waiting for the same repair (a rear differential replacement), and that the part to repair it is unavailable. With this information, I can’t Imagine how many vehicles are still on the road with this problem. There does not appear to be a recall on older models, nor has this issue been reviewed by the mechanics that work for the company. At the very least, this issue should be reviewed during routine maintenance.

I have spent numerous (more than 3 major problems) For example, a lot of dollars fixing water pump. The design is messed up where they place the water pump. Thousands in labor. The electric driver control malfunction and tire pressure is always lit. This occurred on drive home from brake recall fix. The engine stalls and also leaks. The seat moves sometimes without me wanting it to. The emergency brake slams on and stops and locks the car when in drive or reverse. Lincoln has been zero help and gave false promises.

The contact owns a 2016 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the hood of the vehicle. The contact stated that at start-up there was an abnormal sound coming the hood of the vehicle. The check engine warning light and the tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact then stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle decelerated to approximately 25 MPH and went into LIMP Mode. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.

The major problem occurred right after purchase as check engine light came on. The dealership was no help and refused to take vehicle back. The vehicle is nice looking but the mechanical is a lemon. I purchased this in 2020 and paid $24000. It’s a 2016 Lincoln mkx. I repaired problems and due to covid and my lifestyle I rarely traveled. I have more medical issues and require more frequent doctor visits. I never went back to Brennegen after not standing by this vehicle shortly after purchase. I just tried to focus on the positive and started doing business elsewhere. I maintained proper service. Brennegen did not disclose active recall before purchase. Since purchase I have repaired two problems brakes, and fire risk to engine. At this months regular oils change my current mechanic Dahl ford said the water pump was leaking. The estimated repair is $5000. I paid just to have it diagnosed yesterday as I have not $5000. I followed their advice and parked this. My vehicle is currently not drivable. I investigated and discovered Lincoln Ford has several class action lawsuits filed against them. Many consumers have the water pump problem and unfortunately Lincoln was well informed of this since 2007 and purposely have not fixed the issue. Yet currently many consumers like me are in danger of eminent engine failure and catastrophic failure of Lincoln vehicles. The cost is far more expensive for many and consumers should not be victims of lemons and fraud. Lincoln knew and currently knows of problem. They denied to buy back my vehicle or repair it. The case was just filed yesterday and Lincoln denied it in less than 12 hours. Without any Investigation Or explanation they just told the other department rep to call me back and deny my complaint. I am not the only o e and lawyers are now involved in class action . Please help me start o e I. My area or get Lincoln to stand behind their advertisement as this is a blatant lie. The water pump is too expensive to fix. Please help!

Rear doors would not latch after being opened in 24° weather. This situation happened after the car was preheated outdoors and persisted throughout a 60 mile trip. Car had to be parked with the doors held shut using the seat belts to keep them closed. After returning during above freezing temperatures the door worked as it should. Children had to hold doors shut during trip.

The power steering went completely out while I was driving down the highway. I believe the problem is related to the power steering control module and the electric assist rack and pinion steering. It was the most dangerous situation I ever encountered. I narrowly missed causing an accident. There are several makes of Ford/Lincoln vehicles that have this problem dating back to 2011. The service advance trac displayed, steering assist fault service required displayed, pre collision assist not available displayed, hill assist not available displayed and a few others. They first appeared on Dec. 4th and next appeared around the 28th. The MKX is currently at Joe Machens Lincoln in Columbia, MO being inspected by the dealership and endurance, my warranty company.

While driving, there is an electrical issue that is causing warning alarms to go off for hill-descend control, advance-trac traction control, etc. During this time, there is also a complete loss of power steering and making the vehicle almost impossible to turn. The first incident happened on November 26, 2021 around 7pm were I was able to stop prior to hitting a building. I shut the vehicle off and back on again and the power steering was now working. I was unable to get Lincoln to tow the vehicle because it was "too far" from the roadside tow drivers service area. On the same day, I drove it the rest of the way home but upon exciting the highway around 7:30pm, the power steering again went out and I was able to stop the vehicle prior to going into the ditch next to the road. I had it towed to a Lincoln dealer in Wixom, Michigan but over the weekend could not locate the vehicle and at that point I was talking to an Advisor with Lincoln. They told her it would be at least 5 weeks before they could even look at the vehicle so per her recommendation, it was towed to Lafontaine Lincoln in Flushing, Michigan. It was in the shop until Wednesday, December 15th. I was informed they changed out the steering rack and pinion but was given no paperwork because they told me it was all covered under warranty. On December 21, 2021 while driving on Linden Road in Fenton, Michigan, it did the same thing with my wife driving and resulted in a compete loss of power steering and she went into the oncoming lane around a bend before she was able to get the vehicle stopped. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic. I will be having it towed again to the dealership. Luckily for me, these incidents have only resulted in near-miss situations but this is a major issue and will result in serious accidents if it hasn't already.

DEAD STOPS, ACCELERATOR FELT HARD TO PUSH. HAPPENED BOTH WHEN CARS WERE ON THE SIDE(S) AND NONE CLOSE AT ALL. I GOT TO THE INTERSECTION WITH NO CARS CLOSE ON ALL 4-SIDES. WHEN I PULLED INTO THE INTERSECTION, IT BRAKED TO A COMPLETE STOP AND REFUSED TO MOVE. BY PLAYING WITH THROTTLE AND DRIVE/PARK BUTTONS, I GOT THE CAR MOVING, I PULLED INTO AN OPEN AREA AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTED. WHEN IT OCCURRED, A TEXT MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED SUPERIMPOSED OVER THE TACHOMETER THAT READ: 'CAUTION: IGNITION TURNED OFF'. FORTUNATELY, WHEN IT TURNED OFF, THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTED INTO 'NEUTRAL' INSTEAD OF 'PARK', WHICH IT DOES AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE IGNITION SWITCH IS USED TO TURN THE CAR 'OFF'! THE SERVICE MANAGER AT OUR LINCOLN DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS OCCURRENCE, BUT WE EASILY FOUND TWO (2) WEBSITES DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE REGARDING THE MKX. WE CAN ONLY WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE MAY HAVE ALREADY DIED WITH NO EXPLANATION ABOUT WHY THEY WERE AT A FULL STOP ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. BECAUSE WE RESTARTED THE CAR, THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE "ERROR" HISTORY IN THE COMPUTER WAS ERASED - BAD PROGRAMING! BOTH TIMES OUR INCIDENTS HAPPENED, WE HAD BEEN DRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR HAS BEEN 'IN THE SHOP' AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 WEEKS, AND WE ARE STILL AWAITING AN EXPLANATION AND FIX. I'M NOT SURE I'LL EVER FEEL CONFIDENT/SAFE ENOUGH TO DRIVE IT AGAIN!

VEHICLE IN MOTION LOSES ACCELERATION SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS LOSS LEAVES YOU IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY OR ANY TRAFFIC SITUATION. DATE OF 07/12/17 ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY.DATE OF 06/27/17 INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. 05/19 /17 VEHICLE IN MOTION ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN VEHICLE REACHED 7,000 MILES. WAS INITIALLY TOLD BY ONE DEALER SERVICE TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF VEHICLE WAIT THEN RESTART. NEVER WAS RECALLED BY LINCOLN MOTOR IN SPITE OF NUMEROUS REPORTS BY OWNERS ON CARCOMPLAINTS WEBSITE. WHEN I CONTACTED LINCOLN I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE NTSB TO ISSUE A RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER WHO MADE THE REPAIR THERE IS A RECALL BULLETIN ON THIS ISSUE TO THE DEALERS . NO RECALL NOTICES WERE EVER SENT TO OWNERS AS 07/29/2017

2016 LINCOLN MKX - FWD- LOSES BALANCE WHEN ACCELERATED. ITS WOBBLES/ SWIRLS WHEN STEPPED ON THE GAS ON A CITY STREET OR ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN, LINCOLN DEALERSHIP SERVICES FOREMAN, ADVISER AND DIRECTOR CLAIMED ITS THEIR MKX FWD NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT DISCLOSE THIS DEFECTIVE DESIGN AT THE TIME OF PURCHASING. THERE ARE NO FIXES, AND THE MKX AWD DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM/CHARACTERISTICS. WE HAVE CONTACT THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THE MANAGER SAID THEY TRUSTED THEIR SERVICES ENGINEERS THAT ITS THE NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MKX AWD. BOTH THE ADVISER AND THE CORPORATE MANAGER SAID FOR US TO REPORT TO OUR INSURANCE COMPANY IF WE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECTIVE DESIGN. WE BOUGHT A VERY EXPENSIVE CAR, BUT UNABLE TO USE ITS ABILITIES, BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO ACCELERATE. WHO WOULD BUY A VERY EXPENSIVE CAR AND AFRAID TO STEP ON THE GAS? LINCOLN NEEDS TO DISCLOSE THE MKX FWD- DEFECTIVE DESIGNS THAT THEY CLAIMED TO BE THE NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AT THE TIME OF BUYING. VEHICLE PURCHASED FEBRUARY 2016. ON MARCH 15, 2016 (1,065 MILES), DRIVING VEHICLE APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION ON A BUSY STREET TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY ON-RAMP, VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE IN MOTION AND APPEARED TO ENTER "ACCESSORY MODE". WAS ABLE TO BRING VEHICLE TO STOP (IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION), PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. BROUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY TO LINCOLN SERVICE DEPARTMENT. SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS AND COULD NOT DIAGNOSE OR REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. GAVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME WITHOUT ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIRS. ON MAY 14, 2016 (2,838 MILES), DRIVING AT LOW SPEED ON BACK ROADS, VEHICLE LOST POWER AGAIN WHILE IN MOTION AND ENTERED ACCESSORY MODE. BROUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY TO LINCOLN SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE, BUT FOUND A TSB THAT THEY THOUGHT WOULD APPLY TO THE ISSUE. THE TECHNICIANS REPROGRAMMED THE SOFTWARE IN THE POWER CONTROL MODULE AND GAVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME. ON JUNE 25, 2016 (3,663 MILES), DRIVING AT LOW SPEED ON A MAIN ROAD, VEHICLE LOST POWER AGAIN WHILE IN MOTION AND ENTERED ACCESSORY MODE. BROUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY TO LINCOLN SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS TO ATTEMPT TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER SPEAKING WITH LINCOLN CORPORATE ENGINEERS, THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, ASSUMING THAT WAS WHERE THE ISSUE WAS ORIGINATING. LINCOLN REFUSED TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE AND INSISTED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ISSUE. AS OF OCTOBER 28, 2016, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT LOST POWER AGAIN. *TR

MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN LOSING POWER WHILE I'M DRIVING, LEADING TO SOME VERY CLOSE CALLS ON SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT WILL COME ON, AND SOMETIMES THE "HILL ASSIST" MESSAGE WILL ALSO APPEAR. ONCE POWER IS LOST, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER STEERING AND LITERALLY SHUTS DOWN; THE ACCELERATOR DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE TO BASICALLY LIMP TO SAFETY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY FOUND NOTHING, SENDING ME AWAY ONLY FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. ALL 5 TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, AS I HAVE AVOIDED HIGHWAYS SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. I'VE DONE EXTENSIVE ONLINE RESEARCH, AND HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE.

LED ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS ARE SAID TO MOVE IN COORDINATION WITH THE STEERING ANGLE WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE ACTIVATED BUT DO NOT. EVEN WHEN SET TO AUTOMATIC MODE, HEADLIGHTS WILL ONLY ILLUMINATE IN THE DIRECTION IN WHICH THE VEHICLE IS POINTING PARTIALLY BLINDING DRIVERS IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ADDITIONALLY THE MANUAL STATES ON VEHICLE STARTUP WE SHOULD SEE THE LAMPS TRACK TO A "PREDETERMINED POSITION" THEN CENTER. MINE DOES NOT DO THIS. I ALSO MADE SURE TO DRIVE ABOVE 5MPH AND TURNED MY WHEEL FOR VERY SHARP INTO SHALLOW TURNS. THE MANUAL ALSO SHOWS A WHOLE SUB MENU JUST FOR THE ADAPTIVE LIGHTING. I ALSO DO NOT HAVE THIS MENU. LASTLY THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER IN ADDITION TO THE ANALOG SPEEDOMETER IN THE SETTINGS MENU, THERE IS NOT ONE. THE OWNERS MANUAL CLEARLY STATES THAT IN ORDER TO ACTIVATE THIS FEATURE YOU MUST GO TO SETTINGS MENU UNDER TRIP1 TRIP 2 AND SELECT THE FEATURE. ITS NOT THERE AND MAKE LOOKING DOWN AT THE VERY TINY NUMBERS ON THE ANALOG SPEEDOMETER DIFFICULT DURING DRIVING AND TAKES YOUR ATTENTION AWAY FROM THE ROAD.
