A light came on for steering loss, stop safely and lock down my car. We are unable to drive it. The issue is the same to the recall number 19526 and possibly number 18508. Which my car is listed. The steering becsme difficult to turn and then eventually the light came on for steering loss and the car has been disabled. I looked up our Vin number [XXX] , and it was not included on this recall. The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn in either direction. The messages "Steering Assist Unavailable" and "Hill Assist" were displayed on the instrument cluster. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 121,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, the steering wheel moves up and down. No warning lights were illuminated at the time of the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent where the contact was provided with information regarding NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V167000 (Steering). The owner also contacted an unknown Ford dealer. The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V167000 (Steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer has not been notified. The failure mileage was 123,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the steering wheel became significantly loosened. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V167000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The steering wheel on my 2014 Lincoln MKZ almost came off while driving. An internet search yielded information that there was a 2018 recall on Lincoln and Ford vehicles with the same problem. I took my vehicle to the local Lincoln dealer for repair and asked them to find the recall. They told me that it had not had a recall and refused to fix it based on the recall, but at my expense. The specifics of the recall (Ford reference 18S08) were that it was for 2014-2108 MKZ manufactured in the Hermosillo Assembly Plant in Mexico. Research has shown that my MKZ was manufactured in the Hermosillo Assembly Plant. My complaint is that the recall was for an identical year, make and model in the same manufacturing plant and common sense would tell you that there was a manufacturing defect, but that FORD/Lincoln did not capture all the affected vehicles. This is a serious and dangerous problem. The steering wheel almost came off in my hands 9 years later. Lincoln should be required to identify the vehicles manufactured in that facility during that time period that were not identified for recall and contact those owners for repair at their expense. I contacted Lincoln corporate recall center and while somewhat helpful with information, they were totally uninterested in my suggestions.

DTC CODE P188B - AWD CLUTCH CONTROL CIRCUIT AWD SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, AWD TURNED OFF DURING DRIVING NORMAL MODE. RESTART THE CAR THE AWD SYSTEM IS BACK ON, DEALER CANNOT FIX IT UNLESS YOU GET TO THEM WITH THE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ON. MANAGED FEW TIMES TO BRING IT TO THEM WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, THEY CHANGED TWO TIMES THE AWD MODULE THE FAULT STILL RETURNS. THE DEALER STILL SAYS THAT IS FIXED WHEN OBVIOUSLY IS NOT.

OUTER BEARING FAILURE IN TRANSMISSION RESULTING IN METAL-TO-METAL BEARING DESTRUCTION AND ACCORDING TO FORD TECHNICIANS ONCE COMPLETE FAILURE OCCURS WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY STOP WHEN DRIVING. FORD-LINCOLN ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION OR VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE VIN BUT IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR OTHER FORD AND LINCOLNS FOR THIS PROBLEM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE ONLY RESOLUTION IS A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION AS THE TRANSMISSION CAN NOT BE REPAIRED. THE OLD CORE TRANSMISSION WAS REQUIRED TO BE SENT BACK TO FORD-LINCOLN. THE FACTORY TRANSMISSION IS WARRANTIED FOR 60,000 MILES AND IN MY SPECIFIC CASE THE VEHICLE HAD 110,000 MILES. THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IS BELIEVED TO HAVE ENGINEERING CHANGES TO PRECLUDE THIS BEARING FAILURE AND HAS A WARRANTY OF 100,000 MILES. THE CHIEF CONCERN IS THAT FORD-LINCOLN IS WELL AWARE OF THE PENDING TRANSMISSION FAILURE SO MUCH THAT THEY ISSUED AN INTERNAL TSB ADDRESSING THE ISSUE, BUT NOT SO CONCERNED TO SEND ANY CORRESPONDENCE TO OWNERS OF VEHICLES CONTAINING THIS TRANSMISSION AND THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES SHOULD IT FAIL, WHICH APPARENTLY COULD BE CATASTROPHIC AND LIFE-THREATENING TO OCCUPANTS AND POTENTIALLY OTHER VEHICLES DRIVING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. ALSO, IN SPEAKING TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ON THEIR NATIONAL CALL LINE FOR CONCERNS, THE AGENT WAS CERTAIN I DID NOT HAVE A TRANSMISSION SUBJECT TO FAILURE, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS THE TSB IN EFFECT WHICH I MENTIONED ABOVE. SHE INDICATED THAT DID NOT RELATE TO MY VEHICLE WHEN I QUESTIONED HER FURTHER. BOTH FORD MECHANIC AND A CERTIFIED MECHANIC NOT ASSOCIATED WITH FORD BOTH INDICATED THE TRANSMISSION IN MY LINCOLN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TSB FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. NEW 2014 LINCOLN MKZ HYBRID BOUGHT ON 12/12/14 GOES INTO GEAR WHILE IN PARK WITHOUT PRESSING BRAKE AND WITH BLINKING GREEN LIGHT ON (ACCESSORY MODE & NOT DRIVE). FROM INITIAL PURCHASE 9NOW 9 MONTHS AGO) THIS HAPPENED ABOUT A COUPLE OF DOZEN TIMES - THERE ARE WITNESSES (INCLUDING PASSENGERS RIDING IN THE CAR) WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED. CAR IS DANGEROUS AT 0 MPH. -Rear view camera will only work 20% of the time at best. -The outside trunk button does not work at all, but the trunk button on the remote and inside the vehicle work. -The heated and cooling seats seldomly work. - The vehicle has randomly shut down, followed by trouble starting while in park on a few occasions in the last few years. -

An electrical overload occurs below the passengers seat, burning out the electrical connector, requiring a costly repair and can be a fire hazard. This is the second time this vehicle had this electrical problem and has required repair. The dealer has confirmed this problem, but has no solution, only to replace the same parts. There is not notification this issue is occurring, the only evidence of the problem is the heated/cooled seats stop working.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB DAVIDSON FORD LINCOLN (1845 E JOPPA RD, PARKVILLE, MD 21234, (410) 661-6400) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,500.

Rear backup camera works intermittently. Can be backing up and viewing screen goes dark. Original equipment, no damage to automobile. Has been malfunctioning for several months now.

Rear view camera failure. When the vehicle is put in reverse, the rear view camera does not come on creating a safety hazard while backing up since you don't always have a line of sight due to other vehicles parked next to you. A warning message eventually pops up that says "Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership." The dealership diagnosed the problem on July 2, 2024 shortly after the problem started and advised that the camera needs to be replaced. The cost at that time would have been $1,230 plus tax to replace it and I have already spent $166.60 for the diagnotics. The car is available for inspection. A recall has been issued by Ford for rear view camera failures. My car is not included in the recall but I feel the recall should be extended to include my car and VIN as this is a safety hazard due to equipment failure. I have attached a copy of the invoice and quote from the Ford dealership. I am also attaching photos of the camera failure taken while the vehicle is in reverse.

FOR THE SECOND ONE TIME IN A MONTH MY LOCKING MECHANISM ON MY 2014 LINCOLN MKZ HYBRID. FORD IS RECALLING VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIPS SAY MY VIN NUMBER ISN'T PART OF IT. 2 DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENTS IS 800.00. DOOR LATCH DEFECTIVE. I HAD A DEFECTIVE LATCH REPLACED BY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP ONE YEAR AGO. THIS WAS THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. ON 7/11/19, MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH IS NOW DEFECTIVE. I CONTACTED MY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND THEY EXPLAINED MY WARRANTY IS NOT VALID, THEREFORE, THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST. I CONTACTED LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE, RECALL DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOO SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE 2ND DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH, DUE TO NO WARRANTY. THEY EXPLAINED THEY UNDERSTOOD THIS IS THE 2ND DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH AND THIS DOOR LATCH ISSUE IS PART OF RECALL. HOWEVER, MY VIN# IS NOT PART OF RECALL, BUT MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR ARE INCLUDED IN RECALL.

On 7/5/2020, I experienced a sudden brake loss on my vehicle. To stop the vehicle I had push the brake pedal down to the floor board. On 7/6/2020 I had the vehicle towed to David McDavid dealership in Plano, TX to have the brake problem fixed and it was returned to me on 7/10/2020. On 6/14/2021 I had the same brake problem again and I called the same dealer and I just took in this date 6/15/2021. After reviewing the brake recalls involving other Ford/Lincoln models, I believe the 2014 MKZ should be included in the brake recall.

I WAS HEADING TO WORK AND I DIDN'T SEE ANY ISSUE ON MY DASHBOARD THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. I DROVE THE CAR THREE BLOCKS AND THE CAR STOPPED ALL OF SUDDEN WHILE I WAS IN DRIVING MODE. I CALL THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO TOW THE CAR TO THEM. THE DEALER CALLS ME THE NEXT DAY AND SAID YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM WIRES WERE CHEWED BY AN ANIMAL. I ASKED WHY MY BREKE ALERT DIDN'T SHOW UP ON THE DASHBOARD, THEY COULDN'T EXPLAIN AND KEEP ASKING ME TO PAY FOR IT. I TOLD THEM I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF I WAS GOING IN HIGH SPEED AND THE CAR BRAKE SYSTEM STOP ANY TIME. I FEEL LIKE THERE IS A FAULT THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. THIS IS REALLY NOT SAFE WHEN YOUR MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CAR SYSTEM WIRES IS CHEWED BY AN ANIMAL AND I DON'T SEE ANY INDICATOR SHOWING ME ANY ISSUE RELATED TO IT. I NORMALLY SEE WHEN AN OIL CHANGE IS A NEED, LOW TIRE AIR, THE DOOR IS OPEN, ALL THOSE SIGNS SHOW ON THE DASHBOARD, BUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM DIDN'T WARN ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG. I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH LINCOLN WITH BRAKES AND ELECTRIC ISSUES. THEY DENIED THAT THEY DON'T COVER SUCH ISSUES. I DON'T EVEN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR EVEN IF THEY FIX, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T PROVE HOW LONG THE WIRES WERE CHEWED AND WHY THE BRAKE INDICATOR DIDN'T SHOW UP. I HAVE REPORTED THIS CASE TO THE LINCOLN HEADQUARTERS, BUT NO HELP FROM THEM. THEY KEEP SAYING YOU HAVE TO WORK WITH YOUR LOCAL DEALERS. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL NEEDED TO BE PUMPED IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT NOTICED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FOX FORD LINCOLN (2501 N ELSTON AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60647, (773) 687-7800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE LINE WAS RUPTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.

I WAS TRAVELING IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 10 MPH WHEN I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE CAR WOULD NOT REACT I THEN APPLIED BOTH FEET STANDING ON THE PEDAL ANNOUNCING I WASN'T STOPPING AND NUDGED INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. IT LEFT ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND NONE TO THE ONE I HIT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE BRAKES SEEMS TO WORK AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING AND THEY REVIEWED THE ISSUE FOR A FEW DAYS AND COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND SAID EVERYTHING TESTED FINE. I FRANKLY DO NOT TRUST THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND WILL NOW ONLY DRIVE IT MYSELF. I AM A RETIRED POLICE OFFICER AND FORMER EMPLOYEE OF NHTSA REGION 8 WITH 20 YEARS OF CRASH RECONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE AND I HAVE NEVER PERSONALLY HAD A BRAKE FAILURE SO IT IS CONCERNING. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN MY 2014 LINCOLN MKZ 2.0 ECOBOOST I ATTEMPTED TO MATCH THE SPEED OF THE FAST LANE AND MERGE. WHEN ACCELERATING THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUDDER ALMOST STALL WITH NO POWER. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS.

PURCHASED THIS CAR USED (ONE OWNER) - HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE 9/2017 WITH NO PROBLEMS. LAST WEEK (5/04/18) CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND TO START BUTTON. THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A FLUKE SO DISREGARDED THIS ISSUE AS IT DID FINALLY START AFTER 5-6 TRIES. LAST NIGHT (5/12/18) WHILE TRAVELING ON A BACK ROAD (APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH) THE CAR SHUT OFF TOTALLY. LOSS OF STEERING/BRAKES. MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR ON THE SHOULDER. INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE THE AMBER WRENCH (POWERTRAIN) AND A ANOTHER RED SQUARE (NOT SURE WHAT SYMBOL). IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES BEFORE CARE WOULD RESTART. TAKING TO DEALERSHIP ON 5/14 AND HOPING THEY DO NOT TELL ME THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY ISSUES. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER OWNERS HERE THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. THIS COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IF WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY!

THE DOOR LATCH OF THE PASSENGER DOOR IS BROKEN. THIS IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH LINCOLN RECALL # 17V210000 DOOR LATCH RECALL. THERE WAS ALSO A SECOND RECALL # 15S16 THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. IGNITION OFF. A DOOR THAT FUNCTIONED FINE EARLIER IN THE DAY, SUDDENLY WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. ON CLOSER INSPECTION, DOOR LATCH WAS BROKEN.

WHEN CLOSING THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH TO CLOSE SECURELY. THE LATCH IS STUCK OPEN. WE WERE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT AND WITH SOME WORK GOT IT TO LATCH CLOSED UNTIL WE GOT HOME. WHEN WE OPEN AND THEN CLOSED THE DOOR AGAIN, THE SAME THING HAPPEN AND THE LATCH IT STUCK SO IT WILL NOT LATCH TO SECURELY CLOSE. CURRENTLY I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THE ISSUE.

The problem with this car is that the backup camera stopped working on my car. The line are gone and the image is reversed. The dealing told me it was the camera and it was almost $1,000 to replace it. I did notdo it, but now I am finding many othes with the same broplem. The safety issue is that when I back up and I am not sure if what I am seeing is accurate.

Car has always performed a good cold start. But, after running a while, the following has happened, and is happening more frequently: run the car, park, and then restarting after several minutes, I have put it in gear and the engine sputters and stalls. Then has to turn over several times to restart. This has also happened after running for a while and then stopping at a long red-light, engine sputtered and stalled. Also happens when engine is warmed up and sitting still, just idling. Sputtered and stalls. With always the same result on restart, has to turn over, and over, several times. These incidences are identical to the problems described in Safety Recall Notice 16S31, which includes various other ford's and lincolns(mks, mkt) of years 2013-2015, but leaves out the mkz.

I push my start button and it makes the starting nose and after a few minutes it starts and when I go to move it stalls out and then won't start again or starts and stalls again. But the next day drives fine. And it has been happening now for months even after we fixed the high rich codes it was giving out but now there's no codes appearing.

User interface for HVAC, entertainment system, and everything through the Ford Sync screen is unusable. Had this repaired 11 months prior. Issue returned. Dealer says , “There are several things going on with it. 1 The front inter face control module 2. Display screen and 3. APIM. Parts labor and tax it would run $2,670.00.” There are many instances of reports of these issues with not only the MKZ models, but with many of Ford’s lineup including Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Safety implications are uncontrollable heat (unsafe temperature levels and fatigue inducing), uncontrollable sound levels (distracting and can’t hear environment), loss of hands free, loss of backup camera.

12M02 -- I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR THIS EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN TWICE DURING WHILE IT WAS STILL ACTIVE. BOTH TIMES THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO PLAY IT OFF AS "NOT UNDER THE WARRANTY" AND "SOFTWARE ISSUE NOT HARDWARE". THEY EVEN CHARGED ME FOR THE SERVICE OVER $250 WORTH OF "UPDATES". THAT DID NOT EVEN FIX THE ISSUE WITH THE DISPLAY TURING OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING MAKING MOST OF THE VEHICLES FUNCTIONS USELESS. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW DENYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND FORD/LINCOLN IS CLAIMING IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN I TOOK IT IN ALREADY TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE AND WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND ROBBED $250 WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THE DISPLAY (APM MODULE) TO FIX THE ISSUE AS PER FORDA INSTRUCTIONS. I was sitting in idle staying warm in car. When I decided to leave, I noticed I couldn't turn the steering wheel or that it was very difficult to steer. I have not had this issue inspected. The warning lights that was on before was "service advancedtrac", "collision warning not available" "drive control malfunction service required". I called Sons Ford Auburn where they stayed there was no recall for this issue. I also called Lincoln customer service where they told me the recall doesn't fall under my vehicle due to it being a hybrid and that I don't have the bolts associated with the recall.

There were original rear struts on the vehicle. When we purchased it. We replaced the rear struts about 4 years ago. Drivers rear was clunking and leaking. We are in need to replace again now. Clunking but also bouncing around which scared me terrible on Highway. I just don’t think in 9 years and 85,000 (approx) miles. You should have to have three different sets. I think there is a problem with the drivers struts.

I INFORM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY ON MY LINCOLN HAS BEEN RECALLED, WHICH IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW TO A RECORD NUMBER OF AMERICANS, BUT IT'S EVEN WORSE WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOUR CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED AND CAN'T GET THE MANUFACTURER TO SERVICE IT AT A DEALERSHIP. WHEN YOU'RE TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS OR NO TECHNICIANS TO FIX YOUR CAR, WHAT DO YOU DO? I WAS TOLD IT'S NOT THAT BAD AND DIDN'T NEED TO BE REPLACING RIGHT NOW. HAD MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICE ON RECALL 18S08, THAT IS WHEN THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T PUT THE LUG NUTS BACK ON MY CAR, AND THE WHEEL FELL OFF THE CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. THE LUGS NUTS SWELL, CRACK AND DELAMINATE TO THE POINT SPECIAL TOOLS ARE NEEDED TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS. HAD 3 BLOWOUT DUE TO THE WHEEL FRAME WAS BENT, AND WAS REPLACE DURING THE DAMAGE THE DEALERSHIP DONE TO THE CAR. PICTURE WAS PROVIDED TO LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY. I WAS NOTIFIED BY LINCOLN ABOUT NHTSA 14V-597, AND OF THE DATE STILL NOT REPAIRED. TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS THAT COULD EXPLODE VIOLENTLY DESPITE CONTAINING A CHEMICAL MEANT TO LESSEN THE RISK OF THE SHRAPNEL-SHOOTING RUPTURES. BUT FORD IS LOOKING TO AVOID ANOTHER COSTLY RECALL. CAN'T FIND THE NATSA# MY LINCOLN NOW UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR BRAKE FAILURE. A SIGNIFICANT DEFECT CAN MAKE MY CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I'VE BEEN HAVING THE IDIOT LIGHT COME ON WITH LIGHTNING BOLT WORDS CHECK YOUR BRAKES. THE MESSAGE I GOT WAS THEY WERE GOING TO CLOSE THE CASE# BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO REMEDY FOR ME. THEY DISCOVER MY WARRANTY ON THE CAR IS RUNNING OUT AND DON'T WANT TO BE BOTHER WITH THE PROBLEM.

VEHICLE SUDDENLY DIES WHEN DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ONE MONTH AGO. BROUGT IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE BOLT RECALL AND STALLED WHILE DEALER WAS TRYING TO PULL IT INTO THE BAY. AFTER THAT POINT, THE VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVNG ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. WENT TO THE MECHANIC ONE TWO OCCASIONS AND NO CODES PULLED. CALLED DEALER AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO GO TO A FORD DEALER. WENT TO FORD DEALER ONE CODE PULLED (FUEL INJECTOR) WAS REPLACED RECOMMENDED I CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND REPLACE BATTERY WHICH I AGREED TO. FORTY MINUTES AFTER LEAVING DEALER AS I WAS OULLING OUT OF A PARKIGN LOT THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED AGAIN ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE HIT BY A BOX TRUCK BEHIND ME. THE CAR IS BACK AT THE DEALER AND ONCE AGAIN NO CODES ARE COMING UP AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WENT ONTO MKZ FORUMS AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM NOT ADDRESSED WHICH IS CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN FOR BOTH MYSELF AND OTHERS SINCE THERE ARE NO ANSWERS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.

MY CAR HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES SINCE THE DAY I HAVE PURCHASED IT. AGAIN, LAST WEEK, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIT UP WITH NUMEROUS CODES. I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS. THE CODES CLEARED AND THEY CANNOT ROOT CAUSE THE ISSUE. IN ADDITION, WHEN I HAVE BEEN AT A STOP LIGHT THE DRIVER'S SEAT REGRESSES BACKWARDS, AND THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR MOVES AT THE SAME TIME.

I HAVE CONSTANT ISSUES WITH THE POWER DECK LID NOT WORKING WHEN IT IS COLD, IT WONT EVEN POP THE TRUNK. THIS MORNING I EXPERIENCED A DEAD BATTERY AND WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE JUMPED AND STARTED, THE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON AS WELL AS A TRACTION CONTROL, HILL START WARNINGS AND THE POWER STEERING ISNT WORKING AT ALL. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I AM UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL.

INCIDENT 1: WHILE FILLING GAS TANK I LEFT THE HOSE UNATTENDED WHILE I WAITED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE PRESSURE IN THE TANK FROM FILLING THE VEHICLE WAS ENOUGH TO PUSH THE GAS SPOUT OUT OF THE TANK. AS A RESULT ABOUT 3 GALLONS OF FUEL SPILLED ON THE FLOOR. INCIDENT2: WHILE FILLING GAS TANK I WAS STANDING OVER THE HOSE, NOT HOLDING THE HANDLE. I WAS WAITING TO FILL UP THE VEHICLE. I WITNESSED THE SPOUT POP OUT OF THE GAS TANK AND GASOLINE SPILLED ON MY SHIRT, PANTS AND SHOES. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE WITH ANY VEHICLE.
