While on low beam, the headlights are WAY too dim. Apparently, this is a common and well known problem. I just purchased this car, have replaced the bulbs, checked the voltage and cleaned the lens. I cannot see to drive at night on low beam.

This moisture degrades the internal reflective coating, permanently destroying the light's effective output. 2. Failure to Act Despite Known Issues General Motors (GM) and the appropriate safety regulators have been aware of this critical defect for years, yet no mandatory safety recall has been issued: * NHTSA Complaint History: According to public records, complaints regarding this exact issue have been "pouring in" for the last five years or more. The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the headlamps were extremely dim and failed to properly illuminate the roadway while driving. The high-beam headlights had to be activated to properly illuminate the roadway while driving. The dealer was contacted and notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The headlight bulbs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.

I noticed that changing out my headlight bulbs on my vehicle that I still could not see at night. I also bought a very good brand / new led lights for my 2014 srx. I have done research and noticed the headlights itself seems to be an issue on a lot of these specific vehicles . It makes it very hard at night to see and honestly makes it very dangerous to drive it darker areas without keeping my brights on .

I have a 2014 Cadillac SRX AWD. My passenger rear tire kept losing air. I looked it over a dozen times and never found anything wrong with it as to why it was losing air. I would put air in it and within 2-3 days, I needed to put air in it again. This went on for a few months at least. Then out of nowhere my driver rear tire started losing air and when that started my passenger tire was holding air. Again, I looked my tire over and no screws or anything. Same thing with my passenger rear, I would have to put air in it every couple days. Just 2 days ago I was putting air in my driver rear tire, I stopped for a minute to check to see how much PSI I still needed to go. It was at 30PSI so I had a little left to go then BAM my tire blew. It wasn't even close to where it needed to be. my fiancé took my tire off and it was badly worn from the inside. I hadn't had these tires for 2 years and they should have lasted another year or 2. My boyfriend told me it was because of the toe links rubbing on them and that I needed adjustable ones. I looked on this website for recalls and according to my VIN number I don't have any recalls even though there has been for these rear toe links for other 2010-2016 Cadillacs. I can't drive my car until this is fixed. I should not have to pay for this myself. What if my tire blew when I was driving down the road with my daughter? I would have lost control of the car. All 2010-2016 Cadillacs should get the toe links replaced with adjustable ones immediately.

Delaminating/Unworking Touch Screen - KNOWN Cadillac issue 1) Back up camera is no longer visible when parking my car. 2) GPS is no longer available due to the spider lines, I have to use my phone for GPS on the highway making it unsafe due to the super small screen instead of the large CUE screen in the Cadillac SRX I purchased. 3) You can no longer pair your cell phone with the Bluetooth in the Cadillac, because of the spider lines on the screen causing the screen to stop working completely. This makes my vehicle no longer handsfree. 4) I can no longer control the heating and cooling system with the touchscreen not working,

Rear trunk/hatch lid: I had pressed the switch on the hatch lid to cause closing. At this point my wife walked too close to the closing hatch and it hit her, and continued to close, causing a gash on her forehead. I am of the belief that any contact made by the hatch and a foreign object will cause the hatch to reverse its closing action.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH, the infotainment screen intermittently darkened and became inoperable. Additionally, the back-over prevention camera was intermittently inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an unknown component failure that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and made the contact aware of a GMC reimbursement program associated with the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

My elderly mother has a 2014 Cadillac SRX. While the vehicle was parked, the center information radio cue system screen cracked all of sudden. I am unable to use or see the cue system and afraid to touch the screen, so that I will not cut my hand or get injured. There was no warning that the screen had cracked. Since the incident first happened the cracking has gotten so much worst. I had my my mother take the vehicle to the dealer, to figure out why this happened, they informed me that the cost to replace the entire cue system would cost over $1200, and it was nothing that they could do, and that they have never seen this happen before. The vehicle only had approximately 43,000 miles on it when this happened. This is extremely unacceptable. TSB: PIC6055C (Electrical: Radio/Tape Deck/CD).

My CUE screen is cracked and unresponsive. I went to the dealership and they said it was out of warranty and they would not repair item. From looking online the CUE system is defective and has affected many Cadillac cars. I am very disappointed with GM. I had the top model and it should not have cracked. They have known about the problem for years and chose to ignore it. I am leery of buying another Cadillac since they do not care about their customers.

SO I TOOK MY 2014 CADILLAC SRX WITH 74000 MILES TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AT A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP IN NJ AND WAS TOLD THE AXLE OIL PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH SERVICE HOURS OF 6 AND GRAND TOTAL $1600 FOR REPAIRS.

2014 low beams became dim. I changed out the bulbs for new ones and still cannot drive my vehicle at night. The SRX website states this is a known Cadillac SRX problem but there is no fix except to replace the lights with the same defective lights

The headlamp assembly is faulty. There is virtually no visibility from headlights. The headlamps were so bad, I was put at risk because I was almost hit head on by an oncoming vehicle at night. I had to veer off the road to avoid collision, risking mine and my daughter's life. It has been inspected by dealership and confirmed the headlight assembly faulty because of damage to internal component. An independent service center diagnosed and confirmed as well.

THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS CAR AS SO DIM THAT YOU CANNOT DRIVE IT SAFELY AT NIGHT. CADILLAC REFUSES TO ACCEPT THERE IS AN ISSUE. Class action lawsuit was file for headlights that go dim after life of the vehicle. I never received letter in regards to lawsuit and dealer will not help to replace headlights. This should be a recall headlights are very important dealer and manufacture are aware of this headlight issue because of the class action lawsuit they settled. PLEASE MAKE THIS A RECALL HEADLIGHTS GO DIM NO VISIABILITY AT NIGHT!!!! Manufacture recommends to replace out of pocket expense to consumer knowing it is a manufacture defect on their part. No accident but many close calls.

Dim lights housing burned out. Diagnosed by local mechanic and confirmed by Cadillac dealership in Smyrna, Ga. Service dept. says all SRX are having this problem, but he also stated that the recall was already done. The actual recall I received was about condensation in the lights which does not seem to be a problem for my vehicle, so if people are taking their vehicles in and being told the recall is already done, then they are probably not reporting the problem. This affects the safety of myself and others as I am unable to see well in dimly lit areas and I have to use my bright lights to avoid having an accident. There is no warning indicator for this. I can just tell that the lights are not working properly. Also the electronic touch screen that controls the radio and heating is not working properly. I cannot redirect the heat, so it only blows out of defrost vents. It’s very cold in the back for my 4 year old. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request and once I get the mechanic to look at it again, I can provide a picture of the burned out housing unit.

Most owners complain to Cadillac but not to NHTSA Cadillac is aware. Low beam headlights on these vehicles are un safe. Especially in drizzle or darkness. This should be urgent!!!! Head light bulb is so hot, it burns the chrome plating off the inside of the headlight assembly. Once chrome is gone, so is the reflectivity needed to project the light through the magnifier and on to the street. Extremely dangerous situation.. This problem has been confirmed and is well known by the manufacturer. This puts everyone in and around the SRX in grave danger. This has been inspected by many mechanics. My car is undriveable after sunset because of low beam dim headlights. My car is a 2014 Cadillac SRX with 74971 miles. I've had a estimate of $1763.24 to fix problem at Labadie Cadillac in Bay City, MI. After investigation this has been a problem known to you for years, I don't understand why a safety recall has not already been ordered against GM, we can't see where we're going at night, that sounds like a safety problem to me. I know GM has paid for repairs after class action lawsuits, but why wasn't a safety recall ordered by you?

you can not see the highway at night.one has to slow down or stop to see.the only way to see is with the high beams on,which is unsafe for other drivers coming toward you.on other ocassions,i simply had to pull over to the side of the road.

WE PURCHASED THIS 2014 SRX IN 2017 IN DAYLIGHT AT GATEWAY BUICK,DALLAS,TX. AFTER A FEW DAYS DRIVING IT AT NIGHT COULD QUICKLY TELL THE HEADLIGHTS WERE TOO TOO DIM TO BE DRIVING AT NIGHT, COMPLAINED MANY TIMES TO THEM, THEY EVEN LATER CHECKED LIGHTS OUT AND SAID ALL WAS OK! VERY DISGUSTED WITH CADILLAC NOT WANTING TO RECALL AS I FOUND OUT THAT THE 2010'S THR 2015'S ARE ALL DEFECTIVE. WE CALL CADILLAC AND THEY TELL US THIS CAR IS IN NAME OF A MAN IN CALIFORNIA AND THEY CAN'T HELP US. I AM VERY VERY MAD AT CADILLAC FOR NOT SUPPORTING THEIR CUSTOMERS IN THIS WAY! WE HAVE NO ONE TO TURN TO BUT ONLY FINDING A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH SAME PROBLEM ONLINE AND NOTHING BEEN DONE ABOUT THIS TRAGIC SITUATION. THE HEADLIGHTS OF THE CADILLAC SRX (2014) ARE SO DIM THAT YOU CANNOT SEE THE ROAD IN FRONT YOU AT NIGHT/EARLY MORNING. IT IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE HEADLIGHTS. GM Corp/Cadillac issued a recall to the vehicles info center CUE screens. They were deteriorating and potential provide false information on the cars message center. Cadillac replaced t he CUE screen on the 2014 SRX . The same screen that was replaced is now deteriorated to the point, that after 30 minutes of driving, the screen has become inoperative to the touch and not able to display and current information about the cars condition. This inoperative screen and lack of information creates a distraction and concern about the cars condition. THE CUE STOP WORKING. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS KIND OF VEHICLE. ALL THE OWNERS WHO HAVE THE VEHICLES ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR PLACE ANOTHER KIND OF SYSTEM IN THE CAR. The ABS control module in my car is inoperable. I have lights on for ABS, brakes, and stabiltrac. Upon further investigation the ABS module is no longer available and no aftermarket part available. This leaves my car useless being I no longer feel safe driving it. If I lock up brakes in an emergency, my car could go into an uncontrollable slide (being front wheel drive) especially on wet roads. This would hold true for all of this make and many year models therefore many unsafe vehicles on road without the ABS braking control. I am at a loss....

Vehicle has dangerous and life threatening transmission problem that has cause me to lose control of my vehicle. Problem with jerking and cutting off started approximately in 2022 with 2 visits to shop for repair. In May 2023 until 2024, vehicle has been in repair shop for repairing including replacing transmission with a rebuilt transmission. Repair shop said vehicle is still u nsafe and may need to replace tranmission computer . Repairs has already caused me almost $20,000.

Safety Defect Remedies on 2014 Cadillac SRX (VIN: [XXX] ) Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing as the owner of a 2014 Cadillac SRX, VIN [XXX] , to address two critical safety defects that I believe are the manufacturer's responsibility to remedy. Water Intrusion and Electrical Failure: My vehicle has a known defect where water from the sunroof consistently leaks into the trunk. This water repeatedly causes electrical damage to the component located under the spare tire. I have personally replaced this component on three separate occasions, only to have it fail again after rain. This recurring failure disables my rear windshield wiper, a crucial safety feature. Driving with my child in the car while unable to clear the rear window is the most unsafe I have ever felt. Dangerously Dim Headlights: The front headlights are dangerously dim and do not provide adequate illumination for safe night driving. This is a well-documented issue with this model and poses a clear and present danger to my family and others. I have already spent my own money attempting to fix a problem that is a design flaw. I have no desire to pay for any further remedies for these issues. As the manufacturer, General Motors is responsible for the safety of its vehicles. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND YOU ARE USING LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC THE HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT PUT OUT ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE THE ROAD. MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THESE CARS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT IS WAY TO DIM AND NOT MUCH BRIGHTER THE THE DAY TIME DRIVING LIGHTS. 1. Since owning the 2014 SRX the headlights are so dim to the point of not being able to use the vehicle at night or storms for fear of a crash. Now the Driver side HID Has failed along with the headlights housing to be cloudy on the inside. 2.Rear Door Hatch malfunction. Will not open or close with door switch , key fob or button on rear hatch door. I can open manually and close manually however this is a HUGE inconvenience as the rear door is so heavy. I’ve been told by the service department that it’s a design flaw from Cadillac Sunroof drain?

HEADLIGNTS ARE SO DIM ON MY VEHICLE, WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS. I HAVE GONE TO THE ACTUAL CADILLAC SEWELL DEALERSHIP, THEY AGREED WITH ME THAT THE LIGHTS ON BOTH HEADLIGHTS ARE WAY TOO DIM. I ASKED THEM TO PLACE A BRIGHTER LIGHTBULB, BUT THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO DO THAT SINCE IT'S AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE ENTIRE LIGHT FIXTURE. THEY SAID IT WAS COMMON WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL, AND REPLACING THE ENTIRE LIGHT FIXTURE WAS $1500 PER HEADLIGHT, MAKING $3000 TO MAKE HEADLIGHTS SAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. IT APPEARS THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE, THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE THE CONSUMER PAY FOR FOR A PROBLEM NOT CAUSED BY THE CONSUMER. Today is Saturday, November 11, 2023. While driving my check, engine light came on, and I was given a message on the dash that engine power was reduced. I was only able to drive the car 30 to 45 miles an hour to get home. I have not taken the car to the mechanic yet, but will do so when they open on Monday. I was in a heavily congested area with many cars passing me at great speeds. I connected a code reader to my automobile, and came up with the code P2138. After doing research, it is my understanding that General Motors knows of this problem and has not addressed it at this time. For that reason, I feel I should be reimbursed for mechanic parts and services to repair this problem.

I have been trying to enjoy this vehicle from the time it became part of my life. The first 6 months, I was unable to close the sunroof, because of that my passenger seat cracked since its been exposed to the sun for 5 years, the driver's side window could not roll down which we fixed; I never owned a vehicle where I could not access my trunk. The first 6 months of having this vehicle the lifgate became inoperable. the lift gate does not work. The sensors of the vehicle are useless, the car radioi does not work the cue sticks, which can be distracting and can cause an accident so I use the YouTube on my phone for entertainment. The sensors led to the transmission deteriorating to the point of the transmission fluid burning faster and deteriorating the components of the transmission. This is going to cost me 6000.00 These are known manufacture defects for the SRX 2014. Please help

The car needs an EBCM or EBTCM depending on which. dealer I'm talking to. The stability control service and power steering are turned off and the anti-lock brakes are disabled. I have been to two dealerships and the part is on nationwide backorder and is not being manufactured. One dealer has 15 clients waiting for the part the other 14 they are not taking new orders. I was told my best bet was to trade the car in. The car is unsafe to drive. I think all 2010 to 2016 SRX's should be taken off the road, they are a danger to themselves and others.

The rear hatch door of my SRX has been not functioning properly. It opens and closes with erratic function. Regularly I've hit the button to open it and it has begun to close on me with shear force trying to crush my body while loading groceries. It has hit me in the head and the back causing pain. This is very dangerous because it isn't falling suddenly its closing with force. If I try to push it back up it pushes against my weight. I want to sell my car but I'm worried it will hurt someone.

The service Stabilitrak system light came on. After consulting the service manual, the suggestion was to switch the car off and restart in a few seconds. That worked for a few weeks. After that the Service Stabilitrak light, the brake light and the parking brake light has remained lit. We have not been able to get an appointment yet to get this checked out because the dealership cannot guarantee that they can look at it the same day we bring it in. They need a week. We can't afford a rental car for a week.

I PURCHASED A 2014 CADILLAC SRX AND BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION 7 MONTHS LATER. I WAS EXPERIENCING HARD SHIFT CHANGES CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING, TO THE POINT WHERE I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES FOR A DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW. OCCORDING TO THEM THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR UNTIL I DROVE IT THERE AND PHYSICALLY REQUESTED A MANAGER TO COME OUT AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH ME. THEN AND ONLY THEN THEY ADMITTED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, THEY KEPT IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND CLAIMED THEY PERFORMED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL. I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND 5 WEEKS LATER I WAS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, THIS TIME WORST THAN THE 1ST TIME. BY THEN MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, THEY DID NOT WANT TO GUARANTEE THEIR REPAIR AND THEY WANTED ME TO PAY ALMOST 3,000 DOLLARS FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIR THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE DONE. MY OTHER ISSUE IS WITH THE CUE, IT CRACKED WHILE THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO PAY 1,500 DOLLARS TO FIX. SECOND TIME I HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT. ON MAY 12, 2018, WE WERE DRIVING WEST ON MARYLAND INTERSTATE 68 THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS. WE WERE DRIVING DOWNWARD ON ONE OF THE MANY MOUNTAINS AND I NOTICED A WOBBLE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. I BEGAN TO WORRY AND SLOWED DOWN FROM 70 MPH TO 50 MPH. AS I APPROACHED THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN THERE WAS A CURVE TO THE LEFT. ALL OF THE SUDDEN WE LOST CONTROL LIKE WE WERE ON ICE. WE TURNED 360 DEGREES AND SLAMMED INTO THE RIGHT BERM GUARD RAIL AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TRAVEL BACK ACROSS THE TWO LAND HIGHWAY AND HIT THE LEFT MEDIAN GUARDRAIL AND CAME TO A STOP.
