On our 2018 Pacifica the head gasket is blown. This seems to be a very common issue with the 2018 model that Chrysler won't address. No one was harmed. The problem was confirmed by our independent mechanic. No it has not been inspected by anyone other than the independent mechanic. The check engine light came on after a rough start, coolant level started to go down, and white smoke from the exhaust. There are many complaints and many forums with Pacifica owners needing to foot the bill for these repairs. There is specifically something wrong with this engine from this time frame. Thank you

2018 Chrysler Pacifica, 3.6L V6, approx. 66,476 miles. The vehicle began losing coolant with no visible external leaks. When cold, opening the coolant reservoir cap releases a strong hiss of pressure and coolant flows back into the tank. The check engine light appeared, first showing a cylinder misfire (resolved after spark plug replacement), then later a slow EGR leak code. Over the next several weeks, the coolant level continued dropping and the reservoir remained pressurized even when cold. Vehicle was inspected by Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep (RO #490099, Sept 2025). Technician performed a combustion gas test and confirmed exhaust gases are present in the coolant system. No external leaks were found. Diagnosis: failed head gasket allowing combustion gases into the cooling system and coolant to burn in cylinders. The technician stated overheating or warpage may have opened a path at the head gasket but found no external signs of overheating. This condition poses a safety risk—coolant loss and trapped pressure can cause sudden overheating, engine stall, or hydrolock while driving, potentially leading to loss of power or a crash hazard. The issue was confirmed by a Chrysler dealer and documented in the repair order. The vehicle remains available for inspection. Prior to failure, symptoms included the check engine light, rough running, and repeated coolant loss. There were no visible leaks or overheating messages. Manufacturer was contacted but declined assistance; dealer verified diagnosis and estimate for repair (~$7,800).

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel locked up while attempting to make a left or right turn. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the steering column needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact there was no repair for the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.

I am experiencing the issue that was widely reported in the news on 9/8/2025. The steering starts to stick when the wheels are turned on gentle curved. This happens after about 1 hour of driving, and it most likely to happen between 45mph-65mph. Car has approximately 58,0000 miles on the odometer. This is a massive safety issue, a driver should not have to fight the steering wheel to maintain control of the car. Problem has not bee reproduced by mechanic or dealer. No warning lights come on during the event.

Steering sometimes catches momentarily at the 1 o'clock and 11 o'clock positions. Seems most common during turns at highway speeds. Been monitoring intermittent occurrences for about a year. On 11/26/2025, it occurred several times in close succession while making gradual turns going 35 to 40 mph.

At slow speeds while turning, the steering column shudders and vibrates. At higher speeds the steering seems to get tight and needs to be forced back in to the correct direction. This has been occurring for approximately 6 months. My car is out of warranty. It could become a dangerous situation.

After safety recall 73B was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on 11/24/25, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated. Code U0412 is identified as a 'stored' code upon pulling OBD information. This is described as "Invalid Data Received From Battery Energy Control Module 'A'" indicating failure of the high voltage battery pack and its control system. The HV battery is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others are at risk because the recall was issued to prevent a battery fire. The symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting are precisely the kinds of faults the recall's software update is supposed to detect. The check engine light, appeared within days of the recall service. This strongly indicates the recall procedure, specifically the mandatory battery integrity test, was not completed correctly, and/or that there is a failure in the underlying recall procedure itself. This is a widespread issue, with numerous owners reporting the same post-recall failures to their dealership, online, and to Chrysler Cares customer service without satisfactory resolution.

My van completely shut off, and all lights on the gear shifter stopped working. Yes, it is available for inspection until the gear shifter is replaced, as recommended by the dealership. The van lost power just as I lifted my foot off the brake to proceed into an intersection. This sudden shutdown created a traffic backup behind me and could have put me and others in danger had I entered the intersection. The issue has only occurred once for my husband while driving but has not been officially reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. Yes. I took the van to the dealer, who suggested replacing the battery and the shifter. I replaced the battery and ordered the shifter, but the second failure occurred after the new battery was installed. In addition, I’ve noticed a continuous clicking sound coming from the van after it is turned off, which does not stop for approximately 5 minutes. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. After the van shut down, the “start assist” light came on, and it did not turn off until about four days after the battery replacement.

The shifter nob will not turn on and move out of park. When I open the glove box and tap on the CAN-C Bus star connector the nob will then turn on. Other issues also with electrical throughout van dealing with the CAN-C such as driving and then it shifts very hard. And door not closing on the side.

Quirk Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Of Dorchester refused to perform Recall 73B/24V-536 on my restricted-title Pacifica (reconstructed), citing Chrysler policy. That policy doesn’t exist in the recall bulletin. I need the BPCM software update and any necessary battery replacement under the recall.

The battery of my hybrid electric minivan was damaged during a recent factory recall, and Chrysler is refusing to correct the problem. Instead, they’re trying to charge me for a new battery. Here’s the background. I recently received a recall notice (73B) for my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid minivan that warned of a possible vehicle fire. I was advised not to recharge the van and to park outside and away from structures. In January, I took the van to Russ Darrow Chrysler in the Milwaukee Auto Mall to address the issue. The check engine light came on shortly after the recall work was complete (trouble codes U0412 and P0BBE). I took the van back to the dealership as soon as possible. I was told there was a serious problem with the high-voltage battery and that it may need to be replaced. Chrysler refused to authorize the repair, so the dealership cleared the codes and released the van back to me. On [XXX], the van lost all power while my wife was merging onto a busy highway. She managed to pull over, and we had the van towed back to the dealership. The van has now been at the dealership for over 4 months. Chrysler is still refusing to fix the problem. I have since learned that there are many customers experiencing similar battery failure following the 73B recall. The Pacifica Forums (link below) details over 80 customers experiencing nearly identical battery failures after bringing their vehicles in for this recall. My safety and the safety of others are at risk. The symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting are precisely the kinds of faults the recall's software update is supposed to detect. By refusing to provide the full remedy, the manufacturer has left an unresolved fire hazard as well as the risk associated with the sudden loss of propulsion. Mid February 2025, while driving through a university campus 25 mph the vehicle died. All dash indicators went out, lost engine power, no warnings or indicators displayed on instrument panel. I held onto the steering wheel until stopped in the street without hitting college students or cars. Shifted to Park. Turned off and tried to start but the dash remained out and no engine start. Turned engine off again. Removed key fob. Got out of vehicle and waved traffic to go around. Got back in and started with success. Days later dash displayed hybrid charging maintenance required. Took vehicle to dealer and reported problems. I reported the issue on Chrysler web page. Dealer told me that the problem is a failed hybrid battery. Waiting for under warranty hybrid battery repairs.

I have had transmission problems with this van since I bought it. Had it in the shop several times. It jumps or pops and throws vehicle forward. I also have had to replace the large battery and the accessory battery multiple times. This has left me stranded many times bc it will shut off while driving. Last time was today 11/01/2023. Large battery and alternator was good. Accessory battery dead completely and replaced for free since it was in warranty still. But they say it has caused my van to misfire in cyclinder 3. Car has only been maintenance through Elliot Chrysler Dodge in Carthage Tx

Check engine light came on the day after the automatic start/stop light came on. Engine code read cylinder 4 misfire. We switched all the spark plugs and changed the cylinder 4. A couple days later check engine light came back on brought the vechile into Bergstrum. They put in a name brand cylinder 4 plug and spark plug, 2 weeks later the light came back on, same exact issue. They are now claiming it’s an engine issue potentially. Sounds like this is a BIG problem for 2018 Chrysler pacificas.

While driving on the freeway, the van suddenly started to ‘drag’ and alarm that the start/stop system was unavailable. I was barely able to pull off the freeway before the van completely stopped moving and would not start up again.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated the Auto STOP/START light and head gasket light remained illuminated. While starting the vehicle, the vehicle was vibrating abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed a leak in the head gasket. While inspecting the vehicle, the dealer became aware of a hole in the engine, and that the engine and head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case number. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.

On 4 separate occasions the vehicle while in motion will flash an alert that states “vehicle shutting down, stop safely” and the van will proceed to completely shut down- all electrical components do not work, including the sliding doors. After 30-45 minutes, the can will start back up without issue. Has been evaluated by a Chrysler dealership mechanic, as well as 2 private mechanics. They have been unable to replicate the issue. The main and auxillary batteries have been replaced twice each. Each incident we were able to pull over safely and there have not been any injuries or crashes, but we are concerned if it happens and we can’t pull over, we could easily crash.

Head gasket is blown with not that many miles, it's blowing fuses on a daily bases, start stop function won't work. Coolant leaks. Coils damaged, and lastly ac unit won't close properly and keeps making noise.

This letter concerns repeated and life-threatening failures involving the transmission system in my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (CA License Plate: 8CEF638, VIN: 2C4RC1N79JR172609), covered under your lifetime transmission warranty for this model. Following two confirmed incidents resulting in unexpected engine shutdowns and critical transmission faults, I am formally demanding a full replacement of the faulty transmission assembly as required under California lemon laws and the issued lifetime warranty extension. Summary of Incidents & Reference to NHTSA Action NHTSA Action Number: RQ24004 pertains specifically to transmission wiring defects, resulting in short circuits and loss of motive power. The recall remedy under Campaign Number 23V-010 has proven inadequate for many 2017–2023 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles. NHTSA’s current recall query documents continued transmission failures after owner reports and software updates. When beginning to move from a stop, the transmission occasionally does not engage for a few seconds and allows the vehicle to drift unexpectedly before it slips in gear and moves. Also, occasionally when shifting gears once moving, the transmission “pops” into gear, which feels as if I have been rear-ended. This has been happening for a few years and has been at the dealership 5 or so times with no resolution.

While attempting to accelerate experiencing a loss of power, an/or hard shifting. Pulling out from parking lot or street from a stop, there is a delay in getting the car to move. Moves slowly but then gradually builds up. Also at times there appears to be shifting issue, when attempting to accelerate the vehicle will do a hard jolt forward. In reviewing online this jolting is a common theme with the pacific but yet there has been no further action taken by Chrysler. Told my two different mechanics that Pacifica's are known to have issues with their transmissions and that I should not expect any type of recall for this due to the potential cost.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions, after the vehicle was stopped, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed with an abnormal clunking sound while the transmission shifted from 1st to 2nd gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that on one occasion while stopped at a red light, the transmission failed to shift into 2nd gear from the 1st gear. The vehicle was pushed over to the side of the road for approximately 20 minutes. The contact then pressed the PUSH to START button twice, held the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds, turned the vehicle off for two minutes, and then restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an Auto Parts store where a handheld diagnostic tool retrieved DTC: P0732. The contact stated that the code was cleared. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

Vehicle will start but the shifter will work. It threw a check engine light and check hybrid system code. You cannot get the vehicle out of gear and the shifter will not light up. After shutting the vehicle off and on 3 times it erased and acted like it never happened. This is the third time it has happened. What’s bad you can drive somewhere and be stuck there for hours not knowing if you need a tow or it’s going to reset again. Don’t know if something my happen while driving as well.

I keep getting a check engine light with my Pacifica hybrid. The scanner says P1B11, soft code is P0506, Hybrid battery or wiring harness. The codes erase after driving for a long while, however, I notice that I’m not able to maintain a full hybrid battery charge for longer than a few miles. After about 5 miles of driving, I’m a 80% of battery life left. MPG averages about 30+/- something’s not right. It’s happened twice now, both times with excessive outside temperatures. 1st time while idling, 2nd time while stopped for fueling.

Auto on/off was working for a few days (which is not normal). When in the drop off line for school it turned off for that. When I let go of the gas to go, the car shut off completely. I restarted it and it said "service shifter" and the shifter lights did not come on. I did move it to park by counting the clicks of the turns. Drove home from the school. Same day and other days following, the auto on/off is back to not working. Randomly when I start the car it says the "service shifter" message and does not light up the shifter letters. Sometimes if I turn it off and then back on it will not appear. Other times, it does and I have to just go. This is a safety hazard if it shuts off and will not turn back on. This started roughly 1.5/2 weeks ago - the week after Easter.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica T, Uconnect infotainment system shuts off and reboots every 2-3 minutes while driving. It is available for inspection upon request. When the Uconnect shuts down driver loses all features connected to the system to include: GPS/Navigation, blue tooth, in-cabin climate controls, and back up camera. This causes the driver to become distracted in order to re-synch phone, dvd player, navigation. Additionally, my wife almost backed over a 6 year old child because the back up camera shut off when backing up from a parking spot. There is an incredible risk of injury/death with this systems failure. The issue has not been reproduced by the manufacturer (FCA), dealer or independent service center. This issue is being addressed by class action lawsuit: Case 2:20-cv-11838-SFC-RSW ECF No. 1 filed 07/07/20 The vehicle was inspected by the state of Maryland. The vehicle is now at the dealership for diagnosis and I have to pay all expenses out-of-pocket. No warning indicators.

The vehicle jerks or hesitates to shift into gear when I get near 35 mph. It is forceful and loud. Somewhat like initial jerk pulling off from a roller coaster. My safety and the safety of my children have been at risk because slow moving vehicles are a hinderance to the flow of traffic. I have almost been rear-ended several times as the speed limit has increased in an area and I can't increase my speed as quickly as others behind me. Also, the delayed acceleration with the force of the jerk causes me to move forward too fast. This seems to be a transmission problem that all of the dealers in the area try to ignore. They claim they cannot reproduce the error but it happens each time I drive it. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, nor insurance representatives as I have not YET had an accident from this safety issue. There were no warning signs when the issue first appeared. I first noticed it the day after purchasing it from Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM, 6421 Old Westgate Rd, Raleigh, NC 27617. I reported the issue to them within days of noticing and brought the vehicle in several times for troubleshooting. I have since switched servicing over to Crossroads Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Henderson. They recognized that my batteries were both dying and replaced both of those. That never stopped the jerking/hesitating, it just made it less intense. I brought it into that dealership as well for this issue several times and they cannot reproduce the issue either. I have searched online for solutions and on a Pacifica forum online, many other owners note this issue with low mileage on their vehicle. This is indeed a manufacturer issue that it seems the manufacturer wants to cover up and dealers have no solution for it because of this.

The transmission KICKS into 2nd gear at times and it feels like I've been rear ended. Also sometimes when that happens the car will accelerate on it's own, I am surprised that I haven't hit anything or anybody when that happens. And other times it will cut out altogether and loses power. This is definitely a safety issue. I can't understand why Chrysler will not do anything about this issue. It can be very dangerous. This has been going on for the 4 years that I have had the van.

An engine fault code for P0303 has become active on my 2018 Pacifica. This code was confirmed by an independent service center and confirmed that the code is active. The service center ran a compression test and showed that cylinder three is low on compression. They then ran a hydrocarbon test and confirmed exhaust in the coolant. This diagnosis points to the common issue related to a bad head gasket potentially due to a warped head/block. The car has never overheated and all service maintained.

I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with 50k miles and it is still covered under the powertrain warranty. 1. I had a check engine light with code as "misfire on cylinder 6" in August of 2024. I had all spark plugs and engine coils replaced. 2. I drove the vehicle for one week before the engine light came back on with the same code, and then the vehicle wouldn't start. It was towed to a dealer. 3. A dealer replaced the starter assembly and valve body. 4. I drove the vehicle for 2 days before the engine light came back on with code as misfire to a different cylinder. 5. I am now being told by the dealer that I need to replace both cylinder heads, both cylinder head gaskets, timing cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets and the coil boots (again) because they were ruined the the failure/leaks in the other parts.

The check engine light recently came on, and there was an issue with starting and idling, so we replaced the battery and the light went off, but would randomly come back on. One day notice the vehicle as overheating, and found the coolant tank to be completely empty. Refilled the tank, and several days later the problem arose again. Checked under the van immediately after refilling, no leaks detected. Took van to the dealership and was told the head gasket was bad, and the coolant was leaking into cylinder 3. Recommended repairs noted are as follows: “HEAD GASKET IS BAD. LEAKING ON CYLINDER 3. NEEDS A NEW HEAD AND GASKET TO FIX ISSUE. WILL ALSO NEED CAMS, LIFTERS, AND ROCKERS DUE TO THE TICKING COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR” I’ve seen that apparently, this is a more than common issue specifically with the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Others have recommended a total engine replacement, as the damage caused thus far is significant enough that replacing only the head and gasket would be, as quoted, “a very expensive bandaid.” This is the only vehicle we have available for my wife and four small kids, and to see that it’s such a common and, thus far ignored problem is infuriating to say the least. Vehicle was purchased 2 years ago, and has depreciated $21,000 in that short amount of time. Repairs are estimated around $6000. Vehicle value is estimated around negative $12,000, so we’re stuck with a faulty vehicle regardless. With the overwhelming number of complaints regarding this issue, almost verbatim, there is absolutely no reason Chrysler should continue to be allowed to let this go unresolved. The fact that the vehicle depreciated so rapidly in such a short time span should be a testament in and of itself to the known and perceived quality of these vehicles, and if ever I can be rid of it, it’ll be that last Chrysler product I ever own.

I have been experiencing a brake surge when I come to a stop, it has been a few weeks now (or maybe months). It feels like the regenerative braking is disengaging and the friction brakes are not engaging immediately. I am concerned this is a brake handoff issue and a major safety problem.

The van continues to accelerate when I'm braking. This has happened 4 times after an hour or two of driving the freeway. As we were exiting the car continued to Rev up as we applied the brakes. Thank God the light was green. Another time I tried to park and as I was braking the car was accelerating. I had to quickly put it in park position. The van is in the shop, Hunter Dodge, now and they ran a diagnostic test and failed to find a problem.

I have recognized at least 6 times within the first ten minutes after propulsion on, when I apply the brakes on dry pavement, with even brake pedal pressure, the brakes do not grab properly and the car continues to glide forward for a few moments, Then I put the car in park (often at a traffic light) to try to clear or reset the problem.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while parking, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The vehicle lunged forward and struck an unoccupied Honda Pilot. The vehicle lost power but restarted after several attempts. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, police report or fire. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 67,084.

While slowing to a stop at a traffic light, the engine stalled unexpectedly. The start/stop system did not restart the engine when I released the brake pedal. Accessories (radio, lights, etc.) remained powered, but I could not shift the vehicle into neutral. After approximately 20 minutes, I was able to restart the engine; however, the transmission remained unresponsive and the engine could not be shut off using the ignition button. I was unable to shift to neutral or turn the steering wheel. Message on dash indicated shifter module required service, and indicated that the vehicle was not in park when attempting to turn off vehicle. The vehicle was only turned off by disconnecting the 12-volt battery. The vehicle was towed to a Chrysler dealership and diagnostics completed, showing error codes with the shift module. They were unable to recreate the problem and advised replacing the shift module. When inquiring about recall V53, the dealership service department indicated that this recall had been repaired on the vehicle in 2020. These symptoms match those described in Chrysler Recall V53 (NHTSA Campaign 19V-348) for 2017–2019 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles equipped with start/stop systems, which involves a loose battery ground connection. My VIN is not currently listed in the recall as it was reportedly corrected in 2020, but the issue created a hazardous situation by stalling in traffic, disabling shifting, and preventing engine shutdown. This could have resulted in a crash if traffic conditions were different. Please investigate whether additional 2018 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles not currently included in Recall V53 should be covered or if this is a recurring safety issue with the engine start-stop (ESS) on 2017-2019 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles.

The hybrid battery coolant heater (part 68443445AC) was confirmed a problem, however the dealership wont review ANY recalls on my vehicle until I pay $1700 to replace that part. However, there are MULTIPLE incidents online showing this is a problem with this vehicle and should be a recall as this is obviously defective within the first 150000 miles. My car has roughly 124K miles, making it just outside the warranty coverage. Shortly before this lamp warning (check engine) came on my steering wheel started "sticking" making it hard to steer in a curve, causing me to veer off the road. Within 7 days of this happening, is when my check engine light appeared, throwing code POE15. The heat now also takes much longer to warm up- like 30 minutes longer. The dealership said none of the issues are connected, however after online research I have determined that is not true.

The car battery system has failed over 5x when driving. All of a sudden the car battery lights start coming on & stearing shuts down and car stops. The last time it completely shut down. No power to even run hazard lights. No power to lock the car or rollup the windows. It has been 2 weeks and dealership mechanic can not figure out what is wrong.

On Thursday, July 3, we were on our way out of town and had just gotten on a highway when I smelled something burning, saw smoke (we thought was steam at the time) coming from the hood and heard the engine making a grinding, or rattling noise so we pulled over immediately. My husband got out of the car to start to take a look when another vehicle who had just passed us backed up and motioned frantically saying “Your car is on fire!” So we got out and looked under the front of the car and sure enough, there was liquid spilling onto the ground and fire coming from underneath. So we quickly got away from the car and called 911. Another gentleman who had been going West also stopped to make sure everyone was okay and was also calling 911. Within 10-14 minutes the front of the car was totally engulfed in flames.

The #5 cylinder keeps having a misfire sometimes causing failure of the vehicle to get up and move when needed in an emergency Situation this being a family van make even putting children in danger at times. After inspection by myself a Mechanic that even taught College Automotive repair, I have also taught Jet engine repair I find this concerning. Is what is happening is the head gasket is leaking coolant into the #5 Cylinder and we all know water will not admit a spark. Rust can be seen on the Valves and top of Piston cylinder upon inspection. This is a well know issue across the United States and Chrysler Dealers and manufacturers, their mechanics, parts and service departments also know this. This is poor workmanship inferior parts. But the most concerning is not being able to get a response out of the vehicle to get out of the way in an emergency situation and that the owners of Chrysler Corporation do not care. With the cost the consumers paid for these Vehicles it should not have to fall on them due to the inferior parts and workmanship of the manufacturing Company. The Average Consumer cannot afford to fix this issue, and some are still paying for their Pacifica's Immediate action should be taken with this problem as many Babies, Children and adult lives are being put at risk. I would recommend to stop driving these vehicles immediately until the problem is resolved. Accident waiting to happen possibly causing bodily harm.

We began having major issues with our van in October 2022. There were numerous incidents of loss of power and sudden increase in temperature gage. We kept fluids checked. Kept oil changed on time. We reported this to the dealership multiple times before they agreed to fix under warranty. Even after fixing factory recall (which we were charged for by the dealership) and then replacing batteries, we continued having issues with loss of power and surge in temperature gage. July 8th of 2023 engine light came on and temperature gage shot up, van stalled at the intersection. I had My self and FIVE kids in the car. This was accompanied by a sudden loss of fluids. We had the van taken to another repair shop who then told us the head gasket was blown. This happened just 4 miles after our warranty lapsed. We had to have the entire motor replaced out of pocket. More than $8,000 in repair costs so far and the van I still making noises and not driving correctly.

Our engine has stalled while driving the vehicle at least four times since July 1. The engine begins to shudder, and the car will not accelerate, and then the engine completely dies. After it happened today, it was not possible to restart the engine or put it in gear. My and my family's safety was put at risk because the vehicle was inoperable. Three times this happened on major interstates with traffic moving at high speeds. I had to move my children and their car seats into another vehicle while traffic passed. We have had the vehicle in for service at least three times, at least twice at Chrysler dealers. The problem has not been reproduced (yet) but this latest time it completely disabled the vehicle so expect they will see more of the problem now. After the engine cuts out, we get an electrical warning light that flashes briefly, plus a check engine light, and a message that instructs to move the gear shift to P to start the vehicle and another that warns that the Start/Stop system needs service. We have had these all serviced, the fuel pump and battery replaced, and have been told the problem is resolved and yet it keeps happening.

I had my Chrsyler Pacifica since Nov 2018 . Recently I heard a noise and Dealer suggested change in Transmission . Ever since I have problem with Car stopping im middle of road , towed 5 times to dealer and dealer says he fixed it but still same problem with vehicle stalling happen. yesterday (05/20), delaer informed that vehicle stalled in road while they did test drive after they fixed the problem. I am scared to drive this car anymore. Dealser did not want to loan their car as well anymore , I am without car for more than 30 days during this all 5 incidents .

The vehicle has stalled several times while driving and while at a stop light leaving the van completely disabled and it will not turn on or start again. My wife and 2 year old were put at risk when the vehicle stalled on them at a major intersection and my wife was unable to put the vehicle into parking or drive since there was no power after it stalled and dashboard lights flicked on and off multiple times.. Stall has also happened at drive thru almost causing collision with vehicle in front. The stall produces dashboard error messages reporting an internal transmission malfunction, auto start/stop error, and or a problem charging the battery. Certified ASE mechanics can’t reproduce the issue or find anything to pin point the issue after multiple diagnostic tests ran and physical thorough inspection. Every time a stall happens loads of error codes (85+) pull up but none point to the root cause of stalling happening. Vehicle has most up to date software update done over a year ago.

Purchased vehicle used and have put on miles. But since day 1 issues have been arising. First the Auto stop/start function stopped, 2 years later still unable to find the fix. More recent the gear shift just doesn’t work/turn on randomly or turns off while driving which is a safety concern. Now for the past 2 months the gear shift will not work or while driving the vehicle just loses acceleration and braking and slows to a stall and I can’t do anything until the gear shift turns back. I had 3 children on [XXX] when this started putting all our lives in danger. We were stuck for 2 hours the vehicle ran but was not drivable. Every mechanic says something different and it is a luck of the draw if the vehicle will work when you try it. Batteries all tested good. No obvious other issues other than loss of power steering for a short time. All warning lights flashing on and off randomly but it coincides with the loss of driving capabilities. My Vehicle suddenly stops while the car is in motion, it shuts completely off. I had an instance where my car shut off coming off the freeway off-ramp. This has happened on numerous occasions and we have been trying to call the dealership to see if there is any recall. We are never given a straight answer and we feel unsafe to drive our vehicle

When I pushed the button on the handle to close the back sliding door, my 2 year old suddenly stuck his hand in front of where the door was shutting and the door did not stop. Thankfully I was able to push the button back open almost immediately but his hand bruised immediately. We applied ice and the swelling went down but it could have been much worse hadn't I opened the door back up right away. There should be a sensor that stops the door if something is in its way.

DRIVER SIDE DOOR CONSTANTLY OPENS. I HIT THE BUTTON TO CLOSE AND IT OPENS RIGHT BACK UP. MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT IS RIGHT THERE, SO WHEN I GO TO PUT HER IN HER CAR SEAT SAY WHILE IT'S RAINING OR SNOWING AND I HIT IT TO CLOSE TO WALK AWAY, BAM IT'S RIGHT BACK OPEN. IT NEVER STAYS SHUT. IT TAKES ME 5 TIMES TO FINALLY SHUT MY DOOR. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. ANYTIME THE VAN IS RUNNING OR OFF IT DOES THIS.

WE HAVE A 2018 PACIFICA, AND THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVER-SIDE SLIDING DOOR ALL OF SUDDEN SHATTERED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON FREEWAY. WE HAVE A DASHBOARD CAMERA THAT RECORDS WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. WE COULD NOT SEE ANY OBJECTS FLYING TOWARDS THE CAR OR THE SOUND OF ANY OBJECT HITTING THE WINDOW WHEN WE CHECKED THE RECORDING. BUT WE CAN HEAR THE RECORDING OF THE GLASS FRACTURING SOUND OF THE WINDOW WITHOUT ANY IMPACT SOUND. I AM PUZZLED ABOUT THIS GLASS WINDOW SHATTERING, AND WHY THESE WINDOWS ARE NOT SHATTERPROOF (LIKE A SAFETY FILM)! MY KIDS WERE SEATING IN THEIR CAR SEATS NEXT TO THIS WINDOW, BUT LUCKILY THE SUN SHADE PROTECTED THEM FROM GETTING SPRAYED BY THE SHATTERED GLASS WHILE WE WERE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. THE WIND WAS BLOWING IN FAST AFTER THIS WINDOW BROKE. SINCE WE COULD NOT SEE OR HEAR ANY IMPACT OF ANYTHING IN THE VIDEO, I AM WONDERING IF THIS WINDOW SHATTERED BY ITSELF !? I HOPE CHRYSLER HAS THE PROPER GLASS SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATION FOR THESE WINDOWS. GLASS SHATTERING CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS TO VEHICLE'S OCCUPANTS!

MY VAN ON MULTIPLE OCCASSION HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF CITY INTERSECTIONS. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WILL HAVE AN ELECTRICAL MELTDOWN. ALL DIFFERENT WARNING MESSAGES WILL APPEAR ON DASH, WARNING DINGS WILL GO OFF, MY WIPERS WILL GO ON WITHOUT ME TURNING THEM ON, WHEN I PUSH THE GAS IT WILL NOT DRIVE. ON ONE OCCASION THE CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT PRESSING THE GAS OR IF THE GAS WAS PRESSED IT WOULD ACCELERATE MORE THAN THE PEDAL WAS BEING PRESSED. ALL MY BUTTONS ON MY DASH INCLUDING A/C, AUTO START, BACK UP CAMERA/SENSORS WILL NOT RESPOND. ITS AS THOUGH MY CAR JUST DIES. THIS OCCURRENCE HAS NO COMMON SCENARIO THAT BRINGS ON THE MALFUNCTION. I 'VE HAD TIMES WHEN IT MALFUNCTIONED WEEKS APART AND THIS LAST OCCURRENCE IT WAS A YEAR IN BETWEEN OCCURRENCES. I WAS TOLD ON A CHRYSLER FORUM TO CHECK MY PCM. MY BATTERIES HAVE BEEN TESTED AND PASSED. I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE MY AUX BATTERY INSTALLED AS I DO NOT WANT/LIKE MY AUTOSTART FEATURE. THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED ALL 5 TIMES WITH MY AUX BATTERY INSTALLED. MY DEALERSHIP SAID "TOO MANY ELECTRICAL PARTS TO CHECK" AND "WE CANT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM/GET ERROR CODE TO DIAGNOSE SO TAKE THE VAN BACK TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND CALL US WHILE ITS HAPPENING AND DRIVE IT IN". FIRST ITS UNSAFE AND UNPREDICTABLE. I HAVE TRIED GETTING THIS FIXED AND THEY CAN'T EVEN/WONT FIX IT OR BUY IT BACK. NO LEMON LAW AS I AM SECOND OWNER, NOT PURCHASED NEW AND THE PROBLEMS STARTED HAPPENING AT 34000 MILES RIGHT BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND CHRYSLER WON'T FIX IT/DON'T KNOW HOW. NO REMEDY AFTER 2 YEARS AND 6/7 SHOP VISITS. I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH FCA TWICE AND THEY THREATENED ME TO PICK UP VEHICLE OR THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR THE RENTAL I HAD. OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS. CAR WILL STALL OUT WHILE IT'S IN DRIVE, BUT BRAKING. YESTERDAY IT DID IT AS I WAS TURNING LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. IT STALLED AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE FLASHING 'FCW/ LANESENSE UNAVAILABLE RESTART REQUIRED.' I THEN WILL HAVE TO SHIFT TO PARK AND RESTART THE CAR. WHEN MY 2018 PACIFICA IS STARTED IN THE MORNING I RECEIVE A FCW (FRONT CRASH WARNING) AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF MILE AND STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT NEAR MY HOUSE. I HAVE THE GAS SAVER ON AND MY VAN WILL USUALLY SHUT OFF. WHEN I STOP AT THE LIGHT, THE CONSOLE WILL FLASH FCW WHEN NO OBJECTS ARE IN FRONT OR NEAR ME AS WELL AS TWO OTHER CENSORS FLASHING. THE VAN COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AND THEN FLASHES "START STOP REQUIRED". I THEN HAVE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TURN IT OFF, RESTART IT, THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE ALL WHILE IN AT AN INTERSECTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 12 TIMES AND CREATES A RISK OF BEING REAR-ENDED. SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VAN IN AUGUST 2018, WE HAVE HAD: THE UCONNECT CENTER REPLACED ON SEPTEMBER 7 2018, THE RADIO IMPROPERLY ACTIVATED OR TURNED OFF INCORRECTLY COMPLETELY DRAINING THE BATTERY REQUIRING TOW AND SERVICE ON APRIL 12 2019, AND THE FCW WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED ON MAY 21 2019. ALTHOUGH IT WAS "FIXED" THE FCW ALERT HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES SINCE IT WAS RETURNED LESS THAN 3 WEEKS PRIOR.

There is a loud creaking noise coming from the front end, most likely suspension. It seems worse when the car is turning and even more so when backing up and turning steering wheel. I am aware of the V15 recall for the Pacific and from what I have read the symptoms are nearly identical. Along with this there are at times more of a clicking sound.

There is a prominent loud creak/squeak noise when locking the steering wheel all the way to the right, and slowly backing up. It is replicated every time. There is a V15 lower control arm recall on prior years, but this VIN was not covered. I am very concern it may be of similar issue, and makes me worried for the safety of my children.

The left ball joint (front lower control arm) became squeakier and squeakier until the mechanic said it should be replaced or risk it failing while I drive which could leave me unable to steer/control the car. The mechanic said the dealer ought to cover it since they recalled some of this model year for this same issue on the right side but not all of them. The dealer would not cover replacement.

At first this happened when the vehicle was backing up with the steering wheel turned and locked to the left. It's now extended to while braking. I know prior models were recalled for bad lower control arm ball joints. My vehicle didn’t fall in that window, but this vehicle should be included in that recall (v15 recall)

This happens every time when I put the vehicle in reverse and turn and lock my steering wheel all the way to the right and press the accelerator to back up. It doesn’t sound safe. I know prior models were recalled for bad lower control arm ball joints. My vehicle didn’t fall in that window, but this vehicle should be included in that recall (v15 recall).

WE HAVE RENTED A CHRYSLER CAR FOR 1 DAY FROM BUDGET RENTALS TO TAKE US FROM RALEIGH, NC TO DULLES AIRPORT, VA. WE DROVE THE CAR TO DC. WE DID SETUP THE CRUISE CONTROL ON 76 SPEED IN 70 MPH ZONE. THE POLICE STOPPED US ON THE I-95 IN VA AND GAVE US A SPEEDING TICKET, ACCORDING TO HIM, WE ARE DRIVING IN 86 MPH. WE DID NOT REALIZE THE SPEED BECAUSE NOT TOO MANY CARS AROUND, DRIVING AROUND 3AM. WE WERE SO SURPRISED ABOUT THAT TICKET AND HOW COULD THIS EVEN HAPPEN. WE THOUGHT THAT WE WERE MISTAKENLY READING THE ODOMETER READINGS. WE RECEIVED THE TICKET WITH RECKLESS DRIVING OF 86/70 MPH. WE TOOK DEEP BREATH AND STARTED DRIVING AGAIN. WE SAID OK LET'S SETUP THE CRUISE CONTROL THIS TIME TO 75 AND WATCH IT CAREFULLY. WITHIN LESS THAN 20 SECONDS FROM SETTING UP THE CRUISE CONTROL, ANOTHER POLICE STOPPED US WITH SPEED OF 85/70 MPH, RECKLESS DRIVING. WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. THE TWO TICKETS WERE ABOUT 5 MILES APART ON THE I-95, VA. WE DECIDED THIS TIME NOT TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL AND FOLLOW THE CARS FLOW AROUND US. WE DID THAT FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP, DRIVING WITHOUT THE CRUISE CONTROL. ALL OF THE PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WERE NOTHING IN COMPARISON TO THE FOLLOWING. AS WE DRIVING IN VA, AROUND 7AM WHERE MANY CARS ON THE I-95 TO FOLLOW THEIR PATTERN. WE SAID LET'S JUST SETUP THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR FEW SECONDS AND COMPARE IT TO THE CARS BESIDE US. WE SETUP THE CRUISE ON 75, WE NOTICED A SIGNIFICANT SPEED INCREASE. I PUSHED THE BRAKES, IT DID NOT STOP THIS TIME. THE CAR WAS DRIVING IN HIGHER SPEED. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ACT AS FAST AS I COULD, I PUSHED THE BRAKES AND SWITCHED THE STICK FROM D TO N. I TRIED TO DISABLE THE CRUISE CONTROL THIS TIME, IT DID NOT WORK. TWO INCIDENTS WHICH HAPPENED WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. I HAVE HAD THE CAR LESS THAN 9 MONTHS. MOST RECENT WAS APRIL 3RD, 2019. I WAS WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN I WENT TO LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO DRIVE WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE CAR STALLED. AN ALERT CAME UP ON THE SCREEN TO TELL ME THE THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN TO GET IT TO DRIVE. I HAD TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR BOTH TIMES IT HAS HAPPEN. IT'S MY ONLY CAR. IT SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS. WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE AUTO STOP ENGAGED. WHEN TAKING THE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO DISENGAGE AUTO STOP, THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. HAZARD LIGHTS WERE ENABLED; HOWEVER, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY SHUT DOWN, INCLUDING THE HAZARD LIGHTS. THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS FOR THE PREVIOUS 20 MINUTES WITHOUT ANY INDICATION OF THE IMPENDING FAILURE. While driving at a steady 65 mph, I suddenly lost power steering, which severely reduced my ability to steer the vehicle. I was able to safely brake and pull over. After turning the car off for a few minutes, steering function returned to normal. A few hours later, during a second drive at approximately 35 mph, I experienced the same issue again while turning onto my street. The steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn and required significant effort with both hands to maneuver the vehicle into the driveway. This sudden loss of steering control posed a serious safety risk-not only to myself, but also to other drivers on the road-and could have easily resulted in an accident. No warning lights or dashboard alerts were displayed at any point. The vehicle was towed from my home to the dealership. Upon inspection, the issue was reproduced, and it was confirmed that the power steering system had failed and required repair, along with related components. All necessary repairs were completed and paid for out of pocket.

Component/system failed: Electric Power Steering (EPS). The system intermittently fails during normal driving, showing a "Service Power Steering" warning. Diagnostic codes include U113E (lost comm w/ EPS), C2217 (SAS not calibrated), C2210 (EPS internal fault), P058C (low voltage), and P1009 (hybrid module MIL request). The issue began immediately after a Chrysler recall service where the main charging unit was replaced. Vehicle is available for inspection. Safety risk: Loss of steering assist creates a serious hazard, especially during turns or at low speeds. The steering becomes extremely heavy without warning, increasing the risk of collision or inability to maneuver safely in traffic or parking situations. Dealer confirmation: Yes. A Chrysler dealer confirmed the EPS fault and quoted $5,500 to replace the entire steering rack. No electrical diagnostics were completed, despite the issue starting after recent electrical recall work. Inspections by others: The dealer has inspected the vehicle. Chrysler corporate has been contacted but has not yet resolved the issue. No inspections by police or insurance. Warning signs: The issue started right after the dealership performed recall work. “Service Power Steering” message appears, and diagnostic trouble codes are present. The error is intermittent and can clear after restarting, only to return later.

The informational screen when turned on get super super hot and has slightly warped the dashboard. I believe There is a connection between Having the informational screen on while driving and the steering wheel sticking. It sticks less when the informational screen is turned off. I worry that if I’m driving with the radio on it will catch the car on fire

WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR, MY POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT. IT SAID, "POWER STEERING UNAVAILABLE" ON THE DASHBOARD. THANK GOD THERE WAS NOT A CAR WAITING TO TURN ON THE ROAD I TURNED ONTO BECAUSE I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THEM. IT TOOK ALL MY MIGHT TO TURN THE CAR ONTO THE NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. ALSO SOMETIMES THE SLIDING DOORS TO THE VAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN THEY WANT TO OPEN.

Soon after having recall 73B completed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Plug in Hybrid the check engine illuminated with DTC P0BBE. The vehicle no longer accepts a charge through the charge port and is now indicating there is an error with the high voltage battery. This issue has happened within 147 miles of driving. I can no longer use the vehicle as it is now in limp mode.

User bought 2018 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV in 2019. User had no issues with the vehicle, all recalls completed, until the completion of NHTSA Recall 22V-077 (Chrysler recall 73B). Recall 73B was completed on 13 Feb 2025 with approx. 103,000 miles on the vehicle. The recall included flashing the HV Battery Pack Control Module and a "soak" of the HV Battery to determine battery health; servicing dealer reported recall successful and battery health test found battery health was good. Approximately 1 week following the recall, the check engine light came on and stayed on for a couple of days and "self cleared". Several weeks later, the same sequence of events as above occurred once again. On 9 April, following a full charge overnight, I started the vehicle and the gas motor immediately started, check engine light illuminated, "turtle mode" icon appeared, and I was notified that "Vehicle Speed May Be Limited". After completing the short trip in "limp mode", I restarted the vehicle and only the check engine light was visible, van ran as normal. The following morning, no issues at all. Took the van to be diagnosed and was told an actuator in the dash needed replaced; actuator replaced. Five days later, once again, started the vehicle and the gas motor immediately started, check engine light illuminated, "turtle mode" icon appeared, and I was notified that "Vehicle Speed May Be Limited". Took the van to the dealership, at 106,163 miles, for diagnosis and have been told that the HV Battery is now dead and must be replaced. Dealership quotes $16,000.00 to replace HV battery and Stellantis (Chrysler parent company) would not deal with me as the battery warranty expired at 100,000 miles. Many other complaints like this following the 73B recall reported to NTHSA, this does not seem to be a coincidence. I had ZERO issues with this van until this recall was completed.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -- The car charging port caught fire AFTER the recall notice and after they stated the repairs had been made. The charging port and car charger fused together after the fire and both are not working now. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -- The fire could have caused major damage, but it was parked outside so nobody was hurt. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -- No. The dealer is trying to avoid responsibility and claims the problem was with my home charger instead of their vehicle, but the home charger I use has been used in multiple other vehicles without issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -- Yes. I took it in to Chrysler - they did not look at my charger and are claiming its not their problem. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -- Yes. Ever since the first recall notice for the charging port, after i took the car in, the "check Engine" light has been lit and won't turn off.

Had vehicle towed to Orange Coast Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram 11/4/24 due to vehicle being unable to start. Error message in vehicle indicated "Service Hybrid System"" and "Service Charging System" Vehicle was left at dealership pending inspection. 12/5/24 I contacted dealer asking for update and was told Chrysler STAR case was opened for vehicle for hybrid battery. No further information was provided. 1/5/25 I contacted dealer again for update. Was told Chrysler engineer had attempted diagnosis/ repair of vehicle including application of current recall 73B (NHTSA Recall ID 22V-077) but was unsuccessful. Was told another Chrysler engineer must be brought in to assess/ repair vehicle.

Piston Number 3 is misfiring which is the from an error code. Replaced the piston 3 twice and now coolant is leaking into the engine which cause the coolant to leak into the engine. This is a safety risk since the car does not give a warning until there is no more coolant in the car which can cause a fire while driving. The issue was shown twice and confirmed by 2 independent mechanics and the dealership. The vehicle has been inspected and checked out by 2 independent mechanics and the dealership. It first appeared Feb 16 2024 when the check engine light came on and the next Monday the car lost coolant. The car also shook violently when it was started.

My vehicle lost the ability to accelerate when driving on a busy two-lane street. I was able to coast to the side of the road, but the vehicle would not move forward or backward even though the engine was running. This was the fifth time this condition has occurred, and I had the 03A Loss of Motive Power recall service performed during Summer 2023. The vehicle had to be towed - luckily nobody was directly behind us so an accident did not occur. The vehicle is currently being evaluated by the dealership for further repair. The check engine light is illuminated, but no other warning lights are illuminated at this time.

Cylinder head inside the engine has a Crack with antifreeze leaking into the engine. I had been driving the car prior to being able to make an appointment at the dealership. Luckily there was not a crash due to this.

2018 Pacifica Wheelchair Accessible Van has on several occasions without warning, decelerated and stalled. Displays Place into Park and restart. Van starts sputtering & decelerates. After pulling over, waiting a few minutes it does start again. We've had the van over a year without any issues until now. We did have it at a dealership for a week. They were unable to find anything wrong with it. Very frustrating as we use this van to transport our disabled daughter. Recently we received notice of Class Action Lawsuit for this problem. Doesn't help me right now.

WE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR, SAME FUNCTIONAL ISSUE. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING MORNING, INFORMING THEM THEY SAID GET IN IN RIGHT AWAY, WE TOOK TO LOCAL CHRYSLER ON MAY 6TH AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE US EITHER. HAPPENS AGAIN IMMEDIATELY THE DAY AFTER BEING THERE, AGAIN WE TOOK IT IN, THEY WANTED IT TO CONTINUE WHEN WE PULLED IN WE WERE TOLD, I SAID IT KEEPS TAKING US OFF THE ROAD. We had the seat fail on one of our middle row seats. It lines up with a dealer service, and we believe the dealer probably broke it while performing other work, but we don't have before/after videos or anything like that to prove it. The issue is that there is a plastic piece that breaks, which means that the seatback no longer locks. Rear seat anchor broke out of floor board when a child sat in the seat. This is a major anchor point for the seat system. If there had been any sort of accident, the seat and occupant could have easily broken free from the vehicle. I took the vehicle to my local dealer, who took pictures and sent information to their area manager. The recommended repair was to take it to body shop and that they wouldn’t be responsible for the repairs. This is clearly a manufacturing defect that the weld on the anchor did not penetrate into the floor board. I can be contacted for more information and inspection.

This vehicle comes equipped with Stow N Go middle seats. It is a useful feature for sure. However, upon placing one of the seats back into its locked position, the headrest would no longer stay locked in its upright position. Upon taking the headrest apart to try to fix the issue, I found a very cheap plastic mechanism inside that had snapped. This very flimsy plastic piece is very much liable to fail in an accident, and cause the headrest to flop forward and not provide the support required.

Van was working fine one day and the next, before I even started it, when I pressed the brake pedal to start the van, there was a buzzing noise from the braking system and pedal went almost to the floor. Once I started the vehicle, the noise stopped and the pedal travel returned to normal. However at the same time, the warning light / message for several of the systems came up (ABS, traction control, collision detection, parking sensors, etc) along with several messages (ParkSense Unavailable, FCW Unavailable Service Required, Service Antilock Brake System, Service Electronic Stability System). Using an OBDII code reader displayed several "communication errors" (start with the letter "U"). I researched it on the Internet and it would appear that this is caused by a common failure of the "star connector" ("bus module" to connect various components in the van). I ordered a replacement part (which I haven't received yet) but not completely surprisingly, about 1 week after the issue occurred, today my vehicle was running properly with no more errors. I'm hoping NHTSA forces FCA to fix this issue under a recall. I've read of several other owners suffering the same issue and IMO, this is a security risk as ABS and traction contol (along with other systems) are disabled when this happens. In included pictures of the dash when it happened (note all the warning lights) and of the dash when if fixed itself (no warning light although MIL is still on (I haven't cleared it))

IT IS SET TO THE FARTHEST DISTANCE SETTING AND NOT WORKING. I HAVE HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES WHEN TESTING IT, SO KNOW THAT IT IS NOT WORKING. My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica has confirmed internal engine damage—scoring in the cylinder wall—diagnosed by an authorized Chrysler dealer. This occurred with no abuse or neglect, and the failure is consistent with many documented reports involving the 3.6L Pentastar engine. Chrysler is aware of premature failures in this engine across various models, but has denied goodwill assistance in my case despite providing it in others. I have involved the Washington State Attorney General’s office (File #[XXX]), and I believe this should be part of a broader investigation into systemic engine defects that pose safety and financial risks to consumers. Our vehicle is always kept in a garage and rarely parked outside for extended periods of time (not a vehicle used for transportation to and from work on a daily basis). We had our check engine light come on. This resulted in us using our second vehicle for several days before determining days later that the check engine light was still on. We took it in and they said the stored code was for a small evap leak and said it was likely due to cold temperatures and ice build up around the edge of the vent that blocked the flap from opening. As mentioned, this vehicle was in a garage for several days leading up to the check engine light appearing and for several days after the initial appearance. When I asked the dealership doing the repair what we could do to prevent this from happening again they suggested we avoid having the vehicle parked outside in the cold. This seems to be an issue that should be handled by Chrysler as opposed to me as the consumer and causing me to pay $217.31!

In March of this year (2024), while driving down the road at 45 mph, my Pacifica's dashboard suddenly lit up and flashed all kinds of warnings including ABS off, the check engine light, the parking brake, the service electronic throttle control, electronic stability control off, collision off, warning parking brake, and other lights that I'm not sure what they mean. It seemed like every warning light in the panel lit up. The van slowed down and wouldn't let me accelerate and it felt like the power steering wasn't active. I pulled into a parking lot and shut the engine off. After restarting, the check engine light was lit, but the van let me proceed. I took it to my auto shop that said the codes were all electronic/ software related and I had to take it to a dealership. The dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong and that the codes didn't save. On June 9, the lights started flashing again while I was parked in a parking lot while I was on a road trip. I was able to capture the end of it on my camera. I again turned the engine off and on again, and the van "reset" with only the check engine light on. I was able to proceed through the rest of the weekend and the check engine light actually turned off after a day. Then on June 22, the warning lights started flashing again. My son was driving this time (along with my husband and 2 other sons). He pulled into a parking lot to return the van home, but it wouldn't go into a gear. Slowly, they toggled through the gears until it would allow them to drive the van home. He also said that it felt like he lost power steering. Losing steering, the ability to accelerate, the ability to put the vehicle in gear while driving, and losing the ABS system and the electronic stability system definitely puts my family and others at risk of an accident. I am prepared to take it to my dealer if asked. It has not been inspected by anyone else accept a local car shop and the dealership.

While driving the van suddenly stops and the engine cuts out-this has been accompanied by multiple dashboard warning lights going on and off. The steering wheel also locks up when this happens. The van shows that it is still in run mode but will not move until it is turned off completely and then restarted. This has occurred while in traffic driving at normal speeds as well as when turning. In these instances I had my kids in the vehicle with me. Following one incident the vehicle would not restart for about 2-3 minutes. When attempting to start the dashboard lights and interior lights would flash on and off and then stop. I have taken it to an independent repair shop that was unable to correct any issues due to proprietary Chrysler programming. My local Chrysler dealership told me that they could not replicate the issue. I have also had issues with the side and rear power doors opening part way and then closing and vice versa. This incidents have occurred while the vehicle was running but not in motion. The local dealership did diagnose an electrical issues with the rear folding seats that was caused from a programming bug that they indicate was fixed. All of these issues have occurred multiple times and every time I am told that it could not be replicated so there was nothing to be done. Currently the van is not operational as it will not start, when attempting to start ALL the lights (internal and external) flash on and off, the vehicle indicates that it is in run mode but the engine is not on. I did have the battery tested, it’s fine. Multiple online searches revel that I am not the only consumer with this issue.

Purchased the car used in 2018. Worked fine. Always kept up with my oil changes. Car now over 72000 miles. Suddenly, noticed car would jerk while im driving. Was told engi e misfire. Had it fixed so i thought. After a while, happening again. Also, without any warning, suddenly coolant disappears somewhere in the car. Not coming out at all. And without warning, car overheats. Constantly filling with coolant. Engine light suddenly comes on. Blinking on and off. Now im in engine failure. Not in warranty. Checked several forums, tons of people with the SAME issue. Bad engine from Chrysler. My Supreme warranty is expired, i am single mother of three and cannot fix. Still financing this vehicle. Can anybody help me? I dont have thousands of dollars to fix this.

We were traveling at approximately 45 miles per hour, slowed down around a bend in the road and hit an ice patch. The vehicle spun towards a truck stopped at a stop sign. We hit the driver's side of the truck with the driver's side of my vehicle. We continued to spin and hit the truck again with a side impact. and spun again after the second impact. The front airbags deployed but the over head side impact airbags did NOT deploy. My wife was driving and hit her head on the drivers side window resulting in a large contusion on her forehead. The only safety notice or recall information we had for this vehicle was concerning the electric start and ignition components with the batteries that left our vehicle stranded at one point, until we had that repaired. We never had any notice or alerts of any air bag deficiencies in the vehicle. The driver's side and driver's passenger side airbags should have deployed upon the impact. We had our two little girls 2yr and 9mo old, 12 yr old, myself, my wife and grandma in the vehicle. No one else was injured in the vehicle except my wife the driver, hitting her head on the side window.

POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

On three recent, separate occasions, the vehicle has lost acceleration while making a left hand turn from a stop (date listed for this incident is most recent). No visual or aural warning indications have displayed on the dash during or proximate to these incidents, but the car felt like it went out of gear while making a normal left turn. Pushing or releasing the throttle only affected engine RPM, not any acceleration, so it felt like we were only coasting. It lasts longer than a normal shift, more than a few seconds, before power is sent to the wheels again. On two of the occasions there was oncoming traffic approaching the intersection. If the power had died any sooner in the turn I'm not sure I would have cleared the intersection in time with what little speed I had gained, increasing the risk of collision. I am taking the car to the local Chrysler dealership tomorrow for inspection and hopeful diagnosis/repair. I can't replicate the issue on demand, but after 3 separate occasions, it is an unmistakable feeling. Based on the clunky, jerking shifting into gear that sometimes occurs with the vehicle outside the above-described incidents, I believe it might be transmission related, but I can't be sure.

WE BOUGHT THE CHRYSLER VAN NEW IN 2018. ONE YEAR (~10,000 MILES) LATER, THE VAN DEVELOPED ROUGH UPSHIFTING. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT IT OCCASIONALLY BANGS INTO GEAR VERY VIOLENTLY UNDER SLOW ACCELERATION AT 30 - 35 MPH. WE TOOK THE VAN TO CHRYSLER MECHANICS BUT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ROUGH SHIFT SO THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS, IT SCARES ME TO DEATH. IT FEELS LIKE A SLEDGEHAMMER HIT THE VAN!

MY WIFE AND I JUST PURCHASED THE PACIFICA AND DECIDED TO TAKE A ROAD TRIP FROM ARIZONA TO OREGON . WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH THE HILLS AND MOUNTAINS THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY TO MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEEDS! THERE WAS A LOT OF LAG TIME FROM THE DRIVERS INPUT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE TO RESPOND. ALSO THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD ENGAGE SUDDENLY AND SPEED UP. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TECH SAID THE VEHICLE SOFTWARE WAS ENGINEERED THAT WAY AND HE COULDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR US.

JULY 28, 2018 7:20PM: STOPPED THE CAR AT CROSSWALK FOR PEDESTRIANS. WHILE CAR WAS STATIONARY WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE STARTED TO RACE WITH INCREASING FORCE. FEARING THAT I COULD NOT HOLD IT BACK WITH THE BRAKE, I REACHED OVER AND SHIFTED THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL, WHICH REMEDIED THE SITUATION. NOTES: 1) THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ENGAGED AT THE TIME. 2) THE AUTO STOP/START WAS NOT ENGAGED (I.E. THE BLUE LIGHT WAS ON). THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. NEITHER OF THESE EVENTS APPEAR TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH CHRYSLER'S U64 OR U50 RECALLS, AS NEITHER THE CRUISE CONTROL NOR MANUAL PARK RELEASE WERE ENGAGED. HOWEVER, IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE AUTO STOP/START WAS NOT ENGAGED IN BOTH SITUATIONS. ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS: ON NUMEROUS PAST OCCASIONS, WHEN THE CAR DID HAVE THE AUTO STOP/START FEATURE ENGAGED (I.E. BLUE LIGHT OFF), THE CAR WOULD "BUCK" WHILE GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION (I.E. IT WOULD SLAM INTO GEAR). THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY WE NOW DISABLE THE AUTO STOP/START. ON EVEN MINOR DECLINES, THE VAN GAINS SPEED WELL PAST ACCEPTABLE LIMITS WHILE CRUISE CONTROL IS ENGAGED. I HAVE HAD TO BRAKE TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN IT PASSES 10 MPH OVER THE SET SPEED. MY 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, SO NOT SURE WHY A NEWER MODEL VEHICLE DOES. IT DOES NOT EXPLICITLY ACCELERATE BUT IT DOES NOT BRAKE TO MAINTAIN CRUISING SPEEDS ON EVEN SLIGHTLY GRADED DOWNHILL SLOPES. THE LONGER THE SLOPE, THE WORSE THE EFFECT.

I'VE HAD IT HAPPEN TWICE NOW WHERE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET TO AROUND 64 MPH, AND WHEN GOING DOWNHILL, THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED. HOWEVER, THE CAR THEN ACCELERATED BEYOND 70 MPH BOTH TIMES, AND DIDN'T LET GO OF THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL I TURNED THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF.

My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica has ongoing electrical problems that match the same symptoms described in existing recalls, but my VIN is not included in those campaigns. The issues began around 08/30/22. The vehicle has experienced stalling, electrical shutdown, dashboard warning lights, loss of power steering issues, failure of the start-stop system, dead batteries, loud creaking, popping, squeaking noises from the front suspension, especially when turning, backing up, steering lock, or going over bumps. These events began in 2021 and continue despite numerous repairs at mechanics and dealerships. Despite repairs and inspections, the problems continue. I have reviewed NHTSA recalls and found recall numbers 18V524000, 20V334000, 19V143000 as well as battery ground recall for 2017–2019 models, and my vehicle’s problems are identical to those safety issues. The dealer confirmed that my VIN is not covered, so I have been responsible for repair costs. These defects create a serious safety hazard, especially when the vehicle stalls or loses power while driving. It places my family and other drivers at risk of a crash. We have been stranded on highways and in the center of busy intersections due to loss of power. I strongly request that NHTSA investigate whether the existing recalls should be expanded to include additional VIN ranges, since many 2018 Pacifica owners (myself included) are experiencing the same electrical failures. I have had the vehicle inspected/repaired on: 4/15/21, 9/15/22, 10/2/23, 11/22/23, 8/10/24, 7/21/25, 8/7/25, 9/23/25 for battery ground, electrical module replacement, wiring repair, and strut repairs. The issues persist despite these attempts.

There is a loud clicking and popping noise from the front drivers side suspension when turning or going over bumpy ground. The car also pulls to one side unexpectedly when going around corners Sometimes while driving the car will shut down and restart as if rebooting a computer.

I left the parking lot and started driving home at about 8:45pm on 3/31 and heard a really loud pop. It sounded like glass and I inspected the windows and panoramic sunroof. The panoramic sunroof glass has shattered on the 2nd row section and has a hole in it. The glass is still making noises like it's continuing to crack.

SEAT BELTS

The middle row passenger seat belt will no longer latch. There were no warnings. The seatbelt became unlatched on it's own while I was driving my children to school on 3/15/2024. I had to immediately pull over and call for help. None of my children are old enough to ride in the front seat, so this was quite scary. The seat belt has not been able to latch since.

The seatbelt looks as though it has been cut partially through by the fixed seatbelt guide on the middle row of seats. Those seatbelts hold in place two car seats for a young child and an infant. The seatbelts rarely get moved because we keep the car seats secured to the two middle row seats. The seat belts were briefly inspected by a service advisor at the Chrysler dealership, Taris, who stated that it looks like it could have been done by the seatbelt guide. The first time I noticed it was just on the driver side back in 2022. When I noticed an identical cut on the passenger side about a week to two weeks ago, I knew that there was a problem, and I also noticed that there is a secondary cut starting on driver's side because in March we had another baby and placed a new car seat base on the driver side seat. The driver side seat belt is now locked into place and cannot be viewed unless the side interior panel is removed. That has not been done at this time.

THE SAFETY PULL ON THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LET UP WHEN UNBUCKLING. IT FORCED MY DAUGHTER INTO ALMOST SUFFOCATION AND ULTIMATELY NEEDED TO BE CUT (BACK ROW, PASSENGER SIDE). I'VE NOW NOTICED THAT THE MIDDLE ROW, MIDDLE SEAT (8 SEATER) HAS A SIMILAR ISSUE. IT CONTINUES TO TIGHTEN AND DOES NOT LET UP ON, WHAT SEEMINGLY SHOULD BE A SAFETY FEATURE. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES

The vehicle display reads "Service Charging System" and switches into limp mode where the vehicle is prevented from driving faster than 15 mph. After leaving the van sit for a time, it drives ok. I took the van to a Chrysler dealership twice after this happened, and the dealership could not resolve the issue. After the second time this happened, the dealership contacted an engineer at Chrysler to try and resolve the problem, but they could not. Chrysler says the problem stems from the charger that is being used, but the error/limp mode occurs not after using a charger. I am concerned that the vehicle will switch over to limp mode at any time presenting a safety risk.

Initial Symptoms: Auto-start/stop failed/tripped, plus excessive white exhaust smoke continuously exits (will not stop). Stopped driving vehicle ~26Nov2023. Problem 1: P0303 Solution 1: Ignition coil and spark plug replacements @ $905.17 (15Dec2023) Not Fixed: Error code is gone but white smoke persists. Problem 2: Chrysler tech found low coolant, traced to EGR cooler. Solution 2: Replaced EGR cooler @ $1,319.00 (05Jan2024) Not Fixed: Excessive white smoke still exits tailpipe and does not stop. Neither solution fixed the root cause. There is also an engine smoke smell in the cabin (we don't smoke). Potential Root Cause: Failed head gasket forcing coolant into the engine then burning out as white exhaust.

I HAVE BEEN REPORTING TO CHRYSLER THE CONDITIONS AND MALFUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE NEVER FIXED, ALWAYS SAYS THAT EVERYTHING IS OK. I HAVE TO DRIVE AND PAY A LEMON CAR WITH NO REMEDY. EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION HAVE ISSUES, AND ALSO WHEN I DRIVE MY CAR AND I NEED TO USE THE CAMERA TO SEE THE BACK OF THE STREET, THE SCREEN DOESN'T WORK.

THERE ARE TWO ISSUES: 1) ON CITY STREETS WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR. THERE IS NO REVVING OF THE MOTOR, NO RESISTANCE ON THE ACCELERATOR. FEELS LIKE THE VAN IS SHUTTING OFF (BUT IT ISN'T). I CAN PUSH THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN WITH NO INCREASE OF SPEED. THIS LASTS ABOUT 4 SECONDS. The vehicle stalls while driving without any notice. This van has a start/stop function and it malfunctions. There are two separate batteries that control this function and both of them have been replaced. The entire steering rack and steering column have had to be replaced. The front suspension has also had to be replaced because the tires wear out very quickly. The alternator, radiator, and motor mounts have also had to be replaced. The van is available for inspection. At the moment the vehicle will not start and I have been advised that it needs a new starter. This vehicle is a safety risk and it puts others at risk as well. These problems have been diagnosed and confirmed by at least three different service centers including a Chrysler dealership. I generally do not get any warning lamps, messages, or symptoms when the van stalls.

ON MAY 23, 2018 I WAS IN ROUTE TO WORK PER NORMAL. IT WAS ABOUT 8:30 AM. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE LEFT HAND TURN LANE (SECOND FROM RIGHT LANE) ON A 6 LANE BUSY CITY STREET WAITING FOR A RED LIGHT TO TURN GREEN SO I COULD TURN LEFT/NORTH ONTO NEXT STREET. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I TOOK MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR SUDDENLY POWERED DOWN. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PUT IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE CAR, AND THEN PUSHED START AGAIN. THE CAR STARTED BUT WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. I RETRIED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO LUCK TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND MOVE FORWARD. I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AS CARS STARTED TO STACK UP BEHIND ME WHILE I WAS MOTIONING FOR TRAFFIC TO GO AROUND ME. I TRIED AGAIN TO RESTART AND WHILE THE CAR WOULD RESTART, I COULD NOT MOVE IT OUT OF PARK AND WAS STUCK THERE. WITH MY HAZARDS ON, I CALLED THE POLICE TO ASSIST AND THEN TRIED TO USE MY UCONNECT TO REACH MY 'FREE' ROADSIDE ASSITANCE USING MY ASSIST BUTTON. I GOT AN ERROR MESSAGE MULTIPLE TIMES THAT IT WOULD NOT CONNECT. I FOUND THE 800 NUMBER AND MANUALLY DIALED MYSELF. AFTER ABOUT A 10 MINUTE PROCESS I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO ORDER SERVICE VIA THE TEXT PROCESS THAT WAS SENT TO ME. IT TOOK ANOTHER 5 MINUTES BEFORE I RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT TOW TRUCK WAS ORDERED. POLICE ARRIVED. I CALLED BACK TO DETERMINE HOW LONG TOW TRUCK WOULD TAKE TO FIND IT WAS 90 MINUTES. THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE DUE TO MY LOCATION AND THE TRAFFIC BACKUP. I CALLED MY DEALER DIRECTLY AND THEY SENT SERVICE WITHIN 30 MINUTES. THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED A CALL FROM CHRYSLER STAR TEAM (DUE TO THE ROADSIDE REPORT I FILED) AND THEY HAD MY CAR FOR ONE WEEK. I HAVE THE CAR BACK NOW AND THERE ARE NO SOLID EXPLANATIONS AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. I KNOW THAT CHRYSLER WAS VERY INVOLVED IN HAVING DEALER PERFORM MULTIPLE TESTS. THANKFUL I WAS NOT ON FREEWAY.

Vehicle was put into reverse and did not stop, it hit a pole. Then the driver tried to put in drive to get it off of the pole and it accelerated quickly and the driver could not stop the vehicle. There was little time to react as it hit the side of a building and airbags deployed. Driver stated that the car accelerated on it's own once it was put into gear.

This van is a 2018 modified with a handicap accessible rear ramp. We purchased this van in 2021 and since it has spent 6 months the first time at the shop then it was at our facility totally not running for another 6 months we paid 400 dollars to tow it to a dealership they replaced the transmission it ran for 2 months and now doesn’t start it’s in limp mode and when it does start and run when your driving it loses all power suddenly. We have only put 3800 miles on this van in the time we’ve had it and we owe over 25,000 still on it. Nobody can figure out what’s wrong with it but we are very small residential care facility and we are unable to transport residents because we have a broken van that we still pay for do we can’t purchase another one.

DOCUMENTED OVER 350 INCIDENTS OF THIS SUBJECT PACIFICA FOR 3 YEARS. OFTEN, I COULD NOT STOP THE ENGINE FROM RACING AT ITS HIGHEST RATE OF SPEED WHILE ON FREEWAYS AND OTHER ROADS. THIS VEHICLES ENGINE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN AND BEGIN FORCED PUMPING OF BRAKES MAKING THE VEHICLE RISE IN HEIGHT AND.. I was driving and the van suddenly lost all propulsion. Brakes and steering and dash lights functioned, but there was a red turtle icon and error message about a system failure. The accelerator pedal did nothing at all. I was able to coast off the side of the road to a place to pull over, but that could have been a terrible accident if I lost power like that on I-95 or any other major highway. My husband came and we switch cars (kids, car seats, etc) and he was able to get the van to start after half an hour. It had check engine lights on for things, but the dealer said to bring it in because it was drivable again. Despite brining it in as told, with check engine lights on that they saw, they said they could not reproduce it and couldn't find codes for the check engine light (even though I pulled them from my own OBD2 diagnostic plug tool and took photos of the codes) and eventually said I have to take the car back, despite no cause or resolution. These cars have known faulty battery issues and a large number have been replaced already, but Chrysler isn't authorizing dealers to do that unless they can reliably reproduce the failure. Very frustrating to see Chrysler not go the route of other manufacturers who sourced their batteries from the same plant and ended up proactively replacing them for consumers. While Chrysler's many recalls for the hybrid battery system software have probably made it detect faults earlier to try to prevent fires, they are still known to happen, but now in addition to a fire risk, we also have a car that has a much higher chance of just losing power while driving due to over sensitive battery monitoring, or a plain old faulty battery that just isn't faulty 'enough' for Chrysler to authorize a replacement. So frustrating and dangerous.

After safety recall 73B was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on 08/25/2025, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated on 09/09/2025. I was inundated with multiple failure lights including; check engine, service electronic throttle control, service hybrid electric vehicle system, blind spot alert, and I felt like I lost power steering. I was unsure if the van was safe to drive, but was able to get it to the dealership. They were able to pull multiple codes. Including the one for the check engine light. They decided that the problem was related to the ABS control module. They replaced it and the van has been fine so far. It seems these error codes are widespread after performing recall 73B. Many other customers are complaining of the same thing. I believe these errors are from the testing to the High Voltage battery, and their 'software fix'. It's not safe to lose your power steering while driving. It's not safe to have multiple error codes continuously going off while operating the car. It's not safe to have a family car that we have been told twice to not park in the garage, charge, or park near a structure. This is their second attempt at 73B, and overall the second fire recall. My van and high voltage battery are definitely available for inspection.

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for regular maintenance service, and the contact was informed that the motor mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle failures were not diagnosed during regular maintenance service. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 121,000.

Electrical adaptive, cruise control, forward collision warning, and shifter all malfunctioned. It is available for inspection. There was failure to accelerate at an intersection which almost caused vehicle to be rear ended. The error codes have been pulled and shown by O’Reillys auto parts. The vehicle is pending inspection by an independent mechanic. The adaptive cruise control the Ford collision, warning and service shifter warning lamps all appeared shortly before this problem occurred.

Car was on cruise control. While approaching traffic, attempt was made to release cruise control by braking. Brake system was locked, vehicle started accelerating and revving. Brakes would not work, had to swerve to avoid collision. Managed to fidget with the gear knob. Finally managed to gain control of vehicle. I figured I gained control because I must have shifted the gear into Neutral somehow. I had my entire family of SIX in the car. Without having gained control, the vehicle would have accelerated until I crashed it. It accelerated past 80mph before I could gain control

Hello: My 2018 Pacifica hybrid was just recalled, and serviced, yet the hybrid battery only last a few miles before needing to be recharged. Also, when in reverse the back up camera doesn’t always come on and doesn’t beep when approaching an obstacle. It will also stay on while driving forward.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while reversing, the back-over prevention camera screen failed to function as intended. The back-over prevention screen displayed a black screen. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with computer and electrical system failure. The contact was informed that the back-over prevention assembly, instrument cluster, and electrical system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed of an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

Reverse camera screen remained on after reversing and during a ~30 minute drive. Stopped vehicle, shutoff engine, opened door to trigger interior electronic shutoff. Restarted vehicle and backup camera still remained during drive until eventually changing to full blue screen with "Camera System Unavailable" message at the top. (photo available) The event occurred during extreme winter weather in Oklahoma 1/30/2023 and is an obvious safety issue. The constant rearview display while driving is very distracting and disorienting. Additionally, the vehicle climate control settings for defog, heat, and other settings are unavailable for determining and adjusting to external environmental conditions, as experienced during the winter weather event leading to full interior fogging and reduced visibility (another mechanical safety issue prevalent to this vehicle series). This issue is found under NHTSA Campaign 19V886000 for 2018-2019 year models however, our VIN is not included. I contacted the original dealer service department, and they informed me of no related recall for our specific VIN as well. I contacted FCA/Chrysler Customer Service in reference to recall VE2 as indicated in NHTSA recall 19V886000 and informed no recall as well and no other assistance or direction. Our vehicle VIN should be included in the recall.

My transmission went out at 108,000 miles. 6 out of 9 gears went bad. Had it replaced and it went out again 2 weeks later. The transmission dropped while I was driving but luckily I was pulling into a parking spot. Had to have another transmission installed. This scared me because my kid was in the car and was on the expressway a couple of minutes before it dropped. Also, the oil filter housing was cracked and I know this is a common problem because it is made of plastic.

THE VEHICLE DURING OPERATION SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND WOULD NOT MOVE ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE FIRST OCCASION HAPPENED LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON THE OD. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 30MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN IT LOST POWER TO THE WHEELS AND HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE. HAD TO TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN FOR IT TO OPERATE. THE SECOND OCCASION AT 5500 MILES IT JUST STOPPED AFTER PULLING OUT FROM A STOP SIGN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WENT ON BRIEFLY AS IT WAS STOPPING. AGAIN THE ENGINE WAS ON BUT IT WOULD NOT MOVE. HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE FOR IT TO OPERATE.

In 2023, my vehicle initially experienced a persistent ticking noise in the engine, leading to extensive repairs. These included replacing the tappets, rockers, and timing chain tensioner on the right bank of the engine. Following these repairs, the vehicle exhibited low oil pressure, ultimately requiring a complete long block replacement. These issues left the vehicle out of service for nearly two months, significantly disrupting our daily lives. Despite these major repairs, my Pacifica has recently developed overheating issues, necessitating the replacement of the radiator at an estimated cost of over $2,000. The vehicle has less than 60,000 miles, and I find it deeply concerning that such critical mechanical issues are occurring at such low mileage. These repeated failures suggest a potential underlying defect in the design or manufacturing of this vehicle, which could present a safety risk. An overheating engine, for instance, poses a potential hazard both to the occupants and to other road users. As a police officer and parent of three young children, I rely on this vehicle for my family’s safety and transportation. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate whether these issues are indicative of a broader defect in 2018 Chrysler Pacifica models. Van has been clunking/slipping through transmission when accelerating. Stop/Start function error relayed and had a rough idle noticeable when started cold. Car would shut down on occasion when coming to a stop. Battery was recently replaced, assuming due to start/stop battery(also been replaced) draining main battery. Technician indicated Misfire on cylinder, coil swapped, spark plugs replaced and 100,000 mileage maintenance completed per recommendation due to scope of work. Van returned then upon first start, extremely rough idle and exhaust smelled the worst I've ever smelled, choking even. Van taken under warranty at least 2 times for transmission and abrupt shutdowns due to safety concerns with vehicle. Never replicated at dealership.

The transmission shifts hard when traveling around 14 mph then will jerk (like being rear ended), slows down then accelerates on its own. I'm afraid it will cause an accident. Chrysler said it is supposed to work like that and nothing is wrong with it. I have had 3 diagnostic tests done it and it shows nothing is wrong.

I HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR AND WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM THE DEALER. ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND STARTED TO PUT ON THE BRAKES WHEN I HAD AN UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION EVENT. (IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD JUST STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR). I HAD TO SLAM HARD ON THE BRAKES AND JUST AVOIDED HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I KNOW THIS WAS CAUSED PROBABLY BY THE COMPUTER BUT I KNOW IT WASN'T ME. MY FOOT WAS ONLY ON THE BRAKE. The contact stated that six months after purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle experienced a tire blowout and upon looking for the spare tire kit, he became aware that there was no spare tire kit inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a nearby gas station where the tire was replaced. The contact contacted an unknown dealer and inquired about the spare tire kit. The dealer attempted to order the part unsuccessfully and later informed the contact that the part had been discontinued. The contact stated that he had contacted several other dealers in the USA and Canada and was informed that the part was no longer available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist and that the NHTSA could require them to install the spare tire kit inside the vehicle. The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica equipped with Kumho Solus Tire Size: 235/65R17, DOT Number: 275AYAY1. On three separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the contact's steering wheel would shake without warning as one of his tires would become defective. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to a dealer where they replaced the rear passenger side tire due to an internal band failure. The second time, the same failure occurred with the rear driver side tire as an independent mechanic replaced that tire. Soon after the second replacement, the front passenger side tire also experienced that same failure. The contact then decided to replace all four tires. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. All tires were replaced. Each tire that failed were original tires.The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

Vehicle randomly loses all steering power and van completely shuts off while in motion. Has happened twice now without warning. Won't start up til vehicle is in park and has stalled for a minute.. Could be potentially very dangerous on a highway or busy intersection. I have owned this vehicle for less than 1 year. According to consumerreport.org certain pacificas years 2017-2019 had this same issue back in 2019 and approximately 150,000 were recalled at the time. MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON THE STREET. THE LAST TWO OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS MOVING AT 25MPH OR HIGHER WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE FCA V53 RECALL BEING ISSUED, AND HAS PERSISTED EVEN AFTER TAKING THE CAR IN TO BE FIXED UNDER THE RECALL. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST OFTEN IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES OF OPERATING THE CAR, AND ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE GONE ABOVE 30 MILES AN HOUR AND THEN DECELERATE (LIKE APPROACHING A LIGHT). THE CAR WILL LURCH, SHUT OFF, ALL THE INDICATOR LIGHTS WILL COME ON, AND THEN 'START/STOP REQUIRED' WILL APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CAR ALWAYS SHUTS OFF WHILE IN THE "DRIVE" POSITION. SOMETIMES I AM ABLE TO REMEDY THE STALLING QUICKLY, AND SOMETIMES IT TAKES MORE THAN THREE TRIES. ONE OR MORE FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS "UNAVAILABLE" AFTER THIS OCCURS. THE SUDDEN STOPPING HAS ALWAYS BEEN TERRIFYING AND UNEXPECTED. ON THE LAST TWO OCCASIONS (WITHIN A WEEK OF ONE ANOTHER), I HAVE COME VERY CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED WITH THREE BABIES IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR. I HAVE TRIED REACHING OUT TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO NO AVAIL. THE REPS HAVE STATED THAT I MUST RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE V53 RECALL WAS PERFORMED BUT THAT DEALERSHIP HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS AND I AM LEFT WITHOUT A REMEDY. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM PERSISTING EVEN AFTER THE RECALL AND HAS NOT REMEDIED THE SITUATION. The first thing I would like to address is the shutdown system eco feature has shutdown out of nowhere. An A indicator light is on dash, along with my check engine light. In addition, when I turn the vehicle on the RPM go sky high for about 45 seconds before it adjust to proper rpms. I also believe there are major electrical issue going on with the vehicle. My power doors, and rear door won’t open and the lights in the minivan flicker when the vehicle starts. I am worried this is my only family means for transportation. I have only had this vehicle for a little over a year.

I was driving about 45MPH, slowed up to a green traffic light, turned right and accelerated. The car lost power for about 5 seconds, then came back on after I had pulled to the side. We brought it in for service, but Chrysler could not duplicate or diagnose the issue. Then, twice, my wife was stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. She got a green left arrow, accelerated into her turn, and the car lost power, then resumed after about 3-5 seconds each time. After her second occurrence, my wife drove it straight to the dealership, got the service advisor to drive the vehicle with her, he turned right into another dealership, and the car lost power for 3 seconds. Again, Chrysler was unable to diagnose and repair the problem.

No mater what I tried it wouldn't budge had to the dealer twice about it they said they needed to order a part. They are in northeast Ohio Right now I am 200 miles from home on a Sunday . And hope a local dealer has the part This van has been a disappointment to say the least.

I RETURNED HOME FROM DRIVING A HALF AN HOUR IN MY VEHICLE AND WHEN I PUSHED THE START/STOP BUTTON TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF IT WOULD NOT GO COMPLETELY OFF. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF BUT THE SENSORS AND RADIO WOULD NOT TURN OFF. NORMALLY IT SHUTS OFF WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK. SO THEN I MESSED WITH THINGS A BIT AND MADE SURE ALL DOORS WERE SHUT. WHEN DOING SO THE BACK LEFT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH ALL OF THE WAY. IT WOULD GO TO SHUT AND THE OPEN AGAIN BEFORE LATCHING.

THE CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL & AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT, PUSHING UP AGAINST THE CURB. THE CAR STARTED TO SMOKE AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. CONCERNED IT WAS GOING TO GO ON FIRE, MY DAUGHTER & I RAN OUT. WHEN WE WERE OUT OF THE CAR I SAW THAT THE FRONT AXLE CONNECTING THE TIRE HAD COME COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED AND DROPPED TO THE STREET WHILE DRIVING. I CALLED 911 FOR HELP. THE FIREMEN ARRIVED FIRST. THE CAR WAS STILL REVVING & SMOKING BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO SHUT IT MANUALLY SO THEY HAD TO LIFT THE HOOD & CUT THE WIRES. THE POLICE ARRIVED & INVESTIGATED THE AREA. The contact stated that there was no coolant in the coolant reservoir. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic, who indicated that a coolant pressure test was needed. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the front and rear head gaskets needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 51,000.

While unsticking by turning the steering wheel harder than normal, it either crosses into uncoming traffic or runs off the shoulder. The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact had to press the PUSH-to-Start button several times for the vehicle to restart. The contact stated that the lights were out on the gear shifter. The driver was able to shift to park and then continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a corroded wire in the active grill shutter system. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact replaced the battery. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer and also the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

I am writing to formally report ongoing and unresolved electrical issues with my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Despite replacing both the main and auxiliary batteries, several components continue to fail, including: •The third-row power seats, which do not function at all or operate intermittently, rendering them impossible to stow or adjust. There is no manual override, which is a serious design flaw for families. •The rear liftgate, which starts to open and then immediately closes without completing its cycle. •The passenger-side rear entertainment screen, which is completely non-functional while the driver’s side screen works normally. These issues have severely impacted the usability and reliability of the vehicle. The third-row seat and tailgate problems, in particular, compromise safety and convenience—especially for families with children. The third-row power seat design lacks a manual fallback, which could leave passengers stuck in emergency situations. The liftgate’s failure to open fully and the battery system’s unreliability and constant need for replacement (around every 1.5/2 years) has left my stranded countless times. These electrical issues need recalls and solutions.

Recurrent intermittent power steering failure and intermittent engine stall. Steering wheel gets stuck when turning right while driving at speed on highway. Steering wheel gets very heavy and requires some force to get it back to center. If I let go of the steering wheel, it would stay in the same position until I move it back. When driving at slower speeds, usually when navigating around turns or roundabouts, the engine will stall and then drastically jolt into gear. Two different mechanics have not been able to identify the root cause. They have checked alignment, electrical codes, and other potential issues without any answers. After research, I believe I am experiencing similar issues as detailed in the Safety Recall V53 / NHTSA 19V-348 Power Steering Assist. My VIN was not included in the recall , but I believe my car is showing similar concerns. I have requested a local Chrysler dealer look into this issue specifically and I have an upcoming appointment.

I bought my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica limited about two years ago. It’s been the worst decision I’ve ever made. I have just about a 3% rate and with the amount of issues these things have I’m so far upside down it’s not even funny. This car with all of its known issues is depreciating faster than I can pay for it. I currently have about 129,000 miles on it. I couldn’t get rid of this thing if I tried. The Chrysler dealership I service it with said they would give me 4000.00 IF they were willing to buy it back. The engine build company my mechanic uses says they won't even build these engines at all because of how many issues they have. So no option other than to buy the exact same engine is has now through Chrysler and know it will do it again. I’m having stalling/accelerating issues (shop can’t figure it out, kids cry when it stalls in traffic.. I've been in for it about 9 times to two different place) Oil cooler housing unit replaced last year (taken it back in a few times for ongoing leak, now need a head gasket) Head gasket Batteries galore Ongoing start stop issues My AC went out the month I bought it (leak in the lines near the rear) 3000k to fix The shop says it needs lifters, cam shafts and rockers (might as well do the engine if I had the extra money after paying off the rest of the repairs) My heated and cooled seats have stopped working numerous times Dash comes on and off when it wants Back up camera stays on the screen while I drive as much as it doesnt My rear washer fluid sprays INSIDE the car onto my kids Rear power seats stopped working multiple times now Get in to head to work and it just won’t start…. Have to basically play a video game with the controls and key fob to miraculously start it up Starting to rust already We have owned 2 Durango’s, 2 dodge rams, a Chrysler Sebring and now this. Clearly we support Chrysler but after this my husband switched to a ford truck and I will be going back as soon as I can if this isn't resolved.

While I was driving the right control arm seperated from the car. I was fortunate that I wasn't on the highway, also that I did not cause a collision with another car/person. With no warning the car felt as if it dropped on to the ground. Soon after I received an error message saying to service the brakes which i assume was also damaged when the control arm fell... I had to have the car towed to a repair shop and received a list of repairs. The car is avaliable for inspection. I had no clue how something like that could even happen. Ive been trying to find answers when i saw a recall on another car by the same maker that perfectly summed up what happened to me. Chrysler's number for this recall is V15.

While driving on a 4-lane highway, I received a message on the dashboard "Vehicle will shut off soon". I had just a few seconds before power to the vehicle was limited. The engine stopped working and another message was displayed: "Battery Conditioning Leave Ignition in Run." After that the car would no longer move and I was in the middle of the right lane. Luckily I could get my children out safely. The vehicle was towed to the local Chrysler dealership where it is waiting for repair.

I had had multiple incidents when the Van would get stuck in a gear or would lose the ability to accelerate. The passenger doors, specifically the right side passenger door would get suck and continuously open because it could not close. The rear view cameras would get stuck and after reverting to D it would stay on the screen for at least 5 min before switching back. The screen would also go blank. The van would also get stuck between gears or would shut off at a stop light.On this particular day I was driving and was starting to slowdown for the light signal. The van suddenly jolted and stopped completely. I tried to turn it on and it would not start. I was very lucky that the car behind me noticed me slowing down and did not hit the van. I tried to turn on the van and the electrical function would turn on but not the engine. Then after continuously trying to start it the gear function would not move. I also want to add that at the time of purchase the van was missing a air duct and I was not made aware of that. I was told by the dealer that it had active recalls but they were not able to fix the recalls because the engine would not start. It had an active recall for the flash software and for the start stop. Dealer tried to tell me it overheated, however this is false, there was no white smoke and no other indications that the van had overheated. I wasn't able to add that the electrical in the vehicle is a problem. The radio and screen would just go blank at times.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the vehicle transmission shifted to park with the START/STOP system warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the gear shifter module needed to be replaced. About a year later, the contact stated that the START/STOP warning light and the check engine warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where a misfire in cylinder #6 was found. The dealer flushed the engine, replaced the ignition coils, and replaced the spark plug in cylinder#6. Despite the repairs, the contact became aware of a slight engine rattle at start up. The contact continued to drive the vehicle however, the check engine and START/STOP warning lights returned. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the contact was informed that the failure might be linked to a blown head gasket but could not determine the failure without an official diagnostic test. While the contact's husband was driving from the dealer, the engine started to overheat. The vehicle was driven to the residence and then towed to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was diagnosed with head gasket failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to have the vehicle towed back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer and remained in the dealer possession. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

The contact stated that on several occasions the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the START/STOP engine warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The contact stated that on the last occasion, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. All the electronic controls in the vehicle malfunctions even when the vehicle is driving like the ABS, displays, throttle, ADAS and all other controls How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle suddenly starts throwing the warnings while you are driving - sometimes in the freeways, it also jerks, throttle and other controls and displays goes blank, you are not sure even if the emergency flasher is activated Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? It started almost 2 years ago in Dec 2021 when the check engine light first came, dealer tried to fix by replacing the 12 volt battery but the problems started slowly and in August 2022 disabled the vehicle completely. The vehicle had been with the dealer most of the time since then and its still not fixed as of today

Hi, I received a recall notice in February 2022 (Z11) related to a fire potentially originating in the center of the vehicle underbody with the ignition in the OFF position. A resolution to this defect has just become available which would require the car (Chrysler Pacifica VIN 118706) to be kept overnight by an authorized dealer. My complaint deals with that no deal can provide a rental car that is of equal size to accommodate my family of 6 with four kids using car seats. I was told that an car of equal size cannot be provided and would have to pay for a rental out of pocket. Why would the cost not be covered by the manufacture that is attempting to resolve an issue created by them. I have kept my part of the agreement by making my monthly car payments and paying the car off with no issue. It seems to me that the manufacture has no regard to the buyers of their vehicles after the sell is complete. I am looking to have the recall corrected and to have a rental car of equal size provided by the manufacture, since they are holding my car as they fix their mistake. Let's take ownership of our mistake and do the right thing. Thank you for helping with this recall

Sept. 12, 2022 - Ever since we have owned this vehicle, we have experienced this issue with the cruise control. Speed increases while driving downhill highways and sometimes on pretty level highways. When I decrease the speed on the controller, it sometimes maintains the speed for several seconds (slow to respond) in order to slow down while coming up behind another vehicle. I therefore need to break or turn off the cruise control. Very unpredictable. Also, speed changes a lot which sounds like shifting gears back and forth while going uphill. I had contacted the dealer originally and was told this is normal. This is ongoing. Happens every time when driving on the highway. Safety concern. The other issue we had experienced while driving on a city street, we got some odd sounds, what sounded like it was coming for the transmission. Like shifting sounds. and on another couple of occasions, we got a kind of (clunk) noise. Not sure…hard to explain. Only happened a few times over the last several months. and was brief. This in not ongoing, but a concern for failure and or safety. No warning lamps or messages

There are multiple things but here are a few i thought my wife was crazy until i started to drive it. 1. The steering feels like it gets stuck its not Major but it is a slight tug and it does it at random. 2. The trunk opens own its own (it has done this 2 times while i was driving) my wife says it has happened to her 1 other time as well. 3. The sliding doors will open and close on freely like something is caught in the track however the tracks are clean and it will bounce open close. 4. The Gas pedal sticks not engaged but when you press the gas nothing will happen then all of the sudden the RPMs will skyrocket 5. Cruise control works great if your on a flat road but if you get on a slight hill your either getting all the RPMs or it turns it off 6. The Auto Stop start thing stopped working and the light stays on but that's fine I didn't like the stop start thing anyway. 7. I did change a battery and it helped with the dash lights not looking like a Christmas program 8. the AC went out after the car had one of the RPM fits then the AC stopped. how does that make sense 9. overall i think the car is having some type of electrical issue or it has a mind of its own. Ive gone to mechanics and they all just do the same shoulder shrug. i have a appointment with a dealership but they are so back logged its disappointing.

The contact stated that while parking the vehicle in her garage, the gear shifter indicator light was not illuminated while shifting from the drive (D) to park (P) and the vehicle was not able to turn off after pushing the START/STOP button. Additionally, the rear liftgate door was not able to open as needed. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact's neighbor disconnected the fuel lines and was able to turn off the vehicle; however, the instrument panel light and headlights were not able to be turned off. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

The contact received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V077000 (Hybrid Propulsion System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and offered to pay for a rental. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. It is now going on 4 months since consumer received the recall notice and there is still no fix for this car.

The upper control arms bushings needed replaced due to a popping noise from the wheel any time I turned. You then could feel the pop under your feet when you turn. We got them fixed, but now it has started popping again just 2 weeks later. There is now a rattling/clanging noise coming from the feet area when you hit a bump. It’s pretty loud at times and you can feel vibrating in the steering wheel. I feel very unsafe with my two children being in the car and traveling around town. The auto start stop battery has also been replaced many times. It keeps going out and will make my car turn off while driving at times.

I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 40MPH. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, BUT ELECTRICAL MAINTAINED. AFTER A COUPLE HUNDRED FEET THE ENGINE CAME BACK ON. WITHOUT PUSHING ON THE GAS THE ENGINE ACCELERATED THE CAR OVER A SHORT DISTANCE, BREAK WAS INPUTTED AND FULL CONTROL WAS RESTORED TO THE PHYSICAL. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE AS THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES.

WHILE DRIVING, MY SON, WHO WAS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE THIRD ROW, NOTICED THAT HIS CUPHOLDER AREA WAS EXTREMELY HOT. I PULLED OVER AND CONFIRMED. WE DROVE ON AND I TOLD HIM TO CHECK. IT STAYED VERY HOT FOR THE DURATION OF THE DRIVE. AT THE FIRST VISIT THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY ADDED INSULATION BETWEEN THE INTERIOR PANELS AND THE COOLANT LINES IN THE AREA, THOUGH AS AN ENGINEER I UNDERSTOOD THAT SAID INSULATION WOULD DO NOTHING IF IT WERE SQUEEZED TIGHTLY BETWEEN THE PANEL AND THE PIPE. WE NOTICED NO CHANGE AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO CHRYSLER, WHO REFUNDED THE VISIT BUT TOOK NO FURTHER ACTION. A REPEAT VISIT TO THE DEALER HAD THEM SAYING THERE WAS LESS THAN FIVE DEGREES DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOT SPOT AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. I USED MY INFRARED THERMOMETER TO PROVE THAT THE SECTION OF THE INTERIOR PANEL IS OVER 130 DEGREES WHEREAS THE SURROUNDING PANEL IS ABOUT 65. YOU CAN SEE THIS IN THE VIDEO I LINK TO BELOW. PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW APRIL 2019. THE START/STOP SYSTEM HAS GIVEN A DASH MESSAGE 4 TIMES. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED BATTERIES AND THE ENTIRE DRIVERS DOOR MECHANISM TRYING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A BRAUNABILTY HANDICAPPED CONVERSION AND IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE VEHICLE STOP AND START AS NEEDED. IT CANNOT STOP AND NOT START IN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. IT ALSO HAS A SLIDING DOOR PROBLEM THAT HAS FAILED AND STRANDED THE HANDICAPPED PERSON. THIRD SITUATION IS THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES FAILED, HOWEVER THE COMPUTER ON THE VEHICLE INDICATED NO PROBLEM. VEHICLE EXHIBITED "UNINTENDED ACCELERATION"; THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN WHILE MAKING A SLOW (10 MPH) LEFT HAND TURN. VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD AND ACCELERATED. ACCELERATION LASTED FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER I APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT DID STOP ACCELERATING AT THAT POINT. I WAS ABLE TO STOP JUST SHORT OF A PARKED CAR I WAS TRYING TO PARK BEHIND. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE OR SINCE THE INCIDENT. NOTE: I AM AN EX POWERTRAIN CALIBRATION ENGINEER SO I KNOW UNINTENDED ACCELERATION FROM MY PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT. ALSO, MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS PEDAL WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. AND THERE WAS NO FLOOR MAT INTERFERENCE (PEDAL PHYSICALLY CAN'T REACH THE FLOOR).

CAME TO FULL STOP AT A LIGHT ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME AND ONE CARE BEHIND. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER STOPPING FOR THE LIGHT, THE ENGINE STOPPED, THE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHED THE LIGHT UNDER "D" AND THE GAUGE CLUSTER FLASHED MULTIPLE LIGHTS. I CAN ONLY REMEMBER SEEING FWC OR FCW FLASHING BUT THERE WERE OTHER LIGHTS. AUTO START/STOP WAS NOT DISABLED SO I WAS INITIALLY NOT SURPRISED BY THE ENGINE STOPPING AT A LIGHT. TO RESTART, I HAD TO PLACE TRANSMISSION BACK IN "P", HOLD THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE IGNITION. I THEN, DESPITE HAVING OUR SEAT BELTS ON, HAD TO DISENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE BY PUSHING THE BUTTON. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED IN "D". ONCE WE RETURNED HOME, THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT OPERATE. WE HAD TO OPEN IT MANUALLY TO GET MY SON OUT. THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WORKED LIKE IT SHOULD. BOTH THESE THINGS HAVE HAPPENED TO MY WIFE (THE PRIMARY DRIVER) SEVERAL TIMES AND REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP. IN MOTION ON STREETS AND FREEWAY THE STEREO GOES BLACK RANDOMLY AND WILL NOT TURN BACK ON, RADIO ALSO WILL RANDOMLY JUMP FROM MULTIPLE STATIONS INCLUDING AM/FM, CARPLAY, ETC. WHILE DRIVING. 3). IN MOTION DRIVING ON CITY STREETS THE VEHICLE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM KICKED IN WHILE PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND STOPPED VEHICLE DEAD IN ITS TRACKS WITH 3 CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. THERE HAVE BEEN NO MAP UPDATES TO THE BUILT-IN GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN TWO YEARS. WITH CONSTANTLY CHANGING ROADS, REGULAR MAP UPDATES ARE VITAL. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 10/29/18 AND ITS BEEN A GREAT VEHICLE TIL ABOUT JULY 2019. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO FIX A CLICKING NOISE IN THE FRONT LEFT SIDE AND EVERYTIME THEY CHANGE A BUNCH OF PARTS BUT DONT FIX IT. NOW ITS A LOUD SQUEEKING NOISE EVERYTIME I BACK OUT MY DRIVEWAY OR PULL OFF IN DRIVE. IVE TAKEN 3 TIMES AND THEY CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS. IVE HAVE TO RENT A VEHICLE AND THE DEALER ALSO LET ME USE A 2 DOOR LOANER KNOWING I HAVE 4 KIDS. THEY KEEP SAYING BRING IT BACK MONDAY. WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY DURING POURING RAIN, WITH WIPERS ON HIGH AND HEAD LIGHTS ON, DASH AND TOUCH SCREEN WENT OFF/BLACK FOR UP TO 15 MINUTES THEN TURNED BACK ON AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT WAS MODIFIED WITH A SIDE ENTRY RAMP; HOWEVER, THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR AND RAMP MALFUNCTIONED SEVERAL TIMES AND FAILED TO OPEN. DURING THE RECENT FAILURE, THE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN AND FELL OFF. THE DOOR FELL OFF TWICE AND WAS DAMAGED. MOBILITYWORKS 2(727 ST JOHNS BLUFF RD S, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32246) STATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE AND WANTED TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SLIDING DOOR (BRAUN ABILITY) CHECKED WITH THEIR CHAIN OF COMMAND AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. COMING HOME FROM CHURCH, A NEIGHBOR WAS OUT WASHING HIS CAR, AS HE MOVED TOWARD THE ROAD I BEGAN TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE ENGINE SPED UP TO A HIGHER SPEED. AFTER I STOPPED THE CAR, I LOOKED DOWN TO SEE MY RIGHT SHOE WAS ON BOTH PEDALS. THIS HAD HAPPENED THREE TIMES BEFORE. MY SON WENT OUT AND CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID AND FOUND IT AT THE MINIMUM LEVEL. HE TOPPED IT OFF TO THE MAXIMUM LEVEL. MY SON BELIEVES THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. BUT REPORTING IT MIGHT BE BETTER FOR OTHERS. SINCE I HAD TAKEN IT INTO CHRYSLER A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND THEY SAID THEY HAD PREFORMED A 32 POINT SAFETY INSPECTION, I DID NOT SEE HOW THE COULD HAVE MISSED THE LOW BRAKE FLUID, OR HAVE NOT TOPPED IT OFF. IT SEEMS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS UP HIGHER THAN THE GAS PEDAL BY SEVERAL INCHES WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED, BUT AFTER SEVERAL MILES - MORE THAN 11 MILES - IT LOSES THE HEIGHT IT STARTED WITH. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT LESS THAN 20 MPH ON A SUBDIVISION STREET. THIS HAD HAPPENED THREE TIMES BEFORE, WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING PLACE OR DRIVEWAY, MOVING AT LOW SPEED. EACH TIM AFTER HAVING DRIVEN A LONGER DISTANCE THAN NORMAL. OVER 11 MILES. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD GONE LOWER TO THE FLOOR AND WAS AT OR BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE GAS PEDAL. IF THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED, THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL ARE MUCH TOO CLOSE TOGETHER, ONLY 3 INCHES BETWEEN THEM, AND THIS IS THEN A PROBLEM.

WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS UNTIL ROAD CONSTRUCTION SLOWED EVERYTHING DOWN TO STOP-AND-GO. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF THIS, WE WERE ABOUT TO GO AGAIN AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED. NOTHING WAS WORKING. THE ENGINE START/STOP FEATURE OF THIS VAN IS FAULTY AND CHRYSLER KNOWS IT. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE THEY CANNOT PLACE A RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS NOT LIMITED TO MY PERSONAL VAN. OUR PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 13,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT 5 TIMES. 3 FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WE HAVE STALLED OUT IN INTERSECTIONS 4 TIMES. WHILE DRIVING MY 2018 PACIFICA IN 45 MPH TRAFFIC ON A LOCAL ROAD, THE CAR FLASHED 'STABILITY CONTROL' AND LOST ALL POWER. THE BRAKES WENT HARD, THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED. THE DISPLAY READ 'STABILITY CONTROL' THEN DISAPPEARED FROM THE SCREEN AND IT INSTRUCTED ME TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND TO RESTART THE CAR. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT MIGHT HAVE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000.

THE RECALLS ARE FOR A MANUAL PARK RELEASE AND THE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS IS VERY ALARMING AND VERY DANGEROUS. WHILE DRIVING OUR 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA ON I-95 SOUTH IN NH, TRAFFIC CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP AND WE REAR-ENDED A JEEP WRANGLER AT APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MPH. I BRAKED FOR ABOUT 20 FT AND STRUCK THE JEEP. OUR AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY BURST INTO FLAMES UPON IMPACT. THE FLAMES WERE SO IMMEDIATE AND SO VIOLENT THAT MY WIFE AND I ONLY HAD TIME TO REMOVE OUR YOUNG DAUGHTERS FROM THE MIDDLE ROW OF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS IN A PARKING LOT. THIS BECAME AN ENTIRELY NEW CONCERN WHEN THIS STARTED HAPPENING WHILE I'M DRIVING. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR, AND I'M PREGNANT. I JUST DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING AND THIS IS OUR MAIN VEHICLE, SO WE DON'T HAVE MUCH OF A CHOICE.
