Vehicle Headlamps fail to project adequate light to see the road. Several hundred dollars have been invested in attempting to fix this, resulting in zero noticeable help.

Left front headlight is so dim I cannot drive my car in the dark. I have spent money replacing the bulbs, cleaning the lenses through professional shop(s) and still goes dim and unsafe. After researching this I see this is a ongoing problem with this vehicle. I am now having to spend over $1,000 to replace the entire headlight assembly and I don't even know how long that will last. From research from another person it looks like the assembly where the light get hot is chrome sprayed plastic. Cheap parts causing me so much money that should be reliable in my vehicle. I see GM reimbursement owners in Fl and CA for this issue for a few years. this is terrible as I am a working adult required to commute in the dark. Iw ant to be reimbursed for this unsafe headlight assembly and know the other is failing too.

I purchased this vehicle on January 1, 2025. I drove it last night for the first time after dark. The headlights were so dim I could hardly see to drive. I had to use my brights except when a car was coming towards me, then I put them on dim and slowed way down. Leaving them on bright would have endangered other drivers and myself. I purchased the car with no warranty so now I either drive only during daylight hours or I pay out of pocket to have them fixed which I'm sure isn't cheap. I am going to go to the dealership that I purchased it from to see if they will help me at all, but since there was no warranty, I'm not expecting them to give me any assistance with this. When you look at the headlights during the daytime, which is when I bought the car there is no visible sign of an issue with them. No warning lamp has come on to let me know there is an issue and since I just purchased the car I don't know when they first appeared so dim. I noticed there are numerous complaints about this issue. Why isn't GM doing something about it.

2013 Cadillac SRX has ridiculous (pointing down) low beam headlight issues. Adaptive forward lighting makes this impossible to be driven at night on low beams, because visibility is so poor! You have to drive with high beams on. These are barely decent and are like having weak low beams. No one flashes to have me turn them off, which is telling of how lame the high beams point. Visibility at night is paramount and this issue is quite dangerous. They (GM) know that this is a problem and have been sued. It is time for you to do your job and make them do theirs for safety sake.

My suv has a noticeable sometimes unsafe lag in the transmission Sometimes 3-4 sec lag Had in dealership shop 2-3 times they cannot reproduce they say. There was a recall for this very issue in 2014. Says recall was performed but obviously did not fix it. It is now out of Warrenty and still lagging

THE CUE SYSTEM (CONTROLS RADIO, NAVIGATION, WEATHER ALERTS, CLIMATE CONTROLS AND VEHICLE SETTINGS) IS NON RESPONSIVE. I CANNOT ACCESS THE SYSTEMS TO MAKE SPECIFIC ADJUSTMENTS TO CLIMATE CONTROL SETTINGS (DIRECTING THE HEAT OR AIR TO THE FEET OR CHEST AREA) PROGRAM NEW RADIO STATIONS, ADD A NEW CELL PHONE FOR HANDS FREE OPERATIONS, INPUT VEHICLE NAVIGATION DESTINATIONS OR MAKE SETTING CHANGES TO THE VEHICLE OPERATION. THIS IS HAZARDOUS AS I RELY ON THE VEHICLE NAVIGATION TO FIND LOCATIONS IN OUT OF TOWN LOCATIONS, WEATHER AND ROAD ALERT INFORMATION AND HANDS FREE CELL PHONE OPERATION TO RECEIVE CALLS. I HAVE RESET THE SYSTEM ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL BUT IT DOES NOT RESTORE THE TOUCH SCREEN FUNCTIONS. THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE SYSTEM AND GM WAS AWARE OF IT AS EARLY AS 2014-2015. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS MORE THAN $2000.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT WITH AN IDENTICAL ONE THAT HAS THE SAME DEFECT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ISSUED ON ALL OF THESE CADILLACS.

Vehicle placed in "Park" (foot on the brake, which is necessary in order to shift into P); when brake pedal released, vehicle suddenly revs and lurches forward. First time, in garage, and so minor damage except to items in garage; second time 3/7/2025, totaled this vehicle plus major damage to another vehicle.

I called on August 25 to get my Cadillac serviced at the Luxury Automall in Sioux Falls, SD. I had been experiencing toe link issues (service stabilitrak error message and jerking and swaying from the back end). I was bounced around from operators at the dealership before being told I wouldn’t be able to be seen until Sept. 14th (20 days later) and that I should stop driving the vehicle. I work over 50 miles away from my office and told the person I spoke to that it wasn’t an option for me to stop driving the vehicle because I need my source of income to support myself. I also informed them that I don’t have any other form of transportation and asked if I could get a loaner vehicle until they could check out my vehicle. I was told they wouldn’t be able to provide me a loaner vehicle until my vehicle was inspected and deemed unsafe to operate. So I continued driving my vehicle. I’ve probably put close to 2000 miles on my vehicle since the phone call with Cadillac. Needless to say my transmission went out Friday at a very low mileage. Cadillac is refusing to help me and I feel like I wouldn’t need an entire new transmission had the Cadillac dealer not made me wait nearly 3 weeks to be seen. My toe link is also busted. Now I’m looking at spending $5500 on a vehicle I can’t even drive due to Cadillacs negligence plus I’m now on the hook for a rental vehicle while I’m still making payments on the Cadillac I cannot even drive. How do you expect people to survive when I’m getting quoted over $1800 for 4 weeks of a rental car while I wait for my vehicle to get fixed - most places cannot get a transmission for 3-4 weeks. I’m being quoted $7000 (which is more than I make in 2 months) because Cadillac blew me off had they checked my vehicle before the transmission went out they may have prevented me from needing a new transmission. They knowingly let me drive an unsafe vehicle with no regards to my safety.

The contact stated that there were web-like cracks that had developed inside the infotainment screen, causing difficulty in accessing various electrical functions needed to safely operate the vehicle. Due to the failure, the A/C unit, defroster, backup camera, and other functions were inaccessible on the screen. The contact stated that the repair was initially serviced under warranty; however, the failure returned, and the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The contact was recently provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the contact was provided the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact notified the dealer where the vehicle was purchased; however, the dealer denied responsibility. A mobile mechanic was contacted and stopped by the residence and diagnosed the vehicle. However, no cause for the failure was found. Several mobile mechanics stopped by the residence and diagnosed the vehicle with an electrical system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the mobile mechanic discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was purchased from a private dealer's sale. At the time of the purchase, the vehicle mileage was 64,729, it was discovered that the mileage was 175,000. The contact parked the vehicle, and the vehicle was no longer driven. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

THE CUE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM IS NO LONGER OPERABLE. THE SCREEN HAS A WEBBING EFFECT WHICH IS CALLED DELAMINATION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SCREEN BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN MONTHS AFTER MY WARRANTY RAN OUT. MY VEHICLE WAS AT ARNIE BAUER GMC/BUICK & CADILLAC AUGUST 2018 WHEN THE SCREEN CRACKED. I WAS GETTING MY BATTERY LOOKED AT. I IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE BACK AND SAW THE WEBBING IN THE SCREEN. SERVICE CLAIMED THEY WHERE NOT RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT VERIFY THAT THE SCREEN WAS NOT LIKE THAT BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN. IN AUGUST OF 2020 THE SCREEN STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER HANDS FREE. I CAN NOT PAIR MY PHONE VIA BLUETOOTH AND THEREFORE CANNOT ANSWER OR MAKE ANY CALLS WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PHONE. ADDITIONALLY I CAN NOW ONLY CONTROL CLIMATE FUNCTIONS THAT HAVE A DEDICATED BUTTON NOT ON THE SCREEN. I'M NOT ABLE TO EASILY CHANGE A RADIO STATION OR ACCESS ANY OF THE SETTINGS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CUE SCREEN. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS WILL AFFECT OTHER FUNCTIONS IN THIS CENTER UNIT BUT BELIEVE IT WILL OR WHY ELSE WOULD GM INSIST THAT THE WHOLE UNIT BE REPLACED. MY CAR IS NOT ONLY MY TRANSPORTATION BUT IT IS ALSO MY LIVELIHOOD. I WILL NOT PAY $1500 -2000 TO FIX GM'S FAULTY EQUIPMENT. ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY KNOW IT'S FAULTY.

With GM recall N212340980, the toe link was replaced with a nonadjustable toe link and thus it can not be aligned properly causing the tire to wear incorrectly and causing vibration in the wheels and suspension and also causing the vehicle to pull to the center into oncoming traffic. This is a huge safety issue, the vibration can cause the lug nuts to loosen and wheel to come off while at highway speeds. Now I have to pay to have the toe link to be replaced with an adjustable toe link to correctly align the wheels to end the problem caused by this recall. This has been confirmed by an independent service center. This issue was discovered when the lateral arms were replaced due to the bushing becoming worn and needing replaced.

The contact stated that before she received the recall notice for repair her vehicle was driving perfectly fine, but after picking up her vehicle from the dealer the vehicle was not driving properly. The contact stated that while pulling out the parking lot she felt her vehicle swaying to the left and right intermittently. The contact stated the faster she drove the worst the vehicle swayed. The contact stated she was unable to exceed 25 MPH. The contact stated she then contacted the dealer regarding the repairs that was completed, and she was advised that if she brought the vehicle back, she had to pay out of pocket for any repairs. THE CADILLAC CUE SYSTEM BECOMES NON RESPONSIVE WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO CONTROL MOST THINGS WHICH ARE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED FROM THAT SYSTEM WHICH IS THE RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AND OTHER SYSTEMS. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN MOTION TO USE THIS SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM DEVELOPED SMALL CRACKS ALL OVER WHICH START FROM THE CORNERS AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX THEM.

THE LIFT GATE WILL NOT OPEN DUE TO THE CONTROL MODULE SHORT CIRCUITIING. THIS WAS DUE TO WATER BACKING UP FROM THE SUNROOF DRAIN HOSE WHICH SEEPED INTO THE TRUNK AREA AND SHORTED OUT THE LIFTGATE CONTROL BOX.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE DEALER FOR TWO MONTHS BEFORE BEING TAKEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,341. ..UPDATED 09/25/17 *BF MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE: TRANSMISSION LAGGING, AND REVVING INADVERTENTLY. THIS INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED 5 TIMES ON MY VEHICLE. THE MOST RECENT TODAY, 4/2/2014. WHAT HAPPENS IS I PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THEIR IS A DELAY OF 4 SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR ENGAGES AND MOVES. FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED WAS WHEN I WAS GETTING ON HIGHWAY. I PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. TWO TIMES I HAD THIS ISSUE OCCUR WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP SIGN. I PUSHED ON THE GAS AFTER STOPPING AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. I HAD ANOTHER INCIDENT AFTER BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND THEN PUSHED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. THE LATEST INCIDENT TODAY OCCURRED WHEN MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. AFTER I COMPLETED THE TURN I PUSHED ON THE GAS AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. IN EACH INCIDENT, IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS TRYING TO ENGAGE AND THEN IT FINALLY KICKS IN. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO LINDSAY CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR THIS VEHICLE AND NOTHING IS THE MATTER WITH IT. THEY REFER TO A JANUARY 2014 POST ON THEIR BLOG SITE. WHEN THEY READ IT TO ME I CONFIRM I WAS NOT PASSING A VEHICLE NOR DID I DO A ROLLING STOP SINCE THAT IS WHEN THEY SAY THIS ISSUE WOULD OCCUR. MY CAR HAD BEEN STALLING, OR "JERKING" WHEN A ACCELERATING FOR A WEEK OR SO BEFORE THE FOLLOWING INCIDENT, BUT DUE TO THE SHELTER IN PLACE ORDINANCE, L PUT OFF TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC. HOWEVER, MY CAR FINALLY SHUT OFF AT A STOP LIGHT, CAUSING A DISTRACTED DRIVER TO NEARLY REAR END ME. I CALLED ONSTAR INITIALLY TO GET IT TOWED, BUT SINCE MY FATHER IS A RETIRED MECHANIC, L CALLED HIM. HE WAS ABLE TO START IT AND DROVE IT TO THEIR HOME JUST A COUPLE MILES FROM THAT LOCATION. HE CHECKED WITH A FELLOW/WORKING MECHANIC AND HE THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS A AIR FLOW SENSOR. THAT PART WAS REPLACED A COUPLE DAYS LATER. I DROVE THE CAR TO RUN SEVERAL ERRANDS AND AS L WAS LEAVING THE GROCERY STORE ON ST. CHARLES RD IN BERKELEY, HEADED EAST, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. AGAIN, MY FATHER MET ME AT THE LOCATION, GOT IT TO START AND DROVE IT TO A WORKING MECHANIC. AFTER PLACING IT ON A MACHINE FOR REVIEW, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT APPEARED TO BE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AS HE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING ELSE WRONG. I WAS CHECKING ONLINE FOR PRICING BEFORE AGREEING TO REPAIRS ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME MAKE/MODEL FOR HESITATION IN ACCELERATION, DUE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I WAS DRIVING ON I94 WEST IN THE PASSING LANE AT 72 MILES PER HOUR WHEN MY ENGINE SHUT DOWN. THE DASHBOARD FLASHED 72, THEN 62, AND 52 MILES WITH AN ICON SHOWING THAT THE CAR WAS SHUTTING DOWN. FORTUNATELY, TRAFFIC ALLOWED ME TO COAST TO EXIT 112 (A MARSHALL, MI REST STOP) WHERE I WAITED 1.5 HOURS FOR A TOW. GENERAL MOTORS CHARGED ME FOR THE TOW. IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS AND MY CAR IS STILL WITH GM FOR SERVICE 45 MILES FROM MY HOME. I AM REPORTING THIS INCIDENT SO THAT YOU ARE AWARE AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL NOT HAPPEN TO OTHERS. I WAS LUCKY. Our 2013 Cadillac SRX headlamps are so weak and dark we cannot drive it after it gets dark. They are so weak that other cars pull out in front of us because they can't see us coming. This seems to us to be very dangerous. I talked to the service dept. at the Cadilliac dealership and they said "that' just the way it is with these cars" I think it's time for a recall and make GM make the necessary fix.

THE DEALERSHIP (MASSEY CADILLAC OF NORTH ORLANDO) INFORMED US THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLAMPS PROJECTOR BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT. THE HEADLAMPS CANNOT BE FIXED, ONLY REPLACED. REPLACING THE HEADLAMPS WOULD COST JUST OVER $1,000.00. WE FEEL CADILLAC HAS A DEFECT IN THERE HEADLAMPS AND IS MAKING NO EFFORT TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. WE CAN ONLY SPECULATE AS TO WHY CADILLAC WILL NOT RECALL OR HELP CUSTOMERS WITH OUT-OF-DATE WARRANTIES. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IT HAS BACKED UP, LEAKED INTO LEFT REAR (DRIVER'S SIDE) FLOOR CAUSING CARPET TO GET WET. IT TENDS TO LEAK IN REAR TAILGATE AREA OVER THE FUSE PANEL AND LIFT GATE MODULE SHORTING OUT THE POWER OR AUTOMATIC TAILGATE FEATURE. Low beam headlight are so dim, that it creates a safety hazard driving at night. The reflector material on the inside of the light bulb housing assembly has deteriorated to the point that the light bulbs light cannot project out the front of the light assembly. This makes driving at night very dangerous. We have not experienced an incident or accident concerning this problem, but I will not have anyone in my family drive this vehicle at night. This is a safety hazard that GM is not addressing.

I HAD TO JAM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND EVEN THEN THE VEHICLE ONLY GOT UP TO 20 MPH IN APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS. IT TOOK THE VEHICLE APPROX. 3-5 SECONDS TO RESPOND AT ALL. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROX. 1150 MILES ON IT. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS THAT CAME ON IN THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE DID NOT REV UP OR DO ANYTHING. I HAD A LOSS OF ACCELERATION OCCUR ON THANKSGIVING DAY. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL ROAD AT ABOUT 25MPH WHEN I CAME TO THE STOP SIGN AT THE END OF THE ROAD WHERE I WAS TURNING RIGHT. I COASTED UP TO THE STOP SIGN AND LOOKED TO THE LEFT AND IT WAS CLEAR AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TURN RIGHT. THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING ABOUT 4 HRS AND I HAD BEEN DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT 1.5 MILES WHEN IT OCCURRED. THE OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 64 DEGREES. IF THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE ME FORWARD INTO THE ROAD AND IT JUST DIDN'T RESPOND AT THE STOP SIGN THAT WOULDN'T BE NEARLY AS BAD BUT IT MOVES YOU ABOUT 5 FEET INTO TRAFFIC AND THEN STOPS RESPONDING FOR ABOUT 4 SECONDS AND IF THERE WAS AN ON COMING CAR I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel made an abnormal sound and then seized on two separate occasions during heavy rainfall. The contact had to forcefully turn the steering wheel while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the wheel bearing was replaced, however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the dealer replaced the driveshaft and the wheel bearing again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that he would receive a callback. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT OF A PUBLIC GYM AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00AM, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH, 2018. I STARTED MY CAR AND TURNED ON MY SEAT WARMER AS I WAS LEAVING THE GYM. WITHIN 30-45 SECONDS, I FELT A HOT SPOT BURNING MY LOWER BACK AREA. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE SEAT WARMER, AND I STARTED TO SMELL BURNT RUBBER. THE BURNED AREA OF ABOUT THE SIZE OF A DIME WAS BURNED INTO THE LOWER PORTION OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THIS CAUSED TWO CIGARETTE SIZED HOLES TO BURN INTO MY JACKET THAT I WAS WEARING AS WELL. CADILLAC WAS CONTACTED (CASE #[XXX]) AND THEY WERE NOT FORTHCOMING IN INFORMING ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. THE SEAT WARMER IN MY VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED A FIRE IN MY DRIVER'S SEAT. I WAS NOT DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT THE TIME. I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding my Cadillac SRX. For over a year, the ABS warning light has remained on in the vehicle. After taking it to an authorized dealership for diagnostics and repair, I was informed that the required part to resolve this issue is on backorder and is no longer being manufactured. This is highly concerning given that the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is a critical safety feature designed to prevent the wheels from locking up during braking, especially in emergencies. Driving without a functioning ABS increases the risk of accidents, making the vehicle unsafe to operate under normal driving conditions. I would like to address the following points: 1. Why is a critical safety-related part no longer being manufactured for a vehicle still in operation? 2. What is the manufacturer's plan for resolving safety concerns such as this, especially when replacement parts are unavailable? 3. Am I entitled to any form of compensation, replacement, or buyback under warranty or consumer protection laws? 4. What steps are being taken to ensure other affected Cadillac SRX owners are notified and protected? Given the severity of this issue, I have also filed a formal safety complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). I am also researching whether there is an open class action lawsuit or grounds for legal action due to the manufacturer's failure to support critical components of this vehicle. I am reporting Ed Morse Cadillac Delray Beach, for improperly handling a manufacturer recall service, which resulted in a new safety issue on my 2013 Cadillac SRX. On February 22nd 2025 I brought my vehicle in for the Cadillac rear tow link separation recall. After the dealership performed the repair, my ABS system malfunctioned—an issue that never existed before. The dealership initially acknowledged the issue but later dismissed it and refused to acknowledge the issue. Worse, they encouraged me to leave and drive the vehicle despite the ABS warning light being on, showing no concern for my safety. This is a serious safety concern, as my braking system was directly affected following a manufacturer recall service. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this dealership’s recall handling process and reconsider their status as an authorized recall service provider to protect future customers from similar issues.

I purchased the SRX from Massey Cadillac North of Orlando, FL in August 2023. Two weeks ago I received an audio warning and the ABS, Traction Control and Brake warning lights illuminated. The power steering was also compromised and required more effort to control the car. I took the car to Cadillac service and was told GM had discontinued the affected computer part and there was nothing they could do to alleviate the problem. They told me to be careful especially in the rain (I live in Florida where we get a lot of rain). I don’t think Cadillac should allow a vehicle with compromised safety features back on the road. I believe this condition could endanger a driver who might find themself in a situation where these safety features might prevent an accident or injury.

The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated after she pushed the liftgate button located on the driver's side door, she was moving items as the liftgate fell on her back without warning. As the contact attempted to manually push the liftgate back up, the liftgate continued to close. The contact managed to pull her way out from in between the vehicle and the liftgate and fell over backward onto the Wal-Mart parking lot pavement. Two employees and a fellow motorist witnessed the incident and assisted the contact from off the floor. The contact sustained bruises from her left should down to her waist, as well well soreness in her back. The contact also suffered from extreme anxiety and remained fearful of opening the liftgate. She did not seek immediate medical assistance. The contact called her doctor who determined that her symptoms did not warrant immediate medical attention; the contact had an existing appointment and would have a further examination during that visit. This water caused my trunk to COMPLETELY stop operating (water pooled at trunk latch/rusted), as well as water to saturate the electrical components near the front of my car and a FIRE TO ITNITE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE! Fire truck responded, pooled water found, mold also found because of previously unknown pooled water, and insurance totaled vehicle. SO SCARY! SO DISAPOINTED! THIS LEAKING WATER ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MANY FORUMS FOR THE SAME CADILLAC MAKE AND MODEL AND IT THREATENED MY LIFE. The sun roof draining tubes MUST BE RECALLED. I’m now out of a vehicle because of it and just grateful I was able to exit my vehicle as it filled with smoke.

I received a notice 21V473 from the NHTSA, via an email and a written letter nearly 90 days ago. GM dealers are stating they do not have the parts to repair this safety recall notice. How long do owners of these UNSAFE vehicles have to wait for these parts to be manufactured? NHTSA should be imposing some kind of DAILY fines on GM for these delay tactics. Am I suppose to not drive this vehicle because it is not safe to be on the road? GM is just stalling and using this delay tactic because they know this is going to cost them millions of dollars to correct these flaws. The owners of these vehicles are being punished by not making these repairs in a timely manner. NHTSA should put the pressure on GM to correct this malfunction in a more rapid manner by fining GM on a daily basis then maybe they will move off their duffs!

airbags light turned on, my seatbelts just stopped working and are tight, my radio screen just went blank. I can’t drive the vehicle because of no proper working seatbelts. If i was to wreck there is nothing to prevent me the driving or my front passenger from being ejected. Ive taken my vehicle to my dealership that confirmed the airbag sensor says they have been suddenly deployed the dealer also confirmed my vehicle has never been in a accident and ive only had the vehicle since april 19 2021 the problems occured July 5 2021 and they advised me they have heard of airbags popping out of nowhere. It has not been inspected by police or the manufacturer. The seatbelts locked the radio went blank then my airbag light appeared suddenly. I Asked the dealership im financing the vehicle from if they could provide me a safe vehicle until they resolve they issue because i do have toddlers and i was told no it wasnt a option i also asked if they could just exchange the vehicle for another around the same value and was also told no. I was most concerned that they allowed me to drive the vehicle off the lot after explaining to me the dangers that could occur while im on the road.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 13 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND THE ELECTRIC SEATS AND GPS DID NOT WORK. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (KING O'ROURKE GMC BUICK, CADILLAC IN SMITHTOWN, NY, 631-724-4700) WHERE THE FAILURES WERE REPAIRED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE POWER LIFTGATE DID NOT WORK. THE SAME DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2017. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE CONTACT WAS ISSUED A CASE NUMBER. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IN NOVEMBER OF 2016 AND DROVE IT OFF THE LOT I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. TWO VEHICLES HAVE ALMOST HIT ME DUE TO THE LAG IN ACCERLATION. I'VE SPOKEN WITH MY DEALERSHIP SEVERAL OF TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY DO NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON MY SUV AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS STATING IT WAS FIXED PROPERLY. I CURRENTLY GO THROUGH 13 MILES PER GALLON WHICH IS NOT NORMAL.

THUS NO ABILITY TO CONTROL HEATER OR DEFROST SYSTEM AND OWNERS MANUAL INDICATED THAT IF THE VSS LIGHT IS LIT THE VSS SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATIONAL. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO OPERATE A VEHICLE IN MICHIGAN IN THE WINTER WITH OUT CONTROL OF THE DEFROSTER AND SINCE THE VSS SYSTEM IS TIED IN TO THE BRAKES I AM NOT CONFIDENT THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WILL FUNCTION. VEHICLE PURCHASED 6-29-13 AND HAS APPROX 37,000 MILES. DEALER OFFERED TO REPAIR FOR $1750.00 BUT NEGOTIATED TO $750.00 I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT ON A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS. THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 5 "SERVICE UPDATE BULLETINS " WITH SOFTERWARE UPDATED FOR THE CUE SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE WHEN I HAVE HAD IT IN FOR SERVICE. SO CLEARLY THERE ARE ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS WITH THIS SYSTEM AND MY LATEST PROBLEM IMPACTS MY SAFETY WHILE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE IN THE WINTERTIME. I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THES SOFTERWARECAND OPERATIONAL ISSUES TO PRESERVE DRIVER SAFETY WHILE USING THIS VEHICLE. IT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE IN LATE AUGUST 2016 AND WHEN STARTED UP IN EARLY NOVEMBER THE CUE CONTROL SYSTEM SCREEN WAS UNRESPONSIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. SINCE PURCHASED NEW, THIS CAR HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN A NUMBER OF RECALLS THAT HAVE/HAVE NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURED 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE--AT SLOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE A NOISE SIMILAR TO THAT OF WORN BRAKE PADS/ROTOR AT SLOW SPEEDS. UPON MY PERSONAL INSPECTION, THE BLUE LUG NUTS WERE LESS THAN HAND TIGHT ON DRIVERS FRONT AND PASSENGER REAR--THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR FIRST OIL CHANGE AND TO INSPECT THIS DEFECT--THEY STATED THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE LUG NUT RECALL THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ISSUED ON OTHER SRX MODELS.I STATED CONCERN OF THE INTEGRITY OF THE WHEEL STUDS SINCE THEY WERE LIKELY STRESSED WHILE DRIVING WITH LOOSE NUTS, ALONG WITH POTENTIAL UNEVEN TIRE WEAR, BUT THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT AGREE. 6 MONTHS LATER, A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR DOOR HANDLES--THE FIX WAS REMOVING AND MILLING DOWN PARTS AND PLACING BACK ON. 6 MONTHS LATER, THE CAR WOULD NEARLY STALL OUT/HAVE DELAYED RESPONSE TO ACCELERATION AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN--THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY IF OCCURED WHILE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC (LUCKILY NEVER THE CASE)-- THOUGHT THIS WAS DUE TO WIFE LETTING GAS LEVEL REACH LOW LEVEL BEFORE REFILLING, BUT FOUND OUT WAS ELECTRONIC ISSUE IN THE PROGRAM (RECALLED AND FIXED). 2 MONTHS LATER THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT WELL BETWEEN RAPID ACCELERATION--RECIEVED NOTIFICATION OF ANOTHER COMPUTER ISSUE THAT CONTROLS THE TRANSMISSION. (ALTHOUGH A CARD WAS SENT IN THE MAIL NOTIFYING OF THIS ISSUE, THIS DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE WHEN SEARCHED). 2013 CADIILAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION. *SMD ON JUNE 14, 2014, THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, IN FRONT OF HIS RESIDENCE. THE LAST TIME, THE CONSUMER WAS AT THE DEALER, HE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION ACTING STRANGE. IN PARTICULAR WITHOUT WARNING, IT WOULD RACE, THE RPM WOULD SURGE AND IT WAS NECESSARY TO BRAKE DURING THOSE TIMES. WHEN HE ENTERED THE DRIVEWAY, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS IN GEAR. HE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A FULL AND COMPLETE STOP, WITH HIS RIGHT FOOT MAINTAINING CONSTANT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, HE MOVED THE GEAR INDICATOR FROM DRIVE TO PARK. IMMEDIATELY UPON DOING SO, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED RACING. AS THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, HE TOOK HIS RIGHT FOOT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. HIS HANDS WERE NOT ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIS FOOT WAS NOT ON THE BRAKE OR ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WITH THE ENGINE RACING, HE REACHED FOR THE KEY TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, BUT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD, OUT OF PARK AND SHOT FORWARD. AFTER COMING TO A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT, I WILL TRY TO PUSH MY GAS PEDAL AND THE SRX WILL MOVE ABOUT 2 FEET OR SO AND THEN COMPLETELY STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 OR 5 TIMES AND BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM, THEY SAY THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE SRX DOESN'T MAKE ANY NOISE WHILE PUSHING THE PEDAL, IT JUST ACTS AS IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT MOVE AGAIN IS IF I CHANGE IT INTO REVERSE OR NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE. I'VE BEEN ALMOST KILLED AT DIFFERENT INTERSECTIONS ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN JULY OF 2013. IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 4PM. MY SISTER AND I WERE HEADED TO PETERSBURG, VA FROM CHARLOTTE, NC. WITH ONLY 50 MILES TO GO ON 85N WE BOTH HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXTREMELY LOUD AND CLOSE GUN SHOT. I WAS DRIVING AND SHE WAS SLEEPING. IT WOKE HER UP AND SCARRED BOTH OF US TO DEATH. NOT KNOWING WHAT JUST HAPPENED SHE STARTED LOOKING AROUND. THE NEXT THING WE HEARD WAS GLASS BREAKING AND FALLING ON TO THE SUNROOF LINER OF THE CAR. LUCKILY WE WERE ONLY A MILE FROM A REST AREA. I PULLED OVER, GOT OUT OF THE CAR, OPENED THE BACK DOOR TO STAND ON THE INSIDE TO BE ABLE TO SEE ON TOP AND WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK AT WHAT I SAW. ONE SECTION OF MY SUNROOF HAD BEEN BROKEN. MY CAR HAS A PANORAMIC SUNROOF WITH TWO SEPARATE PANELS. THE BACK PANEL WAS SHATTERED INTO MILLIONS OF TINY FRAGMENTS. THE GLASS CONTINUED TO BREAK AND FALL ON TO THE LINER. SMALL PIECES MANAGED TO GET THROUGH ONTO THE BACK SEAT. I DID THE BEST I COULD IN CLEANING UP THE PIECES. I CALLED A STATE TROOPER AND MADE A REPORT, I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND ALSO ONSTAR. I SPENT THE WEEKEND WITH NO SUNROOF BECAUSE THE CADILLAC SERVICE DEPT IN VA IS NOT OPEN ON THE WEEKEND. THIS IS A REPORT OF A NEARLY FATAL ACCIDENT ON JUNE 29TH, 2013 WITH A NEW CADILLAC SRX THAT WAS LEASED FROM GM. THE ACCIDENT INVOLVED BOTH ME AND MY DAUGHTER WHO WERE BELTED IN THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUGHT FIRE AND ACCELERATE TO 110 MPH. WE WERE TRAVELING ON RT 127 N WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 60 MPH. I WAS PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE SPEED STARTED TO DRAMATICALLY INCREASE. I WOULD BREAK AND THE SPEED WOULD COME DOWN AND THEN IT WOULD CONTINUE TO RISE. BLACK SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE. USING BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE, IT FINALLY CAME DOWN TO 5MPH, BUT IT WOULD NOT STOP. I PULLED OVER AT 5 MPH AND SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK. I USED ONSTAR AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, THE SHERIFF, AND ANOTHER POLICE OFFICER WERE ON THE SCENE. THIS WAS A LIFE THREATENING EVENT!!
