I replaced the factory alternator about 2 years back and have had to replace it twice since then. The replacement alternator were not from the manufacturer but were brand new. The battery warning light comes on when it starts to fail and the hot wire leading to the alternator gets extremely hot. Didn't experience this until I had the aftermarket alternator installed.

their is a common problem with the dash light panels going out making it unsafe ,unable to see speedomiter at night ,the repair is to have the whole gauge cluster replaced that also fails

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE SMOKE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE BATTERY POWER WAS DRAINED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER DICK POE DODGE (1363 AIRWAY BOULEVARD EL PASO, TX 79925-2213) WHO DIAGNOSED THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SMART GLASS WINDOW SWITCH FAILED, AND CAUSED THE DRIVER'S DOOR TO FAIL TO OPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL UNKNOWN MECHANICS. THE CONTACT ALSO REPLACED THE SMART SWITCH HIMSELF HOWEVER, THE REPAIRS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE SMART GLASS SWITCH FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE BATTERY TO DRAIN AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS, THE TRUNK, AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN SINCE MARCH OF 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACTED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SMART GLASS SWITCH MANUFACTURER RECALL: M24. THE CONTACT ALSO WANTED TO ADD THAT THE SMART GLASS SWITCH WAS PURCHASE FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER THE PART NUMBER WAS 68064403AF. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,742.

Read an air bag code that is B1CD2 which I think is park of the air bag wiring harness that was recalled on similar models and year but doesn’t seem to have been on mine. I just want to know if this would be part of that recall?

I had the dealership fix a recall (N9C07) for the passenger seat wiring harness connector for the passenger side airbag a while back. My airbag warning lamp turned on recently and my mechanic told me it was that same issue that the recall was supposed to fix. I was told by the dealer that since this was replaced once already, they refused to replace it again. This is a major safety concern if the passenger side airbag does not deploy correctly. It is outrageous that their part is malfunctioning at no fault of my own and they refuse to fix it.

My vehicle was inspected for recall 13V-118, however the part was not replaced and is now having intermittent electrical issues, disconnecting the air bag system. I would like to have the vehicle re-inspected under this same recall and the problem corrected.

ON APRIL 6, 2019, WHILE I WAS DRIVING, MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED SOLID RED, THEN IT WOULD GO OFF AND ON WITH CHIMING SOUND. BECAUSE MY 2011 CHALLENGER IS NOT IN RECALL, DEALER WILL CHARGE UNWARRANTED COST.

THE AUXILIARY FUEL PUMP MODULE DEVELOPED A CRACK AND STARTED LEAKING A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL. THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK HAD A LARGE PUDDLE OF FUEL AND IT WAS RUNNING DOWN ALL SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK AND ON TO THE GROUND. THIS IS A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD. ALSO THERE ARE ACCESS PANELS UNDER THE BACK SEAT AREA OF THE CAR TO REPLACE THE PUMP MODULES. FUMES FROM THE FUEL ENTERED THE CAR FROM THOSE ACCESS POINTS AND MADE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BE INSIDE THE CAR. I FIRST NOTICED THE SMELL AFTER FILLING THE THE FUEL TANK AND WHEN I GOT HOME I NOTICED THE FUEL RUNNING OUT ON TO MY DRIVEWAY.

PASSENGER SIDE AUXILIARY FUEL MODULE LEAKING GASOLINE UNDER REAR SEAT. OLD SEAL REPLACED, BUT UNIT STILL LEAKS GASOLINE WHEN THE TANK IS MORE THAN 3/4 FULL. STARTED LEAKING OVER A YEAR AGO, WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I NOTICED IT AFTER FILLING THE CAR'S GAS TANK AT A LOCAL GAS STATION.

NOTICED FLUID LEAKING IN FRONT OF REAR PASSENGER TIRE.UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND IT TO BE GASOLINE. THEN I LOOKED UNDER THE REAR SEAT AND FOUND A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ACCUMULATED IN THE FUEL PUMP AREA ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED SO THE PUDDLE ON THE GROUND AND UNDER THE SEAT WERE VERY NOTICEABLE. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL!!!

GAS TANK LEAKING AT SEAM WHERE THE TWO HALVES OF THE GAS TANK ARE PUT TOGETHER. THE GAS TANK IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC WHICH IS BY THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WHICH IS VERY HOT AND COULD CAUSE FIRE OR EXPLOSION . MAN AT DEALERSHIP PARTS DEPARTMENT SAID THIS WAS COMMON ,BUT NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED TO DO A RECALL. CAR CAN BE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION AND YOU CAN SMELL GAS INSIDE THE CAR. WHEN CAR IS PARKED YOU CAN ALSO SMELL GAS IN THE TRUNK AND OUTSIDE THE CAR.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle off the highway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a timing chain failure and the contact was informed by the dealer that the part was under warranty. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the failure was part of a Customer Satisfaction Program: P01 however, the vehicle was not under recall. The contact was informed that due to the timing chain failure, the engine was also damaged and would not be covered under the Customer Satisfaction Program. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed to repair the vehicle under Consequential Damages. The contact then called the dealer where he was informed that the repair was denied. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the dealer possession. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the timing chain had fractured and caused damage to the engine. The dealer related the failure to Service Campaign: P01 (Engine Timing Chain and Chain Guide) for which the VIN was included. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced; however, the manufacturer declined the engine replacement due to him not being the original owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and declined the engine replacement. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN CAR LOST POWER AND THEN STOPPED SHUT OFF STEERING WAS THEN HARD AND DIFFICULT TO TURN ON A MAJOR INTERSECTION AND THEN I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE VEHICLE THE STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULTLY WILL CRANK BUT WILL NOT START BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR GAVE UP DIED I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT I JUST HAD TO TAKE IT OVER THERE I HAD TO TOW IT OVER THERE THEN AS I GOT IT THERE THEY SAID THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T TURN ON I TOLD HIM IT WAS BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR WAS NO GOOD AND IT SHUT OFF AND THE STORY BEHIND IT THEY DIDN'T SAY THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME AND THEY'VE HAD IT SINCE THURSDAY TODAY IS NOW SUNDAY THEY SAID THEY CANNOT WORK ON IT UNTIL THEY KNOW FOR SURE THAT IS THE ALTERNATOR I KNOW IT IS I HAD IT CHECKED BEFORE THE ALTERNATOR HAD WENT OUT

MY CHALLENGER IS MAKING A WIERD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. SEE RECALL BELOW CHRYSLER ANNOUNCED THIS MORNING THAT IT WILL BE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR V-6 ENGINES IN CERTAIN 2011-2013 VEHICLES DUE TO CRACKED CYLINDER HEADS ON EARLY VERSIONS OF THE ENGINE ACCORDING TO AUTOMOTIVE NEWS, ROUGHLY 7500 ENGINES BUILT AS THE PENTASTAR V-6 WAS FIRST COMING OUT IN 2012, WERE FOUND TO BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO LEFT-CYLINDER HEAD CRACKS, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN ENGINE FAILURE. CHRYSLER FIRST DISCOVERED THE ISSUE WHEN CUSTOMERS BEGAN COMPLAINING THAT THEIR VEHICLES WERE MAKING TICKING NOISES, STALLING, OR THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS INEXPLICABLY DISPLAYING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR V-6 COMES WITH A 5-YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY, WHICH CHRYSLER WILL BE EXTENDING TO 10-YEARS/150,000 MILES ON THE LEFT-CYLINDER HEAD. THE CRACKED LEFT-CYLINDER HEAD ISSUE POTENTIALLY AFFECTS ABOUT 0.5-PERCENT OF VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.6-LITER V-6. CHRYSLER DETERMINED THAT SUBPAR FUEL ALONG WITH A NUMBER OF DRIVING CONDITIONS CONTRIBUTED TO THE ISSUE. A DESIGN MODIFICATION IN LATE 2012 HAS REPORTEDLY FIXED THE ISSUE IN NEWER VEHICLES. THE 3.6-LITER V-6, THE FIRST OF THE PENTASTAR FAMILY THAT NOW INCLUDES A 3.2-LITER VERSION, COMES STANDARD IN NUMEROUS CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THE 3.6-LITER PENTASTAR IS STANDARD ON THE: CHRYSLER 300, DODGE CHALLENGER, DODGE CHARGER, JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, JEEP WRANGLER, RAM 1500, AND RAM PROMASTER. IT'S OPTIONAL ON BOTH THE PREVIOUS-GENERATION AND CURRENT CHRYSLER 200, AND DODGE AVENGER.

COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. 5.7 HEMI ENGINE SNAPPED #7 PUSH ROD WHILE DRIVING ON I-10 AT NORMAL SPEEDS. ALL MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED REGULARLY WITH NO INDICATION OF THIS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 8500 DOLLARS.

I'M A OWNER OF A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. I'VE NOTICED NOT ONLY ON MY CAR, BUT EVERY DODGE CHALLENGER REACHED A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES, MINES HAS 57,000 MILES AND THERE'S CLICKING SOUND FROM THE DASH WHICH A/C AND HEAT TO STOP WORK. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON FOR THE DODGE CHALLENGER, AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON IT, BECAUSE ITS A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH THE CHALLENGER, AND THE PROBLEM TENDS TO OCCUR AFTER A CERTAIN MILEAGE. I JUST WROTE IN ABOUT THE CLICKING SOUND FROM DASH ONCE IT REACH ABOUT 56,000 MILES. SORRY, BUT I FORGOT TO MENTION. I HAD THE SLIGHTEST CLUE WHAT THE SOUND WAS, OR WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM, SO OF COURSE I GOT ON YOUTUBE TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM JUST TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT JUST ME, AND I WAS VERY GREATLY APPALLED TO THE NUMBER OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE OWNERS OF CHALLENGERS THAT HAD OR HAS THE SAME ISSUE AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE WHAT CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING AND IT'S HIGHLY UNSAFE. THE CLICKING SOUND EVEN OCCURS WHILE DRIVING. I DIDN'T KNOW RATHER THE CAR WAS ABOUT TO EXPLODE OR WHAT, BECAUSE THE CLICKING SOUND IS SO INTENSE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING BACK HOME WHEN I SUDDENLY SAW THE BATTERY LIGHT COME ON. AFTER A FEW SECONDS ALL LIGHTS IN DASH BOARD CAME ON. THEN THE STEERING WHEEL GOT STUCK/LOCKED AND COULDNT STEER LEFT OR RIGHT. THATS WHEN I WAS AFRAID I WOULD GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. BUT IM GLAD I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY SAFELY AND GOT MY CAR TOWED BACK HOME. A BAD SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE BAY AND SAW THE ALT. WAS PRETTY BURNT. I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST SHOP AND GOT MY ALT. REPLACED. NOW ITS JAN. 5 2015 AND THE BATTERY LIGHT STILL COMES ON OCCASIONALLY, I JUST HOPE THE CAR DOESNT SHUT DOWN ON ME AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE I KNOW THAT NEXT TIME I MIGHT NOT BE AS LUCKY AND GET INTO A REALLY BAD ACCIDENT. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 45MPH ABS, EAP/BAS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. PARKED CAR AND WOULD NOT START. NO POWER. TECH CHECKED BATTERY CONNECTION, WAS OK AND TRIED TO DRIVE HOME. DROVE VEHICLE 3 MILES BATTERY LIGHT, ABS, EAP/BAS AND TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN, IDLED ROUGH THEN DASH WENT DARK AND CAR KILLED, STEERING LOCKED. GOT RELATIVE TO PUT ANOTHER BATTERY IN TO DRIVE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP. IS THERE NOW AWAITING DIAGNOSIS BUT ALL THINGS POINT TO BAD ALTERNATOR. VEHICLE 3WEEKS OUT OF WARRANTY WITH 31000 MILES. THE CHARGER HAS HAD ISSUES WITH ALTERNATOR & HAVE SEEN A FEW CHALLENGERS COMPLAINT ON OTHER SITES. DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH, THE ABS AND TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON AT FIRST. ATTEMPTING TO GET HOME WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN EVERYTHING STARTED SHUTTING DOWN; FIRST THE RADIO THEN THE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE DASH BEGAN TO BLINK AND THEN WENT OUT. THE BRAKE PEDAL ON THIS VEHICLE GOES TO THE FLOOR WHEN BRAKING ON GRAVEL ROADS. IT RETURNS FUNCTIONING AFTER PUMPING THE PEDAL. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP IN LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ HAS HAD THE VEHICLE TWICE FOR A WEEK OR TWO AND LAST WEEK TOLD US THAT THESE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN ON DIRT ROADS BECAUSE THE DUST GETS ON THE ABS SENSOR AND CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. THIS CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON THIS SAME ROAD FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAS JUST STARTED DOING THIS IN THE LAST YEAR. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I PAID THEM TO CHANGE THE MASTER CYLINDER ON THE FIRST VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE MASTER CYLINDER IN THE PAST. OF COURSE THIS WAS BEFORE ABS AND CARS BECOMING SO COMPLICATED THAT I CAN NO LONGER WORK ON THEM. CHANGING THE MASTER CYLINDER DID HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE PROBLEM, BUT IT DID NOT CURE IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND I AM CONCERNED THAT DODGE HAS NOT TAKEN THIS PROBLEM AS SERIOUSLY AS THEY SHOULD. THE FIRST CASE NUMBER THAT DODGE GAVE ME WAS 79023033. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO SEND A TECHNICIAN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HELP, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THAT HAPPENED. THE SECOND CASE NUMBER IS 79309555. ON JULY 12, 2012 WHILE DETAILING THE INSIDE OF MY CAR IN ORDER TO REACH SOME AREAS THAT I COULD NOT REACH THROUGH THE TRUNK I WAS PUSHED THE FRONT SEATS FORWARD SO THE REAR SEATS WOULD DROP DOWN BY DESIGN AND WAS IN AN ODD POSITION TO START WITH, AND HAD THE SEAT BELTS ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR PUSHED OUT OF THE WAY. WHILE WORKING ON THE DETAILING THEY SLIPPED AND MANAGED TO WRAP ME UP AROUND MY CHEST AND NECK (IT HAPPENED SO FAST I COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE WAY). AS I STRUGGLED TO FREE MYSELF THEY REFUSED TO RELAX AND CONTINUED TO TIGHTEN UP NO MATTER HOW MUCH (WHAT LITTLE SLACK I HAD TO GIVE) SO THAT I COULD PULL THEM BACK OUT. I BOUGHT MY 2011 CHALLENGER SRT 8 USED WITH JUST OVER 13,000 MILES. I DID A VIN CHECK AND FOUND NO ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I DIDN'T THINK THE REAR END SOUNDED RIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED REAR AXLE DAMPENERS UNDER TSB 01-005-12. THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY CAR FOR 30 DAYS AND WHEN I GOT THE CAR BACK IT SOUNDED ABOUT THE SAME. I CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE WAS VOIDED. My vehicle randomly swerves back and forth when driving. It is very scary and could easily cause an accident and take my life. I’ve taken it to vigo dodge and had 3 different mechanics inspect my car over 5 hours and although they each drove my car and experienced what I’m referring to, they didn’t know what the problem is. I was told to just drive it til it got worse and then maybe they could find the problem. I’m scared to drive my car over 30 mph cause the random swerve could make me lose control or even swerve into oncoming traffic. I desperately need help and don’t know what to do.

THE WINDOWS WOULDN'T GO UP OR DOWN. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE RADIO AND LIGHTS ALL WENT BLACK. ALSO THE CAR CUT OFF COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS DRIVING!!!! ON MAY 30TH I WAS HEADING HOME AFTER A LOG DAYS WORK WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY LIGHT HAD TURNED ON, THINKING IT WAS JUST THE BATTERY NEEDING TO BE RECHARGED I KEPT DRIVING. MINUTES AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE(MIL), BRAKE (PARKING BRAKE?), ABS, ESP BAS, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!? I LOSE MY ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE MY VEHICLE GOING 60 ON THE HIGHWAY! LUCKILY I LIVED 8MIN AWAY FROM MY PLACE AT THE TIME AND MANAGED TO GET TO MY HOME WITH NO POWER STEERING ON BRAKING ABILITY! SO I WENT TO AUTOZONE AND BOUGHT MYSELF A BATTERY BECAUSE IT WAS TESTED AS A BAD BATTERY IT WAS INSTALLED ON MY CAR & IT TURNED ON AS NORMAL, UNTIL I ACTUALLY DROVE MY CAR TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING MORNING, SET IT ON PARK & SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF MY ALTERNATOR. KNOWING HOW MUCH A ALTERNATOR FOR MY CAR COSTS I SAVED ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY A AFTERMARKET ALTERNATOR SO I WENT TO AUTOZONE TO BUY ONE AND THE GENTLEMEN TOLD ME THAT IT GIVES HIM THE OPTION TO ORDER ONE BUT WHEN HE DOES THEY DON'T HAVE ANY BECAUSE SINCE THE CAR IS NEW THE ONLY I COULD GET IS THE MANUFACTURED ALTERNATOR WHICH THEY SELL FOR $545 AND ARE ON BACK ORDER!? REALLY DODGE REALLY? IT TOOK ME A MONTH TO SET ASIDE MONEY FOR WHAT I THOUGHT I COULD BUY A ALTERNATOR AND COME TO FIND OUT YOU'RE THE ONLY ONES THAT SELL IT, SHAME ON YOU GUYS! I'M FATHER A HARD WORKER AND A STUDENT AT UTI AND YOU GUYS DON'T ALLOW ANYONE TO SELL YOUR ALTERNATORS. DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE BEING THAT YOU'RE ON BACK ORDER. THIS COULD'VE ENDED WAY WORSE WHEN I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. PROBLEM IDENTICAL TO PRIOR CUSTOMER COMPLAINT WITH ALL INTERNAL LIGHTS AND GAUGES BLINKING. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING, ENGINE STARTED RACING, SMELLED RUBBER, SPEEDOMETER RACING. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND THE LIGHT SHOW CONTINUED. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR CUT OFF AND NEVER STARTED AGAIN. HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO PICK IT UP AND TAKE TO REPAIR SHOP. REPAIRMAN EXACT WORDS WERE "THE ALTERNATOR IS FRIED AND IT DESTROYED YOUR BATTERY". AFTER A NEW BATTERY WAS PUT IN THE CAR, THE ALTERNATOR STARTED SMOKING. BATTERY/INSTALLATION $250, ALTERNATER/INSTALLATION $750. COULD ONLY GET ALTERNATOR FROM DODGE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THE CAR WAS TOO NEW FOR AN AFTERMARKET ALTERNATOR.... AND WAS ON BACK ORDER. I MAY NOT BE THE SMARTEST SPERSON IN THE WORLD, BUT DOESN'T IT SEEM THAT THERE ARE SOME MAJOR ISSUES GOING ON IF THE SUPPOSEDLY NEW ALTERNATOR IS ON BACKORDER. HAD MY SON AND I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING AND THE CAR CUT OFF, THIS STORY MAY HAVE HAD A DIFFERENT ENDING. I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT DODGE IS NOT WAITING FOR SOMEONE OR SOME FAMILY TO LOSE THEIR LIFE BEFORE MAKING THIS A SAFER VEHICLE. WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, VEHICLE'S ENGINE FAILED AND ALL SYSTEMS WENT DEAD. LUCKILY I HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY AND INTO A SAFE AREA. AFTER BEING TESTED BY MECHANIC, HE SAID THE EDM HAD A STORED FAULT WITH THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR HOWEVER NO CURRENT FAULTS. CAMSHAFT SENSOR WAS STILL REPLACED AND CAR WOULD STILL NOT TURN ON. MECHANIC TOLD ME HE READ SEVERAL STORIES OF ALL WIRE HARNESSES BEING REPLACED AND EVEN EDM BEING REPLACED HOWEVER PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES TO PERSIST. *TR

I WAS RETURNING TO WORK FROM LUNCH AND I WAS DRIVING SOUTH IN THE COMPANY PARKING LOT GOING NO FASTER THAN 5-10 MPH. I STARTED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE SO THAT I COULD BACK INTO THE PARKING SPACE DIRECTLY BEHIND IT. AS I STARTED TO MAKE THE TURN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PLACED IT ON THE BRAKE SO I COULD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE I BACKED UP INTO THE SPACE BEHIND ME. AS I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND BECAUSE I HAD NO TIME TO REACT THE CAR PLOWED THROUGH A TREE, SOME HEAVY VEGETATION AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR, AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT WITH THE TREE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENTIRE BUMPER TO FALL OFF AND DESTROYED. YET, THE AIRBAGS, WHICH WERE RECALLED AND ALREADY "SERVICED" ONCE BEFORE, NEVER DEPLOYED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ACCELERATING TO APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD REMAIN TRAVELING AT THAT SPEED AND WOULD NOT DECELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 25,300 UPDATED 03/26/13*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION'S FAILURE TO SHIFT AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE TIMING CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO MAINTAIN ITS SPEED ON ITS OWN POWER. MY 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER WAS IN A HEAD ON ACCIDENT. THE IMPACT PUSH THE MOTOR UNDER THE DASH, CRACKED THE TRANSMISSION, CRUMBLED THE FRONT OF THE CAR ALMOST TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE CHALLENGER HAS AN AIR BAG ON THE SEAT, WELL THAT AIR BAG; NOR THE AIR BAG ON THE WINDSHIELD PILLAR OR THE STEERING WHEEL OR PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOY. NOT ONLY DID THE AIR BAGS FAIL, BUT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK TO RESTRAIN A PERSON FROM AVOIDING INJURY. THIS IS MY SECOND CHALLENGER, MY FIRST CHALLENGER HAD A BAD PAINT JOB AND THIS ONE COULD OF COST ME MY LIFE. I HAVE THE VEHICLE, AWAITING FOR DODGE TO INSPECTION THE DEFECTS. IT HAS BEEN 5 DAYS AND I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM DODGE NOR ARE MY CALLS BEING RETURNED. *TR

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE.
