Purchased this car 3 yrs a go about 2 weeks ago the airbag light remains on constantly the car was parked but remains on constantly. The car has 107K I search for recall on this site and nothing even though there are over 485 complaints for the same issue. What does it take to get this NOTICED by MOPAR this is obviously a safety hazard. I bet if one of MOPAR's dependents was driving a 2013 Dodge Avenger they would get it fixed TODAY for free via a recall are you listening MOPAR??? I am sure you read these complaints. I will contact a Chrysler dealer in the area and see if they will do the right thing and fix this safety issue for free but after reading all these complaints looks like a losing battle. MOPAR is you want to have customers buy your cars do the right thing a get a recall out on this airbag issue.

WHEN I START MY CAR WHICH IS STATIONARY THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON & DINGS (LIKE THE SEATBELT WARNING) IT DINGS LIKE 2 TIMES. THEN AS I DRIVE ON CITY STREETS & HIGHWAYS, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THE LIGHT WILL COME ON & GO OFF RANDOMLY. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, HOWEVER IT DOES HAPPEN WAY MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. AND I'M AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY & THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS. Put gear shift into park position while parking car. Car did not register that it was supposed to be in park and stayed in drive. Gear was stuck and was unable to shift. Turned car off and car would not turn back on, as well as the shifter not being able to move

Drivers side blows hot air but passenger side is cold. Had clicking noise coming from glove box and discovered bad blend door actuator. Replaced blend door and clicking went away but still no hot air on passenger side. Defrost struggles to defrost windshield which is a safety issue. I have read numerous complaints on here as well as the internet about people having the same issue yet dodge won’t issue a recall to fix this issue.

On May 10, 2024 my passenger headrest deployed on its own. I went to work, came back to my car for lunch and heard a pop and saw my passenger headrest deployed. No accident, no one hit my car, just my car parked. I did some research and found a recall for my make and model. I contacted the dealership that I bought the car and was told there's no recall and my problem is mechanical. I contacted another dealership and they couldn't find the recall, but was willing to set up an appointment. I took my car to the dealership and was told, yes there was a recall, but the headrests were fixed. They also stated my car was out of warranty so the repair would be at my expense. The headrests are obviously a continuous problem. I am now concerned that my headrest could pop while I am driving and result in injury to my head and neck. I am concerned that I could end up getting into a accident or even die from an unexpected deployment that possibly cause a blackout or concussion. I zip tied my headrests since dealerships are refusing to fix the problem for free. They even told me to contact you. Please help me.

The passenger did not receive medical attention. The contact stated that the plastic inside the headrest bent the bar, causing the headrest to deploy. The vehicle was not repaired. The AHR in the drivers side headrest of my 2013 Dodge Avenger randomly deployed and will not reset. I believe it to have a common defect in that, under normal conditions, the AHR can deploy without any warning and strike the back of the occupant’s head. This condition is caused because the AHR contains a “cheap” plastic bracket that acts as a trigger mechanism and holds the spring loaded release in place, the drivers state. Chrysler used an inferior and inexpensive form of plastic which can crack and break down prematurely. There are hundreds of thousands of Chrysler vehicles equipped with the defective AHR and there is no way of knowing when the AHR in the headrest will spring forward. According to a the Chrysler class action, the following vehicles contain the AHR defect: 2010-2018 Dodge Journey; 2010-2011 Dodge Nitro; 2010-2012 Jeep Liberty; 2010-2017 Jeep Patriot or Compass; 2010-2012 Dodge Caliber; 2010-2018 Dodge Caravan; 2011-2018 Dodge Ram C/V 2011-2018 Dodge Durango; 2011-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee; 2010-2014 Sebring/Avenger; 2011-2018 Chrysler Town & Country; 2011-2018 Chrysler 200; and 2011-2018 Chrysler 300. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation in September 2019 called “Active Headrest Inadvertent Deployment,” where the government organization reviews consumer reports of inadvertent deployment of the AHRs, according to the Chrysler class action lawsuit. I maintain that Chrysler has known about the defects since 2010 but did not provide this information to the public. The Larry H Miller dodge in centennial co is telling me after having my car for over a week they aren’t responsible for this and won’t cover the repair.

Sensor fail to indicate car was overheating. Car shut off in the middle of highway with no indication. No warning that the vehicle was going to shut down. Vehicle is brought into the dealership this is what they stated on the order.T. CHECK AND ADVISE found vehicle has no compression. further diagnosis found when adding water to coolant system, cylinders # 2 and 3 filled up with water and water poured out between cylinder head and block. head and block are warped beyond repair. needs engine Yes over 50 times No warning sign Vehicle just shut off in the middle of the highway. When I review this incident on line you have several complaints stating that it’s been an ongoing issues with this making model car.

Engine stalls when driving without warning due to a faulty Totally integrated power module which also causes a host of other electrical failures such as headlights not turning off, passenger window not rowing down, heat only working on high setting, windshield wipers going haywire, radio volume disappearing off the display and not working then reappearing and a total power dim and then surge while driving. This is the most dangerous car I’ve ever been in, and I’m disgusted to see that NHTSA already knows about these faulty units and Chrysler has already had lawsuits and recalls on these TIPM units in the Cherokees and Durangos.

On Monday, July 19, 2021, the car started randomly blowing the horn while I was driving to work. When I arrived in my parking garage and turned the car off, the alarm system started going crazy with flashers and horn going off like mad. It only stopped when I opened the hood and slammed it shut - not really sure that's what stopped it, but I didn't know what else to do. Random horn beeping continued on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, no horn beeping, but the MOTOR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE BALTIMORE BELTWAY. I was lucky to be able to get the car off the road and onto the shoulder. I'm now afraid to drive it. Car has been at the mechanic all day Thursday, July 22 and today, Friday 23, 2021. The mechanic recommended I take the car to the dealer, but I was advised by the dealer that the part (the TIPM) is no longer available through Mopar. So now the mechanic is trying to figure out what to do.

THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHILE IT IS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND CONTINUES WHILE I AM DRIVING. WHEN I'M DRIVING AND MY WINDOW GETS FOGGY FROM ME BEING IN IT I HAVE NO WAY OF FIXING CAUSING ME TO SEE THROUGH A FOG. I HAVE HAD THE HEATER CORE REPLACED, AND IT HAS BEEN FLUSHED OUT. THIS ONLY FIXES THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW MONTHS, BUT BY THE TIME IT GETS COLD AGAIN IT HAPPENS ALL OVER.

Beginning in September 2023, my parking brake light would periodically light up even when the parking brake was not engaged. At the time, I didn't think much of it. This persisted until the middle of January 2024. Beginning in mid January 2024, my parking brake light, traction control light, and ABS light were all lit up on my dashboard. I took my vehicle into my mechanic on January 30, 2024 and they diagnosed it as an ABS internal module failure. They said they were unable to make the repair and said that I would need to take it into a Dodge dealership. I then took it to my local Dodge dealership on February 2, 2024 and they also diagnosed the problem as an ABS internal module failure. The dealership told me that the particular module needed was under "Engineer Review" at Chrysler. They said that any ABS module currently on the market for my vehicle were considered "defective" and that I would need to wait for the Engineer Review to be completed in order to receive a new, correctly working ABS module. I was told by both my regular mechanic, as well as the dealership, that my car was dangerous to drive in its current condition. I was told by both the dealership and a Dodge customer service representative that this Engineer Review would be completed in April 2024. It is now June 10, 2024 and the Review still has not been completed and I am still without a working ABS module for my vehicle. I am unwilling to put my safety, my child's safety, and the safety of other drivers at risk by continuing to drive a dangerous vehicle. Because of this, I have not been able to drive my vehicle since the beginning of February. After continuous calls and emails to Dodge, I was told the Review would be completed between 4/20/24-4/25/24. I later found out this estimated completion date was incorrect. I have been given no new timeline of when this Engineer Review is to be completed and when I will be receiving a new part.

MY BRAKE PEDAL IS GOING ON DOWN AND MAKING A NOISE AFTER I PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP. THERE ARE NOR EVER HAS A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. A SUGGESTION WAS MY MADTER CYLINDER MAY BE BAD. I AM GOING TO HAVE IT REPLACED BY MY SON. I CAN'T AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER. THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS BUT HAD GOTTEN WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND WAS TOWED TO KEN GARFF WEST VALLEY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT (LOCATED AT 4175 W 3500 S, WEST VALLEY CITY, UT 84120, (844) 353-7052). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

THE "CHECK BRAKE" INDICATOR LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE EVEN AFTER WE GOT THE "OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) RECALL FIXED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE OCR WAS CONNECTED TO THE BRAKE SYSTEM IN TURN MAKING THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATE, AND IT WOULD GO OFF AFTER YOU DRIVE A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES. AFTER MANY MONTHS THIS PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATING EITHER WHILE DRIVING - ON EITHER CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY OR WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR WHEN IT WAS IN PARK. WE TOOK IT BACK TO HENDRICK DODGE IN CHARLOTTE, NC TO ULTIMATELY BE TOLD THAT WE NEED A MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER THAT COST $782.10. THIS CAR ONLY HAD 41,941 MILES ON IT AND ALL SERVICES WERE KEPT UP. THE SERVICE ADVISOR THEN TOLD US THAT THIS WAS DUE TO A "BRAKE BOOSTER WATER SHEILD DEFECT". After backing out of the driveway in Reverse, I attempted to shift the car into Drive. However, the car kept moving backwards. I then shifted it into Park. At that point, I was not able to get the car back out of Park, yet I was able to push it forward and backward as if it was in neutral. I did some research and found a recall on similar car, the 2013 Dodge Dart: 2013 DODGE DART Report Date: April 11, 2019 Campaign Number: 19V293000 Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission. Consequence Summary: If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Summary: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V34.

I KNOW IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION PUMP ON MY 62TE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME MY WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED AND I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS 75000 MILES HOW COULD THIS BE. I was driving my car and the active headrests on the driver side and passenger side both deployed prematurely. I wasn't in any collisions and the headrests deployed. It was very unexpected when they went off as i was driving to school it put both my safety and my sisters safety at risk when they deployed. As stated previously i am unsure as to why they went off as i was never involved in any collisions. There were no warning lamps or any messages prior to them deploying.

The headrest in front passenger side made a loud noise and opened. It's scared me, because I had no clue what the noise was from at the time. It was night time and all I can say is thank God no other cars were near me...I probably would have wrecked. I'm very thankful that my son was not sitting there when it happened. There were no lights or warnings and I never knew that could happen let alone know the headrests could pop open. The vehicle has not been looked at our inspected. I seen there was a recall on this but after entering my Vin, it says this car has no active recalls.

Window Defrost and Passenger Heat /Air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin.

The heat on the passenger does not work at all I was driving and the frost kept coming back on the windshield I almost had a wreck with another vehicle. The way the sunshine hit the frost on the windshield it shined to bright for me to see. How is this safe? I have seen where many people are having this issue online. It just blows cold air on the passenger side vents. No police were involved but I could’ve ended up in the hospital all because of a little part that won’t get recalled.

PASSENGER SIDE HEAT IS INOP RESULTING IN WINDSHIELD FOGGING OVER WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSING AN ISSUE SEEING THE ROAD AS THE ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM IS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN PROPER CLIMATE CONTROL. THIS HAPPENS EVERY WINTER, AND WHENEVER IT RAINS. THIS IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM IN HIGHWAY, AND CITY TRAFFIC RESULTING IN NEAR ACCIDENTS. I'VE HAD THIS CARS SYSTEM FLUSHED AND THAT IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AS STATED FROM MECHANICS.

WE COULDN'T PASS AND LUCKILY THERE WASN'T AN ACCIDENT! ANOTHER TIME AT A STOP SIGN, HE ACCELERATED AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE COULD ONLY GO 20 MPH, THANK GOD NO CARS WERE COMING!! WELL, SEEING THAT THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE RADIATOR I WAS ALSO A LITTLE CONFUSED AS TOO WHY YOU WOULD WANT CONSUMERS TO HAVE TO SPEND 100.00 FOR JUST THE PART , IF THEY ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE PARKED AND FIND IT, BUT IF THEY ARE UNLUCKY LIKE MYSELF THEN THEY ALSO RECEIVE A TOW BILL ON TOP OF THAT. SEEMS TO ME THAT IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN REDIESIGNED. I'M NOT SURE IF THE TWO ISSUES ARE RELATED AT ALL, BUT I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND GOTTEN VARIOUS PARTS REPLACED TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS. AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALLS FOR 2013 DODGE AVENGERS FOR AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE STALLING, BUT FOR SOME REASON MY 2013 DODGE AVENGER IS NOT INCLUDED--EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SAY HOW DANGEROUS IT IS FOR ONE'S ENGINE TO STALL OUT ON A HIGHWAY. MY HUSBAND ALMOST GOT HIT BY AN 18-WHEELER AS THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE HE WAS DRIVING IN FRONT OF IT. 2 days after purchasing my vehicle I was driving getting my speed up approximately 45 mph when the vehicle started to lunge forward and nothing was under the gas pedal and it stalled. I pulled it over to the side of the road. It started back up within 2 to 3 minutes. Drove fine for about another 20-25 minutes and then did it again. I put fuel treatment in it. It seemed to drive better the next day but then I did it again. I had it towed to a service department where they did a complete vehicle inspection- no codes were thrown $2500 later- picked up vehicle and later that evening it starts blowing smoke out from under the dash- Towed back to Service department- $300 later- pick car up and she breaks down within 10 minutes- TOWED AGAIN- ,$450 later ---- the vehicle loses all connection and stalls while going 45 to 70 mph- without warning - on the interstate- UNSAFE for EVERYONE on the road not just the dumb owner. WHY IS MY VIN NUMBER NOT ASSOCIATED TO ANY OF THE 5 RECALLS? 3 OF WHICH ARE DEALING WITH THE EXACT ISSUES I AM HAVING!!! I have spent every last penny I have on this and still ... Safety Hazard

There are days the car will not start. The engine will try and turn over but never starts. (2) There have been several times while driving the car that the car will just turn off while driving. The car is very difficult to steer to pull it off the road for safety. The car will leave me stranded for at least an hour before it will start again. (3) The heat on the passenger side only blows out cold air. There is no heat on that side. (4) The car will start clicking in the dashboard for no apparent reason. This is baffling cause I have no idea what it is or what it is trying to do.

I urgently need your assistance regarding a critical and unsafe situation concerning the PCM/ECU. Recently, while driving, my car began to shudder as if it was on the verge of stalling. To add to the alarming situation, every warning light on the dashboard illuminated. The speedometer and thermostat suddenly stopped functioning, leaving me without crucial information about the vehicle's speed and temperature. This not only compromised my safety but also made it impossible to gauge the car's performance. In response to this hazardous scenario, I immediately pulled over to a stop. Sadly, the car shut off, and despite my attempts, it has refused to restart ever since. The inability to restart presents a severe safety issue and has left me stranded without transportation. Compounding this ordeal, several auto shops have tried to address the PCM/ECU connectivity issues with no success. This recurring problem, combined with the recent dangerous episode on the road, underscores the urgency for resolution. I am deeply concerned about the potential risks posed by the malfunctioning PCM/ECU and the compromised safety of both myself and others on the road. The inability to accurately monitor speed and temperature could have dire consequences if left unaddressed.

ENGINE LOCKED UP WHILE MAKING A TURN AROUND ON BUSY HIGHWAY. MADE COMPLETE CAR'S STEERING TO BE LOCKED UP. LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND OTHER CAR DID NOT SLAM INTO ME. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS TO SPEED UP AND IT WAS AS THOUGH MY CAR WAS NOT RUNNING AT ALL. NOTHING HAPPENED. The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and then stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted and was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced and a tune-up needed to be performed. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who performed the tune-up and replaced the fuel pump; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 AND THEN THE CAR HAD NO POWER. WHEN I GAVE IT GAS IT WOULD NOT GO. IT DROPPED TO ABOUT 10 MPH. THE RED FLASHING ETC AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VERY SCARY. I COULD NOT MOVE OUT OF ANYONE WAY IF I HAD TO.

A FEW WEEKS AGO I WAS TURNING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE WHEN MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT WENT ON. THE CAR LOST POWER BUT AFTER I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PETAL THE LIGHT TURNED OFF AND I GOT POWER BACK TO THE CAR. TOOK IT TO GET THE COMPUTER ON BUT NO CODES CAME BACK. TONIGHT I WAS MERGING INTO THE HIGHWAY WHEN ETC THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. THE CAR LOST POWER AND I COULDN'T GO FASTER THEN 50MPH. I GOT BACK TO THE HOUSE TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON AND NO LIGHTS ARE ON. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. IF THE LIGHTS AREN'T ON THE COMPUTER WON'T PICK UP ANY ERROR CODES. A COUPLE YEARS AFTER I GOT MY CAR IT WOULD SHUT DOWN WHEN I WOULD COME TO STOP SIGNS AND NO MECHANICS COULD TELL ME WHY. NO LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. IT HAD SHUT DOWN ON THE FREEWAY BEFORE AND LET THE POWER SLOWLY DIE DOWN UNTIL THE CAR TURNED OFF. THAT TIME THE CAR ACTUALLY HAD A LIGHT WHEN I TRIED TURNING IT BACK ON. I ESSENTIALLY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE WITHIN A YEAR. THE CAR WOULD OVERHEAT AT TIMES BUT NO LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF SO I JUST COULD LET THE CAR COOL DOWN AND LET THE OVERHEATING STOP. FAST FORWARD TO REPLACING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION AND MY CAR IS NOW IDLING HIGH EVEN WITHOUT THE GAS BEING TOUCHED. ON THE FREEWAY IT WILL GO TO AS HIGH AS 4000RPMS NOW AND IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO STOP WORKING AGAIN. FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS MY HORN GOES OFF ON ITS OWN. SOMETIMES IT GOES OFF WHEN I LOCK MY CAR, OTHER TIMES IT DOES NOT. IT WILL SOMETIMES CLICK, AND OTHER TIMES IT WILL BLARE FOR 5 SECONDS. IT IS VERY STARTLING ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC OR SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT. ONCE I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN, AND IT WENT OFF FOR ABOUT 8 SECONDS AND AT THE SAME TIME MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED TO STALL AND NOT WORK PROPERLY. MY CAR BEGAN CLICKING, APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS AT A TIME, LATE WINTER EARLY SPRING 2018-2019 WHEN THE HEAT WAS TURNED ON. I CAME TO REALIZE THE CAR DID NOT NEED TO BE RUNNING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. DURING AN OIL CHANGE THE FOLLOWING WEEK I WAS TOLD THE CLICKING HAD TO DO WITH THE VENTS AND HOW COMMON THIS CLICKING WAS AND THAT REPAIR EAS NOT GUARANTEED. AS I AM THE PRIMARY PERSON/OCCUPANT IN MY CAR, I FOUND OUT LATER THE HEAT ONLY PRODUCED WARM AIR. THIS IS MY 1ST TIME OWNING A DODGE AND EVERYDAY MY EXPERIENCES WITH THIS CAR REAFFIRMS I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER. I MAKE IT A POINT TO TELL ANY AND EVERYONE THIS FACT. I HAVE COPIED SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS LOGGED ABOUT THIS AND MY OTHER ISSUE, CAR STALLING WHILE TURNING LEFT TO ENTER THE FREEWAY WITH THROTTLE INDICATOR. HAD I KNOWN HOW UNRESPONSIVE DODGE IS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS BY PUTTING THEIR PROFIT OVER OUR COST OF REPAIRS... AGAIN, I TELL EVERYONE WHAT THEY ARE LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE IF THEY PURCHASE THE AVENGER. THE HEAD GASKET FAILED AND WAS REPLACED DESPITE PROTESTATIONS FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I LEARNED THE HEAD GASKET HAD A DESIGN FLAW CAUSING IT TO FAIL PREMATURELY. CATALYTIC CONVERTER RECALLED, DEALERSHIP ADVISED IT WAS UNKNOWN WHEN IT WOULD REPAIRED. RECALL ADVISED DELAY COULD DAMAGE ENGINE. FINALLY REPAIRED AFTER COMPLAINT TO DEALERSHIP GM. VEHICLE IS MAKING NOISES AND LOSING POWER SUDDENLY, THEN SUDDEN INCREASE OF RPM WHILE DRIVING. SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER COULD CAUSE CRASH IN TRAFFIC, SAME WITH SUDDEN RPM INCREASE. FAN WIRING HARNESS RECALLED, DEALERSHIP ADVISED OF FAILURE TO FAN WHEN TAKEN IN FOR HEADGASKET, NOTHING DONE. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS MADE WITH DODGE HQ.

I'VE HAD A FEW ISSUES RECENTLY WITH MY 2013 DODGE AVENGER OVER THE PAST YEAR. WHEN MY CHANGE OIL WARNING INDICATOR COMES ON, SOME OF MY WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS RANDOMLY COME ON AS WELL. THE FIRST FEW TIMES MY AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND STAY ON. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR FOR THE OIL CHANGE I ASKED THEM CHECK THE AIRBAGS BUT THERE WAS NOTHING INDICATING A PROBLEM AND ONCE THE OIL WAS CHANGED THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND STAY OFF. THE NEXT TIME IT WAS THE ABS & THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM; I GOT THE OIL CHANGED THEY CHECKED, NOTHING WAS FOUND AGAIN. BEFORE THIS LAST TIME, MY OIL WARNING CAME ON ALONG WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT, AS IF THE BRAKE WAS UP AND IT STAYED ON EVEN WHEN I DROVE, AGAIN NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. LAST NIGHT (5/09/18) CHANGE OIL WARNING INDICATOR CAME ON. THIS MORNING (5/10/18) I STARTED MY CAR (AUTOMATIC CAR STARTER) WENT OUT TO MY CAR AND MY TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT AND MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WERE LIT. I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, HOWEVER THE CAR WOULDN'T SHUT OFF RIGHT AWAY. WHEN I RESTARTED MY CAR THE LIGHT INDICATORS WERE GONE. BUT WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IF I WERE TO STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN MY CAR WOULD IDLE AND FEEL AS THOUGH IT WAS ABOUT TO SHUT DOWN SO I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK WHILE STOPPED. ALSO WHEN I HAD TO ACCELERATE FROM THE STOP IF I JUST DROVE LIKE NORMAL AND TOOK MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE GAS THE RPM'S WOULD GO TO 7 THEN DROP AND MY CAR WOULD SHAKE. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 75 MPH, MY 2013 AVENGER IMMEDIATELY DROPPED TO 40 MPH. IT FELT LIKE A CAR HAD RE ENDED ME, AFTER DROPPING TO 40, MY CAR LOST ALL POWER. MY RPMS WENT TO 0, AND I HAD NO CONTROL WHILE STEERING. IT LEFT ME STRANDED FOR 45 MINUTES AND SUDDENLY TURNED BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY. ALSO, BEFORE I HAD THE DEALERSHIP DISCONNECT MY HORN, IT WOULD RANDOMLY BLARE. SITTING IN TRAFFIC AND IT WOULD GO OFF. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BEEP ONCE, OTHER TIMES IT WOULD LAST ANYWHERE FROM 2-10 MINUTES. TURNING THE CAR OFF WOULDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, IT WOULD ACTUALLY CONTINUE. THE MECHANICS TOLD ME IT WAS MY TIPM (TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) THAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN, ONLY SEEN IN CHRYSLER MODELS. Both head rest which is attached to airbags or have airbags in them I don’t know but the exploded open. Headrest could have exploded while someone was in the seat and got head injuries. No problem has not been confirmed by anyone but myself,husband and self employed mechanic, I didn’t know what to do. No, no type of warning before it happen. Passenger one exploded January 2025, driver exploded about May 2025.

The TIPM failed causing the car to shut off and not start again. The problem has been confirmed by Upstate Auto. There was a recall on the TIPM but it was not replaced instead some occupant restraints were replaced instead and now the manufacturer does not make the TIPM part anymore.

Recently bought the car about two months ago and ever since I’ve had it, it was randomly cut off anywhere and anytime and when it cuts off the power steering goes out and it makes it hard to control but I had mechanics that I know personally look at it, and they cannot figure it out no one can figure it out And also the control valve for putting the gas in the car is messed up and I seen that there was a recall for that and as I’m riding down the road, the horn just blows out of nowhere consistently and it could also scare you while you’re driving and that’s dangerous and thank you

The throttle body system keeps failing and causing my ETC light to come on. This causes the car to lose speed and almost stalling while driving. Thus happens out if no where and while driving the car will automatically slow down on it own and won't let me accelerate which is very dangerous when driving on the highway or trying to make a turn and your car stops accelerating. I have had the throttle body replaced multiple times and it never resolves the issue.

Under the hood there’s electric tape holding wires together. Which is illegal. The check engine light came on since I got the car. ON APR 11,2021 I WAS DRIVING AROUND 35-40 MPH AND MY HOOD CAME FLYING UP IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE CALL CHRYSLER AND THEY SENT OUT INSPECTOR RON MARNESE, WHO INSPECTED THE CAR AND FOUND THE SECONDARY LATCH WAS NOT WORKING. CHRYSLER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX MY CAR DUE TO IT BEING OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL. INSPECTOR HAD TOLD ME THAT HE THOUGHT THAT ENGINEERING WOULD WANT THE LATCH AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD GET REPAIRED BY THEM DUE TO THE CAR BEING IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. HERE WE ARE IN DECEMBER OF 2018, I JUST HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE CONTROL ,$360.00, AND NOW I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER, 28 ,2018, TO GET THE AXLE SEAL, RIGHT SIDE, AND THE TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER PIPES, INLET AND RETURN REPLACED , COST $164.20, AND $364.29 RESPECTIVELY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 24,241 MILES ON IT, I HAVE ALL THE OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION RECORDS, ALL IS UP TO DATE AND WERE ALWAYS DONE ROUTINELY. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF THIS VEHICLE AND AM FRUSTRATED WITH THESE ISSUES. I HAVE ALSO READ UP ON OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM AVENGER OWNERS. DODGE NEEDS TO RESPOND TO THESE PROBLEMS. MY VEHICLE STALLED, STARTED SHAKING, SHUT DOWN AND LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE FOLLOWING THREE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON; 1) MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL); 2) ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC); AND 3) ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC). I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR SEEMS TO STALL WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND TAKE OFF IS SLOW. IT TAKES ME SEVERAL BLOCKS TO JUST REACH 30 MPH. THE CAR ALSO FEELS AS IF IT IS LUNGING BUT RESUMES A SLOW PACE. TAKE OFF IS EXTREMELY SLOW WHEN I STOP FOR TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THE ENGINE SEEMS TO LOSE PRESSURE. THE CAR WILL REV AND ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN EVEN WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PRESSED. MY CAR STARTED SPUTTERING IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR REVVED UP LIKE I WAS PRESSING ON THE GAS. THEN YESTERDAY I EXPERIENCED IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER IN THE VEHICLE & THE INABILITY TO INCREASE SPEED, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLE SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 10 - 20 MPH. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS FAULTY PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY!!!!! MY LIFE MATTERS AND SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE'S LIFE AND THOSE OF THEIR FAMILY!!!! I PURCHASED MY DODGE AVENGER BRAND NEW IN 2013. AFTER TWO YEARS OF HAVING MY CAR, MY CAR STARTED TO NOT WANT TO TURN ON. I WOULD CONTINUE TO TRY AND SOMETIMES IT WOULD WORK AND NOT OTHER TIMES. DEALERSHIP DID TRAN OVERHAUL. 7/29 AGAIN! ON FREEWAY COMPLETE SHUT DOWN OF ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL AND COASTED OFF FREEWAY RAMP. GLAD WE DID NOT GET KILLED. DEALERSHIP SAID FIXED ISSUE. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR OPERATOR HOSE AND HEATER CORE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE COOLANT NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED AND THE EVAC SYSTEM RECHARGED. I BOUGHT THE 2013 DODGE AVENGER IN JAN. 2013. MARCH 2013 CAME AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD START WIPING DO TO THE OVER CAST AND SHADOWS. WHEN I TOOK IT TO DODGE THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE IT WASN'T HAPPENING THEN IN FRONT OF THEM. THEN AT 7500 MILES IN JULY 2013 MY BRAKES STARTED MAKING LOUD NOISES. AT FIRST IT WAS ONLY WHEN I BACKED UP THEN COME AUGUST IT WAS ALL THE TIME. AFTER 5 VISITS OF SCUFFING THE ROADERS UP THEY SAID IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE EVERYTHING IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM CAUSE THERE WAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS IN THE 300 MODELS, DARTS, AND AVENGERS. FIRST TRIP TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE WHOLE BRAKE SYSTEM ... BRAKES, ROADERS, AND PADS...(THEY STATED THEIR WAS SCARES IN THE ROADERS AND IT SHOULDN'T OF BEEN THAT WAY WITH ONLY 7500 MILES) TO THE FRONT AND REAR . THEY ALSO STATED THEY LEFT MY ACCOUNT OPEN INCASE THAT DIDN'T WORK. HOWEVER THAT WAS A LIE THEY ONLY DID THE REAR AND THAT SAME DAY THE FRONT WAS SO BAD I COULDN'T DRIVE IT. 3 DAYS LATER THEY GOT IT BACK IN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND DID THE WHOLE FRONT SYSTEM OF THE BRAKES. I RECENTLY REPORTED MY VEHICLE ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN UP TO THE SPEED OF 82 MPH ALSO THINKING THAT THIS WAS A WEIRD OCCURRENCE THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I WAS WRONG. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPG GETTING READY TO ENTER A TURN MY CAR AGAIN STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, FOOT OFF THE GAS WAS NOT GOING DOWN HILL OR ANY OTHER REASON TO PICK UP SPEED. ALSO ON THIS SAME DAY I STARTED MY CAR AND MY HEADLIGHTS CAME ON AS THEY SHOULD, I NOTICED MY HIGH BEAMS ON THINKING THEY WERE LEFT ON FROM THE LAST TIME I DROVE MY CAR I TURNED THEM OFF. I PURCHASED MY CAR (SXT V6) 5/2013 FROM JOE CECCONI'S IN NIAGARA FALLS, NY.. I'VE PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2008 AVENGER WITH THE 4 CYL. ENGINE AND I AM A DRIVING ENTHUSIAST. I FELT THE CAR SHIFTING ROUGHLY AND I DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/12/2013 BECAUSE I WAS ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR PULLING HARD TO THE LEFT. THE TECHS ASSURED ME THAT THE CAR WAS ONLY "LEARNING HOW I DRIVE" AND I EXPLAINED THAT MY 2008 DID THE SAME THING. FOR THE PULLING, THEY DID AN ALIGNMENT. WHEN I PICKED THE CAR UP, I DROVE IT AND IT WAS ABOUT 2 WEEKS (10/31/2013) BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT BACK IN DUE TO THE SAME ISSUES; PULLING, SHAKING AND A HARD SHIFTING TRANSMISSION. THE TECH ONCE AGAIN TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT MY CAR WAS WAY OFF ALIGNMENT...EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RECENTLY SERVICED. AROUND 12/5/2013, I TOOK THE CAR BACK ONCE AGAIN AND I SPOKE TO A TECH AROUND 6PM AND HE TOLD ME THAT CHRYSLER USES "SNOWMOBILE TYPE TRANSMISSIONS" AND THAT THEY WILL ALWAYS SHIFT ROUGHLY, HE EXPLAINED THAT THERE WAS NO FIX. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT SERVICE MY CAR AT THAT TIME OF DAY. ON 12/11/2013 THEY DID A WHEEL ROTATION AND AN ALIGNMENT, THE CAR STOPPED PULLING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, PULLING IS VERY SLIGHT NOW, POSSIBLY DUE TO NEEDING ANOTHER ALIGNMENT NOW. I HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE I WILL ALSO BE TRAVELING IN WHAT SHOULD BE THIRD GEAR SHIFTING TO FOURTH (ATTEMPTING TO PICK UP SPEED QUICKLY, USUALLY THRUWAYS) AND THERE ARE TIMES THAT THE CAR WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED QUICKLY, AS IF IT WAS SITTING IN SIXTH GEAR RATHER THAN THIRD OR FOURTH. THERE WAS A THREE CAR ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED SO WE ALL SLAMMED ON OUR BRAKES TO AVOID FROM HITTING IT. UNFORTUNATELY I HIT THE BACK OF A FLATBED TOW TRUCK GOING BETWEEN 45-50MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE EVAP CANISTER WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,540. UPDATED 5/15/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO THE SIDE, JERK, DRIVE ROUGH/ LOUD, AND HAD A DIFFICULT TIME GAINING SPEED. THE VEHICLE HAD A BAD ODOR (COMPARABLE TO ROTTEN EGGS), AND THE RPMS RISE TO 4,5, OR 6. THE ROTORS, BRAKES, CALIPERS WERE REPLACED.
