Headlight assembly gets over heated and makes the low beam lights very dim, not safe or legal to drive at night. I've seen many many complaints for this. Not Safe!

The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, she became aware that the headlamps were extremely dim, affecting nighttime visibility. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that condensation had become trapped in the headlamp housing, resulting in damages to the headlight housing. The contact was informed that the headlamp housings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. To whom it may concern, I am writing this as a complaint on the rear toe link separation recall that was performed on our 2012 Cadillac SRX. We installed new tires on our SRX in August 2022 (Michelin Defender 235/55 R20) with a mileage of 108,452 just due to this being our sons car and wanted him to be safe on the road. In December of 2022 we had the recall performed at Lakeside Chevrolet in Rockwall Texas and the mileage was 110,893. Since the recall, we have been through 2 sets of tires on the back of this vehicle in less than 2 years with the outer edge of the tires being worn down to the cords. The car has 119,051 on it now. I am very angry as we tried to have the alignment performed and were told that these links that were installed can not be adjusted and will cost me another $650 to replace and another $130 for the alignment. The vehicle did not have any issues until we had the recall performed. We are now out $1404 for tires and $130 for an alignment that can’t be performed unless the links are replaced with adjustable units. My total to get this taken care of is over $2200 which was created by your recall parts. I would like to have someone reply to this email to let me know what can be done to take care of this situation.

I was driving down a highway and all of the sudden the back end of my car started swerving back and forth. I almost lost control, but managed to get it slowed down without causing an accident. I knew something major was wrong and the dealer I bought the car from was about 5 miles away. I managed to get it there safely, but could only do 10-15mph or the swerving was too much and I would have lost control. No warning lights came on and my steering wheel was even crooked. I had no issues prior to this. I always take my car to the dealer for oil changes/tire rotations and they have never found anything wrong. When the tech inspected my car, he determined the toe link broke. They checked for a recall and it said it was fixed in August of 2021. I bought the car in February 2022. I knew nothing about the recall or this issue. The tech said it was repaired with the same 3 piece style setup that the recall was for to begin with. Also, that they fix the recall with one whole piece now. The dealer wouldn't warranty it again since the computer documented it had already been done. I called Cadillac to see if I could get reimbursed, since the same style faulty parts were installed. I was told they couldn't do anything since it was closed and to submit it here.

The contact's wife owns a 2012 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH, the message "Service Rear Axle" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the rear axle was disassembled and it was determined that the rear axle differential seal was leaking. Additionally, the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on four occasions where the rear axle failure was repaired. The contact stated that the message "Service Rear Axle" remained displayed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 58,048. The contact stated that despite paying for a replacement part, the vehicle still has issues.

The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac SRX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension). The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer where the recall remedy was completed. The contact stated after the repairs were completed, she felt the rear side of the vehicle would sway side to side and she would notice it would be worst in the rain. The contact stated on 8/10/2022 while driving 42 mph, she heard an abnormal noise and noticed the rear driver side of the tire blew out. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she decided to continue driving. The contact stated after parking the vehicle, she noticed the inner part of the rear driver tire belt was showing. The contact's husband drove the vehicle to their residence with the faulty tire. The contact took the vehicle to a tire shop and was informed they were unable to align the vehicle while replacing the rear driver-side tire. The tire shop informed this was the cause of the tire blowing out. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

2012 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO SERVICE REAR AXLE SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED THE SERVICE REAR AXLE MESSAGE. THE REAR AXLE FAILED AND WAS REPLACED. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE 212340980 FOR THE REAR AXLE AND SUBMITTED A REIMBUSEMENT CLAIM. THE CLAIM WAS DENIED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER'S DENIAL LETTER STATED THE REPAIR PERFORMED WAS NOT THE REPAIR COVERED IN THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED INFORMATION ABOUT WHY THE REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM WAS DENIED.

The contact then stated that while driving at an unknown speed, she drove over a pothole and while attempt to stop the vehicle, the brakes failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the brake failure reoccurred after driving over potholes and then depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the brake failure. The independent mechanic informed the contact that replacing the front brake pedals could possibly help with the brake failure. The front brake pedals were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who was also unable to retrieve a fault code or determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

driving 40mph and the brakes started having issues. the pedal had to be pressed all the way to the floor and pumped to get the car to stop. from my research I see that this is a very common issue with this vehicle. this is a major safety issue that's going to eventually lead to a fatality if it hasn't already. if this is not a safety issue and a manufacturers defect then I really don't know what is

The brakes get soft and go almost to the floor at times. This usually happens after having to brake hard for a sudden stop. It takes constant pumping of the brakes for them to work properly again. I just had my brakes checked and the pads and rotors are good, so the problem could not be diagnosed. There have been no warnings or alerts for this problem and no recall letters. This is definitely a safety concern because braking hard for sudden stops is sometimes necessary to avoid a crash. This has been happpening for about 8 months. Mileage is 105,000.

On multiple occasions I have experienced an unexpected temporary loss of braking. Peddle went to the floor requiring pumping of brakes to come to a stop. It lasts days and unexpectedly returns to normal. No warning signal to check brakes etc. For days after I have to pump the brakes and adjust my braking response time in order to avoid hitting another car. Each time this happened I have had it checked and nothing found. I’m from Florida and summer in RI. I had the vehicle checked in RI last year? Twice in FL. I have noticed ot happens during inclement weather or hitting an unexpected hole in the road. The last time this happened was several days ago on the MA turnpike during a rain storm. Very scarey and very dangerous. The brakes went back to normal but only after a week. I went on the car websites and realized it was happening to others too. With Cadillac! I spend a lot of time on the highway and a quick braking response is vital.

My car was parked and in the park gear it was left running I went to get in the car to turn it off to stay awhile where I was at I got one leg in the car and reached over to push the button to turn it off and it lurched backwards and rolled over me and almost cut my leg off it kept rolling another good 200 ft or more before it stopped and it was still in the park position I read where there's a recall on the transmission on this car but I was injured very badly in this incident I do not know what happened because the car was in park and should not have rolled when I turned it off but it did and rolled over me and knock me down and cut my legs severely

Recently the liftgate has closed unexpectedly several times while items were being unloaded/loaded from the rear of the vehicle. This caused the user to be struck by the liftgate. Someone smaller or weaker, such as a child could potentially be trapped and injured since the blockage detect function apparently fails at the same time. It has also opened on it's own while the operator was away from the vehicle and out of range of the key fob. Apparently, this is a common issue with the panoramic roof in many Cadillac models leaking water into the rear storage area of the vehicle. The control module becomes immersed in water and begins to perform unreliably, eventually failing complete as it becomes more wet. No warning tones or lamps are activated

I bought a 2012cadillac about a month agoand was told by the dealer that there was no recalls on this car,but when i personally ran the vin number,it says this car has been recalled and I need to stop driving it because it's dangerous for me to be driving it because it could cause me to crash.this dealer ship also,grossly overcharged me, charging me "several thousand dollars more than the actual listed price".This car also floods my driver side and passenger side floors eachtime it rains.The water is coming in via my sunroof,which is causing my car to smell, and consequently gonna rot out my floor, and perhaps damage my electrical system and god only knows what other damage this water is doing to the integrity of my car.The dealer had me take my car to his mechanic who told me the problem was fixed which was a lie, because two days after he allegedly fixed the water problem, it rained and when i got in my car to go to an appointment... my floors were flooded with water again. The dealer who I bought the car from-"Arrow Motors",told me to take it back to his mechanic. between this leaking sunroof, and the recall i just found out about...I am really upset that this dealer sold me this car that is clearly defective and very unsafe and charged me $17,000. I feel like this guy lied to me and took advantage of me, I asked him several times if there was a recall on this car and he looked me in the eyes and said NO.I also asked him if there was anything wrong with this car and again he looked me in the eyes and said No.He had to have known about the recall,and about the problem with the sunroof leaking water inside the car. I only had this car for a month and spent all my money to buy it, but with the current issues, I feel it's not safe for me drive, and poses a serious risk to others too.P.S. Is there anyway I can get my money back,or sue them?

My 2012 Cadillac SRX gets water into the back of the car when it rains. There is a module in the back which when it gets wet shuts off all the electrical components in the car. The rain enters the car and gets trapped in the wheel well and all through the other components in the rear of the car. I have had this happen before and repairs cost up to 1000.00. General Motors needs to be accountable and a recall needs to be issued.

Water is getting inside of the car’s shell and interiors. The carpets and ceiling gets wet and drips. Mold is visible and inhaling causes allergic and breathing issues. Water is a major issue on the interior of the windshield and other windows. I can hear water traveling inside the roof when I drive. This is causing electrical problems. My trunk is not working to open. My sunroof is also not working.

Headlamps fully engaged but dimming with time. Unable to see road clearly at night. Dealership(s) confirmed issue and reproduced issue. Confirmed by manufacturers. No prior warnings. Class action lawsuit won on behalf of owners but not all owners were informed of settlement and procedures to address and correct issue. Class action settlement period lapse in 2020 with no other recourse to help owner of vehicle now. Headlamp issue persists to this day.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH SMOKE BEGAN TO SUDDENLY FILL THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE SMOKE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER STOPPING AND SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE THE SMOKE SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN TO A NEARBY FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE BURNING WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. NO FIRE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON OR ABOUT JULY 2018 WITH THE MILEAGE BEING 91053. I DID NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT UNTIL ABOUT NOVEMBER 2018. I COULD NOT SEE WHERE I WAS GOING BECAUSE THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT WAS SO DIM. I BOUGHT AND REPLACED BOTH FRONT LOW BEAM BULBS TO NO CHANGE IN SIGHT. FINALLY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CADILLAC ON APRIL 05, 2019 ABOUT REPLACING THE WHOLE UNIT SO I DID. THIS WAS ON APRIL 10 2019. EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE. ON 09\18\19 I HAD TO GET THE OIL CHANGED. I WENT TO JIFFY LUBE TO HAVE IT DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING FINE, SINCE I ONLY DROVE MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. THE LAST DAY I DROVE IT WAS 03\08\20. I WENT OUT TO RUN TO THE STORE THE NEXT DAY AND BOOM THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THERE WAS NO JUICE IN THE BATTERY AT ALL. I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND HAD IT INSTALLED ($200). AFTER JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS I HAD TO GET ANOTHER JUMP TO START IT. ON 03\12\20 I TOOK IT UP TO FIRESTONE AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR, SO I HAD THEM REPLACE IT AT $499.81. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE BATTERY WAS STILL BEING DRAINED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE UP TO CHURCHVILLE SERVICE CENTER (RECOMMENDED BY MY SON IN LAW) AND THEY REPLACED AN ACCESSORY SYSTEM RELAY. THIS ALSO DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM ($296.74) I TOOK IT BACK TO CHURCHVILLE AND HE REPLACED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND HAD IT REPROGRAMMED ($725.02) AND REPLACED THE BATTERY FOR POSSIBLE DEFECTED ($296.74). SO AFTER SPENDING $1818.31 THE VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING THE BATTERY LOSE POWER OVER ABOUT TWO DAYS. THERE IS A VERY BAD DEFECT IN ONE OF THE FOUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND IT CAN NOT BE FOUND. I NOW ONLY HAVE ABOUT 95,600 MILES. SO IN 2 YEARS I ONLY DROVE 4,547 MILES AND HAVING THIS MUCH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. YES THE CHURCHVILLE MECHANIC PULLED EVERY FUSE TO LOOK FOR ANY DRAW ON THE BATTERY WHEN HE REPLACED THE RELAY SWITCH. The paint on this car is defective. It peels off of the car without any action or agitation by the owner or outside forces. This causes multiple parts of the car rust to under the painted areas, including the roof and hood. This is a common problem with this model and color as several owners have posted about the problem online.

VEHICLE WAS PARKED. PRESSED BUTTON TO HAVE REAR POWER LIFT GATE OPEN. AS IT WAS FULLY OPENING, I PUT ONE OF MY GROCERY BAGS IN THE REAR HATCH THE LIFT GATE POWERED DOWN ONTO MY HEAD WITHOUT WARNING. IT KNOCKED ME TO THE PARKING LOT. WITHOUT ANY DIRECTION FROM ME IT WENT PARTIALLY UP AND DOWN AGAIN AND THEN CLOSED FULLY. I GOT UP AND TRIED THE BUTTON AGAIN TO OPEN THE LIFT GATE. IT OPENED AND THEN JERKED DOWN AND THEN UP AND THEN CLOSED. IT STILL MALFUNCTIONS THIS WAY AND WON'T OPEN AND STAY OPENED.

Car completely quit running while driving. Almost hit a car with no control of my vehicle.Took it to mechanic, they said engine was locked up, they say this is very common with any srx from 2008 to 2014. Got another opinion. Said the same thing. Many blogs on this. Now this cost me around $8000 to get fixed. If so many has the same problem. Why is this not fixed or recalled.

UNKNOWN- Took my vehicle in for the recall listed above, to then be told that my Timing Cover Gasket: timing cover gasket leaking. Service advisor indicated that this is a known issue with SRX's. I did search for a recall on all years, but not on the 2012's. Not sure why they were not included. I was informed at the price of $2134.53 it could be repaired. I only have 87 plus miles on this vehicle. While I have not had any warning lamps or messages appear, or leaking, why is this. I whole heartedly believe that this should be inspected and a recall should occur for this years make and model.

WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN MY CAR SPUTTERED THEN SHUT OFF,I DIDN'T HAVE A CODE OR WARNING ON THE DASH I HAD 30 PERCENT OIL LEFT AND 2000 MILES BEFORE NEXT OIL CHANGE. HAD IT TOWED TO A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND THE ENGINE IS SEIZED, AFTER OPENING UP THE ENGINE THERE WAS SLUDGE. IT ONLY HAS 61,000 MILES AND I HAVE ALL THE PAPERWORK WHERE ALL OIL CHANGES WERE DONE ON TIME. EXTENDED WARRANTY CO. WON'T COVER SLUDGE. I HAD READ ONLINE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, GM NEED TO RECALL THESE ENGINES, THIS IS A $10,000 DEFECT. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS CAR 10 MONTHS.

WE WERE TOLD THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED REPAIR AT 3 WEEKS OUTSIDE OF THE FACTORY 5 YEAR WARRANTY, AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 52,000 MILES. WE PRODUCED SERVICE RECORDS AS THEY ASKED BUT THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT A CADILLAC ULTIMATELY OFFERED US NO HELP AND WE HAD TO PAY $2100 FOR THE REPAIR. WE CHECKED ONLINE PRIOR TO THIS AND FOUND NUMEROUS POSTS, AND SOME RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM AS IT IS EXTREMELY COMMON ON THESE VEHICLES AND OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN/MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THERE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL, AND AGAIN CADILLAC ASSUMED NO MONETARY RESPONSIBILITY.

LOOKED ON YOUTUBE AND FOUND OUT MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND ENGINE.(3.6) CADILLAC REFUSES TO DO A RECALL ON A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING HOME ON NY STATE THRUWAY, I GOT OFF MY EXIT AND APPROACHED TOLL BOOTH TO STOP AND PAY TOLL. THE FIRST CONCERN WAS DUE TO A LEAK IN THE SUNROOF SHORTING OUT A CIRCUIT BOARD THE TAILGATE OF MY VEHICLE NEARLY SHUT ON MY SON AS HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO REACH IN TO REMOVE AN ITEM FROM THE CARGO SPACE. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to come into a complete stop, the contact drove over a bump in the roadway and the brakes made an abnormal grinding sound and the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The headlights are very dim It is like driving your vehicle with a flashlight as the lighting. When you turn on bright lights you can see good but your then endangering drivers going the opposite directions It is very dangerous. If you reserch this issue on the internet it is a well lnown problem. How can people drive their cars like this. I did inquire with GM and they said they did at one time reimburse owners to get headlights replaced but that offer expired Well there are people out there driving these Dangerous cars that were not notified of this. I would invite anyone to drive one of these cars and see how bad it is. It is very urgent that someone look at this problem I have seen where there have been recalls over 10 years old . I am trying to get across how DANGEROUS this cars lights are. MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. UPON DIAGNOSIS, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WIRING OR THE BULBS BUT THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2010 TO 2015 CADILLAC SRX'S. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE SEAL FAILS AND ALLOWS MOISTURE IN THE HEADLIGHT WHICH CAUSES A HAZE TO BUILD UP IN THE ENCLOSED LIGHT COVER WHICH IN TURN MAKES THE LIGHTS DIM. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I CAN'T EVEN TELL THAT THE LIGHTS ARE ON ESPECIALLY ON A DARK STREET OR HIGHWAY. WHEN I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SPOKE WITH GMC/CADILLAC I FOUND THAT GMC/CADILLAC HAS A RECALL ON THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IN TWO STATES ONLY-CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS MORE THAN LIKELY NATIONWIDE. In Nov 2021 we had the recommended recall repairs done at a Cadillac dealership which replaced the rear toe links with a non-adjustable bar. 2 months later we installed new tires at Big O Tires but they were unable to perform a rear alignment due to the stationary toe bar. We went back to the Cadillac dealership days later but were assured the alignment was fine. Just over one year later (approx 15K miles driven) we have significant wear on our inner tires. Last week we had Big O run an ExpressAlign report and the rear tires have severe negative values. The value even with the toe bar should be +0.020. I contacted Hunter Machine Alignment and they confirmed our concerns. They said Cadillac solve this problem immediately. At this time Cadillac is only agreeing to inspecting the installation of the recall repair however this does not resolve the safety concerns with this vehicle. Why would a stationary bar be installed if the customer would not be able to get their wheels properly aligned? This recall repair seem to have increased the safety and reliability of this vehicle further. After that initial recall, the company received further reports that some toe links were still loose, and it revised the procedures outlined in the initial recall. In 2020 GM continued to receive field reports about suspension-related issues. These included traction control, electronic stability control (called Stabilitrak by GM), or "service rear axle" warnings, malfunctioning taillights, swaying or wandering at highway speeds, uneven rear tire wear, or loud clunking noises over bumps. NHTSA’s campaign number is 21V473. The initial recall number was 14V571.

While driving on the highway my car suddenly went sideways five times. I had no control over my vehicle and luckily did not hit another vehicle. Once I was safely on the shoulder, I saw that my rear driverside wheel was sticking out. I had it towed to the dealership and then found out that there was a recall on the rear toe end link adjuster. They kept my car for weeks and kept sending me assessments of damage and assuring me it would be good as new when returned. After I declined their offer to fix my front struts for about $4,000 they said it was ready, but still needed to be aligned. I drove it home and immediately called bc it was not fixed and swayed dangerously on the road. They said bring it Monday (this was a Friday) it sat in my driveway then I noticed all the oil that leaked. I took it back (couple more weeks) they said oil changed (cost to them) leak caused by gasket not sealed properly. Also the washer fluid kept just pouring out and they had to fix that which they said was my fault but I'd never had trouble before. Then they said my car was ready and they had fixed the recall by making the adjuster NON adjustable. My car still swayed all over the road and now makes a loud clanking noise in the front. After a month my rear tires both on the inside of the tire closest together are wore out showing wires. I paid for two used tired. Two weeks later it's happening again. Another shop checks the tires and is amazed that I made it to have him check the tires because the toe link but was so loose that my wheel was about to fall off again! He tightened the nut that IS undoubtedly ADJUSTABLE. My tires are now wearing out again and I've yet to receive any news on how to get the national recall fixed. No concern for safety at all.

I received a recall from GM as to the toe links in my vehicle. On November 4th it went into the dealership to have the parts replaced and the following morning my car lost control when something happened between the tires and the steering which caused my car to swerve all over the road, lose control, flip and go into a ditch. There were 3 warning lights on, ABS, traction, and Stabilitrak. The car has not yet been inspected but will be. Thank God it happened around 5:30 a.m. when there were not a lot of cars out yet on the highway.

WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING, I HAVE MINIMUM BRAKING POWER. I MUST SMASH THE PETAL TO FLOOR IN ORDER TO STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. USUALLY, I'M NOT GOING MORE THAN 35 MPH. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES PER MONTH. I FEAR I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT. TWO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS COULD NOT ID THE PROBLEM. THE OTHER ISSUE IS WHEN DRIVING, THE DASH LIGHTS AND THE HEAD LIGHTS WILL SUDDENLY DIM, WHERE I AM BARELY ABLE TO READ ANYTHING OR SEE. HEADLIGHTS GOING DIM. I REPLACED THE BULBS (BOTH) IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR AS MY HEADLIGHTS WERE TO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NOW 8 MONTHS LATER I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I NOTICED CONDENSATION INSIDE THE GLASS. SINCE THEN I HAVE R ACHED AND FOUND THIS IS NOT ONLY A DANGEROUS ISSUE BUT A SUBSTANTIAL ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND YEAR. THE SRX HAS AN EXTREMELY WELL-KNOWN ISSUE FOR WHICH GM HAS IGNORED. MY CAR IS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD AND THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME SO DIM - I WOULD OFTEN CHECK TO SEE IF THEY WERE EVEN ON. IT GOT SO BAD, THE CAR COULDN'T BE DRIVEN AT NIGHT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE AND THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT IS TO PAY GM OVER $1,000 TO REPLACE THEM. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE THAT CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR IS KILLED OR KILLS SOMEONE. I'VE CONTACTED CADILLAC A NUMBER OF TIMES AND I KEEP GETTING CANNED RESPONSES. THE LAST REPLY WAS, "MS. MATCHUS, MOTOR VEHICLE RECALLS ARE RELEASED WHEN THE VEHICLE OR AN ITEM IN THE VEHICLE'S EQUIPMENT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH A FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD; OR WHEN THERE IS A SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE OR EQUIPMENT. There was a recall in this vehicle in 2022 it states the recall has been serviced for toe link, hub bearing, front strut and sway bar link. Well I put my car in the shop and had to replace same parts that had a recall that was serviced already! $1,886.00 it cost me to have these services done again. Well the issue is back and it’s affecting the steering of my vehicle. I need to know what the next step is to have this resolved so I can make sure my vehicle is safe to drive

The contact owns 2009 Ford F-30 Supercab. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced violate shaking without warning when accelerating past 50 mph The contact stated when driving over an object the failure occurs. The contact would have to released his foot off the accelerator in order for the vehicle to resumes back to normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering dapper needed to be replaced in order for the failure not to recur. The vehicle was not repaired the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT LENS IS FROSTED OVER PREVENTING HEADLIGHTS FROM PROJECTING LIGHT AT NIGHT. I HAVE OTHER VEHICLES FLASH LIGHTS AT ME ON APPROACH. I WAS WARNED ON A RECENT TRIP TO NEW MEXICO, BUT DID NOT GET A TECKET FOR NOT HAVING HEADLIGHTS. LOCAL GM/CADILLAC DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. I DONT DRIVE AT NIGHT AS NO LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. I BOUGHT AND REPLACED WITH STRONGER LOW BEAM BULBS, BUT THIS DID NOT HELP. PLEASE ISSUE A CS EASE AND DESIST STOPPING CADILLAC SALES IN THE US UNTIL THIS SAFET DEFECT IS CORRECTED.

HE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT QUIT WORKING ON MY 2010 SRX LAST WEEK. THERE'S A LOT OF CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER TOLD ME THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY MUST HAVE BEEN BUMPED AND THE SEAL COMPROMISED. THE COST TO FIX IT IS $1,250 PLUS 2 HOURS LABOR AND TAX. THE CAR IS WITHIN THE TIME WARRANTY BUT OUTSIDE THE MILEAGE WARRANTY. HE WAS VERY CLEAR THAT GM WOULD NOT HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. I GUESS GM TRAINS THEIR DEALERS TO BLAME ALL PRODUCTS THAT PROVE DEFECTIVE AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES ON THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS MY THIRD CADILLAC AND I'VE HAD MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR THAN THE OTHER TWO COMBINED.

ON 6/25/18, MY WIFE WAS TRAVELING 45 MPH., IN OUR 2012 CADILLAC SRX. THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER WENT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO A SUBDIVISION. BUT, THEN DECIDED NOT TO DO THAT AND PULLED BACK INTO THE LANE OF MY WIFE. SHE SLAMMED ON HER BRAKES, TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, SHE COULDN?T ANTICIPATE THEIR MOVE. SHE HIT THEM FROM BEHIND, GOING 45MPH. SHE HIT HER FOREHEAD ON THE VISOR BAR TWICE, CAUSING A SKULL FRACTURE, BRAIN BLEED, SEVER CONCUSSION, DEEP LACERATIONS, A BURST ARTERY IN HER FOREHEAD TO WHERE SHE WAS BLEEDING HEAVILY AND UNCONSCIOUS. HER CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL, WHICH BADLY BRUISED HER RIBS, CAUSING A HIATAL HERNIA, DUE TO THE IMPACT. SHE SUFFERED LACERATIONS TO HER LEFT ARM, KNEE AND HAS RUPTURED DISCS IN HER CERVICAL SPINE. SHE WAS ICU FOR SEVERAL DAYS DUE TO THE BRAIN BLEED AND HEAD INJURIES SHE SUSTAINED. OUR AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED AND THE DRIVER SEAT BELT DIDN?T LOCK ON IMPACT, ALLOWING HER TO BOUNCE UPWARD TWICE AND SUSTAINED THE HEAD INJURIES. THE CADILLAC AIR BAGS AND SEAT LOCKING MECHANISMS FAILED TO PROTECT HER FROM INJURIES SHE SHOULD HAD NEVER HAD. I OPENED THE REAR LIFT GATE FROM INSIDE THE CAR . I HAD JUST PARKED CURBSIDE AT MY 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER'S SCHOOL , AS I DO EACH SCHOOL DAY MORNING TO DROP HER OFF . AS SHE LEANED IN THE BACK CARGO SPACE TO PULL OUT HER BACK PACK AND LUNCH BOX THE CARGODOOR STARTED TO CLOSE ON ITS OWN ON MY DAUGHTER . NEITHER OF US HAD PRESSED THE BUTTON . I WAS UNAWARE AT FIRST AS I WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT FACING FORWARD , I HEARD HER SCREAM AND WAS WATCHING IN HORROR AS SHE WAS BEING CRUSHED BY THE DOOR BETWEEN THE DOOR AND HER BAG AND THE CARGO COMPARTMENT . I WAS ENTERING THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, AND NEEDED TO CROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC. I GOT TO THE SECOND LANE AND STARTED TO MOVE INTO THE THIRD LANE. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, IT WAS AS IF I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. THE CAR HAD NO POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE CAR BEHIND ME NEARLY REAR-ENDED ME BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO BRAKE LIGHTS, SINCE I WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR, YET THE CAR BEHAVED AS IF I HAD HIT THE BRAKES. THIS IS THE 3RD NEAR MISS DUE TO THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS OCCASIONALLY FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF, BUT IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY NOW AND I FEAR AN ACCIDENT IS INEVITABLE. there was a sunroof recall on my year of vehicle, with this being a used vehicle the previous owners did not know about the sunroof recall and this is why they sold the vehicle not knowing the issues it caused, so I purchased this vehicle wanting it to be my forever vehicle and still do, i am wanting the sunroof drain issue fixed as this has messed with all of my electronical functions in my vehicle, when it rains or snows the electrical information stops working as it has gotten wet due to the drain shrinkage not being fixed, I cannot drive my vehicle safely when this happens, i have to wait until it dries to drive my vehicle again. Please help me with getting the recall reinstated so i can properly get this issue fixed that the previous owners did not know about and i can keep my vehicle safely driving on the roads.

Braking after hitting a pothole was a nightmare! No warning lights came on to prepare me for anything. Brake pedal went to the floor and would not work properly. Finally after getting my vehicle to stop I pulled over pumped my brakes and seemed to work after 5 tries. Toe link recall was “fixed” well not the case. After 2 recalls on the toe link I had a nice bill the cost me $1.450.00 after having to pay for this part. Still haven’t been reimbursed. Also headlights are very dim and can’t see at night!! I’ve asked multiple mechanic shops and no one has an answer for me. So have to use my high beams or else I can’t see anything at night . Very unsafe and no one can help me resolve this issue.

I had Baker Cadillac Dealership to perform the toe-link recall as well as a Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection on May 28, 2025. This is for a 2012 Cadillac SRX-3.6 Luxury Collection [VIN: [XXX]] that I was going to purchase for my [XXX] daughter pending the inspection results. Because Cadillac technicians performed the inspection and nothing major was flagged, I purchased the car for my daughter. That evening, I was driving the car to fill up with gas, and the brakes completely cut out! I talked to a friend who knows more about cars than I do, told me the brakes cutting out was likely a result of the recall repair needing to reset to the proper values. I didn't think too much of it after that until 5 days ago when I was on [XXX] driving at 70 mph, the brakes completely cut out again. The road was wet and they cut out as I was exiting off an interstate overpass onto a ramp which circles back toward the direction I was coming from that ultimately feeds onto the road underneath the exit. I fishtailed side to side the entire length of that ramp that has no barriers at a lethal speed which could’ve killed me! If my daughter would've been driving, the outcome would’ve likely been fatal! I contacted the dealership who performed the recall installation and the Multi Point Inspection and told them everything that happened. I wanted answers as to why this wasn't caught during inspection, what exactly caused that to happen twice in less than 10 days, and what needs to be fixed to prevent this from ever happening again. I paid Firestone to perform a comprehensive test on ABS and they could not replicate the issue, so they couldn't do anything to fix it as everything appeared to be fine. No system lights came on or anything. I have since learned that this is far from an isolated issue; in fact, this is quite a scary pattern with the 2012 SRX 3.6. A deer hit the driver side of my car. The air bag had a smell but did not deflate. The seatbelts kinda detached from the driver’s seat and both front seatbelts are locked very tight. This happened 1/3/25. About three months ago while driving, the driver seat went into the lowest level position. When I put it back where I could drive it, it did it again. I had to keep putting it in place till I got home. It hasn’t done that again yet. Please send me any recalls so I can get them fixed. Thank you

I rec'd a litter dated 12/15/23 from Sentury Tire regarding a recall on these tires. I called them on 1/16/24 and was told to submit an online form and tire pics which I did. I was to hear back within 24-48 hours and did not. I called them again on 1/22/24 and after several mins, was told to submit another online form and tire pics which I did. I rec'd an email from them on 1/24/24 indicating they rec'd my form but need me to submit tire pics again. By 1/29/24 I still had not heard from Sentury Tire and called them again. My name and phone number was taken and I was told it would be escalated. Also on 1/29/24 I sent follow up emails on 2/1/24 and 2/5/24 requesting to be contacted. I rec'd an email response on 2/6/24 indicating one tire is part of the recall (1TB6JP15C1723) and one is not (1TB6JP15C1923). The other two tires only have 1TB6JP15C stamped on them-the last 4 digits are not on the last 2 tires. The 2/6/24 email to me also stated "I will have a representative contact you to assist you further and get your tire replaced." I have not been contacted since then and have sent follow up emails on 2/7/24 and 2/12/24. I have not received any email or phone contact at all.

So while driving the stabilizer light came on and it swerved when I went to hit my brakes to stop the car because I was heading across a bridge the brake somehow lost power and I pushed and it didn’t do anything by the time I got the pressure to come back I guess after pushing a few times it was too late and I rear ended another vehicle and completed pushed in the entire front on my truck. AFTER A HEAVY STORM, I ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR THAT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, BUT NOTHING IN THE CAR WOULD RESPOND TO THE KEY FOB OR PUSH TO START. AFTER JUMPING THE BATTERY, WE WERE ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WERE ERRATICALLY SHUTTING OFF AND RESTARTING. THE GAUGES AND SYSTEM LIGHTS KEPT BLINKING AND TURNING OFF. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SMOKE, SO I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THERE WAS A MUSTY SMELL WHICH PROVOKED ME TO SEARCH FOR WATER INTRUSION. THE FRONT FLOORBOARDS WERE SOAKING WET. I COULDN'T GET THE LIFTGATE OPEN, SO I CLIMBED INTO THE REAR AREA AND FOUND COMPARTMENTS THAT HAD STANDING WATER. THE REAR CARPETS WERE ALSO WET. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE STORM CAUSED DEBRI TO CLOG THE SUNROOF DRAINS CAUSING THE OVERFLOW PANS TO POUR INTO THE VEHICLE. THIS CAUSED THE LIFTGATE MODULE TO INITIATE A PERPETUAL SIGNAL TO THE BATTERY CAUSING IT TO DIE. I ALSO HAD WATER AND FOGGING BUILT UP IN THE HEADLIGHT COVERS REDUCING THE LAMP OUTPUT. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON DESIGN FLAW THAT GM REFUSES TO ADMIT OR EVEN COVER REPAIRS BEYOND THE INITIAL MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. THIS IS VERY DISCONCERTING BECAUSE I'M SURE THE ISSUE WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WHEN THERE'S A RAIN DOWNPOUR, AND IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE WATER CORRODES THE LIFTGATE MODULE OR OTHER ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS. WATER AVOIDANCE IS NOT AN OPTION. I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD OWN THIS PROBLEM THEY CREATED AND PROVIDE A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE.

THE CONTACT ALSO HAD THE DRIVER'S SEAT REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET DUE TO THE SEAT MOVING BACK IN FORTH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN NOTIFIED OF THE REPAIR THAT WAS MADE TO HER HEADLIGHTS. THE MANUFACTURER THEN INFORMED HER THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND THAT SHE WAS NOT ENTITLED TO A REIMBURSEMENT. REF: NHTSA CAMPAIGN #: 14V571000 - MY VIN DOES NOT COME UP AS AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL. HOWEVER, ON 2/10/2020, DRIVING 35 MPH ON TOWN STREETS, THE CAR WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT TO CONTROL (ALMOST 'LIGHTER'). AFTER MY STOP, I RESTARTED THE CAR, TURNED A CORNER AND FOUND IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STAY IN MY OWN LANE. EVEN AFTER SLOWING TO 20 MPH AND FIGHTING TO CONTROL THE CAR, IT FELT LIKE THE REAR OF MY CAR WAS DRAGGING ME IN TO THE RIGHT LANE AFTER PARKING, I NOTICED MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS AT AN ANGLE OF ABOUT 30-45 DEGREES FROM THE REST OF THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY REPAIR GARAGE. THEY SHOWED US THE TOE NUT (JAM NUT?) UNDER THE REAR SUSPENSION , HAD APPROXIMATELY 1/2" BEFORE IT COULD CAME OFF COMPLETELY. I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY HEADLIGHTS FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS.MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I HAVE REPLACED THE LOW BEAM BULBS 4TIMES. IT'S COST ME 100.00 EVERY TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY SAID IT NEEDS NEW HEADLIGHTS, THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. I CAN'T AFFORD IT. IT'S BECAUSE OF MOISTURE INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT GLASS. WELL AFTER COMPLAINING FOR 3 YEARS I FINALLY GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL SAYING IT'S NOT A RECALL BUT DUE TO MOISTURE INSIDE THE HEADLIGHTS THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THEY WILL REIMBURSE ME UP TO 800.00 FOR GETTING THEM FIXED. AND IT'S FOR 2010-2015 CADILLAC SRX. I'M ON DISABILITY AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR THEM AND WORRY ABOUT GETTING MY MONEY BACK. I CAN'T GO ANYWHERE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE BRIGHT LIGHTS AND I'VE HAD A FENDER BENDER 1TIME AND ALMOST HAD SEVERAL WRECKS BECAUSE THE OTHER CAR COULDN'T SEE ME. THE CONSUMER STATED HE TOOK THE LUG COVER OFF AND THREE LUG NUTS FELL TO THE GROUND AND THE 4TH LUG NUT WAS LOOSE TO THE POINT THAT HE WAS ABLE TO UNSCREW IT BY HAND. THE TWO LUG NUTS THAT HELD THE WHEEL WERE ON, BUT NOT SNUG. HE THEN CHECKED ALL THE LUG NUTS ON THE OTHER WHEELS AND FOUND MOST OF THEM LOOSE AND NONE WERE TIGHT. HE THEN USED HIS FOUR-WAY LUG WRENCH TO SECURE ALL THE WHEEL. GM'S SOLUTION WAS TO SIMPLY ROTATE THE TIRES AND BASICALLY USE THE PROPER TORQUE TO APPLY THE LUG NUTS.

PURCHASED VEHICLE WITH NAVIGATION OPTION. UPON FIRST USE, VOICE DIRECTIONS WERE TERRIBLY WRONG. DEALER ORDERED NEW NAVIGATION DISK FROM CADILLAC - BUT PROBLEM REMAINED. ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AFTER THREE MONTHS. CADILLAC REGIONAL MANAGER SAID PROBLEM WILL NOT BE FIXED UNTIL 2014 MODEL YEAR. HIGH POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR FATAL ACCIDENT IF DRIVER IS DIRECTED TO MAKE A WRONG TURN INTO ONE-WAY STREET. HANDHELD GPS UNITS ARE VERY ACCURATE; GM ENGINEERS MUST BE DIRECTED TO MAKE A FIX ASAP. DEALER TESTED OTHER 2012 CADILLAC SRX'S AND SAME PROBLEM OCCURS. THIS IS A POTENTIAL DISASTER IN THE MAKING. *TT

WHEN I PUT THE SRX INTO REVERSE THE BACK UP CAMERA DOES NOT COME ON FOR 3 TO 4 SECONDS. I AM BACKING BLIND DURING THAT PERIOD. CADILLAC TOLD ME THAT IS JUST THE WAY IT IS. SOMEDAY SOMEONE IS GOING TO RUN OVER A CHILD WHILE BACKING UP, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T SEE THE CHILD ON THE SCREEN. THIS IS A GLARING SAFETY DEFECT. *TR
