I own a 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 with the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder M270 engine. The check-engine light came on and an OBD-II scan showed fault code P052E / P052E71, which indicates that the valve for crankcase ventilation (PCV / crankcase ventilation valve integrated into the valve cover) has a malfunction and the actuator is blocked. The vehicle is available for inspection and, if the repair is performed, the failed part can be retained. This appears to be the same failure that has been documented by other owners and by Mercedes-Benz on the related M274 engine used in other models (same 2.0L turbo engine family and PCV / crankcase ventilation design, but in a longitudinal layout). For those vehicles, Mercedes has issued technical service bulletins and extended emissions-related warranty coverage for the crankcase ventilation / PCV system, but vehicles like my CLA with the M270 engine are excluded even though they show the same DTCs and failure. In my case, the problem has so far shown up as a check-engine light and stored fault codes, without obvious drivability symptoms yet. However, a blocked or failed crankcase ventilation valve can increase crankcase pressure, cause oil leaks, fuel vapor or oil smells, and potential turbocharger or drivability issues, which may create a safety risk if the problem worsens (loss of power or stalling). The problem has been reproduced multiple times with different OBD-II scan tools. I contacted Mercedes-Benz and was told there are no recalls or warranty coverage for this issue on my vehicle.

My engine light is and as per mechanics I have seen it is a very common problem with mercedes benz around crankcase ventilation actuator. As per mechanics its faulty part and mercedes have changed it for new models but there is no recall on the older models. Cost to repair the part is around $3500. Issue with the part if causing environment problem as mileages is reduced and more fuel burning. This eventually impacts the engine and car.

catalytic converter Got clogged up and car would loose power and not get enough air into engine and catalytic converter right next to the turbo under the heat shield would turn glowing red causing turbo to leak it’s fluids

I was driving down the highway without any vehicles in front of me at around 65mph when all of a sudden my panoramic roof exploded out of nowhere, it sounded like a gunshot going off inside the car and I nearly crashed my vehicle from the sudden explosion, I luckily had the glass shade cover up and glass did not fall in my face, I had my [XXX] daughter and [XXX] son in the backseat and they are now terrified to get back into any vehicle. This is extremely dangerous situation and will cause a serious accident in the future if not fixed. Nothing hit my roof and I wasn’t even using it at the time no one touched the thing, it just exploded out of nowhere. When accelerating, the car loses power. My teenager was almost hit by another car as she was trying to enter the highway via an off-ramp. It happens very often. This started occurring at 60k! When stopped with your foot on the brake or even in park, the car goes slams backward and cuts the engine back to a rev. This has been occurring since 37k. Additionally, there is a loud clunking noise when you turn the wheel. This has been occurring since 50k. Power seat on driver’s side loses all power and locks. This has been replaced/repaired three times! Glove box locked and will not unlock even with key. The sunroof no longer works. Found pieces of plastic in the guide rails as the shoe horn pieces seems to be broken apart and had to force my sunroof to close and now it whistles as I am on the highway. I have seen hundreds of complains about this on the Mercedes Benz message boards

my son was driving it on highway and noticed smoke and fire from rear driver side. Thankfully he was able to get car on shoulder and the whole car lit up in flame. Firefighters and Police rescued them and there was no indication on what started this fire. Police has filed report as misc that it could be from car fuel line or such, there was no other problems with car and it has been services by Mercedes dealer all along.

Please let me preface this by saying that I am a certified aircraft mechanic and have a good working knowledge of cars. My vehicle had NO prior indications, symptoms or abnormalities! This was completely out of the blue. Absolutely no warning that this was going to happen. The transmission of my 2014 CLA 250 Base model, while operating at 65mph on the interstate, all on its own, went into neutral and now will not engage into Drive. Initially following this incident, as I dogged the other vehicles on the interstate and coasted to the emergency lane, there were the following warning lights: ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, PARKING BRAKE accompanied with the alerts….PRE-SAFE Functions Limited, ABS/TRACTION CONTROL Currently Unavailable See O.M., Parking Brake See O.M. I then took it to the MB dealership and after they attempted transmission adaptation (which was not successful) they showed me the following fault codes: 079200-RPM sensor 1 has a malfunction, 287C00-Adaptation was not completed successfully. The alerts now state….Service Required: Do Not Shift Gears, visit dealer. The dealer wanted to change the transmission. I refused. I have had zero noticeable issues with the transmission with 72,000 miles. I had the transmission fluid replaced at 65,000 miles. I baby the car. I shouldn’t need to explain the dangers of a vehicle, while driving, randomly shifting into neutral, and not being able to be shifted back into Drive. I attempted all possible means of shifting the automatic transmission into drive, including the use of manual gear selection, and none of them worked, even after shutting the vehicle off and restarting multiple times. This is an extremely DANGEROUS malfunction!!

The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA45. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the contact heard a grinding sound coming from underneath the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over safely but found no issues. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the rear differential to be replaced. The dealer changed the differential fluids but did not replace the rear differential. The contact drove the vehicle home and noticed that the vehicle was leaking fluid. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I JUST REPLACED THE VALVE BODY IN MY VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE I WAS A MERCEDES-BENZ TECHNICIAN AND SOME FRIENDS ADVISE ME TO DO THIS BUT THEN I GOT THE CODE THAT SAID THAT THE Y3/14 WHICH IS LISTED IN THE 2016 MODELS. WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WILL PUT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL. IT'S HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WE'VE BROUGHT THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP EACH TIME IT'S HAPPENED YET IT STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND MERCEDES NEEDS TO LOOK INTO A FIX ASAP BEFORE THEY HAVE A LAWSUIT ON THEIR HANDS. IN ADDITION, THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAS ALREADY HAD TO BE REPLACED! SO FAR, TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE ABOUT THE VEHICLE PUTTING ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL THE DEALERSHIP DID A TRANSMISSION CONTROL UPDATE AND REPLACED THE VALVE BODY. IT'S NOW BACK FOR A THIRD TIME AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WE'VE TOLD THEM THAT WE AREN'T PICKING IT BACK UP UNTIL THEY CAN GUARANTEE TEE THE ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. WHEN ACCELERATING HARD TO OVERTAKE, THE ENGINE LURCHES, AND THE CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE FURTHER AND SLOWS DOWN. THE ENGINE FAULT LIGHT THEN ILLUMINATES WHICH SWITCHED OFF BY ITSELF AFTER SWITCHING THE ENGINE OFF TWICE. YESTERDAY I WAS TRAVELLING BACK HOME FROM OFFICE IN THE EVENING ON HIGHWAY, AND SUDDENLY MY CLA250 STARTED SHOWING MESSAGE ON CONSOLE SAYING "PRE SAFE FEATURES LIMITED - SEE OPERATORS MANUAL' AND "VEHICLE INOPERATIVE - SEE OPERATORS MANUAL" AND LOST ITS THROTTLE, I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, FROM 50MPH I CAME DOWN TO 20MPH WITHIN SECONDS AND IT WAS VERY SCARY AS THERE WERE VEHICLES BEHIND ME THINKING WHAT I WAS UPTO. I IMMEDIATELY SWITCHED ON FLASHERS AND TRIED MY BEST TO PULL IT BACK TO SMALL SPACE BETWEEN DIVIDER AND EXIT, THERE WAS NO PROPER SHOULDER SPACE SO GOT SOME SCRATCHES ON MY CAR. I HAD PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM DEALER AS CERTIFIED PREOWNED VEHICLE JUST TWO MONTHS AGO, AND THIS WAS FIRST TIME I WAS IN SUCH PATHETIC SITUATION. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANT AND THEY WERE READY TO SEND TOWING TRUCK, MEANWHILE I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED IT AND ALL THE MESSAGES DISAPPEARED AND EVERYTHING LOOKED OKAY. I MADE A DECISION TO GO BACK HOME, AS IF MY CAR WERE TO BE TOWED LATE IN THE EVENING , I WOULDN'T GET CAR BACK THE SAME DAY,AND SERVICE CENTER IS LIKE 30 MILES AWAY AND THERE IS NOBODY TO DROP ME BACK HOME. WITH DISTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL ON AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN PASSING A LARGE TRUCK THE DISTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL TAKES OVER AND APPLIES BRAKES HARD ALMOST CAUSING AND ACCIDENT. WE HAVE HAD IT IN A NUMEROUS OF TIME BUT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE THIS HAS HAPPEN A NUMBER OF TIMES. WE HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH MERCEDES BUT HAS DENIED TO A BUY BACK. I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS MANY OTHERS. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN THE LEFT LANE AT 65 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO 0 AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN OFF THE CAR. THIS FIRST HAPPENED TO ME TWICE IN DECEMBER 2013. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID SEVERAL THINGS TO TRY AND FIX IT. THEY TOLD ME THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. I WAS SCARED TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR, BUT THEY ASSURED ME IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. BUT, THE SAME ISSUE JUST HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN (JUNE 2016). WHY HASN'T MERCEDES DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THIS? I DON'T WAN TO DRIVE A CAR THAT LOSES SPEED WHILE I'M ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, IT'S NOT SAFE.

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SUDDENLY FAILED. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ANY INPUT OF THE GAS PEDAL. I PUMPED THE PEDAL, FLOORED THE PEDAL ALL WITH NO RESPONSE. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT REV PAST IDLE AND THE CAR LOST SPEED MAKING CHANGING LANES DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. THE ERROR MESSAGES SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE (11/30/15 AND 12/6/15).

The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA45. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the glass panel between the front windshield and the sunroof suddenly detached. The contact inspected the vehicle and found information on NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V854000 (Structure). The dealer was contacted and informed the contact the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection, the contact observed excessive rust underneath the rear subframe. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Extended Warranty–Rear Subframe Damage Code: 35441 47. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact called a dealer and was informed that there was a recall for the panel separation, however, the VIN was not included. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V197000 (Structure). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

While driving on the freeway the glass piece between the windshield and sunroof flew off of the car, causing a major safety hazard.

The vehicle had been previously serviced in 2019 by a Mercedes-Benz dealership. The panel between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof was replaced due to paint issues. While driving down the highway, I heard a constant noise but was unable to locate it when driving above 60 mph, after a few minutes the panel ripped off the car onto traffic behind. Thankfully the car behind me was able to brake and was not struck directly by the panel, but did run it over. This VIN is currently not in recall for this issue, but the car does meet the criteria for recall. Recall date 2021-03-18 Recall no. 21V197000 Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2017-2020 C300 Coupe, C43 Coupe AMG, C43 AMG, 2015-2020 C300, GLA250, 2016-2018 C350e, CLA45 Coupe AMG, 2015 C400, S65 AMG, 2015-2019 C63 AMG, 2016 C450, 2015-2016 GLA45 AMG, S600, 2016-2020 GLC300, 2017-2019 GLC43 AMG, GLE43 Coupe AMG, 2014-2019 CLA250 Coupe, 2014-2015 CLA45 AMG, 2018 GLC63 AMG, 2014-2017 S550, 2018-2020 S450, 2016-2019 GLE63 Coupe AMG, 2016 GLE450 Coupe, 2014-2020 S63 AMG, 2018-2019 S560, and 2019 GLC350e vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof. The front roof panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof may not have been bonded correctly to the vehicle during a prior repair. Recall consequence The adhesive bonding of the front panel might deteriorate, possibly causing the front panel to detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. Recall action Mercedes-Benz dealer will remove the bonded panel and will install a new front panel by following the detailed repair instructions and using the approved primer, cleaner and adhesive, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 3, 2021 and October 26, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Component failure was steering column module. Safety issue was air bag could inadvertently deploy while driving. Recall NHTSA # 17V627 was issued. Vehicle inspected by Stargate Garage, Caliber Collision and Mercedes of Pompano Beach FL. Message displayed was front left malfunction and red warning light for SRS system. Warning message and red light appeared 18 months after dealer supposedly repaired this recalled item. Vehicle was returned to dealer to make proper repair on this recalled item and they refused to replace it. Steering column module was replace by Stargate Garage and the message left front malfunction and red light warning SRS no longer appears on instrument panel. Stargate Garage was paid $685 to make this repair which should have been the dealer's responsibility. Therefor I am requesting that the dealer reimburse me my out of pocket expense of $685.00 since it was there responsibility to make this repair under the recall that was issued. I was unable to upload my documentation so I will also be sending this information in the mail.

ON 12/26/19 CONTACTED BENZ DEALER IN WEST CALDWELL, NJ. EXPLAINED TO REP. THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR FAULTY AIRBAGS THAT WHEN THEY ARE DEPLOYED HAD METAL AND COULD CAUSE HARM OR DEATH TO PASSENGERS. THE REP INDICATED THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN MY AIRBAGS WOULD BE REPLACED. SHE PUT IN A CALL TO SERVICE DEPT. SO ME AND MY FAMILY, INCLUDING GRANDCHILDREN HAVE TO RIDE AROUND IN A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE AND THE BENZ DEALER SEEM AS THOUGH THEY JUST DON'T CARE. RECEIVED THE CAR NEW IN NOVEMBER 2013 AND IMMEDIATELY REPORTED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE VIEW MIRROR WOULD NOT ADJUST TO THE LEFT ENOUGH TO ADEQUATELY SEE VEHICLES IN THE LEFT LANE. THE BLIND SPOT WAS THE LARGEST I HAVE EVER SEEN ON ANY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE DRIVEN. I was driving my 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 on [XXX] traveling away from Fairfax County and towards Prince William County on Christmas morning right before [XXX]. The front right passenger side wheel started shaking and then flew off. I brought the car to a stop on the left hand shoulder of the road on three wheels. My wheel hit the metal fence and then ricocheted back across to the left crossing both sides of traffic (four lanes), hitting a concrete wall and becoming airborne before landing in the stream below. It was sunny and there was no rain. Speed was 45 mph. Witnesses observed the incident and I have their contact information. A police report was filed. The contact stated that when the vehicle stalled, an audible chime sounded, and the air bag warning light illuminated, and a RED triangle symbol flashed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the instrument cluster went blank, and the vehicle lost power steering assist. Additionally, the brake pedal was very difficult to depress. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts, and the vehicle returned to normal functionality. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY IN LEFT LANE DOING AROUND 60MPH AND CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE TAKING AWAY ALL THROTTLE CONTROL. Apparently the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) which is built into the gas pedal on this 2014 MB CLA250 only lasts so long before it becomes defective under highway conditions and causes the vehicle to go into LIMP MODE. When full acceleration is necessary, the unit will work for perhaps a few months or less, and then continue to fail worse and more frequently with each attempt at full acceleration. At highway speeds, this is an essential feature in a 4-cylinder vehicle such as this one and without the necessary acceleration capability, can expose the driver to serious risk of collision with other on-coming vehicles traveling at highway speeds. This "Limp Mode" features is extremely dangerous and hazardous to not only the driver of their vehicle, but to other drivers around them since they are left in a devastating position of being unable to accelerate normally and as necessary and as one would expect in any vehicle, let alone a Mercedes Benz. Never before have I driven a car that falls out of full acceleration mode only to subject the driver to serious collision circumstances. Whoever the imbecile is at MB engineering who incorporated this Limp Mode Feature should be fired!!! To make matters worse, this cheaply built TPS, which is the cause of the problem in my vehicle specifically, was only warrantied twice by the dealer and now they will not replace it under warranty which is a two-year period. I've only had the part 5 months before it failed again due to poor manufacturing and I had to pay all over again for a new one despite my warranty validity. There have been many other MB owners who have the same complaint for Limp Mode, which tells me that it's definitely not me, but rather the poorly built or engineered vehicle, as a matter of fact. MB has denied having these complaints to me, which of course, is a lie. That's misleading and deceptive business practices in my State and MB needs to live up to its warranty provisions and respect its customers.

PURCHASED MY NEW CLA250 IN SEPTEMBER 2014. IN AUGUST OF 2015 MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON THE NJ GARDEN STATE PARKWAY!. THE PRE-SAFE WARNING WAS PRESENT ON MY DASHBOARD. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR CATASTROPHE KILLING ME AND OTHERS. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND DROVE TO MY DESTINATION MAKING SURE I STAYED IN THE RIGHT LANE ON THE PARKWAY. IT FAILED 2 MORE TIMES WHILE NOT ON THE HIGHWAY BUT STILL A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TOOK THE CAR (WHICH HAD 16,000 MILES) TO A MERCEDES DEALERSHIP WHEN I RETURNED AND THEY PERFORMED A SERIES OF TESTS. THEY FOUND A PRODUCT TECHNICAL SUPPORT SYSTEM UPDATE WHICH INVOLVED UPDATING THE SOFTWARE. THE FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN UNTIL NOV. 2017. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A BUS IN PHILADELPHIA WHEN MY CAR DECIDED TO STOP ACCELERATING. FINALLY, DRIVING TO THE AIRPORT DOING 70MPH THE CAR AGAIN DISPLAYED THE PRE-SAFE WARNING AND RAPIDLY SLOWED DOWN ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH ON I-78 IN NJ. TOOK THE CAR TO A MERCEDES DEALERSHIP NEAR ME AND THEY SAID SINCE THE CAR IS 2,000 MILES BEYOND THE 50,000 MILE WARRANTY IT'S NOT COVERED. THEY ARE REPLACING A SERIES OF PARTS THAT WILL COST ME OVER $4,000 TO REPAIR! THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THIS WILL EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM. IS MERCEDES WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THIS CAR HAS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM? ACCELERATING FROM AN INTERSECTION AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE ENGINE BEGAN CHUGGING AND THUMPING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IMMEDIATELY AND THE ECO LIGHT STARTED FLASHING . As I was driving yesterday afternoon, I heard a noise and normally we don't hear any type of noise or air coming into the car. I decided to open the sunroof to see if there was something wrong with it like if it was stuck open or if something was stuck in it, and the whole sunroof almost flew off the car. I had to pull over as fast as I could into the break down lane and it took me a while to close it and it still seems to be open, I didn't see anything stuck in the guide rails or in the area when closing it. I was very scared for the safety of my children and myself and for the other drivers on the highway. I have made an appointment so the shop and check the car out and run some diagnostics. There are no warning lights or messages prior to the sunroof almost flying off the car.

MY CLASS C 250 2014 VEHICLE. DIVING LONG DISTANCES ON THE INTERSTATE STARTED HEARING LOUD STATIC OVER THE SPEAKER SYSTEM. THE RADIO WAS NOT ON. THE NOISE TURNED INTO A LOUD SCREECHING/ STATIC NOISE FROM SPEAKERS WITH AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL FILLING THE CAR'S CABIN. I PULLED OFF-HIGHWAY, TURNED THE CAR OFF, THE NOISE/ BURNING SMELL DID NOT STOP. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR. AFTER THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF FOR 1 HOUR, THE NOISE /BURNING SMELL STOPPED. My sister was driving across town and came across some uneven payment near a construction zone. She hit a small-medium sized pothole and it somehow triggered both the front and rear passenger airbags to deploy. There was no damage significant impact when it happened and no damage to the exterior of the car (tire, wheel, fender). It happened today (Saturday) so it was taken to a local independent repair facility. Will know more Monday. Parts available for inspection upon request, of course.

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 70-75 MPH ENGINE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING AND SPEED REDUCED TO 30 MPH WITH NO RESPONSE FROM GAS PEDAL. A SEMI RAN UP BEHIND ME AND SWERVED TO THE FIRE LANE. I purchased my vehicle early March from Carmax. They offer a 90 day guarantee on anything that will go wrong with the vehicle full coverage. My daughter was having my grandchild so what a great opportunity but to drive my new vehicle from Chicago to Florida to give it a good run when I arrived I was having problems with the Eco drive, which is the start stop enabler. The car would die out. Also, there were a few alarms as far as the temperature of the vehicle and the service mechanism being that I had left at the dealership at 9:30 PM at night and hit the road immediately I had to notice until the morning, but there was some cracking on the exterior of the driver side tire. Upon arriving to Florida. I brought the car directly to Mercedes at the Daytona auto Mall soon as I walked in they service representative stated we don’t deal with Carmax and I said well they said the car is covered under warranty to go ahead and bring it into you guys and they will take care of the bill. They made a big fuss about it saying that it needed to go to Carmax then Carmax needed to bring them the vehicle even though I had all of my stuff located in the vehicle for traveling then they proceeded to tell me that they would not give me a loaner car during the time of my service. The Carmax representative that I spoke with in service his name was Al when I had addressed all of my concerns he had mentioned due to the tire issue. They would be replacing all four tires and that they would address the issues with the Start stop control the computer reacting and then disappearing, and also a safety recall that I had noticed about the airbags because the passenger side airbag kept displaying a blinking needless to say, after being totally inconvenienced, they have my vehicle for over a week. The second I went to pick up the car. I had to pick it up in the afternoon due to having to work in the evening they had it ready in the express. I ATTEMPTED TO GET THE CAR RESTARTED BUT ALL I GOT WERE FLASHING DASHBOARD LIGHTS. I ATTEMPTED TO PUT UP A WARNING TRIANGLE TO THE REAR OF THE CAR, BUT THE TRAFFIC WAS MOVING TOO QUICKLY FOR ME TO SAFELY DO THAT. I SAT IN MY CAR AND BUCKLED MY SEAT BELT. I CALLED 911 TO ANNOUNCE MY EMERGENCY AND I CONTACTED MY CAR'S INSURER FOR A TOW TRUCK (THEY PROVIDE SUCH A SERVICE). WITHIN MOMENTS, A TOYOTA WITH TLC PLATES SMASHED INTO MY CAR SENDING ME INTO THE BARRIER. THE REAR OF THE CAR WAS BROKEN AND DEFORMED. LAST WEEK ON MARCH 31ST I WENT TO TURN MY VEHICLE ON SINCE I WANTED TO MOVE IT FROM MY PARKING SPOT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO MY GARAGE IN ORDER FOR ME TO GO TO THE GROCERY STORE SHORTLY WITH MY 2 MONTH OLD BABY. AS SOON AS I PUT THE KEY IN THE INGNITION SLOT AND TURN THE KEY I HEARD LIKE A ZAPPING NOISE INSTANTLY AND NOTICED IN A MATTER OF SECONDS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE STEERING WHEEL AREA. SORT OF NEAR THE FLOOR OS THE DRIVERS SIDE. I IMMEDIATELY HOP OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WHERE THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM AND JUST AS QUICKLY FLAMES STARTED COMING FROM THE SAME AREA AS THE SMOKE. I CALLED 911 AND IN LESS THAN 3 MINUTES THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS IN FLAMES, BURNING DOWN. THE FLAMES THEN BLEW ALL THE WINDOWS AND MOON ROOF TRYING TO ESCAPE THE VEHICLE AND BY THE TIME THE FIRE RESCUE CAME MOST OF THE VEHICLE WAS GONE. I THANK GOD I DIDNT GET TO MOVE THIS VEHICLE AS I HAD ORIGINIALLY PLANNED BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE AND MY FAMILIES. I OWNED THIS VEHICLE ONLY ABOUT 3 YEARS AND IT NEVER EVER GAVE ME PROBLEMS. ALL OF ITS MAINTANANCE WAS UP TO DATE AND NEVER HAD ANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES OR MAJOR REPAIRS DUE TO ANYTHING. I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THIS WAS A FUSE OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BURST INTO FLAMES DUE TO THE ZAPPING NOISE I HEARD AS THE VEHICLE WAS BEING TURNED ON. I HAD BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE PERFECTLY FINE WHICH IS WHY THIS CAME AS A HUGE SURPRISE. I WANT TO MAKE SURE OTHERS ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE SINCE ITS A HUGE RISK. MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE HAS NEVER HAD ANY RECALLS AND IM ALWAYS CHECKING AND UP TO DATE WITH EVERYTHING. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE MERCEDES BENZ MANUFACTURING COMPANY TO LET THEM KNOW OF THIS AS WELL.

THE BREAKING SYSTEM HAS GONE OUT ON THIS CAR WHILE DRIVING THREE DIFFERENT TIMES. IT'S EXTREMELY SCARY AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT EACH TIME AS THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE SYSTEM FAILS. ONE MINUTE THE CAR IS FINE AND THE NEXT YOU CANNOT STOP. NO WAY TO KNOW IT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN UNTIL YOU PRESS THE BREAK PEDAL. THE FIRST TIME WE HAD IT FIXED FROM THE MECHANIC HE SEEMED TO BELIEVE IT WAS A FLUKE THE BREAK BOOSTER PART WENT BAD SO WE FIXED IT. SECOND TIME WE RETURNED TO THE SAME MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FAILED AND REPLACED ALL THE PARTS INCLUDING THE BOOSTER. EXCEPT THIS TIME HE WAS ABLE TO EXCHANGE THE BOOSTER UNDER A PART WARRANTY. NOW IN THE LAST FEW DAYS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FAILED AGAIN WITH NO EXPLANATION. ALL THREE INSTANCES HAVE HAPPENED IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW IN THIS CAR AND IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. WE GOT LUCKY NOT HAVING AN ACCIDENT AS WELL AS SOME OF THE SECOND AND THIRD REPAIRS BEING UNDER A PARTS WARRANTY. THERE CURRENTLY IS NOT A RECALL WE CAN FIND FOR OUR MODEL BUT IF YOU LOOK UP OTHER MERCEDES MODELS THEY HAVE A BREAK SYSTEM FAILURE RECALL. THIS NEEDS ATTENTION!

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND THE STEERING BECAME STIFF. THE PRE SAFE LIGHT CAME ON THE SCREEN ALONG WITH "PARKING BRAKE" "TRACTION CONTROL" ALTHOUGH THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT APPLIED. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED HOME BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

HENNESSY BUICK, MAZDA, GMC SOLD ME A CAR 8/18/2017 UNKNOWINGLY I DISCOVERED ON 2/5/2019 THAT IT HAD AN ILLEGAL CAN BLOCKER/SWITCH (MANIPULATES COMPUTER SYSTEMS IN CAR AND TAMPERS TRUE MILEAGE ON CAR) INSTALLED IN IGNITION SWITCH. AFTER OBTAINING EMISSIONS TEST 12/26/2018, SEVERAL CAR FAILURES BEGAN TO HAPPEN WHILE STATIONARY AT TESTING CENTER. WHILE IN MOTION THAT DAY, SEVERAL LIGHTS BEGAN TO STOP WORKING. IN JANUARY 2019, WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING FAILED CAUSING ME TO BE UNSAFE AS I COULD NOT BRAKE, GAS OR TURN WHEEL. WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL STREET SPEED "COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST INOPERATIVE" DISPLAYED AND CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS IN TRAFFIC, BUT WAS ABLE TO EXIT AND PULL OVER AND PARK, TURNED CAR OFF, & BACK ON. DISPLAY RESET AND CAR NORMAL. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY-REPAIR WAS "NON CONNECTING PINS". TOO EARLY TO TELL IF THIS SOLVES. UPON INVESTIGATION, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH 2014 MB AND I WANT TO DOCUMENT THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PERFORMANCE.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON LOCAL STREETS, SUDDENLY I HEARD A CRACKING NOISE FROM THE SUNROOF. AFTER THAT I PULLED MY CAR ASIDE AND NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A SMALL CRACK ON THE SUNROOF. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) THERE WAS NO FALLING FOREIGN OBJECTS, NO IMPACT FROM THE WEATHER. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE DAY CRACK. MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND FIND A PARKING LOT TO STORE THE CAR. AFTER I CONTACTED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND I WAS ON MY WAY TO THE PARKING LOT, THE SUNROOF SHATTERED COMPLETELY. SOME OF THE GLASS PIECE EVEN FELL AND CAUSED INJURY TO MY WIFE. THIS WAS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO IMPACT FROM THE OUTSIDE AT THAT TIME AND YOU CAN ALSO CLEARLY TELL FROM THE PICTURE OF THE CRACK. IT IS NOT CAUSED BY ANY FALLEN FOREIGN OBJECT. I WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE AT THE RISK OF MY FAMILY'S INJURY SO I CALLED THE MB ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE THE CAR TOLLED. THE SHATTERED SUNROOF NOT ONLY CAUSE DIVERSION OF THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION AND ALSO CAUSE BODY INJURY FROM THE FALLEN GLASS PIECES. MERCEDES IS NOT RESPONDING TO THE COMPLAIN. DEALER IS TAKING THE RESPONSIBILITY ON THIS ISSUE AND CHARGE ME $2,400 TO REPAIR THE SUNROOF. I WAS GETTING OFF WORK AND I WAS ABOUT TO GET OUT OF THE GARAGE AND I DROVE FOR ABOUT 100 YARDS AND I GET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, POWER TERAIN LIGHT ON SAYING DISABLED AND ON THE DASHBOARD IT SAID INOPERATIVE SEE OPERATORS MANUAL AND ALSO PRE_SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED. IT WAS GOING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THESE TWO. WHEN I WAS DRIVING GOING ABOUT 5MPH, THE CAR WOULD SPEED UP BY ITSELF WITHOUT ME TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL, THEN IT WOULD SLOW DOWN AND SPEED UP AGAIN. IT WAS LIKE I WAS LEARNING TO DRIVING STICK SHIFT, STOP AND GO, EXCEPT THE CAR WAS DOING IT BY ITSELF. THEN I PARKED THE CAR, AND THE ARROW IN TACHOMETER WAS GOING UP AND DOWN. IT WOULD GO TO 1.5 AND THEN DROP TO .5 EVERY SECOND OR SO. THEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND FLOORED IT WHILE I HAD IT ON PARK AND IT DID NOTHING. I SHUT IT OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN TO SEE MAYBE IT WOULD GET FIXED BUT IT DIDN'T. I LEFT THE CAR THERE OVERNIGHT AND THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME I STARTED IT, AND ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GONE. I DROVE IT FOR ABOUT 500 YARD TO GET IT OUT OF THE GARAGE TO MAKE IT EASIER TO TOW. I HAVE HEARD MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH 2014 CLA 250

I AM WRITING TO RAISE SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT THE RUN-FLAT TIRES INSTALLED ON MY 2014 CLA 250. AFTER 12,830 MILES, I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST FLAT TIRE. AFTER CONSULTING THE OWNER'S MANUAL, I LEARNED THAT I HAD RUN-FLAT (MOEXTENDED) TIRES AND COULD PROCEED (HAVING THE ABILITY TO DRIVE 50 MILES ON THE FLAT, ACCORDING TO MY MANUAL). I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT THIS TIRE, COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AND THAT MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE. ON 8/29/16, I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 101 IN A VERY RURAL PART OF HUMBOLDT COUNTY IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, AND EXPERIENCED ANOTHER FLAT TIRE (AGAIN WITH ONE OF THE FACTORY INSTALLED TIRES). FROM A DESERTED GAS STATION IN A PLACE CALLED WEOTT, I TRIED TO CALL MERCEDES-BENZ ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE BUT AFTER BEING PUT ON HOLD AND TRYING TO NAVIGATE THE MENU, I GAVE UP. I KNEW THAT THERE WERE ONLY SMALL TOWNS FOR APPROXIMATELY 75 MILES SOUTH OF ME, SO I CHOSE TO RETURN TO FORTUNA (WHERE MY SISTER LIVED), APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES TO THE NORTH). THE MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF THIS FLAT WAS 22, 684. JUST A FEW MILES AWAY FROM MY DESTINATION, I PULLED OVER BECAUSE THE VIBRATION IN THE CAR HAD TURNED TO SHAKING AND I WAS FINDING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE. I BECAME FRIGHTENED THAT I MIGHT LOSE CONTROL. I MUST REITERATE THAT AT THIS POINT I WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENED FOR MY SAFETY AND PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY 101 AND CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. I HAD DRIVEN CAUTIOUSLY FOR ONLY 25 MILES ON THE FLAT TIRE, NOTHING NEAR THE 50 MILES PROMISED IN MY AUTO MANUAL. MULTIPLE EPISODES OF "PRE-SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED" OCCURRING. WHEN THIS MESSAGE APPEARS THE CAR SUDDENLY LOSES ACCELERATION AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO GO ABOVE 30 MPH DESPITE PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON NORMAL 35-45 MPH STREETS BUT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR IS GOING 65 MPH. LUCKILY, NO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THE CAR IS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND FUNCTION NORMALLY AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND ON AGAIN. HAVE GONE TO MERCEDES DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES TO FIX ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED, MERCEDES UPDATED SYSTEM SOFTWARE. NEXT THEY REPLACED VEHICLE SENSORS. MOST RECENTLY THEY CLAIMED THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO OIL PUMP FAILURE. THEY REPLACED AN OIL CONTROL VALVE AND OIL PAN. FOUR DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR I RECEIVED THE SAME "PRE-SAFE FUNCTIONS LIMITED MESSAGE, MY CAR STALLED WHILE I WAS GOING 40 MPH. I HAVE RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER ONCE AGAIN TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS. THIS HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES IN THE TWO AND A HALF YEARS THAT I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE. IT IS CURRENTLY AT 49,200 MILES AND HAS BEEN PROPERLY SERVICED. EACH TIME I BRING THE CAR IN FOR THIS ERROR MESSAGE MERCEDES REPLACES A NEW PART BUT IT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

BOUGHT THE CLA 250 BRAND NEW IN 2014, VEHICLE HAS NOW TWICE GONE IN TO PRE-SAFE MODE AND INOPERATIVE MODE WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR SWITCHES TO NEUTRAL AS I AM DRIVING AND THEN REFUSES TO SHIFT IN TO DRIVE OR REVERSE LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE STREETS ON TWO OCCASION WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED TWO VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. THE CAR ON THE SECOND TIME HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHO COULD'NT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THERE SOLUTION WAS MORE OF A GUESS ABOUT A CPU NEEDING TO BE REPLACED.

THE CAR SHOWED "PRE-SAFE UNAVAILABLE" AND SHOWED THAT THE STABILITY CONTROL OFF LIGHT ON THE DASH. IT WENT INTO "LIMP" MODE JUST BEFORE A DANGEROUS Y SHAPED INTERSECTION WHERE I WAS TURNING TO THE LEFT LEG OF THE Y AND THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE Y. PURCHASE MY 2014 CLA 250 IN JANUARY 2014 FOR MY DAUGHTER. IN MAY MY DAUGHTER CALL AND SAID THE CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING IT. DIDN'T REALLY THINK ANYTHING OF IT BECAUSE SHE WAS A NEW DRIVER. ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER SHE SAID IT DID THE SAME THING. AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2014 I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. DRIVING ABOUT 40MPH AND THE CAR JUST STOP MOVING. A MESSAGE OF INOPERATIVE CAME THE SCREEN. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE STEERING WAS VERY HARD TO TURN AND NOTHING WOULD WORK EXCEPT FOR THE BRAKES. IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT AGAIN THE CAR WILL START WORKING AGAIN. PUT THE CAR INTO THE SHOP. THEY SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER UPDATE. MERCEDES DEALER UPDATED THE SYSTEM. AS THEY WERE DRIVING THE CAR BACK TO ME THE SAME THING HAPPENED. SO THEY TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER KEPT IF A WEEK AND SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THREE MONTHS LATER EXACTLY 1 YEAR HAVING THE CAR. VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION & THROTTLE RESPONSE IS JERKY & UNPREDICTABLE. ROTORS WENT BAD AT 5,000 MILES, BEGINNING TO GO BAD AGAIN AT 12,000. AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 65 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE CAME UP AND SAID " INOPERATIVE, PRE SAFE INACTIVE" I FREAKED OUT. I WAS AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS AND IT WAS INOPERATIVE. I NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS AFFECTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNRESPONSIVE WHEN I ACCELERATED. THE ABS SYSTEM WAS DISABLED, I WAS SCARED EVEN TO BRAKE BECAUSE I KNOW THAT WHEN THE ABS SYSTEM IS DISABLED THE BRAKES CAN LOCK UP AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, INJURIES AND EVEN DEATH. I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY THE CAR SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY. I COULD NOT GET IT TO START, NOR PUT IT ON NEUTRAL GEAR, TO AT LEAST PUSH IT AWAY. A MESSAGE IN RED POPS UP ON THE SCREEN THAT SAYS "SERVICE REQUIRED, DO NOT SHIFT GEARS, VISIT DEALER". I COULD NOT PUSH THE CAR AT ALL, BECAUSE THE GEAR SHIFTED AUTOMATICALLY TO PARKING AND IT WON'T MOVE TO NEUTRAL. I WAS STUCK ON THE MAIN ROAD FOR 15 MINUTES. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO GET HIT OR RUN OVER BY THE INCOMING TRAFFIC. I CAUSED A PANIC ON THE STREET BECAUSE I WAS BLOCKING IT. FORTUNATELY, A POLICE CAR SHOWED UP, AND THE OFFICER HELPED ME BY DIVERTING THE TRAFFIC AWAY FROM ME. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WHEN I NEARLY CAUSED A COLLISION BECAUSE I ENCROACHED ON ANOTHER CAR'S SPACE IN THE NEXT LANE TO MY LEFT. I BELIEVE THIS WAS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CLA250 DRIVER SIDE MIRROR DOES NOT ADEQUATELY COVER THE BLIND SPOT AND DOES NOT PROVIDE SAFE AND EFFECTIVE VIEW OF THE LEFT LANE. THE MIRROR IS ADJUSTED ALL THE WAY OUT BUT CAN ONLY SEE THE QUARTER PANEL OF THE CLA250. DURING MY NEAR-COLLISION, I DID PHYSICALLY TURN MY HEAD AND SHOULDERS TO VIEW THE TRAFFIC ON THE LEFT LANE (THREE LANE HIGHWAY). IT WAS CLEAR. AS I WAS ABOUT TO SWITCH INTO THE LANE 2 SECONDS LATER, ANOTHER CARE WAS ALREADY IN THE SPACE THAT THE CLA250 SIDE MIRROR DID NOT GIVE ME A SECOND OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW. CAR COMPLETELY SHUTOFF TONIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY AND LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET PULLED OVER WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAD NUMEROUS MESSAGES ON THE DISPLAY, INCLUDING "SERVICE REQUIRED, DO NOT SHIFT GEARS, VISIT DEALER" AND "ESP INOPERABLE, SEE OPERATOR'S MANUAL". I HAVE PARTIAL VIDEO IF THIS INCIDENT. INCIDENT OCCURRED AT 991 ODOMETER MILES. AFTER DRIVING APPROX. ~300 MOSTLY CONTIGUOUS, FLAT, RURAL HIGHWAY MILES IN-BETWEEN LINCOLN, NE AND ST. LOUIS, MO (HEADING TO ATLANTA, GA) IN APPROX. 30 WEATHER ON DRY PAVEMENT, THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING ENOUGH ENGINE POWER TO PROPEL THE VEHICLE AT THE 70-75 MPH THAT I WAS TRAVELING. AT APPROX. 60-65 MPH, I APPLIED ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL WHICH WAS NOT EFFECTIVE. PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR DID NOTHING EXCEPT, OCCASIONALLY, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SWITCH QUICKLY IN-BETWEEN THE SAME TWO GEARS, WHICH REGISTERED SLIGHTLY ON THE TACHOMETER BUT DID NOTHING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE OR MAINTAIN SPEED. IT ALMOST FELT AS IF THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS ACTIVATING (BUT MALFUNCTIONING) DESPITE THE GROUND BEING TOTALLY DRY. BY APPROX. 50 MPH I WAS BEING FLANKED AND TAILGATED BY TWO CLEARLY DISGRUNTLED SEMI-TRUCKS AS I TRIED TO PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE SEEMINGLY WOULD MAINTAIN A MAX. OF 35 MPH. UPON RESTARTING THE CAR (NORMAL START), LETTING IT IDLE (NORMAL IDLE), AND THEN ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE TO A SAFER LOCATION, ITS ACCELERATION FELT RESTRICTED AT LOWER RPMS, BUT IT DID BACK UP TO HIGHWAY SPEED AND THE RESTRICTED FEELING ENDED UP BEING TEMPORARY. THE NEAREST DEALER WAS MB OF MARION, IL., APPROX. ANOTHER 200-300 MILES AWAY. ON THE WAY TO THIS DEALERSHIP, THE SAME MALFUNCTION OCCURRED AGAIN ABOUT 50-75 MILES LATER. I WENT THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. AT THE MARION, IL DEALER, THE MECHANIC FOUND THE FOLLOWING CODE IN THE COMPUTER: PO29921 - BOOST PRESSURE OF TURBOCHARGER TOO LOW. THE MECHANIC AT THE MARION, IL DEALER AND, LATER, AT ANOTHER DEALER CLOSER TO WHERE I LIVE (MERCEDES OF SOUTH ATLANTA) WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THIS CODE AND THEREFORE NO REPAIRS HAVE EVER BEEN ATTEMPTED OR MADE. I PURCHASED A NEW NEW NEW MERCEDES CLA-250C AUTOMOBILE LATE SEPTEMBER 2013. IN MID-OCTOBER I EXPERIENCED UN-COMMANDED ACCELERATION TO ABOVE 5500 RPM. THIS CEASED JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO APPLY BRAKING. THE CAR THEN BEHAVED NORMALLY. *TR ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT I EXPERIENCED UN-COMMANDED BRAKING WHENEVER I BACKED OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE FORCE OF BRAKING BEING PROPORTIONAL TO THE DEGREE OF LIFT-OFF FROM THE ACCELERATOR. 1ST- ON FEB 11TH & 12TH MY 2014 CLA WHICH WAS PURCHASED AT THE MB OF PEMBROKE PINES HAD BEEN TOWED TO THE MB OF POMPANO, FL DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE EPS LIGHTS, "INOPERATIVE" WARNING MESSAGES THAT WERE COMING UP AS WELL AS THE STALLING AND DELAYED ACCELERATION, WHICH I TOOK PHOTOS OF. IT WAS TOWED TO POMPANO FORM MY JOB, MY CAR WAS KEPT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 4 DAYS (AS OPPOSED TO THE FEW HRS I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD TAKE TO FIX THE COMPUTER ISSUES). NOT ONLY WAS MY CAR IN THE SHOP FOR 3 DAYS, BUT A PART THAT HAD BEEN ORDERED,WHICH MEANS SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY WASN?T FUNCTIONING PROPERLY SO IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. 2ND - I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE ON SAT FEB 15TH FROM THE POMPANO, AFTER GETTING ONTO THE I95 AND DRIVING 2 MINS, THE SAME WARNING SIGNS CAME BACK UP. I EXITED DRIVING 15MPH AND TRYING TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STABLE. MR. MIKE RODRIGUEZ WAS INSTRUCTED TO TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, WHEN HE DID SO THE WARNING SIGNALS WERE GONE. WHY? BECAUSE A SERVICE GUY RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT INTO THE SERVICE AREA. BEING THAT THE SIGNAL WAS NO LONGER VISIBLE, THE GM SUGGESTED THAT IF THERE WAS EVER A SIGNAL SENT TO THE VEHICLE IT WOULD SHOW UP IN SOME SORT OF READING THEY WERE ABLE TO DO ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN THEY RETURNED, BOTH THE GM AND MR. RODRIGUEZ INFORMED US THAT THE VEHICLE SHOWED THEM THERE WAS NO SIGNAL THAT WAS SENT TO THE VEHICLE ALL DAY. I LITTERALLY JUST SAW IT NOT 30 MINS AGO. WE LEFT & ABOUT 2 MINS FROM MY HOME IN BOCA RATON, THE SIGNAL WAS BACK WITH VENGEANCE! AT THIS POINT I TOOK PICTURES. I PULLED INTO MY DRIVE WAY, BUT THIS TIME I LEFT THE VEHICLE RUNNING. 3RD -ON MARCH 2ND AT AROUND 2:45PM, AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF HAVING MY VEHICLE BACK, I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE SAME WARNING SIGNS AND ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WERE BACK. ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, AND TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2013, MY VEHICLE LISTED ABOVE HAD WARNING LIGHTS COME ON THAT STATED, "PRE SAFE, FUNCTIONS LIMITED, INOPERATIVE." IN ADDITION TO THE WORDS, THE ESP AND ABS LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PENSKE MBZ IN WEST COVINA, CA, ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30. THEY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BY DOING A SOFTWARE UPDATE. ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2013, THE CODES RETURNED AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT, ENCINO, CA, MBZ. I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE CODES AND THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT ENCINO MBZ AS THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WHEN THIS MALFUNCTION OCCURS, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND HAS VERY LIMITED ACCELERATION. IT HAS OCCURRED TWICE ON CITY STREETS AND TWICE ON THE FREEWAY, BOTH IN ECO AND SPORT MODE. ON THE CITY STREETS I AM ABLE TO JUST PULL TO THE CURB. ON THE FREEWAY, IT BECOMES A POSSIBLE LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY. THERE IS ONLY VERY GRADUAL ACCELERATION, AND AT 65MPH, LIMITED ACCELERATION IS VERY DANGEROUS.
