During unrelated work, a mechanic discovered the retaining ring for recall N08 (rear axle pinion nut) was not installed and the pinion nut was loose enough to turn by hand. He stated the recall had either been performed incorrectly or not at all, and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The recall shows “completed” in 2013, but the defect is still present. I contacted Stellantis Customer Care, submitted photos, and they confirmed in writing that if the defect still exists, the recall must be performed free of charge regardless of age, mileage, or ownership. I sent the photos of the missing ring, screenshots showing the recall marked completed, and Stellantis’ confirmation to the dealership before having the vehicle towed to verify coverage. The truck was towed to Time Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Portland. My initial contact was [XXX] at that location. However, all recall decisions and communication later came from [XXX] , who works at a different dealership. Over the next month, the dealership repeatedly stalled the recall, saying they were waiting on approval from the district manager and then from the recall department, but no action was ever taken. Despite having Stellantis’ written confirmation and clear photographic evidence of the unresolved defect, the dealership refused to perform the recall. They insisted on treating it as a “warranty” issue and cited reasons such as mileage, age, and not being the original owner—none of which apply to safety recalls. They then stated that teardown and diagnosis “would run $1000,” even though the defect has already been documented by both the mechanic and Stellantis. All communication, including photos, the mechanic’s findings, Stellantis’ confirmation of coverage, and the dealership’s refusal, is available upon request. 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 truck purchased used late May 2025 with 57000 miles. Late August 2025 with 60000 miles rear axle fell off when driving on Freeway at 60 miles per hour. Very serious accident was narrowly avoided as could not steer vehicle.Truck was serviced at dealership for recall of a pinion nut coming loose at 36107 miles in September 2013. Per this recall, the loose pinion nut can cause the axle to fail. The recall maintenance done in September 2013 at 36107 miles only lasted 24000 miles and serious safety issues reoccurred. In my opinion, on my vehicle the recall did not fix the problem. Now I am stuck with a $5000 repair on a vehicle with known recalls and safety issues that was supposedly fixed.Perhaps a second recall should be considered regarding this issue.

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear axle differential pin retaining bolt had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,704.

The vehicle was repaired under recall, but was not correctly fixed. Now the rear differential is totally shot with no warning. My dealer says it will not be covered under recall warranty since I was not the owner at the time of the recall repair.

WE HAVE A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 THAT WAS PURCHASED USED FROM A DEALER ON 8/15/19. VIN RECORDS INDICATE THAT RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED IN 2014 TO SECURE THE PINION NUT. ON 8/31/20, WE WERE DRIVING AND HEARD A LOUD SOUND, OUR VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE, FISHTAIL AND THE REAR END LOCKED UP CAUSING US TO COME TO A STOP SIDEWAYS ACROSS 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC JUST MISSING HITTING A PEDISTRIAN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHOM AFTER INSPECTION STATED THERE WAS NO SECUREMENT DEVICE IN PLACE WHICH RESULTED IN THE PINION NUT COMING OUT CAUSING OUR DRIVESHAFT TO FALL OUT AND THE REAR END LOCK UP.

This incident has happened several times while driving on the road. When driving at slow speeds, approaching a red light, or slowing down to make a left or right turn, the vehicle shuts off without warning. The power steering and brakes stop working, making the car hard to handle. I have to put it in neutral, restart the vehicle, and start it back up without any problems. This is a very well-maintained vehicle and a daily driver. The car has 172000 miles on it. I have done internet research on this, and it seems to be a very common thing with Dodge Ram Trucks.

vehicle has 113,000 miles on it now, the engine is knocking so I brought it in to Weber in Detroit Lakes Minnesota they say it needs cams and lifters e c t. Estimate is $5,000 or new engine $9,000 so now I can't get to work! I commute back and forth every day 70 miles each way, this vehicle should not have this problem as of yet in my eyes! Will the factory / dealership warranty this fix for me? I purchased vehicle from Weber in Detroit Lakes almost four years ago with 80,000 miles on it I have only driven at 33,000 miles since then!! I don't have that kind of money for this fix nor can I afford to buy a replacement vehicle but now the knocking you can hear it outside the vehicle but you cannot hear it in the cab of the vehicle so how long has this problem actually been going on before the fact of me noticing it just very recently so then I quit driving it immediately and brought it directly to Weber as per appointment

The contact stated that while attempting to obtain an auto warranty from Car Shield, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 125,526 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 228,863.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 173,840 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 301,000.

WIN module failure. When driving down the road/highway, the vehicle will turn off with no warning of any problems. The key can be removed while the vehicle is still running. The vehicle will start up with the key cranked diagonally but when released the vehicle dies making it more difficult to start the vehicle after it dies while driving down the road/highway. When a bump is hit in the road the key moves and the vehicle dies. We have spoken to the local Dodge dealership who confirmed that it is a WIN module issue while servicing the vehicle due to other recalls as well as several locksmiths.

The truck has shut down completely while turning into busy intersections and crossing highways we have been lucky to have been not hit by oncoming traffic. You have to put the truck in park and restart the vehicle. It has been to the dealership in the past and couldn’t be replicated. It shows no faults just shuts off for no reason this has happened 5 times in 3 months, 8 in a year,

took the vehicle to the dealer on 2/27/25 on invoice # chcs169951 and they have refused to fix the issue. i was given a proof of correction paper without doing any or the work and told that they are no responsible to fix the issue because it is an older vehicle. I have been trying to register the vehicle but am unable to because it will not pass the brake and light inspection. I was told that it would take 2-3 weeks to update the system and has now been close to 2 months and still no update.

When I go to get fuel, the tank takes the fuel slower than it should. And if does start to accept the fuel at the pace in which the pumps deliver it, it then overflows.

WHEN I START MY 2010 RAM 1500 THERE IS A LOUD TICK COMING FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, FROM THE BOLTS BREAKING DUE TO THE MATERIAL USED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CAB THROUGH THE VENTS.

The frame has rusted thru, the fuel tank strap has failed and the fuel tank has dropped. If this had happened while driving, it could have killed him and many others. Upon researching for information, we found recall U04/nhsta 18v-160 which stated this document replaced service bulletin TSB# 1400218 - all for this exact problem. This was a regional recall/extended warranty and was not issued for vehicles in our region. But this document does state that should any vehicle meet the criteria described (make date range, model year, and problem) that that vehicle should be covered. My fathers truck meets all 3 criteria. Upon calling FCA (Fiat, Chrysler Automobiles), who issued the document, we were told that we aren't able to be included in this issue, since we don't have a recall listed and also because the recall turned from a recall to an extended warranty that expired in 2022. If this is a known issue why is there an expiration date on the repair of it? My father's truck only has about 67,000 miles on it, which is probably why the problem is only presenting now. And if we had known there was a possible chance that this could happen, why weren't we informed to check it? He is the original owner of the vehicle and we are appalled at the FCA repsonse. THE OIL PAN ON MY 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 IS RUSTED THROUGH SO THE OIL LEAKS OUT ANY TIME THE MOTOR IS RUNNING. I HAVE HAD TO ADD AS MUCH AS 1 QUART OF MOTOR OIL AFTER DRIVING ONLY 50 MILES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IF THE OIL ALL DRAINS OUT THEN THE MOTOR WILL SEIZE UP AND THE WHOLE TRUCK BECOMES GARBAGE! IT FEELS LIKE IT WAS MADE OF VERY THIN/CHEAP METAL BECAUSE WHEN I TIGHTEN THE OIL DRAIN PLUG, THE WHOLE END OF THE OIL PAN FLEXES UNDER VERY LITTLE TORQUE.

2/25 I DISCOVERED THE FRAME CROSSMEMBER WHERE ONE OF THE TWO STRAPS WHICH HOLD UP THE FUEL TANK RUSTED AWAY TO THE POINT THAT THE STRAP HAS FALLEN OUT OF THE FRAME. I CONTACTED RAM CUSTOMER CARE VIA ONLINE CHAT ASKING FOR A REPAIR ESTIMATE, IF THEY COULD VERIFY THAT THE PART NUMBER I HAVE LOCATED CAN ACTUALLY RECTIFY THE SITUATION, IF THEY COULD VERIFY IF THE TSB I'VE LOCATED IS RELATED TO THIS ISSUE, AND IF THEY COULD ADVISE WHICH DEALER CLOSE TO ME HAS AN ON-SITE BODY SHOP TO PERFORM THE REPAIR AND IF THEY'RE HIGHLY RATED BY FCA, AND THEIR ONLY RESPONSE WAS TO ADVISE THEY CAN SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME AND PROVIDE THE NUMBER FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, WHICH THEY WERE UNWILLING TO COVER TRANSPORTATION COSTS. THE ATTACHED FILES SHOW THE STRAP ITSELF WHICH IS INTACT, THE PORTION OF THE FRAME WHICH THE STRAP PULLED OUT OF AND IS RUSTED, A PICTURE OF HOW LOW THE FUEL TANK IS CURRENTLY HANGING, AND THE PDF OF THE CONVERSATION WITH THE FCA REPRESENTATIVE WHICH OCCURRED 2/27.

i recieved a recall for the rear axle pinion nut, took truck in and was told my truck was not involved. then i recieved another recall for the same thing and took truck in and they installed a retainer on the nut and this was supposed to fix the problem. now at 85,000 miles the pinion came loose so the retainer was not the answer. took to dealer and they want me to pay then try to get my money back from chrysler. i think chrysler should fix it at there cost because they knew they had a bad product to start with. truck is well taken care of not beaten normal driving. there is no way a rear end should go out at 85,000 miles. sent a notice to chrysler complaint dept but no responce, gues they just dont care.hope you do

I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TO ORDER THE PART HOWEVER IT HAS BEEN ON AN INDEFINITE BACKORDER FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS. THE LAST TIME I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WAS THIS PAST TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2021. I ALSO CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER CARE LINE IN JANUARY 2021. I AM AWARE THAT THERE WAS A CIVIL ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THIS PART DATING BACK TO AROUND 2017. ON 11-8-14, I TOOK A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK IN FOR ENGINE REPAIRS. THE MECHANIC NOTED BOTH FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED REPLACED. A SEARCH FOR THE NEEDED PARTS REVEALED NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE FOR AT LEAST 30 TO 60 DAYS. FOUR WEEKS LATER ON 12-5-14, A FLUID LEAK WAS NOTED FROM THE FRONT END. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIGHT FRONT AXLE SEAL NEEDED REPLACED IMMEDIATELY, DUE TO A HEAVY LEAK.THE NORMAL REPAIR WOULD INVOLVE REPLACING THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINT TO ENTER THE AXLE TO GET TO THE SEAL. THIS COULD NOT BE DONE SINCE NO LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS COULD BE FOUND TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. THE MECHANIC ACCESSED THE AXLE SEAL BY GOING THRU THE TOP OF THE AXLE. THE SEAL WILL AGAIN HAVE TO BE REPLACED WHEN LOWER BALL JOINTS BECOME AVAILABLE, AT A COST OF AN ADDITIONAL $150. THIS SITUATION PRESENTS A RISK TO THE DRIVER AND MOTORING PUBLIC, SINCE THE NECESSARY PARTS CAN NOT BE SOURCED. IT CREATES A RISK THAT THE LUBRICATING FLUID INSIDE THE AXLE WILL LEAK OUT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE AXLE "TYING UP," CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL AND CRASH. CHRYSLER WILL NOT, OR CAN NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY PARTS AVAILABLE TO ITS DEALERS OR INDEPENDENT MECHANICS. The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle was jerking as the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the contact was informed that the oxygen sensors and transmission fluid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, however, the contact attempted to replace the oxygen sensors himself. The failure reoccurred and the vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the proper oxygen sensors were replaced; however, the contact stated that when he drove over 45 MPH, all warning lights would illuminate on the instrument panel and that an abnormal noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken back to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. Additionally, during the repair the contact was informed that the rear differential had loose bolts and would also need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however the VIN was not available at the time of the call therefore a case could not be opened. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 240,000.

IT WAS DIAGNOSED BY MECHANIC, NOW DEALER WANTS TO VERIFY. ENGINE HAS HAD TO HAVE NEW CAMS PUT IN. ALSO HAS HAD FAILED EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS. We have had our truck taken to Nyle Maxwell in Taylor Texas and they have were suppose to check the truck because two lights came up on the dash board which dash ESP ABS and traction control light.The shift stick was stuck in park. They towed it to there shop but the lights were off and the gear shift was working. I drove off the lot had to stop at a light and my truck veered left sharply. They have looked at this problem twice. They are not finding anything but it is my truck I drive with my kids. We need so help. They also had to fix the ac and the serpentine belt because that broke while I was driving after they said it was good and safe to drive.

BRAKES FAILED APPROACHING A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION, WHILE TRYING TO SLOW DOWN FROM A 55-MPH ZONE. THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKE RESPONSE. LUCKILY, I HAD THE SENSE TO PUMP THE BRAKES QUICKLY BEFORE PLOWING INTO THE BUSY INTERSECTION! TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE MASTER BOOST PUMP, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE IN STOCK. BASICALLY, GOT MY TRUCK BACK A WEEK LATER AND WAS IN SHOCK OVER THE COST TO REPLACE ABOUT A $125 PART (AROUND $500). I NOTICED THAT THERE HAD BEEN RECALLS PERTAINING TO PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA WITH PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS AND EVEN 2010 YEAR MODELS, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN# WAS NOT AFFECTED...THINK THEY MAY NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS TO AVOID SOMEONE POSSIBLY BEING KILLED OR KILLING SOMEONE FROM A SIMILAR PROBLEM! UPON HIS INITIAL LEAVING HE HEARD NOTHING SO HE PROCEEDED TO PICK UP THE SPEED TO 55MPH TO CHECK FOR VIBRATION IN A NEUTRAL COAST DOWN. UPON REACHING 45MPH THE DRIVE-SHAFT COMPLETELY SNAPPED AND SEPARATED FROM THE REAR END ASSEMBLY, RESULTING IN THE REAR END COMPLETELY LOCKING UP AND SENDING THE TRUCK SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL AND THE DRIVE SHAFT SWINGING VIOLENTLY UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK UNTIL THE TRUCK CAME TO REST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION WHEN THE TRUCK WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY COMPLETELY UNTHREADED ITSELF FROM THE DRIVESHAFT RESULTING IN A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE REAR END. SHE IS SCARED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK NOW BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO GET INTO AND ACCIDENT WITH KIDS . BROUGHT BACK TO DODGE AND TALKED TO THE MANAGER ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE TRUCK. While driving my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, the key fob (FOBIK) has fallen out of the ignition while actively driving. The key can be removed from the ignition while actively driving with little to no effort. Upon this happening, the vehicle sometimes remains fully operable, at times it remains driving but looses speedometer, wipers, heat/ac, running/brake lights and turn signals, or the vehicle will completely shut off, losing all function and drivability to include power steering. In one instance, the vehicle remained driving but lost wipers and lights during a night time storm. On another occasion, the vehicle lost all drivability traveling at a high rate of speed at night with traffic on a highway in a rural area with no streetlights. This defect has provided for a multitude of highly dangerous events while driving. There IS a recall (recall ref K08) describing this exact issue, however my VIN was not included in the recall and is not being recognized and or honored for recall repair by local Chrysler Dodge Dealerships or by Chrysler Headquarters. Chrysler Headquarters customer service communicated it is the responsibility of the NHTSB to add my VIN to the recall in order for the repair or replacement of the faulty WIN module along with replacement and programming of key fobs to be covered. This repair is estimated to cost $2500.

THE DEFROST ON MY 2010 RAM 1500 P/U IS COVERED UNDER RECALL K-17 THAT REPROGRAMS THE HVAC SOFTWARE AND TESTS THAT ALL THE ACTUATORS WHICH DIRECT HEAT AND AIRFLOW ARE WORKING. I CONTACTED DODGE RECALL AND CONFIRMED THE RECALL # AND APPLICABILITY TO MY TRUCK. I WAS TOLD BY THE RECALL SPECIALIST THAT THE TRUCK HAD THE COMPLETED RECALL BUT THAT IT COULD BE COMPLETED TWICE UNDER THE RECALL. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THE TRUCK. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE DEAL WHERE THE RECALL WAS ACCOMPLISHED. CHRYSLER COULD NOT TELL ME WHICH DEALER DI THE RECALL, I CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS TRYING TO GET THE HVAC ACTUATOR FOR THE DEFROST SCHEDULED FOR REPAIR. DRIVING UP A STEEP MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY WHEN TRUCK LURCHED VIOLENTLY TWICE AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A SWITCHBACK CORNER WITH A HORRIBLE DRAGGING SOUND AND SMOKE EVERYWHERE. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD. OIL AND DRIVELINE PARTS WERE ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY. DENTED THE GAS TANK (POSSIBLY PUT A HOLE IN THE GAS TANK), WE WERE TOLD THE GAS TANK WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED REPLACED. THE REAR-END PINION NUT CAME LOOSE AND LOCKED UP THE REAR END CAUSING THE DRIVELINE TO FALL OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY, TORE A HOLE IN THE TRANSFER CASE AND DAMAGED THE GAS TANK. WE WERE SIMPLY LUCKY THERE WERE OTHER MOTORISTS ON SAME HIGHWAY THAT COULD STOP AND HELP US AVOID A MAJOR COLLISION ON THE STEEP, BLIND CORNER/ON THE MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY. DODGE IS GIVING US THE "RUN AROUND" ON GETTING THIS FIXED. THEY FINALLY REPAIRED THE TRUCK, PUTTING THE SAME, BUT NEW FAULTY PART THAT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A RECALL PROCESS, INTO OUR TRUCK AND WANTING US TO BE HAPPY WITH IT. WE ARE NOT. THE 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 HAS SUSPENSION PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BALL JOINTS BEING TOO SMALL. THIS LEADS TO MY TRUCK SKIPPING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ANY BUMPY ROADS AND HAS CAUSED ME MANY, MANY TIMES TO SUDDENLY LOOSE CONTROL. ON BUMPY DIRT ROADS IT CAN HAPPEN AT 35-45 MPH. ON THE HIGHWAY IT IS VERY BAD BETWEEN 55-60 MPH IF YOU HIT ANY BUMP OR EVEN IN A TIGHT CURVE. THIS TRUCK IS HIGHLY UNSTABLE. WHEN PULLING A BOAT WHERE LESS WEIGHT IS ON THE FRONT WHEELS, IT MULTIPLIES THE PROBLEM. I AM FORCED TO NEVER GO FASTER THAN 50MPH ON ANY CURVES THAT ARE REMOTELY SHARP. THE 2010 MODEL UPPER TETHER STRAP IS 52029441-AA. IF YOU PUT THESE TWO PARTS SIDE BY SIDE THE MOUNTING OF THE BRACKETS APPEAR TO BE THE SAME AS FAR AS MOUNTING IS CONCERNED IN THE VEHICLE. ROCKER PANELS ARE RUSTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. CAUSING LARGE HOLES TO FORM. WHILE IN PARK, ROLLED THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW DOWN HEARD A METAL CLANK AND THE WINDOW WOULD NO LONGER GO UP OR DOWN, AS THE WINDOW REGULATOR FELL APART. WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTRY ROAD, I NOTICED SLIGHT DIFFICULTY IN SHIFTING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. UPON HAVING THE CODE READ, THE TRANSMISSION SELENOID IS STUCK OPEN. 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 HEMI TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN INSTANTLY THE GAUGE CLUSTER STARTED ACTING ERRATIC. FIRST THE TIRE PRESSURE DISPLAY SAID THAT DIFFERENT TIRES WERE SHOWING A MULTITUDE OF DIFFERENT PRESSURES THE GAS GAUGE STARTED FLICKERING BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY AS WELL AS THE STOP WORKING OF THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER AIR-CONDITIONED, POWER STEERING AND CONTINUAL WINDSHIELD WIPER ON EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE OFF AT THE SWITCH. RADIO INTERMITTENTLY ON AND OFF AND ABS AND AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. ALL FOUR WINDOWS FAIL TO OPERATE AND INTERIOR LIGHTING WILL NOT COME ON. GAUGE FUNCTION FLUCTUATES EVERY COUPLE SECOND.

WHILE TRAVELLING ON A HIGHWAY (STRAIGHT AWAY) MY LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING LET GO CAUSING TIRE AND ROTOR TO DISCONNECT FROM VEHICLE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING WAS IN VERY BAD SHAPE, NEEDING REPLACEMENT. VEHICLE HAS UNDER 65000 MILES ON IT. PREVIOUS BEARINGS ON DODGE RAM TRUCKS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS VIBRATION OR STEERING ISSUE UNTIL THE WHEEL CAME LOOSE.

THE HVAC SYSTEM IN THE TRUCK FAILED. AIR WILL NOT FLOW THROUGH THE DASH FACE VENTS OR DEFROST VENTS. BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. DEALER SAID THAT ONE OR TWO "MODE DOOR ACTUATORS NEED TO BE REPLACED" THEY SAID THE DASH BOARD NEEDED TO BE REMOVED AND IT COULD COST SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM I FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE MODE DOOR ACTUATORS AND TO REPROGRAM THE CONTROL HEAD SOFTWARE (K17). MY TRUCK HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IN 2012. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE MODE DOOR ACTUATORS UNDER RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAID THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASKED ABOUT THE K17 RECALL. THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE I REFUSED FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS. THE ONLY OTHER DIAGNOSTICS THE DEALER SAID NEEDED TO BE DONE WAS TO REMOVE THE DASHBOARD TO SEE IF IT WAS ONE OR TWO BAD ACTUATORS AND THE COST IN LABOR TO REMOVE THE DASH WOULD BE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS THEY JUST DON'T KNOW HOW MANY ACTUATORS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE COST OF THE PARTS IS MINIMAL BUT THE LABOR IS NOT. EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAK OFF AND THE TRUCK DEVELOPS EXHAUST LEAK...THE TRUCK THEN HAS NO CONTROL OF REGULATING EXHAUST GASES AND NEXT YOU WILL GET A DAMAGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THIS WILL ALSO CAUSE OXYGEN SENSOR TO CHANGE MIXTURE. THESE BOLTS ARE BREAKING ON THE ENGINE, ON THEIR OWN. THE BOLTS ARE TOO SMALL FOR A EXHAUST AREA BOLT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SHE ATTEMPTED TO HITCH A TRAILER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE RECEIVING HITCH BOLD WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE HITCH BOLD AND THE BOLT DID NOT SECURE THE AREA CAUSING THE BOLT HOLE TO EXPAND. THE HITCH HAD TO BE WELDED TO THE VEHICLE BUT THE TRAILER MOVED WHILE HAULING AND THE WELDING MAY FRACTURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WE WERE DRIVING OUR 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 ON A COUNTY HIGHWAY WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD WHIRRING NOISE. AS WE APPROACHED A DOWNHILL SECTION AND MY HUSBAND TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE GAS THE NOISE WENT AWAY, BUT CAME BACK LOUDER AS SOON AS HE PUT HIS FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. INSTANTLY THERE WAS A BIG BOOM AND THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE LOCKED UP, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SWERVING WITH THE BACK END JACK KNIFING ON THE ROAD WHILE BOUNCING/BUCKING LIKE MOTION GIVEN THE TIRES FELT AS THOUGH THEY WERE ALSO LOCKED UP. WE COULD FEEL AND HEAR SOMETHING UNDER THE CAR BASHING THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THERE WERE NO ONCOMERS FORTUNATELY AND MY HUSBAND DID MANAGE TO STOP THE VEHICLE JUST SHORT OF THE GUARDRAIL AND GOING OVER THE RAVINE. THE CAR WAS STILL HALF IN THE LANE .. HORIZONTAL TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HE TURNED ON THE HAZARDS AND I JUMPED OUT, IT WAS DARK WITH NO LIGHTING ON THE ROAD AND HARD TO SEE UNTIL THE CAR BEHIND US STOPPED TO SEE IF WE WERE OK AND SAID OUR DRIVE SHAFT HAD DISCONNECTED. WE REMOVED OUR 2 YOUNG CHILDREN FROM THEIR CARSEATS, WAITED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE MEN TRIED TO MOVE THE TRUCK OUT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC BUT THE TIRES WERE LOCKED. WE CALLED 911 FOR THE POLICE TO GIVE OUR CHILDREN A SAFER PLACE TO STAY OUT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND TO PROVIDE DIRECTION TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS WE HAD A TOW TRUCK COME OUT TO BRING THE CAR TO THE NEARBY DODGE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE CAR, INFORMED US IT WAS PART OF A RECALL BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT IN STOCK. THEY DID NOT OFFER AN ALTERNATE VEHICLE TO US AND WE ARE STILL AWAITING WORD ON WHAT IS HAPPENING AT ALMOST A WEEK AFTER THIS INCIDENT TOOK PLACE. MY TIRES ON MY TRUCK ARE WEARING EXTREMELY UNEVENLY EVEN WITH CONSTANT TIRE ROTATIONS. GOOD YEAR TELLS ME IT IS AN ISSUE WITH DODGE, DODGE TELLS ME IT IS WITHIN GOODYEAR. THE TIRES ONLY HAVE 31,258 MILES ON THEM AND HAVE BEEN SHOWING EXCESSIVE WEAR. I ONLY DRIVE THE TRUCK TO & FROM WORK, DO NOT TAKE IT OFF ROADING WHICH WOULD WEAR THE TIRES EVEN MORE. I WAS INSTRUCTED BY GOODYEAR NOT TO TAKE THE TRUCK FOR LONG DRIVES IN THE RAIN OR UP TO THE SNOW WHEN IT STARTS TO SNOW HERE. AFTER DODGE LOOKED AT THEM THEY REFERRED ME TO GOODYEAR SAYING THE ONLY THING THEY CAN THINK OF IS THE TRUCK HAS ALOT OF ITS POWER ON THE RIGHT SIDE, ANOTHER EXCUSE. THIS ORDEAL TOOK 2 HOURS. WE ARRANGED FOR DEALER TO TOW THE CAR ON 9/4 - SMITH HAVEN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, SAINT JAMES, NY. THE DEALER HAS INFORMED US THAT CAN REPAIR THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE REAR LOCKING UP AND THE DRIVE SHAFT COMING LOSE, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART TO FIX THE M34 RECALL. I OPENED CASE #23907979 WITH CHRYSLER 9/5. I AM GETTING CONFLICTING INFORMATION SINCE CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE INFORMS ME THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE CBAKM343AA, CBAKM344AA, CBAKM345AA, CBAKM346AA BUT WILL "TAKE A WHILE" TO GET AND THAT THE DEALER CAN ONLY ORDER/RECIEVE ONE OF THE FOUR PARTS AT A TIME. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO ME. HOWEVER, THE SMITH HAVEN DEALER AND NHTSA RECORDS (REFERENCE # 565888) INDICATE THE PARTS TO FIX M34 ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THEREFORE, I AM GETTING CONFLICTING INFORMATION REGARDING THE ABILITY TO ADDRESS THE RECALL WHILE THE DEALER IS IN THE PROCESS OF REPAIRING THE DAMAGES AND RETURNING THE VEHICLE WITH THE RECALL ISSUE UNADDRESSED AND MY FAMILY AND I ARE FACING A REPEAT OF A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS FAILURE AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE.

AFTER HAND WASHING MY TRUCK, I NOTICES SIGNIFICANT DEFECT IN THE CHROME PARTS ON THE TRUCK. MOST OF THE CHROME IS COVERED IN CORROSION AND DISCOLORATION. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTED WHEN THE TRUCK WAS ONE YEAR OLD BUT WAS VERY MINOR. THE DEFECTS HAVE SPREAD AND BECOME A MAJOR ISSUE ON THE BUMPERS, WHEELS, STEPS, AND TRIM. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND MET WITH THE REGIONAL CHRYSLER REP WHO INFORMED ME THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THEY TOOK THE STANCE THAT THE DAMAGE WAS DUE TO SOMETHING PICKED UP ON THE ROAD. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TRUCK AND HAVE DRIVEN NOTHING BUT HIGHWAYS AND CITY STREETS. I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AT 55 MPH ALONG UNDIVIDED 2 LANE HIGHWAY. DIFFERENTIAL BEGAN TO MAKE WHINING NOISE AND THEN WITHIN 1-2 MINUTES THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCKED UP AND THE DRIVE SHAFT YOKE BROKE CAUSING THE DRIVE SHAFT TO DROP TO THE GROUND. I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 DODGE 1500 RAM PICKUP THREE WEEKS AGO. SINCE THAT TIME INTERMEDIATE THE LIGHTS FOR THE ANTILOCK BRAKES AND TRACTION CONTROL COME ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS NOT WORKING OR WORKING OFF AND ON. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I SHOULD POP THE HOOD BECAUSE THE MAIN ELECTRICAL BLOCK UNDER THE HOOD ON SOME HAVE HAD NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED PLUGS ON THE BACK AND THEY MAY VIBRATE LOOSE AND I SHOULD WIGGLE THEM AROUND AND SEE IF THAT FIXES THE PROBLEM. I WILL TAKE THE TRUCK IN FOR THEM TO TRY AND REPAIR BUT IT APPEARS TO ME THAT IF THE CONNECTOR IS LOOSE ON THESE THAT THE POWER INTERRUPTION TO THE CIRCUIT WILL MAKE THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS INOPERABLE FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME THE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED AND COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS IF THIS OCCURS AT THE WRONG TIME. I HAVE PICS AND VIDEO OF THE ISSUES. THERE IS ALSO TO GIVE A BIGGER SCOPE OF THE BLOCKS LOOSENESS NO HEATED SEAT EXCEPT DRIVER NO COOLED SEAT EXCEPT DRIVER ALL 4 POSITIONS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HEATED AND COOLED.
