The negligent driver yielded to the flow of traffic without stopping. When he collided with us, the airbags (exploded) deployed so strongly that they damaged the windshield and our bodies: face, neck, etc. Our beloved Audi A4 2009 was totaled and after that we had several operations: 2 eye operations (need 2 more), dental surgeries, 3 neck surgeries ... multiple unpaid medical expenses.

TAKATA INFLATOR: FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS, IF NOT MORE, WE HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FROM AUDI USA TO CALL OUR LOCAL SERVICE AGENT AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GO IN AND HAVE THE AIRBAGS CHANGED. WE HAVE CONTACTED THEM ASKING FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THIS WORK DONE ON AN ALMOST MONTHLY BASIS AND THEY NEVER HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PART. THE A4 HAS BEEN LOCATED IN HUMID SOUTH FLORIDA FOR ALL IT'S LIFE AND IT IS NOW 10 YEARS OLD. MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE'D LIKE TO HAND IT DOWN TO OUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER, HOWEVER, WE ARE RELUCTANT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. THE COLLECTION, OUR LOCAL AUDI DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE US WITH THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 AUDI A4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICES FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 18V427000 (AIR BAGS) AND 18V082000 (AIR BAGS) WERE RECEIVED IN 2018. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER (DCH MILLBURN, 2211 MILLBURN AVE, MAPLEWOOD, NJ) ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TAKATA RECALL -- SINCE OCTOBER 2018, I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING MESSAGES FROM AUDI THAT THE REPAIR IS AVAILABLE AND THAT I SHOULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IMMEDIATELY FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. SINCE THEN, I HAVE MADE SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS WITH MY LOCAL DEALER ONLY TO HAVE EACH OF THEM CANCELED DUE TO THE AIRBAG BEING ON BACKORDER OR OTHERWISE UNAVAILABLE. ON JANUARY 24, I CALLED BOTH MY LOCAL DEALER, AUDI EATONTOWN, AND AUDI CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. THE FORMER TOLD ME THAT THERE ISN'T A SINGLE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG IN NJ WHILE THE LATTER THEN EXTENDED THE LACK OF AIRBAG REPLACEMENTS TO THE ENTIRE US.

NOT DRIVEABLE NOW. AUDI OF NASHVILLE QUOTED CYLINDER HEAD AND ASSOCIATED PARTS, TIMING CHAIN, TENSIONER, CAM ADJUSTER AND PISTONS. TSB-2027731-8 BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION. ENGINEERING DEFECT WITH PISTONS A KNOWN ISSUE. CONTACTED AUDI OF NORTH AMERICA. UNWILLING TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. CAR BEYOND THE 8YEAR/80,000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY OFFERED FOLLOWING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. PAID CASH AT PURCHASE, PUT ROUGHLY 2,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND AND BEING TOLD WILL NEED TO SPEND AN ADDITIONAL $10,000-$13,000 TO GET THE CAR RUNNING AGAIN FOR A KNOWN ENGINEERING DEFECT WITH THE PISTONS AUDI IS UNWILLING TO CLASSIFY AS A RECALL.

DRIVING VEHICLE AND IT STARTED SHAKING. GOT THE CAR HOME AND WHEN I SHUT IT OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON IT RATTLED AND SOUNDED LIKE METAL. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD IT CHECKED BY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND TENSIONER WERE THE PROBLEM AND I WAS JUST TWO MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE NEXT DAY THE DEALERSHIP CALLED TO TELL ME I NEEDED NEW CYLINDERS BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT START. QUOTED ME $7,500 TO REPAIR. I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE CLASS ACTION SUIT BECAUSE MY CAR DID NOT BREAK UNTIL AFTER THE WINDOW CLOSED. AUDI KNEW ABOUT THE FAILURE AND DID NOTHING TO WARN OWNERS.

OIL CONSUMPTION IS HORRIBLE I'M REFILLING A QUART OF OIL EVERY FEW HUNDRED MILES. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND I DID RECEIVE NOTICE OF A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE REGARDING THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE.

OIL CONSUMPTION I HAD THIS CAR SINCE 2012 AND FOUND OUT RECENTLY ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THROUGH THE INTERNET, WHEN MY CAR STARTED CONSUMING COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF OIL. THE OWNER MANUAL SAYS A QUART PER ~1,200 MILES, BUT I'M GETTING OIL LIGHT AT ABOUT 400 MILES AFTER SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP. I SPOKE WITH MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP I'M CURRENTLY DOING EVERY 10K MAINTENANCE WITH AND NONE HAVE ACTUALLY HELPED ME OUT SINCE I'M OUT OF WARRANTY OF 80K. I SPOKE WITH AUDI CORPORATE AND THEY SAY THEY WILL REVIEW WHEN THEY GET TO MY CASE WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH NEVER. THEY KEEP TELLING ME TO TAKE MY CAR IN TO DO PHASE 2 OIL CONSUMPTION WHICH IS GOING TO BE A SEVERAL GRAND REPAIR. I DID PHASE 1 OUT OF POCKET ROUGHLY 1,700 AND THEY FIXED PCV BREATHER VALVE, SEAL AND UPDATED SOFTWARE AFTER I REPLACED THE PCV BREATHER VALVE RECENTLY, BUT THEY SAID THE VALVE IS OLD, SO THEY REPLACED WITH NEWER ONE, BUT STILL PRETTY MUCH DOING THE SAME THING AND THAT'S CONSUMING OIL. AUDI CORPORATE SAY THEY WILL "REVIEW" MY CASE WHICH PRETTY MUCH MEANS I PAY OUT OF POCKET AND THEN THEY'LL SEE WHICH I DOUBT. THIS CAR IS LITERALLY A HEADACHE NEVER BUYING AN AUDI AGAIN. AUDI IS CROOKED AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS. I KNOW THEY'RE TRYING TO BAIT ME INTO REPAIRING THE CAR FURTHER WHICH WILL ULTIMATE LEAD TO A 10K ENGINE REPLACEMENT AND THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN NOT ON MY DIME.

I bought the car recently and drove it on the freeway, on the way back home I noticed a shaking/Vibration coming from the right side of the vehicle. It made the car very hard to control and staying in one lane was almost impossible. It swerves left to right uncontrollably at random times. I haven't taken it in to any dealership or manufacturer to check it out for me, also there's no warning lights on the dashboard at all. And I believe the owner I bought it from knew of this issue but didn't let me know so I'm really just as in the Blind as well. I don't know what else to do because I can't keep driving the car with uncontrollable force and putting kids in danger or anybody else's.

WHEN DRIVING CAR IT BECOMES REALLY DIFFICULT AT TIMES TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. OFF AND ON. I MYSELF ALMOST HIT SOMEONE WHEN MAKING A TURN AT AROUND 20 MPH, I HAD TO BRAKE AND TURN WITH BOTH HANDS USING ALOT OF FORCE. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MY DAUGHTER AS WELL. STARTED HAPPENING THE END OF LAST YEAR. CALLED DEALERS AND THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON VEHICLE

THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO ROTATE BECAUSE OF A STRONG RESISTANCE TO ROTATION. THIS BEHAVIOR WAS DANGEROUS BECAUSE I COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL IN NORMAL TRAFFIC WITHOUT EXTREME FORCE. THE AUDI DEALERSHIP TESTED THE CAR AND REPLACED THE "INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT" BUT WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT. A CARS STEERING SHOULD WORK FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR. I QUOTE THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN'S REPORT: 'CONFIRMED CUSTOMER COMPLAINT AND FOUND THE STEERING WAS JERKY AND WOULD NOT RETURN TO CENTER. INSPECTED STEERING COMPONENTS AND FOUND THAT INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT WAS BINDING CAUSING THE STEERING TO JERK. REMOVED AND REPLACED SHAFT AND TESTED AND FOUND CAR TO BE OPERATING AS DESIGNED." I REQUESTED THE REPLACED PART WHICH I HAVE. (PART NUMBER 8K1 419 753 F). THE PART INCLUDES TWO UNIVERSAL JOINTS , ONE ON EACH END. EACH UNIVERSAL JOINT INCLUDES TWO FLEXIBLE BEARINGS WHICH ALLOW THE SHAFT TO BE FREE TO ROTATE FOR CHANGE IN ANGULAR POSITION. ONE OF THE ROTATING PINS WAS FROZEN AND WOULD NOT ROTATE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY BE OCCURRING ON MANY OF THIS TYPE OF SHAFT. THE NUMBER OF REPLACEMENTS BY AUDI SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL INSPECTION IS NEEDED. I TOLD AUDI US HEADQUARTERS THAT I WOULD BE FILLING A CLAIM IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT. AS A RESULT THEY OFFERED TO PAY 50% OF THE $714.70 BILL WHICH I ACCEPTED INSTEAD OF WAITING FIVE MONTHS FOR A HEARING IN MASSACHUSETTS SMALL CLAIMS COURT. *TR

"AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN." THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRRORS BLOCK THE DRIVER VIEW TO THE EXTENT THAT AN ENTIRE CAR IS MANY TIMES COMPLETELY HIDDEN FROM THE DRIVERS' VIEW. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES ON MY CAR ARE HORRIBLE. THEY'RE VERY FLIMSY AND THIN. THEY DON'T DO A GOOD JOB OF CLEANING UP THE WINDSHIELD IN RAIN, AND IF THERE IS ANY SNOW OR ICE.. THEY GET STUCK ON THE BUMPS AND MISS THE GLASS. THE WIPER BLADES ARE "STORED" IN A PIT UNDER THE WINDSHIELD TO PROTECT THEM FROM THE SNOW AND ICE... EXCEPT THE PIT JUST FILLS WITH THE ICE AND SNOW AND COVERS THEM.. SO THEY ARE BEYOND USELESS NOW. THE DEFOGGER ON HIGH BLAST MAKES THE WINDSHIELD A LITTLE BETTER.. BUT IT CANT WARM THE BLADES.. SO THEY WILL STILL KEEP GETTING ICED UP AND JUST SCRAPING ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD NOT DOING ANYTHING. *TR

THE WIPER BLADES ON 2009+ MODEL YEAR AUDI A4 HAVE A CHANNEL ON THE TOP SURFACE THAT COLLECTS LIQUID/ICY SLUSH AND IN FREEZING CONDITIONS THAT LIQUID FREEZES MAKING THE BLADE RIGID AND INCAPABLE OF CLEARING THE GLASS RESULTING IN ZERO VISIBILITY. FURTHER, AUDI IS USING A PROPRIETARY WIPER BLADE MOUNT WHICH MEANS THAT THERE ARE NO THIRD PARTY OPTIONS TO INSTALL A TRADITIONAL 'WINTER' TYPE BLADE NOT SUBJECT TO FREEZING. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE REQUESTS TO AUDI REPORTING THIS PROBLEM AND HOPING FOR SOME SOLUTION SINCE NOVEMBER 2008 BUT THEY SEEM TO HAVE NO INTEREST IN ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A SUBURBAN ROAD, DRIVING FORWARD, WHEN IT DEVELOPED FORWARD/BUCKING MOTION BEFORE STALLING/STOPPING IN TRAFFIC. UPON DEALER INSPECTION, THE VEHICLE'S HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED, WHICH DIRECTLY CAUSED A FAILURE OF THE ENGINE CAM SHAFT, RESULTING IN A COSTLY REPAIR TO CORRECT.

TWO FAULTY MIS FIRES CAUSED CAR TO MISFIRE AND RUN ROUGH AND JOLT. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST AUDI DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. SUBSEQUENTLY, WITHIN THE NEXT 9 MONTHS, THE CARE AGAIN EXHIBITED CLOSE TO THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THE CAR WAS AGAIN TOWED TO THE CLOSEST AUDI DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME, THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED AND WAS REPLACED. WITH A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS VEHICLE ON THESE EXACT ISSUES, I WAS STILL CHARGED A $250 DEDUCTIBLE PER INCIDENT ($500 TOTAL) ON MY EXTENDED WARRANTY TO REPLACE BOTH THE INJECTORS AND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE BULLETIN, I SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHARGED.

RECENTLY DONE OIL CHANGE WITH SYNTHETIC OIL (AUDI RECOMMENDED) WHICH SHOULD LAST FOR 10,000 MILES BEFORE ANOTHER OIL CHANGE IS NEEDED. UNFORTUNATELY AFTER A MONTH AND HALF OF DRIVING OIL LEVELS ARE SHOWING HALF OF THE OIL GONE. ENGINE IS MAKING NOISE AND LOT OF CO2 BEING CLOGGED UP. RUNNING HEAVY CAUSES TO USE LOT OF FUEL. WE BOUGHT TWO 2009 AUDI A4'S FOR OUR CHILDREN. LAST MONTH ONE WENT TO THE THE DEALER BECAUSE THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REBUILT BECAUSE OF OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE, WHILE THERE THE DEALER INFORMED US THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS FAILING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. I QUESTIONED THE DEALER AND CALLED AN INDEPENDENT AUDI MECHANIC, BOTH SAID THE SAME THING, WE WERE LUCKY IT LASTED THIS LONG AUDI HAS KNOWN FROM THE BEGINNING THAT THIS WATER PUMP IS FLAWED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. NOW FAST-FORWARD TO YESTERDAY, MY DAUGHTER TOOK HERS IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE MECHANIC, A DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT AUDI MECHANIC, SAID CAR WAS FINE EXCEPT WATER PUMP WAS FAILING!!!! HE SAID ITS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND AUDI IS FULLY AWARE OF IT, ITS A $1200 REPAIR NOT INCLUDING THE SUGGESTED TIMING BELT CHANGE. TWO CARS, SAME EXACT MODEL AND ENGINE, THIS CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE. THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FAILED CAUSING THE AUDI INTERFERENCE ENGINE TO BECOME OUT OF SYNC RESULTING IN THE ENGINE BECOMING TOTALED. THIS HAS BECOME A COMMON OCCURRENCE AND IS WIDELY REPORTED ON 2009 AND NEWER MODELS. BELOW IS AN ARTICLE WITH THEIR ASSESSMENT OF THE SITUATION. THE CAR HAD BEEN TAKEN IN 2X FOR MISFIRES AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN ISSUE WITH THE SPARK PLUGS, IT IS NOW CLEAR THAT THIS WAS THE TIMING CHAIN BEING OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND MISSED. UPON THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON THE CAR WAS LEFT PARKED UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE THE SERVICE APPT WHEN IT WAS TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE SERVICE LOCATION, AT THAT TIME, UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FAILED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FIRE OUT OF ALIGNMENT DAMAGING THE ENGINE. WHEN SPEAKING TO A MEMBER OF THE AUDI DEALERSHIP IT WAS SHARED THAT ANOTHER VEHICLE IS IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT THEY ARE SEEING THIS OCCUR MORE AND MORE IN THEIR VEHICLES. THIS FAILURE IS ALSO REMINISCENT OF THE 2007 CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT WHICH PROMPTED AUDI TO MOVE FROM A TIMING BELT TO THE FOR THE SAME OUTCOME OCCURRING. I OWN A 2009 AUDI A4 WITH 63,000 MILES. THE AUDI DEALER CHANGE THE PISTONS AND RINGS IN MY VEHICLE DUE TO AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM TWO WEEKS AGO. ON NOVEMBER 4, 2014 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR IS IDLING UP AND DOWN CONSTANTLY WHEN AT A STAND STILL. WHEN I CALLED THE NEAREST DEALER FOR A SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FOR 55000 MILES, I WAS INFORMED OF A RECALL INVOLVING THE CAMSHAFT. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD BEGIN THE RECALL WORK, BUT IT WAS A RECALL THAT INVOLVED THE 50000 MILE WARRANTY. I WAS NEARING 55000 MILES, BUT THEY WOULD DUE THE WORK UNDER WARRANTY. SINCE THE MOMENT I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2012, I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT CONSTANT ISSUES. I'VE HAD ENGINE LIGHTS ON, CHECK OIL LEVEL LIGHTS ON, ALTERNATOR GOING BAD, ESP LIGHTS ON, BEARINGS REPLACEMENT. YOU NAME IT, ITS HAPPENED. I TOOK MY AUDI IN FOR AN APPRAISAL AND TURNS OUT THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING BAD, HAD WARRANTY AND AUDI SERVICES DID NOT MENTION ANY ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION, WASN'T UNTIL MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED WHEN I FOUND THIS OUT. CAME INTO THE GARAGE IN THE MORNING AND REALIZED THERE WAS OIL ON THE GROUND. THE NEXT DAY TOOK THE CAR TO THE SHOP TO HAVE THEM LOOKED AT TO SEE WHERE THE OIL LEAK IS COMING FROM. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THE RESULT WAS THAT REAR MAIN SEAL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH THE PCV VALVE. TOTAL PRICE IS ABOUT $1500. I DID NOT HAVE ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THIS SEEMS LIKE IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH AUDI VEHICLES WHERE THE PCV VALVE IS OVER PRESSURING THE ENGINE AND CAUSING GASKETS/SEALS THE BLOW. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE AUDI TO FIX THIS PROBLEMS SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND HAS BEEN REPORTED A LOT OF 2.0T ENGINES.

I HAVE OBTAINED THIS CAR AS A USED CAR. ENGINE OIL WAS CHANGED ONE WEEK AFTER I HAVE THE CAR AT A MECHANIC SHOP. THREE WEEKS (ABOUT 500MILES DRIVING) LATER, A LOW ENGINE OIL ALARM SOUNDED. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME MECHANIC SHOP AND ADD A QUART OF OIL TO THE ENGINE. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR TO A ROAD TRIP. THE LOW OIL ALARM SOUNDED AGAIN. THIS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY ROAD TRIP WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY (ABOUT 500MILES SINCE LAST OIL ADDITION) AT ABOUT 75MPH. I HAVE TO GET OFF THE HIGH WAY RIGHT AWAY AND WENT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP TO TOP OFF THE OIL. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF I COULDN?T FIND A MECHANIC SHOP IN TIME TO ADD MORE ENGINE OIL, THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVERHEATED, LOCKED, AND FORCED TO STOP RIGHT AWAY. UNDER THIS SCENARIO, A SERIOUS COLLISION WITH THE CARS BEHIND OR NEXT TO ME MIGHT BE CAUSED IF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. UPON RESEARCH, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THIS ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM/COMPLAINT IN THIS MODEL OF CAR DUE TO THE DEFECTS IN THE PISTON RINGS. WHILE PARKED OVERNIGHT, SOME OF THE WATER POOLED IN THE RIGHT REAR BODY COLUMN SPACE WHERE THE MASTER COMPUTER FOR MUCH OF THE CAR IS LOCATED. THE WATER SHORTED OUT THE COMPUTER AND LEFT CAR INOPERABLE, UNMOVEABLE, UNUSABLE UNTIL IT WAS TOWED AND REPLACED, THIS INCLUDED THE PURCHASE OF A NEW COMPUTER AND ITS PROGRAMMING AND THE REPROGRAMMING OF THE CAR'S KEYS. ADDITIONALLY THE WATER SATURATED THE CARPET THROUGHOUT THE CAR AND THE SEATS. THE SUNROOF DRAIN REPAIR WAS EXPENSIVE AS WERE THE COMPUTER REPLACEMENT AND REPROGRAMMING. AUDI HAS SETTLED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR LEAKY SUNROOF DRAINS FOR MODEL YEARS 2005-2008, MINE IS A 2009 SO NO LUCK FROM AUDI ON PAYING FOR ANY OF IT, AND WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN THEY DENIED ANY FAULT IN THE MATTER.

WHILE RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I DISCOVERED THAT IT IS A RELATIVELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH AUDI CONVERTIBLES, AS CONFIRMED BY THE AUDI SERVICE REP WHO INFORMED ME OF THE ISSUE DURING A SERVICE VISIT. IF THAT IS THE CASE, AUDI SHOULD HOLD THE ADHESIVE COMPANY RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR, NOT THE AUDI CUSTOMER. PURCHASING AN ENTIRELY NEW TOP IS UNREASONABLE AND UNFAIR. PARKED IN AN INCLINE, I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF A DRIVE WAY. I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE AND REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WENT FORWARD AS IF IN NEUTRAL WITH NO RESISTANCE AT ALL. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE QUICKLY TO PREVENT FROM GOING THROUGH THE GARAGE DOOR. ALTHOUGH I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING IN REVERSE. I HAD TO GET THE ENGINE RPM UP FAIRLY HIGH TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE AT ALL. IT WAS LIKE I HAD THE PARKING BRAKE ON BUT IF I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR WOULD AGAIN ROLL FORWARD. WHEN THE CAR REACHED THE TOP OF THE DRIVE, IT QUICKLY GRABBED AND ACCELERATED. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE QUICKLY BUT NOT BEFORE I HIT A RETAINING WALL BEHIND ME. THIS TYPE OF HESITATION HAS ALSO BEEN EXPERIENCED WHEN IN DRIVE. DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR DOES NOT PRODUCE IMMEDIATE RESULTS. THEN STARTS TO INCREASE RPM'S AN THEN THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD. I own a 2009 audi a4. On the Month of october 2024 my transmission failed. I towed my car to a mechanic who then replaced my transmission i picked up my car on December 11 2024 at 7 am from audi of fresno. I have had no prior issues and like always i expect a dealership to inspect a new vehicle that comes in ,as i have never been able to get work done with out them always doing their own diagnostic. Any ways . On the morning of [XXX] at [XXX] i went to pic up breakfast from carls jr with my boyfriend . As i placed my order and drove up to the window without a single warning my car engulfed in flames from the front driver side . I turned my car off jumped out called. The fire department and watched as my car continued to build flames until the fire department finally showed up. Had i taken the freeway that day instead of the streets i wouldnt have noticed the fire until it was to late. . Im in shock and also just [XXX] that something like thus happened. On Sunday December 19, 2021, while driving home the warning light for the battery/alternator flashed on with an associated beep warning. An estimated 30 miles later all electrical and motor functions died while I was in heavy traffic. I was able to pull off onto a narrow shoulder up a steep hill and park. All functions quit, I could not come out of "Park", the emergency brake switch would not release, the emergency flashers did not function. Nothing responded. I called AAA Towing service to be taken to an Audi service repair shop. The towing service had to use a jumper to provide electrical power to release the emergency brake and take the transmission out of "park." The repair service was the "Sport Hous Reno" where the alternator and the battery were replaced. Invoice # 4791, 12-21-2021, total $1,709.12. I do not expect the battery to be covered since it is expendable. However, the alternator malfunction and this model of Audi completely dying placed me in a dangerous situation where I or my family could have been seriously injured. This is not my first Audi, I did have a similar occurrence with another model and when the battery caused a malfunction the Audi computer went in "Limp Mode" and I was able to drive slowly to the dealership. This was not the case, when the electrical system failed it did not go into "Limp Mode," it completely "Died" placing me and my car in a dangerous position.

I PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP WITH WARRANTY AND WITH IN THE WEEK THE CAR NEEDED A QUART OF OIL, I COME TO FIND OUT THE CAR HAS BEEN TO AUDI DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS ADVISED THE VACUUM PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE ENGINE IS CONSUMING OIL, THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD THIS CAR IN AUCTION TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM WAS FULLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE SINCE AUDI DIAGNOSED IT FOR THEM AND NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE. AUDI HAD A CALL BACK FOR THIS ISSUE AND HAD REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WHEN THE DEALERSHIP BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH A CAR LOAN ON A CAR THAT NEED OVER $6K IN REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE IT SELF.

DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE WAS REVVING WHILE IT WAS IDLE AND AT LOW SPEED, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO STEER THE CAR AND KEEP IT UNDER CONTROL. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER HAD FAILED AND HAD CAUSED SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE, CAUSING THE PISTONS TO FIRE PREMATURELY. PREVIOUSLY THE TENSIONER WAS REPLACED IN 2014 BY AUDI WHEN THE CAR HAD ~50K MILES AND WAS REPORTED AS A "WEAK TENSIONER". MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS 92K MILES. I BELIEVE THAT NO REPLACEMENT TENSIONER SHOULD ONLY LAST 40K MILES AND CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE AND PUT CONSUMERS AT RISK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THEIR CARS.

THE CAR LEAKS OIL. AUDI OF WILMINGTON REFUSES TO REPAIR IT. PURCHASED IT IN 2015 AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET REPAIRED. BOUGHT IT FROM KIA OF WILMINGTON ALONG WITH A WARRANTY THAT WAS NEVER HONORED BY EITHER. WAS TOLD KIA NEVER REGISTERED THE WARRANTY. ALSO THE CAR WAS SOLD WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY THAT NO-ONE WILL HONOR. THE DRIVER DOOR HAS A SHORTAGE AND THE DEFROST DOESN'T WORK. THE ALARM WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. I WAS TOLD THERE IS RECALL. MY CAR HAS A LEAKING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LEAK FROM THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE ENGINE BLOCK AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE. THE STEEL LINE CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO THE FILTER AND IS LEAKING FROM THE STAINLESS STEAL LINE. THE POWER STEERING METAL HOSE LINES ARE INCORRECT FROM THE FACTORY AND DO NOT SUPPLY ENOUGH PRESSURE IN THE LINE TO KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL FROM A VERY HARSH LOW SPEED SHUDDER WHEN TURNING. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS FAIL AT VERY LOW MILEAGE. NONE OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED ON THIS YEAR CAR. THIS MODEL AUDI IS AN ABSOLUTE LEMON HAVING MULTIPLE ISSUES AND EXTREME REPAIRS AND HUGE COSTS WHEN TRYING TO FIX THEM. I HAVE THE PAPER WORK FOR THESE FIXES AND WHAT IT TAKES TO REPAIR THEM CORRECTLY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THIS CAR REPAIRED FROM AUDI FOR THE PISTON RING OIL FAILURE WHICH THEY HAD TO REPLACE PER THE LAWSUIT THEY WERE HIT WITH AND STILL DENIED ANY WRONG DOING. PLEASE FORCE THIS COMPANY TO RIGHT THESE ISSUES THEY IGNORED IN THE FACE OF PROFITS INSTEAD OF DOING RIGHT BY THE CONSUMER.

AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR A YEAR, IT STARTED TO BURN THROUGH OIL AT AN INCREASING RATE. CURRENTLY IT IS GOING THROUGH ABOUT 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN A FEW TIMES TO CHECK FOR LEAKS OR TRY TO DETERMINE THE LOCATION WHERE IT IS GOING AND HAVE JUST BEEN TOLD THAT THIS MODEL ENGINE GOES THROUGH AT A FASTER PACE AND HAS BEEN A COMMON COMPLAINT AMONGST CUSTOMERS. THIS AUDI WAS A LEMON FROM THE START AND BOTCHED REPAIRS AT THE DEALER HAVE ONLY MADE IT WORSE. ONE THE 2ND DAY WE OWNED THE CAR THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND WE HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE DEALER FOR MORE OIL. OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS THE CAR BURNED AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL STARTING AT 1 QRT EVERY 2500 MILES AND DETERIORATING TO 1 QRT EVERY 800 MILES. ALL ALONG THE DEALER TOLD US THIS WAS "NORMAL". IN MAY 2011, DEALER TOLD US THAT AUDI HAD INITIATED A TESTING PROGRAM AND IF THE CAR FAILED THEY WOULD DO SOMETHING. IN JUNE 2011, THE CAR FAILED TEST AND THE DEALER KEPT THE CAR FOR 3+ WEEKS CONDUCTING MAJOR ENGINE SURGERY. 6000 MILES LATER WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THEY SAID THEY WANTED TO DO ROUTINE WARRANTY WORK. IN THE COURSE OF THIS WORK, THEY DESTROYED THE TIMING CHAIN AND PISTONS OF THE CAR. 1 WEEK LATER THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. IN TALKING TO AUDI TECHNICIANS AT OTHER DEALERS (OFF THE RECORD) THEY SAY THAT THE OIL PROBLEM IS A DESIGN PROBLEM AND THAT THE FIXES ARE SIMPLY BANDAIDS. APPEARS THAT THE 2012 MODEL HAS BEEN REDESIGNED TO FIX THE ENGINE FLAW. THE NET EFFECT IS THAT THE CAR HAS VISITED THE AUDI DEALER ON AT LEAST A MONTHLY BASIS SINCE WE BOUGHT IT AND HAS SPEND MORE THAN 8 WEEKS IN MAJOR "WARRANTY RELATED" ENGINE REPAIRS. TO TOP IT OFF, AUDI HAS COMPLIMENTED THIS "WORST IN CLASS" PRODUCT EXPERIENCE WITH A "WORST IN CLASS" CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE AS AUDI AMERICA 1-800 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY EITHER ROBOTIC OR RUDE IN TALKING WITH US ABOUT THIS ISSUE. MOST RECENTLY, THEY MADE A LAME OFFER TO REIMBURSE US FOR TOWING EXPENSES AND EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THIS DUBIOUS CAR FOR ANOTHER 12 MONTHS. AMAZINGLY, THEY REFUSE TO PU T THE OFFER IN WRITING UNTIL AFTER ACCEPTANCE. PRESUMABLY SO THAT THEY CAN AVOID LEGAL ISSUES. PLEASE HELP. I AM SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE SUFFERING THIS. *TR

I WAS DRIVING MY NEW 2009 AUDI A4 WHICH HAD LESS THAN 3500 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME WHEN FIRST THE TRANSMISSION CHANGES BEGAN TO BE VERY ABRUPT. I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT AT FIRST AND TRAFFIC ON THE WESTSIDE HIGHWAY IN NEW YORK CITY WAS FAIRLY CONGESTED SO THE SPEEDS WERE NOT THAT HIGH. SUDDENLY, THE TRANSMISSION STOPS SHIFTING ALL TOGETHER AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAR'S DASHBOARD TURN ON BEFORE THE ENGINE SIMPLY SHUTS OFF I ROLL TO A HALT IN THE CENTER LANE OF THE WESTSIDE HIGHWAY AND USE THE BATTERY TO TURN ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. I REPEATEDLY TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND IT WOULD START FOR ABOUT A SECOND BEFORE THE WHOLE CAR BEGAN TO VIBRATE HEAVILY BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT DOWN. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND THEY ESCORTED THE TOW-TRUCK OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS LOCKED IN THE TOW-TRUCK DEPOT UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING WHEN IT WAS GIVEN TO THE AUDI SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE THEY RAN TESTS AND DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD BROKEN. I HAD JUST GONE TO THE GROCERY STORE AND WAS UNLOADING THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT BUCKLES WERE NOT VISIBLE THROUGH THE SLOTS OF THE SEATS ANYMORE. I TRIED TO FEEL FOR THEM AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT WAS TOO FAR FORWARD AND THE CURVED PART AT THE BACK OF THE SEAT WAS NO LONGER TUCKED TO THE SEAT BACK. NEW CAR PURCHASE 2009, WHEEL SHIMMY NOTICED IN FIRST FEW DAYS. I ASKED TWO OTHER PEOPLE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND NO ONE EVER FELT THE SHAKE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 AUDI A4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN MAKING TURNS AND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED. IN ADDITION, THE EXTERIOR SIDE MIRRORS ARE DESIGNED WITH ALUMINUM INTERIOR, WHICH PROJECTS A GLARE. THE ONLY OBJECT THAT IS VISIBLE IS THE DASHBOARD. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THREE DEALERS AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT THE STEERING FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE CONTROL ARM CLIP AND THE STEERING LOWER ARM CONTROL. REPLACING THE PARTS WOULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT OFFERED TO PAY THE CONTACT $748 PER MONTH UNTIL THE FAILURE WAS CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO PUT THE AGREEMENT IN WRITING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,400.
