Headlight pigtail assembly burned out as described in the 2014 safety recall. 14V-101 / P08 Recall Summary The wiring sub-harnesses for the headlights may overheat, and the low beam headlights may fail. Dealers will replace the headlamp jumper harnesses and bulbs or the headlight assemblies as needed free of charge to resolve the concern.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at 15 MPH, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The driver was able to coast to the side of the roadway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the failure as an alternator diode-thermal fatigue in which the alternator needed to be replaced. The alternator was replaced along with the water pump, caskets, and thermostat. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the vehicle was overheating and was taken to the dealer where the same failure cause was determined, and a thermostat was replaced in January. The contact stated that the paperwork stated that an alternator was not available. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (Electrical System) in March 2018. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to experience overheating failure and the dealer was unable to remedy the failure, causing the water pump and head gasket to fail. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the dealer awaiting the repair. The contact stated that the dealer had the vehicle for months at a time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Had catastrophic engine failure at 100k miles doing 70mph. I believe it was timing chain failure. Replaced the engine with a refurbished engine and now have the exact same problem. It seems like the MDS system is the main cause for this to keep happening so why isn’t this a recall issue. These engines are not cheap to replace

Having lifter failure on 2012 Dodge Charger srt8 6.4 mds hemi Loud ticking noise coming from passenger side head, can be heard in the engine bay but even more so from passenger side wheel well. Complete loss of power or bucking with any real kind of acceleration. No misfires also still idles smooth. Threw back pressure sensor code P0471. Was told by dodge it was warped exhaust manifold. Had full exhaust system replaced including all sensors just to be safe (3g$). Got car back still ticking but even louder now. Took car to non dealership and the mechanic said immediately that’s lifter noise. VVT was pulled and checked for metal (it was present). Was told it’s suggested to replace entire motor and with absolutely no help from dodge. The shop that found the lifter issue said he’s had multiple 5.7 and 6.4 hemis all in the shop all with the same problem and dodge will do nothing to fix it and I was also told don’t just throw parts at it cause it will just keep failing and costing money it needs to be replaced completely with better parts to avoid continued problems. It will cost nothing short of 10g$ to do this repair and losing my only means of transportation for however long not to mention it putting my life and others at risk when the car decides to just cut power or turn off completely. I’ve already limited my driving due to this problem and worries of complete engine Failure and now I won’t even let my family ride In the vehicle for fear of it shutting down especially at highway speeds. Dodge needs to address this problem ASAP!!

I HAVE REPLACED 6 PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM WIRING HARNESSES IN THE LAST 5 MONTHS DUE TO THE HARNESS MELTING AT THE LIGHTBULBS CONNECTOR. ALSO REPLACING LIGHTBULBS EACH TIME BECAUSE ONCE THE HARNESS MELTS THEY CANNOT BE SEPARATED CAUSING AN ADDED ADDITIONAL COST EACH TIME TO THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A NEW LIGHTBULB HARNESS 3 WEEKS AGO & HAD IT INSTALLED DUE TO MY LOW BEAM GOING OUT YET AGAIN, & YESTERDAY EVENING NOTICED IT WAS OUT AGAIN!!!! AFTER ALL THE TIME AND MONEY SPENT, I'M GETTING TIRED OF THIS AND FRANKLY IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO KNOW ELECTRICAL STUFF IS BURNING UP UNDER YOUR HOOD THAT SHOULD BE SAFE! Lifter failure is causing metal shavings from the cam to fall into the engine block and cause the engine to fail. This is a known problem with these cars and nothing is being done about it by the manufacturer.

Vehicle will shift into Neutral while driving while the gear shift is still in Drive. This happens multiple times throughout the week with speeds varying from 35-50 mph. I have not noticed if the road condition makes a difference, I have gone downhill, up hill, around corners, etc and it will randomly shift into neutral. I cannot recreate the issue, it just happens at random.

TAKATA RECALL SENT A NOTICE ABOUT THE ALTERNATOR. IT WAS ON THE SECOND CARFAX I RECEIVED BUT NOT FROM THE ORIGINAL DEALER I GOT THE CAR. THEY NEVER REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. SO I BOUGHT THE CAR WENT TO THE BANK AND I THOUGHT MY CAR WAS GOING TO BURN TO THE GROUND NOTHING BUT HEAVY SMOKE POURED FROM UNDER THE CAR AND UNDER THE HOOD. MY CAR WAS SITTING IN THE BANK OF AMERICA PARKING LOT.. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR BECAUSE THE DEALSHIP GAVE ME A BOGUS CARFAX TO BEGIN WITH.

Loss of touchscreen functionality only works initially and then freezes completely making it unusable and making the most part of the internal features and climate control completely unavailable and increasing the risk of safety of the driver, Dealer stating to replace whole touch screen unit which is extremely expensive to replace, It should be standard and lot of functionality is used from the touchscreen And also Loss Of Low Beam Headlights seems like issue with electrical system recall issue that was done a long time back

PASSENGER HID LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS OFF. AFTER A PERIOD OF THE VEHICLE BEING SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED THE LIGHT WILL COME BACK O BUT WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE WIRING HARNESS, BUT NOTHING IS SHOWING ON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE FOR THE RECALL.

I BOUGHT A USED 2012 DODGE CHARGER AND HAD EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT BY BIG O TIRES PRIOR TO PURCHASE. A FEW DAYS LATER, MY HUSBAND WAS STUCK AT THE GAS STATION BECAUSE THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN VARIOUS PLACES AND WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE DEALER CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THE BRAKE SWITCH IS GOOD, WE HAD THE WHOLE GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY REPLACED AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. UPON WATCHING YOU TUBE VIDEOS, IT MUST BE THE TRANSMISSION INTERLOCK SWITCH (THE INFAMOUS PINK PLASTIC PIECE) THAT DODGE/CHRYSLER OWNERS ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH. THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2005-07 DODGE CHARGERS TO REPLACE THE PINK TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK LATCH THAT BREAKS AND PREVENTS VEHICLES FROM SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. MY 2012 AND MANY VEHICLES AFTER 2007 ARE ALSO AFFECTED. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO REPLACE THIS PART. I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THIS RECALL TO BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE MODEL YEARS AFTER 2007, TO INCLUDE MY 2012 CHARGER.

BATTERY SAVER MODE APPEARED ON MY DASH. THE NEXT DAY DRIVING HOME THE CAR STALLED AND SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. IT REALLY DOESN'T STATE DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE GET IT TOWED. I WAS ON MY WAY TO GET THE CAR DIAGNOSE. I WAS DRIVING WHEN MY CAR DECIDED TO STALL OUT. I WASN'T ON A MAIN ROAD BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. THE DEALER SAID THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR IS FIRED. THE CAR WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE NEITHER ONE OF MY FOB. I FEEL AS THOUGH THE VERBIAGE SHOULD BE UPDATED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL SPECIFICALLY ABOUT TH MESSAGE BATTERY SAVER MODE. IT MAY SAVE A LIFE.

I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT 30 MILES AN HOUR HITTING THE FRONT LEFT OF MY VEHICLE. I HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER, AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED RESULTING IN MY HEAD SLAMMING INTO THE WINDOW AND THE STEERING WHEEL. AS WELL AS THE BATTERY NO LONGER WORKING AND THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR SEVERAL FUSES WERE BLOWN. IT WAS 10 BELOW AND HAD LIGHT BLOWING SNOW AND NEW TIRES. Oct, 2022 my car did not shift out of park so I googled my car and the problem, So it said it was my monostable shifter modular. I towed it to A Transmission mechanic and they did a full body diagnostic test and I was told all I needed was to buy a new transmission shifter modular and a PCM to get my car running again. I did not have the $ 4,200 for them to fix my car so I had it towed back home. Now as of today my car is not running still because of the transmission shifter modular and PCM I bought brand new Installed myself and for some odd reason the electrical started flickering as if maybe the wiring is wrong or something. Now there was already a recall on the following repairs I've done and yet its documented in the recall system that all recalls were repaired by manufacture In 2017 Alternator Diode Thermal Fatigue, April 2016 TRANSMISSION ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER, Jan 2016 WHEEL CHOCKS, July 2015 REPROGRAM OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE, Dec 2019 Reprogram Powertrain Control Module, Oct 2012 EMISSIONS RECALL M30 POSITION VALVE/INTERNAL TEMP DIAGNOSTICS. So either the recalls weren't repaired as documented or it is a factory defect and my car needs the repairs done again at no charge. When I call to the dealers the management was a female and told me me my car was to old and they longer work on my car I've been told that several times. I also have all receipts for repairs and you will see that its the same issue as the recall that was apparently repaired.

My 2012 Dodge Charger was bought used and it had been recently repaired and recalls performed on it. (The dealership was nice to point that out to me.) in Dec 2020 Wa. state. I have had nothing but problems with it. About a month later I had smelled smoke. I had my car scanned and it said camshaft needed to be replaced. So I did. It has stalled and seized up without warning. I was only going 40 miles an hour when the steering went hard( could not move or control it) The dashboard went black and I tried to pull it to the shoulder. The engine was still on. I would put the gas on ... but it had died. There was one other vehicle on the road at that time following me. He went around just in time. This not only happened once but two times. Since the car was a dodge i went to that dealership. A couple of times telling then the problem. They just wanted to scan the vehicle for $85.00 PER SCAN. The young man that was helping me keep looking at the computer screen . I asked if I could have a copy of what he was looking at and he said "yes". This sheet of paper was called the VIP Summary report. I was not the VIP the dealership was There was a WARNING MESSAGES in bold print. It read ATTENTION "This vehicle may have had 9 visits, 42 days down and 7 repeat repairs. Service personal should contact management and engage FCA service parts resources ' This was at 5:09pm I left. I noticed a very well dressed man sitting in his car looking at me... HUMM... SO I WENT OVER THE DODGE AND I GOT PAPERWORK FOR THE DAY AND THEY SHOW THAT THEY SWAPPED MY ALTERNATOR OUT WITH A P 60. SO WHY WOULD THEY SWAP MY ALTERNATOR OUT WITH A DEFECTIVE ONE? BUT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT THEY TOLD ME THAT'S NOT THE RECALLED ONE BUT IT IS I HAVE A P602AA ALTERNATOR IN MY CAR. MY ABS BRAKES WEREN'T WORKING WHEN THE POWER WENT OUT AND A BUNCH OF STUFF THAT IT SAID HAPPENS IF YOU DON'T CHANGE THAT ALTERNATOR. I THINK THERE WAS A MIX-UP SOMEWHERE A FRIEND OF MINE WORKS FOR DODGE AND HE TOLD ME THAT'S A RECALLED ALTERNATOR. MAYBE HE SAID THERE WAS A MIX-UP ON THE SHELF AND SOMEBODY GRABBED THE WRONG ALTERNATOR BUT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT HE SAYS MISTAKES LIKE THAT HAPPEN BUT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THEY WANT ME TO BRING THE CAR IN AND CHARGE ME $300 TO LOOK AT IT

THE RADIO TURNED OFF, EVERY LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIT UP, WIPERS TURNED ON AUTOMATICALLY, LOST BOTH POWER BREAK AND POWER STEERING. ALL THIS AT OVER 50 MPH WITH OUR YOUNG SON IN THE BACK SEAT....EVENTUALLY MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED, BUT EVEN AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS WAS UNABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. EVENTUALLY THE CAR JUST COMPLETELY DIED. SHE WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURNING LANE AND WASN'T EVEN ABLE TO TURN ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS. THE CAR ENDED UP BEING TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY ALTERNATOR TO THE TUNE OF ALMOST $900. FINANCIAL BURDEN ASIDE, THIS WAS A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE FOR MY WIFE AND SON, AND ALTHOUGH THE CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED NEITHER MY WIFE NOR I FEEL ENTIRELY COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR BY OURSELVES MUCH LESS HAVING OUR YOUNG SON IN THE BACK SEAT.

COMPLAINT CONCERNING: NHTSA PRELIMINARY EVALUATION #PE14022 ON SATURDAY 9/13/14 I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE STORE ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD GOING 35 MILES PER HOUR AND MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO FLASH THE ABS LIGHT. I have called the dealerships in Fresno Ca and Clovis Ca asked them to check out my car because of all the recalls that were done by them I'm having problems with it or had to replace it again. I also told them since it was a recall and they supposedly repaired it I wanted them to check into it to see if the wrong was done because anyone could falsify a document I was turned away from both dealerships. I have receipts for parts I have replaced that were recalled, as diagnostics tests. This has been going on since 2022 one after another and then affects other parts I even asked them to do a software update for the electronic monostable gear they said no.

I HAD HE EXACT SAME ALTERNATOR FAILURE AS DESCRIBED BY THE DODGE CHARGER P60 RECALL. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 60MPH WHEN MY RADIO AND FRONT PANEL FLICKERED, THEN CUT OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE COMING BACK ON. MY TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS STAYED ON. ABOUT A MINUTE LATER, I LOST POWER AND MY CAR COMPLETELY STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE CENTER LANE BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS WAS FRIGHTENING BECAUSE IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE, IT'S A POORLY LIT ROAD AND OF COURSE I HAD NO ELECTRICITY TO TURN ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. WITH NO WAY TO POP THE TRUNK, I HAD TO CRAWL INTO IT VIA THE BACK SEAT TO GRAB FLARES (LUCKILY I HAD SOME-MOST PEOPLE DON'T). I WAS ALMOST STRUCK BY SEVERAL CARS DURING THIS TIME. ALAS, THE TOW TRUCK CAME AND I WAS TAKEN TO A SAFE LOCATION. THE AVERAGE QUOTE FROM MECHANICS IN THE DC AREA IS ABOUT $800. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $970. THE 180AMP ALTERNATOR SHOULD BE RECALLED JUST AS THE 160AMP ALTERNATOR. ITS DEFECTIVE AND ITS A SAFETY RISK.

LUCKILY NO ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE TURNPIKE, BUT IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD HAVE TURNED OUT VERY BAD FOR ME AND MY 2 YEAR OLD SON IN THE BACKSEAT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO SEARS FOR A CHARGING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC AND TURNED OUT THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS DEAD. THE BATTERY WAS ALSO DEAD. I PAID FOR A NEW BATTERY AND CONFIRMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT CHARGING THE NEW DIE-HARD ADVANCED GOLD BATTERY I JUST PURCHASED. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS DEAD. WE WILL CONFIRM MAIN CAUSE TODAY. THIS CAR IS A 2012 AND I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A CAR THAT NEW EVEN WITH 101,000 (A LARGE % ARE HIGHWAY MILES) COULD HAVE A BAD ALTERNATOR GO THAT SOON. I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW DECEMBER 11, 2011 AND IT IS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER SXT PLUS. I HAD NO ISSUE WITH MY WHEELS, THEN IN JULY 2018 ISH. I WAS HAVING WHAT I THOUGHT WAS TIRE PROBLEMS. LES SCHWAB LOOKED AT MY TIRES AND IT WAS A BENT RIM. I PAID ALMOT $400 FOR A NEW RIM. THEN 3 MONTHS LATER I HAD ANOTHER BENT RIM, THIS TIME THE REPLAEMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MOPAR PART FOR OVER $600.. I WENT TO AN ONLINE STORE AND PURCHASED 4 NEW RIMS FOR AROUND $800, ALMOST THE EXACT SAME RIMS. MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ISSUES REGARDING P60 / NHTSA 14V-634 RECALL. THE ALTERNATOR DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH VOLTAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE ENTIRE SYSTEM BEGINS TO FAIL. WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET TRAVELING AROUND 30 MPH I RECEIVED NO WARNING AND MY BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN. ALL OF THE LIGHTS BEGAN TURNING ON AND OFF, THE WIPERS TURNED ON, AND THEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THIS CAUSED ME TO NEARLY HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND INJURE MYSELF. MY 2012 DODGE CHARGER SXT HAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000 MILES. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT, MAINTENANCE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN DONE ON TIME. I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT WHEN I STARTED HEARING A NOISE FROM THE HOOD. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT, THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE AND BECAME LOUDER. THEN SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE HOOD. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WAITED FOR THE SMOKE TO SUBSIDE, WHICH WAS ABOUT 40 MINUTES. THEN I OPENED THE HOOD AND AND THE SMELL OF BURNT WAS VERY STRONG. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER THAT. WE HAD IT TOWED TO OUR MECHANIC AND HE CONFIRMED THE ALTERNATOR HAD CAUGHT FIRE. HE COULD NOT FIX ANYTHING BECAUSE THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE CAR WHERE ACTING UP AND HE DOES NOT KNOW THE SYSTEM. HE ADVISED US ABOUT THE ALTERNATOR RECALL P60 AND SO I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WERE ADAMANT THAT MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE ANY RECALLS FOR THE ALTERNATOR. HOWEVER ALL SYMPTOMS OF THIS RECALL P60 WERE PRESENT IN MY CAR. WE TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE AND THEY REFERRED US TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY CONFIRMED THE COMPUTER WAS ALSO DAMAGED AND THEY SAID THAT ONLY THE DEALER COULD HELP WITH THAT. I CALLED THE DEALER AS WELL AND THEY SAID, THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON THE ALTERNATOR, COMPUTER OR ANY OF THE COMPONENTS THE OTHER MECHANICS HAVE CONFIRMED FAILED IN THE CAR. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ALTERNATOR ISSUE UNDER RECALL P60 AND NOW WE ARE LEFT WITH AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR, CAR RENTAL. AS I EXITED THE FREEWAY MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN AND LOSE POWER. I WAS ABLE TO SPUTTER AT 10 MPH FOR ABOUT A QUARTER MILE TO A PARKING LOT. DRIVING ON FLORIDA TURNPIKE AND SEVERAL CAR INDICATOR WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, STABILITY CONTROL, BATTERY AND SO MANY OTHERS THAT I CANNOT REMEMBER THEM. A HIGH PITCHED NOISE WAS EMITTED, CAR STARTED SMOKING FROM VENTS AND SMELLED LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. I WAS PASSING A TURNPIKE STOP AND WAS ABLE TO UNSAFELY CROSS SEVERAL LANES OF TRAFFIC TO PULL IN TO THE STOP. I MADE IT INTO THE PARKING LOT JUST IN TIME AND THE CAR CUT OUT. HAD TO TAKE TO BE TOWED TO THE CLOSEST MECHANIC AND LEAVE OVERNIGHT BECAUSE IT WAS TOO HOT TO CONNECT TO COMPUTER TO TROUBLESHOOT. THE BATTERY CASING WAS MELTED. THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED. I AM VERY GRATEFUL THAT I WAS NEXT TO A TURNPIKE STOP WHEN THIS HAPPENED OR MY CAR WOULD HAVE SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

I HEADED FOR THE NEAREST EXIT AND JUST I WAS EXITING THE CAR'S STEERING ABILITY LOCKED UP AND COAXED IT TO THE MIDDLE MERIDIAN OF THE ROAD WHEN IT THEN SUDDENLY LOST POWER, NARROWLY AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT IN A BUSY NY INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON AND I CALLED AAA. THEY TRIED TO GIVE THE CAR A BOOST BUT IT ONLY POWERED THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND IT WOULD NOT START. ONCE THEY TOOK OFF THE CABLES IT HAD NO POWER. And the air bags has illuminated on the dash and it is at the dealership, and I was told, I have to pay for everything out of pocket.To replace it, popping out of gear while driving and the airbags. I am experiencing the same issue as identified with NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11525511, June 5, 2023. Dodge has a known issue with the wiring for the fuse for the a/c located in the front PDC. Technical Service Bulletin NUMBER: 08-040-14 REV. A. On or around June 2020, I took my 2012 Dodge Charger to my local dealership during the COVID pandemic for an issue with my AC not working. I had the car inspected by numerous mechanics who indicated there was an issue with the fuse for the a/c clutch (#12), They would replace the fuse numerous times, the AC would come on and blow warm air or cool air, but mostly warm. Replacing the fuse numerous of times did not resolve the issue. Neither did replacing all the cooling system and radiator and fan as well. My auto shop had a mechanic who specializes on the computer for cars take a look at my Charger and found technical service bulletins NUMBER: 08-040-14 and NUMBER: 08-040-14 REV. A which directly describes the issue I am experiencing with my vehicle. The mechanic has even placed a small nail in the cavity next to the fuse to hold it in its place and my AC is blowing fine and cold air until that fuse is moved or touched. This also caused issues with the fuse for the steering wheel on the car which the Dodge dealership addressed when I lost steering power on my vehicle. They did NOT repair the issue with NUMBER: 08-040-14 on my vehicle. I paid the $199.00 diagnostic fee just for the shop to put a new fuse in (which I repeatedly told them was not the issue at that time) and I am still having the same problem. I would like Chrysler/Dodge to contact Armory Dodge and authorize not only a refund for the $199.00 diagnostic fee I paid to have the issue identified (which they did not) and also authorize the repair needed as instructed on the TSB NUMBER: 08-040-14. The dealership has informed me that they do not even have the repair kit needed Part No. 68235388AA (wire harness kit) and would need to do a workaround to repair the issue.

A licensed mechanic did a diagnostic test and the code P1DB7 came up. The reason for calling the mechanic was after driving my car the next day it didn't want to start, there was recalls already repaired apparently yet the code states that it's a Faulty Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM). there's still an electrical problem TPMS is still not reading the computer system correctly is just not right therefore it's not reading anything correctly. the original control arms w/ball JT including the steering column is all bad and will cause a wreck or someone killed caused of the instability.

Service power steering warning comes on, causes my gauge cluster to go blank & dark, I lose A/C, power steering, headlights work intermittently, blinkers & all steering wheel button options stop working, and my transmission will start downshifting shifting erratically. It downshifts so hard I'm afraid I'll lose control of my car. Yesterday I had a message pop up saying it was going into Power Saving Mode. When the power steering warning is on, my A/C will have half the vents blowing cold air, the other half blowing hot heater air. During the winter my heated seats only worked intermittently. All of these issues are related to the past recalls on my car that were supposedly fixed; however, the problems are still occurring. Can somebody please contact me about these recalls and tell me what I should do? Thank you!

I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE AS I DO EACH MORNING. AS I WENT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AT ALMOST IDLE SPEED, I COULD FEEL A STRONG RESISTANCE (AS IF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ON) AND THE POWER STEERING TIGHTENED UP. SUDDENLY A STRONG BURNING SMELL FILLED THE CAR, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THE AC FAN BLEW ON HIGH SPEED. I IMMEDIATELY REVERSED BACK TO THE GARAGE (100 FEET OR LESS) AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO PARK. THERE WAS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING BURNING UNDER THE HOOD AS THE SMELL FILLED THE GARAGE. I TURNED OFF THE CAR. WHEN AAA ARRIVED TO TOW IT, THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. THE DRIVER CHOSE NOT TO JUMP IT FOR FEAR OF DOING MORE DAMAGE. MY LOCAL TRUSTED MECHANIC ADVISED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2012 DODGE CHARGER ALTERNATORS AND HE BELIEVED THAT IT WAS MY ALTERNATOR THAT HAD FAILED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO ARRIGO SAWGRASS DODGE WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD IN FACT FAILED AND WAS BURNING. HE SAID THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE MY VIN AND THAT CHRYSLER WOULD NOT COVER MY EXPENSES. MY 16 YEAR OLD SON AND I WERE LUCKY WE WERE IN THE DRIVEWAY, LUCKY THE FIRE DIDN'T IGNITE WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING AND LUCKY MY SON (A NEW DRIVER) WAS NOT FACED WITH A TOTALLY DISABLED VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL, THIS FAILURE CREATED A HIGH RISK OF CRASH. HAD WE BEEN ON ANY ROAD INSTEAD OF MY DRIVEWAY, WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.

I PULLED INTO AN INTERSECTION AND THE ELECTRICAL ON THE VEHICLE STARTED FLASHING OFF AND ON. DASHBOARD, WIPERS, RADIO, TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE STUTTERING AND STALLING. I MADE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, AND ABOUT 20 FEET FROM IT BEFORE THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THERE WAS MINIMAL POWER, SO THE HAZARDS WORKED, BUT THE KEY FOB WAS NOT DETECTED (I JUST BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY FOR IT LAST WEEK), THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CONTINUED TO FLICKER EACH TIME I TRIED TO RESTART IT. THE MIDDLE SCREEN CAME UP BLANK OR WHITE, AND IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE THE BUTTON/START INDICATOR WOULD MOVE FROM THE "RUN" TO THE "OFF" POSITION. THE BATTERY WAS OBVIOUSLY DEAD, BUT WHEN A PASSERBY STOPPED TO HELP ME TRY TO JUMP IT, IT WOULDN'T TAKE A CHARGE. THE ELECTRICAL CAPACITY CONTINUED TO DIMINISH AS I TRIED TO START IT, OR TRY DIFFERENT THINGS TO GET IT TO WORK. THE GREAT SHIFT LOCKED UP SO I COULDN'T PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO ROLL THE CAR OUT OF THE WAY. SINCE IT WAS 4:30 ON A BUSY, DIVIDED HIGHWAY DURING A TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR, I WAS TERRIFIED SOMEONE WAS GOING TO HIT ME FROM BEHIND. FORTUNATELY OCSO ARRIVED TO HELP DIVERT TRAFFIC, AND HE HELPED ME FIGURE OUT WHERE THE EMERGENCY DISCONNECT WAS FOR THE TRANSMISSION SO WE COULD PUSH IT OFF THE ROAD. AAA CAME BUT IT WOULDN'T STAY CHARGED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME WITH THE TRAVEL CHARGER ON IT. I TRIED TO JUMP IT AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES, WITH NO LUCK, IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. SO, $800 LATER, I HAVE A NEW BATTERY, NEW ALTERNATOR, AND FEEL LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T GET STUCK IN THE INTERSECTION, GET REAR-ENDED, OR HADN'T LEFT ON MY TRIP TO NORTH CAROLINA YET. MY DODGE CHARGER WENT DEAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY. THE BATTERY INDICATOR CAME ON AND CHARGING SYSTEM ON MY MONITOR, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY WIFE IN THE CAR AND I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO TURN ON A SIDE STREET AS THE WIPERS CAME ON AND SUDDENLY I HAD NO MORE POWER TO STEER THE CAR. I HAD MY HAZARDOUS LIGHTS ON TOO AND EVERYTHING THEN WENT DEAD. I WAS LUCKY THAT DAY AND GOD WATCHED OVER ME AND MY WIFE. WHEN MY ROADSIDE SERVICE GOT THERE AND HE TRIED TO GIVE ME A JUMP IT WOULD NOT START AND HE TESTED THE BATTERY AND IT HAD A FULL CHARGE ON IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DODGE DEALER THAT NIGHT. I FOUNDED OUT THERE WAS A P60 RECALL ALTERNATOR (AMP 160) FOR DODGE CHARGER YEAR 2011-2014. I CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATION THE NIGHT I WENT DOWN, AND THEY LOOKED UP AND SAID IT WAS NOT ON MY VEHICLE. THEY SAID I HAD A AMP 180, BUT AFTER GETTING A NEW ALTERNATOR IN MY DODGE CHARGER I'M STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH A BATTERY SAVE MODE THAT KEEPS POPPING UP ON MY MONITOR SCREEN. 2 OF THE 4 BOLT HEADS SHEARED OFF OF THE REAR CONNECTING POINTS ON THE ENGINE CRADLE. DRIVERS SIDE TIME IS UNKNOWN. PASSENGER SIDE HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN CAR WAS COMING IN TO PARK. SEE PHOTOS. IF THE PASSENGER SIDE BOLT HEAD HAD SHEARED OFF ON THE ROAD, I WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE CAR. COULD THIS HAVE CAUSED A SEVERE ACCIDENT WHILE DOING THE COMMON SPEED LIMIT OF 75MPH? THEN THE ACTUAL CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKED AS THE SHEARED BOLT HEADS WOULD HAVE BEEN CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT. CAUSE OF FAILURE HAS BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO RUST, BUT I CANNOT SEE A 1/2 BOLT RUSTING THROUGH IN 7 YEARS, EVEN IF 5 YEARS WERE SPENT IN NORTHERN OHIO. REPAIRS COST OVER $3800.00

I SMELLED SMOKE AS I WAS PULLING INTO A CONVENIENCE STORE. I STOPPED THE CAR BESIDE A GAS PUMP. AT THAT TIME I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I POPPED THE LATCH TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD. I WAS TRYING TO FIND THE LATCH TO OPEN THE HOOD AND COULD NOT FIND IT, SO I LOOKED UNDER THE UNOPENED HOOD AND SAW A FIRE. I THEN GOT BACK INTO THE CAR AND MOVED IT AWAY FROM THE FUEL PUMPS AND AWAY FROM THE BUILDING. I GATHERED UP MY PHONE AND PHONE CHARGER, POPPED THE TRUNK TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING I NEEDED TO GET OUT. I THEN BACKED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AT A SAFE DISTANCE AND CALLED 911. THE POLICE AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE CAR IS TOTALED. THE INTERIOR IS BURNED UP, THE 2 FRONT TIRES ARE BURNED UP, THE WIND SHIELD AND BOTH FRONT WINDOWS SHATTERED, THE ENGINE IS BURNED UP AND THE FRONT HALF OF THE CARS PAINT HAS BEEN BURNED UP.

ON 7-14-15, I STARTED MY VEHICLE. AS IT STARTED, I HEARD A "DING" NOISE. I OBSERVED ON MY DISPLAY TWO WARNING LIGHTS ON. THAT BEING THE ABS, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) LIGHTS CAME ON. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THIS MAY BE THE RESULT OF A SPEED SENSOR GOING OUT. (THIS ALSO DISRUPTS USE OF CRUISE CONTROL.) I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER, ADVISING THEM I NEEDED A "FRONT LEFT SPEED SENSOR". THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. (CLOSE TO 600 ON BACKORDER.) THIS IS ALSO WHEN I LEARNED THAT A SPEED SENSOR IS NOT UNIVERSAL. THEREFORE, A SPEED SENSOR FOR THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL, WON'T FIT ON THE FRONT LEFT SPEED SENSOR SPOT. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH MY WINDOWS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE PASSENGER WINDOW WOULD GO HALF WAY UP THEN GO BACK DOWN, BACK WINDOWS WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL. tire size is 235/55R19 the tires had to be replaced because they were wearing unevenly and loosing tread quicker than we believe they should. The rims prematurely rusted and the caps rusted so badly they could not be put back on the vehicle after the new tires we purchased were put on the car.

Purchased four Cooper Adventurer Tour P235/55R18 tires from Pep Boys Oct 2018. Drove them 19,000 miles with no road hazard incidents. I rotate tires every 5,000 miles. One tire developed a slow leak presently on the right rear side and now losing a couple psi per week. Placed the tire in a water filled wheelbarrow. Found hundreds of tiny bubbles developing around the entire sidewall where the design impressions are located. Problem is not at the bead nor at the tread. Suspect this could lead to a blowout due to a flawed manufacturing problem. Question is are the others from the same batch about to have the same problem. Have road hazard warranty but this is a tire flaw.

The contact's husband owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle shuddered, lost motive power, and failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a handheld diagnostic machine retrieved DTC: P0016 (Cam and Crank shafts signals error). The vehicle was taken to the residence where the cam shaft and oil sensors were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.

WHILE THE INDICATORS ARE ILLUMINATED, THE RESPECTIVE SYSTEMS ARE NOT ENABLED. THIS WAS TESTED IN WINTER WEATHER BY BRAKING ON SLIPPERY ROADS WITH NO ANTI-LOCK INTERVENTION, AND ACCELERATING AROUND A CORNER WITH NO TRACTION CONTROL OR STABILITY CONTROL INTERVENTION. WHILE I WAS DRIVING AROUND 20 MPH, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE ESC, ABS, ETC AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ALL AT ONCE AND I HAD TO QUICKLY GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT THE USE OF GAS. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS STUCK AND THE SCREEN ON MY DASHBOARD INFORMED ME THAT I NEEDED TO PUSH THE START BUTTON TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK. I SAT WITH MY CHILDREN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD WERE STILL ON BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A FAULTY TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR AND SOME ISSUE WITH A CYLINDER NOT FUNCTIONING. I PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR THE COST OF REPAIR. A MONTH LATER, I RECEIVE THE P60 RECALL LETTER AND IT SEEMS TO DESCRIBE THE ISSUE I HAD. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS INCOMPETENT. I LEFT THE ISSUE ALONE AND HAD THE RECALL ON THE ALTERNATOR REPAIRED IN APRIL. LAST WEEK, AUGUST 1ST, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIM AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. ESC, ABS, ETC AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND HE HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY WHILE HE LOST POWER IN THE CAR. GEAR SHIFT WAS STUCK AND HE HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK BY PRESSING THE START BUTTON. SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP. IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 I RECEIVED A LETTER INDICATING THAT MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECALLED DUE TO ISSUES WITH THE ALTERNATOR. THE RECALL STATED THAT THE ABS, ESC,EMC, AND CBC SYSTEMS COULD/WOULD EXPERIENCE ISSUES DUE TO THE FAILING ALTERNATOR. RECENTLY, MY VEHICLE'S INDICATOR LIGHTS APPEARED SHOWING THAT I WAS EXPERIENCING FAILURES TO A FEW OF THOSE SYSTEMS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME, SO I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DODGE 24 HOUR HOTLINE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE RECALLED PARTS. ON THAT DAY, I WAS TOLD THAT ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX COULD BE OFFERED BECAUSE THE PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR MONTHS. A FEW DAYS LATER, I WAS ISSUED A LETTER STATING THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL BE ABLE TO FIX MY RECALLED ALTERNATOR. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT IMMEDIATELY AND CALLED DODGE HEADQUARTERS TO VERIFY THAT THIS IS A PERMANENT FIX. AT THAT TIME I WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT THE FIX IS ONLY TEMPORARY. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS RECEIVING A PERMANENT FIX. OVERALL, I AM UNSURE IF MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY FIXED OR IF I'VE RECEIVED A PERMANENT FIX. IN ADDITION, THE DEALERSHIP TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY IN ASSISTING TO FIX THE SYSTEMS THAT FAILED AS A RESULT OF THE RECALLED ALTERNATOR. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $75 JUST FOR THEM TO INSPECT THE REST OF THE VEHICLE AND THEN PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE SYSTEMS THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. I FIND THAT TO BE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. THERE IS A DIRECT LINK AND THE DEALERSHIP/DODGE SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ISSUES WITH THE ABS, ESC, EMC, AND/OR CBC SYSTEMS. I AM DISHEARTENED BY THIS HORRIBLE INTERACTION WITH DODGE AND THE COMPANY'S DEFIANCE IN FIXING ALL ISSUES THAT ARE DIRECTLY LINKED TO THEIR MISTAKE. I purchased a 2012 Dodge Charger shortly after tha it just stopped working. It was perfectly fine and then it just wouldn't start. It only turned on to accessory mode. The lights ,radio,ac, ect. turned on but the vehicle did no. The brake pedal was very hard couldn't be pushed down. On the dashboard a red lightning bolt symbol with two parentheses appeared. I got it towed the dealership send the problem was the battery and the key fob. I picked it up it was fine and then a few days later while driving on the highway it suddenly started to lose power and completely stopped. same red lightning bolt symbol appeared.I barely made it to the side of the road. I had my son with me. It was a very scary situation our lives were in danger as well as the other drivers behind me because of the sudden decrease in speed. I had to get it towed for the second time. The dealership said that they changed the fuel pump. It was fine after that then couple weeks later I noticed the check engine light come on for about half a day then turn off. 2 Days later I went to turn it on and it did not start, same red lightning bolt symbol appeared again. I got it towed to the manufacture dealership for a recall and they did diagnostic and are telling me that it is the starter switch. They didn't mention anything about the red lightning bolt and it still doesn't turn on

Was just driving and the engine just cut off now it want start. I carried it to a certified mechanic he said the motor locked up. He also said it's common for this 3.6 to do this. Something about stuff getting in the engine and causes the bearings to mess up and the pistons.

When I purchased the car it had been used as a police car in the state of Mississippi. So after I bought the car I checked for any recalls and found it to have 2 open recalls. 1 was a passenger side airbag and the other was the alternator. So I contacted Moss motor company in South Pittsburg Tennessee and they agreed to do the recalls. After they had finished installing the air bag they told me the alternator wasn't required for change out because the part number listed on it wasn't warranted. So I did some investigating and found my part number to be 7030. The part numbers not required for change out is 7051-7031-and 7170.. It's listed under the NHTSA S68/16v-739 recall. Since I've had the car I have had blinking headlight issues.. I have a little bit of automobile knowledge and I knew it had to be a grounding problem or a alternator problem. So I even added a couple of grounds from the engine to the chassis with no improvement. So I contacted a good friend of mine whom is a retired Dodge Chrysler master technician and he agreed to check my alternator for fluctuating amperage. He placed a device around the lead wire coming from the alternator to the battery and when he did the needle was constantly fluctuating very rapidly probably 2/3 across the entire dial. So there is no question whatsoever the alternator is the source of the problem. There's one more issue I would like to report. When I carried my car in for the recalls to be performed the technician didn't even bother to raise the hood of the car to check the part number on the alternator.. The reason I know this is because he didn't take my car to the shop area, he pulled my car in front of the high bay doors and installed the passenger side airbag.. I did witness this.. But not 1 time did I see him raise the hood. It took me a 30x magnifying glass and a flashlight to take the photo clearly showing the part number on my current alternator that was supposed to be changed. Photo attached is part number.

The contact owns a 2012 DODGE CHARGER. The contact stated that a fluid leak would circulate through the engine block. Due to this failure, the contact stated that the vehicle would stall out without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to several independent mechanics and each time the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where he was informed that there were 2 recalls on his vehicle NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V197000(SERVICE BRAKES, AIR, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The contact stated that his vehicle was then towed to the dealer for repair; however, the contact was informed that the parts for the repair were on backorder. The manufacture was notified of the failure and have not given him an update. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 160,000.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 CHARGER SXT, AND THE CAR SUDDENLY WENT INTO BATTERY SAVER MODE. I HAD PULLED OVER TO GOOGLE IT ON MY PHONE, AND MY CAR WAS STARTING TO DISPLAY THE SYMPTOMS IN THE P60 RECALL. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON, THE TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, THEY ALL CAME ON. THEN AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT DODGE THE CENTER SCREEN SHUT OFF, I LOST POWER STEERING, THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF. SOMEHOW THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS RAN A FEW CYCLES. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR HAD A 180 AMPS ALTERNATOR, THAT IT WAS NOT PART OF THE P60. MY CAR HAD JUST REACHED 119000KM (74000MI), AND THE AVERAGE MILEAGE OF CHARGERS WITH 180 AMPS ALTERNATORS APPEARS TO BE AROUND 106000KM (66000MI). THE ROAD THAT I WAS ON, IT FOLLOWED THE A WINDING CLIFF. IF THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN MORE SEVERE I WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE DIED, EITHER GONE INTO THE ROCK FACE, OFF THE CLIFF, OR INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ALSO, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. AS I DROVE MY SCREEN BEGAN TURNING OFF AND ON, MY A/C KEPT TURNING UP AND DOWN BUT BLOWING HOT AIR, AS IF THE HEATER WAS ON, AND THE DISPLAY SCREEN WHERE IT SHOWS SPEED TURNED WHITE AND STARTED BLINKING ON AND OFF, ALL THE INDEXES ON THE DASH WENT CRAZY AND MAYBE TWO MINUTES LATER MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND I STRUGGLED TO TURN AS THE STEERING LOCKED. I WAS LUCKY TO BE NEAR THE AUTO ZONE ALREADY AND AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. MY SON WAS WITH ME IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THEY WERE ABLE TO CHECK IT AND IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR ON NEARLY A DAILY BASIS SINCE I ACQUIRED IT IN OCTOBER 2013. OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST 27K MILES, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY WHEELS ("RIMS") ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS DURING THE SPRING MONTHS AS A RESULT OF HAIRLINE FRACTURES/CRACKS OCCURRING ON THE INNER WALL OF THE WHEEL. THE LOCATION OF THE CRACK TO BE MORE PRECISE IS WHERE THE BEAD OF THE TIRE WOULD BE SEATED DURING MOUNTING. IN EACH INSTANCE, THE WHEEL IN QUESTION WAS MOUNTED ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR (ONE DRIVER SIDE AND TWO PASSENGER SIDE) AND DID NOT SHOW ANY SIGN OF DEFORMATION OR BENDING. DODGE HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE CRACKS AND HAS CONSISTENTLY DENIED CLAIMS STATING THAT THEY WERE NOT A RESULT OF WORKMANSHIP OR FROM POOR DESIGN. GIVEN THE STIFFNESS OF THE SUSPENSION AND WEIGHT OF THE MOTOR OVER THE FRONT WHEELS AS WELL AS THE CONSISTENCY OF THE FRACTURE (FRONT OF CAR AND INSIDE OF WHEEL), I DO NOT AGREE WITH THEIR CLAIMS. I HAVE DONE A BRIEF SEARCH OF THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND AN ABUNDANCE OF BLOGS AND SIMILAR DISCUSSION BOARDS WHERE OWNERS OF SRT8 CHARGERS OF MY MODEL YEAR HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I PURCHASED THIS CAR JULY OF 2012. I'VE ALREADY SPENT OVER 2,000 OUT OF POCKET IN REPAIRS FOR A NEW MODEL 2012 CAR. THE DEALERSHIP I RECEIVED THE CAR FROM IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I NOW REGRET EVER GETTING A DODGE CHARGER FROM [XXX] USURY(WHEN I PURCHASED) (CURRENT NAME). THE SALESMAN/SERVICE TEAM MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF ME BRINGING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET REPAIRS EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS. ONCE SALESMAN SUGGESTED THAT DODGE IS NOT A GOOD CAR AND I NEED TO TRADE IT IN IMMEDIATELY. WITH CONTINUED FORWARD MOMENTUM, "STANDING" ON THE BRAKES AND WITH NO STEERING CONTROL, I STRUCK A FIRE HYDRANT IN MY PATH FOLLOWED BY A LARGE TREE HEAD-ON. THE TREE COLLISION WAS SIGNIFICANTLY ENERGETIC ENOUGH TO CAUSE TOTAL FRONT END DAMAGES RESULTING IN REPAIRS APPROXIMATELY $20,000. IN ALL THREE COLLISIONS, NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I SUSTAINED HEAD TRAUMA AND WAS UNCONSCIOUS WHEN EMS/POLICE ARRIVED. I WAS DIAGNOSED IN THE ER WITH CLOSED HEAD INJURY AND OTHER MVA- RELATED TRAUMA. MECHANISM OF INJURY: AFTER THE INITIAL VEHICLE/VEHICLE COLLISION, MY HEAD COLLIDED WITH THE UPPER INSIDE DRIVER'S DOORFRAME WHERE THERE'S A HANDLE. WHEN MY CAR SUBSEQUENTLY COLLIDED WITH THE LARGE TREE, MY NECK SNAPPED FORWARD AND I STRUCK MY FOREHEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. IT'S MY OPINION AND THAT OF OTHERS, THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE COLLISIONS AND HAD THEY DEPLOYED CORRECTLY, MY INJURIES COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED OR, AT MINIMUM, BEEN LESS SEVERE. *TR

A MODULE WENT BAD IN MY 2012 DODGE CHARGER. THE WIPER BLADES WERE STUCK ON HIGH, FULL SPEED, EVEN WITH THE CONTROL SET IN THE OFF POSITION. THE NIGHT TIME LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON, EVEN WITH THE DIAL SET TO AUTO, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP, THAT THE PART WAS ON "NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND THAT THERE WAS NO ETA ON WHEN THE PART WOULD BE IN." A MESSAGE APPEARED AND INDICATED BATTERY SAVER MODE. I DECIDED TO GO AND GET A PICTURE OF THE MESSAGE TO SHOW THE DEALERSHIP BUT WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ALSO TURNED ON. THE CAR WAS ALSO MAKING A SCREECHING NOISE. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK AT WHICH TIME A BURNING SMELL STARTED. AS I CAME AROUND THE BLOCK NOT FASTER THAN 5-10 MPH THE BURNING SMELL GOT STRONGER AND THE CAR STARTED TREMBLING AND I COULDN'T TURN IT OFF OR PUT IT IN PARK. THE SHIFTER WOULD JUST SLIDE UP AND DOWN NEVER PARKING. I COULDN'T TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK BECAUSE IT WOULD KEEP MOVING ALMOST WREAKING INTO MY HUSBANDS TRUCK. FINALLY THE CAR STARTED TREMBLING AND OTHER PANEL LIGHTS APPEARED AND TURNED OFF.(TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE LIGHT) FINALLY THE WIPERS CAME ON FOR A FEW MINUTES. PRIOR TO THIS I HAD ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR IN TWICE FOR THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS.

BATTERY LIGHT WENT ON, THEN THE ELECTRICAL LIGHT WENT ON THEN ALL THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO MOVE, CAR GAVE ME JUST ENOUGH POWER TO DRIVE ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD INTO THE BIKE LANE. THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T GO IN TO ANY POSITION EXCEPT DRIVE, THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN OFF, ALL ELECTRIC WENT OUT. AFTER ABOUT 25 MINUTES OF THE CAR TRYING TO DRIVE BY ITSELF AND HEATING UP WITH SMOKE, THE CAR FINALLY LOST ALL POWER AND TURNED OFF ALLOWING ME TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS. THEN THE SCREEN AND LIGHTS CONTINUED TO GO OF AND ON AND CONTINUED UNTIL A SERVICE TRUCK WAS ABLE TO TOW ME. LEAVING WORK I NOTICED MY RADIO SUDDENLY TURNED OFF, DISPLAY SHOWED POWER SAVER MODE. I CONTACTED MY HUSBAND BY CELL PHONE AND HE ADVISED ME TO STOP DRIVING IT BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN REPORTS OF FIRES, CRASHES AND LOSS OF CONTROL. I WAS TURNING ON TO MY STREET AND I LOST CONTROL OF STEERING, BRAKES, AND ALL POWER IN THE CAR. I WAS COASTING TO PARK AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. MY HUSBAND CAME DOWN TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT TURN VEHICLE ON AT ALL. NOW, I DRIVE OUR CAR TO AND FROM WORK, A 15 MINUTE TRIP 6 DAYS A WEEK. WE REGULARLY KEEP OUR VEHICLE SERVICED. THIS CAR IS COMING ON A 2 YEAR ANNIVERSAY AND I HAVE PAID FOR A NEW BATTERY, PARTS/LABOR AND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT MY CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE BUT THE ALTERNATOR IS MAKING A NOISE AND THAT IT CAN LAST FROM 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR OR DIE A WEEK FROM NOW. HOW DRAMATIC IS THAT? CHRYSLER GAVE ME A CASE # AND ADIVSED ME THAT THEY NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT BEFORE THEY OFFERED COST ASSISTANCE. THERE IS NO AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT EITHER COMPANY CAN GIVE ME TO REPLACE THE LOSS OF A LIFE IN MY FAMILY. WE WERE DRIVING AND THE ABS AND SKID LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH, ALL THE FUNCTION LIGHTS ILLUMINATED THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED AND THE CAR JUST HALTED AND STALLED. EVERYTHING WAS DEAD, UNABLE TO START AND THE WIPERS WERE GOING. THE WIPERS WERE NEVER TURNED ON BUT KEPT RUNNING DESPITE THE CAR BEING "DEAD" WIPERS IN OFF POSITION . TOWED HOME AND THEN TO DEALERSHIP (DEALERSHIP HAS NO OFF HOUR GATE ACCESS) TOLD (2) DAYS LATER THE BATTERY WAS DEAD ON A 2 YR OLD VEHICLE, THEN I RECEIVED A SECOND CALL STATING THE ALTERNATOR WAS THE CULPRIT. THE ALTERNATOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT, AND NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN THE RHYME OR REASON WHY IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ON A 2YR OLD VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS AUTOMATIC PUSH START AND WILL NOT WORK SOMETIMES UNLESS THE REMOTELESS KEY IS PRESSED TO START THE VEHICLE ON THE START-BUTTON (INSTEAD OF PRESSING WITH FINGER, USE THE REMOTE LESS ENTRY- I WAS TOLD THIS RESETS THE READING- HAVING TO DO THIS ONCE/TWICE A MONTH). *JS

ON 11/30/13 I DROVE MY CAR TO TOWN. WHEN I RETURNED HOME, MY FAMILY AND I DECIDED TO GO DO SOME CHRISTMAS SHOPPING, MAINLY FOR YARD DECORATIONS. INSTEAD OF DRIVING MY CAR, WE TOOK OUR OTHER VEHICLE. WE WERE GONE APPROX 2 HRS. WHEN WE RETURNED HOME, I ENTERED THE HOUSE WITH MY SON AND TURNED THE TV ON FOR HIM AND PROCEEDED TO FIX A PLATE FOR SUPPER, WHICH TOOK MAYBE 15 MINS. I PUT THE PLATE IN THE MICROWAVE AND HEARD THE HORN BLOW, LIKE THE ALARM WENT OFF, ON MY CAR. I WENT TO THE DOOR TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WERE FLAMES INSIDE THE CAR. I CALLED 911 WHILE MY HUSBAND RAN OUT TO TRY AND EXTINGUISH THE FIRE, WHICH HE MANAGED TO DO BEFORE THE FIRE DEPT ARRIVED. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO CHRYSLER, WHO REPORTED BACK TO ME THAT THEY ARE DENYING IT IS A MECHANICAL ISSUE. THE FIRE INVESTIGATOR FOR METLIFE REPORTS THAT HIS FINDINGS SHOW THERE WAS A SHORT UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT WHICH JUST SMOLDERED UNTIL A SPARK IGNITED SOME PAPERS IN THE FLOORBOARD. A FEW DAYS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, I STARTED TO WORK AND THE CONTROL PANEL ON MY CAR HAD COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. I HAD TO STOP AND RESTART MY CAR MORE THAN ONCE BEFORE THE PANEL UNFROZE. THE ONLY OTHER PROBLEM I HAD PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT WAS THAT A MESSAGE STARTED SHOWING UP THAT THE KEY WAS NOT DETECTED WHILE I WAS IN THE CAR.
