The headlight low beam illumination is extremely dangerous for driving at night. Very poor illumination distance and very poor overall lighting. Can barely even see pedestrians walking if on the side or crossing the road, VERY DANGEROUS!! Have to turn on high-beams when possible just to see at night.

I own a 2011 Cadillac SRX and have experienced a serious issue with the headlights. Over time, the headlights became extremely dim, making it difficult and dangerous to drive at night. This was not due to the bulbs themselves, but rather an issue with the headlight housing or design, which many other Cadillac SRX owners have also reported. The visibility is so poor that it creates a major safety concern for myself, my passengers, and others on the road. Despite the widespread nature of this issue and media coverage (including WSOC-TV Channel 9’s investigation), there has been no recall or extended warranty to cover the cost of repairs, which can be significant. I am submitting this complaint in hopes that the NHTSA will investigate and consider opening a recall to address this recurring and dangerous issue with the 2011 SRX headlight system.

The car is extremely unsafe. The headlights are dim no matter how many times they are replaced. I have to drive with high beams on.

The headlights are failing at night creating a safety concern. The first time I drove at night the headlights were like not even on. I about hit someone when they approached me and I dimmed my lights. You can see only on brights. Performed Google search to learn many of these, if not all, have faulty headlights. Purchased this vehicle in March 2024, contacted dealer was advised it’s not covered under warranty. Was advised to take it to the GM dealer, they want $1200 each side to fix and what I’ve read this doesn’t fix the faulty headlights either. Help, can’t drive at night at all and I’m disabled and unable to repair.

Trying to get recall performed but keep being refused. McGuires Chevrolet of Newton,N.J. won't perform recall because I did not buy it from them. Had Cadillac schedule another dealer, Johnson Cadillac to perform recall and they called the day before appointment to cancel. Said they did not have the parts or the alignment machine to perform recall. Why are dealers allowed to not perform a safety recall? Any General Motors dealer should be required to fix said vehicle.

"Rear Axle Service" light remains on after replacement of rear toelinks due to manufacturer recall. Rear differential clutch control module issue. Differential clutch oil leaking into the rear differential through the limited slip differential clutch. Oil pump was not replaced.

2011 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO GM SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE BEING ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ON THE THIRD DAY OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, IT BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS WHILE THE DRIVER WAS APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED.

I’m sending in this complaint which is a common problem with the Cadillac SRX. The ABS breaks go soft when activated. I have no breaks , the breaks go to the floor. This is so dangerous. Now I have to turn the car off and pump the breaks. This sometimes take a whole day to get the breaks back. Why isn’t this a recall??

This is the 3rd time this happens in the life of our Cadillac SRX great vehicle it’s been in the family for years although the brake pedal goes out or not responsive in an event of going over a high speed bump or some what deep pothole on the roadway at a speed about 35mph very dangerous when the first time it happened we lost brake power this is a know fact about this vehicle. The vehicle is not being moved as of right now because of this issue still exists. Others have similar issues with this vehicle and to my friends at GM this is NOT cool can you help

Brakes just randomly go out and pedal becomes spongy. Then, the brakes start working again. The brakes become almost intermittent. I have seen that this is a common problem with this vehicle. My family was almost seriously injured due to not having brakes to stop the car, especially at 70 mph. I have had it at the dealer and have changed everything possible to correct the problem. Brake system has been inspected by GM certified mechanic. No warning was ever evident when problem occurred

I'm stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. I received a recall notice in August 2021 and again in November 2021 and reached out to Cadillac to find out how to resolve this issue. I was told that someone from Cadillac would contact me. I received another notice November 2022 due to the recall not being resolved. I'm not getting a response from Cadillac. How do I resolve this issue being stationed overseas? I'm not scheduled to return until February 2025 and the Government will not ship a vehicle if there are any RECALL notices on the vehicle. The GM safety recall is N212340980. Requesting assistance in resolving this RECALL notice. Thank you.

This Vehicle has a design flaw with sunroof which leaks water into the car from floor board passenger side. Sunroof Drain lines undersized even for a standard sized sunroof. As of result of this, the drain lines, at best are barely adequate for light rain and intense rain cloggs and rain enters the car. I have taken to dealer twice paid $651.00 repair and not fixed. Dealer should have correct information to repair the drain issue. Cadillac of Novi, Service Manager will not return phone calls. Very Poor service for a Luxury product.

I opened the lift gate with the fob and went to put my groceries in the back and hydraulic lift gate started closing on me almost immediately. I had to physically force the hatch up! If it had been my wife it could have pinned her in and trapped her. This is a major issue it could kill a child! I know it is an older car but they should have built in a force safety switch to disable the hydraulics.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE USING THE REMOTE KEY FOB, THE HATCH FAILED TO OPERATE. THE HATCH HAD TO BE OPENED MANUALLY AND WOULD CLOSE INDEPENDENTLY. I WAS PARKED IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY AND OPENED THE REAR LIFTGATE TO REMOVE MY SON'S HOCKEY BAG FROM THE BACK. I WAS LEANING IN PRETTY FAR BECAUSE THE BAG HAD SLID TOWARD THE BACKSEAT, WHEN THE LIFTGATE CLOSED ON ITS OWN. I HAD NOT PRESSED ANY BUTTONS, NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE VEHICLE OR AROUND. THE LIFTGATE HIT ME IN THE BACK AND PUSHED ME FORWARD AS IT CONTINUED TO CLOSE. I WAS PINNED (WITH HALF OF MY BODY IN THE CAR AND HALF OUT OF THE CAR) AND THE DOOR WAS CONTINUING TO CLOSE. MY LEFT ARM WAS STUCK UNDER ME. I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO TURN SLIGHTLY AND USED MY RIGHT ARM AND RIGHT HIP TO TRY TO OPN THE HATCH. IT DID EVENTUALLY START TO OPEN. I WAS RELIEVED AND TOOK A DEEP BREATH AND THEN STARTED TO RETRIEVE THE HOCKEY BACK WHEN I REALIZED IT HAD CLOSED AGAIN. THIS TIME WAS EVEN WORSE AS I WAS COMPLETELY PINNED. I TRIED TO ROTATE AND USE MY RIGHT HIP AGAIN. I HONESTLY THOUGH MY CAR WAS GOING TO KILL ME. THE DOOR DID EVENTUALLY OPEN AGAIN AND THAT TIME I IMMEDIATELY GOT OUT OF THE CAR. I WATCHED AS THE HATCH OPENED AND THEN IMMEDIATELY CLOSED AGAIN. (THANKFULLY, WITHOUT ME IN IT THIS TIME.) I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DEALERSHIP. THEY MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME IN ONE WEEK, SO I DID NOT USE THE HATCH AGAIN. I ALSO CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AS I WAS VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD KILL SOMEONE. THE AGENT SAID SHE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED FREQUENTLY AND THAT THE RIGHT STRUT IN MY LIFTGATE WOULD BE THE PROBLEM. SURE ENOUGH THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM AND REPAIRED IT AT MY EXPENSE. NOW, GM HAS PASSED ME FROM AGENT TO AGENT AND HAS DONE NOTHING FOR ME. THEY SAID THAT I "HAVE AN OBLIGATION AND RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THE SUBJECT VEHICLE AND ITS RELATED COMPONENTS ARE MAINTAINED AND PRESERVED IN THEIR IMMEDIATE POST-INCIDENT CONDITION.." ON 8-13-18 WE HAD HEAVY RAIN AND NEXT DAY THE LIFT GATE WOULD NOT OPERATE. CAR UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT DEALER SAID NOT COVERED BECAUSE DRAIN TUBE TO PANORAMIC ROOF IS THE PROBLEM, AND THEY CRACK CAUSING LEAK. ONLY FRONT DRAINS WERE RECALLED, NOT REAR, AND THE LEAKING TUBES ALLOWED WATER INTO LIFT GATE MODULE AND SHORTED IT OUT. CALLED INSURANCE COMPANY FOR COVERGAGE UNDER COMPREHENSIVE, AND AFTER INSPECTION THE ADJUSTER SAID ITS A WARRANTY CLAIM. WITHOUT LIFT GATE MODULE THE REAR LIFT GATE CANNOT BE OPENED EITHER ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. MUST BE REPAIRED FOR SAFETY, BUT COST IS $2000. DEALER SAYS THEY SEE 12 CARS A MONTH WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND ADJUSTER SAYS IT IS SO FREQUENT THAT THEY SEE AT LEAST 3 A MONTH JUST FOR THEIR COMPANY (GEICO).

DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED. DETERMINED IGNITER FAILURE DUE TO MOISTURE INTRUSION INTO HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. REPAIR COST $1900. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY CADILLAC. THOUGH REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY WAS GM OEM, THE ILLUMINATION PATTERN ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS 24"-36" SHORTER THAN PASSENGER SIDE THAT HAS ORIGINAL ASSEMBLY FROM NOVEMBER, 2010 BUILD DATE. MANUAL AND COMPUTER ADJUSTMENT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND NO PROBLEMS REPORTED WHEN DIAGNOSTICS RUN.

We bought a 2011 Cadillac SRX from Carvana April 4th of 2022 later that same year in October 22 the engine lights came on and I had to replace the water pump and the belt twice. I call them in October and the rep said it is what is. Now in January 2023 I need a new engine. I took it to 2 different repair shops, and they said same the same thing I need a new engine. So, I took it to the Cadillac dealership to make sure and they told me that this car has never been service in a very long time. Dealership said he never saw anything like this, and dealership also said this car had problems before it got to me, I have been going back and forth with Carvana with no end sight. I have all the records of the services that has been done since we had it. Claimed loss: $15,453 Desired outcome: Carvana needs to pay bridgeCrest financial the money we borrowed from them. They can pick up this junk car that don't work. Needs an engine It didn't pass inspection. It's been in my garage ever since

SENATOR SHERROD BROWN WRITES IN BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT REGARDING THEIR 2011 CADILLAC SRX. CONSTITUENT STATED THAT THEIR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALERSHIP TURNED OFF THE FAILURE CODES JUST BEFORE SELLING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO NEED AT LEAST $6,000.00 WORTH OF REPAIRS, SHORTLY AFTER BEING PURSCHASED. THE REAR AXLE AND EMISSIONS WERE POINT OF FAILURES.

Engine timing chain had stretched and jumped a notch on the sprocket, which caused the check engine light to come on, and that's the only reason I knew there was an issue. If I had kept driving it and it jumped another notch, it would have stalled, making the vehicle hard to control. I've read numerous other owners have had the same issue with this vehicle.

It is a common issue with 2010-2016 Cadillac SRX for the reflective material on the inside of the low beam halogen projectors to flake off, causing extreme decreased visibility at night, especially in inclement weather.

Windshield wipers stopped working while in rain storm. Motor was still running but the wiper transmission was disconnected from motor. My 2 year old grandson was in the car at time of failure. They were able to safely return home. This incident could have caused a serious accident.

I was in an accident 2 weeks ago where 0 airbags were deployed. I swerved to miss an elk, traveling about 55-60 mph, tapped it on the passenger front side and made me spin out and collide with a rock wall on the driver side. The whole front driver side was affected and driver door couldn’t be opened. 0 airbags deployed, message displayed “service airbags”. No message was ever displayed prior to accident. Car was deemed total loss by Progressive. There is a police report and car is in Progressive’s possession.

AT APPROXIMATELY MILEPOST 62.0 UNIT ONE TRAVELING IN LANE #3 (LANE #3, BEING THE THIRD LANE FROM THE MEDIAN WALL) LOST CONTROL, SPUN, AND STRUCK THE REAR DRIVER QUARTER PANEL OF UNIT TWO TRAVELING IN LANE #3. THE IMPACT FORCED FORWARD UNIT TWO INTO THE REAR OF UNIT THREE TRAVELING IN LANE #1. THEN UNIT TWO SPUN, DROVE OFF THE ROADWAY ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND STRUCK THE CONCRETE BARRIER. THE DRIVERS HAD NO RECOLLECTIONS REFERENCING THE ACCIDENT. My car was nr.2 in police report. I hit concrete barrier and my airbags didn't deploy. Car is a total loss. not repairable. My head landed on steering will. I have fractures nasal bone and my cartilage was moved. I will need have a surgery. Other injury are lower back , knee and chest. No air bags were deployed upon impact. The contact suffered a broken nose from hitting the steering wheel upon impact and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. A police report was filed. The exterior housing units prematurely wear out and allow moisture to cause failures of the lights. The makes driving at night hard, because you can barely see. GM tried to give some customers a rebate, but this required owners to pay out of pocket at first for repairs, and this causes me an undue burden because I don't have that kind of money. This is very dangerous and GM should recall this.

Just randomly if I have to brake the brakes go all the way to the floor. Sometimes have to pump the brakes to stop. Last couple of days when there’s rough road it feels like the brakes are on when accelerating and car begins to shake.

Master brake cylinder/ABS Hydraulic unit failed. I noticed that while driving my vehicle at 35mph coming to a stop I had to press or pump my brakes to come to a complete stop. One one instance I had to brake abruptly and the brakes failed (pressed to the floor) so I swerved onto the shoulder to not cause a rear end collision. There was no warning or anything, I took the car to the dealer and was told that it would cost me $1700 to repair and that the problem is wear and tear. After doing my research I'm now discovering that it is a known problem. Please do your research because THIS IS A SCARY situation.

On multiple occasions, when I have had to panic brake, either due to snowy weather conditions or when I had to brake hard while on the highway, the brake pedal loses pressure and I am barely able to stop for some time, thereafter. Later, the pressure returns to normal. I have taken the vehicle to the repair shop on multiple occasions, and the techs have been unable to reproduce the problem. This is a serious problem, and could lead to serious injury or death. Please issue a recall immediately and force the manufacturer to fix this. Thank you.

THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS IN SEPTEMBER 2011. I WAS HEADED TO ITALY AND HAD TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO ATLANTA SO IT COULD BE INSPECTED AND SHIPPED. THE DAY BEFORE I RECEIVED A TOTAL SERVICE FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THAT MORNING I PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION TO GET GAS. AS I TRIED TO PULL OFF, THE STABILI TRAK LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES BEFORE TURNING IT BACK ON. AFTER TURNING THE CAR ON I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND CONTINUE ON MY TRIP. THE STABILI TRAK LIGHT TURNED OFF HOWEVER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. My 2011 SRX has lost brake power 4 times in the past 2 years. I reported to GM as other owners had this complaint. I hit the brakes at low speed when going into a parking lot incline and lose my brake power. The brakes go to the floor and eventually the car stops. Thankfully no other car was near me as the car is hard to stop. I also slammed on my brakes around 25-30 mph as another car was coming head on in my lane. Once the collision was avoided I tried to stop at a red light. Again the brakes went to the floor without stopping the vehicle immediately. My auto mechanic test drove it everywhere to see if he could reproduce the issue, but could not . I contacted GM and they told me to take it to a dealership which I did. They could not find anything but bled the brake lines hoping this was the issue. It was not. I went over an inclined manhole on a side street going about 5-10 miles and afterwards the brakes were very soft. I read in the SRX cadillac forum that others that had the same issue said to try and pump the brakes. I did this and the brake power re- engaged. This is a scary safety issue as I am always wondering if my brakes will stop the car. I only have 80000 miles on this car and keep routine maintenance. I also have an issue with the condensation of the headlights that dims the lighting on the headlights. I had received a letter ( Court Settlement Claim) stating if I had an issue to bring it to a dealership and they would look at it. If it did have this issue the headlight company would pay for some repair. I didn’t go since my headlight issue didn’t start until later . When I contacted the dealership I was told that offer expired along with GM confirming this. It is extremely frustrating and scary to know other owners have the same complaints and GM doesn’t do any safety recalls. These 2 issues are a big safety issue and I pray it never causes an accident.

Received Recall notice (#N212340980), contacted several dealers and ALL said the same thing: if you did not purchase the car here, then appointments are six weeks out! Finally, went Tremonte Cadillac as they were kind enough to take the car in sooner; brought the car there and within fifteen minutes I was told "you are all set", thanked him and left. On the way home the "Service Rear Axle" message came back up again! Being the weekend I did not contact the dealer. The next day the light came back on and the vehicle information center would not display. Contacted the dealer and they said to bring the car back. The fact that the dealer is 45mins away, my difficult work schedule and being told the car can be driven, you just lose the AWD capability, I opted to wait till the fall. Also several attempts to contact Cadillac by phone, email and letters-with not one response! I am writing you at this time as we detected the car pulling to the right and loss of AWD system. THE CAR IS SWAYING BACK AND FORTH AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH ON GOOD ROADS. HAD MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE SAID SHOCKS WERE GOOD AND EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE. AFTER RESEARCHING ON INTERNET I FOUND THAT OTHERS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR TOE LINK ADJUSTER. SO I LOOKED AT MINE AND FOUND IT LOOSE BUT THE NUT HAS NOT BACKED OFF. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph and approaching traffic ahead the driver depressed the brake pedal to stop and the vehicle suddenly lost control, spun out, and drove into the opposite lane before two other vehicles crashed into it. During the crash, the vehicle was destroyed. The front passenger sustained a left shoulder injury which required medical treatment. No further injury information was available. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The VIN search confirmed that the NHTSA recall campaign 21v473000(suspension) was present. The contact believed the incident was related to the unrepaired recall. The contact stated that the ABS and Stabili Trak warning lights illuminated and the message to service Stabili Trak was displayed. The contact stated he noticed the failure for the first time 02/07/2019, and the vehicle was taken to the King O'Rourke Cadillac (756 Smithtown Bypass #101, Smithtown, NY 11787) where the vehicle was repaired. However, the contact did not know what was repaired. The contact stated that upon retrieving the vehicle he noticed that the warning lights were still illuminated. The dealer informed him that it could be a voltage issue and the battery was replaced. However, the failure reoccurred 01/07/2020. The vehicle was then taken to Bical Cadillac (2859 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11234) where an unknown diagnosis and repairs were completed on the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was resolved for a while but reoccurred on 11/15/2021. The contact stated that he received notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) and the vehicle was taken back to Bical Cadillac to be serviced for the recall. The contact stated that immediately after departing the dealer the same warning lights and service messages illuminated. The contact stated he called the dealer and was advised that if he brought the vehicle back to the dealer, he would be responsible for payment. 2011Cadillac SRX owner. Car has know water issue that collected inside car at the time of rain ruining the tailgate module. Since that time I have had all of the warning lights as indicated in the recall of August 2021. Stabilitrak Service, Slippery Roads, Shut off engine now etc. I have been waiting for the recall part to be produced since August and have been without a vehicle. I contacted Arrowhead Cadillac a few weeks ago and learned part not in production. It is going on 60 days of me having a vehicle that I can not sell or trade or use. I contacted the main Cadillac customer service and was informed that I could rent a car on my own and submit request for payment months from now- or I could take the car in to have the "bolt tightened" (recall bolt that I have symptoms listed in recall to not drive) . I informed that both of these solutions are a no go for me- especially the one suggesting I have the bolt tightened- at the risk of me and my family's lives. The CSR recommended that I have the SRX towed to local dealership. I said I would and it can sit there- not having it towed back and forth. I contacted the Arrowhead dealership in Arizona and agreed to have the car towed for evaluation, and would be stored at the location. With no time frame of when I will have a working vehicle. I later decided to look at cars on the lot since I was planning on purchasing a car next year. I contacted Arrowhead sales and explained- they said would consider giving me a trade in of $ 3-4,000 and no vehicle deal although. The car can be should at $8,000 and from the law that I can determine if the dealership is unable to provide a repair in a timely manner that they would need to provide replacement at full value. I am a person that owns a car that is inoperable in a timely manner. I feel that Cadillac suggesting I have the Bad part tightened- and then not compensating me for the re cost or cost of the vehicle is a complaint worth reporting.

I received a recall notice for a safety issue with my cadillac srx 2011. Recall #N212340980 regarding the real toe link. My vehicle is already showing signs of this issue and has been for over 2 years. Cadillac is not prepared to handle this issue. I called to make an appointment and was told they do not have the parts yet to fix the issue. Not to drive my car for safety reasons. I do not have access to another car, they cannot offer a loaner vehicle or a rental, so they so. I have doctors appointments, I need to use my vehicle. I am awaiting a reply from the dealership as to when the parts will be available, in the meantime I have to pray my car does not fall apart.

a few months ago I started noticing a loud noise coming from the rear of my vehicle. Then my Service Traction Control light, Service Stabilitrak light, Service Rear Axle light, the Stabilitrak malfunction indicator lamp all come on my display screen. I took my tires to have them rotated and the rear tires were unevenly worn I was told. The other thing that is happening is that my steering wheel does not stay going straight, it veers off to the right.

THIS WINTER IT WAS FREEZING, MY 2011 SRX CADILLAC DISPLAYED A "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" MESSAGE, AND I COULDN'T GO OVER ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. AFTER A SHORT TIME, I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND HAD POWER BACK. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THEY SAID IT WAS MY THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. The brake light, the ABS light and the stability control light came in my vehicle and GM says that the EBCM needs to be replaced this should be a recall because a lot of cars are having this issue and they don’t have the parts available, is been more than a year I’m driving like that.

The sunroof drain tubes become plugged and if you can actually find someone to fix the error, its horribly expensive. Water enters the vehicle, causing mold on the back seat floors. This issue has also shorted out my trunk release consistent with other individuals reports and when manually released, via the inside hidden panel, it sparks, which is dangerous and shouldnt happen. After a heavy rain, entering the vehicle sounds like a waterfall all around you from inside. I have to constantly keep moisture absorbers inside of my vehicle in a futile attempt to solve the issue.

The contact owns a 2011 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the traction control and stabili-trak warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle was jerking intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rod bearing needed to be replaced. The part was replaced on two different occasions; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, the contact stated that the headlight film clear coating was worn out and was clouding the visibility of the bulbs. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,000.

Immediately Upon picking my 2011 Cadillac SRX up from Don Thornton Cadillac for Recall on the Rear Toe Link, I had more problems with my car than when I dropped it off.I immediately called and let them know my car would not accelerate,I still had something wrong with my battery, I had warning lights on my display that were safety issues,such as SERVICE AIRBAG,SEATBELT,service stabilitrak,service rear axle,service traction control,service park assist,service suspension,"battery saver mode",service brakesThey told me it would cost me $50 to have it towed,whatever the cost for them to diagnose,the cost to fix whatever was wrong.The General Manager told me that the problems with my car when I brought it in:(issues related to the Rear Toe Link Recall)IE:service stabilitrak,service traction control, service rear axle,swaying in the back.Something was wrong with my battery and powersteering.I took it to another GM certified dealer, and"the ground was burnt and melted the rear fuse box,the ground to the fuse box was fried." The "pre-invoice" I received when picking my car up from Don Thornton Cadillac said "performed wire repair to ground wire".I paid $1,178.24 for faulty repairs. After finding out that the work they performed, was not fixed at all, the right rear wheel hub was loose, the melted wires going from the back up to the front wires, I am now without a car.COMPLETELY. Don Thornton Cadillac is not taking responsibility what so ever for the problems, SAFETY ISSUES, that I had when I picked up my car,and certainly did not have when I dropped it off.Please help!I do not know what to do.I am now without a car.It was by the grace of god,that I actually wasn't able to drive my car.I could have had my 3 grandchildren,or my 2 elderly aunts(81&76)that I am responsible to take them to their doctors appointments,or son in the car if something tragic could have happened by the right rear wheel hub coming off while driving and they were in the car!

We were at a red light when it just turned off and does not work now. It was smoking and smelled horrible like burning plastic. GM safety recall N212340980. Nine (9) warnings are specifically listed within the Recall letter; I have been experiencing 6 of 9 warning messages during an active driving session of this vehicle. In August 2021, visited Cole GMC / Cadillac service location for an assessment of parts needed to repair safety items. Refused service request despite previously scheduled appt. time; dealer required $100 fee to perform safety analysis despite Safety Recall letter / case. (08/27/2021) Contacted GM safety hotline to determine next steps. Spoke with GM rep who indicated a solution would be communicated with 24-48 business hours. No response prior to 09/02/2021 - attempted follow-up call @ 3pm, :28 hold, GM call center rep could not reach anyone in Recall department.

I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND OPENED THE DOOR AND FOUND ABOUT 3 INCHES OF WATER ON BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE. I FELT THE SIDE PANELS, UNDER DASH, TOP OF DASH, HEADLINER, WINDOWS AND ALL WERE DRY. THE SEATS AND THE MIDDLE COLUMN COMPARTMENT FELT DAMP. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND THERE WERE COMPLAINTS OF THE DRAIN TUBES LEAKING. AS THE WEEK WENT ON I NOTICED THE CAR WAS STARTING TO GET MOLD. IT GOT SO BAD I COULDN'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS MAKING ME ILL WITH BREATHING ISSUES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD HIM IT WAS LEAKING AND THAT I RESEARCHED A BIT AND FOUND THAT THEY HAD ISSUES WITH THE TUBES AND HE SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP IT OVERNIGHT AND WOULD CHECK IT AND LET ME KNOW. HE CALLS THE NEXT DAY AND SAYS IT LOOKS LIKE ITS COMING FROM THE ROOF THEY WOULD NEED TO TAKE OFF THE HEADLINER AND PERFORM A LEAK CHECK TO VERIFY IF THAT WAS THE CAUSE. HE GAVE ME ANOTHER ESTIMATE THAT WAS TO INCLUDE THE VERIFYING AND LEAK TEST AND REPLACING THE SEATBELTS AND FRONT RUG FOR $6000 AND SUGGESTS I START AN INSURANCE CLAIM.I TELL HIM TO NOT TAKE THE HEADLINER OFF AND I WOULD CHECK INTO THE INSURANCE . WHEN I PICK IT UP HE HANDS ME AN ESTIMATE THAT ENDS UP ALMOST $8000.00! THEY HAD MY CAR OVERNIGHT AND DID NOTHING AND CHARGED ME $300 FOR LABOR! I TRY TO TURN IT IN TO INSURANCE AND THEY REJECT IT BECAUSE HE TELLS THEM HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY VERIFY THE LEAK EVEN THOUGH HE CHARGED ME. SO I AM STUCK WITH! THATS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE! I HAVE COMPLAINED TO CADILLAC ABOUT MY HEADLIGHTS HAVING CONDENSATION WHICH LEADS TO THEM INTERMITTENTLY TURNING OFF. IT'S ILLEGAL TO DRIVE WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT IN WA STATE AND IT'S DANGEROUS. ON 2/28/20, CADILLAC SENT ME A LETTER ACKNOWLEDGING THAT'S THE 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, AND 2015 SRX MAY EXPERIENCE ISSUES THAT COULD CAUSE MOISTURE TO ACCUMULATE IN THEIR HEADLAMPS CAPSULE AND CAUSE HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS TO BECOME DIMMER OVER TIME. THEY STATE IN THE LETTER THAT THEY WILL ONLY REIMBURSE UP TO $1,600 FOR THE REPAIR. THE REPAIR IS $2,600. THEN THEY SAID THE CLAIM FORM HAS TO BE SUBMITTED BY MAY 28, 2020. NONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE THEY ARE ON BACK ORDERS. THEY TOLD ME THEY MAY NOT GET THE HEADLIGHTS BY THAT TIME. IN OTHER STATES LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED WHERE CADILLAC DID NOT WIN. IN THOSE LAWSUITS IT WAS NOTED THAT CADILLAC WAS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT AND IGNORED IT. ASLO THE SERVICE REAR AXLE THEY CLAIMED WAS THE SENSOR SHORTING OUT. SO THEY REPLACED REAR DIFFERENTIAL CLUTCH CONTROL MODULE AND SOLENOID. THEY SAID SOLENOID VALVE STUCK. MY CAR HAS ONLY 77,000 MILES ON IT. ALSO THEY TOLD ME THAT NOBODY HAD THE PART. THEY CHECKED ALL OF CADILLAC THROUGHOUT THE USA AND SAID THEY WILL TRY TO LOCATE ONE. NEXT THING I KNOW THEY RECEIVED THE PART BUT IT CAME IN BROKEN? SO THEY REORDERED FROM GM I DON'T BELIEVE MUCH OF WHAT THEY SAY NOW. MY CAR IS OVER THERE PROBABLY SO THEY CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE SERVICE REAR AXLE CODE! THE TAIL GATE WILL OPEN WHEN THE BUTTON IS PRESSED BUT UNEXPECTEDLY FALLS STRIKING ANYONE IN THE HEAD WHEN PUTTING SOMETHING IN THE BACK END OR TAKING OUT OF THE BACKEND. BECAUSE THE STRUTS FAIL THAT HOLD THE GATE OPEN. THIS IS THE SAME TYPE OF RECALL AS 15V415000 THAT WAS ISSUED 6/30/2015 FOR THE GMC ACADIA, CHEVY TRAVERSE, SATURN OUTLOOK, BUICK ENCLAVE THAT WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THE SAME PERIOD AS THE SRX. THIS STARTED LAST YEAR BUT THE DEALER SAID I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT EVEN THOUGH IT FAILED FAIRLY EARLY IN THE CARS LIFE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JBA CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION FAILED AND THE HEAD LAMPS WERE LEAKING. THE SUSPENSION AND HEAD LAMPS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER IN CANADA WHO UPDATED THE SOFTWARE AND INSTALLED A NEW ANTENNA; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER IN THE UNITED STATES WHO PROVIDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND THE ECM CONTROLS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE REPAIRS DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER, WHICH WAS UNABLE TO BE HONORED SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD A SALVAGED TITLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I PARKED MY 2011 CADILLAC MODEL SRX IN THE GARAGE AND WALKED AWAY FROM IT AND CLOSED MY GARAGE DOOR. ONE HOUR LATER I OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND OVER A CURB AND HIT A TREE. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. ON A NORMAL AUTOMOBILE THERE THE DRIVER NEEDS TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE KEY. THIS FEATURE IS PRETTY UNIVERSAL IN EVERY CAR I HAVE OPERATED. THIS FEATURE IS NOT INCORPORATED IN MY NEW CADILLAC. IT USES AN ELECTRONIC KEY THAT DOES THAT CAN REMAIN IN YOUR POCKET. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT I WAS LEAVING THE CAR IN DRIVE VICE PARK.
