The electronic power steering system failed Without warning. The truck became very difficult to steer and put my family in danger. I took the truck to a garage and the mechanic confirmed that it was the electronic power steering. There were absolutely no warnings at all before it failed.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, the power steering assist failed to operate as needed without warning. Due to the failure, the contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure occurred while starting the vehicle after the vehicle had not been driven for more than a day. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective steering column shaft. The contact stated that the steering column shaft would be sprayed with lubricant, which would temporarily correct the failure; however, the failure returned after consistent driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was provided an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

VIN [XXX] Recall “66A Loss of Crankshaft position”. Why is this recall only a software update and does not fix the issue causing the recall? The faulty part is the Tone Wheel and the delamination of the magnetic material on the wheel. The software update just allows the car to drive faster, (40mph) to get it to the dealer for the $2k plus repair. Daimler Chrysler or Fiat, who makes the EcoDiesel engine should be required to pay for this repair. The safety issue is still present. Driving 40mph at 4200rpm on the freeway is a safety concern. The EGR valve and EGR cooler went out and it caused the MAP sensor to melt and also caused the intake manifold to melt and if I didn’t shut the truck off it was going to catch on fire. And this truck has had this problem in the past due to a recall and it was repaired and it happened again on may 4th 2025

The diesel EGR Cooling System prematurely failed on a vehicle with low mileage and repaired at owner's expense. This defect allows pre-heated, vaporized coolant into the EGR system while the engine is running. In certain circumstances, this mixture interacts with other hydrocarbons and air in the system, potentially resulting in combustion within the intake manifold, which may lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire may increase the risk of injury to occupants and persons outside of the vehicle, as well as property damage. Other than noting black residue in the coolant reservoir, there is no warning or notification to the owner that this dangerous condition had occurred, and that their safety may be at risk if not monitored. Previous model years had this same defect and are covered by Safety Recall VB1 / NHTSA 19V-757 Diesel EGR Cooler.

My fuel tank support strap failed. Just rust I presume I have the larger fuel tank as well. Filled it then shortly after heard a scraping sound.

Fuel sensor issues. 100's of complaints on Fuel Sensors and many reported to NHTSA. The gas gauge will not work and check engine light on, when checking code it is P0463,that is fuel sensor issue. It is dangerous not to know how much fuel is in tank. Again very common issue on Rams with 40K miles and less. Ram know about all these cases. It is a common problem that is ignored by Ram.

There is an extended warranty on the defective gas tank strap bracket, “X75”. When this part broke it caused damage to my driveshaft and to my fuel tank. The dealer says only the strap bracket is covered. This should be a recall, not an extended warranty. Damaged fuel tanks are a safety concern, and all damage caused by the failed bracket should be covered.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the contact became aware that the transmission was shuddering. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while attempting to drive the vehicle to the shoulder of the road, the contact noticed a large piece of detached metal flying, which was part of the drive shaft. The contact stated that the transmission was severely shuddering. The contact proceeded to drive the vehicle to the shoulder of the road and saw another large piece of metal flying, which was another part of the drive shaft that had detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that the rear wheels locked up, and the shuddering was persistent. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The contact and the passenger, who was seated in the front passenger's seat, exited the vehicle. The passenger noticed smoke coming from the vehicle ,but there was no fire. AAA was contacted, and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic test was performed. The contact was informed that the rear differential, rear axle, transfer case, and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V198000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the manufacturer to report the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was informed that an inspector would be inspecting the vehicle, however the contact stated that the inspection was not performed. The failure mileage was approximately 53,300.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after making an abrupt stop, several abnormal popping sounds began to emit from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle then failed to accelerate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. Due to the failure, the vehicle was initially towed to the residence and then towed to a dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the rear axle needed to be replaced. The contact disagreed with the diagnostic and had the vehicle towed back home. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V198000 (Power Train) which the contact linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.

My RAM 1500 Pickup has a NHTSA recall 23V-411 that I never received that is a loss of crank shaft signal and causes engine to stall and loss of power. This happened to my vehicle while I was in the passing lane overtaking another car. It was a very dangerous situation as I had to try and navigate to the shoulder as other cars were now passing me on the right. When I did manage to get to the shoulder of a narrow two lane hi-way, my vehicle would not start. I had to call for a tow truck and wait in a very dangerous location for the tow truck to come for over an hour. I was never notified by RAM of this recall and they are also not covering the cost of the part that was involved with the recall as well. This is a very serious situation as there has already been a class action lawsuit against RAM that was successful for this same part and there are still a lot of cars out there that have not been repaired. I am going to have to pay $2500 out of pocket to fix a problem that RAM has known about for a long time and has a recall (FCA Recall 66A and 73A) for.

There is a current recall for ram 1500s with faults in their Abs systems, which causes their ECS system to disable itself. My 2017 vehicle has been experiencing this issue since purchase in 2019. I have tried to get ram dealerships to diagnose this issue several times, but each time they say that they cannot recreate the fault. My goal in filling this report is to get my vehicle added to this recall.

Engine light came on with code. Was for 3 way coolant heater valve. Purchased part and replaced a few weeks ago. Engine light is back on . I see online chrysler had a recall for the same issue on the 2017 Dodge ram. I called NTSB to check on recall they said could be internal recall at chrysler. I tried to call Chrysler and I am put on hold. I would like Chrysler to authorize this to be fixed further at a local Chrysler/Dodge dealer in my area. Attached is the prior recall for the same issue that I am having now. There obviously is an issue that company is aware of and had a recall. Now it is happening to newer models an there should be a recall to be fixed free of charge. NTSB shows NO safety recall for this. There are MANY reports in forums on the internet of this exact problem. It is code P2681. "A 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 may have been subject to a recall regarding the "3-way coolant heater control valve" due to a potential issue with the valve's internal circuit board, which could cause it to stick in a position that prevents proper coolant flow to the heater core, impacting windshield defrosting capabilities; this recall is identified as NHTSA Campaign Number 13V-177."

Front gas tank strap pulled through frame while driving down highway, after checking the spot in the frame was severely corroded/rusted. Gas tank was hanging off bottom of truck, with strap hitting against driveshaft. Vehicle was purchased about 3 months ago from dealership with no notation of this issue. No warnings or signs prior to event happening.

I have water leaking out of both front grip airbags. My warranty started in 2019 as I bought the vehicle new from the dealer. They said this is not covered under the warranty. It is a safety issue and I believe it should be covered.

WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ON WET ROADS RAINED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WAS RAINING THAT MORNING, I ROUNDED THE LAST CURVED ON A 30 MPH ROAD AND I WAS ONLY DOING BETWEEN 25 TO 28 I STARTED SLIDING AND TURNED MY WHEEL LEFT HANDED SO HARD THAT IT BROKE THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH AND HIT HEAD ON INTO A TREE IT LIFTED THE REAR OF MY TRUCK UP AND SLAMMED IT BACK DOWN I HAD 300 LBS OF SAND RATCHET STRAPPED WITH 2 RACHET STRAPS THE SAND BAGS ARE NOW AT THE CAB PART OF THE BED. NO MESSAGE LIGHTS OF ANY KIND WERE ON THE DASH PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT AND MY FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THAT'S POSSIBLE WITH HITTING A FIRM OBJECT AT 25 MPH TO 28 MPH. THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS INVOLVED WITH THE ACCIDENT AND THE TRUCKS WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP BUT NO WORK HAS BEEN PERFORM ON IT AS OF YET BECAUSE I REQUESTED THE AIRBAGS BE INVESTIGATED.

The contact stated while driving 35-40 MPH and hauling a trailer, the track bar fractured, causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle, and the vehicle veered into the passing lane, causing the trailer to swerve from side to side. The contact stated that upon shifting to neutral(N), the vehicle decelerated and stopped. The contact was able to drive to the residence at 15 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the Chrysler dealer however, no assistance was provided. The vehicle was then taken to a Chevrolet dealer, where an alignment was performed. The contact was later replaced with the track bar. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that assistance could not be provided because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

Air suspension stopped working. Rear driver side drops with out noticed at anytime while parked or driving. My safety concern is that it will drop low enough while driving on the highway and cause for my truck to roll over. I have read about others having the same issues with the air suspension in the front, back or both. I was going to take it to the dealership but reading online from different souses and other that have the same problems the dealer had not fully fix the problem. Am not in the position to leave my vehicle in the services department of the dealership for then not to fix the problem.

WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK AND THE AIR SUSPENSION STOPPED WORKING. MY TRUCK IS ROUGHLY 2-3 INCHES FROM THE GROUND. BOTH OF MY FRONT TIRES ARE POINTING INWARD WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT FROM THE FRONT FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE MOTOR ON THE DEFLATED SUSPENSION. HITS SMALL BUMPS LIKE EXPLOSIONS. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IF I KEEP DRIVING IT THE WAY IT IS THE FRONT BALL JOINT OR WHEEL BEARINGS ARE GOING TO COME OFF. THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS AND HAS NOT MADE ANY REASONABLE FIXES FOR IT. TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND SO FAR I AM IN $2000.00 WITHOUT BEING FIXED. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. Emergency brake does not hold vehicle when parked. Had dealership look at brake system and everything is fine. When emergency brake is applied, I can drive off not realizing the brake is on until an alarm sounds that I am driving with it engaged. This has been ongoing for years. I checked multiple forums on this problem and I am not the only one that has asked about the particular problem.

DASH POPPED UP TIRE TRACATION NOT WORKING, TOOK TO DEALER AFTER I SCANNED. BRAKE MODULE IS BAD AND WAS TOLD COULD NOT DRIVE UNTIL REPLACED, DUE POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL. ABS BRAKE MODULE PN#68295368AC NEEDS REPLACING. THE DEALER AT THE TIME SAID THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED WITH 5 WAITING FOR OVER 2-3 MONTHS. THAT WAS AUGUST 5TH. I HAVE CHECKED WITH DEALER EVERY WEEK SINCE, ON THE PART AND STILL NO PARTS AND THEY ARE UNSURE OF WHEN THEY WILL RECIEVE THEM. THIS IS MY MAIN SOURCE OF TRANSPROATION AND I CANNOT DRIVE DUE TO POSSIBLE BRAKE FAILURE. I HAVE CALLED OTHER DEALERS AND BEING TOLD THE SAME THING.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned: Electronic/ABS-Anti-Lock Braking System, and is it available for inspection upon request? YES. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When the light comes on, brakes shake and when on a wet/slippery surface, pushing down on brake pedal, feels like there's no brakes and it's hitting metal. There's been a recall for other 2017-2018 RAM models for the defective Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) that can cause failures in the anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and traction control systems and this seems to be the same issue. It's a Dodge RAM 1500 5.7L Hemi and only has 17,200 miles on it, seems odd to have this issue and not be included in the recall. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? NO Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NO Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, warning lights show: 1. ABS with a circle around it, 2. a car with 2 wavy tire tracks behind it and a message stating: "Service Electronic Braking System" and "4 Wheel Drive Disabled" light has been going on and off for a couple years

I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding the unavailability of Mopar part #68295368AC, the ABS Control Module for the 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn. As a result, both the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and cruise control are inoperative. This creates a serious hazard: without a functioning ABS, the risk of skidding and collisions increases significantly. In some cases, owners have reported vehicles rendered undriveable due to locked brakes caused by this failure. On [XXX], I brought my vehicle to Arrigo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Fort Pierce, Florida for scheduled 70,000-mile service. During intake, I showed the service advisor the illuminated ABS warning lights on my dashboard (see attached photos). Using On-Board Diagnostic Scanner (OBD service dongle), the advisor confirmed an active error code for internal ABS module failure. The service team performed the routine oil change and provided me a Multi-Point Inspection report. However, the report reflected all “green” results and contained no notation regarding the ABS failure, despite the confirmed error. After leaving the dealership and reviewing the documentation, I immediately returned. At that time, the advisor reconnected the diagnostic tool, again confirmed ABS Module Internal Failure, and explained the part was unavailable nationwide with no timeline for restock. I specifically requested to purchase the ABS module replacement for a total amount of $811.58 so this part would be noted in my service record. The service advisor added a note on the invoice that the Customer is aware that the part is on back order with no ETA at this time. Reference the following documentation dated 08/14/25: 1. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2017 RAM 1500 from a private seller. The contact stated that the sales advertisement and the odometer indicated that the mileage was 89,400. In addition, the contact was informed that the vehicle had been in one previous accident. The contact purchased the Carfax report, which indicated that on December 26, 2024, the vehicle received a transfer case replacement, and the mileage was reported at 181,000. The contact stated for confirmation of the information, the contact purchased a second car fax report, which shared the same information. The contact stated that the seller declined contact.

Rear Sliding window stuck open and unable to get window to close. Checked online and found that this is an issue that multiple people are reporting. Contacted Dodge and they inform since vehicle is out of warranty that they cant assist. This vehicle is garage kept and is very well taken care of. Non-working windows are a safety issue. There could be multiple reasons that the window is non-functional. This should be a recall for Ram.

There is a recall 66-A for this vehicle that was repaired Nov.21,2023. This recall for this Vin truck is a system update on the electric throttle control. There is another part of this recall that some vehicles have then had the crankshaft position to be off due to the tonewheel magnetic strip to break. This happened after the initial system update was done last year. This vin should also be covered under the recall for the tonewheel breaking. I am requesting it to be covered under the recall and reimbursement for the 1837.82 cost.

My Tailgate Came Open Unexpectedly, while my trailer was hooked up. I was in a development going around a turn very shortly after pulling off from my starting point. The tailgate crushed on the jack, causing significant tailgate damage. I have been In contacts with Turnersville Dodge, and they directed me to Maple Shade NJ Alfa Romeo/ Fiat. I have been on the phone with Them numerous times, as well as sent emails. This has been going on for over a year now. There is an open recall on the tailgate latch for my particular truck. This is the reason that my tailgate came open unexpectedly and caused significant damage. I have mentioned this recall, and I get alerts weekly about the open recall on the tailgate. Nothing is being done. I run a business , and have already had the inconvenience and unsafe operations, ongoing for over a year now. I am extremely busy, and it is extremely frustrating calling and emailing, with no fix in site. It’s insanity.

My 2017 Ram 1500 suffered a complete failure of the electronic power steering (EPS). The truck became unsafe to drive — steering assist cut out suddenly, and warning lights appeared. A professional mechanic removed the rack-and-pinion and found it completely filled with water and mud, despite no external damage. This is a sealed electronic unit — contamination like this points directly to a manufacturing defect. FCA issued Recall S19 (NHTSA 16V-167) for this same EPS failure in 2015–2016 models, yet they refuse to help because my VIN isn’t “covered.” This is unacceptable. Same part, same failure, same safety risk. The truck only has 63k miles, and an active NHTSA investigation (2023) and recent class actions (2024–2025) confirm this is a widespread problem. I’m asking NHTSA to push for a full recall expansion and hold FCA accountable. This is a serious safety issue with real consequences. My steering wheel completely locked up while I was driving with my 5 year old daughter in the truck on Christmas Day no less. It could have been much worse.

I have a 2017 model which was purchased june 2018. Ram dealership says my vin is not included in recall though my model and year is.

Engine started making a ticking sound approximately around Oct 15th 2023 Called ram cares because my 2008 chrysler aspen with 180k on the same 5.7 liter engine had the same sound and a private shop replaced. Lifters. Started escalation case number [XXX] on October 25th 2023. 2017 ram went to Larry Miller dealership, Boise, ID on Oct 30, 2023. Eric service manager says technician diagnosis was warped exhaust manifold and loose bolts. This is coming with the 5.7l hemi and they have replaced over 20 this year alone and with miles as low as 30,000 miles. Engine shutoff instantly while traveling at approximately 50MPH on a highway. We were able to coast to the shoulder. There was no warning, the engine just shut off instantly while driving. It would not restart and we could not even shift out of park to move the truck off the highway shoulder. Truck was towed to my home at my expense and is not movable due to this issue.

I was driving on interstate and my vehicle was running fine. Without any warning, my check engine light came on and "Service ETC" flashed. Vehicle went into limp mode and would not go over 10 miles an hour. Had it towed to dealer, a gasket on the EGR was bad, had been leaking oil into my turbo for "quite some time" according to the dodge dealership. My turbo was blown and manifold melted. This is a diesel and I only had 108,000 miles on it. Always have done the maintenance. The cost of the repair was $11,971.62. There is no reason why this vehicle should have been fine one second and have a catastrophic failure the next. I am aware of the class action lawsuit for models up to 2016 and my truck is a 2017. I believe that this is the same problem. It was 10:00 pm when this happened on the highway. I am very fortunate that I was able to get off of the highway and not be involved in a serious accident at night.

On Saturday, July 16th, I was passing a vehicle at approximately 65mph on a two lane road with no shoulder when my engine stalled. Fortunately I was on a straight stretch of the road and was able to coast to a safe location to attempt to restart my engine. After I stopped, I attempted numerous times to restart my engine without success. This stall caused me to be on the side of the road with no shoulder partially sticking out into the roadway. I eventually had to be towed to my mechanic. Once at my mechanic, he found two recalls that had similar symptoms concerning Dodge RAM Ecodiesels- recall W58 and W68 along with TSB 14-007-21. I contacted RAM and was informed that my VIN number was not included in this recall and that they would not fix my vehicle under this recall without me paying in full and their mechanic verifying what was wrong. They were also backlogged and could not even diagnose the issue for 5-8 business days. I elected to have my mechanic perform the work. Once my mechanic opened the transmission assembly, he found that the tone wheel in fact had lost a piece of the magnetic material just like the photo in the service bulletin. He had to repair all the components of the tone wheel and crank sensor assembly just as the service bulleton said to get the vehicle to run again. I have contacted RAM and they stated there is nothing they can do since there is not an open recall on my VIN number even though my truck matches the model and engine type along with affected years from the recall. My VIN should be included in this recall because this incident matches perfectly what the recall states. I have all the paperwork and the actual tone wheel if that is necessary. I am simply trying to get RAM to pay for what they should be obligated to fix on a known problem. They stated that NHTSA is the organization that recalls vehicles and maybe my VIN would be included at some point- of course I know they just don't want to pay for the repair using this as an excuse.

I TAPPED MY BRAKE TO SLOW AND DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL- AND THE IMMEDIATE RESPONSE WAS FOR THE ENGINE TO REV AND INCREASE RPM,S TO MAINTAIN SPEED. CONSTANT ATTEMPTS TO BRAKE AND OVER RIDE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. I DEEMED IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE BRAKES TO STOP MY VEHICLE! RETURNING FROM A TRIP TO MI BACK TO MY RESIDENCE IN TN. AS I MADE A TURN INTO MY SUBDIVISION I STARTED TO ACCELERATE TO MY NEXT TURN WHEN I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD BEEN USING THE VEHICLES CRUISE CONTROL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE DURING THE 10 HOUR DRIVE HOME SO IT FELT FAMILIAR, LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE MY VEHICLE. AS THE VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING AND I WAS STEERING THE THROUGH THE CURVES IN THE ROAD I HAD REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND TRIED HITTING THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES. THIS HAD NO EFFECT IN STOPPING OR SLOWING THE ACCELERATION. THE TOTAL DISTANCE FROM MY TURN INTO THE SUBDIVISION TO THE END OF THE ROAD OR NEXT INTERSECTION WAS ROUGHLY 250-300 YARDS ALL DOWNHILL SO WE PICKED UP SPEED QUICKLY. BY THE TIME I REALIZED I COULD NOT EFFECT OR SLOW DOWN THE ACCELERATION BY SHUTTING OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL MY NEXT THOUGHT WAS TO HIT THE BRAKES BUT WE HAD RUN OUT OF ROAD. While driving on the highway at 70 MPH on cruise control the ABS and Traction Control lights came on and the cruise control stopped working. There was a warning message to have the ABS system serviced. This happened again two days later. The lights did not come on after restarting the truck. I took it into the dealer and the codes were C0020-1C and C0020-16. The shop said the ABS pump and ABS control module need to be replaced. The control module has been out of stock for 3 years according to the parts department. Reconditioning is an option but the chip to fix the module is no longer available. This one dealer has close to 20 trucks waiting for this part. The 2017 and 2018 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 were recalled for the ABS, but not the 1500. From my research it seems like the same parts were involved in that recall. I have been in contact with Ram Customer Service and they are attempting to find a part, which I appreciate, but they admit that many are looking for the part and some have been waiting years. They tell me there was an issue with the original manufacturer and they had to redesign and remanufacture the part. It seems to me that this was a defective part and similar parts to this were involved in a recall of other models by the same manufacturer. I am willing to pay for the repair just to have a reliable and safe vehicle, but I would think a defective brake part should be involved in a recall. The other problem is the lack of available parts for multiple years.

My 2017 Ram 1500 is experiencing a critical failure of the ABS control module, resulting in persistent brake system warning lights, ABS warning, and electronic stability control (ESC) warning on the dashboard. This failure disables the anti-lock braking system, traction control, and cruise control, posing a significant safety risk, especially in adverse conditions where ABS is essential to prevent wheel lockup. The dashboard warning lights are constantly illuminated, creating distraction and driver fatigue. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a faulty ABS control module but informed me the part is on indefinite backorder with no estimated availability. They provided no interim solution, leaving me to drive an unsafe vehicle without ABS or cruise control, critical for long-distance highway travel. The absence of ABS increases the risk of skidding or loss of control during emergency braking, particularly on wet or slippery surfaces. The disabled ESC further compromises vehicle stability. This failure at 125,000 miles on a well-maintained vehicle is unacceptable and appears to be a widespread issue, as numerous 2015-2018 Ram 1500 owners report identical problems online and in forums. This defect warrants an immediate NHTSA investigation and recall, as it mirrors issues in 2017-2018 Ram HD models already under recall for similar ABS/HCU failures. I should not be forced to drive an unsafe vehicle indefinitely or pay out-of-pocket ($500-$2,000 per dealership estimate) for a manufacturer defect affecting thousands. Please expedite a recall to ensure Ram/Stellantis provides prompt replacements or reimbursements. My truck has been meticulously maintained with regular service and there is no reason this should be happening.

Check ABS System, Check Electric Brake System, Check Trailer Tow, icy/skid light, and emergency BRAKE dash lights are all on. Trailer brakes module will not engage electric trailer brakes when towing heavy equipment, cruise control will not function, and anti-skid brakes (Plusing brakes, instead of brakes lock-up) do not function. The latter lock-up of brakes is a huge safety issue. Dealer says Hydraulic Control unit and electric brake unit need to be replaced. The electric brake unit is not available. The Ram series 2500 and heavier have a recall on these failing parts. The Ram 1500 was not included in the recall, but has the same components that regulate the braking system. The recall needs to include all failing components regardless of the vehicle in which they are installed.

The NTSB requires that the manufacturer install ABS and SRS systems on the vehicle. The manufacturer, Ram is having issues supplying repair parts, the Anti Lock Break Control module is on national backorder with no idea of when it will be available. This is a serious safety issue and someone needs to review and determine if this can be corrected. I as well as many other vehicles are on the road without this important safety feature.

The contact owns a 2017 RAM 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle T-Boned crashed into the side of a delivery truck. During the crash, the front end of the vehicle sustained severe damage but no air bags were deployed and the front driver-side seat belt failed to secure the driver causing the driver to make contact with the steering wheel. The driver sustained a fractured sternum, head, neck, and back injuries and was transported by ambulance to the local hospital for medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The local dealer was notified of the incident. The failure mileage was 71,000.

ABS and traction control lights consistently light shortly after starting the truck. ABS, traction control and 4 wheel drive are disabled when this happens. This issue has been ongoing for many months with several attemps to repair that have not worked.

The car has hit the brakes multiple times by itself on the highway. The car also does not have traction control anymore and I almost lost control with both of my kids in the car when I went to speed up and pass someone. Since the car is rear wheel drive, I almost spun out but I let go of the gas and kept my wheel straight and it aligned itself back to normal. I’ve been in contact with the dealership about the abs problems and they said it’s a computer that is on back order for someone reason. This is very dangerous and I’ve read many reports online of how it’s happened to many folks. I constantly have an abs, brake, and traction light on. In addition, the problem Can’t even Be fixed since they don’t have the computer at the dealership. Dodge needs to fix this dangerous problem. It happened today, the spinning out, which is why I am sending this now. But I’ve had multiple issues driving in the highway with the car braking by itself due to the abs computer having an issue that dodge knows about.

Shortly after starting the engine it suddenly shut off. This has happened on three occasions, and each time I noticed the key fob was between the ON and ACC positions. I think the key fob sometimes returns too far after I release it from the start position. The first two times I had to turn it to the off position, remove the key fob, then restart the engine. This time nothing happened when I tried to restart the engine. I removed the key fob and opened and closed the driver door, then was able to restart the engine.

The vehicle worked fine one day. When I went outside the next morning to go to work, all power came on but the vehicle would not start, will not turn over, will not click. Tried to jump start and the same thing happens. I am Active Duty Army and deploying soon. We have a special needs daughter and my wife needs the vehicle to take my daughter to her therapies. The battery is in excellent working condition. Battery terminals are without corrosion and appear brand new.

Tone wheel failed at 68,300 miles, my vehicle shut off mid driving at 50mph and lost all power to accelerate and power steering and lastly ability to start. Luckily it was later in the day and traffic was light and I was able to coast onto a shoulder. safety recall 66a was only a flash fix which was all that was available on my truck while the known issue of 73a on my truck engine (tone wheel) is what failed and put mine and my sons lives at risk unnecessarily. FCA should be responsible to fix this known issue at their cost as it is an extremely dangerous situation that occurred. I am currently fighting with dealer and FCA to cover this so I only have the scan code and dealer fix for documentation at this point.

TOOK DELIVERY OF NEW 2017 DODGE RAM 1500 AND TWO DAYS LATER TOWED MY BOAT (18') TO LAUNCH TO GO FISHING. STOPPED ON RAMP LEADING TO WATER WITH ENGINE RUNNING AND PUT IN PARK TO UNHOOK BOAT FROM TRAILER. WHEN I LET ME FOOT OFF BRAKE, THE VEHICLE STARTED SLOWLY CREEPING BACKWARDS TO THE WATER. I WAS STUNNED AND HIT BRAKE AGAIN AND THEN APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKE. I HAVE DONE THIS AT LEAST A HUNDRED TIMES WITH OTHER VEHICLES AND NEVER HAS ONE NOT HELD IN PLACE ON THE RAMP AND I HAVE NEVER USED MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. UPON COMPLETION OF UNHOOKING BOAT, I THEN COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO RELEASE EMERGENCY BRAKE AS IT IS NOT MARKED WELL. GOT OUT OF VEHICLE AND NOTICED A SYMBOL ON THE PLASTIC ABOVE THE FOOT PEDAL. LIFTED UP AND IT RELEASED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND AGAIN VEHICLE STARTED BACKING UP INTO THE WATER. I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY JUMP IN THE TRUCK AND HIT THE BRAKES JUST IN TIME AS IT HIT THE WATER. I HAVE REVIEWED THIS ISSUE AND IT APPEARS TO BE FOCUSED ON 2013 - 2016 MODEL YEARS. HOWEVER, THIS IS A BRAND NEW 2017. I CAN ATTEST THAT THE KNOB WAS 100% IN THE PARK POSITION WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND MY FATHER AND SON WITNESSED THIS EVENT. While driving approximately 20mph my 2017 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel abruptly stopped/stalled on me for a second or two with no warning indications before or after. I was driving with my wife and two kids and am always very aware of driving cautiously and being aware of my surroundings. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind us at the moment the truck stalled. The truck has not been inspected by the dealership but I have called my local Ram dealership to explain this to them and they informed me of a recall that I already knew about (22V-406). I've been placed on a list in the 80's for when the part arrive.

Currently there is an open and unresolved high pressure fuel pump recall that can leave me stranded on the highway and cause an accident. The length of time until a remedy can be had is unacceptable. Also there is a new recall to reprogram the ECU to "band-aid" a potential failure of the timing reluctor ring. It still has the potential to leave me broken down on the road and cause an accident. The delamination problem of the reluctor ring is another part that should be covered under a recall instead of a software program.

How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - Failed during a rain storm making it impossible to see on the highway. Needed to pull over putting passengers at risk of rear end accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - The problem is intermittent and has not been able to be reproduced at a dealer. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - No warnings were given. The problem first appeared year one of having the vehicle. Went away until year three, went away until year 5.

WE BOUGHT A 2017 RAM 1500 ON APRIL 29, 2017. ON DEC 20, 2017, WE TOOK OUR TRUCK TO CARMAN DODGE AND WAS TOLD THAT WE NEEDED A WHOLE NEW WIPER UNIT (WIPER ASSEMBLY UNIT). THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY. WE HAD THE TRUCK FOR LESS THAN 8 MONTHS. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS PIECE OF STEEL WOULD BREAK AND NOT BE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THE PART WAS "BROKEN" AND IT'S NOT A DEFECT. AFTER SPENDING AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH CHRYSLER, THEY STILL REFUSE TO COVER THIS. I HAD TO PAY $390 FOR THIS NEW PART/INSTALLATION. My ABS module is bad. I have no traction control, or cruise control. My truck shows service trailer brake system, service electronic braking system, and service antilock brake system. I took it to my mechanic in October 2024 and he said there is no part available from Dodge. I took it to a Dodge dealer April 6, 2025 and they were going to send the ABS module off to be rebuilt, said it would take 3 to 4 days. They then called and said it would take one month to rebuild. I went and got my truck back, since I can’t be without it for a month. There are many owners on a forum for Ram 1500 with the same issue. Some are trading theirs in for a different vehicle because of this issue.

While driving the vehicle, the cruise control disengages, the traction control light comes on, and the ABS light comes on along with a warning bell dinging incessantly! It may stay like this for hundreds of miles or may be intermittent. Sometimes I can restart the vehicle and it will reset and sometimes it won’t. I haven’t been able to replicate it for the dealership…although it’s been occurring for over a year now. Driving conditions don’t seem to make any difference as a cause. Wet, dry, smooth, or bumpy roads…it’s all the same.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and stalled in the middle of the road. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact attempted to pull over to the side of the road, but the gear shifter failed to shift to neutral. The tow truck operator disassembled the dashboard to shift the vehicle into neutral. The contact then towed the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with tone crankshaft failure. Additionally, there were 2 sensors that were damaged due to pressure sensor and battery failure. The vehicle was waiting to be repaired and the parts were ordered. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

While traveling on a paved state maintained road at approximately 45-50 miles per hour, the driver side front tire on my 2017 RAM 1500 exploded. The condition of the road at the time was clear and there were no foreign objects laying in the lane of travel. Upon the tire exploding, I was immediately pulled left into the opposing lane of traffic. No injuries or crash were reported during this incident, however had my rate of speed been higher, lack of driving skills, or oncoming traffic, the results could have proved to be fatal. After finding a safe location off of the travelled roadway, I replaced the faulty tire with a spare. I observed damage to my inner fender liner as a result of the explosion. The tire has not been inspected by the police, insurance company, or the manufacturer. No warning lamps or other indicators provided notification of any problems prior to the incident. The faulty tire in question is Identified as a Goodyear Wrangler SR-A, P275/60R20. This tire is an original installation from the vehicle manufacturer and has been in service for 20,300 miles. This particular tire blew out in a straight line fashion across the tread section of the tire from sidewall to the opposite sidewall. This is the first time that I have ever reported a safety matter, however due to the unique circumstances of the failure of this tire, I feel that this matter should be investigated and this tire removed from service. I have conducted internet searches and found other consumers have experienced the exact same tire failure scenario. I will be replacing all four Gooodyear tires on my RAM truck tomorrow with a completely different manufacturer. The tire can be retained for inspection if necessary, although it will be disposed of if no such request is received.

Third brake leaks into the cab under the seat through the sound proofing causing mold in the cab. Vehicle has approximately 29k miles and I would not have notice if I did not lift the seat up where I found some of my items with moldy and wet. If not notice if could cause respiratory issues to occupants. The manufacturer and dealer does not want to cover the repairs. Upon further inquiries, many older models had the same problem. This is a serious health hazard.

DRIVING DOWN A ROAD AT 55MPH AND HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AND COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AS IT WAS NIGHT TIME AND IT WAS PITCH BLACK. I HAVE A 2017 RAM 1500 ECO DIESEL. I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL ON IT FOR THE DIESEL EGR COOLER. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN ONCE AND AFTER A COMPUTER CHECK WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY SAID THAT IT DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. CHRYSLER SENT ME MORE RECALL NOTICES THAT SAID I NEEDED TO GET IT REPAIRED. I SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM THAT I HAD IT CHECKED AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I DID NEED TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED. I SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR OCT 16 TO GET IT FIXED. AFTER MY TRUCK WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP ALL DAY, I DECIDED TO CALL AND GET THE STATUS ON THE REPAIR ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT GOING TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR LEAK. I FOUND THIS ODD FOR A SAFETY RECALL, SO I CHECKED WITH CHRYSLER AGAIN AND READ THE RECALL INSTRUCTIONS. While parking my truck, it had an unintended acceleration and my foot was not on the gas peddle. I was going about 1-2mph and the truck picked up speed unexpectedly and collided with my garage wall. I am unsure what component malfunctioned and it has not yet been inspected. Myself and my baby were in the car and luckily I was able to stop by hitting the brakes and putting the car in park. It continued to pull forward even with my foot on the brake. There was no warning or codes prior to or after the incident.

When the truck gets to a half of a tank the fuel light will come on and the gauge drops down past empty as well as a check engine light will come on. This is getting more frequent and if this happens at a lower fuel amount there is a possibility of the unit running out of fuel and being in traffic or interstate highway. This could prove to be deadly.

Truck has had issues with cranking but not starting consistently since owning. I have had it towed to multiple dealers who say they can not duplicate the issue. I take it home, drive it for a day or two and then it will crank and not start. I have paid multiple diagnosis fees, I have taken video of the issue and the dealer says they can't go by video they have to duplicate it. I have been stranded multiple times and can't rely on the truck starting when I need to drive it. The fuel pump has had a recall for a year now and dealer says they don't have parts to fix it. I am at a loss, there have been no warning light consistently, sometimes the engine light comes on when this happens and sometimes it does not. Dealer can't fix the fuel pump issue and I can't drive the truck without fear of being stranded and towed to dealer for them to say the same thing every time.

The fuel sensor has failed which causes us not to know how much gas is in the vehicle. The vehicle only has 30,800 miles on it. There is another issue that we are currently getting checked. The vehicle would not start even with a jump. After leaving it on trickle charge we got to to start but the traction control light came on the service shifter light came, and it said there were no pressure in the tires. We parked the vehicle and had someone come pick us up due to us not feeling safe because it was shifting weird. We had to have it towed to a dealer and they are currently diagnosing it.

I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE BETTER TESTING OF REAR-END COLLISIONS. I BELIEVE IF MY SEAT WOULD NOT HAVE BROKE, I WOULD HAVE STAYED IN CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE POSSIBLY PREVENTING MY TRUCK GOING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ALSO, MY BACK AND NECK WOULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED AS MUCH WHIPPING MOTION CAUSING MY INJURIES. MY SECOND CONCERN IS THE AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING IN THE HEAD ON COLLISION. THE AVALANCHE'S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BUT MINE DID NOT. I WROTE CHRYSLER AN EMAIL REPORTING THE INCIDENT AND MY CONCERNS. THEY APPOINTED BOSCH EAA TO INVESTIGATE IT THE INCIDENT AND INSPECT MY TOTALED TRUCK AND REVIEW THE DATA FROM MY VEHICLE'S COMPUTER. BOSCH HAS TOLD ME THEY SENT THE INVESTIGATION REPORT TO CHRYSLER TO REVIEW AND THEY WILL RESPOND TO ME WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS. ABS module failure, dealer has tried to reprogram computer but didn’t work. They also tried to send out to rebuild the ABS module and it couldn’t be rebuilt. Dodge has no part to replace as of yet because this part was made vin specific. Brake traction control, trailer brakes and cruise control do not work. I have had this issue over a year now.

On [XXX], I received a "SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM" error on my 2017 Ram 1500 and then "CHECK ENGINE" light came on. I did not drive the truck after that except to bring it to my dealer at first available appointment on [XXX]. I brought the truck to my dealer for repair and after system inspection was told the ABS module and HCU (hydraulic control unit) are faulty and need replacement. The parts are on backorder and not expected for months. This seems to be a known problem with the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. I am told I can operate the truck at my own risk without the repair. I live in Iowa with winter snow and should not have to be concerned with braking issues which put myself and my family at risk. I have a bad ABS Module. Due to this, I dont not have ABS, traction control, or cruise control. I have been trying to get one for years, since roughly 2021... Again, I do not have ABS or tractions control, which are federally mandated to have. I have been told that the chips on this module is bad and that nothing that can be done. This is just wrong, and is a major safety concern on the road that I would hold the dealer liable for. Safety is a major concern here if I have to brake abruptly, or it is raining without traction control I fear for myself and others lives are at risk ... There were no warning, the light indicators just went off and started flashing... I feel this needs to be fixed asap, and I just recently learned that I could reach out here in hopes to find a resolution. If it cant be fixed, then I believe the dealer should have to buy the vehicle back as they are federally mandated to provide ABS and traction control on vehicles. Thank you for your time.

Lights are on for the abs system and stabilizer. Took car to mechanic and they indicated that the module needs to be replaced as described by the information posted.from other cars similar issues. No recall has been posted for my module and it costs over $1,200 TO FIX. My 2017 ram 1500 laramie needs to be on recall list to fix the same issues. This issue presented it self when I was make a left turn. Abs and stable control Lights went on.

Power steering failed while driving. Replace the power steering rack (dealership replaced it). It still failing due to the torque sensor or the steering wheel, a steering wheel angle sensor being faulty,. Very dangerous if the vehicles power steering randomly stops doing its job while in motion.

Electric assist steering failure, truck is getting hard to steer either direction. Air ride system is bouncing like having no suspension at all, went into dealer and they report that the compressor, control board and manifold all need to be replaced. Vehicle only has 68,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact stated the gear shift/rotary dial had seized in place. The vehicle failed to shift into park, and the key failed to release from the ignition switch. While driving, the vehicle jumped from park to reverse and then drive. The drive, reverse, park, and neutral warning lights were illuminated. While at a stop, the vehicle locked. While depressing the accelerator pedal, there was an abnormal revving sound detected. The vehicle was hesitating and was slow to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed as an electrical failure. The dealer informed the contact that the control module was not communicating with the TCM. The dealer scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not repaired. I keep getting the service electronic stability control along with abs, no traction control,no remote start and no power whatsoever when I drive it happens mainly when it's cold outside but we have had this issue before and it was in and out of the dealerships garage for 8 months and the problem eventually went away after it got warm outside again. It is getting cold and now we can no longer drive our vehicle safely. I have heard of the recal of the 2019 and 2021-2025 models but I'm very confused as to why the other models aren't also recalled as there are thousands of complaints about the same or similar problems with my specific year of truck and others. Please fix this I am at a loss with my 40,000 truck that has 6 years left until it's paid off and I can't even drive it again.

It's been reproduced and diagnosed at dealership. Exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold bolts are a well known issue that's has been reported multiple times and seems to be ignored. 2) Ignition Lock Cylinder on start up intermittently it sounds as if gets stuck turning over and will power up for 1-2 secs and shut off. The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The low oil and fuel pressure warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that as a result of the failure, the vehicle swerved as the contact maneuvered the vehicle to safely avoid a crash. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact the stated that he requested that additional diagnostic tests be performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 64,322. The contact stated that the manufacturer has yet to state whether or not if they will reimburse for the replacements. No repairs have been made.

On Sunday March 27, 2022 my daughter and I were in my 2017 Ram 1500 Bighorn 5.7 liter Hemi, driving east bound on a major road leading from my neighborhood. We were going about 50 mph when the entire dash board lit up like a Christmas tree, windshield wipers, radio volume going up and down, all sensors going off, and the entire speedometer went black, all of this happened going full speed, oh, and the gear shift knob turned off!!!! I couldn’t control my vehicle at all. All of this happened and then it just went black, no speedometer, no gear shifter, and no steering control!! I want to remind you that I was driving with my child in the truck!! It is now at my local mechanic with the truck completely bricked. No power whatsoever, gear is stuck, and the key fob is stuck in ACC and they cannot get it out. This needs to be investigated asap. If I was in the highway we would have killed ourselves and possibly someone else. I lost all control over my vehicle due to some freak electrical issue Chrysler refuses to fix. Maybe a fat lawsuit will help. If you research the complaints on this vehicle, you will see this is not the first time this has happened. Does someone, or a family, have to die first before you will respond?!! This is on you Chrysler to do the right thing. Recall these trucks ASAP. I swear to you someone is going to die if you do not act now!! I’m a combat veteran who has been in actual combat, and this was one of the most terrifying incidents of my life, mainly because my babygirl was in there with me. For the price I paid for this truck, it should be darn near bulletproof. Sad day when American manufacturers put profit over people.

In two occasions, the vehicle speed locked on and the vehicle began accelerating out of control. The dash message lit up stating electronic throttle control service. A quick internet search shows it is a common problem. I know many ram owners who have the exhaust manifolds break repeatedly. Both are severe problems.

For the second time in about a year my truck has given the error code of "service electronic throttle control." I took it in and was told it was a computer update and it was fixed. Right at about a year later, the same error code appeared. With this error, power to the vehicle is reduced causing safety issues as your ability to maintain speed or accelerate is greatly diminished. I do not know if the part itself was inspected during the original service and computer update. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the error message coming up on the instrument cluster.

We have owned this vehicle for almost 3 years now and we have had to replace 2 sensors, the cruise control will intermittently no disengage when buttons are pushed or brake pushed, replaced the full pump, sometimes it will lose all power going down the road, HD to replace the fuse box because it was getting and started to melt, it will try to start and will just keep cranking until you slam on the gas, and the rear window leaks every time it rains. We have paid for everything out of pocket and we are still having all these problems and the mechanics can not figure out the problem,but are guessing it the fuel pump or fuel injectors.

While driving several times since purchasing it the vehicles steering had completely locked and I've had to slam on brakes in middle of traffic before i crash several times, very close to causing serious injuriesto myself or others and possibly death. This has happened numerous times since i bought it. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it, they said they fix it in 2021 it has happend several times since then also, im scared to drive it. Or it will get super lose like a joy stick, but won't turn at all. Ive taken it to several other dealerships for diagnosis with similar results. Now when i brought it to the dealership where i purchased they're saying they have to charge to diagnosis it again when I have several other diagnosis stating same problem plus i brought it here in 2021 same problem. so there own diagnosis which should be in system, ive went to another dodge dealership for diagnosis and auto separate auto repair shop who confirmed the same electrical power steering issues. They even printed papers stating the 2015-2016 ram had same problem and recalls on same steering wheel issues.

1.The components that failed were the entire rear dif. It will be available for inspection and I will make certain that my mechanic takes photos. 2. My brakes completely locked up on me TWICE and the vehicle stalled. I was left in the middle of the road on a downward slope and on a curve, a blind spot. I was extremely fortunate that this didn't take place on the interstate and that there wasn't a tractor trailer following behind me!! 3. My mechanic verified that it was in fact the rear differential that was destroyed. The inside of the casing was "chewed up" by the gears. He called around and was able to locate a slightly used one to attempt to save me money and it was easier for him to complete the task of replacing it. 4. There are no police reports or insurance claims. 5. There were no warning lamps to alert me that anything was wrong. The only thing that took place was the truck lost power TWICE while traveling on the interstate where I was forced to stop in the break down lane. Both situations could have ended MUCH WORSE for me.

I am writing this letter about a vehicle I purchased in November 2023. The vehicle purchased was a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 Diesel from Rick Chevrolet in Virginia Beach VA. The truck has many defects. The first month I took it back for a leaking tire, broken windshield, oil leak and because it drove funny and I did not know what was wrong with it, but I knew something was wrong. They kept the truck for approximately a week or two. In April I hit a pothole in Norfolk off [XXX] and I didn’t know what had happened to the truck. I left it in Norfolk until the next morning because I could not get a tow truck to come out that night. I had my truck towed to Dodge, Ram and FIAT in Norfolk VA. They told me the Tie Rod, Axle, had broken. The Dealer then, told me that the truck would not align so they sent it to the Collision Center. The collision center told me that the truck had a bent frame and it did not happen due to the pothole. That the truck was a death trap and I need not to drive it that the dealer should not have sold me that truck. I went and talked to the Manager at Rick Chevrolet named Kerry and he said we could swap the truck, but I had to make a down payment of an excessive amount due to my credit. I did not know that this truck was a nightmare and I feel why should I have to pay for someone selling me a truck that can kill me and whoever is riding with me. I bought the truck because they are supposed to be safe. This is ridiculous and the dealership is not trying to help me out of this by putting me in a safe vehicle. I am paying for something that is going to cause me bodily harm or my life, and they want me to pay more to get into a safe vehicle. This truck should not have been sold and because it was, they need to take responsibility and swap me out of this death trap. Can you please look into this matter. The collision center gave me copies of what they did, and what they found wrong with the truck and a picture of frame being bent. I was involved in an accident where a car pulled out in front of me causing my truck to T-bone them. I estimate I was traveling at 40 mph or so at the time of impact. My airbags did not deploy during this impact. I have never had an issue with the air bag system on this vehicle, but believe the dealership had performed a recall or flashed some software within the last 3 years pertaining to the airbag. I'm not sure if the computer detected the impact and decided not to deploy the airbags, or if they should have deployed and the system was faulty? I am a larger man and am glad the seatbelt restrained me, but am afraid someone with smaller stature, or unable to brace themselves before impact would not have faired as well. As it is, I am on day 4 of neck, back and whole body aches and whiplash which has caused a constant unbearable headache with light and sound sensitivity in the harsh summer that probably could have been lessened had the airbag stopped me?

Safety recall 66A/NHTSA 23V-411 was performed for software. Transmission was diagnosed with a bad Tone Wheel (RAM recall X94-Warranty Extension. Applies to RAM vehicles built on or after June 13, 2014 and on or before March 26, 2018 equipped with a 3.0L Turbo Diesel Engine). My vehicle is the make, type, model, and engine specific vehicle, however; it does not meet the VIN specificity for the X94 extended warranty coverage. I would like to know why.

The ABS module on my vehicle is causing warning lights on my dashboard. I ran an analysis and it says the ABS Electronic module is bad. I have tried to obtain a replacement module and have been unable to locate one. The part number is 68295368AB. Two Dodge dealers have told me the part is under engineering review and they cannot even order the module until May 15, 2024 if then. What is a consumer supposed to do? Drive a possibly unsafe vehicle because Dodge is "reviewing" an obviously frequently failing part? That would seem to place a lot of potentially dangerous vehicles on the road. The part seems to have been produced without any kind of gasket around the edge of the unit, and it is housed next to the front wheel well, where dust and dirt would be present. I have no choice other than to drive this vehicle as is, because I have no other transportation available. I plan to bring this to news media for consumer awareness.

While driving on a busy Highway my 2017 Ram 1500 will lose power causing me to abruptly slow down in the middle of the road. Suddenly my check engine light and every other light appears and I get many warnings in the dash: service electronic braking system, service shifter, and many more. Restarting the vehicle or disconnecting the battery will resolve the issue for a short amount of time. It’s not long before the same thing happens again.

On a irregular basis, would get warning messages and dash warning lights about " Service Anti-lock Brake system" , and " Service Electronic Brake System", and vehicle would start to immediately lose power and in some locations, would be on an open highway at highway speeds. Would have to pull off road to try and cycle truck off and on to regain operation. Getting rear-ended on the highway is NOT an option due to a faulty module or braking system...!! NO pre warning lights or symtpons, it just happens.

Vehicle was brought in several times for loose headlights. Each time fastners were replaced. By dealership. Larry Miller boise, ID. Called ram cares they stated nothing was reported to them nor were there any recall. This is a major safety issue and on forums many people state they cannot pass state inspection because the headlights are falling out.

Driving approx. 45 mph when truck lost acceleration. Truck began making clanking sound and check engine light came on and electronic throttle control light. Almost got into an accident due to someone almost rear ending me and then had to coast into a parking lot when I lost total control of all steering and almost hit a parked car. Truck would not restart, had to call for a tow back home that was 150+ miles because no dealerships close by would accept vehicle or had availability. Truck taken to local Dodge dealership and diagnosed with high pressure fuel pump failure and the eta for parts for a fix are unknown at the time. Have been without a truck or car for 2 weeks now, have 4 kids and both me and my wife work full time and now only have 1 car to get around in because the truck had to be diagnosed first before a rental could be granted, if they even give me one. Still waiting to hear back about getting a rental and been 2 weeks without a truck.

When we bought the truck we drove to Virginia beach, va. The cruise control was locked on at 72mph and had to turn truck off to keep from rear ending many vehicles stopped on Interstate. Brake failure has almost caused wreck 5 or 6 times. I did have accident in June. I don't drive it anymore have a 38,000 vehicle we cant drive because brakes fail. Two different occasions the wheel on drivers side has broke lugs and wheel came off once and second time I heard noise and parked it. I had 1 lug left that time. As we lost my mom and sister in wrong way crash this has brought unnecessary stress and emotional distress. So we have no vehicle and out of 38,000. The contact wants to add the Hemi tick defect as well.

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 V6 3.6L (VIN [XXX] ) . When I used my parking break I have noticed that there are certain issue with the steering (hard to steer) and also that the parking brake cable hanging loose. When I checked the e-brake the cable is hanging down under the truck. It looks like parking brake is engaged and stuck and doesn't provide enough tension to the cable (doesn't retract). However, I have also noticed when going at around 65 mph that there the wheel is shaking like e-brake is engaged, and it is also hard to steer. 1-ABS PUMP MOTOR CONTROL- GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE anti-lock brake code C0020-01 came on at 44185 miles. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they are telling me that The ABS unit needs to be replaced and that it is not covered under the warranty. this repair is going to cost me between $1200 and $2000. 2- At @ 30000 miles the FUEL INDICATOR LEVEL UNIT located inside the fuel tank went bad, showing that the tank was empty when the fuel tank was full. That part for the repair cost me $275 just for the part plus the installment pay. This vehicle is driven very little for All of these problems to be present. I think Dodge /Ram should stand behind their products and do the right thing and honor these repairs. Thank you.

During the rainstorms here in sacramento California water was coming inside the truck. At the dealer it was diagnosed with the 3rd brake light and flapper vents needed replacement that was the cause of water leaks. water was entering on the back cabin and baseboards were flooded. It’s a safety hazard because mold started forming real bad. We didn’t catch it right away.

The 8.4" infotainment screen freezes up at random times. This is an ongoing recurring issue. This is not only a comfort/convenience/entertainment annoyance. This also disables safety equipment, for example the back-up camera and the windshield defrosting via the climate control system. While I have reached out to the manufacturer for guidance, I have not taken it in for service. There are no warning lamps or indicators of malfunction. This has not resulted in any accidents yet, although I can plainly see the potential.

The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the brake and accelerator assembly to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. ACCORDING TO CHAPMAN LAS VEGAS THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE REASON FOR THE MISFIRE/CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND HAD ME PICK UP THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY. MY TRUCK HAS A MANUFACTURING DATE OF 11/17 AND ONLY HAS 37K MILES ON THE TRUCK. RANDOMLY MY TRUCK WENT INTO A "LIMP MODE" AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS DRIVING DOWN UNIVERSITY DRIVE IN HUNTSVILLE, AL AT ROUGHLY 45MPH ACCELERATING UP A SMALL INCLINE. THE 'LIMP MODE' IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND RESTRICTS THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR DRIVE AT A NORMAL PACE. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY OR PULLING OUT (WHAT WOULD NORMALLY BE SAFE) INTO TRAFFIC AND MY ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WAS EFFECTED IT COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. I TAKE MY 13-WEEK OLD DAUGHTER TO AND FROM DAYCARE IN THIS TRUCK AND IT HAS BECOME UNSAFE. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THEY ORIGINALLY NOTATED THAT IT WAS JUST A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I LATE GET A CALL THAT THE EGR COOLER HAD GONE OUT, BUT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THEY HAD 6 OTHER ECODIESEL VEHICLES IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN THE LAST WEEK. I CALLED THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY HAD ONE IN THE SHOP IN FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I THEN STARTED DOING RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE EGR COOLER IS A HUGE ISSUE FOR THESE TRUCKS AND FCA REFUSES TO ADDRESS IT. I CALLED THE FCA AND THEY EVENTUALLY AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRUCK ON 'GOOD WILL' AFTER I PAID A DEDUCTIBLE. FCA NEEDS TO PUT A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE EGR ISSUES. CONCERN #2: WHILE COMING TO A SLOW ROLLING STOP (AS IF COMING TO A KNOWN STOP SIGN) THERE IS A HARD BANG/CLUNK JUST BEFORE GETTING TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE BEING HIT IN THE REAR BY ANOTHER CAR. AS YOU SLOWLY ACCELERATE IT BANGS/CLUNKS AGAIN HARD. THE BANG CAN BE FELT AND HEARD, AND ONLY HAPPENS ON SLOW STOPS, NOT WHEN YOU HAVE TO STOP QUICKLY. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME REGARDING THIS SAME CONCERN. THE DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION AND A TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY WAS REPLACED BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE CONCERN. NOTICED A SMELL FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW CONSISTENT WITH WET AND MOLDY CARPET AFTER IT RAINS. I NOTICED UNDER MY BACK SEATS IN THE STORAGE COMPARTMENT THAT THERE WAS STAGNANT WATER PUDDLING UP. BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC SHOP IN CORAL SPRINGS ( DR. BRAKES W/ MIKE.) AND HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED FOR A FEE. FOUND OUT THAT THE REAR GLASS WITH THE OPERABLE WINDOW WAS LEAKING DOWN THE PASSENGERS SIDE, WETTING THE BACK INSULATION GOING DOWN TO THE CARPET FLOORING, AND FINALLY INTO THE STORAGE COMPARTMENTS. I CALLED COOPERATE IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE AND THE FIRST REP WAS PROFESSIONAL AND ASSISTED ME WITH A "GOOD WILL" CLAIM BEING THAT THIS IS MY FIRST DODGE VEHICLE AND EVEN INSISTED ON MY BROTHER PURCHASING ONE (WHICH HE DID, 2019 RAM SPORT ORANGE IN COLOR).THE REP HELPED ME SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. WHEN I GET TO THE ARRIGO DODGE, CHRYSLER, JEEP IN TAMARAC FL FOR MY APPOINTMENT ON THURSDAY AUG. 22, 2019, MY SERVICE PROFESSIONAL TERRI, CLAIMED THAT THE CASE WAS OPENED AND CLOSED THAT 2 DAYS BEFORE ON TUESDAY AND HE DIDN'T KNOW WHY BUT SHE ASKED HER DIRECTOR OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS THEY'RE WERE ANYTHING ELSE AND HE TOLD HER NO AND WALKED AWAY FROM ME. CALLED CORP AGAIN, SPOKE TO TRAVIAN, WHO WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ENDED UP WITH ME ON HOLD FOR 11MINS ONLY TO HANG OP ON ME INSTEAD OF TRANSFERRING ME TO SOMEONE ELSE. IT HAS DONE THIS WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING STATIONARY AFTER LOCKING IT WITH THE KEY FOB. #3 BOTH FRONT WINDOWS ARE EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTO UP FEATURE. THIS FEATURE HAS COME AND HOME IN BOTH FRONT WINDOWS. AT THE TIME IT WORKS BUT IT HAPPENS IRREGULARLY. #4 THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SHIFT WELL AFTER COASTING AS IN ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE A DODGE 2017 1500 SERIES PICKUP. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A P275/60R20 TIRES. AFTER RETURNING FROM A TRIP I NOTICED THE LEFT REAR TIRE HAD AN AIR LEAK. I TOOK IT TO A TIRE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY REMOVED THE TIRE FROM THE VEHICLE. IT HAD VERY UNUSUAL WEAR INDICATING THE TIRE HAD A BULGE AND THEN SUFFERED A TINY HOLE IN THE TIRE. UPON REMOVAL AND INSPECTION, THE TIRE HAD SPLIT ACROSS THE TREAD ON THE INTERIOR OF THE TIRE APPROXIMATELY 6 INCHES LONG. A REVIEW OF THE NHTSA COMPLAINTS INDICATES THAT THIS SAME SCENARIO OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITH THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE AND THE SAME TIRE.

ONLY 5700 MILES ARE ONE THESE TIRES AND I WAS ABOUT 3 HOURS INTO A 6 HOUR DRIVE WITH CLEAR AND COOL WEATHER CONDITIONS. THERE WAS NO ALERT FROM TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR STATING THEY AIR WAS LOW. THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND IT PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT INTO THE LEFT LANE... THANKFULLY NO OTHER VEHICLES WHERE IN THAT LANE. AT THAT SPEED IT COULD'VE EASILY BEEN A CRASH WITH FATALITIES. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ABOUT A HALF MILE FROM HOME MY TRUCK SHUT DOWN. MY ENGINE TURNED OFF AND LOST MY STEERING,LIGHTS,AND DASH LIGHTS. THE ONLY THING THAT REMAINED ON WAS THE FULLY ILLUMINATED 8' RADIO COMMAND CENTER AND GEAR SELECT KNOB.THE SATELLITE RADIO REMAINED PLAYING BUT COULDN'T ADJUST VOLUME. I LUCKILY PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD. I COULDN'T RESTART VEHICLE TO MOVE IT. I THEN TOOK MY KEY FOB AND LOCKED AND OPENED THE TRUCK.THE LIGHTS FLASHED AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE TO MOVE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. DURING THE TIME OF TURNING VEHICLE BACK ON THE DASH DISPLAYED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I THEN RECEIVED A VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION REPORT EMAILED TO ME THAT ENGINE/TRANSMISSION SERVICE NEEDED. THIS INCIDENT WITH A NEW TRUCK WITH 23,000 MILES IS VERY CONCERNING IN LOSING POWER,LIGHTS AND STEERING. THE PROBLEMS STATED WERE OVER A MONTH AGO AS NOTED WITH PICTURES
