MIDDLE INJECTOR O-RING ON LEFT BANK IS LEAKING AT THE TOP. MY CAR IS A 1993 CHRYSLER CONCORDE AND FALLS UNDER RECALL ID 98V184000. THE RECALL WAS DONE ONCE AND I KNOW THAT THE O-RINGS ARE REPLACED AS PART OF THIS RECALL SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WON'T FIX THIS AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY AND THEY CHARGED ME $102 LABOR BECAUSE THEY SAID IT DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL. AS I UNDERSTAND THIS THE O-RINGS WERE REPLACED AND NOW THERE WORK HAS FAILED AND THEY WON'T STAND BEHIND IT. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO START, AND THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC SHOP, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. THE UPPER PLENUM AND ALL THE O RINGS WERE REPLACED.

DT: THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL RAIL,, AND WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. THE CONSUMER WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL. THE RECALL INFORMATION WAS FOUND THROUGH A CHRYSLER WEBSITE, AND CONSUMER PUT IN THE LAST EIGHT DIGITS OF THE VIN AND THEY WERE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER'S SON CONTACTED CHRYSLER THIRTY TIMES , AND THEY ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO TAKE THE CAR TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THERE WAS FUEL RAIL LEAK, AND A NEW FUEL RAIL WOULD HAVE TO BE INSTALLED, ALONG WITH OTHER WIRING THAT WAS MELTED AS A RESULT. THE CONSUMER'S SON HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, AND WISHED TO TAKE VEHICLE AWAY FROM CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BECAUSE HE FELT THEY WERE DOING NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. CHRYSLER AGREED TO FIX THE RECALL BUT FIRST THEY WANTED TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE AS THE CONSUMER SMELLED SOMETHING ODD AND PULLED OVER. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE HOOD WAS RAISED. AND A SMALL FIRE CAME FROM THE FUEL RAIL. A BYSTANDER PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH HIS HAND, AND THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. *AK

THE AIR CONDITIONER SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAILED EVAPORATOR COIL. I QUESTIONED HOW AN EVAPORATOR COIL COULD FAIL, SINCE IN MY EXPERIENCE HAVING OWNED MORE THAN 80 VEHICLES I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF AN EVAPORATOR COIL JUST FAILING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE MATERIALS USED TO MANUFACTURE THE EVAPORATOR COIL ARE SUBJECT TO CORROSION AND RAPID FAILURE WHEN THE SYSTEM IS CHARGED WITH R-134 REFRIGERANT. THOSE SYSTEMS THAT FAILED PRIOR TO REACHING 70,000 MILES WERE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE BY THE MANUFACTURER, BUT NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO NOTIFY CUSTOMERS THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPONENTS UNLESS THE SYSTEM ACTUALLY FAILED. THOSE OF US WHO HAD THESE FAILURES OCCUR AFTER THE 70,000 MILE CUTOFF ARE FACED WITH APPROXIMATELY $1,000 IN REPAIR COSTS. THE REALLY TERRIBLE PART ABOUT THIS IS THAT THE DEALER INFORMED ME THE SYSTEM WILL PROBABLY FAIL AGAIN WITHIN 2 YEARS AND THERE IS NO BETTER COMPONENT AVAILABLE TO ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM. HE ALSO INDICATED THAT THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM UNIQUE TO CHRYSLER, RATHER ALL MANUFACTURERS ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS AFTER SWITCHING TO THE NEW REFRIGERANTS. IT APPEARS THAT THE CONSUMERS HAVE BEEN DUPED AGAIN.

THE PASSENGER BUCKET SEAT, INBOARD SEAT-TRACK IS BROKEN. THIS CAUSES THE INBOARD SIDE TO BE LOOSE. THE INBOARD SEAT ASSY CAN MOVE SEVERAL INCHES UP/DOWN. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS SIMILAR TO THE ONE DESCRIBED IN A CHRYSLER "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION" WHERIN THE INBOARD PIVOT BRACKET WAS TO BE REPLACED ON THE DRIVERS SEAT. IN WHAT MAY BE A RELATED PROBLEM THE FORE/AFT POWER SEAT MOTOR IS EITHER BURNED OUT OR DEFECTIVE. IN SHORT, THE PASSENGER BUCKET SEAT TRACK ASSY. IS DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE. THE DEALER PARTS DEPARTMENT STATES THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT TRACK ASSY. MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $450 OR SO IN PARTS ALONE. IN THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT IS UNSTABLE AND THAT THE PROBLEM IS A DEFECT IN MATERIALS OR DESIGN, I BELIEVE THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE GROUNDS FOR A RECALL AND NO COST REPAIR. IN ADDITION, BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEAT TRACKS HAVE HAD 6 INCH PLASTIC GUIDES BREAK AND COME LOOSE FROM THE TRACK ASSY. THIS CAUSES THE SEATS TO BE MILDLY UNSTABLE AND LOOSE.

I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT, I HAD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE RITE TO GET OUT. WHEN MY FRONT TIRES CAME OFF THE DRIVE WAY( OR CURB) I HEARD A SNAP. MY TIRES WOULDNT MOVE AFTER THAT. THE STEERIING WHEEL WOULD MOVE BUT MY TIRES WOULDNT. I HAD TO PAY $150 TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A AN AUTO SHOP ($50), HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT AND TELL ME WHAT HAD HAPPENED($70), AND HAVE IT TOWED BACK($50). THE AUTO SHOP TOLD ME THAT TWO BOLTS THAT HOLD THE TIE RODS TO THE RACK AND PINION HAD SNAPED IN HALF. THEY WANTED $820 TO FIX IT. I HAD THEM TOW IT BACK TO MY PARKING SPOT. I TOOK THE RACK AND PINION OUT MYSELF AND GOT THE BOLTS OUT. I AM STILL IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING THIS PROBLEM. MY WIFE HAD LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF THIS PROBLEM HAD HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE. SHE FOUND THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO QUITE A FEW PEOPLE. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO OWNES A 1994 DODGE INTREPID. MY FRIEND SAID THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIS CAR. HE WAS DRIVING WHEN IT HAPPENED TO HIM, HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS CAR AND WAS HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. MY WIFE FOUND A STORY OF A COUPLE OF PEOPLE THAT HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IT ENDED UP TAKING THE LIVES OF THERE 18 YR OLD DAUGHTER AND HER BOYFRIEND. I COULDNT FIND A RECALL FOR IT ON YOUR WEBSITE. I DONT KNOW IF YOU OR THE COMPANY'S WHO HAVE BUILT THESE CARS KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM. IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED IF IT WERE INVESTAGAED. BEFORE IT TAKES ANYMORE LIVES.

1. NO GRADUAL SIGNS. ONE DAY, FRONT END VERY UNSTABLE, SHAKING AND WOBBLING - AS IF FRONT END NOT ALIGNED OR BAD TIRES / INFLATION. STEERING THE VEHICLE WAS A CHALLENGE & FELT VERY UNSAFE. SAME DAY, I TOOK VEHICLE TO TIRE STORE TO HAVE LOOKED AT, TIRES CHECKED / ROTATED IF NEEDED. REPLACED ONE REAR TIRE THAT WAS SOON TO BE NEEDED AND CHECKED INFLATION ON OTHERS, ETC. 5:30PM, I WAS SENT ON MY WAY. CAR DROVE BETTER IT SEEMED - FOR APPROX. 4 MILES. 2. 5:45PM - AT RED STOP LIGHT, WHILE WAITING FOR LIGHT TO CHANGE EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE WITH VEHICLE. ONCE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WAS 2ND CAR IN LINE TO PROCEED... WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE FORWARD, VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO. I THOUGHT MAY HAVE STALLED - NO. IT WOULD JUST NOT GO. I GOT OUT OF VEHICLE WHILE TRYING TO DIRECT TRAFFIC AROUND ME... LOOKED AT FRONT OF CAR, NOTHING. BENT DOWN TO LOOK AT TIRES & BOTH FRONT TIRES WERE FACING (TURNED) INWARD - TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A VEHICLE DO THIS !!! THANK GOD I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD BOLT CONNECTING UPPER TIE ROD TO RACK IS BROKEN OFF IN RACK !!! 3. ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN - HOWEVER, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BOLTS BREAKING ON ANY EQUIPMENT. MY SON HAS A 1993 CONCORDE, AND HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE STEERING. VIBRATION IN STEERING, AND TO MUCH PLAY. WHEN HE INFORMED ME OF THE PROBLEM HE WAS HAVING, I TOLD HIM TO TURN HIS STEERING WHEEL, THEN HE TURNED IT THE OTHER WAY, BOTH TIE RODS LOOKED ODD. I TOLD HIM DON'T TAKE THE CAR FAR. AFTER HE LEFT, I NOTICED ODD MARKS LEFT IN THE DIRT IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE DRIVER SIDE TIRE, LEFT LARGER AND HEAVIER IMPRINT THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE. AS I WAS READING THE INFORMATION I WAS AMAZED, THEN READING FURTHER I NOTICED THEY EXPLAIN THE PROBLEMS AND WHAT HAPPENS. GRANTED THE CAR HAS 135,000 MILES ON IT, IF THE ORIGINAL OWNER HAD A PROBLEM AND HAD IT FIXED OR BAND AIDED ADD ANOTHER 65,000 MILES TO A PROBLEM THAT ALREADY EXISTS, IT WOULD BE TIME TO FIX AGAIN. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM, AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THE CAR HAS OTHER ISSUES, BESIDES THE STEERING, THIS ALSO EXPLAINS WHY MOST OF THE CHRYSLERS AT THE YOU PULL IT YARD I WAS AT WHERE HEAVENLY DAMAGED IN THE FRONT, AND HEAD ON. IF YOUR STEERING FAILS, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE HOLD ON, HOPE FOR THE BEST, TILL YOU HIT SOMETHING HEAD ON, OR SOMEONE HITS YOU. I HAVE HAD SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH MY SON, HE BECAME HEAVILY ADDICTED TO HEROIN, IT TOOK ME 2 YEARS TO GET HIM TO GET THE HELP HE NEEDED. HE WENT TO A FAITH BASED REHAB, HE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM AND CAME HOME OCTOBER 2006. HE WORKED ALL YEAR TO SAVE UP FOR A CAR, THIS GAVE HIM A GREAT BOOST, THAT HE ACCOMPLISHED HIS GOAL. I GUESS I AM LUCKY THAT I KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT CARS, AND MY SON IS ABLE TO TALK WITH ME ABOUT HIS ISSUES WITH THE CAR, SO NO ONE HAS BEEN HURT YET. ON 09/11/03 I PURCHASED A USED 1993 CHRYSLER CONCORDE. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE LOW FUEL GAUGE AND AIRBAG LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON, ND MY TANK IS AT LEAST HALF FULL ALL THE TIME. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND WHEN THEY DO, IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SOMETIMES STALL AND JERK VIOLENTLY AS IF I'VE BEEN HIT FROM THE REAR AND GAS FUMES ARE SO STRONG THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH PRIVATE MECHANICS AND EXPLAINED IT TO THEM BUT NOONE COULD FIND ANY PROBLEM. I RECENTLY FOUND A WEBSITE LISTING PERSONS WITH SOME OF THE SAME PROBLEMS I'VE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS VEHICLE AND FIND IT AMAZING THAT WE HAVEN'T ALL BECOME A FATALITY BECAUSE OF THE MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. I HAVE A HOOD THAT WON'T STAY UP, A TRUNK THAT SOMETIMES OPENS BY ITSELF, THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GOES OFF AND THE HEATER COMES ON AT FULL SPEED, ACCELERATION WHEN CHANGING GEARS FROM PARKING TO DRIVE AND ON AND ON. I UNDERSTAND THAT PROBLEMS COME WITH USED CARS BUT SOME OF THESE ISSUSES WERE THERE WHEN THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW AND WAS RECALLED. I WILL BE GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME I WILL HAVE SOME OF THESE ISSUES IN WIRTING AND HOPEFULLY THEY CAN GIVE ME A BETTER ANSWER THAN. *AK "I FOUND NOTHING" (EXCEPT MY MONEY). BEFORE THIS CAR I DROVE A 1994 PLYMOUTH ACCLAIM WHICH I BOUGHT IN 1995. IT SERVED ME REALLY WELL FOR 8 YEARS WITH ME DRIVING BACK AND FORTH TO MY HOMETOWN IN MISSISSIPPI, SOMETIMES TWICE A YEAR. THE ADJUSTMENTS MADE ON IT WERE NORMAL FOR WEAR AND TEAR AFTER THAT LONG, AND IT DID MAKE SOME OF THE SAME NOISES AS THE CONCORDE, BUT I DON'T THINK I'LL BE BUYING ANOTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLE AFTER I TRADE THIS ONE. I PRAY THAT IT DOESN'T CATCH FIRE OR BLOW UP BEFORE I CAN.

WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH VEHICLE STALLED, THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CAMP SHAFT SENSOR. VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN WITHIN 330 MILES. THEN, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE WOULDN'T RESTART. IN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE COMPUTER/ FUEL PUMP, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. AFTER HAVING RECALL 98V130000 DONE FOR FUEL SEAL, THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED. VEHICLE WAS OCCUPIED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.*AK THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT, CONSUMER STARTED THE VEHICLE SMELLED OF GASOLINE. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROX. 15 MILES. FIRST THE HEADLIGHT LENSES CLOUDED OVER; HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEN THE INJECTOR SHOT FUEL ON THE ENGINE, CAR CAUGHT FIRE; $3600 IN DAMAGE. THEN THE REARVIEW MIRROR FELL OFF THRICE; BOUGHT A NEW ONE. THE CAR CONSTANTLY RUNS HOT SINCE LAST YEAR; REPLACED COOLING BLOCK; NOW IT ONLY RUNS HOT WHEN IDLING OR IN STOP-N-GO TRAFFIC; HAVE TO RUN THE HEATER TO KEEP IT FROM OVERHEATING; MECHANIC CANT FIND THE CAUSE; AC TEMP CHANGES FROM COOL TO TEPID WHEN CAR IDLES AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT; ONCE CAR BEGINS TO MOVE, AIR RETUNS TO COOL. THE OVERHEAD COMPUTER JUST QUIT, AS WELL AS THE ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT(ECU); ECU REPLACED. WHEN OUTSIDE TEMP DROPS AROUND FREEZING CAR HAS A BANGING NOISE UNDERNEATH, UNTIL IT WARMS UP. THE AXLE FINALLY BROKE AND THE FRAME RIPPED WHICH A FEEL IS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE PREVIOUS PROBLEMS. NO ACCIDENTS INVOLVED.
