WE WERE TURNING AROUND IN A PARKING LOT WHEN WE HEARD A BANG COME FROM THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK. THE STEERING WHEEL THEN HAD NO RESISTANCE, WE THEN PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK, EXITED THE VEHICLE, SAW THAT THE LOWER END OF THE STEERING DRAG LINK BALL JOINT HAD SHEARED OFF. THEN WE PARKED THE VEHICLE AND WAITED FOR A TOW.

NOVEMBER, 2015, THE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL ON MY 2012 RAM 3500 DIESEL. ON MAY 29, 2017 THE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY FAILED CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL IN THE TRUCK. FORTUNATELY IT WAS IN TOWN AT 35 MPH AND I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ACCIDENT OR INJURY. RAM SERVICE REPLACED THE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY BUT WITH THE SAME TYPE RECALL REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT FAILED 2 1/2 YEARS AFTER REPLACEMENT. I DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT IN THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE STEERING RELIABILITY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL AT 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE. UPON INSPECTION, HE NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP MADE THE CLUNKING NOISE. THE CONTACT SEARCHED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND NOTICED LEAKAGE FROM THE STEERING GEAR BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR BOX WAS LEAKING AND THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO A CHRYSLER DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANCHORAGE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM CENTER (LOCATED AT 2601 E 5TH AVE, ANCHORAGE, AK 99501 (907) 276-1331) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PITMAN ARM WAS DAMAGED AND LOOSE AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. Vehicle will, at random, completely lose all power while driving unexpectedly. There seems to be no cause that precipitates this loss of power. During the night, it is extremely dangerous, because the lights and everything go out.

My key fob ignition switch is going bad. The 1st time I noticed is when I was pulling my camper on vacation and the truck just shut off all the lights everything. I safely pulled over and then I tried to start it and it wouldn't start.. I then wiggled the key and then it started. I talk to other people that own rams and they say they have the same problem. So I talked to the dealer and they said the only thing they can do is replace the Ignition. Which could cost more than $600. Now I would think being that this is quite a common thing that Chrysler would take care of the problem before somebody gets hurt or even killed from their vehicle shouting off and not knowing what to do. There are videos on YouTube on how to Terra park and clean the Ignition but I don't think that is a good idea.

Key fob will randomly come loose when driving causing all systems to shut down. Shuts down fuel, steering, and power brakes. Any amount of vibration or small bump can cause it to shut down.

The WIN Module for the ignition system on my truck is faulty. There has been several time where I'm driving down the highway and the vehicle just shuts off completely. This disables my power steering and brakes. So I either have to shift into neutral and try to start the engine while rolling with a trailer hooked on behind me with no road shoulders to pull off on or if shoulders on road pull off and try to restart the truck then again. There has also been times when I start the truck that the dash lights just flash or the truck starts for a second and then shuts off again on its own with the key still turned to run. The dealer said that this has been happening a lot on these trucks and there is no recall for it. In my opinion this is a major safety hazard for myself and others traveling on the road.

PART 01: NOTICED PREMATURE INBOARD FRONT TIRE WEAR AND CUPPING ON BOTH LH AND RH FRONT TIRES AT AROUND 28000 MILES. PART 02: EXPERIENCED "DEATH WOBBLE" (UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING OF VEHICLE, SEVERE SHAKING OF STEERING WHEEL, INABILITY TO STEER VEHICLE) AT APPROX 34500 MILES. THIS HAPPENED WHEN CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. SHAKING STOPPED WHEN I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE ROADWAY, WHICH NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH A SEMI TRUCK FOLLOWING BEHIND. PART 03: TOOK VEHICLE TO TIRE SHOP TO PURCHASE 2 NEW FRONT TIRES, AND ALSO ASKED FOR STEERING ALIGNMENT. WAS TOLD AND SHOWN BY TIRE SHOP THAT ALIGNMENT COULD NOT BE PERFORMED DUE TO DEFECTIVE/WORN/LOOSE FRONT BALL JOINTS (BOTH SIDES, UPPER AND LOWER). VEHICLE HAS 35200 MILES WHEN NEW TIRES PURCHASED. TIRE SHOP SUGGESTED THAT ROOT CAUSE OF "DEATH WOBBLE" MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE BALL JOINTS. TIRE SHOP CONFIRMED PREMATURE TIRE WARE WAS CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE BALL JOINTS.

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH. AFTER HITTING AN ELEVATION BUMP WHERE A BRIDGE AND MAIN HIGHWAY JOIN THE STEERING IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO SHIMMY VIOLENTLY. LOSS OF CONTROL WAS POSSIBLE. I BELIEVED I HAD A BLOWOUT OR STEERING LINKAGE FAILURE. I PUT ON THE 4 WAY FLASHERS AND MANAGED TO MAKE MY WAY TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. THE SHIMMY DISCONTINUED AFTER I SLOWED BELOW 40 MPH.. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A DISASTROUS AND EVEN FATAL SITUATION. THIS VEHICLE IS SOMETIMES USED TO TOW A 5TH WHEEL RV. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW, HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS IS IN LINE WITH THE "DEATH WOBBLE" INFORMATION I FOUND ON LINE. THIS IS VERY SCARY AND UNACCEPTABLE!! I WAS ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF HIGHWAY AT THE TIME.

I HAVE OPTED FOR THE BUYOUT OPTION AND THE WAY THIS HAS BEEN HANDLED IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WAS EMAILED ON OCTOBER 26 WITH A BUYBACK OFFER. I ACCEPTED, AND FAXED THE PAPERWORK TO THEM THE NEXT DAY. NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK. I CALLED THE IMPARTIAL SERVICES PHONE NUMBER AND ASKED FOR AN UPDATE. THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN THIS PROCESS WOULD BE FINALIZED. IN MY OPINION, I WOULD THINK THAT I COULD BE INFORMED OF WHATS GOING ON THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, AND THE BUYBACK IS TAKING WAY TO LONG. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE RECALLS THAT WERE NOT REPAIRED. THIS LEAVES ME WITHOUT A VEHICLE UNTIL THIS PROCESS IS FINALIZED.

The contact owns a 2012 Ram 3500. The contact stated that after driving at an undisclosed speed, he stopped at the gas station and went inside to pay for fuel; however, when the contact returned to the vehicle, he became aware that the rear passenger’s side wheel was missing five studs. The contact stated that he was able to safely drive the vehicle to the dealer, where the wheel was inspected and the dealer was able to diagnose the failure; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that there was a previous safety recall for the vehicle, but when the vehicle was taken for the recall repair, the recall repair was not completed; the wheels were only inspected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact stated that the manufacturer originally approved completing the repair as a recall repair and then declined the approval. The failure mileage was approximately 307,000.

The contact owns a 2012 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, there was an abnormally roaring sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that while slowing down, the rear wheels detached from the wheel studs with the lug nuts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the lug nuts were torqued too tight on the studs. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V398000 (Wheels). The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that he also noticed that the lug nuts on the front wheels were missing. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The failure mileage was 247,000.

The dealer was made aware of the issue and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While driving down the highway, 7 of 8 lug studs of the right front wheel spontaneously broke off. Vehicle became difficult to control and steer. The one remaining lug stud kept the wheel on long enough to pull onto the shoulder of the road. This was a heavily travelled interstate highway. My safety and the safety of other motorists was at high risk. Broken lug studs are available for inspection. All of them broke at the location where the threads end at the shoulder of the bolt. I had recently performed brake service and the wheels were mounted and properly torqued to manufacturer specifications. No police report or dealer inspection. I made the repairs. No prior warning of the problem. This is identical to the problem a friend had with his Ram dually, that is now in a recall. Part number is 6509866AA. I have owned this vehicle since it was new.

THERE IS A RECALL BY DODGE REFERENCED AS THE N50 AND DODGE IS TELLING ME THIS DOES NOT PERTAIN TO MY PICKUP HOWEVER, THE SYMPTOMS IN MY TRUCK ARE THE SAME AS THE N50 RECALL.

DRIVING ON SNOW COVERED ROAD I STARTED HEARING A BANGING NOISE. JACKED UP TRUCK THIS MORNING AND DISCOVERED A LOT OF UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT IN BALL JOINTS. THIS TRUCK HASN'T EVEN BEEN OFF ROAD, DODGE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS, IT'S TIME TO GET THESE ISSUES RESOLVED. THE 2012 DODGE RAM 3500 4X4 6.7 DIESEL WILL INTERMITTENTLY STOP RUNNING. THE GAUGES WILL ALL GO DEAD, THE ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING AND WILL NOT START UP AGAIN UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY STOPPED, PUT IN PARK AND KEY TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS AT HIGH OR LOW SPEEDS, WITH OR WITHOUT A LOAD, PULLING A TRAILER OR RUNNING EMPTY. ONCE IT HAS STARTED BACK UP, IT MAY RUN FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS OR A COUPLE OF HOURS BEFORE IT DOES IT AGAIN. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE AFFECTED BY TEMPERATURE OR WEATHER BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED IN HOT AND COOL WEATHER AND WET AND DRY CONDITIONS. YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH. LAST WEEK IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AT LESS THAN 5 MPH. ROAD SURFACE DOES NOT SEEM TO CREATE THE CONDITION FOR THE PROBLEM TO HAPPEN EITHER BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN ON BOTH SMOOTH SURFACES WHEN IT HAPPENED AND ON DIRT ROADS HAPPENED, ALWAYS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. WHILE IN MOTION MY FOOT BRAKE DOES NOT SEND ENOUGH VOLTAGE TO THE ELECTRIC BRAKES ON MY TOY HAULER 5TH WHEEL TRAILER. I HAVE TO USE THE HAND BRAKE LEVER TO SAFELY STOP THE TRAILER.. WHILE STOPPED MY FOOT BRAKE SENDS 3.4 VOLTS TO THE TRAILER WHILE THE HAND BRAKE SENDS 12 VOLTS (THE GAIN IS TURNED TO ITS HIGHEST). WITH THE IGNITION OFF, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE TRUCK TO DO NOT ACTIVATE WITH THE FOOT BRAKE PEDAL. MY LOCAL RAM DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, NOR HAVE THEY HEARD FROM CHRYSLER. THE APPOINTMENT WIT THE RAM DEALER WAS ON JULY 10, 2019.

APPEARED TO BE WORKING CORRECTLY. IN MARCH, 2016, PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BEGAN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, AND IS NOW NON-FUNCTIONAL. WORKS ON HIGH BEAM. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB WITH A KNOWN GOOD BULB. SAME PROBLEM. TIPM IS OUT AGAIN. REPAIR IS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR A PART THAT IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE. This truck has had to have several high temp burnoffs because of failures in the EGR and Carbon build up. The recent recall for Rams does not cover the 2012, and began at 2013, however, we are experiencing the same exact issues with the same type of system. In addition, we have had repeated airbag issues due to the positioning of the cockspring and wiring getting choked out.

The key loses contact and vehicle shuts off at random times. The vehicle is not able to be steered when shut off happens. Could very easily cause an accident. It has happened driving on the highway at highway speeds and also on county roads driving slower. There are no warning messages. I have inspected it myself and believe the ignition box needs replaced

The ignition shuts off when you hit a slight bump or touch the key. This is even when driving! The truck shuts off and losses complete power, brakes, steering and lights! This is a huge problem after Googling this is happening on 2009- 2019 ram truck models. We have had near misses while pulling a horse trailer and 5th wheel! This should be a recall it's very dangerous! Checking dodge Chrysler is aware of this issue because the 2020 models have different win modules and fobs. HELP

The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the two front tires made abnormal sounds. The contact stopped and inspected the tire and became aware that the treads on both tires had separated. The contact stated that he purchased the tires from Pro Puller and contacted the store and made them aware of the failure. The contact stated that he was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to file a safety complaint because there had been several failures reported regarding the tires. The contact owns a 2012 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving uphill at 55 MPH, the contact became aware that the vehicle was not exceeding 55 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact continued driving to the destination. The vehicle was parked; however, upon inspection, the contact became aware that there were damages on top of the front driver’s side ball joint, the rear driver’s side axle leaf spring shackle, and the driver’s side overload spring. Additionally, there were metal fragments found in the engine oil, and a diagnostic scan retrieved DTC: P0087, P0471, U029D. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was inspected; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.

While driving, the vehicle will, if going over a bump, begin shaking uncontrollably, and render the driver helpless to remain in control of steering other than to slam on the brakes and hope another vehicle does not hit them. Vehicle ceases shaking when brought down to a slow rate of speed and then drives as normal. I have replaced multiple parts and cannot locate the problem. Happens frequently.

While pulling a trailer, integrated trailer brake controller stopped working and disabled the trailer brakes. All trailer lights worked, just no brakes. Showed red warning in dash and "CF" on brake controller after failure. No warning before failure. Checked connections and tested with another trailer. Even with no trailer, warning is on and trailer brakes are not functional. Created hazard to driver and other motorists by spontaneous loss of brakes. Online forums indicate this is not an isolated incident. More recently, now the trailer running lights have failed. Brake and turn signal lights work, but no running lights. No police report of inspections. Not yet repaired. Available for inspection.

MY DRIVER WAS TRAVELING AT 80 MPH IN CRUISE CONTROL WHEN HE STARTED TO NOTICE A VIBRATION FROM THE TRUCK THAT WAS SHAKING THE MIRRORS. AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH A LARGE BANG WAS HEARD FROM BENEATH THE VEHICLE AND THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK WAS LIFTED OFF OF THE PAVEMENT. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BE TURNED SLIGHTLY SIDEWAYS WHEN IT CAME BACK DOWN INTO CONTACT WITH THE PAVEMENT WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH! THANKFULLY MY DRIVER WAS ABLE TO CORRECT THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT BUT WHEN HE PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. HE WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EVENTUALLY BRING IT TO A STOP. PARTS FROM THE TRUCK HAD BEEN STREWN DOWN THE INTERSTATE OVER APPROXIMATELY 200 YDS. THERE WAS A VEHICLE TRAVELING BEHIND MY DRIVER AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT BUT LUCKILY THEY WERE FAR ENOUGH BEHIND THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTIONS TO AVOID ANY FLYING DEBRIS. THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR AFTER INCIDENT ACCIDENTS THAT OCCURRED THOUGH I WOULD ATTRIBUTE THIS TO THE ALERT AND RESPONSIVE DRIVING OF BOTH MY DRIVER AND THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE BEHIND HIM. THIS VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DODGE RAM DEALER WHERE WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT WAS THE PART THAT FAILED. WE WERE INFORMED BY DEALER PERSONNEL THAT THIS DRIVE SHAFT HAS A JOINT THAT IS NON-SERVICEABLE NOR EASILY INSPECTED AND THAT THIS WAS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. OTHER PARTS THAT WERE EFFECTED WERE THE TRANSFER CASE (THE CASE WAS BROKEN IN TWO PIECES AND THE INTERNALS WERE BLOWN OUT), TRANSMISSION CRACKED BEYOND REPAIR, BRAKE LINES HAD BEEN SEVERED, FUEL LINES HAD BEEN SEVERED AND A HOLE WAS PUNCHED THROUGH THE CAB BOTTOM INTO THE PASSENGER AREA. *TR

2012 DODGE RAM 3500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FRONT END TIE ROD RECALL PART ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN DECEMBER 2013. THE DEALER INFORMED HIM, THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. AS OF JULY 2014, THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT RESOLVED. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE EMISSION SYSTEM AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN O2 SENSOR ISSUE. THE SENSOR WOULD BE REPLACED, AND 1-2 DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AGAIN. THE O2 SENSOR WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE TIE ROD FAILED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIE ROD FAILED ON ANOTHER OCCASION AND THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE STEERING SHAFT AND GEAR BOX. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CASTOR HAD FAILED WHICH CAUSED HIS TIRES TO WEAR PREMATURELY. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT THERE WAS A SMALL GAP BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE FRAME AND THE DIFFERENTIAL WAS LEAKING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.

IN AUGUST 2012 THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS TAKEN TO DODGE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR REPAIR. THEY WOULD RESET SAYING CHRYSLER WOULD NOT ALLOW REPAIRS. IN OCTOBER THE DODGE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE UNTIL A WEEK OR SO BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2012. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT HAS STAYED OFF. HOWEVER WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF THE VEHICLES RETURN, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE LEFT TIE ROD BALL STUD....WHICH COULD CAUSE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DODGE DEALER. HE SAID CHRYSLER WAS NOT SUPPLYING THE REPAIR PARTS. HE PUT ME ON A LIST. I PULL A LIGHT WEIGHT 40' GOOSENECK TRAILER, AND WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED THE FUEL MILEAGE DROPPED TREMENDOUSLY AND THE COOLANT TEMP STAYED AROUND 220DEG AND I NOTICED A HORRIBLE LOSS OF POWER WHICH WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE ANY FASTER THAN AROUND 40-45MPH! I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PERFORMED A BOOST TEST ON THE TURBO AND SAID THAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO PRODUCE 32 POUNDS OF BOOST BUT MINE WAS ONLY PRODUCING 26 POUNDS OF BOOST, AND THEN I WAS INFORMED THEY COULD NOT JUSTIFY REPLACING THE TURBO BECAUSE IT HAS NOT THROWN A CODE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, WELL IF YOU TELL ME IT'S SUPPOSED TO PRODUCE ONE NUMBER AND IT'S DOING ANOTHER THEN I BELIEVE THAT'S ENOUGH JUSTIFICATION TO REPLACE THE PART BEINGS I PAID $50,000 FOR A BRAND NEW TRUCK! THE LOSS OF POWER CAUSES TRAFFIC BACK-UPS EVEN IF I'M IN THE SLOW LANE! THE TEMP OUT OF THE EXHAUST REACHES 800DEG'S AND MELTS MY MUDFLAP AND HAS CAUSED IT TO START SMOLDERING AFTER I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP! MY SAFETY ISSUE IS WHEN A LANCE TRUCK CAMPER, MODEL 1172 IS ATTACHED TO TRUCK. THE CG IS 6-8 BEHIND THE REAR AXLE (EVEN THOUGH BOTH DODGE AND LANCE DATA SHEETS INDICATE IT SHOULD BE OVER OR IN FRONT OF REAR WHEEL). IN ADDITION, WHEN FRESH WATER TANK IS FULL (AND WITHOUT A NORMAL CAMPING LOAD), THE GAWR OF THE REAR AXLE IS EXCEEDED. 400 POUNDS OF WEIGHT IS TAKEN OFF THE FRONT AXLE WHEN THE CAMPER IS ATTACHED TO THE TRUCK. AN INSPECTION OF THE FRONT TIRES REVEALED SIGNIFICANT CUPPING WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON THE NEW VEHICLE. THE TRUCK WITH THE CAMPER ATTACHED IS VERY UNSTABLE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. 2012 DODGE RAM 3500 LARAMIE. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE CONTROLLER *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED A DEALER HELPED HIM INSTALL A UNIVERSAL BRAKE CONTROLLER, BUT IT DID NOT WORK CORRECTLY. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS ABLE TO USE IT, WITH THE HAND CONTROL, BUT NOT THE FOOT CONTROL. THE BRAKES WOULD BECOME VERY HOT FROM TRYING TO STOP THE EQUIPMENT TRAILER WITHOUT THE BRAKE CONTROLLER WORKING PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE BRAKES OVERHEATED, IT DAMAGED OTHER COMPONENTS. ALSO, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD GO OUT AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. INTERIOR TEMPERATURE APPROXIMATELY +20*F AND RISING; DEFROST SETTING, FAN SPEED IS SET TO HIGH, HIGH HEAT TO DEFROST WINDSHIELD AND WARM UP TRUCK. IDLE TIME OF 10 MINUTES OR LESS. TRUCK COOLANT TEMPERATURE APPROXIMATELY 135*F AND CLIMBING. ALL SNOW AND OTHER MATERIALS CLEARED FROM EXTERIOR OF TRUCK. LITTLE TO NO MOISTURE ON INTERIOR OF VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 15MPH WHILE FIRST STARTING OUT (WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF STARTING VEHICLE) AND CHANGING ELEVATIONS GREATER THAN 15 FEET (ROLLING HILLS); EXPECT TO SEE A SUDDEN BUILD UP OF FROST ON THE INTERIOR OF THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF VISIBILITY. I HAVE HAD TO CARRY A SCRAPER AND BE ACTIVELY SCRAPING THE WINDSHIELD TO BE ABLE TO SEE ENOUGH TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR THE WINDSHIELD TO CLEAR ITSELF. HAVE ALMOST PUT VEHICLE INTO DITCH ONCE DUE TO BRUSHING SNOW BANK WITH TIRES AFTER FIRST OCCURRENCE. ISSUE ALSO OCCURS IF WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN TO HELP DISPLACE ANY POSSIBLE MOISTURE. ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND IT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND DODGE RAM CORPORATION. HAVE TALKED WITH SEVERAL OTHER DODGE RAM OWNERS AND ALL ARE REPORTING SIMILAR SITUATIONS. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS ISSUE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE AND THEY ARE STUMPED AS TO HOW TO REPAIR / RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. CLAIM IT TO BE ENVIRONMENTAL AND OUT OF THEIR CONTROL.
