The backup camera randomly gets a distorted picture or just goes black. The wiring harness at the tailgate is the issue. I can wiggle the harness and close the tailgate and it works again. I replaced the harness myself once and now it’s doing it again. THE U CONNECT SCREEN KEEPS ASKING TO UPDATE THE CLOCK WHEN THE CLOCK IS ACCURATE, LOCKS OUT ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS UNTIL I HIT THE X, THEN ALL GOES AWAY, THEN THE MESSAGE RETURNS.

Unconnect / head unit malfuctions in a way that makes driving unsafe. Climate control is unusable, gps malfuctions, radio stations change, phone calls people, mutes/unmutes, hangs up. AC/Heat alternates and turns on and off on it's own. It's incredibly distracting.

Dash mounted control screen malfunctions, and the heater will switch back and forth randomly the radio doesn't function properly, can't control heater or defrosters. If using navigation, it will malfunction and flicker on and off.

The infotainment screen on my ram 1500 is delaminating causing it to ghost press functions. This is resulting it starting and stopping music, phone calls, voice prompts, backup camera, mirror dimmer, etc. it has started doing this in the last month. It distracts the driver because the screen requires constant attention and can’t be turned off.

This is my 2nd complaint...Uconnect never did return my call as they promised they would....now our Uconnect is so bad it makes driving a safety concern. After starting our Ram the Uconnect keeps trying to call a number ....we have no idea what number it is but it continues dialing....we can not turn it off so if we need to drive this vehicle this is what we have to put up with....very distracting...I see many complaints on this website but nothing is being done....we get nowhere with Uconnect even though we have called numerous times...we can not access any of the features from this radio/Uconnect device...cameras...non functioning on the screen....what will it take before someone does something to make the manufactures respond.....as long as NHTSA does nothing....then Uconnect will feel embolden to also do nothing....PLEASE THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ..

our radio in our 2018 Dodge ram has delaminated and it makes it now a safety issue...the cameras and other things are no longer available making it more and more a car we can not drive safely...we have contacted UCONNECT and done everything they have asked us to do...and EVERYTIME we call them back we get a different answer...first they were going to escalate the issue to get it fixed...then when called back...it was no we will not fix it...out of warranty they say this time...I am on the phone with them as I write this...each person has such broken English it is next to impossible to understand them.....as this is a widespread problem and others have had this corrected and some of us have not..why has this not become a recall as it is a safety problem...the dealer has confirmed the problem and gave an 1166.74 dollar figure to fix it at the time of 12-02-24...this problem started in early 2024 but would come and go to the point we are in now...totally not working...Mary from Uconnect ram division said a person named Viplove will call me within 1 day...I am not holding out hope as they never call back...so we never get it fixed leaving us an unsafe vehicle...THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED....what does it takes to get an issue put into a recall to fix safety issues....a death need to happen...that is way to long..it is now making loud sounds to the point driving is not an option....if you look this issue up on the internet you will see plenty of people complaining about this....Please look into this....please

We have noticed for more than a year that the main touch screen of our 2018 Ram 1500 has screen delamination, and, with it, ghosting; i.e., it appears a ghost is touching buttons, as even though we are not touching buttons on the screen, buttons are being pushed all over the screen. We are happy to make the vehicle available for inspection or provide videos upon request. If we have Bluetooth on, and our phone contact list is up, multiple people are called (we have to make sure we do not have Bluetooth enabled when we are in the vehicle). Sometimes, when we are driving, the rearview camera will turn on. We no longer listen to the radio, as it is impossible to keep the same station -- the ghosting jumps from station to station. In addition to being extremely distracting, it recently became a safety issue. We live in Wisconsin, and in July 2024, we were driving on the interstate during a pop-up thunderstorm. We had the defrost on because the windshield was fogging up, and suddenly, the touchscreen went crazy. It turned the defrost off, flipped to the radio screen, and then switched to the rear camera, all while the windshield quickly fogged up. It was at this moment that we realized this was now a safety issue, as we were in heavy traffic on the highway during a thunderstorm, and we couldn't see anything. Our dealer is aware of the issue, as multiple other Ram trucks have experienced similar issues. A simple Google search of "Ram screen ghosting" leads to hundreds, if not thousands, of posts about the same issue. The issue first appeared about 18 months ago, in February 2023, when the truck had approximately 45000 miles on it. It now has about 60000 miles on it.

The gas tank will not take fuel. Tried multiple pumps at multiple gas stations and the pump keeps turning off. You have to keep restarting the pump over and over again. If you look it up online, there are hundreds of people having the same issue and most cases seem to be a faulty rollover valve, the filler neck itself or a complete replacement of the gas tank. If someone isn’t monitoring the fuel level with the ignition on and they keep restarting the pump, they may over fill the tank and pump gas on the vehicle or themselves which is hazardous and could be potentially fatal.

The vehicle had a recall of a high-pressure fuel pump. I was driving on the freeway when the vehicle suddenly stopped. I had the vehicle towed to the closes dealership. I was told that at the time the manufacture did not have the parts to replace the fuel pump and the debris passed through the system damaging filter and the catalytic converter. I was told by the dealership mechanic that there were metal shavings through-out the system. They partially repaired it and once I went to register my vehicle at the DMV they wanted proof of the recall repair. I took the vehicle back but the dealership does not wish to repair the consequential damage the recall caused. I still do not have my vehicle or proof the vehicle is in a safe working condition. Dealership and Manufacture refuse to repair the vehicle.

1 of 2 Gas tank mounting straps released, rusted thru the frame and the gas tank was hanging by the rear strap only. could have been a huge fire risk if tank released and ruptured on the road.. has not been reported thru dealer yet, had same issue on my 2011 ram 1500 which was recalled to fix. only warning was seeing something hanging under my truck and hearing a new noise as the metal strap rubbed on the drive shaft.. i crawled underneath and found as described above.

Since purchasing my 2018 Dodge Ram brand new, I have experienced consistent issues while refueling. From day one, the fuel pump at gas stations would shut off multiple times during a fill-up, even when the tank was far from full. Initially, I believed this was an issue with individual gas stations or pumps. However, the problem has progressively worsened over time. At this point, the fuel pump shuts off more than 50 times during a single refueling attempt. It has become extremely difficult to fill the tank properly, and I have no reliable way of knowing when the tank is full. This issue frequently results in gasoline overflowing and spilling onto the ground, posing a serious safety hazard to myself and others, as well as an environmental concern. It also causes unnecessary fuel waste and stress during every refueling. After some research, I have learned that this issue may be related to the vapor canister or fuel system design, which has reportedly affected other Ram truck owners as well. I am filing this complaint to formally report the defect, urge investigation, and ensure Chrysler/Stellantis is held accountable for a resolution. This is a significant safety and environmental issue that should not be ignored.

The front fuel tank strap fell off and tank is now hanging. When looking at strap, I noticed the frame mount that holds strap was corroded/rusted and had snapped, causing strap to let go. This was a recall back in 2009-2012 on this same vehicle. This should be looked at ASAP and recalled. This is a safety issue. Thankfully I found this before tank dropped out while driving.

Traveling (cruising) at highway speed on interstate the engine suddenly made a clanking noise and engine oil pressure went to zero and engine stopped. I barley managed to just get out of major traffic without causing an accident and off the interstate coasting to a stop This could have been a tragic accident that was just barely avoided.the truck has 80043 miles. Just 43 miles out of warranty. It has been dealer serviced on time since day one. This seems to be an ongoing issue with these engines as they just decide to sop on their own with notice. If this had happened while passing another vehicle It would have been bad. FCA ( fiat, chrysler ,automobiles) refuses to help out or even listen. This is dangerous as is their fuel pump recalls. Truck is now out of warranty by 43 miles and the company FCA washes their hands of any kind of wrong doing. These engines in the vehicles are totally unsafe and unreliable and will some day cause a major death and harm to others !!!! Dealer have new upgraded engines in stock that the company send to them they are fully aware of an impeding disaster but yet dont care about human life.

While driving heard Clicking/Knocking noise then low oil pressure light came on we pulled over and turned truck off then truck would not restart. truck was towed to Dealer which has check truck and decided it was a complete engine failure main bearing. Truck only had 45,000 mile on Engine

Engine failed at 142,000 miles. No prior indications or warning lights. Cam roller failed on cylinder #7 intake causing rod to throw through head cover, and valve to drop into cylinder #7 piston which damaged piston and disable engine. I have been advised that this was caused by the Variable Displacement mode the engine goes into when not under load, for better fuel economy. I have also been advised that this issue is not uncommon for these 5.7 Hemi engines which are advertised to last 200,000 to 300,000 miles. I had to replace engine and loss of use for 4 weeks. Not happy with Chrysler/Ram/Stellantis. I feel mislead/cheated.

The engine seized up at 52,517 miles on February 28, 2025. It was making loud noises on the freeway and was losing significant power. We exited the freeway trying to get to a safe location and the engine froze. I had the engine replaced and the check engine light came on after 40 miles!

While being driven, the ecodiesel engine had a faulty ball bearing that malfunctioned inside the engine. This ball bearing then shot through the middle of the engine and out the bottom of the engine. The service technician at our local dealership inspected the engine and compared this to a "bullet under too much pressure due to a fault within the engine." He then said we "were lucky the ball bearing hadn't shot upwards through the floorboards." Not only could we have been at risk, other passing vehicles could have been shot with the ball bearing; this event could have led to wrecks and possible fatalities. The engine was completely destroyed by this defective ball bearing and cannot be rebuilt. No lights or messages appeared after the ball bearing shot through, even though the oil began draining instantly. The truck was pulled over and turned off before all the oil drained to prevent damage to the engine, which was already destroyed without us knowing.

Was driving vehicle, power steering abruptly stopped working, pulled over vehicle to side of road, Turned off vehicle for two minutes, turned vehicle back on, power steering warning notification was now activated.... Unknown if it is still able to be inspected, calling shop tomorrow to verify.... Issue was confirmed by Independent Service Center.... Piece was inspected by Warranty Representative.... There were no warning, messages, or symptoms prior to failure. Issue happened abruptly....

Power steering turn off for 2 seconds if I hit a bump or in the middle of a turn. It will then sometimes turn right back on or just not turn back on. Recalls are on many rams for this issue but not on my truck specifically even though its the same issue other rams are having in the recall list

While driving and turning the steering wheel totally locks up momentarily. At this point there is no control of steering. The first time it happened I just missed a parked car when turning a corner. When I took it to the dealer the mechanic almost ran into a building driving it into the shop.

I am attempting to have my vehicle repaired for a defect in the rear axle that Recall U88 addresses and that my VIN falls within the range of. I am being told by the my local dealership and the FCA that my Vin has not active recalls. Does my vehicle fall within the recall? The recall is from 2018 the year it was built. Is it possible the system just doesnt go back that far anymore? Can someone please clarify. Thank you

Took excellent care of my truck, doing all recommended maintenance and replacing parts as they wear out. I had catastrophic engine failure at 86k miles. Was getting off a highway on an off ramp and got a low oil pressure warning and lose of power/no throttle response from the truck. Pulled over and oil was spewing out. Had it towed to a shop and they said the engine was seized up and there was metal in the oil, recommended full engine replacement.

Got 11 inches of snow tried to go to town and my truck wouldn’t move. Snow melted took it to dodge and they said it’s sounds like the clutch plate in the borg Warner 44-44 was possibly going out. A quick search of problems with that transfer case has hundreds of people having the same problem and I don’t off road it or plow snow. Was quoted $7500 to have it replaced. This could cause an accident if driving down the road or down county roads in rain, snow or ice.

I took my truck in because i have a tone wheel that needs to be replaced. my truck is getting recall 66a where the remedy is just a flash of the ecu. my tone wheel needs to be replaced and is covered under recall 73a. ram is not going to cover replacing this known issue because according to them my vin is only getting the code 66a, a known issue for this year truck and motor.

The backup camera randomly loses the image when backing up. It has happened many times, unpredictable, beginning in October. Then had a period of it happening quite often, now it's only been twice in the last couple of weeks. I have a couple of photos of the screen, but this app won't let me paste them in. I request my VIN be added to the recall for this issue.

Infotainment system within the car will randomly touch the screen and make distinctive changes that alter the cars driving state. Has called SOS system multiple times. Changed climate control settings and opens up backup cam while traveling forward and not in a parking state. Causes a distraction within the car for the driver and the passengers, and could potentially have harmful driving effects, including switching transmission settings or changing driving at all. I have a video that shows what is happening. No picture will do it justice.

My ABS and anti swerve systems have gone bad are not operational. There has been a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer for the 2500 & 3500. My local dealer in Melbourne Fl has said the module has been on back order for some time now! No clue if anything can be done but I don't feel safe driving in the rain, which it does most days here.

Failure of ABS control module with loss of traction control. After researching this issue shortly after having the ABS control module fail on my vehicle I found numerous posts about a faulty ABS module and hydraulic control module ending in part AA. This appears to be a widespread issue with the Ram 1500 pickups warranting a recall.

The antilock brake light and traction control light is on. also check trailer brake message comes on the vehicle display. I brought it to the dealer and there is no fix for the problem. There were 12 codes related to this issue and the speedometer goes to zero occasionally.

ABS CONTROL PUMP STOP WORKING DUE TO SEIZED ELECTRIC MOTOR BRUSHES ON CARRIERS. NO INCIDENTS HAPPENED BUT IT IS A COMMON FAIL ON THIS YEAR MODEL TRUCKS THAT CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. AT THE BEGINNING START DOING IT INTERMITTENLY WHILE DRIVING IT TO THE POINT WHERE IT COMPLTELY STOP WORKING AT ALL. DISABLING ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM.

I bought my vehicle 10 months ago the Ram 1500 rebel 2018 without knowing its suspensions issues when the cold weather started my air suspension issues started I wen to the dealer they couldn’t do anything about the price to fix is to much to pay at once out pocket for something much rams rebels go through in this case mine the worst part when I did the oil change and alignment the dealer stated that my suspension was to low to do an alignment I have to fix it first and then do the alignment and now if I don’t fix it I have to drive my car unsafely trough the road when honestly I think is something the manufacturer should fix or give me a discount for it’s manufacturer defect that all rams rebel go trough my front suspension is very low and that’s stoping me to get my alignment i never mistreated my car or even press the air suspension button to lower it it just happened when the cold weather started I think is something the manufacture could help me with or at least give me a discount or recall on the vehicle thank you.

Automatic Air Suspension defective. Truck back 2 wheels remains in "off road" mode while the front 2 tires remain in" plant" mode. Brought to carmax after owning for a month. they brought to dealer where is was serviced and fixed at the time. same issue is ongoing after now 2nd attempt to fix. replaced relay part and broke a week later. now having battery and alternator issues along with suspension is still broken.

this vehicle it's located at the New England area where winter eats metal. the links and axis axle are exposed to salt on winter months. see images attached. the whole underline vehicle should have a decent anti rust protective coat. the rear transmission cap should be replaced as well.

Chrysler's 3.0L diesel engine have a high-pressure fuel pump with an open recall on them. A HPFP failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system and cause potential fuel starvation. In January of 2023, I attempted to remedy the situation with a RAM dealership in Aptos, California. The attached email chain shows that for 6 months, I was unable to receive parts for my 3.0L diesel engine. After a change in job opportunities, I ended up in Palmdale late November 2023, where I continued to pursue remediation at the RAM of the West Dealership in Lancaster. While I do not have a email thread on this, if you visit their store on 43226 10th St W, Lancaster, CA 93534, you find that they have an open ticket for this same recall that has been open since February 2024. I have had an open recall for 2 years now, which has prevented me from receiving a new registration sticker. My current RAM 1500, still has a sticker from 2022 despite me paying for all of my registration requirements. This has led to 3 tickets and a threat from law enforcement that they can take my truck. This has gone on long enough and I am demanded a solution.

I have been getting regular mailings from Fiat Chrysler warning about the safety danger regarding the High pressure fuel pump for almost 2 years now. When I contact the dealer I am assured they will fix it when the fuel pump "grenades", but as long as the truck is running I shouldn't expect anything to be done. I have no fewer than three notices for the fuel pump and at least two for the "loss of crankshaft position" with no indications that anything will be done soon. Doing the math it looks like I can expect to be driving a safety hazard around for at least another 3-4 years and trying to sell it, like this, is unlikely. It may be a voluntary recall but it is a reflection of involuntary repairs and the fact I continue to get notices from Fiat Chrysler about how important this is shows that they are only going through the motions of safety and customer service.

Check Engine Light comes on and off on its own. OBD read that the engine is not getting up to normal temp. Had it diagnosed and was told that the 3.6 V6 has issues with the oil filter housing cracking/leaking. Somehow the housing cracking caused me to lose coolant. To have everything repaired would be $1400.

My truck only has 89,000 miles on it and yet it sustained a $5,000 engine malfunction. The engine was overheating and it turns out, that the cylinder heads failed. I have found this to be common with the 3.6 L engine that I have. This problem also led to the water pump failing and cylinder heads to need repaired. Basically the entire engine except the engine block is being repaired. The engine overheated multiple times. The first time I had the thermostat replaced. The second time it was low on coolant and topped off. Bu the 3rd time, they were able to diagnose this hiding problem that they said is extremely common in ram trucks with the 3.6 liter engine.

My warranty work is being delayed until my warranty expires. The dealership said I could take my vehicle to another location, but that would mean leaving it there for several weeks just to get it inspected. This other dealership is about an hour away, and I live alone, so this isn't feasible. Am I really expected to accommodate the dealership just to get them to honor my warranty? The engine is ticking at idle, which I understand could indicate a failing engine. My truck also has a transmission issue—it slams into first gear when coming to a stop. The dealership looked at it early this summer but said I’d be without a vehicle for a significant amount of time if I left it, and they didn’t offer a loaner. This truck was originally purchased for $38,000 and came with a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) warranty. Additionally, the headliner leaked within the first few months of ownership. The dealership (Champion Ram of Athens, Alabama) tried to get me to pay a third-party contractor for the repair, but it was clear they were trying to sell me unnecessary services, so I declined. I took it to a body shop friend, who found that the cab seams were leaking due to what seemed to be a manufacturing defect. This issue causes moisture to affect the 10-inch Uconnect system, which malfunctions when exposed to water. My warranty expires very soon, and it feels like they're just trying to avoid fixing these issues. The truck currently has around 93,000 miles on it. Please help in any way you can, because getting help from Ram has been like chasing a chipmunk!

I bought my ram 1500 in January 2019 brand new from the Sahara Dodge in Las Vegas. I have been up to date on my services and have brought the vehicle in to a Dodge dealership if i ever had an issue. It currently has approx 78k miles on it. ON [XXX] I was driving on the freeway going approximate 65MPH and my truck started shaking really bad. While it was shaking I started to see oil spraying from my engine. As I was trying to slow down my truck just shut off in a travel lane and NHP troopers had to push me out of oncoming traffic… thankfully no one was Injured. I had the vehicle towed to desert 215 superstore dealership located at 8030 Rafael Rivera Way, Las Vegas, NV 89113. The service advisor did not call for several days, so I contacted the manager Derek Davis. Derek advised me that my crankshaft had snapped in half, causing a piston rod to snap, which poked a hole through my engine. I need an entire new engine. I do have a recall on my vehicle 66A (reference the crankshaft sensor) which i tried to get repaired but I was told to wait by the prestidge Dodge dealership in Las Vegas because i had two recalls on my vehicle and they had to order the parts. This power train failure is directly related to the recall I had with the crankshaft sensor. With several weeks of me calling for updates, the service advisor asked me to provide service records to provide to “corporate” to see if they will cover the repairs. On 7/23/24, service advisor James Cruz called and told me that they are not going to cover it. I asked “even though I need a repair directly related to the recall” and he said yes. He then provided me the phone number to ram cares to call them directly. On 7/24/23, I received a phone call from Chrysler corporate and provided all the information to them, but they are telling me the dealership knows what to do with “recall repairs” but she is still trying to find out… The dealership is extremely hard to get information or help from. Cruise control on 65mph going down hill. Transmission dropped into a lower gear. Vehicle immediately slowed down immediately by probably 20-30 mph. Everything in vehicle was thrown forward. I struggled to keep control and thought I was going to roll and crash off of roadway, or hit another vehicle. This was not a problem for two years, until June of this year. Driven the same stretch of highway a dozen times without incident. 21,000 on vehicle now. I took the RAM tech for a ride to reproduce the incident. Did it on a small hill at 25-30mph and reproduced the problem several times at the same location of the hill. Transmission drops into lower gear, makes a kind of grinding or similar noise. Then it stays in this lower gear straining until the brake is pushed to turn cruise off. Told him of losing control on big hill and nearly crashing. No warning lights or warning of any kind. Their response that a slight speed change is BS. 65mph to 30 or what it was in a couple seconds is not slight. It also states temporary. Even with the tech seeing it, it is not temporary. You have to push the brake to get it back into the right gear. At 30mph on test runs. Losing control of vehicle and they come up with this. You can inspect my vehicle. No sales rep ever mentioned that you shouldn't use cruise control on a hill. What a scam. Not happy with my RAM purchase now.

I was traveling down a rural road with a 45 MPH speed limit, During acceleration the throttle on my truck stayed open, it accelerated to approximately 60 MPH and would not stop accelerating until I forcibly pressed the brake pedal. The truck was still accelerating even when I pressed the brake pedal. A couple seconds passed and then it finally depressed the accelerator pedal and I was able to slow down. The Throttle error light came on for around 20 seconds and then shut back off and the vehicle returned to normal. I am taking it to a dealership for review and hopeful fix of the issue.

The strap that holds the gas tank has come loose from the frame causing the gas tank to drop. I took it to a mechanic for repairs and he told me that he was unable to repair it because the the frame was rotted out and there was no where to hook it back to the frame. He told me that there was a recall on my truck I should reach out to you for repairs.

Tailgate on truck will randomly open, including while driving. This can cause debris in the bed to become unsecure and fall out of the back. I have had this happen several times in the past. Most recently it fell while I had my trailer on cause damage to the tailgate which will now need replacing.

Yes, the vehicle is inspection. If you're going around a curve at 55 miles an hour all of a sudden the electric power steering will come back on and jerk. Probably not explaining it well but extremely dangerous in my opinion and others. It is intermittent. The dealers say there is no recall, but the Internet says there is so I don't know who to believe. It has not been inspected. No there were no warnings just work sometimes and doesn't work sometimes and it's worse than the old days with no power steering. You can hardly turn the wheel when it's not working.

on or about 7/29/2025 while driving at approx 45 mph (2018 Dodge Ram Rebel) - multiple dash warning lights came on. Parked at safe location. Vehicle would not start and again multiple dash lights came on, steering wheel tight. Had vehicle towed to Reedman Dodge Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Service Rep said vehicles needs replaced drive train and other electrical work costing $5,000.00. Vehicle has less than 100,000 miles (original owner) serviced regularly. Reedman Dodge said no recalls for this but is aware of multiple complaints and "class action" lawsuit on this.

While driving through a hard rain and some standing water (which was totally unavoidable)one afternoon, I began having Electric power steering problems. It stared off with grinding noises for a couple days and on the day i took it to be checked is when I loss all power steering with EPS warning light engaged. After searching for the part continuously, through manufacturers and auto parts dealers, I was told countless times that it was on national back order. So, weeks passed with no luck and finally found one from a used auto parts which cost me 1k plus labor. About 2 months later, almost same scenario all over again. Loss power steering while driving. Now im back in the same situation again but this time different mechanic has one on order for me but a new steering rack which is now costing me $3000 for parts labor programing and wheel alignment which is needed after replacing rack. Now the insurance adjuster is telling me that from his research this is a huge ongoing problem with RAM trucks. Since 2018 when I got my truck i haven't had any issues until now twice within two months with this EPS rack.Ram needs this fixed immediately. It is a major safety hazard, inconvenience, and a big financial burden that insurance won't cover

The radio/camera screen is delaminating causing a bubble on the top of the screen. The bubble is causing the touch screen to randomly activate to different systems without being touched. If the rear view camara is activated when backing up it turns off and on causing a dangerous situation. The screen also constantly switches to different systems while operating the vehicle causing a major distraction.

I am having an issue with the radio screen on the vehicle is delaminating. This isn't repair able buy putting a new screen or screen protector on. the only thing is to replace the radio. the radio has the reverse camera connected to it and the radio controls the heating and AC. the radio also controls or changes settings in regards to electric brakes for trailers as well as lighting and etc. This is a major safety concern as when the delamination gets to the point of full delamination it tends to short the radio out. Shorting the radio out can cause the AC and heating which in the current weather climates becomes dangerous to be in. (heat stroke, frost bite, etc). the reverse camera also would be disabled which can be a potential danger to anything in rear of vehicle that isn't seen in the mirrors. Also a device shorting out also can cause fire. FCA is aware of the issue and is only replacing vehicles under the original 36,000 warranty. for everyone else it is Over $1,800 closer to $2,500 to have issue fixed that should be a recall issue.

Traveling on highway, heard noise coming from the engine. I was close to an off ramp and got off the highway. In the process of getting on the off ramp alarms went off. Turned on the flashers, came to a stop partially on the shoulder. Turned off the vehicle, turned it back on and it started right up. Turned to head into town to get some place safe to check the issue and all the alarms went off again. Put the car into neutral and coasted down the road to a local restaurant parking lot. Once safely parked, I opened the hood and my engine was on fire. I ran to the window of the restaurant to get a fire extinguisher and was able to put out the fire quickly. I contacted my insurance carrier and went through the process of repairing the truck. One body shop got it back up and running. Another shop fixed the cosmetic issues. However insurance would only fix the damage from the fire, not the cause of the fire. The truck has been throwing a code stating the EGR Cooler is not functioning properly. Stellantis sent out an independent investigator, however he wasn't allowed to look at the pictures that the body shop took after the incident. Since the truck was put back together and the cosmetic damage was repaired, he couldn't tell the cause of the fire. This EGR Cooler was supposed to be replaced during the recall (NHTSA Campaign # 19V757000), however I don't believe it was. Currently mine is cracked and supposedly the parts are on backorder. So there may need to be a recall to the recall.

The engine ticking constantly as well as an electrical issue with the radio, heating, ac unit, control panel in dash that has all of this in it constantly changes goes haywire, won't let you do anything to fix it. It flips from setting to setting as well as different screens and the cargo lights have a habit of staying on an draining the battery. The engine tick has been like that for i dont know how long but it seems all the ram 1500s have that same tick, the control panel started acting crazy about 2 months ago, the battery being drained this is the 2nd battery I bought in 2 yrs due to this issue. Not sure about the cargo light when that started. It's pretty crappy we use out hard earned money to purchase what we believe to be a great vehicle only to find its made so bad to have all these issues and no recalls on them. I'm sure I speak for all ram 1500 owners ram should take better care of their customers and the issues in which their products malfunction and fix the issue instead of leaving us high an dry, broke down along the road due to poor production. I'd like to see these issues fixed but not on my experience since the issue comes straight from the manufacturer.

I INSTINCTIVELY TRIED TO START IT WHILE IT WAS MOVING, CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO GO OFF WHILE I'M DOING 75 MPH. AT THAT POINT STARTED TO PULL OVER, THOUGH I COULD BARELY SEE THE CONCRETE DIVIDER AND HAD TRIED TO KEEP THE TIRES ON THE RUMBLE STRIP AS I SLOWED DOWN UNTIL I COULD SEE THE BARRIER BETTER. ONCE PULLED OVER, I GOT IT IN PARK, STARTED IT, AND WAS ABLE TO GET HOME WITH NO ISSUE. WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF THE DASH LIT UP THEN WENT OUT LIKE IT WOULD WHEN YOU TURN THE IGNITION OFF. IT'S A MIRACLE WE DID NOT HIT THE DIVIDER OR THE SEMI BEHIND US DIDN'T HIT US.

Blower motor stopped working so couldn't get window to defrost so I could see to drive. Replaced blower motor, still didn't work took it to shop they said connector to the TIPM module had melted so had it replaced plus asked mechanic to check all wiring, grounds,ect to see why blower motor not working. Pd over 700. To have this done blower motor worked for 1 day now doesn't work again. I believe the TIPM module is a safety and health hazard besides all the other stuff it messes up that just drive you crazy so it's also a mental health hazard. It a manufacturer defect on almost all there vehicles, not just the few they did put a Tipm recall on. Ty

The dash command center for the vehicle failed and has become delaminated and cannot be programmed for any functions such as hands free, defrosting, heating, clock, navigation, voice command or any other related necessary safety features. The windshield sweats and frosts over on the inside at temperatures below freezing with no way to defrost without command controls. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and the problem documented but nothing was offered other than replace command center at owners expense. There were no warnings of anything going wrong.

The glue that holds the screen on the uconnect screen is melting causing unwanted buttons to be pushed. I will be driving and the radio will start changing channels causing a distraction. Also when driving in cold weather I can’t use the heater or defroster because it automatically turns on the air conditioner.

My 2018 ram 1500 big horn, began showing lights on dash to fix the trailer brakes, and ABS. The sensors was replaced yet the problem persists. When I called RAM they stated the recall was vin specific. Yet the 2018 ram 2500-5500 were recalled for bad abs system, the 2019 rams 1500s were recalled for the same issue. Ram told me that my truck did display all the issues their recall is doing. That was 3 weeks ago and never heard back from them.

Intermittently loses ABS, traction control, and cruise control. Now throwing multiple error codes but does not "store" any codes. Lights/warnings/chimes are intermittent and random. Upgraded parts to repair are unavailable. This is a known problem with these vehicles. Most recently randomly throws service shifter codes and vehicle shifts into neutral with no warning. Main vehicle computer has been replaced, did not remedy the problem(s).

Our ABS Traction control light as well as the emergency brake light are illuminated at all times. Along with the traction control. The message states to service braking system - service trailer braking system with an audible ongoing chime. Dealership won’t fix this stating dodge will not sell them the necessary part because it is a faulty part. This is a safety issue. We live in Wyoming where we get an incredible amount of snow. After researching this issue it has become apparent we are not in a minority - there seems to be dodge owners across the county experiencing this exact issue to no avail. No recalls for this very prevalent issue. I have filed a case with dodge cares and I have had no contact.

I have received 2 service messages on the vehicle. The first says, "Service Electronic Braking System" and the second says, "Service Trailer Brake". Apparently, this is an ongoing and known issue to FCA with 2014-2018 trucks and they have refused to issue a recall. This issue is occurring in many trucks with very low miles. My truck has 28,000 miles and is only 4 days out of warranty, yet now I as the consumer am expected to pay for replacement of ABS components that are breaking extremely prematurely. This should be a recall, due to the long term and widespread nature of the known issue.

Started experiencing a misfire shaking on my ram 1500, took it to the shop for a cylinder 5 misfire, the truck has 67,xxx miles, they're saying it was cylinder 5 lifter failure, apparently also camshaft. From what I've read online this is a reoccurring problem, why would someone want to pay 30k+ for a truck or car that won't last more than 70k miles... now the dealership says they don't know how much money its gonna cost and the camshaft is back ordered..

There is a common well known problem with the Ram trucks that have the Hemi Engine. The passenger side cast iron exhaust manifold will warp and break the steel bolts off the aluminum head. This creates a hazardous exhaust leak where fumes are entering the cab. Also in states that require a state safety inspection it will fail because of the leak. It is a manufacturer safety defect and should be repaired by the manufacturer and not have the customer foot the bill for a bad design.

WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK TO HAVE A NICE AND RELIABLE CAR TO TRANSPORT OUR 1 YEAR OLD CHILD IN. OUR LAST 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LEFT US STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RODE WITH OUR KID DUE TO THE COMPUTER TELLING ALL INJECTORS TO STAY OPEN AND RESULTING IN THE MOTOR HYDRO-LOCKING ITSELF. WE TOOK OUT FINANCING TO PURCHASE AND THE GREAT 2018 ECODIESEL DODGE RAM. JUST 2 MONTHS INTO OWNING THIS MY WIFE LOST ALL POWER GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY. SHE REPORTED MASS AMOUNT OF SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THANK GOD SHE MANAGED TO MERGE OVER ALL LANES AND TO THE BEST OF HER ABILITY WITH NO POWER GOT THE TRUCK OFF THE HIGHWAY BY ABOUT 5 FEET AND THEN QUICKLY TURNED OFF THE MOTOR AND DISTANCED HER SELF FROM THE TRUCK. SHE CALLED ME IN COMPLETE PANIC. THIS STORY WOULD BE MUCH DIFFERENT IF OUR CHILD WAS STRAPPED INTO THE CAR SEAT ON THIS PARTICULAR DRIVE. SINCE THIS OCCURRENCE THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED IN OVER FLOW AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND CONTINUES TO SIT UNTIL FIAT DISCOVERS A CORRECT REPAIR TO THE CRACKING EGR. The driver-side seatbelt material ripped in half so there is no longer a seat belt on the driver's side of the vehicle. One week later the passenger side ripped in half in the same spot on the belt. Neither have been repaired or replaced due to lack of money and because there was no accident insurance will not cover them.

Passenger seatbelt in front will not latch happened this spring. The car dealership had my truck for 3 weeks the begining of June to clean exhaust filter and find out why every warning light on the dash was on and did not fix the seatbelt or the other two recalls according to what I pull up with my vin. I have 4 children aged 4-12 this is unacceptable.

The passenger seat belt buckle was rough or sharp enough that it cut into the belt fabric. It would ride up the belt when retracting and hit the upper limit of travel and cut into the belt. For safety I needed to replace the belt with a new one. I saved the torn seat belt assembly and my receipt for the repair.

I am writing to your Company regarding the unavailability of the ABS Control Module for 2017 Ram 1500 trucks. My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation, in that the lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes resulting from this malfunction. I have tried every source in existence in my efforts to find a replacement module, but I have been totally unsuccessful. I have been told by one of your Customer Service representatives that your Company is “…unable to maintain a complete inventory for an indefinite period and the lower the demand, the less likely it is we will have stocked parts. As such, the part you are requesting is no longer in our inventory.” I am aware of a current class action suit against your company for the RAM 2500 & 3500 for the same issue. I guess the owners’ lives of the Ram 1500 are not as important. Wilson, et al. v. FCA US LLC Case No. 4:22-cv-0044 This is absolutely appalling. Apparently, several thousand Ram owners who paid tens of thousands of dollars for their trucks are not important enough to your Company to warrant providing the necessary support for their products. I am thoroughly disgusted with the disrespect and value you place on the safety and lives of your truck owners and the other drivers on the road who are in danger due to the lack of support or concern you have for your “valued? owners”.

There are countless number of individuals like myself who have paid good hard earned money to own these trucks only to find out that everyone I know has endured the issue with the ABS module it seems. And online that's all you can find now me owning other manufactured vehicles I've never encountered this issue before. But I don't understand how this is a known part that will fail and when it does fail it's up to the owners of the truck to have to pay out of pocket thousands of dollars to get it repaired after spending more than $50,000 to be able to own the truck. I can't imagine the other owners who are not able to afford these costly expenses to get repaired immediately and are forced to continue driving on the road ways endangering themselves and other innocent lives on the road ways

I have a 2018 RAM 1500 that keeps flashing for the code for the ABS module. This malfunction has completely disabled the ABS system. My mechanic feels that this is a genuine safety hazard and the module needs to be replaced. RAM says the parts have been on back order for over a year. I'm on several different RAM/DOGE message boards and there are plenty of trucks that are having this issue and are told the same that the part is on back order for over a year. Please hold RAM/DODGE accountable for this obvious defect. Thank you for your time.

Had the High flow fuel pump Changed and less than 400 miles had a catastrophic failure. Had to pay for a tow was told nothing is under warranty, even though it was caused all by a faulty fuel pump and caused other issues and was told by Stalantis that they do not cover calamity damage had to pay for PCM and injectors. My truck is still not fixed. My engine light is still on, brought it to three dealerships and nobody can figure it out. Also the deaf system is not functioning properly and had it replaced a 20,000 and at 70,000.

When driving the check engine light came on, the car slowed up and would not start after. I had the truck towed to the dealership. The service manager told me the high pressure fuel pump shattered and shot metal debris through the system. The High Pressure Fuel Pump is not available even though it is on a recall list. I contacted Chrysler customer service, the representative essentially told me there was nothing they can do because the part was not available.

Have read other complaints of similar problems. The problem started with our 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 several weeks ago with the navigation system changing screens to points of interest, then yesterday everything messed up. Upon starting the truck the touch screen seems to work fine for about five minutes, then it starts jumping around from one screen to another. It randomly tries to route a destination, the radio changes stations, tries to call phone numbers, and the climate controls jump all over the place. No heat, no air, and most alarming is that the defroster does not work. The problem persists while sitting still and driving. There may be other problems, but the touch screen does not respond. All this is very distracting and dangerous.

The UConnect is malfunctioning, and my vehicle is available for inspect upon request. However I have many videos of the issue. It is exhibiting a “phantom touch” where it will click on buttons and change settings. My life was in danger when it would turn my windshield defrost on and off/change the temperature causing the windshield to fog up. It completely binds me while driving and I have to attempt to pull over and manually wipe the windshield. It is also constantly pressing the SOS button and calling 911, and I have to explain to the dispatcher that it is not an emergency/my truck is calling them (it’s a federal crime to call 911 repeatedly without an emergency). It has been confirmed by public forums and by another known customer. I am having it confirmed by the dealership today. The item has been inspected by those in the vehicle and getting inspected by the dealer. There is no lights or error code associated with the issue.

U-Connect, navigation, back up camera, screen, ac/heat controls, phone, radio, wipers, seat vents/heat all effected....navigation will not stop navigating when canceling route, back up camera stayed on over 3 hrs while I was driving which lit up everything behind me, phone when connected calls random numbers when I'm not even trying to make calls, radio jumps from station to station with out being touched. Wipers periodically come on by themselves when not raining and not turned to come on, a constant cluck when radio is jumping from station to station. Seat controls just decide when the want to heat/cool seats on their own. This should be a safety recall as trying to keep the phone from dialing 911 and other numbers you must take your eyes off the road, the back up camera remaining on consistently is dangerous as well. Dealer says about 1500 to change it out.. Recall this system please!!

The radio which is a 8.4 uconnect screen had started to delaminate cause the screen to randomly select items and constantly switch back and forth from one screen media to hvac controls and apps, it automatically turn my heated and cooled seats on and off and again and had even turned my auto dimmer for my rear view mirror off, and when I tried to turn it back on it would select the auto dimmer like I was touching the screen when I was not. This mind you while I was trying to drive at night making a huge distraction. It constantly hits items on the screen which brings up dialog which requires me to look down away from the road.

The screen, used for HVAC functions, seat heating/cooling, radio, hands-free bluetooth, backup camera, etc, becoming delaminated. Screen will randomly think that it is being pressed and disconnect phone calls, modify HVAC levels, and change radio stations. PASSENGER SIDE HEATED SEAT PREMATURELY TURNS OFF. DEALER STATES IT IS TURNING OFF BECAUSE IT IS REACHING MAX TEMPERATURE SO THE SAFETY MECHANISM IS SHUTTING IT DOWN SO IT DOES NOT BURN UP WIRING. ON OCTOBER 18, 2018, AFTER DRIVING OUR 2018 RAM 1500 A SHORT DISTANCE ON CITY STREETS, MY SON PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT WHEN THE LEFT REAR TIRE (GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A, P27560R20) SUDDENLY WENT COMPLETELY FLAT. HE HAD NOT HIT ANYTHING, AND THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT JUST CAME ON PRIOR TO THE TIRE GOING FLAT. THE TIRES WERE ON THE TRUCK WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED NEW EARLIER THIS YEAR, AND HAD APPROXIMATELY 11,000 MILES ON THEM. THE TIRE HAD SPLIT ALONG THE SIDE WALL CLOSE TO THE RIM, AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE TIRE WAS TAKEN TO A DODGE DEALER, WHO SAID THE TIRE WOULDN'T BE COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH NOTHING HAD BEEN HIT TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE. A CLAIM WILL BE FILED WITH INSURANCE.

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, his granddaughter smelled an abnormal burning odor coming from the vehicle. The contact looked out of the rearview mirror and saw heavy white smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact immediately pulled over and had the occupants exit the vehicle. The contact checked under the hood as white smoke filled the engine compartment. The contact stated that there were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. Due to the failure, the contact initially had the vehicle towed to the residence before it was later towed to an independent mechanic. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the mechanic discovered coolant had leaked into the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler. The mechanic also discovered that the vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); and the contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The contact was informed that any repair to the vehicle would be an out-of-pocket expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a cracked particulate filter. The contact was advised that the particulate filter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the part to complete the repair was on backorder. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of coolant. The contact stated that the coolant level was over one gallon low within a two-week period. The vehicle was inspected for leaks, and it was confirmed that there were no leaks found. Request for investigation and recall of 2018 Dodge Ram Tradesman vehicles due to exhaust manifold defects, Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning causing driver impairment, indirect impact on steering system functionality, and documented cases of accidents. I became disoriented, severe headache, drowsy, confused, steering wheel vibrated, pulled over got out of vehicle set on side of road until feeling better. The manifold bolt broke leaking co2 into canon. I had no ideal and could have passed out causing death and potentially death to others. Was on highway doing 65mph. This is a common documented issue and must be addressed with Dodge ram trucks. Makes no since with all the evidence it has not been corrected already.

The electronic trailer brake system, anti-lock braking system, and electronics traction control system lights activate upon driving the vehicle. The cruise control is disabled when these warning lights come on as well. I've been informed by an ASE certified mechanic that the abs control module needs replacement. I've learned this is a known issue for my and similar Ram trucks and that Stellantis has the part on back order while it is in "engineering review". If my traction control, anti-lock brake system, and electronic trailer braking system is affected by a failed abs control module and it is a known issue across many vehicles and the part is in "engineering review" I belief this should be covered by Ram under a recall.

We may have started a claim already reference number 1592940, this is the first I've been able to write out the details. On [XXX] we were driving through South Dakota on the freeway; which was cold but dry and clear with no hazards and within a mile everything happened or about 45-60 seconds First, it was like the gas wasn't getting through because RPMS went from normal to almost 5000. From there, my husband started losing driving power, so he started trying to pull over. Within seconds it seemed to lose engine power as were were pulling over to the shoulder. As we were pulling over the truck gave "loss oil pressure" and then died luckily as we just made it to the shoulder. If my husband had hesitated longer we would have been stalled on the freeway not able to start the truck again. The truck was towed to a local Ford dealership. The Mechanic said it may be a Ram recall but dropped it there and did not continue researching. We called the nearby Ram dealership where the mechanic said over the phone with out actually seeing the truck that is was not a recall. No one else has yet inspected the truck. I first need to know where I'm allowed to go to find an unbiased diagnoses and fair assessment. This was and is the only issue we have ever had with this truck. Maintenance was scheduled regularly, it was well taken care of and only had 110,000 miles on it. We have already had to pay for the towing to the dealership and also the towing from the dealership in South Dakota to home in Washington State to try and get this figured out. I OWN A 2018 ECODIESEL AND WHEN MY TRUCK WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY DID AN UPDATE CALLED AEM OR V08 EMISSIONS UPDATE. AFTER THE UPDATE MY TRUCK NO LONGER ACCELERATES FROM A STOP. IT CRAWLS AT UNDER 10MPH EXTREMELY SLOW APROX. 90 SECONDS UNTIL THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS I HAVE BEEN IN 3 NEAR ACCIDENTS DUE TO A LACK OF ACCELERATION. IN ADDITION TO THE LACK OF ACCELERATION I NOW GET MUCH LOWER GAS MILEAGE. PRIOR TO THE UPDATE I WAS GETTING 27 MPG, NOW THE BEST I HAVE GOTTEN WAS 19MPG. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW, TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE THAT GET GOOD GAS MILEAGE AND DRIVES THEY WAY IT DID WHEN I TEST DROVE IT, WHICH IS THE REASON WHY I PURCHASED IT. ONLY FOR THEM TO COMPLETELY CHANGE MY VEHICLE AFTER THE PURCHASE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION IS TO ME A BAIT AND SWITCH.

Occasionally after driving 15-30 minutes my dash gives me a quick "auto park brake disengaged" notification and my speedometer goes to 0 while I'm driving, then everything goes back to normal. (Event happens approximately every 3rd to 5th time I drive the vehicle) An additional event has occurred after driving a while my entire dash and screen will blackout as well. I've researched the internet and found that numerous people have the same issue or similar. I've gone to Dealerships and get no help whatsoever, they act like I'm wasting there time and basically ignore me, they said since I can't make the issue happen they can't look at it. I've read the same responses across the internet by other 2018 Ram 1500 owners, it's obvious we don't have a voice to this safety concern. Please look into this matter before someone gets hurt. I've owned the truck for approximately 2 months, I bought it from a dealership, the truck is in excellent condition with no major repairs. Definitely an electrical/computer issue.

In June of 2023, I was driving home and the vehicle became unresponsive, but still powered on. I was able to steer it partially to the side of the road. The gas pedal was unresponsive, all electrical was unresponsive and it also would not turn off. I called my husband, when he arrived about 20 minutes later we were finally able to turn off the truck, but electrical was still unresponsive so the windows would not roll up. I had just gotten off the freeway, about a mile, and was lucky to be in a residential area or I would have been unable to drive on the freeway. This is a major safely issue and I also had my 9 year old daughter in the truck with me. No warning messages or any symptoms prior to the problem/failure. We called and had it towed to our local trusted mechanic, Gray's Tire and Auto. It took about a month for Gray's to figure out the problem. They were also in conversations with the local RAM Dealer who did not know how to fix the problem. It ended up being recall [XXX] that was the issue. Cam Shaft (RECALL) sensor failure / tone wheel per the dealership. Truck lost all power descending off a mountain / steep grade. Lost steering, brakes, engine power. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership. Truck will not start, even have installing new parts. It was towed in to the dealer on 12/2/23. I am not able to get a solid answer on what needs to be done. Communication has been very poor on the entire situation.

I filed previously. The truck just lost power, I was on highway fastin fast lane. Lost power had to cross 3 lanes of high speed traffic. Dangerous. The tone wheel broke. I had to get towed to repair shop 3/8/23, mileage 38171. No parts available till 4/21/23. No rental car? Stranded. NHTSA issued recall. I tried several times to get reimbursed for repairs $1,168.90. I just get the run around. It still needs software update. Then there is an outstanding recall X46, no repair options. Nothing available. I don’t trust Dodge.

I was driving my 2018 RAM at night when it suddenly started to smoke. I had to stop in the middle of the road to find coolant had splattered on part of the engine and was leaking. Upon further inspection this morning I found there is a missing bolt on the radiator and it is cracked and a hose apparently burst. Called the dealership and states this is not covered by the warranty since I’m on my 4th year and the type of part that it is, however, the only people to have ever worked on this vehicle have been the dealership and they have never had to do any repairs on the car, only regular oil changes and a warranty repair to my Uconnect screen that was faulty. There is no reason why this would have happened other thanks faulty parts. Upon investigating further I found that 2018 Rams with Ecodiesel engine(I have a gas engine) have a recall for the same issue and many people are having issues getting repair issues due to parts. I have also found other people with gas engines with similar issues. I’d like to have some resolution with the manufacturer do they may cover their issue, not have to pay out of pocket for this.

The rear window is defective from the manufacturer. My vehicle is taking in water from a faulty design where the window drain does work and pushes water back into the vehicle. I have young kids and there is mold everywhere. The MOPAR agent admitted the window is defective but only some of the VINs were offered a free replacement. Clearly, they didn't identify all vehicles because there are numerous complaints on forums and on NHTSA website. Please do the right thing and issue a recall and give your loyal customers their money back for your faulty design. In addition, there is no ETA on the replacement glass which means that this is a widespread issue and MOPAR can't manufacture enough replacement rear windows.

I BOUGHT MY 2018 RAM 1500 EXPRESS CREW CAB 4X4 A YEAR AND 2 MONTHS AGO. IN ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE I GOT A STAR-SHAPED CRACK ON MY WINDSHIELD. IN A FEW DAYS I SLIGHTLY HIT THE WINDSHIELD WITH A WIPER TO REMOVE A SNOW FROM IT. AND THAT STAR-SHAPED CRACK SUDDENLY WENT ALL WAY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD, FROM SIDE TO SIDE. I REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WITH THE OEM MOPAR ONE, IDENTICAL TO THE FACTORY ONE. A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A LITTLE TOWN WHERE I WORK, MAINTAINING THE SPEED OF 30 MPH DUE TO THE LIMIT. SUDDENLY I HEARD SOMETHING (VERY FAR FROM SIGNIFICANTLY HEAVY) HIT MY WINDSHIELD. I'VE GOT A 3-4 INCH CRACK FROM THE BOTTOM RIGHT EDGE (PASSENGER SIDE). I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND IT'S REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME TO GO TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP SHOWED ME THERE IS A TINY, NEEDLE TIP SIZE ROCK CHIP, ABOUT A COUPLE INCHES FROM THE EDGE ON THE CRACK. HE SAID, THERE'S NO ISSUE WITH ANYTHING ABOUT THE WINDSHIELD ITSELF AND STATED THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE IT ON MY OWN. I CALLED BACK THE MANUFACTURER AND GOT THE RESPONSE THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME IN SUCH A CASE. BUT AS A PART OF THE COMMON SENSE: IF THE WINDSHIELD GETS CRACKED SO EASILY, FROM THE CONSUMER'S STANDPOINT THERE'S AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SIGNIFICANT DEVIATION FROM THE DEFINED QUALITY AND SAFETY STANDARDS.

The 8.4" UConnect Screen has a bubble along the whole top of the screen due to delamination. This causes the stations to randomly jump from station to station and if you make a phone call with the connected phone, after you hang up, it will start calling random people. You can disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for a few minutes, but it starts back within a day. Upon Google search, there are multiple issues with this same problem with this screen along all lines of Dodge and Chrysler products.

The Uconnect 8.4" has a delamination problem that causes the screen to act like it's being touched. This causes distractions because the seats vent/heat turn on/off. The radio station changes frequently. It makes calls from your phone using Bluetooth and the only way to stop it is by using your phone which causes distractions. This is a known problem based on Google searches and Ram/Chrysler should fix this issue before ppl are injured/killed while driving. The u connect screen controls, climate, hazard lights, phone, and other apps which is a huge problem and safety issue.

DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. HAD USED CRUISE CONTROL AT 70MPH ON FREEWAY, BUT HAD NOT USED IT IN TOWN. I WAS DECELERATING FOR A STOP LIGHT, WHEN IT TURNED GREEN. I WAS PROBABLY TRAVELING 15-20MPH WHEN I BEGAN ACCELERATING AGAIN. I HEARD A CLICK, LIKE A RELAY OR SOLENOID AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AS IF I HAD HIT "RESUME". LAST SPEED PRESET HAD BEEN 70MPH. I WAS ABLE TO CANCEL THE ACCELERATION BY HITTING THE BRAKES, BUT I NEARLY REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I DID NOT HIT "RESUME" BY MISTAKE EITHER, AS MY HAND WAS NOT ON THE STEERING WHEEL NEAR THE BUTTONS. IN FURTHER TROUBLESHOOTING, THE CRUISE WILL NOT ENGAGE BELOW 25MPH. IF RESUME IS PUSHED BEFORE PASSING 25MPH (DURING ACCELERATION), THEN NOTHING HAPPENS.

The uconnect 8.4 radio screen started delaminating. The delamination caused the screen to randomly turn things on/off, call random people including the emergency number, radio switching channels and changing volume, park assist warning buzzer to stop working, back-up camera ceased working and numerous other symptoms. Any, or all of these symptoms, will distract a driver to the point where an accident could occur. This has not only happened to me but thousands of other owners who own uconnect radios in their vehicles. The company, in my case FCA, has ignored this problem and has refused to repair or replace the radio. Clearly this is a faulty part that needs to be replaced before someone gets seriously injured or killed.

Steering Gear Rack - Steering control rapidly diminished over a short amount of time. Initially was okay but steering began to intermittently stick and wouldn’t self-center. Issue became nearly full-time within a month. Got to the point that it required a ‘tug’ to re-center. Took to a shop to additionally find that the boot clamps had broke themselves loose, causing the boots to separate and freely slide around. Driver seat airbag - service airbag system (?) warning on dash. Loose/bad connector in center console according to a mechanic leading to potential airbag deployment failure. Both of these issues are reportedly exceedingly common among RAMs, with steering gear racks extending as far back as 2013, and the airbag situation commonly effecting at least the ‘18 models. Additionally, Rear axle (passenger-side) - Shop discovered at the same time a seal had failed causing axle lubricant to spray onto hub causing extreme risk to breaking system due to the spray. Potentially lead to corrosion of caliper and caused advanced rusting resulting in wheel not spinning freely/easily. Driver side works as should. Warranty refused coverage of steering gear rack due to ‘improper installation’, as they claim, due to boots having separated from their respective mount points and loose clamps. Dates and mileage are rough estimates at time of on-set.

The abs keeps randomly disabling and then coming back on. When this happens, the cruise control is canceled which causes a sudden change in speed unexpectedly. Also, the 4x4 gets disabled. I believe the issue is this: hydraulic control unit can malfunction, impacting ABS, electronic stability control, and traction control performance software issue in the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module that can disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

The radio/HVAC screen is malfunctioning. It still works but the screen is delaminating and the screen thinks that someone is touching the screen and there is no control over what it touches or controls. Radio is working but the channels change so fast by themselves that you cannot listen to anything. Cannot change any vehicle settings - such as lighting. Same with the HVAC system. When i click into the climate controls, the screen controls itseld doing whatever it wants. I have no control over the climate. THIS IS THE SAFETY ISSUE. If i am driving my vehicle and my windshield starts to fog up, my defroster is not accessible. I can hit the physical defrost button but there is no saying if the screen will not click the defroster off by itself. This puts myself and all motorists around me at risk if I cannot control a fogged windshield. I get distracted while driving trying to force the climae control to stay on my selected setting when it is to no success. I brought this into MIG Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram in Bellefontaine Ohio and they confirmed the problem and quoted me saying, "vehicle needs a replacement radio". I will upload a copy of this quote. We have police in the family that has seen the issue and they are also concerned of the safety hazard this presents. I would be happy to obtain a letter from the local PD and my insurance about this matter. No warning lamps or messages. I noticed a while ago that my screen looked like it was bubbling or delaminating but it never caused issue until one day the screen started clicking around like crazy on its own and has done it ever since. I started to look up forums for this issue and this sounds to be an extremely common issue in 2018 Ram's. My good buddy also has an 18 Ram and has the same issue, although, not as severe.

Intermittently loses ABS, traction control, and cruise control. Now throwing multiple error codes but does not "store" any codes. Lights/warnings/chimes are intermittent and random. Windshield wipers will intermittently come on as well. This is a known problem with these vehicles. Most recently randomly throws service shifter codes and vehicle shifts into neutral with no warning. The shifter has been replaced with no remedy to the problem.

Truck has zero warning lights, zero visible issues, nothing is "wrong" with the truck. However, the truck runs horribly. It is terrifying to drive. Anything over 35mph is scary. It drives like the back wheels are about to come out from under it. The truck violently shakes. Sometimes it accelerates, sometimes not, randomly downshift, random upshifts, random power loss, randomly the breaks stop working. The radio has became such a problem that not only can I not use the radio, i cant use the navigation, back up camera, the apps, climate control, settings, nothing in the control unit. Cant even update it because it wont stay on one screen long enough, nothing. The unit bounces around from one tab to another. Its confusing the trucks computer system and has reset itself while on a lift getting serviced. The transmission is running hot, the cooling fans don't know if they should be on or off because the radio unit changes all the controls so quickly. The volts on the dash are always at or about 3/4 of the way up and continuously bounce because of the system always changing. I have 52 transmission codes because the system is so confused but no one will touch it because its an 8 speed and not serviceable. And all the components are working.... they just do not work together. There has been several recalls for this make and model but all for the diesel, I believe it goes further then just that.

There is a visible defect in the touch screen of the infotainment unit, which seems to be progressing in a top down direction. I suspect that the touch screen is delaminating and the electrical characteristics of the unit are degrading. The unit now "self-selects" and changes radio settings (FM to AM, or station), or screens (navigation, to CarPlay, to comfort settings, to...). Any and all features selectable through the touch screen, are accessible and changeable randomly; navigation screens and destination changes via both CarPlay and the onboard navigation system; windshield wiper/rain detection settings; high-beam auto dim on/off; parking assist; HVAC temperature, vent selection controls and fan speed; windshield and side mirror defroster; trailer setting selection. So far driver distraction has presented the primary risk. I have experienced the unit self-selecting/changing selections at a rate of approximately 5 selections per second, too fast to keep up with while parked or driving. I am concerned that parking assist features could be turned off or warning volumes changed without my knowledge. If towing a trailer, having the trailer braking options changed or having a different trailer selected could be dangerous. Power relays are also being switched rapidly. My issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but there are numerous Youtube postings documenting the issue. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps or messages. The first symptom was the undesired stopping of podcasts or changing of episodes. The problem became prominent approximately 12/14/2023 and has persisted. On [XXX] while driving on [XXX] in southern California the unit dialed and connected to the 911 operator twice and terminated both calls without my choosing to do so. I purchased a new 2018 Ram Truck with an ECO Diesel engine. The engine has undergone multiple recall repairs including one for the EGR that could cause a potential fire hazard. The truck has been in service for multiple engine related issues since I purchased the vehicle. It has continuously had a rampant smell of antifreeze inside the cab of the vehicle which has made me feel sick on occasions and I must open the windows even in the winter months. After only 66,000 miles my truck suffered a catastrophic engine failure. Although Stellantis replaced the engine under warranty, the new engine only had a 2-year unlimited mileage warranty. 2 years has passed and the warranty is now no longer active and I am personally responsible for any repairs. My truck with the new engine has just over 60,000 miles and is suffering the same issues as the original engine even though it was just fixed for these issues 4,000 miles ago. It again has the smell of coolant and diesel in the cab. The vehicle is dangerous to drive due to throttle control and temporary engine stalls. I have to rely on my children to drive me around, rent a car or use Uber. I have also complained multiple times to Ram service departments that this vehicle loses power and stalls while normal functioning. They keep telling me this is normal function of the engine. There is now a “Loss of Crankshaft Position” recall which also causes a catastrophic engine failure. The fix issued does not save the engine from this catastrophic failure but only allows the vehicle not to stop abruptly at the time of failure. Basically, I am driving a time bomb waiting for a catastrophic engine failure. I understand this engine is being discontinued and I wont even by able to repair this vehicle if something happens again in the future. Currently the vehicle is unoperable.

Additionally, the contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would consider covering half of the repair cost. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Driving on a busy highway, without any advance warning, all dash lights on screen turned on at once and truck completely shut down. We were unable to operate the truck or even put in neutral to move off the road. We had our children in the truck with us and it was a miracle we weren’t in an accident. We shut down the highway for hours waiting for a tow truck. We were charged $930 to tow to the nearest dealership.We paid out of pocket and have not been reimbursed. There have been multiple recalls on this vehicle. There are currently two open recalls one has been open since June 2022 with still no remedy available. I don’t feel safe driving my children in this vehicle. There needs to be a remedy soon before something happens. I don’t want to wait any longer given a close call we’ve already had with our children present.

The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle with a crank sensor failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance since the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 45,381. The contact stated Stellantis has changed its position on replacing the part in the original W58 recall, revised to reprogramming the PCM on the revised W58 and now 66A says there is no current solution. The contact wants to be reimbursed for repairs from the recall.

when fueling the pump handle gets stuck in the tank and also cuts the pump handle off several times during the fueling process. This problem has not been checked out. The exhaust manifolds are tapping. This will not pass our state inspection. This was found after my state inspection by an independent service center. No warning lights, but can smell a bit of exhaust fumes when starting. The uconnect system is delaminating causing the system to malfunction. While driving the screen changes, changes radio stations, volume, makes phone calls including 911, turns heated seats and heated steering on, it adjusts the temperature from hot to cold, cold to hot and the degree setting. You can not shut the uconnect system off once it starts. Spoke to the Ram dealership and they said this is a common problem and very pricey to fix. Saftey issue being 1. dialing 911 while driving. 2. sudden volume adjustments causing distractions,

The problem is with the whole DEF System in the truck. for the last 6 months I can't go a week or less without getting some kind of code. Every time it effects the electronic throttle control and the truck goes into limp mode, I can be going 70 mph and it drops down to 30-40 mph no matter where I am at. I have almost been rear ended several times. I fix that code and a week later another code pops up and we do it all over again. I think I may have gone 2 weeks without a problem in the last 6 months. This time it is the DPF and DEF system, and here we go back into limp mode. I have had it to the dealer last week for issues which they couldn't figure out but thought that reprogramming would fix. So I leave to go out of state to work and here we go again less than 100 miles from home. Exhaust filter is full with no regen for over 400 miles. Now I'm stuck out of state with this problem. I think this really needs to be addressed because after all of my research this seems to be a normal problem.

The active grill shutters and related wiring components are defective. The check engine light came on around 52000 and issued a code for U11E9- “replace active grill shutter.” I replaced it with a brand new part and the CEL remains on. Further investigation into similar instances in online forums suggest problems with the design of the wiring harness and pigtail that connects to the PCM. Many other consumers have reported this problem and were unable to resolve using the associated code, requiring further, expensive electrical repairs.

Ram 1500 interiors are damaged and destroyed when water intrudes into the cabs, a problem Fiat Chrysler allegedly knows about. The water leaks allegedly cause electronics to short-circuit which damages the rear airbags and propellant. And the water leaks cause mold and mildew which sickens occupants and makes the Ram 1500 trucks health hazards. In addition to the rear airbags, the Ram 1500 water leaks can allegedly cause problems with the "push-to-start ignition system, locks, windows, headlights, taillights, interior lights, windshield wipers, climate control, infotainment system and navigation, and back up camera." Ram 1500 drivers should allegedly expect failures of the headlights and tail lights, issues with starting the trucks, turn signal and brake light failures, faulty backup cameras and infotainment system problems. The Ram 1500 water leak lawsuit further claims drivers can lose the windshield wipers and the ability to lock or unlock the trucks. The contact stated that the stereo face plate was delaminated. The contact stated that the screen experienced random phantom touches. The stereo was randomly tuning up loudly and failed to turn off. The vehicle was undrivable. The driver had to restart the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed and determined that the screen needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but informed the contact about disconnecting a fuse. There is a manufacture defect within the UConnect 8.4" screen that causes an adhesive layer to melt and limit the functionality of safety features. A bubble started forming under the screen with the size less than a dime, but has already quadrupled in size since I first noticed it. There is nothing that I can do to make it stop. I have had ghost touches, ranging from drastically reducing and increasing volume, and even having the backup camera turn off because it thinks I'm doing something else. These instances have been rare, but have been starting to become more frequent as the bubble grows larger. I've contacted dealerships and FCA customer support, and they both acknowledged that this is a common problem, but will not help since I'm out of warranty. There are hundreds of documented cases of this happening to a wide variety of FCA vehicles, with many of them being will under 10,000 miles. I should not have to pay for a manufacture defect because my odometer is higher than others. There are even cases of screens dialing 911 on accident or hanging up phone calls. What If I need to call 911 but am unable to? What if I'm using the backup camera, and it decides to randomly turn off? What if the melting adhesive drips and cause s a critical failure while I'm driving? What if the screen doesn't display the correct info for my parking sensors? These are all issues that should've been addressed long ago, but FCA refuses to fix them. There are even class-action lawsuits against FCA for UConnect malfunctions right now. These aren't rare occurrences. Should I have to wait months, if not years, for a settlement to be made? This issue has plagued FCA vehicles since this screen has been implemented, and it is dangerous to let thousands of vehicles run with such an unsafe product that is critical for the vehicle to function properly.

Vehicle engine shuts off while driving. Once, sitting at a stop light. Once traveling at 45mph on a country road and once accelerating up a hill at 20mph. Dash says "place vehicle in park and turn key to start" (paraphrased). The vehicle goes from running to not running with no warning, causing loss of power steering, brakes, etc. Took vehicle to certified RAM service center who said 'there are no codes and we cannot reproduce the issue, so no diagnosis possible' (paraphrased). No error codes, no warning lamps. If this happens in highway traffic with my 16 year old son driving, it could cause a fatal crash.

AT 5 MONTHS 3600 MILES OF OWNERSHIP THE 4 CORNER AIR SUSPENSION WENT OUT. THIS ALSO CAUSED ME TO LOSS MY ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND SWITCHING LANES (BEFORE I KNOW OF THE ISSUE) THE TRUCK BECAME VERY LOOSE. I WAS DRIVING AT THE SPEED LIMIT AND JUST THE ACT OF CHANGING THE LANES CAUSED THE REAR END TO SWAY A BIT. I FEEL IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER THEY COULD HAVE OVERREACTED AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. A 16 YEAR OLD WOULD HAVE REACTED A LOT DIFFERENT THAN MYSELF A 40 YEAR WITH DRIVING EXPERIENCE IN MANY DIFFERENT SITUATIONS. THE SUSPENSION GOING OUT IN THESE VEHICLES IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. DODGE SHOULD OWN UP TO IT. BOTTOM LINE, THE 4 CORNER AIR SUSPENSION WILL CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO SOMEONE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN IT GOES OUT. I FEEL THEY ARE BEEN ENOUGH ISSUE WITH THEM THAT THE AIR SUSPENSION SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED AND OPTION GIVING TO GO BACK TO STANDARD SUSPENSION OR WARRANTY THEM FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.

SUDDEN, MOMENTARY (1-3 SEC) DECELERATION ACCOMPANIED BY PARTIAL (?) ELECTRICAL POWER LOSS (NOTED DASHBOARD DISPLAY BLANKED OUT DURING LATEST 2 EVENTS). EVENT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES FROM FEB 2018 PURCHASE DATE THROUGH AUG 2018. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF BETWEEN 70MPH AND 85 MPH. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW AT BILL LUKE IN PHOENIX ARIZONA, AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE HOME WE NOTICED THE UNDERNEATH OF THE VEHICLE IS RUSTED AND THE PAINT IS FLAKING OFF. WE MEET WITH THE DISTRICT MANAGER OF CHRYSLER AND SHE STATED RUST IS NORMAL ON BRAND NEW VEHICLE, THEY TOOK OFF A COUPLE OF PARTS, CLEANED THEM UP AND PAINTED, WE ASKED ABOUT ALL THE OTHER PARTS, ENGINE BLOCK, SUSPENSION PARTS, OIL PAN, OUTER WHEEL BEARING COVERS AND THEY LET US KNOW THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING. THE DEALERSHIP BODY SHOP, USED TOUCH UP PAINT ON THE AREAS THE PAINT WAS FLAKING OFF AND THAT CAME RIGHT OFF AND MORE PAINT IS FLAKING OFF AND CHRYSLER IS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT EITHER.

I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35-45 MPH WAS ATTEMPTING TO MOVE INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND I FELT MY STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP. IT WOULDN'T LET ME TURN MY WHEEL. SO THEN AS I ATTEMPTED TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES SO I DID T HIT A TREE THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I SMASHED INTO THE TREE AND THE. I TO THE WOODS. I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL 911. THE HOLE FRONT OF THE TRUCK IS DESTROYED.

I WAS DRIVING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY, AND MY VEHICLE WENT INTO PARK BY ITSELF. IT APPEARED A STRANGE MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN SAYING 'CAR NOT IN DRIVE, SHIFT TO PARK'. ALSO MY VEHICLE DISPLAYED AN ALERT MESSAGE SAYING 'ALERT: ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, THE VEHICLE ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM HAS DETECTED A MALFUNCTION'. ALSO ANOTHER ALERT WAS DISPLAYED AS 'ALERT: ENGINE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION'. NOT ONLY DID MY VEHICLE HAVE THESE MALFUNCTIONS BUT MY HEATED STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS WERE BEING USED BY ITSELF. I WAS NOT IN CONTROL OF THESE PANELS. LAST, MY SENSORS ON MY RAM DO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY, IF I AM PULLING UP CLOSE TO AN OBJECT MY SENSORS WILL NOT 'BEEP'. ONLY TIME THEY GO OFF IS IF I HIT THE OBJECTS IN FRONT OF ME. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, MY 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' WAS ON AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATED THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS BELOW 41 F WHEN IN FACT IT WAS 65 F.
