Head Light Assembly - The dim lights are life threating. This is a know defect, and should have been part of a recall. A class action lawsuit was filed. GM loss, and replaced the head light assembly for the minimum amount of time ending in 2019. My car has 89,000 the dim lights have probably never been good. This should have been a total recall, instead, GM quit paying for headlight replacement in 2019. If you call GM/Cadillac 800-333-4223 they will tell you they quit because that was part of the settlement. Every head light assembly should have been replace, a total recall.

I recently notice that I had very little light on the low beam of my headlights. Cannot see the road unless on high beam. Dealership said it is a problem that they have had with the SRX and have replaced so many 'headlight assembly's' that they now carry them in stock. Since you can't drive with the high beams on in traffic I feel this is a failure of the model and can only be fixed by replacement...quote of $1750.00.

I had a headlight go out so I purchased new bulbs had both of them installed, low beams … and I still can’t see in the dark even after having my outside lamps detailed and cleaned. I have to drive with my high beams on in the dark. This needs to be a recall , something is not right with the lights on this vehicle. So Now I just try not to drive at night which is hard with the time.

The headlights are very dim and I cannot drive this vehicle at night due to safety. This problem comes back after replacement of headlight assembly.

headlights fill with moisture and condensation causing headlights to not function properly and creates a safety issue when driving at night. Condensation also results in premature headlight bulb failure. This problem is well documented by customers of these vehicles however no repairs of this manufactured defect have been provided by the manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle would not shift gear properly with the “service rear axle” message displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle received an unknown software reprogramming however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Service rear axle message is displayed on the driver information center. The code indicates AWD has been turned off which can put my safety and or safety of others at risk. Service Bulletin (PI0703B) was issued for numerous 2010 Cadillac SRX, unfortunately the recall wasn't issued for my vehicle (VIN). The service bulletin was for DTC c0407 with symptom code 64, the exact same code that was found with my vehicle. I have attached the diagnostic sheet from certified Cadillac dealership in this case request. I did contact Cadillac customer service, they suggested to contact NHTSA regarding this recall

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and shifted gears to drive before continuing to drive to his destination. The contact stated that he experienced the failure several times. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the timing chain was replaced. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

My vehicle has service rear axle and stabilitrak warnings on and an open recall that was supposed to be addressed by August 12th still no remedy. The service bulletin states not to drive the vehicle if those warning lights are on due to the recall. My vehicle drives terribly and so I have listened and waited for remedy. I can't keep going without a vehicle so this needs to be moved along faster

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated she received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000(Suspension) and she took the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. The contact stated after a couple of weeks the contact noticed that the rear end suspension had damaged both rear tires. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again, where they attempted aligning the rear end with the front end of the vehicle but were not successful. The manufacturer was contacted but was not able to further assist. The failure mileage was 156,368.

The contact stated that both adjustable rear toe links were previously replaced with non-adjustable toe links under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V571000 (Suspension); however, while driving at various speeds, the rear end of the vehicle felt unsteady and was vibrating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not align the vehicle due to the non-adjustable rear toe links. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring and had severely damaged the rear tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would follow up with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

The contact called the dealer who completed the recall repair and was informed to bring the vehicle back for further review. There were no further repairs performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

2010 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE FUEL GUAGE. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE HAVING THE FUEL GUAGE REPAIRED, THE CV SHAFT WAS REMOVED AND THE BEARINGS FELL OUT. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE BEARINGS FALLING OUT WAS DUE TO NEGLIGENCE. THE CONSUMER WAS ALSO CHARGED FOR A FRONT WHEEL BEARING THAT WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND REPAIRED BY A DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOP. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE MANUFACTURER BUY BACK THE VEHICLE AND REFUND ALL SUBSEQUENT CHARGES.

THIS VEHICLE IS PRETTY GOOD BUT WHAT HAS FRUSTRATED ME FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW IS BECAUSE MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND THE LIGTHS ARE ALMOST NON-EXISTENT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE HORRIBLE FOR A WHILE IT APPEARED THERE WAS A LOT OF MOISTURE AND WATER IN HEADLIGHTS AND NOW WE HAVE TO USE BRIGHTS IN ORDER TO SEE ANYTHING. I WAS A PRICE OF 1600 FOR BOTH LIGHTS TO BE FIXED AND I AM A PASTOR AND DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY FOR LIGHTS. PLEASE HELP ME. The manufacturer is procrastinate to fix this life threatening dangerous recall and has been giving me an endless appointments to fix it and each time after I wait for the appointment they call to reschedule. These vehicles may have received improper service requiring adjustment of a rear suspension toe link. In rare cases, dealers or independent repair shops may not have followed GM’s published procedures for torquing the jam nut in the toe link adjusters to the proper specification. A loose toe link can cause the vehicle to sway or wander at highway speeds or allow water or other corrosive elements to enter the threads within the adjuster. If a toe link is improperly adjusted, corrosion combined with vehicle motion may eventually cause the threads within the link to wear and loosen. In very rare cases with continued use, the link could separate. Separation while the vehicle is being driven increases the risk of a crash. Our 2010 Cadillac SRX almost caused an accident. While climbing a hill reduced engine power warning on dash came on and suddenly engine power reduced so much car started rolling backwards into cars behind us.

I WAS ON AN INCLINE (DRIVEWAY) AT A RESTAURANT WHEN MY VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS WHILE IN DRIVE ALMOST HITTING THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. I NOTICED IT DOING THE SAME THING IN DRIVEWAYS WITH A SLOPE AND APPROACHING LIGHTS WITH HILLS. WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ON A SLOPE, SUCH AS A HIGHWAY RAMP THE TRUCK ROLL BACKWARDS WHEN RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE HEARD OF OTHER PEOPLE SAYING THEIR VEHICLE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL DOING THE SAME THING. DURING THE RESTAURANT INCIDENT THE PEOPLE BEHIND ME WAS SO IRATE THINKING I WAS JUST BACKING UP ON THEM. IT REMINDED ME OF HAVING A VEHICLE WITH A STICK SHIFT WHEN REMOVING YOUR FEET OFF OF THE BRAKE TO PRESS ON THE GAS AND IT GOING IN REVERSE INSTEAD OF GOING FORWARDS.

After hitting a small pot hole, the car would not come to a full stop…pushing n pumping the the brakes to the floor. This is the 3 time in the past 3 months this has happened. I have new brakes n new tires, why is this happening? It’s very scary, almost got in an accident for the brakes would not engage after hitting the pot hole at no more than 35 mph. My front passenger side brake keeps locking and overheating. I have replaced the calibers 2 times, my brake pads 2 times and the brake hose all in a period of 3 months. My back rear brake light also gets stuck and stays on after i put my car in park and turn off my car. In order for me to release it, I have to press down firmly on the brake pedal and or restart the car, drive around put it back in park and then press down firmly on the brake pedal for it to turn off. The back rear light staying on and the front passenger brakes overheating happen intermittently multiple times throughout the day or week with no particular pattern. When my front passenger brake overheats, it begins to smoke and shake/vibrate violently which causes me to have to pull the car over and wait about 15min for it to cool down before getting back on the road. No ABS lights, no Engine lights come on, only a message pops up on my dashboard that says "Breaks Overheating" and then it goes away on its own after 15minutes. I see that your website has a preliminary announcement but there should be a recall on this issue. on 9/9 I went to Radley Cadillac on 3421 Jeff Davis Hwy Fredericksburg VA 22401 for a diagnostic & they stated that my Brake Pedal Arm, EBC and BPMV need to be replaced b/c it keeps engaging & locking my front passenger brake. I also went to another repair shop for a 2nd opinion on 9/10 & paid another diag fee they stated the same thing, 4637 Mine Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 that the brake pedal arm will need to be replaced first as to they believe this is the underlying issue and the code C0161 was present. I was quoted over $2800 - $3500 to get this job done. Neither establishments mentioned this service announcement https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10141352-9999.pdf , i found this on my own by researching and googling this problem. I am asking that you deem this is a safety issue as to this involves braking and the safety of my vehicle. thank you.

My vehicle is not covered by the recall yet I had a faulty power steering pump hose which resulted in it spraying power steering fluid on my engine and eventually almost catching fire it finally broke and rendered the vehicle inoperable. All the heat and fluid damaged the pulley and caused the serpentine belt to fall off which driving.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently downshift without warning. After a few minutes, the contact would be able to resume normal driving upon restart. The contact called a dealer about the failure and was informed that unless a warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel, they could not diagnose the failure. Recently, the contact stated that while driving out of a parking lot, the vehicle would not shift out of first gear with the check engine warning light illuminated. After, calling her husband for assistance, her husband was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A POWER STEERING ISSUE TURNED OUT TO BE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY. ONLY IF I MADE A HARD TURN WOULD THE CAR SOUND LIKE THERE WAS GRINDING. I DID NOT NEED TO BE BRAKING FOR THE SOUND TO OCCUR. SOFT TURNS DID NOT RESULT IN THE GRINDING NOISE. THINKING THAT IT MIGHT BE THE BRAKES, WE TOOK IT TO A PEP BOYS SERVICE STATION. THE MECHANIC IMMEDIATELY CALLED US BACK TO SHOW US "A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN WE THOUGHT". OF THE THREE HUB ASSEMBLY BOLTS, ONE WAS MISSING AND THE OTHER TWO WERE LOOSE AND ON THEIR WAY TO FALLING OUT. THE MECHANIC ASKED IF WE HAD HAD ANY FRONT END WORK DONE. WE HAD NOT. WE SUSPECT THE BOLTS WERE NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY WHEN THE CAR WAS MADE AND OVER TIME THE BOLTS HAD WORKED THEIR WAY LOOSE TO THE POINT THAT THE ROTOR HAD OBVIOUS PLAY, CAUSING THE GRINDING NOISE. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED AND CONSIDER MYSELF VERY LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T LOSE THE WHEEL OFF OF THE CAR, ESPECIALLY SINCE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY ONLY THE DAY BEFORE. RENTAL CAR COMPANIES). IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE THAT A CAR MANUFACTURER CAN REFUSE TO OFFER A SPARE TIRE AS AN OPTION ON A NEW CAR. THIS IS TOTALLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND OF WATER MOVING AROUND THE GAS TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COLONIAL CADILLAC OF WOBURN (201 CAMBRIDGE RD, WOBURN, MA 01801; (781) 935-7000) WHO STATED THAT THE DRAINAGE FROM THE REAR HATCH WAS ROUTED INCORRECTLY CAUSING WATER TO SEEP INTO THE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE HOOD WAS REPLACED AT CADILLAC OF NORWOOD (700 PROVIDENCE HWY, NORWOOD, MA 02062; (781) 762-5900). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOON ROOF WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, WATER STARTED ENTERING THE VEHICLE FROM THE MOON ROOF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 145,000.

The vehicle was repaired however, the failure occurred. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that after opening the driver’s side door an unknown module was reset, and the contact was able to drive for several miles before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO, MY 2010 CADILLAC SRX STARTED VIBRATING SHUTTERING WHEN DOWN SHIFTING BETWEEN 20-25 MPH. I TOOK INTO DEALER WHO STATED NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION AT 84K MILES. JUST TODAY, IT STARTED VIBRATING HARD DOWN SHIFTING AT 40 MPH. I HAD TRACTION CONTROL ISSUES AROUND 61K MILES WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, SENSOR FAILURES, SUSPENSION AND ACCUMULATOR FAILURE AT 66K MILES AND A/C ACTUATOR FAULTY AT 48K MILES. MOST REPAIRS ON ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED AND THIS IS GMA TOP OF THE LINE.

THE FRONT LIGHT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY SEALS WORE OUT AND THE HEADLIGHT BLEW OUT WHILE WE WERE DRIVING HOME IN THE RAIN, AT NIGHT. WATER PENETRATED THE HEADLIGHT WHICH IS WHAT CAUSED THE LAMP TO BLOW OUT. I CALLED GM AND THEY PLAYED DUMB AND SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. YET AS I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED THERE WERE OTHER 2010 MODELS DRIVING IN WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. GM WOULD NOT EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO COVER THIS, AS THE WARRANTY WAS OVER 4 YEARS BUT STILL UNDER THE 50K MILES. AT $1400 EACH TO REPLACE THESE HEADLIGHTS, THEY NEED TO FIX THIS DEFECT. ON THE INTERSTATE (I-74 IN INDIANA) TRAVELING AT 70MPH THE REAR TOE LINK BROKE. MY CAR SWAYED TERRIBLY BACK AND FORTH AND ALMOST SPUN OUT COMPLETELY. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO A REPAIR SHOP (NOT CADILLAC) RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY. THEY SAID THE REAR TOE LINK WAS BROKEN AND THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER CADILLAC SAID BACK IN 2015 (BEFORE I OWNED THE VEHICLE) THERE WAS A RECALL AND THE TOE LINKS WERE "ADJUSTED". CLEARLY THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER CARS EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO ME THIS COULD HAVE HAD DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES. THE CAR IS NOW IN THE SHOP (AT SOME RANDOM SHOP IN INDIANA) GETTING FIXED BUT CADILLAC HAS SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR COST. BROUGHT MY 2010 CADILLAC SRX TO KING O'ROURKE CADILLAC IN SMITHTOWN, NY ON JAN 13,2015 FOR RECALL ISSUE CONCERNING THE REAR TOE LINK, GM RECALL #14557. CAR WAS THERE 2 DAYS TAKING CARE OF 4 RECALL ISSUES. ABOUT 4 WEEKS AND ROUGHLY 1000 MILES LATER, ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2015, I USED THE VEHICLE TO GO TO THE DOCTORS AND NOTICED NO PROBLEMS ON THE WAY. MY 7YR OLD SON WAS WITH ME. FROM THE DOCTORS I PROCEEDED TO MY HAIRDRESSER, STILL NO ISSUES. AT SOME POINT ON THE WAY HOME AFTER LEAVING THE HAIRDRESSER, I NOTICED THAT THE CAR FELT ABNORMALLY "FLOATY" AND WAS SWAYING OVER BUMPS. I STOPPED AT A 7-11 ON HOSPITAL ROAD AND NYS RT 27 IN EAST PATCHOGUE WHERE I ATTEMPTED TO INSPECT WHAT I COULD ON THE VEHICLE, MOSTLY THE CONDITION OF THE TIRES. I THEN LEFT 7-11 AND PROCEEDED TO ENTER THE ON RAMP FOR NYS RT27 EAST. AS I ACCELERATED IN THE ON RAMP, THE VEHICLE STARTED SWAYING MORE. AFTER THAT I HEARD A METALLIC SOUND AND THE REAR OF THE CAR STARTED TO JACKKNIFE. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND A POLICE OFFICER ENTERING THE HIGHWAY BEHIND ME STOPPED TO OFFER AID. AFTER A QUICK LOOK, HE STATED THAT THE CAR HAD A BROKEN AXLE. HE LEFT SINCE I HAD ALREADY CONTACTED MY HUSBAND AND HE WAS ON HIS WAY. MY HUSBAND ARRIVED SHORTY THEREAFTER AND INFORMED ME THAT HE CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. WHILE WAITING FOR ROADSIDE SERVICE TO ARRIVE HE ALSO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ALSO TOOK PHOTOS. HE SAID THE RIGHT REAR TOE LINK, WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN INSPECTED AND REPLACED AS NECESSARY AS PER THE RECALL NOTICE AT KING O'ROURKE 4 WEEKS EARLIER HAD SEPARATED. HE ALSO INDICATED THAT THE LINKS WERE NOT REPLACED AND FAILED DUE TO DAMAGED THREADING. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT TOWED THE CAR TO MY HOME. TOOK IT TO CADILLAC WHILE STILL UNDERWARRANY IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE. CLEANED OUTCONDENSARION AND SAID IT WAS ALL THEY COULD DO. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH I FOUND THE 14225 DOCUMENT AND THE PROCESS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DRAIN TUBE. I WAS ASTONISHED TO SEE THAT CALIFORNIA CARS ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE CAMPAIGN. HOW CAN THIS BE, EVIDENTLY IT DOESN'T RAIN IN CALIFORNIA BUT THE BULLETIN COVERED EUROPE, PUERTO RICO ETC., WHO WOULD PUBLISH A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DOCUMENT EXCLUDING STATES IN WHICH THE SAME CARS WERE PURCHASED, AND WOULD BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM IDENTIFIED IN THE SATISFACTION BULLETIN. THE MECHANIC CHECKED ALL FUSES AND ENTIRE BREAKING SYSTEM AND FOUND NOTHING IN NEED OF REPAIR AND ALL SYSTEMS WORKING PROPERLY. ON TOP THAT, I GET OFF WORK ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON ALL I SEE IS WATER POURING FROM THE ROOF RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE VISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONTO MY SEAT. I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED...I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS,AND OF COURSE, IT ISN'T FOR MY CAR. I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. ON 8/22 /2015 I OPENED THE REAR HATCH AS I ALWAYS DO WITH THE FAB I WENT TO GET SOMETHING OUT THE REAR HATCH CAME DOWN PUSHED ME TO THE GROUND HITTING ME IN MY NECK WHICH I HAD SURGERY 18 YEARS AGO THE REAR HITCH CONTINUED TO GO UP AND DOWN .IT GOES UP STAYS FOR FEW SECONDS THE COMES DOWN FAST HALF WAY AND GOES UP AND DOWN.CADILLAC SEND A INVESTIGATOR TO MY HOME AND HE COULD NOT GET THE HATCH TO STAY UP I HAVE BOUGHT SINCE 1975 OVER 25 CADILLACS AND DULLEY PICKUPS OVER THE YEARS YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE TREATED ME BETTER NEEDLESS TO SAY SINCE THIS STARTED I HAVE BOUGHT 4 MERCEDES BENZ AND HAVE TO SAY WHAT A DIFFERENCE .

THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT PLUG ASSEMBLY ON THE 2010 SRX. THE FAULTY PLUG WOULD CAUSE THE LOWBEAM HEADLIGHTS TO NOT FUNCTION. THE PLUG WOULD ALLOW FOR THE HIGH BEAMS TO WORK PROPERLY BUT THE PLUG WOULD NOT ALLOW THE HALOGEN LOWBEAM SAID TO WORK. DAVID TAYLOR SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THIS PROBLEM HOWEVER A FEW YEARS LATER THE LOWBEAM HEADLIGHTS BECAME COMPLETELY INOPERABLE CAUSING THE DRIVER TO HAVE ZERO VISIBILITY WHILE USING THE HEADLIGHTS. THE HIGHBEAMS WOULD WORK PERFECTLY. I ARGUED WITH THE DEALER THAT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PLUG HOWEVER THEY INSISTED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY BECAUSE OF FAULTY MANUFACTURING ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER THE LOW BEAM LENS AND IN TURN CLOUD THE LENS. I INSISTED OTHERWISE BECAUSE THERE WAS VISIBLE CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY BUT NONE IN THE LOW BEAMS. UNFORTUNATELY THIS SITUATION HAD ME OVER A BARREL BECAUSE THE DRIVER HAD ALREADY BEEN RISKING THEIR LIFE AND OTHER DRIVERS LIVES ON THE ROAD WHILE BEING FORCED TO DRIVE WITH ONLY HIGH BEAMS OR WITHOUT ANY ILLUMINATION OF THE ROAD WAY AT ALL. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO SPEND 1500 DOLLARS ON HEADLIGHTS. NOW REGARDLESS OF THE REASON WHETHER IT WAS A FAULTY MANUFACTURED PLUG OR A FAULTY SEALED MANUFACTURED HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY THE PROBLEMS IT POSES ARE THE SAME. CADILLAC HAS A POORLY MANUFACTURED HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND PLUG ASSEMBLY THAT ARE ENDANGERING PEOPLE'S LIVES. WHEN THESE LOW BEAMS BECOME INOPERABLE THE DRIVER HAS ZERO VISIBILITY AND ARE FORCED TO CHOOSE BETWEEN DRIVING WITH THEIR HIGHBEAMS ON AND BLINDING OTHER DRIVERS OR DRIVING WITHOUT ANY HEADLIGHTS WHICH COULD CAUSE DEATH OR BODILY HARM TO THE DRIVER OR ANY PROPERTY OR PERSONS THAT THE DRIVER CANNOT SEE. THE REAR LIFT GATE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. THE SUNROOF DRAIN APPARENTLY IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. IT DOES NOT DRAIN AND AS A RESULT ALLOWS WATER TO SHORT OUT AND DESTROY THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED WAS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE DRAIN THAT SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT IT DID NOT. THE REAR LIFT GATE BECAME INOPERABLE AGAIN THIS TIME BECOMING COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. THE CADILLAC DEALER DAVID TAYLOR BLAMED THE SUNROOF DRAIN ONCE AGAIN WOULD NOT WARRANTY THEIR PAST WORK NOR THEIR FUTURE ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM SAYING ONLY THAT AT ANY TIME THE DRAIN COULD BECOME CLOGGED AGAIN CAUSING THE CONTROL MODULE TO SHORT OUT AND IF IT WAS PAST ONE YEAR OR TWELVE THOUSAND MILES THAT I WOULD JUST HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER GRAND TO HAVE IT FIXED AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH WHEN HE APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD UNTIL CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. * Component systems ABS, braking, steering, loud noises in rear wheels, grinding, are all malfunctioning. The left rear tire was tited while driving, I was told it was unsafe to drive. It's currently at the dealership. * Safety concerns are in the documentation. There are others in Add. Encl. VI - X. Due to the download restrictions, I was unable to submit. * The problems were also noticed by another service center wile putting tires on. * Warning Lights are consistently on: ABS, Engine, Stabilitrac. I can't remember the exact initial date, I know it's been years. I have called this to the attention to the service manager every time the car has been repaired. I have always taken it to the same Cadillac dealership and it's been the same service manager. I am sure, through all of the service records, the initial date can be found. It's been always overlooked. I paid cash for it at another non-Cadillac dealership in 12/2017. I am tired of being taken advantage of. Please help? Your immediate attention will be kindly appreciated. Thank you!

Problem: My 2010 Cadillac SRX with 87,000 miles been having issues with downshifting , my vehicle would not shift to second or higher gear while driving and makes it very unsafe on the road. When this occurs I would try to pull over safely to park. My SRX would be drivable if shifted to park and then shift to drive or if i turn off the vehicle and re-start. I have been back and forth going to my mechanic( s). I was told possible TCM issues but no definite diagnosis. I have been reading a lot of 2010 SRX owners on Cadillac forums with exact similar issues and decided on making this official to report to NHTSA hoping it would open an investigation and figure out the defect on this type vehicle. My vehicle issue or problem started to become symptomatic around year 2021 and my SRX has around 63,000 miles on it. I keep up with the regular scheduled maintenance and upkeep, The SRX looks like new and would like to keep it longer as the rest of the vehicle is kept it's appearance and other parts well. I have reported this issue directly to the main contact number @Cadillac company and they told me my vehicle VIN is not included on the safety recall with shifting issues and offered me a $100.00 for repair coupon instead for future repairs. i have spent thousands of dollars fixing the unidentifiable issue whenever the engine light comes on and throws out a code but my downshifting problem continues.

I am not a mechanic so I don’t know what All I know is what I like I experienced and when I was driving down the road, my Cadillac shut off like it had no power to it no power steering no lights no dash lights no warning lights or nothing pulled over my car will not start back up I had to have it towed when I got home and looked inside the casing around. The battery had melted with a bunch of wires and tubing that was on top of the battery completely melted everything inside.

The first things to go were the headlights, rearview camera & the seatbelt wouldn't fully retract. Then ALL the dash warning lights flashed like a Christmas tree; the radio, heat & AC settings changed on their own; & the navigation screen scrambled into pixels like a crashed computer screen! These issues went on sporadically for months. I was convinced the vehicle was possessed. It seemed things would act up when it rained, was damp or humid. After spending thousands, things got worse. My windows, sun roof & hatchback opened on their own & wouldn't close. I'd have to pull over, turn off the engine, wait a while & restart it like a reset, which was rarely successful the first time. I haven't opened my sunroof in over a year. I mentioned all of the above to the dealership mechanics during regular maintenance & repairs but they could never find the source of the problem, did what they could & said this model was notorious for having electrical issues. Then for weeks, I'd find my hatchback open every morning. I'd close it. Minutes later, it would open again & again & again. I stood there in disbelief. This became a neighborhood joke & was happening even more than I realized because my neighbors had been closing it whenever they saw it open. They thought the vehicle was possessed, as well. After the hatchback, they replaced the module. Shortly after that, I found a puddle on the driver's side floor. I didn't notice it right away because of the winter weather. I removed the floor mats to clean them & saw the puddle. Whatever they did must have rerouted the water & while sitting in the vehicle during a storm, I found one, which I filmed. The warning lights started again, but I don't want to spend thousands more on this vehicle. According to Carvana, it's only worth ~$2000. I've read that the sunroof leak is prevalent in the 2010 SRX & other models. Is there anything you can do?

Hello, I wanted to let you all know that I have a 2010 cadillac srx, to which in the past these type of vehicles had had a transmissions issues, thus recalled...Well the vehicle I own, is doing and having the same transmission problem/issues...and Yet it is not under the Recall list...The Cadillac dealership, has my car and is wanting to open up the transmission and inspect it for almost 2 thousand dollars( i like on a dissability montly income) ..I had this same car diagnosed at 2 different auto shops , whom provided me with the folllowing 2 error codes P076 and p0700, which are the transmision control solenoid and the transmission control module...but back at the cadillac service dealership , here in amarillo tx...they want almos $6000 for a new transmission replacement or half of that for rebuilding the current one...When i strongly believe that my car is part of the same recall , being the same model and same similiar transmission issues

Service rear axle message is displayed on the driver information center. The code indicates AWD has been turned off which can put my safety and or safety of others at risk. Service Bulletin (PI0703B) was issued for numerous 2010 Cadillac SRX, unfortunately the recall wasn't issued for my vehicle (VIN). The service bulletin was for DTC c0407 with symptom code 64, the exact same code that was found with my vehicle.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact called another local dealer, Chevrolet Center Inc (101 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33880, (863) 294-7371) who also confirmed that parts were not available The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 141,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact stated that there were electrical shortages on the dashboard, the smoke odor was detected while starting the vehicle, water was getting into the liftgate, all the warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle would hydroplane when it rained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and another dealer, Herman Jenkins Motors Inc (2030 W Reelfoot Ave, Union City, TN 38261) on separate occasions for an unknown diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that all of the recalls for the vehicle were repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE STABILITRAK AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, AS WELL AS OTHER LIGHTS. THE BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP.

ADDITIONALLY, WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT, VEHICLE SPUTTERED AND SHOOK LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE. THIS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. STABILITY TRAC LIGHT COME ON DURING THIS TIME BUT THEN WENT OUT. 05.01.15, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER TO ACCELERATE OVER 40 MPH AND HAS AN AWFUL ROARING NOISE. 05.05.15, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP & IS CURRENTLY THERE. RECEIVED CALL FROM DEALERSHIP THAT THE WHEEL HUB BEARINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED @ $1,100.00+. PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT HAS ONGOING ELECTRICAL SHORT GOES OUT INDICATES ON THE INFORMATION CENTER THEN WILL RANDOMLY COME BACK ON TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER NO FIX. ONE OF FIRST NEW SRXS SOLD IN 2009. STARTED WITH INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF POWER WINDOWS, FOLLOWED BY FAILURE OF NAV/RADIO DISPLAY AND EVENTUALLY REPLACED. THEN ISSUES WITH BACK-UP CAMERA SCREEN WOULD NOT POP UP DURING REVERSE SO COULD NOT SEE OR USE CAMERA. TECHNICIANS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS BECAUSE THE CONNECTION PORT TO CAR'S COMPUTER FAILED. SEATS RIPPED OUT AND CONNECTION REBUILT. AUTO REAR TAILGATE WITH SAFETY SENSE CLOSE FAILED AS I REACHED INTO GET PACKAGE OUT AS TAILGATE WENT UP. SUPPORTS FAILED CAUSING TAILGATE TO CRASH DOWN ON ME TRAPPING ME WITH LEGS OUT BACK OF CAR. NOT ONLY DID SUPPORTS STRUT FAIL BUT SAFETY CLOSE MECHANISM FAILED. WIFE HAD TO MANUALLY RELEASE AND RAISE TAILGATE TO FREE ME. THEN AC FAILED ON WAY BACK FROM LONG TRIP. COMPUTER ISSUE AND PART FAILURE ACCORDING TO DEALER. TURNED OUT TO BE COMPUTER FAILURE FOR ENGINE. LAST WEEKEND WHILE BACKING UP WATCHING MOTHER AND CHILD THROUGH BACK-UP CAMERA PASS BEHIND ME , CAMERA FAILED SCREEN WENT BLANK BUT STILL SHOWED PARK ASSIST SYMBOLS. I WAS REAR-ENDED WHILE I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO MY REAR BUMPER HOWEVER THIS CAUSED NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH MY CAR IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER. I EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND THEN IT GOT WORSE. I LOST STEERING, BRAKES AND AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CAR BECAME IMMOBILE AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I PURCHASED MY 2010 SRX (USED) IN OCT 2011 FROM KING ACURA IN BIRMINGHAM, AL. IT HAD 23,000 MILES ON IT AT TIME OF PURCHASE. FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH A RUBBING NOISE WHEN THE WHEELS ARE TURNED TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE NOISE SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AT OUR LOCAL CADILLAC DEALERSHIP, AND THOUGH THEY DID HEAR THE RUBBING NOISE, THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE A CAUSE. IN ADDITION TO BEING VERY ANNOYING, ESPECIALLY AFTER PAYING PREMIUM PRICES FOR A LUXURY VEHICLE, I AM CONCERNED THERE MAY BE A STRUCTURAL PROBLEM THAT WILL RESULT IN ACCIDENT AND INJURY. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2010 CADILLAC SRX IN DECEMBER 2010 FROM CREST CARS (CADILLAC AUTHORIZED DEALER) AND THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING GOOD, EXCEPT FOR THE BRAKE. THE BRAKE MAKES LOTS OF UNACCEPTABLE GRINDING AND RATTLE NOISE IMMEDIATELY WHENEVER I START TO RELEASE THE BRAKE OR APPLY IT PARTIALLY. HERE'S HOW TO DUPLICATE THE NOISE: - IF THE CAR STOPS, RELEASE THE BRAKE GRADUALLY. THE GRINDING NOISE APPEARS VERY LOUD, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CAR IS IN A SLOPE SLIGHTLY DOWNWARD. - IF THE CAR IS MOVING, APPLY THE BRAKE TO STOP IT. ABOUT LESS THAN ONE SECOND BEFORE THE CAR GOES TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE GRINDING NOISE RE-APPEARS. I CONTACTED CREST CAR (THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR) AND HAVE THEM TAKE A LOOK TO FIX IT. AFTER ABOUT 2 DAYS, THEY RETURNED THE CAR TO ME, SAYING THAT THEY "CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE NOISE". HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION I RECEIVED FROM DEALER: - THE SERVICE ADVISOR AGREED WITH ME THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE IS VALID. - THE SERVICE ADVISOR AGREED THAT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO STOP THE NOISE WITH THE BRAKE - THE TECHNICIAN STATED IN THE PAPERWORK THAT THE NOISE FROM THE BRAKE ALSO COMES FROM OTHER 2010 SRX CROSSOVER. SERVICE ADVISOR REFUSED TO HONOR WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE NOISE. THE CAR IS ONLY 3-4 MONTHS OLD AND UNDER FULL WARRANTY. WHENEVER I APPLY THE BRAKE, I TRY TO PRESS HARDER THAN I SHOULD HAVE. TO OVERCOME THE NOISE, WHENEVER I TRY TO RELEASE THE BREAK, I TRY TO RELEASE COMPLETELY INSTEAD OF GRADUALLY RELEASING IT.
