The alternator failed while the vehicle was in operation and it stalled without warning on the highway at 55 mph. This left the car without power steering and a dangerous situation until I was able to get the car to the side of the road. I was left stranded halfway on/off the road until I could get a wrecker to come tow. Towed the vehicle to he nearest automotive service center where I was told the alternator failed. It also shorted out the battery. Alternator, battery, and tow was $1200.00. I see recalls on the internet for my year and model car for the alternator but when I enter my VIN, it does not show up for my individual car. Why is that?

MY STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON THE SAME DAY I WENT UP A STEEP DRIVEWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AS MY TIRES SLIPPED ON SOME SAND BUT THE LIGHT TURNED RIGHT OFF. THIS TIME IT HAS STAYED ON AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE MULTI-AXIS ACCELERATION SENSOR (AKA DYNAMIC SENSOR) INTERNAL FAILURE. FIRESTONE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PART GOING OUT NOR HAS MY MECHANIC. I AM HOPING SOMETHING IS WRONG AND THIS PART GETS RECALLED AS I DO BELIEVE THE STEEP DRIVEWAY CAUSED THIS ISSUE WHICH SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I AM ABLE TO STILL DRIVE MY CAR BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOW DISABLED AS THE CAR THINKS THE CAR CAN BE UNSTABLE/UNSAFE IN CRUISE CONTROL MODE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER FOR SOME ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD A RECALL AND THAT WORK WAS COMPLETED. AFTER THAT VISIT, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THE CONTACT HAD HER BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED OUT BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND ALL WAS FINE. AFTERWARDS THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN, THE RADIO AND THE A/C, AND THE WINDOW WIPERS WOULD TURN ON BY THEMSELVES. WHEN THAT HAPPENED THE ENTIRE CONSOLE WOULD LIGHT UP AS WELL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER GOSSETT CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM 1901 COVINGTON PIKE, MEMPHIS, TN 38128 (901) 363-6556 AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY STILL UNREPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

I was driving on Interstate 15 North when suddenly my power steering stopped working. I was unable to adequately turn the steering wheel to switch lanes while I was moving 65mph. The light "Service Power Steering" started blinking and I was virtually unable to turn my steering wheel left or right. I was stuck in a life-threatening situation. I immediately had to put my hazard lights on, brake, and fight for my life to try to turn the steering wheel so I could pull over. I almost impacted the barrier and several drivers during this. My mechanic states that my power steering pump failed, without any known cause.

BEGAN FEELING VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEN OPERATING AT LOW SPEEDS, PARKING, ETC. REPAIR SHOP INDICATED AN ISSUE REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING GEAR AND POWER STEERING PUMP ASSEMBLY. BASED ON OTHER COMPLAINTS AND ONLINE RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A PERVASIVE ISSUE, KNOWN BY DODGE, THAT CAN CAUSE STEERING FAILURE AND AUTO ACCIDENTS. AS SUCH, RECALL AND REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE WARRANTED.

The power steering pump was replaced because of on and off stiffness while driving. This was very frightening because the steering wheel will not release while turning. The dealership replaced the pump about 3 times and still cannot correct the problem.

MY STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT IS BECOMING DIFFICULT TO TURN AND MAKES SQUEALING NOISE WHEN TURNED. WHEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS TOLD TO ME THAT NOTHING WAS COMING UP WRONG WITH THE STEERING ON THE CPU. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE STEERING PUMP GOES TO MAKE ANY FIXES. AFTER RESEARCH MANY OF OTHER 2014 DODGE CHARGER USERS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THEIR STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY LOCKING OR LOSING ANY CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS.

My oil cooler is cracked and leaking tons of oil. Upon further research this is a very common problem in there engines because of faulty engine design. Why is there no recall for the faulty engine oil cooler in the Dodge Charger 2014. Most Dodge Chargers experience an oil leak from a cracked oil cooling unit but there has been no recall? An oil cooler is meant to last the entire life of a car how is Dodge allowed to get away with this when they have not addressed the faulty oil cooler assembly in any recalls?

IT WAS TAKEN TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP IN NOV 2019 AND A SOFTWARE UPGRADE WAS PERFORMED WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE. I HAD TO PAY ~$68 FOR THIS SERVICE. GOOGLE/WEB DISCUSSIONS SHOW THIS IS A BROAD ISSUE AMONG THE DODGE CHARGER AWD, AND SHOULD PROBABLY BE CONSIDERED A COMPANY-COVERED RECALL/REPAIR RATHER THAN A CHARGE BORNE BY CAR OWNER.

There is an issue with the AWD system. There is a clunking/shudder that occurs intermittently that sounds metallic. It is progressively getting worse over time. I took it to the Dodge dealership to get looked at but they spent about 30 minutes on it and told me they could not diagnose it. They said that it could be a CV shaft starting to fail but to wait it out and allow it to get worse. Since it is only happening in AWD, that does not seem practical. I am concerned that the AWD system will fail while I am driving in bad, snowy weather and will get into an accident due to this. I did say this to the dealer but they assured me that would not happen. I drive mostly highway miles and do not have another vehicle to drive. I will also note that I had to get the transmission replaced at 60k miles.

Took car in to South Point Dodge for a recall. The Canister Vapor was replaced,as I was smelling gas fumes inside the car. It was replaced as I was told. But I'm still smelling gas fumes. I called Dodge and explained that this was the problem, as I received the code: po456: Evap system small leak. Which is associated to the recall. Evap canister that was replaced. So I was told if I bring it back in, and the Evap canister is not the problem that I will be charged 250 dollars to have it looked at. If I'm getting a code that that there's a evap system small leak and I'm still smelling fumes, it's got to be that the replacement of the canister vapor wasn't properly replaced. So I'm wanting to have the recall looked at again without me being charged 250 dollars for a diagnosis test

The battery went dead and I put a new one in then a screen comes up and says wait for the vin to be verified but does nothing I think The PCM/ECU needs to be flashed to vin and it stopped communicating. I had to buy a new pcm but it’s not flashed to my vin and I saw there was a recall.

The inside door panels are warping exposing a large gaps, that can allow hair or fingers to get caught when raising or lowing a window. Nobody was hurt. But could be a potential problem for me or others. Also warping could put pressure on door lock pins, if the warping continues, this could slow the process of existing the vehicle or a safety concern if the lock pin does not allow the lock to close.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a ticking sound coming from the engine. Additionally, the vehicle was bucking, surging, hesitating, lost motive power, and had an engine misfire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to premature wear of internal components within the engine. Additionally, the rocker arms, lifters, and camshaft were faulty. The contact was informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 206,000.

oil filter housing failed at 70,000 miles. The issue caused leaking oil to contaminate the environment and burn on the auto components that caused smoke and unsafe driving conditions. The oil filter housing failed and due to oil loss the check engine light came on. My repair mechanic said that this is a common issue and there is a limited stock of replacement parts due to the issue. Online research shows that Dodge stopped manufacturing of this part and only after market replacements are available.

I NOTICE OIL DRIPPING FROM UNDER THE CAR ON SUNDAY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON MONDAY MORNING AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ENGINE OIL COOLER AND FILTER HOUSING ADAPTER. I WAS TOLD IT IS VERY COMMON ON THE 2014 DODGE CHARGER AND THEY HAVE BEEN BACK ORDERED BUT I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE THEY JUST GOT A SHIPMENT IN SATURDAY. I WAS TOLD IT HAS BEEN LEAKING FOR A WHILE BEFORE I NOTICED IT DRIPPING FROM UNDER THE CAR. IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF THESE CARS WHY IS IT NOT RECALLED? I HAD TO PAY $900 TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BROKE IF IT WAS MADE OUT OF THE RIGHT MATERIAL AND NOT PLASTIC.

RECENTLY MY CAR WAS FOUND TO HAVE AN OIL LEAK. IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE HOUSING/COOLING UNIT FOR MY CAR. FROM DOING RESEARCH IT IS FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL 2014 DODGE VEHICLES. THIS IS CAUSING OIL TO POOL IN THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE. THIS IF THE OIL IS NOT CHECKED REGULARLY CAN CAUSE A MASSIVE MALFUNCTION OF THE ENGINE OR EVEN A VEHICLE FIRE.

The auxiliary fuel pump, located inside the passenger cabin under the right rear passenger seat, has been leaking fuel, leading to discoloration of the part and a strong scent of fuel inside the cabin. Additionally, a pool of gasoline sat atop the pump only separated by a thin plastic lid from the electrical cables leading to the battery in the vehicle's trunk. This gasoline could be ignited by the a spark or a short circuit. The Charger and Chrysler 300 from 2005 to 2023 has this design. I don't know if the auxiliary fuel pump cover is any more robust or fire suppressant than the 2014 model I possess. The dealer I took my vehicle to could not find the source of the leak and claimed to not being able to smell the obvious odor of gasoline permeating the vehicle cabin. I found out about it on You Tube, and then showed the obvious fuel link to the technician when I took the vehicle to them a 2nd time.

Two days ago my fuel pump stopped working. Upon inspection the top of the fuel pump had a pinhole on top from the metal connector inside getting to hot... Gas was spilling out under pressure and when the tank was full. I replaced the pump... The problem is the old pump shows burn marks on the inside from the original connection. And it got so hot it melted threw the top .. Please help me fix this issue as I am afraid of fire. Replacing the pump is not going to fix the problem with your connection on top being wired the way it is... I have read many reviews online of chargers and Chryslers having this same issue and I drive my family in this car. I can not be worried about the fuel pump arching and blowing the car up. Please help

The primary fuel pump (under the rear seat, driver's side) was leaking gas through the electrical connector. The electrical connector on the top of the fuel pump (exposed by removing the back seat and plastic cover), had two of the five metal pins where the plastic had melted allowing raw gas from the tank to leak through the connector. Gas would leak through connector when the tank was full of gas down to about 3/4 of a tank. The gas would collect on top of the fuel tank in the well created for the fuel pump and retaining ring - the gas leaked through at a sufficient rate that it would fill up the well and then dribble down on the ground underneath the car. The smell of gas in the car was horrendous, and when driven the gas would spread all over the rear underside of the gas tank and rear end of the car. There are many references to this issue on the web/YouTube for the Charger/300/etc - hard to believe it is not a safety recall especially since the leak is through an electrical connector that feeds power to the fuel pump!

THE DODGE CHARGER HAS A CRITICAL DESIGN FLAW ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP LOCATED BELOW THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SEAT. THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING COVER IS PRONE TO CRACKING AND THUS RESULTS IN FUEL LEAKING OUTSIDE THE FUEL PUMP AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. THE FUEL LEAKING WILL OCCUR REGARDLESS OF IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THE POORLY DESIGNED FUEL PUMP COVER DOES VERY LITTLE TO CONTAIN THE FUEL INSIDE THE FUEL PUMP AND CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE PETROL IS BEING LEAKED INTO MANY DIFFERENT AREAS THAT CAN EASILY RESULT IN VEHICLE FIRES AND DEATH. MY DODGE CHARGER IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THIS FUEL LEAK HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH VEHICLE MAINTENANCE OR DRIVING HABITS. THE FUEL PUMP IS SIMPLY DESIGNED IN A RECKLESS MANNER WHICH HAS ALREADY RESULTED IN MULTIPLE VEHICLE FIRES AND DEATH IN DODGE CHARGERS AND DODGE CHALLENGERS. The vehicle was able to restart but was inoperable. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not yet been taken to an independent mechanic or a local dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

2014 Dodge Charger electric power steering pump having issues turning steering wheel which I complain about 6 months ago after purchasing the vehicle for my son it a very serious problem concerning safety . They only recall 2014 Dodge Charger if the the power steering pump was install at specific Maufactured facilities, which is bs . Dodge should be responsible for any faulted power steering pump issue knowingly it exists. My son vehicle has this electric power steering pump issue and the manufacturer and Dodge dealer should replace due to safety issues. Please advise

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 58 MPH AND POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETY OUT! NO WARNING AT ALL! DASH LIGHTS WENT CRAZY. WARNING LIGHTS: SERVICE SHIFTER, SERVICE POWER STEERING, AUTO PARK DISABLED, CHECK ENGINE, THEN DASH LIGHTS STARTED BLACKING COMPLETELY OUT. VERY DANGEROUS! I TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAYS THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAS BEEN FIRED. AFTER READING THE ALTENATOR RECALL, THIA EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED! ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN FIXED ON THIS VEHICLE. AFTER CONTACTING LOCAL DEALERSHIPS I LEARNED THAT THERE ARE 89 PEOPLE JUST IN MY AREA NEEDING THIS SAME PUMP AND IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THIS TELLS ME THAT THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! NOW $1800 TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH ALTENATOR RECALL COMPLETED. WHILE DRIVING, I CONDUCTED A NORMAL PASS ON A TWO LANE ROAD. WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATION PEDAL, THE CAR TOOK OFF AT A DRAMATIC PACE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WELL OVER 100 MPH. DRAGGING THE BRAKE KEPT THE CAR FROM CONTINUING TO ACCELERATE TO ITS FULL CAPACITY. SHIFTING IN NEUTRAL HAD NO EFFECT AS THE ENGINE MAINTAINED ITS FULL RPM. WHILE IN NEUTRAL, THE CAR'S COMPUTER WOULD NOT ALLOW THE ENGINE TO BE SHUT OFF DISPLAYING A MESSAGE THAT THE CAR HAD TO BE IN PARK BEFORE THAT WAS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, APPLIED FULL BRAKING, AND BROUGHT THE CAR TO A STANDSTILL AS THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN AT FULL RPM. SHIFTED TO PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. I LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES AND STARTED IT AGAIN. CAR PERFORMED NORMAL. THE RIGHT REAR SUSPENSION TRAILING LINK THAT BOLTS TO THE SUB FRAME THE SUB FRAME MOUNTING BRACKET SHEARED OFF THE SUB FRAME. THIS CAR HAS WAS A RENTAL CAR BEFORE I PURCHASED IT. THE DATA RECORDED WAS RETRIEVED AND NOTHING SHOWS THIS WAS CAUSED BY ME. THE LEFT SIDE HAS VISIBLE WEAR AND STRESS IN THE FRAME, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR EVEN IF THIS CAR IS REPAIRED. THIS CAUSED A MINOR ACCIDENT MAKING ME SPIN WHEN IT SHEARED OFF. IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH THE WELDING OF THIS PART.

TAKATA RECALL WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY STREETS THE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY STARTED LEAKING OIL ALL THE WAY FROM THE TOP WHERE ITS LOCATED TO THE TRANSMISSION AND EXHAUST PIPES CAUSING A LOT OF SMOKE COME OUT BECAUSE THE OIL BURNIG HAD TO STOP VERY QUICKLY THINKING THE CAR WAS GETTING ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE WAS COLD AND IT HAD BEEN SITTING IN A PARKING LOT FOR FOUR DAYS. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC FROM A TOLL BOOTH. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND IT LOST SPEED BUT THE RPMS WERE INCREASING. THIS WENT ON FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. I DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AT 70 MPH (AFTER CALLING A SERVICING DEALER WHO TOLD ME I WOULD BE OKAY DRIVING THE CAR UNLESS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH) THEN STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. AT THE NEXT TWO TRAFFIC LIGHTS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WITH CARS BACKED UP BEHIND ME AND HONKING. THE MPH WERE AT 15 BUT THE RPMS WERE AT 2200. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT FIVE SECONDS AT EACH LIGHT THEN HAPPENED AGAIN AS I TRIED TO MERGE ONTO ANOTHER HIGHWAY THAT WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION WITH CONCRETE BARRIERS ON BOTH SIDES AND HAD NO WHERE FOR ME TO WAIT FOR ACCELERATION. THE SERVICING DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T GET MY CAR IN FOR 4 DAYS. TWO DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. THE NEXT DAY THE SERVICING DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WITHOUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THEY DROVE IT FOR THREE DAYS AND THEN GAVE IT BACK TO ME UNDIAGNOSED. THE NEXT DAY THEY SAID BRING IT BACK IN BECAUSE DODGE ENGINEERS READ THE COMPUTER CODE AND TOLD THEM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICING DEALER DISCOVERED METAL SHAVINGS IN THE PAN WHILE REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICING DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED METAL SHAVINGS IN THE PAN BUT ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES TOLD ME ON THE SIDE THEY SEE THE PROBLEM A LOT AND DRIVERS WILL CALL BECAUSE THEY HEAR A LOUD BOOM FROM THE CAR .I AM A WEEK OUT WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION AND STILL NOTICE IT DOES NOT UPSHIFT SMOOTHLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. I HAD A SMALL AIR LEAK IN THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. I TOOK IT TO GET THE TIRE REPAIRED, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE WHEEL WAS ACTUALLY CRACKED. I TOOK THE CAR TO GET THE RIM REPAIRED, AND IT WAS MAINTAINING PRESSURE. I DID NOT CHECK THE OTHER WHEELS, AS THEY WERE MAINTAINING PRESSURE. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS LATER, I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING DOWN A LOCAL HIGHWAY (APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH), WHERE THE CAR STARTED SHAKING, AND I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER RIM WAS CRACKED AS WELL, WHICH LED TO WHEEL FAILURE AND A BLOWOUT. ULTIMATELY, I ENDED UP IN A CONCRETE WALL AND THE CAR WAS TOTALED.

WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT FULL SPEED A MESSAGE APPEARED ON VEHICLE INSTRUMENT PANEL: BATTERY SAVER MODE. WAS CONCERNED AS I DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE MESSAGE MEANT. WAS NOT MENTIONED IN THE OWNER MANUAL. After the repair, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would enter LIMP mode with the service engine warning light illuminated. At 65 mph with the adaptive cruse on, all of a sudden, the FCW light came on and almost rear ended the car in front of me. I lost antilock,cruse, and fcw. I also have less brake pedal. Took to Dodge dealer in Emporia Ks. Said anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit was bad. Part #68236997aa. Dodge discontinued and no aftermarket replacement. I am probably not the only person with this safety problem.

When attempting to apply brakes, the pedal sunk to the floor with no result. On subsequent attempts, the left front brake activated and locked up while there was no apparent effect on the other 3 wheels. The car veered to the left as a result of the one brake being applied, and began to travel down the road at an angle of about 45 degrees. Correction was required to steer out, the brake remained locked up and not responding to the pedal. Automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems did not activate and my vehicle collided with the one ahead. AWD seemed to activate just prior to the collision, which assisted in correcting the brake lockup. Inspection of the vehicle seems to indicate electrical issues caused a brake booster fault, and likely caused failure of the emergency braking systems to activate. These issues first appeared the day of the accident, no error messages or trouble codes were present. It appears the braking system is faulty, due to electronic controls, seemingly. The car is available for inspection. The left front rotor is scored deeply and the artifacts on the asphalt indicate that the left front tire was dragging/skidding up to the point of impact.

ON AUGUST 29TH 2016 I WAS RETURNING(DRIVING ON US20) HOME FROM SOME OFFICIAL BUSINESS, WHEN MY DASH STARTED FLASHING, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD FLASH, THE SPEED DISPLAYED WOULD GO UP, AND DOWN , AND THE CAR STARTED CHANGING GEARS. THERE WAS A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM MY GEAR SHIFT, LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO SELECT GEAR. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT , AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE KEEP COMING UP AS WELL. I WOULD INTERMITTENLY LOSE POWER STEERING DURING THIS, AND POWER FROM THE ENGINE WOULD LAG ALSO. I HAVE A THREE MINUTE, AND THIRTY-FIVE SECOND VIDEO OF WHAT WAS OCCURING. I CONTACTED SOME MECHANIC FRIENDS THAT WORK ON INDIANA STATE POLICE CHARGERS, AND THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE BATTERY SHORTING OUT. THE NEXT MORNING I REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND INSTALLED PROPERLY WITH POSITIVE POST FIRST. THIS SEEM TO RESOLVE THE DASH FLASHING SYMPTOMS, BUT I THEN HAD NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. I TOOK TO OUR LOCAL DODGE DEALER IN LAGRANGE, IN THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS, AND DETERMINED THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING PUMP WAS NO GOOD. THE POWER STEERING PUMP WORKED PERFECTLY FINE WITH NO ISSUES AT ALL, EVER, BEFORE THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES OCCURED. THIS VEHICLE IS USED TO TRANSPORT THE US CONGRESSMAN, WHEN HE IS IN THE DISTRICT ON OFFICIAL BUSINESS, AND WE NEED IT REPAIRED ASAP. IT IS MY OPINION, THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS DESTROYED BY THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES CONCERNING THE RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. IT IS ALSO MY OPINION THAT FAC LLC SHOULD REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP AT NO COST PER THE CONSENT ORDER PERTAINING TO THIS RECALL. I ALWAYS BRING MY CAR TO RANCHO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE ON 8010 BALBOA AVENUE SAN DIEGO, CA 92111 REGARDING THE "BATTER SAVER MODE". I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AND HAVE GONE IN SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY/ALTERNATOR AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD AND THE "BATTERY SAVER MODE" STILL COMES ON. THE ISSUE IS IF YOU TURN OFF THE CAR IT GOES AWAY. I WAS INFORMED TO BRING IT BACK IN IF THE "BATTERY SAVER MODE" COMES BACK ON BUT IF THE PLACE ISN'T OPENED THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO DO SO. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER SINCE THE VEHICLE RECENTLY HAD A RECALL PERFORMED FOR ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT, AND SYMPTOMS INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL - CHRYSLER P60 / NHTSA 14V-634 - INDICATE THAT MODES OF FAILURE MAY INCLUDE DISABLING ABS AND ESC. CHRYSLER STATED THAT "SOMETIMES THEY MAY NEED TO DO THE RECALL AGAIN". BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALER. DIAGNOSED AS A SENSOR FAILURE. I HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS.SERVICE WRITER STATED THAT THIS FAILURE HAPPENS ON THESE CARS QUITE FREQUENTLY, AND EVEN "GUESSED" CORRECTLY WHAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE TECH WORKED ON IT. I HAVE A 2014 DODGE CHARGER SXT WITH THE 3.6 V6 ENGINE AND THE NEW 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION. My ABS, BRAKE & ESC lights all came on at the same time on my dash. Took my car to a reputable mechanic and they told me that my abs module needed to be replaced but they were no longer available. So now I have to drive my car and worry about my brakes locking up if I have to come to a sudden stop for some reason since the anti-lock brakes are not working.

When I bought the car all brake lights were on. I took it to Landers and they diagnosed the problem as a bad ABS control module and another part connected to it. I'm unable to use cruise control and my traction control is off as well. The warning lights will occasionally go off but they are usually on. Also the manufacturer has discontinued the parts I need so I can't get them to fix the issues.

I took my vehicle into my nearest dodge dealership, which is about an hour away from where I live. I had scheduled an appt. with them over the phone in which I had to wait because they didnt have the "parts"in for the recall. This specific recall was to repair or replace the PCM, or update it if it could be. I waited for weeks, and never heard anything back from the dealer, finally I was able to secure an appointment with them. They kept my car all day and I had to hound them to be able to come get my car as they never contacted me to let me know if it was done so I could pick up my car before they closed. Finally I called and 10 min before they closed I was told my car was completed. When I went to pick up my car it was still in the back lot and parked very tightly between other cars. My 2014 Dodge Charger's heat was all the way up and this was during the summer, and it still had the throw away car mats covered in dirt inside. After carefully backing the car out of their back lot I went upon my way. I had to reset my clock as well. About 4 months go by and my check engine light came on and my vehicle was reading misfire on cylinder 1, the light remains on, the vehicle shudders at idle and smells of fuel on start. Covid happened and i was not able to get my vehicle in to the manufacturer but did get in to my local mechanic and they could not find the problem but saw what the car was doing and suggested to take it to the manufactuer again, please note it is 48 miles from my home. I was unable to address this issue until now and it occured to me that the PCM can cause these problems and due to the lack of confidence and lack of courtesy I believe that they did nothing in regards to the recall.

The contact had the vehicle towed to Ramey Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (127 Frazier Dr, Princeton, WV 24739) where the evaporated gas canister was replaced under an unknown recall; however, the failure persisted after the repair. The contact then took the vehicle to another dealer for an inspection and a diagnostic test determined that the fuel pump and the connector pump had melted; they also informed her that fuel had been leaking from the vehicle. The contact was informed that the vehicle nearly caught on fire due to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 193,000.

EACH TIME THAT IT HAS HAPPENED, I'VE BEEN CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT EITHER HITTING SOMEONE ELSE OR RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. I WOULD TRY TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD LOOSEN BACK UP. SOMETIMES IT WOULD WORK, OTHER TIMES IT WOULDN'T. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND THEY ALL HAVE SAID IT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO SO WITH THE POWER STEERING SINCE THE VEHICLE IS ELECTRIC. I EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS STATED IN NHTSA PE14022 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPORXIMATELY 65MPH. EVERY WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF FLASHING, SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE, SERVICE POWER STEERING , AND TACH, AND SPEEDO WOULD DROP TO ZERO , AND I WOULD LOSE ENGINE POWER, AND POWER STEERING. I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH HOW FCA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THE PROOF GIVEN TO THEM. THE DASH FLASHED SOMETHING IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER RIGHT BEFORE IT SHUTS OFF BUT TOO QUICKLY FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO READ IT, THE WHITE BOX THAT HIGHLIGHTS THE SELECTED GEAR TURNS ORANGE AND HIGHLIGHTS ALL GEARS, THEN TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER FALL TO ZERO. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I WAS ABLE TO RECORD THE THE DASH DISPLAY ON MY PHONE WHEN IT WAS OCCURRING BACK -TO-BACK. I PULLED FAULT CODES(U0101,U1110,U1120,U11BC,U0121,U0100,U212). I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP 2 WEEKS PREVIOUSLY, THEY JUST RESET MY CEL LAMP AND SAID BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. WE BOUGHT OUR CAR NEW, IT HAS BEEN AT THE DODGE DEALER FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER FOR 6 MONTHS TOTAL TIME IN SHOP. 1. THE BATTERY SAVER MODE COMES ON, AND THEN THE STEERING GETS HARD, THE ALT. HAS BEEN REPLACE, EXTRA WIRING ADDED TO ADD MORE GROUNDS. THIS AFFECTS THE WAY THE CAR DRIVES. WHEN THE BATTERY SAVER MODE IS ON THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING OR WORKS LESS. THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK AND PINION HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS EVERY DAY, IN TOWN OR ON THE FREEWAY. 2. THE RADIO KEEPS SHORTING OUT, IT'S BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES. THIS HAPPENS DAILY, IT QUITS, BLEW OUT THE SPEAKERS, NAVAGTION STOPPED WORKING. 3. THE HEATER KEEPS GETTING STUCK ON EITHER 100% HOT OR 100% A/C ON COLD. SETTINGS WILL NOT CHANGE. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY (IN THE LANE NEXT TO THE CARPOOL LANE) THE CAR IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE EXTREME LEFT CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO THE CENTER DIVIDER. DURING THIS TIME, I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE TIRE WAS PULLED BACK NEXT TO THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR, BUT STILL UPRIGHT AND HEADED FORWARD. YOU COULD SEE WHERE THE TIRE HAD BEEN SPINNING AGAINST THE BODY OF THE CAR. (THESE ARE KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF A FAILED BALL JOINT) UNFORTUNATELY, THE COMPLETE TIRE ASSEMBLY WAS RIPPED OFF AS IT WAS LOADED ONTO THE TOW TRUCK. CHRYSLER HAS SINCE RULED THAT THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY MY "MISUSE/ABUSE" OF THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, IT WAS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD AND VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF. A TOTAL OF $13,000 OF DAMAGE WAS DONE TO CAR, OF WHICH THEY HAVE PLACED THE BLAME SOLELY ON ME; BASED OFF OF PHOTOS THAT I TOOK AFTER THE ACCIDENT. I WAITED THREE WEEKS FOR THEM TO SEND AN INVESTIGATOR OUT TO LOOK AT MY CAR... HE NEVER SHOWED UP. THE REPAIR WORK WAS STARTED ON MY VEHICLE WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. (COVER UP??) THE BODY SHOP (WHICH IS AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE I INITIALLY PURCHASED THE CAR) HAS SINCE ADVISED ME TO LET THEM FINISH THE REPAIR WORK, AND ATTEMPT TO TRADE THE CAR IN. I HAVE EXPRESSED TO THEM AND THE CHRYSLER GROUP THAT I WOULD NOT FEEL SAFE IN THAT CAR IF IT WAS FIXED. I ALSO FIND IT UNFAIR THAT MY INSURANCE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE AND FAULTY PART.
