The contact mentioned there was a smoke odor and noticed the front driver seat caught on fire. The contact stated that the driver extinguished the fire with his clothes by smothering the seat. In addition, there was a hole in the seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they failed to provide a diagnosis and informed the contact the seat was going to be unplugged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 199,800.

I HAD MY HEATED SEAT ON THE MEDIUM SETTING. WHILE ON MY SHORT COMMUTE TO WORK (ABOUT 8 MINUTES) THIS MORNING MY DRIVER SEAT STARTED TO SMOKE AND BURNED A HOLE THROUGH THE LEATHER AND MELTED PART OF MY CLOTHING.

I GOT INTO MY CAR AND TURNED ON THE SEAT WARMER. AFTER 10 MINUTES OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I COULD SMELL SMOKE BUT THOUGHT IT WAS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. A FEW SECONDS LATER I FELT A BURNING SENSATION ON MY LOWER BACK. I REACHED MY LEFT HAND BEHIND ME TO CHECK AND FELT SOMETHING HOT, WHEN I PULLED MY HAND OUT MY FINGER TIPS WERE COVERED IN MELTED LEATHER. THE SMOKE BY THEN INCREASED, I SHUT THE SEAT WARMER OFF AND EXITED THE HIGHWAY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE MOVING IN TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE WILL JUMP FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL; THE ENGINE IS DISENGAGED AND REVS FREELY. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ENGAGE BACK INTO DRIVE UNTIL THE IGNITION IS COMPLETELY TURNED OFF, WHICH LOCKS THE STEERING WHEEL, SO THE DRIVER MUST EXIT THE TRAFFIC LANES WITH NO POWER BEFORE THE VEHICLE CAN BE RESTARTED. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSE A COLLISION AS THE DRIVER HAS NO CONTROL OF THE CAR BUT MUST EXIT HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC LANES, OR COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A FREEWAY.

WE ARE HAVING SOME SERIOUS ISSUES WITH OUR MERCEDES BENZ ML350, 2007. THE SAFETY HAZARD CONCERNS US DEEPLY. BASED UPON OUR RESEARCH, WE HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. OTHERS ARE FACING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT. IT WILL BE DRIVING FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, IT WILL LOSE ALL POWER IN THE TRAFFIC WHERE YOU ARE TOTALLY HELPLESS AND UNABLE TO PULL OVER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH CAN CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. EXAMPLE: WHEN YOU ARE CROSSING A HIGHWAY; YOU THINK THE VEHICLE WILL DRIVE NORMAL. BUT THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DRAGS. THEREFORE, YOU WILL HAVE TO CRAWL. EACH TIME WE HAVE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT APPEARS THAT THE VEHICLE RESETS ITSELF WHEN THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. THEN THE VEHICLE PROCEEDS AS NORMAL. ANOTHER EXAMPLE: IT WON'T SHIFT FROM SECOND GEAR TO THIRD, AND YOU CAN ONLY CRAWL 10-40 MPH. IT REFUSES TO SHIFT ANY MORE. OTHER DRIVERS AROUND US ON THE ROAD BECOME EXTREMELY IMPATIENT AND START SCREAMING AND USING VIOLENT GESTURES. ANOTHER TIME, I WAS COMING OFF A HIGHWAY MERGING TO THE ACCESS ROAD. THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. I PRESSED ON THE GAS, THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT THE CAR SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 35MPH AND A 18 WHEELER BEHIND US ALMOST HIT US BY SWERVING TO AVOID A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I HAD TO CRAWL ON THE ACCESS ROAD WITH FAST MOVING TRAFFIC. THERE ARE OTHER REPORTS WITH THE 2007 MERCEDES BENZ ML350 POWER TRAIN (TRANSMISSION) TO HAVE THESE ISSUES. THE REPORTS I HAVE READ INDICATED THAT THE MERCEDES BENZ CORPORATION IS NOT WILLING TO OWN UP TO THE FACT THAT THIS VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS IMPLICATIONS. I PLEAD FOR YOUR HELP TO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER SO THAT OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR CAN BE SPARED. WE ARE APPEALING FOR YOUR HELP.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT POINTED OUT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH A DIESEL ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (MERCEDES-BENZ OF ANNAPOLIS, 324 6TH ST. ANNAPOLIS, MD 21403, (888) 261-7620) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD RUPTURED, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS TO MELT. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT 'THE VEHICLE WAS DONE'. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED AND THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING INSPECTION TO DETERMINE IF THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. DEAR NHTSA, MY '07 MERCEDES ML-320-CD WAS BOUGHT 'NEW'. THE DEFECT OF A RUN-AWAY, HI RPM REVVING-UP OF THIS DIESEL ENGINE WAS FIRST EXPERIENCED APPROX 21/2 MONTHS AGO. IT HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER HAVING IT PARKED AT A LOCAL SHOPPING CTR FROM WHICH I DROVE IT ONTO THE MAIN STREET ATA MODERATE SPEED OF LESS THAN 20 MPH. SUDDENLY THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO MAYBE 5 OR 6 000 RPM CAUSING THIS SUV ACCELERATE BEYOND CONTROL. I HAD TO USE BOTH OF MY FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BEFORE PULLING OVER ONTO THE CURB WHERE I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION . AFTER THAT, THIS SUV WOULD NOT RESTART AGAIN FOR A WHILE, LIKE 20 OR 30 MINS. I bought a 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4Matic in late 2023 from auction with a salvage title and I can't take it to inspection center to get plates, because a lot of things such as signal lights, seats power, key fob, radio, wipers, and rear gate to work because the rear SAM module is damage by rain water, which I found on YouTube that at least 3 models from 2006 to 2012 (including my model) suffering from same problem and yet Mercedes company didn't forced to considered as a recall so we can fixed for free since it is not our fault.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I SMELLED WHAT SMELLED LIKE WIRES BURNING THEN MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON BY ITSELF AND WIPED AT A VERY FAST PACE, THEN THE HORN STARTED BLOWING (ON ITS OWN) VERY LOUDLY, I PULLED OVER AT A TIRE SHOP AND I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR PANEL. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THEY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. WHEN I SPOKE TO A MECHANIC I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE WIRING HARNESS AND THAT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY THE PROBLEM.

The contact owned a 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that his son had to apply pressure and pump the brake pedal multiple times to coast the vehicle to a stop however, the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the contact’s vehicle crashed into a pole. The air bags failed to deploy. No injuries were sustained. No medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The contact then stated that she received NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V315000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The dealer nor manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Received recall notice dated August 2022. Phoned local Mercedes Benz of Chicago on 1520 W. North Avenue and Mercedes Benz of Chicago Service Center on 949 N. Elston Ave. Scheduled a mobile inspection multiple times but they never showed. I was instructed to contact Brake Booster Hotline to have them tow the vehicle but Tarek at this company informed me that I needed to coordinate a date/time with MB dealer to accept the vehicle upon towing. Left a couple of messages with Maya at MB dealer to coordinate appointment for towing company to tow the vehicle but have not received a response. I phoned MB dealer again today and spoke with Jenny who informed me that she would notify the manager, Vince. Jenny informed me that the vehicle cannot be serviced even if it is towed to their dealership. Her experience has been that they have been unable to service these vehicles from this particular recall. This recall issue has continued to go unresolved and the recall notice clearly states that owners are advised not to drive the vehicle until inspection is performed. The vehicle has not been driven for many months and we are currently just waiting for any response from Mercedes Benz.

REVERSE PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AT SLOW SPEED THEN STOPPED. ON DRIVE POSITION, VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD WHEN GAS PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE AT SAME SITUATION ABOUT SAME TIME.THEN AT THE FREEWAY, IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC VEHICLE BRAKES FAILED AND HIT A BIG-RIG TRUCK. NO WARNING LIGHT THAT CAME ON. I PRESSED FOOT PEDAL HARD BUT VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND CONTINUED ROLLING UNTIL IT REAR ENDED THE TRUCK. LUCKILY OUR SPEED WAS 0-5 MPH AND NO INJURY TO MY 2 PASSENGERS. CHP ASSISTED US. VEHICLE WAS NORMAL WHEN PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER. I HAD IT TOWED TO NEAREST MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP. PER SERVICE MINDER, VEHICLE UNDERGO REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND IS SERVICED BY SAME DEALERSHIP.

The contact stated that the back part of the seat was smoking and he stopped the vehicle, exited, and noticed the back of his jacket and seat had a hole. The contact stated that he was not injured. The contact did not see flames. The contact stated that he put his hand on the hole to stop the smoke. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact stated that the failure cause was not diagnosed as he only received an estimate to replace the seat and heating system. The vehicle was currently at the dealer for repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000. Consumer has stated warranty has expired. Heated seat coil and electric wires/assembly was the cause of fire.

I STOPED ON THE RIGHT OF THE FREEWAY TO DISCOVER THAT THE SEAT LEATHER WAS BURNED WITH HEATING WIRE, WITH SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE SEAT. MY SHIRT WAS DAMAGED WITH THE BURN. THEY HAVE NOT GOT BACK TO ME ABOUT GETTING A WELDER TO COME AND I FEEL LIKE IF IT'S A SAFETY RECALL THAT THEY SHOULD GET ON THE BALL TO GET THE VEHICLE UP TO CALL. DEFECT/ MECHANICAL FAILURE OF FRONT PASSENGER JACK MOUNT. I HAD JACKED UP THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY 2007 ML350. BOTH BACK WHEELS WERE BLOCKED WITH AUTOMOTIVE WHEEL BLOCKS. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED, AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WITH THE MOTOR OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON MY CEMENT DRIVEWAY. I CAREFULLY PLACE THE JACK TO ENSURE IT ENGAGED INTO THE JACK MOUNT AND THAT THE BASE OF THE JACK WAS SECURE AND STABLE ON THE CEMENT. I LOOSENED THE LUG NUTS PRIOR TO JACKING THE CAR. AFTER REMOVING THE WHEEL, I ROLLED THE WHEEL OUT OF THE WAY AND WENT TO GET A JACK STAND FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. MOMENTS LATER, THE VEHICLE FELL. THE JACK MOUNT HAD FAILED AND THE EXTENDED JACK DAMAGED THE FRONT FENDER, JACK MOUNT, AND UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE I TOOK ALL REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS IN JACKING THE CAR AND I AM VERY SURPRISED AND CONCERNED THAT THIS OCCURRED. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. My 2007 MB ML320 CDI has problem with water entering where spare tire located,after rain or when i use car wash.It builds inside so much water that module for for fuel pump stopped working,all wires were corroded,I paid for repairs from my pocket because MB dealership refused to fix my vehicle even they new MB ML/GL models have issue with water entering spare tire area.Now I find out they have recall with over323,000 ML/GL models.Recall number22v-955.I would like to file this complaint because dealership refuses to cover my previous repairs.Water still entering trunk area,and I have to constantly drain and vacuum trunk area.I hope you will have another recall or add older MB ML/GL to recent recall list.Thanks.

2007 Mercedes-Benz ML350 DEFECTIVE BALANCE SHAFT CAUSING PAUSE & STOP IN TRAFFIC This is a known defect and has been resolved previously in customers favor in class action and private lawsuits against Mercedes Benz USA. Mercedes refuses to take responsibility for a defective and unsafe build THAT PUTS EVERYONE IN THE PATH OF THIS CARS LIFE IN JEOPARDY. PLEASE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC WILL YOU FORCE THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE BALANCE SHAFT before I have to get an attorney! Balance Shaft - UNSAFE!! BALANCE SHAFT has made this a suicide/weapon on wheels. When driving the car will suddenly and with no notice lose power, slow down substantially or stop on its own and sometimes will not moved forward at all. This has happened in traffic and I was almost hit. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE COULD KILL ME OR ANYONE AROUND ME. Each time I have had to turn on emergency flashers, turn off the car and restart. I drove home with Emergency flashers on all the way. 2 mechanics, including dealer advise this is a known problem for my year and model. Mercedes knows this is defective workmanship & they putting lives at risk. Now I have NO TRANSPORTATION AS THIS CAR IS UNSAFE. I have been advised not to drive the car.

The ABS warning light and an unknown warning light were illuminated. The contact stated she veered to the side of the road and then drove the vehicle to her residence at a slower speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ABS system and the power steering system had failed. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 132,945.

YEARS AGO, WHILE DRIVING THROUGH NEW MEXICO, MY DASH AND COMMAND CENTER FLASHED OFF AND REBOOTED. IT WAS A LITTLE CONCERNING BECAUSE WE WERE USING THE GPS EXCLUSIVELY FOR OUR DIRECTIONS. THERE WAS ALSO A TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT THAT CAME ON WARNING US TO GET TO THE NEAREST DEALER, WITHOUT SHIFTING GEARS. THIS HAPPENED PERHAPS 10-15 TIMES UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO DETOUR TO THE MB DEALER IN ALBUQUERQUE - ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL PEOPLE. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD SOUND STRANGE BUT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY GLOW PLUG SENSOR OR MODULE - WHICH THEY DIDN'T HAVE IN STOCK. SINCE OUR DESTINATION WAS L.A., THEY CALLED AHEAD TO MB OF BEVERLY HILLS (BH), (ALSO WONDERFUL PEOPLE) TO CHECK IF THEY HAD ONE. THEY (MB OF BH) COULDN'T FIND ANY OTHER TROUBLE CODES EXCEPT A FEW POWER SPIKES SO THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, UNDER WARRANTY. THEY EVEN RUSHED IT DUE TO A FAMILY EMERGENCY BACK HOME. IT HAPPENED ON THE WAY BACK SEVERAL TIMES, THEN DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL I DROVE TO COLORADO IN 2013. IT HAPPENED REPEATEDLY WHILE THERE. I CALLED THE MB DEALER IN DENVER WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CALL ME BACK - THEY NEVER DID. I WONDER IF IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A CHANGE IN ALTITUDE OR LOWER HUMIDITY (ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGES)- PERHAPS EXTENDED DRIVING AS I DROVE 1,200 + MILES TO CO IN 20 HOURS STOPPING ONLY TWICE FOR FUEL AND ONCE FOR A HOTEL. PER AN E-MAIL SENT TO DAIMLER AG-MERCEDES, I HAVE A 2007 ML350 WITH ONLY 66,000 MILES WHICH IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS THE CAR IS NOT SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. THE FACTS ARE: THERE HAVE BEEN MANY INSTANCES, REPORTS, & COMPLAINTS TO MERCEDES WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT IS NOT SAFE & THE MERCEDES CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR REPAIR.IT SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING AT ALL ESPECIALLY WITH ONLY 66,000 MILES. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE SARASOTA, FL MERCEDES DEALER. COST IS $1,700 WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED & CORRECTED BY MERCEDES. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 2 MERCEDES & HAVE HAD MERCEDES FOR 20 YEARS THIS IS AN UNSAFE SITUATION; IT HAS OCCURRED WITH OTHER CARS; AND MERCEDES HAS RECEIVED MANY COMPLAINTS. THIS IS NOT A REPAIR ISSUE; IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE SPEED SENSOR THAT MERCEDES IS REPAIRING IS A HAZARDOUS SITUATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR STOPS SHIFTING TO ANY GEAR WHEN LEAVING A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS. WE HAVE HAD MERCEDES FOR 20 YEARS & ARE AWARE THAT REPAIRS ARE COSTLY, BUT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING AND IT SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MERCEDES TO CORRECT IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCEDES-BENZ ML320 CDI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK FAILED. WHILE A SERVICE STATION ADDED FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING TO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE FUEL TANK AND FOUND A CRACKED ON THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 110,000.

I PURCHASED A USED 2007 MERCEDES ML320 CDI ON MARCH 12. AFTER A WEEK OF DRIVING - I INSPECTED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT (I USUALLY DO). I NOTICED ENGINE OIL DRIPPING (SMALL BUT NOTICEABLE AMOUNT) ON THE SERPENTINE BELT. I DID NOT THINK IT WAS URGENT - SO I TOOK PICTURES SO I CAN SEND IT TO MY SELLER TO CLAIM WARRANTY. ON MARCH 23, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY ON I-65. SUDDENLY, STEERING BECAME VERY HARD. IT WAS A CURVING HIGHWAY SO I WAS FORCED TO GO INTO OTHER LANES. LUCKY, TRAFFIC WAS NOT HEAVY SO I DID NOT SWERVE INTO ANY OTHER VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO WRESTLE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL ON TIME TO MOVE AWAY SAFELY. ALSO, AT THE SAME TIME WE LOST STEERING, THE BATTERY LIGHT WENT ON. AFTER STOPPING, WE POPPED THE HOOD AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THE SAME BELT MENTIONED EARLIER HAD DISINTEGRATED INTO SEVERAL PIECES. WE CALLED FOR A TOW VEHICLE. MERCEDES BENZ FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR $300 AND ASSURED ME THAT THERE IS NO OIL LEAK. 200 MILES LATER, I GOT HOME - AND SAW THE SAME LEAK, SAME SPOT. OIL WAS DRIPPING FROM THE TURBO TO INTERCOOLER HOSE JOINT (WHICH WAS JUST ABOVE THE SERPENTINE BELT). I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND THE ONLY SIMILAR ISSUE I FOUND LED TO DTB S-B-09.20/29. I ASKED MERCEDES, BUT THEY SAY ITS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SO I AM CURRENTLY RESEARCHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM PERMANENTLY. *TR

WE HAVE A 2007 MERCEDES BENZ ML350 AND JUST BOUGHT THE EXTENDED NEW CAR WARRANTY FOR AN ADDITIONAL $4500. IT WAS RAINING AND THE ALARM ON THE CAR WENT OFF, ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR STOPPED WORKING AND THE REAR LFT GATE STOPPED WORKING AS WELL AS REAR LOCKS. THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AFTER 3 DAYS AND STATED THAT IS BECAUSE THE REAR TAIL LIGHT IS ALLOWING WATER IN AND THAT IT COMPROMISED/RUINED THE POWER LIFT GATE CONTROL UNIT. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT YOU ISSUED A RECALL FOR WITH THE 2009 ML350 WITH RECALL ID # 09V076000: A FAULTY SEAL AROUND THE REAR TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY, WATER MAY ENTER THE REAR COMPARTMENT CONTAINING THE SPARE TIRE. WATER CONTAMINATION OF THE CONTROL UNIT FOR THE POWER LIFT GATE CAN RESULT IN DISABLING OF THE POWER LIFT GATE MOTOR. CONSEQUENCES: WATER WILL CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT WHICH COULD LEAD TO A FIRE. THE DEALERSHIP (MERCEDES BENZ OF TAMPA) AGREES THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY MERCEDES BENZ USA BUT MERCEDES BENZ USA WILL ONLY FIX THE TAIL LIGHT BUT WILL NOT PAY FOR THE COST OF RELOCATING A NEW POWER LIFT GATE UNIT (AS OUTLINED IN YOUR RECALL NOTICE FOR THE 2009 MODEL). THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOTED SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE THE 2007 ML350 SUFFERED THE SAME PROBLEM. MOT ONLY DO I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A SEPARATE RECALL FOR 2007 MODELS BUT QUITE POSSIBLY FOR 2007-2009 MODELS SINCE THE PROBLEM EXISTED BACK IN 2007 AND STILL NOTHING WAS DONE. MANY MORE FAMILIES ARE AT RISK. THIS ISSUE DISABLED MY CAR AND COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING SINCE IT ALSO AFFECTED THE BATTERY TOO. *TR
