Passenger airbag will disable randomly while driving for random periods of time ranging from a few seconds to a few hours despite there being a 140+ lb passenger. This will happen every few minutes.

1.Passenger airbag- warning light gives me a daily message to service the airbag. I worry about whether the airbag will deploy at any moment or may not deploy if an accident occurs as I travel with my children daily. 2.Power steering- My power steering locked as I was driving 2 years ago. The auto shop has replaced/repaired the power steering system multiple times, however steering continues to whine and rub. 3.Trunk liftgate- The liftgate has abruptly lowered as my children and I have tried to get items in and out of the back. This resulted in one of them getting hit in the head. The back liftgate button has stopped engaging.

I purchased this vehicle several years ago used and everything was working fine. Several months later, whenever a "passenger" sits in the front passenger seat, the check airbag and seat belt system message appears in the dashboard. After the seat becomes unoccupied, the message remains on...sometimes for a couple of days, sometimes for a week, and sometimes for a month or two. Then it may stop showing the message until a person sits there again. This also happened when the vehicle was not running and the key was in my pocket. I went and applied pressure to the passenger seat and when I started the vehicle with an empty passenger seat, the message appeared again. I took my vehicle to the dealer and they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for the repair and I was thinking this should be a covered repair. What I am saying is the message appears that something is wrong and when someone sits in the seat.

WAVE PLATE FAILURE AT 80 MPH (LEGAL SPEED IN SD). FORTUNATELY NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES - IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE! TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID THIS IS A COMMON GM TRANSMISSION ISSUE. APPARENTLY A KNOWN DEFECT AS GM ISSUED SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR THE VEHICLE TO 120,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS. THIS VEHICLE IS AT 11 YEARS, 2 MONTHS, BUT ONLY 55,128 MILES. MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND WIDESPREAD ENOUGH THAT THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED.

i was driving fine until i slowed down and tried to turn, the steering wheel was hard to turn and making a grinding noise. it works fine going on the highway. i noticed this was a big issue with the enclave and wondering why this isnt recalled? ive spent enough money on this that i didnt have and cant afford another expense. i do not have a warranty on it. no check engines light and fluids are good

THE POWER STEERING ON MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN FAILING MORE FREQUENTLY TO THE POINT I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I AM A POLIO SURVIVOR AND DEPEND ON THE FULL FUNCTION OF MY RIGHT ARM @ ALL TIMES. SINCE PURCHASING THE 2008 ENCLAVE IN JUNE 2019, THE POWER STEERING HAS BEGUN FAILING EVERY TIME I USE THE VEHICLE. THE WORST FAILURE WAS ON THE FREEWAY @ 80 MPH WHILE RETURNING HOME TO IDAHO, FROM THE DEATH OF MY FATHER IN TUSCON. THE STEERING FAILED WHILE I WAS NEGOTIATING A CURVE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OUT OF THE CURVE @ THE LAST MINUTE. IT SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH! OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS, THE STEERING HAS BECOME MORE IMPOSSIBLE TO MANAGE, WHICH HAS CAUSED THE ROTATOR CUFF OF MY RIGHT ARM TO BECOME EXCEEDINGLY MORE PAINFUL. I HAVE OWN THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING IT I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP MAKING VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN BUT IT WOULDN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME. THE POWER STEERING FAILS ON TURNS WITH NO WARNING. FROM WHAT I READ THIS IS COMMON ON BUICK ENCLAVES. I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT FROM THE POWER STEERING FAILURE. THIS BLIND SPOT IS ACTIVATED WHEN A VEHICLE OR PEDESTRIAN) APPROACHES FROM 120-140 DEGREE ANGLE- OR RIGHT HAND SIDE CROSSING MERGING INTO TRAFFIC OR APPROACHING THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE TO PROCEED ACROSS TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, WITH THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE PARK POSITION, THE KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, AND THE KEY TURNS TOWARD THE OFF POSITION BUT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL REMAINS LIGHTED AND THE KEY WILL NOT TURN TO THE OFF POSITION SO THAT IT MAY BE REMOVED. NOT A GOOD ANTI-THEFT DEVICE FOR CERTAIN! THE SHIFT LEVER CAN BE MOVED WHEN THE "STUCK KEY" ISSUE IS GOING ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL DOWN ANY INCLINE LARGE OR SMALL IF THE SHIFT LEVER MOVED FROM PARK. MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY OPENS THE LIFT GATE WHEN IT IS IN PARK. THIS HAPPENS BOTH WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING AS WELL AS WHEN IT IS NOT. I CAME OUT OF THE BANK AND MY TAILGATE WAS OPEN. I TURNED IT OFF AT THE SWITCH INSIDE THE CAR. IT STILL ATTEMPTS TO OPEN WHEN I AM IN PARK. I HAVE TO LOCK ALL THE DOORS TO KEEP IT CLOSED.

NEVER ANY WARNING LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST ENGINE TURNS OFF SUDDENLY.THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY CITY ROAD MIDDLE LANE AT 25-45 M/HR. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. UNABLE TO RESTART I WAS ABLE TO PUSH INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALL FOR HELP, IT WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO SAID ROLLOVER SWITCH TRIPPED. 2 DAYS LATER ENGINE TURNED OFF AGAIN WHILE EXITING HIGHWAY AT THE SAME SPEED BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART IN NEURAL AFTER A MIN STOPPED, I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO MY MECHANIC WHO RESET COMPUTER AND DROVE IT AROUND FOR 3 DAYS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM ON COMPUTER. 2 DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING 45 M/HR ENGINE TURNED OFF AGAIN. I WAS ON A SMALL DECLINE 2 LANE BUSY ROAD AND ABLE TO RESTART IN NEUTRAL POSITION. A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER PARKED FOR A FEW HOURS BUT WOULD START IN NEURAL EVENTUALLY AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, 12/24/2016 WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY 2 LANE STREET IN TOWN ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES AT 20 M/HR. UNABLE TO RESTART AND PASSENGERS HAD TO GET OUT OF MY BUICK AND PUSH INTO NEAREST PARKING LOT. UNABLE TO RESTART, TOWED ON 12/26/2016 TO LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED BY A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP PER THE SUGGESTION OF BUICK USA. The contact owned a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated while driving at 20 MPH, a warning message indicating that the vehicle was overheated illuminated. The contact pulled into a nearby parking lot. The contact then opened the hood of the vehicle by engaging the power release button inside of the vehicle. The contact saw black smoke and flames coming out from underneath the hood. The contact immediately exited the vehicle. The contact attempted to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of the fire department. A fire department report was filed. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle remained at the scene. The local dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in a recall associated with the failure. TL* THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND WAS DRIVING UP A HILL AT AN UNKNOWN RATE OF SPEED, A FLAME HAD IGNITED FROM THE ENGINE WITHOUT WARNING. HER BOYFRIEND EXITED THE VEHICLE, CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW THAT THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. A FELLOW MOTORIST WITNESSED THE SITUATION AND ASSISTED HER DAUGHTERS BOYFRIEND BY GIVING HIM A FIRE EXTINGUISHER WHICH THE BOYFRIEND USED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER HAD THE VEHICLE INITIALLY TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME WHERE IT WAS THEN TOWED TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS DUE TO A "MECHANICAL DEFECT" AND WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR A REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE OTHER THAN RECOMMENDING THE CONTACT REPLACE THE PART. THERE WERE NO RECALLS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE. AT 90K MILES VEHICLE HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALONG WITH WARNING FOR STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL. LATER THAT DAY THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND STALLED AT A RED LIGHT. THE BUICK DEALER IDENTIFIED TIMINIG CHAIN AND TIMING ACTUATOR AS ISSUES. THESE PARTS WERE REPLACED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WE PURCHASED. AT 104K MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN; THE DEALER SAYS IT IS THE SAME TIMING CHAIN THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. BUT THIS GM NOR THE DEALER CAN EXPLAIN WHY THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED AFTER ONLY 14K MILES OF USE. TIMING CHAIN APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE ON 2008 ENCLAVE EVEN THOUGH GM HAS REFUSED TO COVER THEM. ALSO IT APPEARS THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT ANY BETTER.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. A TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED BASED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

I WAS DRIVING 70 MPH ON I-80 AND HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND, LIKE A BALLOON POPPING BUT LOUDER. THE KIDS NOTICED THAT THE MOONROOF WAS SHATTERED. WE TOOK PICTURES AND THERE IS NO POINT OF IMPACT. IT DOESN'T APPEAR ANYTHING HIT THE VEHICLE, AND NO VEHICLES WERE CLOSE ENOUGH TO US TO HAVE HAD ANY IMPACT. THE GLASS MADE A LOT OF CRACKLINGS SOUNDS AND PIECES STARTED TO FLY OFF OF THE CAR BEFORE WE COULD SAFELY EXIT THE INTERSTATE. WE STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND DECIDED WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND FIND A WALMART TO GET SUPPLIES TO COVER THE MOONROOF. AFTER GETTING BACK ON THE INTERSTATE THE GLASS STARTED MAKING THE CRACKLING NOISE AND GLASS FLEW OFF IN LARGE CHUNKS. WE WERE AGAIN FORCED TO EXIT AND REMOVE ALL OF THE GLASS FROM THE FRAME.

The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to start intermittently. The contact stated that upon attempting to turn off the vehicle, the vehicle failed to turn off. The contact stated that her husband, who was a mechanic, had inspected underneath the hood and noticed that the wiring harness underneath the engine was melting. The contact's husband scanned the vehicle with a vehicle scanner and retrieved diagnostic trouble codes that indicated a computer module failure. The contact's husband purchased the module, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the module was installed and flashed; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact's husband diagnosed that the wiring harness failure had caused the battery to overcharge and fail. The contact's husband replaced the battery and the alternator; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the liftgate struts had failed, causing the lift gate to close unintendedly after being lifted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT THE OIL PAN AND CHECK THE OIL, SAID WHEN I GET HOME TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. NOTICED THAT CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A SHAKING OR SHUTTER NOISE UPON ACCELERATION, MADE IT BACK TO HOME, TOOK CAR TO BUICK DEALER ON 3/26/15 BUICK DEALER SAID IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION AFTER THEY TEST DROVE IT, QUOTED ME A $4000 REPAIR PRICE, I JUST PAID THE $123.12 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, DEALER SAID THAT IF NOT REPAIRED I MIGHT LOSE MY 3RD, OR REVERSE GEAR. 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WATER PUMP FAILURE. 48000 MILES ON VEHICLE. DRIVING HOME ON FREEWAY AT NIGHT LOOKED DOWN AT TEMP GAUGE AND SAW IT WAS ON RED. SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE CAR AS WELL AS THE HOOD AREA. I WAS AFRAID TO PULL OVER ON THE FREEWAY SINCE I WAS IN DEAD CELL PHONE ZONE AND AM FEMALE. I WAS AN EXIT FROM HOME SO I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. AS I APPROACHED MY DRIVE WAY THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON AS WELL AS "CHANGE OIL SOON" INFO FLASHED ON THE DISPLAY, BY THIS TIME CAR WAS SMOKING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AS WELL AS THE UNDER THE CAR. THIS IS NO OK GM SHOULD CHANGE THE OIL AS WELL AS FILTER INCLUDED IN WARRANTY REPAIR. THE WATER PUMP FAILURE LEAD TO HAVING TO RUN IN OVERHEATED ENGINE PROTECTION MODE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I HAVE BEEN DOING RESEARCH AND SEE COMPLAINTS OF THIS DATING BACK TO 2009. IF THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS WHY HAVE THEY NOT DONE A RECALL. THE REPAIR COST THAT WAS QUOTED IS HIGH OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. THERE IS ALSO THE THE SERVICE LIGHTS AND STALLIG THAT RESETS ITSELF ON THE BUICK ENCLAVE IT HAPPENS WHEN VEHECIL IS SITTING STILL THE DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK AND THE LIGHTS FLASH AND THE CAR ENGINE MAKES A SOUND AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I DROVE MY BUICK ENCLAVE 2008 TO VIRGINIA FROM FLORIDA WITH NO PROBLEMS BUT WHEN MY TRIP WAS COMPLETE, I TURNED CAR OFF TO GO IN GAS STATION AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON...IT DID NOT START. IT STARTED TO MAKE A TWITCHING NOISE AS IF SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WAS WRONG. I GOT IT JUMPED..BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT WORKED FINE FOR 6 DAYS. NOW, IT WILL NOT START AT ALL UNLESS IT IS JUMPED. IN 2014 OUR ENCLAVE BEGAN HAVING A POPPING NOISE IN THE AUDIO SYSTEM. ALL SOUNDS, RADIO, DVD, TURN SIGNALS, WARNING CHIMES, STOPPED WORKING. AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR A TIME THE AUDIO WOULD WORK AGAIN. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE LAST TIME OCCURRING MAY 5, 2015. ON MAY 5, 2015 THE AUDIO STARTED MAKING A LOUD, EAR PIERCING POPPING NOISE WHICH ALMOST CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN WERE ALSO IN THE VEHICLE RIGHT NEXT TO THE REAR SPEAKERS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE NOISE WAS TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR. AFTER 66,000 MILES OF EASY DRIVING, OUR 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE HAS A BROKEN WAVE PLATE AND NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION! THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAUSED TWO SEPARATE DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATIONS, ONE OF WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THE FIRST EVENT OCCURRED WHEN STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. I HAD TWO CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. WHEN THE INTERSECTION CLEARED, I BEGAN TO MAKE THE LEFT TURN, BUT THE ENGINE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND MERELY COASTED INTO THE LANE OF ON-COMING TRAFFIC. THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE 7-YEAR-OLD CHILD SITTING THERE WERE LEFT EXPOSED TO THE THREAT OF IMPACT BY FAST-APPROACHING TRAFFIC. WE TRIED CONTACTING GM CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT RECEIVED NOTHING MORE THAN A RECORDED MESSAGE ASKING US TO HOLD ON THE LINE. WE HELD FOR OVER ONE HOUR AND RECEIVED NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. A REVIEW OF MANY WEBSITE POSTINGS REVEALS A WIDESPREAD FAILURE OF THE ENCLAVE WAVE PLATE AND TRANSMISSION, THAT GM IS FULLY AWARE OF IT AND HAS TAKEN NO STEPS TO ADDRESS IT OR TO ENSURE OF THE SAFETY OF THE THOUSANDS OF ENCLAVE OWNERS AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE CXL AWD THE SEATBELT CASEMENT ON BOTH FRONT SEATS IN THIS SUV ARE BEING DAMAGED (CUT INTO) BY THE BELT MOVING OUT AND BACK OVER THE HOUSING, CAUSING THE BELT TO OCCASIONALLY CATCH AND NOT RETRACT INTO THE B-PILLAR. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE LOCAL DEALER, AS WELL AS GM CORPORATE OFFICES, AND NEITHER WILL REPLACE THE WORN OUT AND CATCHING PARTS, CLAIMING THAT THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED BY WARRANTY AT THIS TIME. AS WE WERE DRIVING AROUND A DARK CURVE ON A WELL TRAVELED COUNTRY ROAD, THE CAR QUIT PULLING, THE BATTERY DIED, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT. WE WERE UNABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AND WERE IN THE DARK. THERE WERE TWO ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. WE HAD TO CALL A WRECKER TO PICK UP THE CAR AND A DEPUTY SHERIFF TO DIRECT TRAFFIC AND KEEP FROM BEING HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE REPAIRS DID NOT PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM STALLING AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE WIRES UNDER THE SEATS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE SECOND REPAIR, THERE WERE STILL EXPOSED WIRES PROTRUDING FROM UNDER THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SEAT AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY. THE THROTTLE BODY ON SEVERAL GM VEHICLES HAS FAILED. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, THEN THE ENGINE REDUCED POWER START LIGHT WENT ON, THEN THE CAR SPUTTERED, SLOWED DOWN AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH. THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN QUICKLY AND YOU CANNOT GET POWER TO MOVE OVER 30. FRIDAY DEC 26TH AT 4:30 PM I WAS ACCELERATING TO MERGE INTO RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON I-35 WHEN I HAD A CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THERE WERE NO ALARMS, LIGHTS, NOISES, SMELLS OR ANYTHING ELSE TO ALERT ME TO THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS ABOUT TO FAIL. AS I MERGED MY RPM'S SUDDENLY WENT PAST 5000 AND MY 2008 ENCLAVE BEGAN TO DECELERATE. BY THE GRACE OF GOD THERE WAS NO LOSS OF LIFE, MINE OR THE OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME, AS MY VEHICLE LOST POWER. I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT THE SITUATION DESCRIBED ABOVE IS NOT AN ISOLATED EVENT. LIKE SO MANY OTHERS BEFORE ME MY VEHICLE (AT 80,000 MILES) WAS DIAGNOSED WITH WAVE PLATE FAILURE (P0776). I HAVE CALLED GM AND REQUESTED THAT THEY PAY FOR THE REPAIR SINCE IT'S DUE TO A FAULTY PART, BUT THEIR RESPONSE IS TO DENY, DENY, DENY. THE MANAGER I SPOKE TO STATED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL SO GM IS NOT OBLIGATED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THE MOST DISTRESSING PART OF THIS SITUATION IS NOT THE $3500.00 I'LL BE PAYING AFTER GM'S "ASSISTANCE". IT IS THE FACT THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE HIGH FAILURE RATE OF THE GM WAVE PLATE. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE TO FIX IT BEFORE I WAS PUT IN SUCH A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS LIKE A TICKING TIME BOMB. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN I FELT MY STEERING WHEEL GO STIFF AND MY RPM GAUGE DROPPED. I TRIED PULLING OVER BUT HAD PROBLEMS TURNING THE WHEEL. THAT IS WHEN I REALIZED MY ENCLAVE HAD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND HIT THE BRAKES TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP WHERE I THEN RESTARTED IT. SHOWING 3 ERROR CODES P0700 - P0174 - P 0171. THIS IS LIKE ONE ERROR CODE PULL THE OTHER. SUNROOF WATER LEAK. WHEN IT RAINS WATER POURS FROM ALL PARTS OF THE ROOF ONTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. FROM FALLING WATER TO WATER RUNNING DOWN THROUGH THE WALLS OF EVERY PART OF THE CAR. IT HAS STARTED TO CAUSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE AND ALSO I HAVE FOUND MOLD UNDER THE CARPET WHERE THE WATER ACCUMULATES. IT IS USUALLY 1 TO 2 INCHES OF WATER ON THE FLOOR BOARDS AFTER RAINING. CAUSING MOLD, RUST AND MILDEW. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER IT RAINS, A LITTLE OR ALOT. THIS MAY BE CAUSING UNHEALTH IISUES. OUR 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE BEGAN LEAKING WATER ONTO AND UNDER THE DASHBOARD FROM THE SUNROOF. NOT ONLY HAS THIS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM SINCE 2008, BUT THERE WAS AN ACTUAL RECALL THAT YEAR TO FIX THIS LEAK. FOR SOME REASON OUR VIN NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL BUT IT IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES THAT THE RECALL WAS TO ADDRESS. THIS LEAK CAN CAUSE SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES INCLUDING CORROSION AND FAILURE OF AIRBAG SYSTEMS, THE FUSE PANEL, THE BLOWER MOTOR THAT OPERATES THE DEFROST/DEFOG FUNCTION, AND A BUILDUP OF MOLD AND MILDEW. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY FUSE PANEL IS SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I SUSPECT THAT I HAVE OTHER DAMAGED ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AS WELL. I HAVE ATTACHED THE URL'S OF SEVERAL SITES WHICH REFERENCE THE EXTENT TO WHICH THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING WITH THESE VEHICLES. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE INITIAL RECALL DID NOT COVER ALL OF THE VEHICLES WITH THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM AND NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH A DEALER QUOTE FOR $1900 REPAIR THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BLOWER MOTOR AND AIRBAGS. I WOULD APPRECIATE A PROMPT RESPONSE AS I CAN'T DRIVE IN THE RAIN AND AM CONCERNED ABOUT HIDDEN DAMAGE THAT COULD AFFECT THE CAR'S SAFETY. THANKS. THIS CAR IS A MESS. IT DIDN'T PASS THE STATE EMISSION TEST STICKER. THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STABILITY TRACK CONTROL SYSTEM. I BOUGHT THIS 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE A YEAR AND A HALF AGO WITH LESS THAN 80,000 MILES ON IT, AND IT'S BEEN GIVING ME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ALREADY. I ALMOST GOT STRANDED AND COULDN'T GO ABY FASTER THAN 30 MPH. IT ALMOST CUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. MY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE BOTH WOULD LOSE POWER AND WOULDN'T GO PAST FIRST GEAT. MYRPM HAND WENT ALL THE WAY UP TO 4 WHICH IT NORMALLY STAYS BETWEEN 1 AND 2, AND MY GAS HAND WENT FROM FULL, TO HALF, FULL, AND ALMOST EMPTY IN A FEW SECONDS. ENGINE RIDES ROUGH AND HAS TO TAKE OFF SPEED. TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE PROBLEMS WERE ADVISED BY BUICK AS BEING A KNOWN ISSUE BUT APPARENTLY THEY HAVEN'T STAYED TRUE TO THEIR NAME "BUICK." I OWN A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WHICH WAS PARKED STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY ON MARCH 24TH 2016. AS I EXITED MY HOME AND ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK MY VEHICLE I WAS SURPRISED BY A CLOUD OF SMOKE THAT WAS RELEASED BY THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT HAD DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. DAMAGING THE DASH, RADIO, AND DESTROYING THE WINDSHIELD GLASS. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED GM SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN WHICH THEY SENT OUT A TOW TRUCK TO REMOVE MY VEHICLE FROM MY PREMISES AND SHIPPED IT TO A ED RINKE CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEIR INVESTIGATOR CLAIMS THAT THERE WAS A PREVIOUS CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD THAT CAUSED THE 12" OF STANDING WATER DAMAGE ON MY FLOORBOARDS AND IN THE AIRBAG SENSOR MODULE. THERE WAS NO CRACK... My toddler is able to easily with one hand unbuckle the car seat. At the time I thought maybe my toddler was the only one but I have three other friends experiencing the same problem. Graco told us to just tell them not to unbuckle it or to have an adult sit back there with them. I believe that Graco should start making buckles that aren't so easily undone by a small toddler.

WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, MY CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE. RPMS WERE HIGH AND I HAD TO PULL OVER FROM THE FAST LANE WITH TRACTOR-TRAILERS DRIVING AROUND ME AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, IT SEEMS THIS HAS BEEN SEEN IN ALOT OF CARS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. I HOPE NO ONE DIES TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURER RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. THE MECHANIC SAID THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. RECOMMENDED A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. IN FACT, THERE WERE TWO OTHER BUICK/GM CARS WITH THE SAME ISSUE WAITING TO BE WORKED ON. THE CODES WERE P0776, P0796 AND P0700.

I HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS OVER THE LAST YEAR WITH THE STABILITRACK SYSTEM GOING OFF AND IT TELLING ME TO SERVICE STABILITRACK. HOWEVER, NOW MY TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT AND I HAVE A CAR THAT I OWE WAY TOO MUCH FOR AND CAN'T AFFORD TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED. ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION MY IGNITION ONLY WORKS PART OF THE TIME. THERE IS NO POINT IN REPLACING THE IGNITION IF THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE MOTOR ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BUT APPARENTLY THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE MOTOR REPLACED DURING THE RECALL SO I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THAT. NOT TO MENTION SPENDING OVER $200 JUST TO GET MY HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACED AT A SHOP BECAUSE ITS NOT SIMPLE ENOUGH TO JUST TAKE THE COVER OFF AND REPLACE THE BULB. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A MONEY PIT. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN ACTING A LITTLE STRANGE LIKE OCCASIONALLY NOT WANTING TO SHIFT ONE DAY AND THEN BEING FINE THE NEXT. THE OTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING AND IT WOULDN'T SHIFT, REV"D UP TO 4000 RPM AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 40 MPH. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE JANUARY 2014. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH IT LEAKING WHEN IT RAINS,. WATER ENTERS THE SUNROOF AND DRIPS THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLES OVERHEAD AS WELL AS SOAKS THE PASSENGER SIDE CARPET. WATER DRIPS FROM THE VISOR, THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS (WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ELECTRICAL FIRE) IN THE FRONT MIDDLE AND BACK OF THE VEHICLE IT SEEPS THROUGH THE SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTERS AND THE AREA WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOY (WHICH COULD CAUSE DEPLOY ISSUES). THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN SO BAD MY VEHICLE IS STARTING TO SMELL LIKE MOLD AND I AM AFRAID THAT AFTER A YEAR OF THIS PROBLEM MOLD HAS GROWN UNDER THE CARPET AS WELL AS IN THE OVERHEAD FOAM. THREE WEEKS AGO I TOOK MY 2008 ENCLAVE TO O'NEAL BUICK GMC TO HAVE THE AIR BAG RECALL COMPLETED AS I HAD THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED IN MY DASH ALONG WITH THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING SIGN. I ALSO NOTICED WHEN I DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WASN'T WORKING REGARDLESS IF ANYONE WAS SITTING THERE OUR NOT EVEN MY HUSBAND WHO'S 210 POUINDS THE LIGHT STAYED OFF. AFTER LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE THE TECHNICIAN CAME TO ME AND ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ISSUE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT BACK AND LEAVE IT BUT THAT THEY WERE FIXING THE RECALL WHICH HAD TO DO WITH THEM TOUCHING WIRES UNDER MY DRIVER SIDE SEAT. DUN-RITE FOUND IT HAD A BROKEN WAVE PLATE. THEY REBUILT TRANSMISSION FOR $2,800. UNFORTUNATELY, THE STABILITRAK, TRACTION CONTROL, AND AIR BAG SENSORS ARE ALL ALSO GOING OFF AND CAR HAS HAD 2 OTHER INSTANCES OF LOSING POWER WHEN DRIVING SINCE. THIS IS THE 8TH TIME+ WE'VE HAD WATER ENTER THE CAR THROUGH THE CLOSED MOON ROOF. WATER DRIPS DOWN THROUGH THE LEFT AND RIGHT WINDSHIELD PILLARS, FLOWS OUT OF THE SEATBELT TENSIONERS IN THE 3RD ROW AND THROUGH THE HEADLINER ONTO THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. YOU CAN HEAR A WAVE OF WATER FLOWING ABOVE THE HEADLINER,AND WHEN WOOSH IT FLOWS WHEN THE CAR DIPS TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. THERE'S HAS TO BE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND RUST THAT'S BEING CREATED BY THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE DRAIN IS CLOGGED WITH LEAFS, FROM A MOON ROOM THAT'S NEVER BEEN OPENED. THE LAST 2 TIMES THIS HAPPENED BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED. WARNING ON THE DIC: BREAK ASSIST OFF AND THEN THE RED CRITICAL FAILURE WARNING AND TONES CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. AS I STARTED TO DRIVE IT FAILED TO SHIFT FROM FIRST GEAR. SO I ENDED UP DRIVING SLOW DUE TO THE CAR BEING IN FIRST GEAR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 25-40 TIMES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE CONSUMER STATED HE HEARD A CLICKING NOISE WHENEVER HE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP, POWER STEERING GEAR, STEERING COLUMN . THE CONSUMER STATED HE WOULD LOOSE POWER STEERING ASSIST WHEN DRIVING AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP. , THERE WAS EXCESSIVE PLAY IN THE STEERING. THE CONSUMER HIT A PILLAR, WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED UP, AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED SEVERAL COMPONENTS WITHIN THE STEERING SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED WAS THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. CAR WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD WITH 20,140 MILES ON IT. SINCE THEN THE MAIN PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN WITH THE SUNROOF LEAKING. THIS CAUSED THE BLOWER MOTOR TO FAIL. THE WATER LEAKS HAVE HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 TIMES. THE DRAINS KEEP CLOGGING. THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. NOT ACCEPTABLE! THEY TOLD ME NOT TO PARK UNDER TREES. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'VE HAD SUNROOFS BEFORE AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. THE RECALL FOR THE DRAIN EXTENSIONS DID NOTHING. EVENTUALLY THERE WILL BE OTHER PROBLEMS. WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE IS GETTING WET WHERE I CAN'T SEE IT. MOLD IS INEVITABLE. TWICE WITHIN A MONTH, WHILE TRAVELING AT 70MPH, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND QUICKLY SLOWED TO APPROX 20MPH ALL ON ITS OWN, WITH TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS TURNING ON. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND STAYED AT 20 MPH. ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE WAS HAMPERED, BUT ON BOTH OCCASIONS I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO EASE OVER TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT BEING HIT OR HITTING ANYONE ELSE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 25 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING FROM THE VEHICLE FRONT END. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIE RODS TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE POWER STEERING AND WATER PUMP FAILED AND THE DEALER REPLACED BOTH COMPONENTS. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WERE SEVERAL FAILURES IN THE VEHICLE INCLUDING WARPED ROTORS AND BRAKES AT 22,000 MILES AND SEVERAL UNKNOWN RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V240000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE $100 REFUND OFFERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. IF AFTER WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 2-4 SECONDS AFTER DROPPING MY 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE INTO PASSING GEAR I NEED TO PERFORM AN EMERGENCY STOP, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO TRY TO ACCELERATE. IT'S AS IF THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE ARE DEPRESSED AT THE SAME TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE BUT WHEN THEY CHECKED WITH GM TECH SUPPORT THE DEALER WAS TOLD A 2 OR 3 SECOND DELAY WAS NORMAL AND WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. SNOWY CONDITIONS - ABOUT 2 INCHES ON THE GROUND; AS I BEGAN TO DESCEND THE HILL NEAR MY HOME I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO KEEP A SLOW PACE DOWN THE HILL. BRAKES FAILED AND I BEGAN TO SLIDE DOWN THE HILL. STEERING WAS UNRESPONSIVE; MESSAGES INTERCHANGEABLY FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD - 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' AND 'SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL'. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE, AND HALFWAY DOWN THE HILL JUMPED AN 8" CURB. FORTUNATE THAT THE VEHICLE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT BECAUSE THERE WERE PARKED CARS TO THE LEFT. ALSO, FORTUNATE THERE WERE NO PEOPLE/CHILDREN AROUND, WHO COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. $3000 DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. VERY FRIGHTENING TO LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CAR - I THOUGHT AWD, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THE DRIVER MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IN ADVERSE CONDITIONS. EVERYTHING FAILED AT ONCE. GOT THE VEHICLE TO THE CLOSEST GM DEALERSHIP; THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SURPRISE, EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT. THEY HAVE NO INDICATION ANYTHING FAILED, SO NOTHING FURTHER THEY CAN DO EXCEPT REPAIR THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE. I EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE FAILURE OF BRAKES, STEERING, TRACTION, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME I DID NOT - THAT THE CONDITIONS WERE SLICK AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE POWER LIFTGATE ON 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHEN CLOSING, IT DOES NOT REVERSE AT MY SHOULDER HEIGHT. A FEW DAYS AGO, IT PUSHED ME DOWN TO ABOUT TO HALFWAY POINT BEFORE IT STOPPED (OUCH!!!) LATER TRIED THIS A FEW TIMES... IN THE FIRST 6-12" OF CLOSING, THE GATE DOES NOT REVERSE, EVEN WITH VERY FIRM HAND PRESSURE. FURTHER TESTS SHOWED THAT IT FAILS TO REVERSE AT EVEN MORE THAT THE 12" MARK (I DIDN'T MEASURE). AT ABOUT MIDWAY TO CLOSED, IT REVERSES WITH JUST A LIGHT TOUCH. ON AUG 20 THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME WITH A HITCH STOPPED; SO DID I. THE CAR BEHIND ME AND THE CAR BEHIND HIM DIDN'T STOP. I TOOK THE CAR TO SPRINGMALL AUTO BODY IN SPRINGFIELD - $5500 WORTH OF DAMAGE. ONE WEEK AFTER I PICKED IT UP, I WAS DRIVING AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. I GOT ON ONSTAR AND THEY SAID THE TRACTION AND ABS CONTROL MODULE FAILED. I TOOK IT BACK TO SPRINGMALL. BECAUSE IT'S SO NEW, THEY DROVE THE CAR TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT - RTE 1 PONTIAC, GM AND BUICK, WOODRIDGE VA. UPON RECEIPT OF THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC NEVER ASKED FOR PAPERWORK FROM THE AUTOBODY SHOP WHO DELIVERED IT - THEY HAD NO IDEA THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. THE MECHANIC SAID HE NEEDED TO DRIVE IT HOME TO SEE IF IT WOULD DO IT AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY, THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT AND TOLD ME TO PICK IT UP. ONE WEEK LATER AFTER A 2 HR RIDE TO RICHMOND - IT PETERED OUT AGAIN AND I HAD TO DIVE FOR THE BREAKDOWN LANE. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO RTE 1 BUICK AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP MY CAR (WHICH I AM LEASING) AND APPARENTLY IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG. I ASKED THEM TO IMMEDIATELY CALL SPRINGMALL AND GET A FAX OF THE ACCIDNET AND EXTENT OF DAMAGES - THEY WERE SHOCKED. I SAID I DIDN'T MIND LEAVING IT, BUT I WANTED MY MILES REFUNDED. THEY SAID NO. THE WHOLE SCENE TURNED UGLY AND THEY TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE SHOP. I HAVE A PREGNANT DAUGHTER AND A GRANDDAUGHTER WHO RIDE IN THAT CAR A LOT - WHY DID THEY TELL ME IT WAS FINE TO DRIVE IF IT WASN'T? THE CAR JUST STOPS!! THE HEAD MECHANIC SAID THE ONLY THING HE COULD DO WAS PUT A BLACK BOX ON MY CAR, WHICH HE DID. THAT WAS OVER TWO MONTHS AGO AND THE PROBLEM HASN'T OCCURRED YET. HE SAID JUST BECUASE ONSTAR SAID WHAT IT WAS, THAT MAY NOT BE THE PROBLEM. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A BUICK ENCLAVE 2008. WHILE DRIVING I ROLLED DOWN THE BACK WINDOWS TO LET SOME AIR IN THE NEXT THING I HEARD WAS A TERRIBLE NOISE AND IT HURT MY EARS, THE FASTER I DROVE THE WORSE THE NOISE BECAME. I TOOK THE ENCLAVE BACK TO THE BUICK DEALER AND AFTER THEY DROVE IT THEY ALSO HEARD THE NOISE. FROM WHAT THEY TOLD ME IT IS BECAUSE THE ENCLAVE HAS A LOT OF AIR SPACE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THAT IS WHAT CAUSE THE NOISE BUT, WHY DOES IT NOT MAKE THE NOISE WHEN, I OPEN THE DRIVER WINDOW ALL THE WAY DOWN?? THEY COULD NOT ANSWER THAT QUESTION. HOWEVER I DID FIND OUT THAT ALL OF THE BUICKS AND GMC'S ARE BUILT THE SAME AND MAKE THE SAME NOISE. I ENJOY THE ENCLAVE BUT I DO NOT LIKE BEING ABLE TO OPEN THE REAR WINDOWS OF MY ENCLAVE. CAN YOU HELP ME OR TELL ME WHAT I CAN TO TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM?
