The contact owns a 2011 Ram 3500. The contact stated that on several occasions while attempting to make a right turn, the steering wheel seized. No warning light was illuminated. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.

The passenger side tire rod in the steering linkage that connects from one tire to the other fell out of the adjusting tube it was screwed into. This caused both wheels to canter out for a total loss of steering. I had just refueled and was going 2mph turning out of the gas station. Had I been back on the single lane hwy at 50mph the loss of steering would have resulted in a head on collision or dumping me into the forest trees. Having worked on similar front end parts in the past I find this absurd that those parts would simply pull apart, even if it were involved in striking a curb (which was not the case here). I have asked to repair facility to save the parts.

Steering wheel locked while vehicle was being driven at approximately 60mph. All other systems functioned normally. With about 2' of play in locked steering wheel vehicle made it to road shoulder. Restarted vehicle 3 times but steering wheel remained locked. Put car in "D" and "R" successfully and vehicle would move normally but steering wheel remained locked. All other electrical and mechanical systems function normally. No warning lights on dash were displayed. Called LIthia Dodge in Bryan/College Station(where vehicle was eventually towed). They suggested disconnect battery for 15" and system might reset. It did not. I disconnected Battery a 2nd time for about a minute. Steering still locked. Vehicle towed to Lithia where they willmlook at it Tuesday September 7, 2021. This had never happened before.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM NORTH SAVANNAH (LOCATED AT 1100 CHATHAM PKWY, SAVANNAH, GA 31405, 912-712-7900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE POWER STEERING COOLER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO THE MANUFACTURER, BUT DID NOT GET A RESPONSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

I HAVE A 2011 RAM 3500 DUALLY CUMMINS TRUCK. IF I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEED IT WILL START A VERY VIOLENT SHAKE THAT CAUSED ME TO VEER INTO THE NEXT LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES TOWING MY RV OR NOT TOWING. THIS TRUCK HAS 61,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS THE TIE ROD RECALL DONE, THE STEERING GEAR BOX REPLACED, SEVERAL ALIGNMENTS AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. THIS TRUCK IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEED ( 65 MPH ). IT PASSED ALIGNMENT AT BRANDON DODGE AND BIG O TIRE COMPANY. I AM NOW AFRAID TO PULL MY RV AND EVEN DRIVE THIS TRUCK ON ANY HIGHWAY. I HAVE DONE MUCH RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND CHRYSLER CLAIMS THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. THESE TRUCKS ARE BUILT AND CLAIM TO BE ABLE TO TOW VERY HEAVY LOADS. THEY ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE SHAKING TO STOP IS TO SLOW TO 25 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR WHILE BEING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THIS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT FIAT CHRYSLER HAS CLAIMED TO BE FIXED, BUT ITS NOT FIXED THROUGH THE CURRENT RECALL. PLEASE HELP MY SELF AS WELL AS MANY HEAVY DUTY CHRYSLER OWNERS TO GET THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED. THANKYOU!

A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, MY WIFE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE STEERING NOT FEELING RIGHT. AS I CONTINUE TO USE THE VEHICLE I NOTICE SOME VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL, BUT DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT BEING A PROBLEM BECAUSE THIS IS OUR FIRST PICKUP TRUCK AND THE STEREOTYPE IS ALL PICKUP TRUCKS RIDE RUFF. NOW SOME TIME HAVE PAST AND A FEW THOUSAND MILES LATER THE STEERING VIBRATION IS GETTING WORSE AND NOW I'M STARTING TO SUSPECT SOMETHING IS WRONG. AS I WENT UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE TO CHECK THE FRONT SUSPENSION I NOTICE THE NEW TIRES WHICH CAME WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN PURCHASE WAS COMPLETELY WORN ON THE INSIDE THREADS AFTER 8K MILES. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE NET TO FIND OUT THAT A LOT OF USERS OF THIS VEHICLE ARE EXPERIENCING WHAT'S KNOWN AS THE (DEPTH WOBBLE). I FIRST CALLED DODGE MFG. AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY INFORM ME THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING TO A DEALER AND GAVE ME A CASE #. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. ALL THEY DID WAS A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WHICH THEY CHARGE ME AND SAID THEY WOULDN'T REPLACE THE TIRES. WELL THIS VEHICLE IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING! ONLY 40K MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND WE REALLY ARE NOT HAPPY CAMPERS!

FROM 45 TO 70 MPH. IF YOU HIT A BUMP JUST RIGHT IN THE ROAD IT WILL CAUSE THE STEERING TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND HAVE TO SLOW TO 30 MPH TO BRING BACK TO NORMAL. BALL JOINTS STEERING STABILIZER TRACK BAR HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED TRUCK HAD BEEN TO SHOP FOR ALIGNMENT. TIRES WERE PUT ON AROUND 90K AND TRUCK HAD AROUND 98K WHEN DEATH WOBBLE STARTED HAPPENING I DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAULING ANYTHING WITH THIS VEHICLE OR HAVING MY FAMILY RIDE WITH ME.

I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS "WOBBLE" OR VIBRATION/SHAKE ISSUE FOR ABOUT A YEAR IN THE FRONT END. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE I HIT AN EXPANSION JOINT AND THE FRONT END SHOOK AND WOBBLED IN A WAY THAT DIDN'T SEEM RIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND ASKED FOR A FULL INSPECTION. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK AND EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE EVERY SO OFTEN AND IT KEPT GETTING WORSE. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE FRONT STEERING STABILIZER SO I CHANGED IT. NO DIFFERENCE. I CHANGED ALL 4 SHOCKS. NO DIFFERENCE. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS THE TIRES WHICH WERE CLOSE TO THE END OF THEIR MILEAGE LIFE. STILL EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO INSPECTED IT AND SAID IT WAS THE TRACK BAR. I ASKED IF THE FAILURE COULD HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TIE ROD RECALL AND WAS TOLD NO. THEY REPLACED THE PART WITH MY PERMISSION.THE STEERING SEEMED TIGHTER. AT FIRST IT SEEMED TO HAVE SOLVED THE ISSUE. A FEW MONTHS LATER I HIT AN EXPANSION JOINT AND GOT WHAT PEOPLE REFER TO AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" - THE FRONT END SHOOK SO BAD I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 30 MILES AND HOUR BEFORE IT SMOOTHED BACK OUT. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO MY REGULAR DEALER. THEY KEPT MY TRUCK 4 DAYS - THEY SAID THEY TOOK IT OUT A FEW TIMES AND FINALLY EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE I REPORTED. THEY SAID THE DRAG LINK JOINTS WERE LOOSE. AGAIN I ASKED IF THIS COULD HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TIE ROD RECALL AND WAS TOLD NO. AFTER A THOROUGH TEST DRIVE I STILL DON'T FEEL THE ISSUE IS FIXED - IT'S BETTER, BUT NOT GONE COMPLETELY. I AM HEADED BACK TO THE DEALER IN THE MORNING. I KNOW THE ROADS EVERYWHERE SUFFER FROM LACK OF REGULAR UPKEEP BUT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW A TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 80,000 MILES COULD POSSIBLY NEED TO HAVE THESE PARTS REPLACED SO SOON - ESPECIALLY FOR THE PREMIUM PRICE I PAID FOR THE VEHICLE. *TR

VEHICLE CONTINUES TO EXHIBIT EXTREME AND UNCONTROLLABLE FRONT-END VIBRATION WHEN TURNING OVER A BUMP OR GROOVE IN THE ROAD AT SPEEDS OVER 25 MPH ("DEATH WOBBLE") SUBSEQUENT TO THE N49 RECALL FINALLY BEING PERFORMED ON SAID VEHICLE ON 10/9/14. THE VIBRATION CONTINUES UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS SLOWED TO A STOP. THIS VEHICLE IS USED TO TOW A FIFTH-WHEEL TRAILER IN EXCESS OF 18,000 LBS, WHICH IS UNDERSTOOD TO EXACERBATE THIS DEFECT AND CAUSE A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND CRASHES THAT WOULD AFFECT NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD AT THE SAME TIME NECESSARILY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DEATH TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THOSE VEHICLES.

LEFT TIE ROD SNAPPED CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROL. THE SHOCK ABSORBER THAT IS BOLTED TO THE GEAR BOX CONTROL ROD FROM THE RIGHT TIE ROD TO THE LEFT WAS BUSTED CAUSING OIL TO LEAK OUT. THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS REVERSING INTO MY DRIVEWAY GOING A VERY SLOW SPEED. AT 34500 MILES. THE FRONT SUSPENSION "TRACK BAR" WAS COMPLETELY WORN OUT. AS A RESULT AT 40 MPH (HWY 2 IN MT DRIVING STRAIGHT IN THE EAST BOUND LANE) I EXPERIENCED SUCH A VIBRATION THAT THE TRUCK WAS UNCONTROLLABLE AND MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO SLOW DOWN WITHOUT BRAKING. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC SO NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK OCCURRED, THANK GOD. I REPLACED THE TRACK BAR AND THE STEERING DAMPER AS WELL AND THE TRUCK IS NOW FINE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT CHRYSLER HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR OVER A DECADE, YET THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. WHEN TALKING TO A DEALER IN IDAHO, I WAS TOLD THAT THE DODGE DEATH WOBBLE IS COMMON. THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE TRUCK SHOOK SO BAD THAT EVERYTHING WAS BLURRY UNTIL THE WOBBLE STOPPED.

I CALLED AROUND TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA TO HAVE A RECALL COMPLETED AND EVERY DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED AND THEY COULDN'T FIX IT. I WENT TO MY LOCAL TIRE AND LUBE SHOP TO INQUIRY ABOUT THE PART AND IT WAS AVAILABLE SAME DAY AT A PARTS STORE IN TOWN. FOR BEING A RECALL THAT COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE OR KILL SOMEBODY, THE DEALERSHIPS DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE MUCH ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED OR HELPING DIRECT US ON WHAT TO DO. I HAD MY LOCAL TIRE AND LUBE SHOP FIX THE ISSUE IN A DAY.

WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE LAST YEAR AND WERE TOLD TO CONTACT A DODGE DEALERSHIP ON JANUARY 6, 2014 WHICH WE DID. THEY INFORMED US THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE RECALL HAD A RECALL. WE HAVE NOW RECEIVED A 2ND NOTICE FOR THE RECALL. HAVE CALLED VASKO DODGE IN MCMURRAY, PA NOW A TOTAL OF FOUR TIMES AND CANNOT SEEM TO GET ANY ANSWERS. AT THIS STAGE I AM IN FEAR OF NOT ONLY MY LIFE, BUT THE LIVES OF MY CHILDREN DRIVING AROUND IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. CAN WE GET ANY ANSWERS??? AND MORE PARTICULARLY A NAME OF A CERTIFIED DODGE GARAGE THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE TAKEN TO BE PROPERLY FIXED??? IT'S BEEN EIGHT MONTHS NOW. The contact owns a 2011 Ram 3500. The contact stated that the OEM trailer brake controller indicated that the trailer brake was disconnected even though it was attached correctly. The failure occurred while different trailers were hitched to the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The contact replaced the OEM brakes with new OEM brakes; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed and determined that there was not enough amp signal to recognize that the trailer was connected. The mechanic attached a magnetic pigtail line with magnets attached to both ends, and the vehicle recognized that the trailer was connected. The cause of failure was found; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.

WHEN GOING ON ROUGH ROADS VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. HAVE TO MANIPULATE IGNITION TO GET TO START AGAIN. MY FAMILY HAS 3 OF THESE TRUCKS AND ALL ARE HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES. JUST HAD IGNITION MODULE REPLACED ON A 2012 RAM WITH 100000 MILES BECAUSE IT SHUT OFF WHEN GOING DOWN ROAD AND FRIGHTENED DRIVER. WHEN TRUCK DIES YOU HAVE NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. SEARCH ON INTERNET SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM TO MANY WITH TRUCKS OF THIS YEAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH THROUGH A PARKING LOT, A BURNING ODOR WAS DETECTED. THE CONTACT STOPPED AND PARKED THE VEHICLE AND, UPON EXITING, OBSERVED SMOKE RISING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO NOTIFY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. UPON ARRIVAL, THE VEHICLE WAS HOSED DOWN WITH WATER. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF AN ACTUAL FIRE PRESENT BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT SEE THE VEHICLE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LARRY H. MILLER DODGE PEORIA (8665 W BELL RD, PEORIA, AZ 85382 (480) 865-3986) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A MALFUNCTIONING ALTERNATOR THAT NEED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING WITH, SERVICE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE BEGAN AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V821000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.

DEALERSHIP IS NOT TENDING TO THE RECALL.. KEEP SAYING PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. BEEN ABOUT 8 MONTHS.

WHILE DRIVING BACK TO OUR HOTEL THE TRUCK WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO GEAR AFTER 3RD AND PUT ITSELF INTO LIMP MODE. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS, THE TRUCK WAS DRIVING NORMAL AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DID THIS. WE HAVE A BULLY DOG TUNER AND IT DIDN'T SHOW ANY CODES AT FIRST UNTIL WE DROVE IT IN LIMP MODE FOR AN HOUR AT 40KMH TO GET BACK TO OUR HOTEL. SINCE WE WERE ON VACATION WE HAD TO WAIT FOR A SHOP TO OPEN AT WHICH TIME WE FOUND THAT IT WAS THE VALVE BODY THAT LET GO. I HAVE READ THAT THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH THE 68RFE ON DODGE FORUMS AND I AM NOT SURE WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL DONE FOR THIS?

VEHICLE REPEATEDLY GETS STUCK IN PARK, BUT INDICATES REVERSE. WILL NOT START OR MOVE. TRANSFER CASE IS NOT ALLOWED TO MOVE TO NEUTRAL, BECAUSE SHIFT INDICATOR LEVER INDICATES IT IS IN REVERESE. SO CALLED "EMERGENCY OVERRIDE PROCEDURE" DOES NOT WORK. BATTERIES MUST BE DISCONNECTED FOR 30 MINUTES BEFORE SHIFT LEVER CAN BE RELEASED. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (AT MY OWN EXPENSE) UPON THE FIRST OCCURENCE, I WAS INFORMED THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. UNFORTUNATELY IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE THEN AND I AM MOST ASSURED IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

The contact owns a 2011 Ram 3500. The contact stated that during cold weather, the engine would not heat up properly and hesitated to start. In addition, the contact stated that on several occasions, the heater grid connector on the driver's side melted bolts and wiring that intruded into the engine, causing piston #6 to misfire. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V060000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

While driving 70mph on the interstate, the truck randomly shut off. I lost power steering. Luckily I was going straight and there were no curves in the road, and I managed to pull the truck and trailer to the side of the road. All electrical assist, steering and brakes turned completely off, radio turned off, all electrical power was off. The engine shut off as well. As I was pulling over, the electrical turned back on but the engine did not. Once I was stopped, I turned the key off, waited 30 seconds, and then started the truck. It ran fine the rest of the way home, approximately 30 miles. I have not drove the truck since. This has happened 3 times, once parked idling after I pressed the door unlock button and the other time in the middle of an intersection. I took the truck to the dealership, paid for the inspection fee, but they could not recreate or find any wiring problems. It did throw a code when it happened, U0121 (Lost communication with ABS module). The dealer said they had to recreate it to diagnosis. I am fearful if I continue to drive the truck to pull my trailer, this could happen again while I am in a turn and I will not be able to continue to turn or stop the vehicle without electrical assist. Dodge does not seem interested in trying to fix this safety issue.

W 17, 2018 MY HUSBAND STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER OF A TWO LANE ROAD AND BELIEVES HE PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK; THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, UNBUCKLED HIS SEAT BELT, OPENED THE DOOR AND STEPPED ONTO THE GROUND. AT THAT POINT THE TRUCK BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD. HE RAN TO TRY TO CATCH IT AND FELL. THE LEFT REAR DUAL RAN OVER HIS LEFT FOOT, RIGHT ANKLE, AND UP THE BACK OF THE RIGHT LEG AS FAR AS THE HIP. THE TRUCK WAS PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND BUT ROLLED SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT, INTO A SHALLOW DITCH OR DEPRESSION. SLIGHT ELEVATION ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DITCH STOPPED THE FORWARD MOTION 20 OR 30 FEET FROM THE POINT AT WHICH IT BEGAN. WHEN MY HUSBAND EVENTUALLY REACHED THE TRUCK IT WAS IN DRIVE. IF HE NEGLECTED TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK, WHY DID IT NOT BEGIN TO ROLL AS SOON AS HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE? THERE WERE NO ROCKS OR IMPEDIMENTS OF ANY KIND TO PREVENT IT. WHILE HAULING A LARGE LOAD OF HAY, I WAS TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 10MPH AS I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE VEHICLE TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN ON TO ANOTHER ROAD. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE STEERING COMPLETELY WENT AWAY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN AT ALL. THE BRAKE PEDDLE WAS VERY STIFF AND THE BRAKES WERE NOT VERY RESPONSIVE. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK STOPPED AS I WAS HEADING TOWARD ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. THE OEM INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER WILL NOT APPLY POWER TO THE BRAKES ON THE TOWED VEHICLE WHEN DEPRESSING THE TOW VEHICLE FOOT BRAKE. YOU MUST MANUALLY SLIDE THE BRAKE CONTROLLER LEVER IN ORDER TO ACTUATE THE SYSTEM. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TOWING A CAMPER, TRAILER, ETC. THIS IS THE SECOND RAM 3500 I HAVE PURCHASED IN A YEAR AND BOTH HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE BLENDING DOORS FOR THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITION UNIT. WITH THAT BEING SAID THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE DEFROST WILL NOT WORK WHEN THE BLENDING DOOR ARE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. THIS CAUSE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD NOT TO BE ABLE TO DEFROST WHEN IT IS STARTED OR WHEN IT FOGS UP WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD WHICH PUT MY FAMILY AND OTHER FAMILY AT RISK BECAUSE I CAN NOT SEE PROPERLY OUT THE WINDSHIELD TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS INSPECTED BY MICHAEL (XXXX) AROUND 09/14/18. 09/18/18 WE WERE OFFERED $13,558 BY JASMINE (XXXXX). RICK (XXXX) SIGNED THE OFFER 09/25/18. COPY OF THE TITLE FRONT AND BACK WAS FAXED TO 844-840-3737 PER THEIR REQUEST. A 10 DAY PAYOFF WAS FAXED BY USAA. AS OF TODAY 11/09/18, 2:30PM DODGE AGENT HAS NOT CONTACTED ME TO TURN THIS VEHICLE IN. NOVEMBER 1ST I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AT 800-583-1403, REF# 57174908 (CASE NUMBER) AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT LINDA (XXX) RECEIVED THE PAPERWORK 10/19/18 AND THAT IT WOULD SETTLE SOON. I WAS ADVISED BY SOMEONE AT DODGE AND ALSO JASMINE THAT THE CHECK HAD ALREADY BEEN CUT. JASMINE ALSO CALLED AND ASSURED ME THAT WE WOULD SETTLE BY FRIDAY 11/09/18. I CALLED DODGE TODAY AND NOW THEY SAY THE CHECK IS IN PROCESS. I REMINDED THEM THAT ALL THEIR CALLS ARE RECORDED AND THAT I WAS REQUESTING TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR. THEY INFORM ME NONE ARE AVAILABLE. I ADVISED I WANT A RETURN PHONE CALL BY 3PM TODAY. THAT I CONTINUE TO GET THE RUN AROUND AND THEN LIED TO ABOUT WHETHER THE CHECK IS OR HAS NOT BEEN PROCESSED YET. I SENT JASMINE AN EMAIL AND REMINDED HER SHE SAID THIS WOULD ONLY TAKE 10 DAYS AND NOW AS OF TODAY IT IS 45 DAYS SINCE THE PROCESS HAS STARTED. I HAVE A COPY OF OUR SIGNED AGREEMENT. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 17V-821, MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: T79 RECALL DATE: DECEMBER 20, 2017. WHEN I CALLED MOPAR TODAY TO SEE WHAT THE STATUS IS THEY TOLD ME THE MANUFACTURER STILL DOES NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART AND ADDED ME TO A LIST TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN IT COMES IN (SEE ATTACHED LIVE ASSISTANCE EXCHANGE). THE SOLUTION IN THE INTERIM IS TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE. UNFORTUNATELY WHEN WE USE THE PARKING BRAKE IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM, SO WE STOPPED USING THE PARKING BRAKE. THIS LEAVES US WITH A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. WE ARE UNABLE TO USE OUR 5TH WHEEL BECAUSE WE ARE CONCERNED THAT WE WILL BE STUCK SOMEWHERE AND NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THIS RESOLUTION IS TAKING TOO LONG. 2011 DODGE RAM 3500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO THE LEFT TIE ROD BALL STUD RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED 2 MONTHS AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE, IS WHEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED. THE CONSUMER AND HER HUSBAND DID NOT LIKE THE WAY, THE VEHICLE HANDLED AND STEERED. THE PROBLEM WAS ADDRESSED TO THE DEALER, AT WHICH TIME THEY WERE INFORMED IT WAS PROBABLY BECAUSE THE TRUCK WAS A DUALLY AND THEY WERE NOT USED TO DRIVING ONE AND IT WOULD TAKE SOME GETTING USED TO. APPROXIMATELY 2-3 WEEKS AFTER THE VISIT, THE CONSUMER AND HER HUSBAND RETURNED TO THE DEALER TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE HANDLING AND STEERING. THE DEALER PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT. THEY DROVE THE TRUCK FOR A FEW WEEKS, AND THEY WERE STILL UNHAPPY. APRIL 2, 2012, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE ECM. A MONTH AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HEATER AIR TEMP RELAY. THE DEALER THEN MADE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR 2 MORE MONTHS, THEN THE TIE ROD BROKE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE . THE DEALER REPLACED THE OUTER TIE ROD END AND RE-ALIGNED THE FRONT END. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE HANDLING AND STEERING. THE DEALER THEN DISCOVERED THE FRONT TIRES WERE WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE FRONT EDGE. IT WAS DETERMINED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DUE TO A BLOCKED OR INCORRECT AIR FILTER WHICH WAS REPLACED AND THE CODES WERE CLEARED. THE CONSUMERS ISSUES WITH THE HANDLING AND STEERING WERE NOT RESOLVED. IN JUNE OF 2013, THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COLUMN, WHERE THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WAS REPLACED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TIE ROD BROKE FOR A SECOND TIME. CHRYSLER DETERMINED AFTER THE ORIGINAL FACTORY TIE ROD BROKE AT 15,000, THE REPLACEMENT TIE ROD END AND ALIGNMENT WERE DONE IMPROPERLY BY THE DEALER. THE IMPROPER REPLACEMENT AND ALIGNMENT CAUSED THE FRONT TIRE WEAR ON THE OUTSIDE AND THE SECOND TIE ROD TO BREAK.

"DEATH WOBBLE" - I HIT A BUMP WITH THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. I WAS DOING 40-45 MPH AT THIS TIME. THE TRUCK FRONT END STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE, AND THEN THE REAR STARTED TO BOUNCE. I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE WHEN THIS HAPPENED WITH TRAFFIC ON ALL SIDES. THE NEXT DAY I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DODGE DEALER, TRUCK DID SAME THING (COMPLETE SYSTEM FAILURE) AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 5 MILES. I THEN HAD TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER. WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW TRUCK FROM A LOCAL SAVANNAH, GEORGIA DEALER IN 2011. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND A TREE FELL ON HIS 9 MONTH OLD TRUCK WITH ONLY 12,000 MILES ON IT. HE HAD BODY DAMAGE ONLY BUT THE TRUCK WAS RENDERED "TOTALED OUT" BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. WE PAID OFF THE LOAN WITH THE INSURANCE PAY OFF AND THEN, AFTER NEGOTIATIONS, WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK BACK FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. WE THEN HAD THE REPAIRS COMPLETED (AGAIN, BODY REPAIRS ONLY). THE TRUCK WAS INSPECTED AND GIVEN A "SALVAGED/REBUILT" TITLE. NOW...DODGE IS REFUSING US ANY FACTORY ENGINE/POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THEY ARE REFUSING (ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL LOCAL DEALER) TO REPAIR THE SAFETY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE TWO RECALLS: (1) LEFT TIE ROD END AND (2) 2011 DJD2 6.7L ECM FLUSH. WE ARE ALSO TO BELIEVE THAT THE FIRST MOST SEVERE SAFETY RECALL WAS PUT OUT BEFORE THE TRUCK WAS EVEN IN THE CRASH. WE HAVE GOTTEN NO WHERE WITH EITHER DODGE OR THE DEALER THROUGH SEVERAL PHONE CALLS AND SPEAKING WITH SUPERVISORS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR. THE SMELL IN THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING THE OCCUPANTS NAUSEOUS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. AFTER SOME TIME, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE DIESEL FUEL WAS INJECTED INTO THE EXHAUST AND WAS MIXED IN WITH THE OIL, CAUSING THE SMELL. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V350000 (STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY). THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS A PENDING LEMON LAW CASE FILED BY THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,700.

THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT NEW OCTOBER 2010 AND IN DECEMBER 2010 WE HAD TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED BECAUSE WHEN YOU TURNED ON THE HEATED SEAT, YOU COULD SMELL AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. DODGE ORDERED A NEW SEAT PAD AND REPLACED IT ON 1/11/11 AND WHEN WE TOOK IT IN WE ALSO MADE THEM AWARE THAT THE POWER SEAT ENTRY HAD STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN YOU USED THE SWITCH TO MOVE THE SEAT BACK, IT WENT ALL THE WAY FORWARD NEARLY PINNING MY HUSBAND IN THE SEAT BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND SEAT. DODGE RECALIBRATED THE DRIVERS SEAT, BUT SEAT STILL NEVER FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY. ON 2/15/11 I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO DODGE DUE TO THE HEATED SEAT NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND STILL SMELLING AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL WHEN IN USE. DODGE TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY JUST THE "NEW" WEARING OFF. THE POWER SEAT NEVER WORKED PROPERLY AND WE WOULD JUST LEAVE IT IN ONE POSITION AND TRY NOT TO MOVE IT. IF YOU DID MOVE IT SOMETIMES YOU COULD HEAR A CLICKING NOISE. SPRING CAME AND WE DIDN'T USE THE HEATED SEAT. ON 12/25/11 WE ATTEMPTED TO USE THE HEATED SEATS AND THEY DID NOT HEAT BUT WE SMELT ELECTRICAL SMELL AGAIN. WE PROMPTLY DISENGAGED THE HEAT. ON 12/27/11 MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK TO THE DODGE HOUSE AND AN ELECTRICAL FIRE STARTED FROM BELOW HIS SEAT AND THE SEAT BEGAN MOVING ON ITS OWN FORWARD ATTEMPTING TO PIN HIM BETWEEN THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL. THANK GOODNESS HE WAS ABLE TO PUSH HIS FEET FOWARD TO PUSH BACK ON THE SEAT, GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND GET OUT! HE SUSTAINED A BURN TO HIS LEFT THIGH. THE FACTORY INSTALLED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. NO MATTER HOW THE GAIN IS ADJUSTED THE BRAKE CONTROLLER EITHER ENGAGES THE TRAILER BRAKES TO THE POINT OF LOCK UP OR THE TRAILER BRAKES DON'T ENGAGE AT ALL. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE, IN AN EMERGENCY STOP THIS COULD CAUSE THE TRAILER TO JACK KNIFE OR LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE TOW VEHICLE. I HAVE READ ON MANY FORUMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FACTORY INSTALLED BRAKE CONTROLLER. MANY PEOPLE REPORT THAT THE CONTROLLER WORKS SPORADICALLY, EITHER THE TRAILER BRAKES LOCK UP OR THEY DON'T ACTUATE AT ALL. THE FACTORY INSTALLED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. THIS IS A FAULTY PRODUCT AND IS VERY UNSAFE FOR TOWING. HAVING YOUR TRAILER BRAKES LOCK UP OR NOT COME ON AT ALL IS A LIFE OR DEATH MATTER.
