Check Engine Light - Code P052E71 - Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve Performance. The component failure can lead to increased exhaust gas emission, oil leaks, and internal engine damage resulting in unsafe operation. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by an independent certified service center. This specific vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, but this specific problem has been identified in other similar Mercedes-Benz years, make, and models. MBUSA LLC is only willing to apply the EMISSION EXTENDED WARRANTY to certain models within a certain model year, even though the design and engine components are nearly identical if not the same. My vehicle is the same model year and class, but a different model type and not included in the EMISSION EXTENDED WARRANTY. Repair cost can be in excess of $2,000 if not covered under the added warranty.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA250. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the vehicle starting very rather slowly. The vehicle was diagnosed however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the vehicle operated normally; however, the following day while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started to lose automotive power. The contact pulled over to the side of the highway until the vehicle came to a complete stop. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was inspected by two independent mechanics however, the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 124,000.

There was a recent extended warranty issued by Mercedes-Benz to repair certain vehicle models free of charge that have a check engine light code P052E. Unfortunately my vehicle (2015 CLA 250) was not included in that recall, but the CLA250 models have the same issue and run the same risk of safety being compromised. Now myself, and many others, have to pay a hefty out of pocket price for a malfunction that is strictly the fault of the manufacturer. Please look into this and strongly consider having Mercedes-Benz include the CLA 250 models in this warranty.

UNKNOWN- The check engine light came on and was taken for a diagnostic test and it returned a P052E code. This indicates a fault in the Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve performance. This is a known issue with Mercedes Benz as there has been a recall for all the models except the CLA.

I was driving to work on Thursday, September 11th. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise like an explosion. Upon checking, I saw that my sunroof had exploded, shattering glass everywhere. The loud noise startled me, causing me to almost have an accident. I managed to pull over, check my vehicle, and drive it back home. I've contacted my insurance company and documented the damage with photos.

The panoramic sunroof on my 2015 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 4Matic spontaneously exploded while I was driving. It was a clear sunny day with no weather and there were no vehicles in front of me that could have kicked up a rock. It sounded like a gunshot, and I scared enough that I veered into another lane. Thankfully I did not hit another vehicle. I had very small superficial cuts on my arm and back. The dealership does not acknowledge any manufacturing defect on the sunroof. After some research I have found there is an open class action lawsuit against Mercedes Benz for this exact issue. The was no warning prior to the issue. There was nothing to inspect as it was just a pile of broken class laying in my car.

Panoramic Roof exploded without any outside influences causing this...many on your radar...dangerous...not sure why the NHTSA has not ordered a recall...there have been thousands of these same issues across many manufacturers. Almost caused a crash due to the startle effect of the explosion. MBZ does not make a replacement part for this. Why is that? There's a reason behind this. It's the gov'ts responsibility to keep us safe...Insurance paid for the replacement...MBZ does not make it...there are no aftermarket replacements for this. Dealership has had the car on it's lot for 5 weeks...it's been out of order for 8 weeks.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM MERCEDES-BENZ IN FEBRUARY 2019 FOR THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG (SEE ATTACHED COPY). IT STATES THAT "A PASSENGER-SIDE INFLATOR EXPLOSION DURING DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE FRONT PASSENGER OR OTHER OCCUPANTS, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." OVER THE LAST 20 MONTHS, I HAVE TRIED AT LEAST SIX TIMES TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED BY MY DEALER MERCEDES-BENZ OF GREENWICH, 261 WEST PUTNAM AVE, GREENWICH, CT 06830. EACH TIME THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THIS PART.

In November 2024, while at a stop, the car shut off. A few weeks later, while driving the car over speed tables/humps, the car shifted from drive into neutral. No warning or error lights appeared on the dashboard. It just showed that the car was now in neutral. I was able to shift back into drive and continue. Fortunately, I was in a residential neighborhood, going about 10 miles per hour and had only one car behind me. This happened again in December, with the same scenario and on the same road, so I took the car to the dealer. They did a diagnostic and was not able to duplicate the problem, but said there were some error codes and it could possibly be the starter, auxiliary battery or transmisson service, since I had not done one. They also stated there was a Coolant Thermostat electrical fault code. They scheduled me to come back in January 2025 since I needed a loaner car. They kept my car for a couple of days to do a more detailed diagnostic. In the end they replaced the auxiliary battery and did a transmission service because they could not replicate the problem. Said that there was nothing in the transmission fluid of concern and, the starter code had not returned. Stated that it could have been an electrical fluke. No other codes were showing. They did say that some time in the future I would need a coolant thermostat. Car ran well for a few weeks and then in February 2025, going over the same road with speed humps, the car went into neutral. The car has been in the shop for the last 7 days and they are trying to figure out what is happening. I am submitting this because I found many other people posting on forums about having the same issue. My concern is what will happen if my car moves into neutral while I am going at a high speed. It puts me, my family and others lives in danger if my car stops suddenly.

there is a known issue with the mercedes benz GLA 250 rear differential. it is defective and need to be replaced many times during the life of the vehicle. i have not had an accident that i can relate to this defect but i feel it need to be reported and investigated by your office. the cost of the repair is over $6000. you can read more about this issue in this forum [XXX] i started reporting the issue before the warranty expired, the dealer was never able to find the problem, after the warranty expires they "discovered" what the issue is, the rear differential need to be replaced. of course they deny any wrongdoing but this is a well documented manufacturing defect that should be addressed. Rear differential has failed/malfunctioned. The vehicle is available upon request. It is a road safety issue as it will stall/ hesitate when accelerating and has a jerking effect. It has been confirmed by an independent service center. It had not been inspected by anyone, other than an independent service center mechanic. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

The head unit for the sound system begins a reset loop when navigating radio station and/or connecting bluetooth device. Seems to be a glitch in the head unit software. This is preventing use of navigation/GPS screen, backup camera, and Bluetooth connection.

Mercedes repair shop inspected this car and stated that there is rear-subframe rusting and corrosion. Repair shop states that this is a safety issue. I took it into Mercedes dealer who stated that this VIN is not covered by a 20-year, unlimited-mile rear-subframe warranty (Feb–Mar 2023) for specific models (C/E/GLK/CLS/SLK/SLC/SL). Mercedes extended the warranty on the models where they saw the most repeat failures, in a way that addresses the worst cases (holes) while controlling scope and liability—not an admission of a universal defect across all lines (e.g., GLA), which is why my VIN isn’t in the program.

The contact arrived at his destination and became aware that the roof panel had detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was confirmed that the adhesive used to hold the glass panel was insufficient. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a loaner vehicle and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

On May 10th while driving on I-35 Texas highway, the panoramic sunroof of our 2015 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 shattered the whole panoramic sunroof, my daughter describes as some shot at the car. there was particles of glass on the driver side and passenger, very dangerous situation. She pulled over into a gas station and noticed there were pieces of glass shattered all over the interior some. The second incident happed about 2 weeks ago on the recalled part, while driving the panoramic sunroof stationary roof panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof part came off while driving and hit the behind, luckily no one was harmed during the incident. I took the recalled letter to the local Mercedes in San Antonio refusing to fix the recalled part and apparently the part is not available and there is no date as to when is going to be available, in the meanwhile we can't drive the car. Also it took almost 4 months to replace the panoramic roof, I will file another complaint about the panoramic roof, apparently this is a common thing with this model CLA250.

Same part had been recalled from all other models but not my model. It's the same part being used across Mercedes and they won't sale the valve and force customers like me there are thousands other to spent $2700 plus to replace whole system. Should have been recalled since it's same valve that may be using across all vehicles. Failed the emission test which is a big problem they should have addressed.

They had recall of this part which is valve in all other models except for this one. My vehicle failed VEIP test due to faulty valve and required assistance from the dealer but they refused to provide solutions and asked to pay $2700 and $230 diagnosis fee when we already had code which showed which part and which is recalled in all other Mercedes vehicles with 150000 milage warranty. We cannot just replace valve they are forcing to replace whole assembly causing problems for many owners like me. My vehicle has only 36k milage. If same valve is faulty which creates environmental hazard that should be recalled in all models from same manufacturer Instead of forcing ripping customers with high cost and environmental risk.

On September 7th, 2023 while I was on the fastest lane driving to work in the morning on I 10 fwy, the car shut down without any prior warning. Couldn't even put it in neutral. Called 911 and a cop called the towing service to take the car out of the fwy. Mercedes Benz Ontario dealer diagnostics says it's due to a fuel pump failure. I see a same issue recall, but not for my model. Mercedes should check if my model sold also has a similar fuel pump failure issue. It's very dangerous to stop without any warning.

The factory fuel rubber inlet hose going to the high pressure fuel pump leaks in cold weather conditions. Multiple dealerships and online forums are aware of this fuel leak but a recall has not been issued to have the hose and clamp replaced.

A driver in my household was driving at normal speeds and smelled smoke in the cabin. She pulled over immediately to the nearest gas station. In that short time, there were FLAMES coming from the center console area. She ran inside to get employees with fire extinguisher. The fire was put out and police/fire department were called. The car was un-drivable, and my insurance declared it as a total loss (it would cost more to repair than the current blue book value). I had a similar problem previously with a Mercedes 2014 CLA250. That was a smaller fire, but melted the console area. I will be submitting a report for that one as well, even though it happened several years ago. After that incident we went back and forth with MB corporate and ultimately took it to dealer and ended up trading in for this one. Both fires were electrical fires from wires underneath the center console.

THE COMMAND UNIT REBOOTS EVERY 2 MINUTES WITH THE CAR ON OR OFF. IT KILLS THE BATTERY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE BATTERY DISCHARGES. WE HAVE SEEN DOZENS OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ONLINE. MERCEDES CHARGED 157.00 AND WANTS ANOTHER 500--600 FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE CAR HAS 52,000 MILES AND JUST WENT OUT OF WARRANTY.

WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, ENGINE OFF, ALL DOORS CLOSED, AND AFTER LOCKING THE DOOR USING THE SMART KEY LOCKING BUTTON OR THE KEYLESS LOCKING FUNCTION (TOUCHING THE DOOR HANDLE), ALL FOUR DOORS APPEAR TO BE LOCK (CAN VISIBLY SEE LOCK MOVE DOWN TO LOCK POSITION). WE PURCHASED THIS CAR AS CERTIFY PRE-OWNED; IT HAS ENCOUNTER NUMEROUS ISSUES. ONE ISSUE I DID NOT MENTION ON THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT IS THE ISSUE WITH "KEY LESS" REMOTE. THE CAR SOME TIME DOES NOT DETECT KEY LESS REMOTE DURING DRIVING SAYING "KEY NOT DETECTED" EVEN AFTER REPLACING BATTERY AND VISITED DEALER (HOUSE OF IMPORT) FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL OCCASION CAR FAIL TO RESTART WAITING ON THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE CAR IT KEPT SAYING KEY NOT DETECTED (THIS CAK HAS AUTO START/STOP FEATURE) THAT MAKE IT VERY DANGEROUS POSSIBLE CAN BE REAR ENDED BY OTHER CAR.

I BOUGHT MERCEDES CLA 2015 ON JAN 2015 AND I DROVE THE VEHICLE WHERE MY AUDIO SYSTEM USED TO REBOOT TIME TO TIME ONCE IN A WHILE BUT IT USED TO COME UP. SO I DID NOT MENTION AND TAKE IT TO DEALER THAT TIME BUT RECENTLY, AFTER DRIVING 53K MILE, IT COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND ONLY REBOOTING ITSELF. LATER I FOUND OUT THERE WAS RECALL ABOUT 2015/2016 CLA AUDIO RECALL "REFERENCE TSB NO. 2015110001". SO I TOOK IT TO DEALER "MERCEDES BENZ HOUSTON GREENWAY" AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT UPDATE UNLESS THEY CHANGE CONTROL UNIT. I ALSO CALLED MERCEDES BENZ CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THEY ALSO SAME THING. SO I PAID 50% COST WHICH IS $1457. THIS LOOKS UNFAIR TO ME BECAUSE IT HAD ISSUE AND IT HAS RECALL TOO.I NEED PROPER HELP HERE AS THIS DOES NOT LOOK RIGHT TO ME AND I AM STARTING MY VOICE HERE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

The panoramic sunroof will not open on one side rendering the sunroof unusable. this problem is happening often on this Mercedes model. Looks like Mercedes used plastic guide to move the sunroof back and forward and if you take a bump while driving with the sunroof on the tilted position it will break the plastic tracks rendering the sunroof unusable. this is a time-consuming fix because the interior of the car needs to come out to completely remove the sunroof and replace the damage part with the same original part that will break again under the same circumstances.

On May 10th while driving on I-35 Texas highway, San Antonio Texas, the panoramic sunroof of our 2015 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 completely shattered while wife driving and daughter as a passenger, they heard a big bang and suddenly pieces of shattered glass fell all over the interior some of the glass hitting my wife and daughter in the face, they immediately pulled over to evaluate the situation. This could have caused an accident or significant injury. She had SAPD meet her at a gas station as she thought someone has shot at the glass, but officer confirmed that indeed the panoramic sunroof completely shattered. We tried to fix the panoramic roof and both Mercedes dealerships in San Antonio and Boerne Texas refused to repair the panoramic sunroof, we had to file a claim with our insurance and take the car to a collision center. The collision center stated that the sunroof was on back order from Mercedes Corp and had no timeline as to when the part would be available. Due to the car was not safe to drive and timeline on the parts, our insurance offered to total the car, but the car is almost new, low miles and in perfect mechanical condition so we declined. We received a call 4 months later that the car was fixed and the panoramic roof was installed.

SUNROOF IS FAULTY IN THIS MODEL. MERCEDES HAVE RECALLED EARLIER MODELS DUE TO SIMILAR ISSUE. THE HAVE RECALLED 750K CARS TODAY DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND WE ARE SEEING SIMILAR PROBLEMS IN OUR 2015 C CLASS. THIS ISSUE IS VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS AS THE SUNROOF COULD POTENTIALLY FLY OFF MYSELF AND MY WIFE WERE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN WE SUDDENLY HEARD THE NOISE. The car had only 71,000 miles on it when it it had a crank no start situation that immobilized it and had to be towed. After diagnostics at two repair shops, it was determined that the exhaust camshaft was the cause. This model year car has a recall (Mercedes campaign 2015100009 and NHTSA campaign 15V662000) for the camshaft but not for the car's VIN. This failure should not occur in a car with this mileage. Had it suddenly stalled while driving, it could have resulted in a potential accident.

IT APPEARS THAT WHEN THE TURBOCHARGER IS ENGAGED, COOLANT LEAVING THE TURBOCHARGER IS SPRAYING FROM WHERE A PRESUMABLY NOW MISSING CLAMP WOULD OTHERWISE FORM A TIGHT FIT AROUND THE TUBING, WHICH IS NORMALLY HOUSED BENEATH HEAT SHIELDING. THE HEAT SHIELDING HAS BEEN DISPLACED BY THE HIGH PRESSURE PRODUCED BY THE HOT LIQUID. THE LIQUID IS SO HOT LEAVING THE TURBOCHARGER THAT AS IT SPRAYS OUT ONTO THE SURROUNDING AREAS IT HAS MELTED THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM.

Check engine light on my 2015 MB GLA250 4matic came on and the error is "P052E PCV Regulator Valve Performance". There is a recall for other MB vehicle with the same engine. I believe the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 and other models with the same engine should be included in the recall.

All MB GLA and CLA 2015 cars have a common issue "CRANKCASE VENTILATION VALVE" which should be replaced a few times for the cars. Each service will cost at least $2000.00. Please ask MB to recall their cars and fix this issue.

When it first started to malfunction, my car would suddenly loose power out of nowhere and pretty much stop wherever. It's done it when I was crossing a busy intersection and it stalled right in the middle of the road causing other cars to have to stop or go around me. It has also stopped while I was driving on the freeway. I didn't even have enough power or momentum to pull off to a safe lane and almost caused an accident and several times while I was driving up a narrow two way road in the mountains. Later down the road my check engine light came on and I got the code p205e, Crankshaft ventilation breather hose is clogged, then my car lost power for good. It has been parked for almost a year now because I can't afford the repair and I am still paying car payments and insurance on it

The component that malfunctioned is the Crankcase valve. This valve malfunction has caused issues will the car is idle. The issue has been confirmed by the dealership. The issue has been inspected by the manufacturer as the manufacturer has released extended warranties on other models. The malfunction causes the check engine light to come on, however in the past it has gone off before a diagnostic test could be run; the check engine light would come on and go off then go on and go off, the exact amount of time is unknown.

I noticed for the last several weeks my car sometimes hesitates when I start the engine. I hadn't looked into it and wasn't sure what it could be because I changed my battery less than 2 years ago. I hoped it was a fluke or do to the increasing cold weather. Also the car occasionally shudders and hesitates when I increase and decrease speed and one or two the radio shut off on it's own. This morning, the automatic windshield wipers came on even though it was not raining and my windshield was not wet. This lasted for a few minutes before it stopped on it own. Then I drove about a mile and was at a stop light. When I eventually tried to accelerate, I wasn't able to and it was then that I noticed my car had slipped to neutral on it's own. I was on a busy road when this happened. The car also restarted on its own and I was able to shift to drive and continue driving. Thinking this was a fluke or perhaps a battery issue, I continued to drive for a few more minutes and again I found myself at a stop light and again, the car slipped into neutral. I quickly put my emergency lights on and restarted the car. The radio came but on, but I noticed the A/C did not come back on. I didn't bother turning it back on. I was able to drive 23 miles to my destination with no other incident. The majority of the 23 mile drive, after the car had stopped 2 times, was highway driving, so I did not need to stop much.

Normal driving, daily driver. The rubber around the inner and outer sidewalls seems soft and tears easily. I have a matching set of these tires on my car, same brand and type, 4 altogether. I have multiple large torn chucks & tears in the rubber around the sidewall of these tires. The middle section (non-sidewall) seems fine with normal wear. I have lifetime alignment and rotate and balance on these tires when purchased, and maintain this service. I have not seen this issue on other continentals in the past, and the wear is excessive on this brand.

I PURCHASED A NEW GLA250 IN AUGUST 2015. A FEW DAYS AFTER THE PURCHASE I NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAD A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW RESULTING IN A SAFETY ISSUE. DEPENDING ON THE POSITION OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT THE LEFT SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR CANNOT BE ADJUSTED TO ELIMINATE THE LARGE BLIND SPOT. TALLER DRIVERS WHO REQUIRE THAT THE SEAT BE POSITIONED FURTHER BACK CANNOT ADJUST THE LEFT SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO ELIMINATE THE BLIND SPOT. I HAVE CONTACTED MBUSA AND THEY WILL NOT ADMIT THAT THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW OR SAFETY ISSUE. THE MBUSA REPRESENTATIVE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF MIRROR OPERATION OR DESIGN. SHE TOLD ME THAT NOT ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE THE BLIND SPOT ON ALL CARS. So I went back the following day to see if I could get into another vehicle because this one was malfunctioning they didn’t want to do anything for me. I tried so many different options to get out of this car I had a few scares driving this car the week of ownership. About sis times my car cut off completely during traffic and I have some recorded videos. Theirs a leakage somewhere I can fill up my gas tank to full and drive maybe two blocks away from my house and the gas meter is say that I have half a tank. Now my car is overheating, it’s not cranking it just tells me on the dashboard that 4MATIC is unavailable.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA250. The contact stated that the sunroof failed to close completely as needed. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that a plastic part of the roof panel had detached. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the right and left roof guides, motor glass, and headliners. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V854000 (Structure); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Mercedes no longer supports the sos ( tel-aid) system, so this system no longer works...each time you start the car, the sos inoperative warning light is on, and it blocks other safety features ( speedometer etc..). You have to reset the light each time you get in the car. Without the support of the system there is no emergency alert theft tracking ,airbag deployment sent to MB etc etc. Mercedes no longer services this feature, and this is one of the reasons we bought this car. It's a tremendous safety concern. Even though there are dealer bulletins about this, there is no fix. All these cars should be purchased back by MB. I'm uncomfortable driving a car that could be involved in a collision, and the car not notifying MB, or the police

Had an update on the software to control collision prevention on the car, and soon afterward it began to deploy at certain spots without any other car in front for at least 50 feet. Took it back to the M-B Seattle dealer and after 4 weeks of investigation, I was told that the matter is exterior to the car and that the car performs as intended. T still drive the car and it still gives me warnings of impending to engage the collision detection braking system. I don't feel very comfortable driving it in the city.

Panoramic sunroof slider shoes failing, being cracked and stuck in the railing, causing a sunroof malfunction. The main concern of danger is that during closing the sunroof, with a lack of support glass bangs down coming in contact with some metal parts, risk of being shattered and cause injury to passengers. In my specific car, somehow all 4 shoe sliders failed on a car with less than 50,000 miles. Upon start, got a "reverse not possible" warning. Tried to drive home, but shifting was very erratic and car slowed dramatically between shifts. On several occasions, cars behind me had to swerve to avoid me. And, if I would have had to reverse out of danger, I would have been in serious trouble. After too many close calls, I stopped to arrange a tow. When I returned to the car to move it, the problem went away. I am afraid to put my family in this car.

Incident on 10/18/21, while coasting into a parking space, my car suddenly accelerated and smashed into a concrete wall. Damage was extensive and car was determined a loss. Service was maintained throughout ownership. There was no warning, no lights, messages, no ABS brakes. Airbag did not deploy. Extensive seatbelt bruising. I'm upset car was a loss but I would never feel safe driving it. It was as if someone else had taken over control and I was powerless to alter the situation.

I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIRBAGS DID WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BUT THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS AND WITH MY INSURANCE AND TITLE HOLDER (CAR LOAN). THE DRIVER HAD SKIN LACERATIONS FROM AIRBAG AND I DN'T KNOW WHAT WENT OFF WHERE AND HAVE MEMORY LOSS SO THE INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD BE BETTER ABLE TO ASESS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ CLA250. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY BEGAN TO DECELERATE AND LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

I HAD TWO MVA ACCIDENTS (FEBRUARY 1 AND MARCH 16, 2016) IN THIS VEHICLE WITHIN~ 3 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. THE ACCIDENTS OCCURRED WHEN I SLOWED DOWN THIS VEHICLE UNDER 10-15MPH. UPON PURCHASE, I NOTICED UNLIKE OTHER CARS I HAVE OWNED, AT A STOP THIS MBGLA 250 VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD CUT OFF COMPLETELY AND START BACK WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THIS WAS NORMAL. HOWEVER, I NOTICED WHEN I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK FROM PARK PLACE BODYWERKS IN MARCH, 2016, (AFTER ~ 5 WEEK REPAIR PERIOD FROM THE FIRST ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED IN FEBRUARY 2016) THE ENGINE GEARS WOULD JUMP FROM 1ST TO 4TH AFTER SLOWING DOWN ON THE BRAKE FOLLOWED BY STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL, IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS JUMPING BETWEEN GEARS, I WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THIS. THE CURRENT CAR ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON MARCH 16, 2016, WITHIN 1 WEEK POST REPAIR FROM PARK PLACE BODYWERKS, AFTER I STOPPED AT A STOPPED LIGHT I HIT THE LIGHT POLE, RESULTING IN FRONT END DAMAGE AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. DURING THIS CONTINUOUS ADDITIONAL 3 MONTH REPAIR PERIOD, I WAS NOTIFIED IN MAY, 2016 BY MY GEICO ADJUSTER THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD THE WRONG FLUID IN IT AND THE CLAIM WOULD BE ESCALATED. IN THE DAYS THAT FOLLOW, I WAS CONTACTED BY A PARK PLACE BODYWERKS AGENT AND ASKED "DID YOU CHANGE THE FLUIDS IN THE TRANSMISSION.." I WAS EXTREMELY OFFENDED AND INFORMED HIM "I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE HOOD..." AS OF TODAY, 6/13/16, GEICO HAS PAID PARK PLACE BODYWERKS ON BEHALF OF MY POLICY $28,831.30 FOR A VEHICLE I HAVE ONLY OWNED SINCE NOVEMBER 2015, DRIVEN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS, BOUGHT CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM PARK PLACE BODYWERKS WITH LESS THAN 8000 MILES, CONTAINED THE WRONG TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM THE DEALERSHIP, HAD TWO LOW SPEED ACCIDENTS EACH WITH NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, A HOSPITALIZATION FOR THE OWNER AND NEVER HAD A DRIVING HISTORY LIKE THIS OF MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS.

I HAVE LEASED GLA 250 MERCEDES BENZ WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I FELT THE GAS PEDAL STOP WORKING AND THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING WITH SIGN OF "COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS" ON THE CARPOOL LANE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS HAPPENING EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE BEEN A MERCEDES BENZ CUSTOMER PAST 5 YEARS AND I NEVER HAD THIS ACCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2015 MERCEDES BENZ GLA250. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL BANGING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL IN MID-TURN CAUSING THE CONTACT TO GO OVER THE CURB. FOLLOWING THE FAILURE, THE TIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE FRACTURED AND ROLLED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE CONTACT IMPACTING THE CURB; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER THE CURB BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND AN UNKNOWN COMPONENT FRACTURED. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT WITH THE CAR. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND WHEN DRIVING IT I DETECTED A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE POSITIONS OF THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP ARE TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOUR ARE WEARING MEN'S TENNIS SHOES THEIR IS A HAZARD OF TOUCHING BOTH THE BRAKE AND GAS WHEN YOU WANT TO APPLY THE BRAKE YOU ALSO APPLY THE GAS. SIMPLY BECAUSE THE SHOES ARE TOO WIDE. THE DIMENSIONS ARE: THE BRAKE PEDAL IS 5" X 3" AND THE GAS PEDAL IS 2" WIDE AND 6" LONG. THE SEPARATION BETWEEN THE TWO PEDALS IS 2 INCHES. THE GAS PEDAL IS 1 INCH FROM THE CENTER WALL ON THE RIGHT AND THE BRAKE PEDAL IS 10 INCHES FROM THE LEFT WALL. I DON'T IF THESE TOLERANCES ARE ACCEPTABLE ONLY DOT WOULD KNOW.
