The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, an abnormal clunk was heard coming from under the vehicle before the rear end of the drive shaft disconnected. No warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that he lost control and the vehicle had jumped the curb into a ditch before coming to a stop on a culvert. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained minor injuries to his neck however, no medical attention was sought. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed and parked at the contact's home address, where it remains until further investigation. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact related to the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V796000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The contact stated that on various occasions after turning off the vehicle and removing the key from the ignition, the gear shifter inadvertently shifted from the park(P) to neutral(N). No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V821000 (Power Train). The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

When the truck is loaded to approximately 75% - 100% GVWR and nose up on a moderate to steep incline upon releasing the brake and not depressing the accelerator immediately permitting the truck to roll back even slightly the engine will stall . Upon engine stall brake power assist is lost and brake pedal becomes very difficult to depress and is extremely difficult arrest the motion of the truck. This truck in question is equipped with a Cummins diesel engine & Asin automatic transmission.

5.7 Liter Hemi Lifter/Camshaft failure. Camshaft lobe has been completely ground down. Always been well maintained and taken care of also. Apparently this is a Major recurring issue with this year Ram 1500 with the 5.7L. Didn’t have any warning lights pop up on the dash either. I believe this is a safety hazard to myself and other drivers because it happens without warning and I lost 75% power of my truck on a major interstate and was almost rear ended by a semi truck hauling a heavy load. Luckily was able to swerve off onto the shoulder and save myself from a disaster.

Exhaust manifold bolts breaking and leaking due to exhaust manifold is warping under high heat. Company will not repair this problem. As it is a recurring issue known as the hemi tick. With exhaust gas leaking at the manifold causing carbon monoxide to enter cab or vehicle. Before exiting the rear of the vehicle as designed.

There was complete Cam and Lifter failure and it can be inspected. I was driving on the freeway and suddenly all power was lost and the truck started shaking. Once we got off the freeway, the truck started shaking horribly when we hit 3k RPM. We became an obstruction in the road and driving was dangerous. It is reproduced and confirmed by the dealer. It has been inspected. The check engine went on the same time the truck started shaking.

The camshaft has balded on one of the cylinders. I first said I had a check engine light with a P0303 code. I replaced the spark plugs, the ignition coils, the fuel injector, and even the PCM. None of that fixed it. I was driving on the freeway when it started flashing the check engine light and the car lost all power so the RPMs don't like to go over 3k. The check engine light still flashes like crazy every time I turn it on and even touch the gas. I checked the vacuum lines and sensors and air lines. They are all perfect. Then I checked the compression and it is less than half of what it is supposed to be on just one cylinder. I looked at the camshaft and found that it was bald and not creating compression that way. I did some research on some forums and found this is really common for this year of Ram. This made it undrivable and unsafe without power. THE DIGITAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES DOES NOT WORK SOMETIMES AND THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WITHOUT THE GAUGES ITS HARD TO SAY HOW SLOW/FAST OR WHAT THE VEHICLE IS DOING. IT WAS JUST INSPECTED. NO PRIOR SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OF THIS. I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE FIRST THIS HAS HAPPENED BUT OVER SEVERAL YEARS OF DODGE RAM TRUCKS DO THIS.

Ignition switch. There is an old recall on this switch but my trucks vin # was not included. I complained awhile back and still it was not added. 11373017. My switch needs to be recalled. I’m having the same exact problems originally reported. On more than one occasion I have almost gotten in an accident because of the keys falling out and getting jammed underneath the gas pedal.

My truck stalled on I26 in Johnson City; I was able to get to the shoulder and was able to get it started again, and it seemed to work ok. After that I started having issues with it not starting, but if I turned the key off, and tried again it would start. I searched the internet and found that the TIPM module in this model truck is the culprit for this issue and that there is a "work around that is sold on EBAY and other sites where the fuel pump relay is bypassed by using a wire and providing power to the fuel pump from the battery voltage of the ACC side of the switch. Last week I turned the truck off, and all electrical functions stopped working it was as if my battery was gone. After another internet search, this issue leads back to the TIPM module and to my surprise I found a recall 14V115 on the 2011 2012Dodge Durango and Jeep for the exact same issues that I am experiencing with my truck. As I continued to search, I found MANY repair facilities that can "fix" this problem in their shops. I believe based on what I have been told that this TIPM is the same for the RAM truck series also. Can you please let me know why DODGE RAM has not added this model to their recall; I talked to their customer recall support and the answer I got was I'm sorry sir, but your model truck isn't covered under that recall # it is the Durango and Jeep models only; and that was it. TIPM... Integrated Fuel Pump Relay, intermittent condition causes the truck to stall this is a common complaint and a significant cost to repair. Vehicle hard starts and stalls several times during inclement weather / cold starts and is an active concern while driving the vehicle. Fuel pump relay bypass is the only affordable fix as the relay is connected directly to the TIPM. No warning lights indicate any failure. Vehicle has been to dealer but due to the intermittent condition it was not repeatable at that time. This condition was investigated in 2014 but continues to be a problem. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango both had recalls on this TIPM but due to the reporting statistics within NHTSA this vehicle was not included in the recall.

The contact owns a 2011 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH at nighttime, the headlight turned off independently. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that the taillight turned off intermittently and the rear driver’s and the front passenger’s turn signal light was flashing quickly. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that several weeks later after parking the vehicle and returning a minute later to restart the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormally loud sound and the vehicle turned off. The contact exited the vehicle, opened the hood, and saw battery acid all over the hood. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact called a tow truck company and was provided a temporary battery. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with an electronic failure and the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 174,380.

Car would not start fuel pump was the root cause. The replacement of the fuel pump did not fix starting problem. The issue ended up being the fuse to the fuel pump was not getting power. The current fix is a wire jumper from the cigarette lighter fuse to fuel pump fuse.

Truck has a faulty fuel pump relay which causes the pump to run constantly or not at all. This can cause the vehicle not to start, or to not perform correctly while driving and potentially cause accidents. This is a known issue among mechanics and there are a couple of bypass methods to fix - the relay is not serviceable being located in the TIPM. No warnings are associated with this issue.

MY TRUCK STALLED ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. THE ENGINE CRANKS BUT WOULDN'T START. AFTER SELF DIAGNOSTICS, I FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL PUMP ISN'T WORKING, CHECKED FUEL BYPASS RELAY, TIPM, TO SEE IF A BYPASS RELAY WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT ALL DIRECTIONS POINTS TO FUEL PUMP. MY TRUCK HAD BEEN TOWED FROM WHERE IS STALLED TO MY APARTMENT'S PARKING LOT AND IT REMAINS THERE AS I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET A NEW FUEL PUMP INSTALLED.

OUR 2011 RAM 1500 HAS RUST UNDER THE PAINT, BUBBLING IT UP, UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK DOOR RIGHT ON/ABOVE THE ROCKER PANEL. THE ACTUAL DOOR IS NOT AFFECTED AND APPEARS TO BE RUST FREE, IT IS THE BODY OF THE TRUCK THAT IS AFFECTED. WE NOTICED THIS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS. I CALLED AN AUTO BODY REPAIR PLACE AND THE PERSONNEL TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH DOGE TRUCKS BECAUSE THE PANELS ARE NOT WELDED TOGETHER ANY LONGER, BUT ARE NOT BONDED TOGETHER WITH SOME KIND OF INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH ADHESIVE WHICH THEN CAUSES MOISTURE TO BE UNABLE TO ESCAPE, WHICH CAUSES RUST. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND FAULTY DESIGN AND TO CONTACT DODGE TO SEE IF THEY COULD ASSIST, BUT THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT DUE TO THERE BEING NO RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. A GENTLEMAN FROM THE FCA INSTRUCTED ME TO COME HERE AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THOUGH THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS LISTED, THERE IS NO RECALL BECAUSE THERE IS NO RISK OF INJURY CONSIDERED, BUT FOR ME THE RUST IS ON THE ROCKER PANEL, WHICH IS STRUCTURAL, AND IS A RISK IF IT WEAKENS. my 2011 RAM 1500 5.7L has a Faulty TIPM. Fuel Pump cuts out, causing stalling and intermittent operation, starting vehicle becomes problematic while commuting. vehicle will sometimes not start at all and will remain stuck in an ignition loop. Continues to throw random check engine codes. I have had several near miss collisions while driving due to its unsafe condition I took the vehicle in to have a diagnostic done and a licensed Chrysler dealer deduced the vehicle has a faulty TIPM, which correlates to the mass recall on the 2011 RAM 1500 models However my VIN does not show its associated with the many models of 2011 RAM 1500 when I cross referenced this.

My truck first started having trouble starting .when driving engine it would shut-off at anytime making it dangerous to steer and breakdown in traffic. There was no fault codes or warning lights on dash . After doing testing I found that the fuel pump relay was shut-off. Tipm is faulty and all Chrysler that have this style of tipm should be added to recall . I purchased a external fuel pump relay harness to repair tipm.

My truck has the same Fuse box assembly that several other dodge jeep vehicles have that the fuel pump relay shorts out while driving yet none of yalls recalls include my specific vehicle so that I can get my truck fixed under the multiple recalls yall have issued for this exact problem, dodge should be held liable for their mistakes not the consumers who are having to pay to fix the issue out of pocket simply because y'all didn't include our vehicles in the recall, my vehicle has shorted out many times almost causing us to nearly have multiple wrecks

With no warning the TIPM malfunctioned leaving my truck in a crank with no start scenario and stranded. Then my starter died trying to resolve. Starter replaced and mechanic found the TIPM fuel relay corroded and malfunctioning. Chrysler dealers tell me no new TIPM is available as far as they can search across Canada and they have no ETA when they expect availability of the part. So now I can’t even repair the truck? Every other 2011 Chrysler / Jeep / Dodge had been recalled for the EXACT same part back in 2014-2015 investigation. Why was the 2011 Ram truck excluded from this recall??? A few searches online and it’s evident the majority of 2011 ram owners have run into this issue, and lots of reporting of it. So now I have a vehicle that has 0 parts available to fix (straight from multiple Chrysler dealers parts dept) and is pretty much only good to be used as a paper weight now and I have to look at buying another vehicle because this part isn’t even available? A Recall should be issued for the TIPM is 2011 ram and/or if this part is not available, fair market value buy back from Chrysler/FCA should be mandated, and they can buy back this paperweight of a truck I am now stuck with no solution to even get it repaired with new OEM parts.

ON 11/8/2018 AT 66,239 MILES THE SAME PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A SECOND TIME. TRUCK IS DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION INTO OUTER TIE ROD ENDS FOR 2011 RAM 1500 FAILING PREMATURELY. APPEARS THERE COULD BE AN ISSUE WITH THE PARTS OR EVEN THE TRUCK'S DESIGN FOR THESE PARTS TO FAIL WITHIN 3 YEARS TIME. Problems reported to and confirmed by an independent service. The hydraulic control unit has not been inspected. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to failure. Total brake failure due to failure of "hydraulic control unit, Anti-lock brake system. A. Unit was replaced by PTL Tire & Auto in Ham Lake because of safety issue. B. Part available for inspection - unknown (PTL Tire & Auto is looking to see if they still have the part.. C. PTL can write a letter regarding the failure. 2. Total brake failure while driving up to garage door. 3. Confirmed by independent service (PTL Tire & Auto) 4. Vehicle was not inspected except for independent service. 5. IN SPEAKING WITH OTHER DODGE RAM OWNERS, THEY, TOO HAVE SEEN A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT FROM THE REDISIGNED HEADLIGHTS. CANNOT HARDLY SEE 20 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I CANNOT DRIVE THIS TRUCK AT NIGHT.

I HAD TWO ALMOST FATAL ACCIDENTS AS THE RESULT OF THE GOOD YEAR WRANGLER HP TIRES I HAD ON MY 2001 DODGE TRUCK. GOOD YEAR HAD ME SEND ON EACH EVENT THE TIRES THAT CREATED A BLOW OUT, FOR NO REASON AT ALL, THEY EVEN HAD ME COMPLETE A FULL PROPER DAMAGE CLAIM BECAUSE THEY WERE SETTLING ON THESE TIRES AND ALL THE ISSUES PEOPLE HAVE. MY CASE WAS AUTOMATICALLY DENIED, THEY TOLD ME THAT IN BOTH CASES I RAN OVER SOMETHING, BUT ADMITTED THAT THEY NEVER LOOKED AT THE TIRE, THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME. Failure to start. Engine cranks but will not start. Remote start fails. Door locks sometimes do not work, Radio failures, engine stalls unexpectedly, TPM failure, SERV 4WD warning light is displayed sporadically. This was a recall on 2011 and 2012 Chrysler vehicles except the RAM. The RAM also has the same issues as the other recalled vehicles. Why was the Ram excluded from the recall?

HIT A DEER WITH MY TRUCK. FUEL PUMP RUNS ALL THE TIME. HAD TRUCK TESTED. WAS PURL PUMP RELAY BYPASS KIT. OTHER MODELS ARE RECALLED FOR THIS SAME REASON. ALSO TRANSMISSION IS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. TESTED THAT TOO. IT'S THE LR SOLENOID IN THE COM. NONE OF THIS ISSUES WAS WRONG BEFORE HITTING THE DEER. I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED.

IN AUGUST 2017 A DEFECTIVE ROLLER BEARING WENT OUT WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, EFFECTIVELY DESTROYING THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE. COST TO REPAIR WAS $4,000. IN DECEMBER 2017 TIPM POWER MODULE MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING HEADLIGHTS TO NOT WORK. COST TO REPLACE $1,150. BOTH ITEMS HAVE THOUSANDS OF CONSUMER COMPLAINTS ABOUT BEING DEFECTIVE.

THE TIPM OUR DODGE TRUCK IS FAULTY. IT HAS ISSUES STARTING, THE LIGHTS WILL STOP WORKING, THE LIGHTS ON DASH COME ON, THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE OIL JUST DISAPPEARING, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ONLINE AND SAW THAT SEVERAL VEHICLES UNDER CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH FAULTY TIPM AND THERE WAS EVEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT,BUT THE NHTSA FELT THERE WASN'T ENOUGH OF AN ISSUE WITH THE DODGE RAMS TO PUSH FOR A RECALL. I BELIEVE THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE PUSHED FOR A RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING IN A LOT OF RAMS AND THEY ARE PASSED THE WARRANTY AND WHEN YOU PURCHASE A NEW WARRANTY THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED. ALL EXPENSES ARE PAID OUT OF POCKET. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE BEEN AWARE OF FOR YEARS. OUR DODGE RAM HAS BEEN AT THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES WITH ISSUES AND THEY DID NOT TELL US ONCE ABOUT THE TIPM ISSUES. WE HAD TO FIGURE IT OUT OURSELVES WITH INTERNET RESEARCH. SEVERAL MILLION DODGE RAM OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE REPORTED IT ACCORDING TO THE PUBLICATION OF THE NHTSA. THE TRUCK BURNS THROUGH OIL AT A HIGH RATE AND AFTER IT DOES THEIR IS NO LOW OIL LIGHT BEING TURNED ON BY THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK RAN HOT AND MADE THE CAM POSITION SENSOR FAIL. I AM AFRAID IT WILL BURN EVEN MORE AND CAUSE PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE AND SENSOR FAILURE WHICH IS NOT COVER BY WARRANTIES. THE LAST TIME IN A MONTH IT BURNED THROUGH 4 QUARTS, THE DEALER SAID IF THEY DO NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG THEY WOULD CHARGE ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAVE TO PUT THE KEY IN REPEATEDLY JUST TO GET IT TO CATCH SO IT'LL START. I HAVE 2 ON GOING ISSUES WITH MY 2011 RAM 1500 OUTDOORSMAN 5.7 4X4 WITH RAM BOX. FIRST ISSUES: SHIFTIER DOESN'T LOCK AND SLIDE OUT OF GEAR OR PARK WITH OR WITHOUT KEY IN IGNITION. WHEN IN GEAR AND RUNNING AND READY TO PARK VEHICLE IT DOESN'T SEEM TO GO IN PARK MOST TIMES WHICH THEN CAN'T BE SHUTOFF OR KEY CAN NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED 2 TIMES AND MULTIPLE VISITS TO MECHANIC TO CHECK, CHARGE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. AFTER MY MECHANIC AND MYSELF RESEARCHED THIS TO IS A MASS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND FORUMS AND EITHER A PURPOSEFUL DESIGN FLAW OR NEVERTHELESS A POOR AND UNSAFE ONE WITH THESE TRUCKS. I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING MY TRUCK, SO I JUMPED IT WITH A BOOSTER PACK AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN AND WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN IT BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALER AND THEY FOUND A FLASH FOR WCM THAT STATES FIXES INTERMITTENT START ISSUE AND REPROGRAMMED WCM. IT WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN AGAIN BEGAN HAVING ISSUES STARTING AGAIN. I READ ONLINE THAT IF I SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN TRY STARTING IT WILL WORK. MY RAM 1500 INEXPLICABLY CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED TO THE GROUND AFTER SITTING OUTSIDE FOR APPROXIMATELY 12 HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS LOCKED, AS WERE THE BED COVER, THE TAILGATE, AND THE RAM BOXES. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE BED OR RAMBOXES. WE WERE ALERTED TO THE FIRE AT AROUND 6 AM BY 1) AN EXPLOSION AND 2) NEIGHBOR ALERT. WHEN WE WENT OUTSIDE THE TRUCK'S BED WAS ENGULFED IN FIRE, AND THE FIRE LOOKED TO BE FROM UNDERNEATH AND COMING UP AROUND THE BED. THE EXPLOSION WAS EITHER THE SPARE TIRE OR THE GAS TANK. WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE ENTIRE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED, AND COMPLETELY BURNED/MELTED, ETC., WITHIN 25 OR SO MINUTES WHEN THE FIRE DEPT. FINALLY ARRIVED TO PUT IT OUT. THE FIRE MARSHAL DECLARED THAT THE CAUSE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED, AS DID THE INSURANCE COMPANY'S LAB AFTER THEY EXAMINED THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. WE LIVE IN A GATED, VIDEO MONITORED SMALL COMMUNITY AND REVIEW OF THE TAPES SHOWED NO STRANGE ACTIVITY. THERE IS NO HISTORY OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY IN THIS AREA, AND CERTAINLY NO ARSON. THE GROUND SURROUNDING THE TRUCK WAS WET (IT WAS PARKED ON A CONCRETE PARKING SPACE) AS THE SPRINKLERS HAD RECENTLY RUN (GRASS, SHRUBS). The contact owns a 2011 Ram 1500. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 18V160000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 17V821000 (Power Train). The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the fuel tank detached from the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated an abnormal sound was coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact pulled to the side of the road and noticed the fuel tank was being dragged by the wires. A driver pulled over and assisted the contact by strapping the fuel tank back in place. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was determined that the front fuel tank strap frame T-Slot bracket was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but refused to perform the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

WE WERE TRAVELING HOME JULY 18TH ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING AND HE TRIED TO GET OFF THE INTERSTATE ON AN EXIT. THE STEARING MESSED UP AND HE LIKE TO HAVE NOT GOT IT STOPPED BEFORE WE WERE RUNNING OUT OF RAMP. IT' WAS LIGHT NOT HAVING CONTROL OF THE WHEEL OR BRAKES. WHEN WE GOT STOPPED HE OPENED THE HOOD TO SEE IF HE COULD SEE A PROBLEM THERE. HE ALSO WALKED AROUNG THE ENTIRE TRUCK CHECKING TIRES. WE FINALLY DECIDED TO TRY IT AGAIN. I WAS JUST INFORMED BY MY REPAIR SHOP THAT MY TRUCK REQUIRES A NEW TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THIS PART COSTS $1300. IT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REGULATING POWER TO MANY ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THE TRUCK INCLUDING THE FUEL PUMP. ACCORDING TO MANY ONLINE SOURCES CHRYSLER VEHICLES FROM CERTAIN YEARS, ESPECIALLY 2011, ARE KNOWN TO HAVE FAULTY TIPMS AND THAT THE PROBLEM CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS RANGING FROM ANNOYANCES TO LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENTS. MY SPECIFIC PROBLEM OCCURS BOTH WHEN I AM ATTEMPTING TO START IT AND WHEN I AM DRIVING IT. I AM UNABLE TO PURCHASE THE NECESSARY REPAIR DUE TO THE EXTREME COST OF THE PART. I HAVE ALSO RECENTLY REPLACED MY FUEL TANK, BECAUSE I WOULD HEAR THE FUEL TANK STILL WORKING WHEN MY ENGINE WAS OFF. IN ADDITION, THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

THERE WERE NO SPECIAL EVENTS BEFORE PROBLEM SHOWED UP, OTHER THAN THE ENGINE MUST ATTAIN NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN TRAVELING , UPHILL-DOWNHILL- OR ON LEVEL, IF YOU ARE ABOVE 45MPH AND YOU STOP APPLYING GAS PEDAL TO COAST. THE VEHICLE WILL COAST UNTIL YOU REACH APPROXIMATELY 40MPH AT WHICH TIME THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR. THIS CAUSES AN ABRUPT SLOWING WITHOUT ALERTING VEHICLE BEHIND YOU. THIS COULD IN EFFECT CAUSE A REAR COLLISION BECAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ACTIVATED, AND THE GEARING IS LOW IN REAR AXLE WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SLOW AT A FASTER RATE THAN NORMAL. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THERE ALL THE TIME, ONE TIME IT DID NOT APPEAR WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE AS IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAVE CONTACTED LOCAL DEALER, FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, 3 TIMES. FIRST TIME THEY HOOKED COMPUTER TO VEHICLE AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. SECOND TIME HOOKED COMPUTER TO VEHICLE DROVE IT AND TOOK MORE READINGS. THIRD TIME THEY WERE TO TAKE MORE READINGS AND TRANSMIT TO CHRYSLER, ALSO AT THAT TIME THEY WERE TO WORK ON TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM NOT FIXED, WHEN I RETURNED HOME THAT EVENING I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM DEALER STATING THAT CHRYSLER WAS TO GIVE THEM A COMPUTER FLASH OR PROGRAM THAT MAY FIX THE PROBLEM, AND IT COULD TAKE 3 TO 6 MONTHS TO OBTAIN. DURING THE SECOND VISIT I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER HAD AT LEAST 3 OTHER VEHICLES WITH SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE IS AND THEREFORE THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED IN WRITING BY DEALER OR CHRYSLER CORP. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED THAT I AM AWARE OF. I ALSO DROVE ANOTHER TRUCK SAME EQUIPMENT IT DID NOT EXHIBIT THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF THIS IS A PLOY TO SKIRT THE LEMON LAW OR NOT. I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE, MOVING VERY SLOW (BECAUSE OF OUR OUTSIDE CATS) WITH VERY SLIGHT PRESSURE ON ACCELERATOR, JUST ENOUGH TO START TO MOVE THE TRUCK BACKWARDS DOWN THE INCLINE OUT OF MY GARAGE. IMMEDIATELY, THE ENGINE REVVED AND STARTED RACING. THE TRUCK PICKED UP SPEED DRAMATICALLY AND I SLAMMED MY RIGHT FOOT DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, NOT SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE BRAKES HOWLED AND VIBRATED, TOTALLY FAILING TO STOP THE TRUCK. I LIFTED MY FOOT AND THEN REAPPLIED BOTH FEET TO THE BRAKE WITHOUT THINKING. BRAKE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND TRUCK SLOWED VERY LITTLE, ENGINE STILL REVVING. I THEN PULLED THE HANDLE TO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND APPLIED IT TO STOP THE TRUCK. THE ENGINE WAS STILL SPEEDING UP AND I PUT IT IN PARK, IMMEDIATELY TURNING THE KEY TO KILL THE TRUCK. I DIDN'T THINK TO LOOK AT THE RPMS, BUT THEY HAD TO BE HIGH. THE FAILURE HOWEVER, PERSISTED ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. Driving my vehicle throughout December of 2024 and the vehicle would die and power back up, vehicle would run intermittently and fail to continue operating while driving to and from work. Vehicle intermittently stalling during driving would cause "Near Miss" accidents on the road. Potentially endangering myself as the operator and other operators on the road due to a "no start" issue and unsafe operating condition in the electrical system of the vehicle. I thought it was a bad battery so I replaced it with a brand new battery from the auto parts store While I struggled to have this matter resolved before leaving for Army Active Duty. I arranged to have the vehicle turned into a Chrysler, Dodge, Ram dealer to have a diagnostic done on the vehicle. on June 6th according to their technicians report, it shows my TIPM is bad. and needed to be replaced. The dealer failed to acknowledge this was a recall issue and would not cover the repair cost since the vehicle was out of warranty due to mileage and age. when their our hundreds of models being turned in for the same issue nationwide.

The vehicle's fuel pump continues to run even when the vehicle is turned off causing the overheating of electrical wiring and draining the battery, it's a serious issue and a fire hazard that will set the fuel tank on fire, I filed a complaint back in June and no action has been taken.

The contact owns a 2011 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical failures. The contact stated that while approaching the vehicle with the key fob, the doors would unlock independently, and the windows would roll down independently. The contact also stated that the front driver's side window had failed to roll down while using the power window switch. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated that he had noticed moisture in the storage compartments underneath the rear passenger's side and rear driver's side seats. The contact stated that he also noticed that the rear driver's side floorboard was wet. The contact stated that upon retrieving items from the storage compartment underneath the rear passenger's side seat, he noticed that there was approximately 1-inch of water in the storage compartment and there was mold behind the rear passenger's side seat. The contact stated that he vacuumed out the water out with a hose, and then used a towel. Additionally, the contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle after it had rained the following day, he noticed that there was water in the storage compartments underneath the rear driver's side and passenger's side seats. The contact also noticed that the floorboard on the rear driver's side and passenger's side was significantly wet, and there was a water mark on the ceiling. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

This issue has been experienced more than 5 times and only occurs while turning. While making both left and right hand turns, the steering wheel locks mid turn and the engine completely shuts off resulting in the inability to turn in any direction. The first time this happened, I almost went into a ditch and today as I turned to cross an intersection, I lost all steering control and the truck shut down mid turn in the middle of the intersection. This left the truck immobilized in the intersection and facing into oncoming traffic. Following each incident, I put the truck in park and restart it as if there was no issue. There are no warning lights that appear prior to any of the incidents that would indicate an issue and the instrument panel goes dark each time the issue occurs. This is going to get me and/or my family killed one of these days. I have researched this online and there are countless reports from other 2011 Ram owners experiencing the same exact issue. How has a safety recall not been issued for this?

WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS MY TRUCK COMPLETLY SHUT OFF, I LOST POWER TO EVERYTHING, INCLUDING POWER STEERING. I HAD PREVIOUS HAD MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEMS WITH MY FUEL PUMP STAYING ON AND LEARNED IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) WHICH CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF AND HAS RECALLS FOR SOME VEHICLES IN CERTIN STATES. THE SYMTOMS MY TRUCK IS HAVING IS THE SAME LISTED IN MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS, IE. VEHICLES RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF, FUEL PUMP STAYING ON AND DRAINING THE BATTERIES, AIR BAGS RANDOMLY DEPLOYING. AFTER RESEARCHING MULTIPLE FOURMS AND WEBSITE I FOUND ITS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONG CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED DUE TO FAULTY PARTS AND EQUIPMENT.

My car had suddenly and without any warning broken down in the middle of the street, putting me and 2 other passengers at extremely high risk considering we were in a busy highway, which left us stuck in the car until we managed to run for safety to the side of the road. My Vehicle is a Doge Ram 2011 5.7 Liter V8 with 80K mileage. VIN# [XXX] The crash was caused by the Driveshaft completely separating and dragging on the asphalt, while the rear axle seized and resulted in a loss of power, and the rear differential to leak all the fluid. At first, I sent the car via a tow truck to an independent service center, which has been providing all the needed maintenance to my car for the past 5 years. In the process of trying to fix the vehicle and inspecting the issues which apparently turned out to be really expensive to fix ( Rear Differential $1400 used ). We discovered that there's a recall conducted on the vehicle from the manufacturer, that I didn't have any prior knowledge to related to this malfunction. Then I immediately took the vehicle to the nearby dealership, who acknowledged the recall at first only, but before conducting the repair they changed their minds and stated that I should've brought the car and fixed the undersized pinion shaft splines only and avoided the whole crash! Obviously I would've done that if I knew. To conclude: The vehicle crashed due to a safety issue that shouldn't be blamed on the customer. and the dealership (Advanced Automotive Trading Co) is refusing to address the exact detailed issue which they addressed in the recall description. and wouldn't take responsibility. PS: I'm an American living in Jordan, and I couldn't find anyone to really report my problem to here, that's why I'm submitting a complaint to NHTSA. In march/ 2020 my truck shut off 3xs going down the hwy with me and my kids in it . all without any warning. Upon the third event it caused my truck to began losing power to my headlights and tail lights and no hazards as well ? Which i thought was a very concerning matter especially at night... Very dangerous and it could have had one of us hurt or even killed . i payed 150 for a wrecker and hauled it to a mechanic that night . over the course of the next few days they checked it and no signs of the same thing recurring while at the shop . payed another 75 dollars amd drove truck for another couple months and then the same thing happening again . yet this time i was lucky enough to be just pulling out of my driveway . took to mechanic again paying a friend 75 to carry by tow dolly . only to be told nothing was wrong . its like my truck is possessed . later on the truck ended up shorting my fuel pump and my tipm costing me alot of money 1400 to replace the tipm. And 535 to replace the fuel pump . then 1 yr later again the security light on dash came on and bam it burnt my fuel pump up again , thus causing me to fork out another 535 plus a by pass relay harmess for 135. Luckily i have had no more issues out of the fuel pump . knock on wood ... But the truck still shoots the security light on and causes all my lights to stop working and puts me in harms way whenever the truck feels like acting up . this is ridiculous and dangerous bc might i add me and my family were in the vehicle in almost every instance that occured. And thats not safe . i thought highly of dodge but now im starting to wonder if its even safe to have me and my family. In this truck again . luckily the last two time the incident occured i was leaving my house so i was able to have help getting it back in my drive way when it unlocked from its lock down mode. But there has 5o be some type of issue that can be resolved after the amount of money payed for the repairs and the cost of truck as well

COME TO FIND OUT IT IS A DEFECTIVE TIPM MODULE THAT IS NOW ON RECALL FOR SEVERAL OTHER MODELS OF DODGE VEHICLES. MY TIPM IS THE SAME ONES ON RECALL EXCEPT NOT ON THE RAM 1500. IT HAS COST ME $1,300.00. NOT THEY WANT $1,200.00 MORE. ADD ME TO ANY COMPLAINT AND RECALL REPAIRS YOU MAY HAVE.

THE WELDMENT ON THE FRAME THAT THE FUEL TANK STRAP ATTACHES TO FAILED. THE STRAP WAS INTACT. IT DID CONTACT THE DRIVE SHAFT MAKING SPARKS. THE FUEL TANK ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE TRUCK. IF IT HAD BEEN FULL THE ADDITIONAL WEIGHT COULD HAVE PERMITTED IT TO CONTACT THE HIGHWAY ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK OUT. WITH THE SPARKS FROM THE STRAP, THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A GOOD OUTCOME. I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER WITHOUT A RESOLUTION. I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A NEW WELDMENT. I HAVE THE ABILITY TO REMOVE AND WELD THE NEW ONE ON. THE FUEL TANK IS BEING HELD BY RATCHET STRAPS. I REMEMBER FUEL TANK PROBLEMS WITH PINTO'S AND CHEVY TRUCKS. IN THIS CASE WITHOUT WARNING THE TANK CAN FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND START A FIRE, WITHOUT IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER STOPPING, I PUT IT IN PARK, THE KEY WAS STILL IN ON POSITION; TURNED KEY AND ENGINE STARTED. I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR 45 DAYS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE AT TOTALLY RANDOM TIMES. I AM VERY FORTUNATE I WAS ON A ROAD WITHOUT MUCH TRAFFIC. HAD I BEEN IN A STEERING, PASSING OR OTHER SITUATION, I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT I LEARNED FROM INTERNET THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT COMPLAINT OF RAM OWNERS AND OTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT VEHICLE OWNERS, AND THAT A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR CERTAIN CHRYSLER VEHICLES ALREADY. THE FAULTY PART WAS THE TIPM MODULE. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN PROCESS INVOLVING OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES NOT YET RECALLED, INCLUDING THE MODEL I OWN. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I CALLED RAM CUSTOMER CARE AND EXPLAINED THAT THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND THAT I CANNOT ACCEPT A SOFTWARE UPDATE IN THE HOPE IT FIXES IT GIVEN THE TIPM HISTORY OF THESE VEHICLES. THEY ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC "CODES" PRESENT, SO THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIPM. THEY THEN ADMITTED THAT A FAULTY TIPM WOULD NOT PRODUCE ANY CODES, BUT AGAIN SAID THEY NEEDED TO RULE OUT A SOFTWARE ISSUE FIRST BY TRIAL AND ERROR AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIPM EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE IF IT WAS FAULTY. MY SON IS DRIVING THIS TRUCK TO COLLEGE, AND I AM NOT ABOUT TO RISK HIM BEING KILLED IN THIS VEHICLE SO I WAS FORCED TO PAY $1,350 FOR A NEW TIPM. RAM NEEDS TO RECALL THESE IMMEDIATELY.

I am an older person so had a very hard time stopping the vehicle and attempting to steer it to the side of the road. Traffic backed up behind me before I could put on my warning blinkers.Eventually, I turned off and on the pickup and everything worked somewhat normally but the vehicle went into limp mode. I got home, had the vehicle towed to the dealership. I explained issue, requested a total diagnosis of everything that was wrong but most importantly, I wanted the total power loss issue diagnosed, pinpointed and resolved. because I don't feel safe driving until issue is truly diagnosed and fixed. I gave them my lifetimecarmaxplus warranty . The techs found a list of parts that needed to be fixed besides the power loss problem, but told me they couldn't fix the total power loss because no codes had been thrown. I explained that since there was a total power loss it was reported by other Dodge techs that no codes could be retrieved. I asked the service manager to ask his tech what diagnostics were used and to what extent to determine the problem. He said he would call me after talking to his tech but never did. I went to the dealership 2 weeks later and asked what he found out from his tech. He was confused and apparently never did anything more about the situation. I called Chrysler warranty, they gave me a case number but again seemed oblivious to the total power loss and fixing this major safety issue. No one has attempted to address the problem or offered to have another mechanic inspect the vehicle. There were no codes that I saw on the dash and I did try to immediately retrieve any but none came up. The front passenger window locks also had been working intermittently 2 mos prior. My husband reported vehicle going in limp mode briefly 2 days prior to ...all electrical issues

The gas tank fell onto the road while driving to pick up my daughter from the bus. I immediately pulled over due to the sound. I then saw the front of the gas tank on the ground , half a mile down the road I was traveling there are alot of pit holes and that could of ended in a fire or worse with my tank dragging the ground. I have taken it to the dealership that would help repair the recall but they have yet to repair or give me information about what the manufacturer has said on what to do. They told me it is to rusty underneath to repair and contacted manufacturer. I am without a vehicle its been almost 2 weeks and I have a 6 year old child and my own health issues that inquire dr appointments. I have no money for a rental and no family or friends who can help with rides. I am unsure of what to do next I just know this is extremely frustrating considering I had purchased this vehicle only a few months ago.

Yesterday, the Front Right Wheel completely separated from the axel while driving 25 mph. The truck veered sharply to the right, crashing into the driver's side of a fortunately unoccupied parked car, and continued to the right into the curb. I was not seriously injured, though my neck was strained. The tire and rim were destroyed, and it appears that the metal attachment from the wheel to the car was completely sheared through. There was also extensive Front End damage. Had I made it another mile to the parkway, this would have been a fatal injury to me, as well as other drivers. The truck was just inspected 2 days prior to this occurrence by a Certified Dodge Ram Dealer (NY Facility #[XXX]) with a clean health record. It is currently at the North Star Auto Body (516-781-2200) awaiting inspection by the Allstate Insurance adjuster (Claim # [XXX]). A police report was also filed. The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V635000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Fuel System, Diesel). The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the recall was serviced. Recently, the contact stated that he noticed a fuel leak coming from the fuel heater. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that a plug on the connector had melted due to a defective O-ring. The mechanic linked the failure to the recall. The dealer was contacted by both the mechanic and the contact and both were informed that the recall was a one-time free repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 183,000.

IN THE SPAN OF 2 MONTHS, I HAVE HAD THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY "LOCK" UP WHILE IN DRIVE ON NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS (SUNNY AND CLEAR, NOT TOO BRIGHT, NOT TOO WINDY OR WET AT ALL, NO FOG) WHEN PERFORMING A RIGHT TURN AT APPROPRIATE TURN SPEEDS. YOU WOULD BE UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE OUT OF HARM'S WAY WHEN THE WHEEL TENSES AND LOCKS UP COMPLETELY LIKE THIS. MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THIS ISSUE WAS TURNING ON A RIGHT LANE WITH YOUR OWN PROTECTED LANE AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT FOR THE TURN. IT COMPLETELY LOCKED UP ON ME AND I EASED MY FOOT FORCIBLY ONTO THE BRAKE SO THAT I COULD AVOID BRAKING TOO HARD AND CAUSING THE TIRES TO SPIN OUT OR WORSE, HITTING THE POLE THAT IS DIRECTLY 200 FEET AWAY (APPROXIMATE SPEED WAS 35MPN AND BRAKE REACTION TIME WAS 2 SECONDS, ACCOUNTING FOR INITIAL NOTICE OF THE SUDDEN TENSION AND LOSS OF COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK'S STEERING.). NOT ONLY IS IT AFFECTING MY FUEL SYSTEM BUT ALSO THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL AT RANDOM GO UP A FEW INCHES WHEN UNLOCKING THE TRUCK OR OPENING THE DOOR. THE FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE IS WHEN I GO TO START IT WILL JUST CRANK CONSTANTLY AND NOT START TO NOW I MIGHT GET IT STARTED AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS BUT THEN IT JUST STALLS AFTER A SECOND OF RUNNING. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE FROM JUST MAKING A TURN AND ACCELERATING TO THE ROAD WAY SPEED OF 30 MPH, THE STAINLESS STEEL STRAP THAT SECURES THE FUEL TANK TO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE SUFFERED A FAILURE. THIS FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY CORROSION OF THE FRAME CHASSIS AND THE STRAP SEPARATING. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE 32 GALLON FUEL TANK TO LOWER TOWARD THE ROAD WAY AND THE REMAINING STRAP TO DRAG ALONG THE STREET PAVEMENT . THIS FAILURE CREATED A RISK OF FIRE/ AND SPARKS FROM THE DRAGGING METAL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER RESET THE SYSTEM, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

TAKATA RECALL THE TIPM WENT BAD IN MY TRUCK AT 85,000 MILES. TRUCK WILL NOT START AT TIMES, IT WILL LOCK ME OUT OF MY OWN VEHICLE (THANK GOD MY KIDS WERE NEVER LOCKED IN). THE FUEL PUMP RUNS CONSTANTLY EVEN WHEN THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF BECAUSE THE TIPM DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO TURN OFF. IT AFFECTS ALL OF MY ELECTRICAL STUFF, INCLUDING RADIO, POWER LOCKS AND POWER WINDOWS. MY WINDOWS WILL ROLE DOWN OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, AND THE WINDOWS WILL NOT ROLE BACK UP. THE BACKUP CAMERA WILL COME ON WHILE I AM DRIVING FORWARD, MY RADIO WILL FREEZE UP TO WHERE I CAN NO DO ANYTHING TO IT. MY KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WILL NOT COME OUT! THE WHOLE ENTIRE TRUCK JUST LOCKS UP. WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING, AND IT DECIDES TO SHUT OFF OUT OF NOWHERE, I LOSE ALL POWER!!! NO BRAKES OR STEERING!!! ITS UNCONTROLLABLE!! THERE HAS BEEN MANY MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM IN THE 2011 RAM 1500 INCLUDING PEOPLE ALMOST GETTING INTO ACCIDENTS. AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER UNDER DASH WENT OUT AT ABOUT 85,000 MILES. AT 105,000 MILES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO 3 DIFFERENT SHOPS AND ALL 3 FOUND NUMBER 5 CYLINDER OF MY 5.7 CYLINDER ENGINE WAS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. AFTER DEEPER INVESTIGATION IT TURNED OUT TO BE A WORN CAMSHAFT LOBE. ALL OIL CHANGES WERE DONE AT PROPER INTERVALS AND USED SYNTHETIC OILS. MECHANIC SAID IT WAS COMMON WITH THE 5.7 ENGINE.

FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AREA. LOTS OF PLAY IN THE STEERING AND A CLUNK WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND IF IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL. THEY SAID THE STERING GEAR AND INNER TIE RODS ARE BAD AND THE FRONT HUBS ARE MAKING NOISE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 70,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT OFF ROAD OR DROVE IT HARD. IT IS USED FOR DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK. JUST FOR THE COST OF THOSE ITEMS THEY QUOTED ME $2312.99. I HAVE OWNED THREE DIFFERENT TRUCKS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS AND WITH SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED LAST NOVEMBER. THE FACTORY WINDSHIELD IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THROUGH AT NIGHT, AND IF WE'RE DRIVING IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT, WHAT LITTLE VISIBILITY THERE IS. IS LIMITED TO LESS THAN 50 FEET. THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN COOS BAY, OREGON SAYS THAT IT'S A FACTORY-INSTALLED WINDSHIELD AND DECLINES TO TAKE ANY FURTHER RESPONSIBILITY. THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT REQUIRES OUR USING THE HIGH BEAMS (WHEN SAFE FOR ONCOMING DRIVERS -- NOT A GOOD MIX.) THE SECOND TIME I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO DIFFERENT TIRE TREAD DEPTHS. THE TIRES WERE BRAND NEW, INSTALLED BY THE DEALERSHIP. NOW STILL THE TRUCK FEELS VERY UNSTABLE ON THE ROAD, CONSTANTLY WEAVING LEFT TO RIGHT. WHEN HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD IT FEELS AS IF THE FRONT END IS COMING APART. I HAVE HAD 2 BLOW OUTS (INSTANTANEOUS TIRE DEFLATIONS) IN THE LAST 30 DAYS. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER AND CONFIRMED ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A WELL KNOWN DEFECT ON THIS VEHICLE CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS/VALVE STEMS (TPMS) CORRODING CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHERE THE VALVE STEM IS LOST AND THE TIRE DEFLATES. BOTH OCCURRENCES WERE WHEN I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED ON A FREEWAY. LUCKILY THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC AND I WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL AND PULL ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. ON INSPECTION OF THE TIRE THE VALVE STEM WAS MISSING WITH A HOLE INTO THE TIRE. UNFORTUNATELY DESPITE THE DEALER BEING AWARE OF THE PROBLEM IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AND COSTS $140 TO REPAIR. AS ABOVE, THIS IS THE 2ND EXACT FAILURE ON THE SAME VEHICLE. IT APPEARS I AM EXPECTED TO PAY OVER $500 TO GET THEM ALL CHANGED. BEGAN WHEN I PURCHASED TRUCK OF INTEGRATED BRAKE FAILURE LATER TURNED INTO BAD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, VISOR SHORT, NEW BRAKE CONTROLLER AND LOTS OF HOURS. WHEN STARTING VEHICLE WIPERS COME ON, NO INTERIOR LIGHTS, NO TURN SIGNALS (INSIDE OR OUTSIDE) NO HEAT, NO RADIO NO TRAILER BRAKES. NOW VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DODGE FOR 2 WEEKS. THEY REPLACED, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, WIRING HARNESS, TPMS AND PROBLEM REMAINS. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS NO INDICATORS AND WIPERS CONSTANTLY ON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD READ THAT THE KEY WAS DAMAGED WHEN THE DOOR WAS AJAR. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE UNTIL A MINIMUM OF 35 MINUTES OF CLOSING THE DOOR. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE CONTACT HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE MAIN COMPUTER MODULE WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43, 000....UPDATED 11-12-13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT CRANK, AND WHEN THE VEHICLE DID START, IT WOULD NOT CUT OFF. THE CONSUMER HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER.

I INSPECTED WHEELS AND RELATED PARTS COULD FIND NO ISSUES. I CARRY A WHEELCHAIR WITH ME AS I HAVE BROKEN MY NECK IN 8 PLACES WITH NERVE DAMAGE AND CAN NOT BE OPERATED ON, I CAN WALK FOR VERY SHORT DISTANCES ONLY. IF I HAD BEEN IN TRAFFIC I COULD HAVE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND DUE TO MY PHYSICAL CONDITION COULD HAVE BEEN PARALYZED OR WORST. MY TRUCK COST $57,000 AND I HAVE ONLY MADE 5 PAYMENTS. I PURCHASED THIS UNIT BECAUSE IT RODE GOOD FOR MY CONDITION,PLUS COULD CARRY MY WHEELCHAIR. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I SPENT MONEY ON NEW BECAUSE I NEEDED DEPENDABILITY AS I CAN NOT WALK IF IT BREAKS. I HAD A CAR WRECK IN A 4 MONTH OLD 2011 RAM 1500 4 WD QUAD CAB ON OCT 3 RD 2011, I WAS PUSHED INTO A METAL GUARD RAIL AND CONCRETE WALL AT 70 MPH, THE FROMT PASSENGER WHEEL BROKE COMPLTEY OFF AND BOTH FRONT SIDE WERE IMPACTED HARD ENOUGH TO BED THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES, NO BRAKES BEFORE OR AFTER IMPACT, I DID HABE MY SEAT BELT ON, NONE OF THE FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AT ANY TIME. THE CAR THAT HIT ME HAD SULL AIR BAG DEPLYMENT. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY PULLING OUR GOOSENECK TRAILER I HIT A BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY. ONCE I HIT THE BUMP THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS RIPPED FROM MY HANDS. I COULD NOT HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL. DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL ONLY MADE THE TRUCK JERK TO ONE SIDE VERY QUICKLY. ALL I COULD DO WAS DOWN SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION AND USE THE TRAILER BRAKES LIGHTLY TO SLOW DOWN. I HAD NO STEERING CONTROL AT ALL. WHILE SLOWING DOWN I RAN 3 CARS OFF THE ROAD ON TO THE SHOULDER DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER THE TRUCK AT ALL. I COULD HAVE EASILY KILLED MYSELF AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE HIGHWAY AT THAT TIME. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT STANLEY-LYND AUTOPLEX IN CAMERON TEXAS UNDERGOING "REPAIRS". THE SERVICE MANAGER, MECHANIC AND THE DEALERSHIP OWNER ALL STATED AND AGREED THAT THERE IS NO KNOWN CAUSE AND NO KNOWN REPAIR TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS LIFE AND SAFETY HAZARD. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO DO THIS "DEATH WOBBLE" AS IT WAS NAMED AT THE DEALERSHIP AT ANYTIME THE TRUCK ENCOUNTERED A BUMP, EXPANSION JOINT OR UN EVEN PAVEMENT.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE ACCELERATING ON AN ICY ROAD THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ENGAGED AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALSO BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER HE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGED. THE BRAKE PEDAL BEGAN TO PULSATE VIOLENTLY BEFORE DEPRESSING TO THE FLOOR. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,700.
