Here in AZ we had some strong monsoon storms and during one last week, my car was shaken from the winds and rains so bad that my driver side curtain airbag was visible. It did not fully deploy but the bag was exposed. There is a current recall on these bags but since this happened before the recall fix(at the shop now getting replaced) should insurance have been contacted before hand since this was weather that caused the partial deployment? How safe are the replacements?

We purchased our vehicle from Big Star Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, located at 15711 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. We drove 3 hours to buy this car, and at no point did the salesperson disclose the open Takata side airbag recall during the sale process. After the sale, we met with the finance director, Chris Schnooberger, who handled our payment and paperwork. He also failed to inform us of the airbag recall or the serious safety risks it posed. Our conversation in his office was recorded on their in-house camera system, per dealership policy. Once we returned home, we discovered the airbag recall through the NHTSA website and were shocked to learn how dangerous it was. We were terrified to even drive the car knowing a faulty inflator could potentially send metal fragments into the cabin. We had the airbags replaced at a Dodge dealership in Austin on or around April 29. We purchased the vehicle on [XXX]. I still have the pictures of the Carfax detailing the recall. When we called Chris to express our concern, he downplayed the situation, claiming the recall was not serious and didn’t need to be fixed. His tone and evasive answers felt dismissive and dishonest. My family and I feel cheated and manipulated. There was no transparency at the point of sale, and we believe this is a serious violation of consumer safety disclosure standards. We respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this dealership’s handling of recalls and safety notices to protect future buyers. On January 6, 2025, Countryside CDJR in Georgia performed internal engine repairs on my 2019 Dodge Charger R/T, including lifter and internal engine work. Only months later, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure while driving. The vehicle became disabled and had to be towed. This raises serious concerns of improper repair or a safety-related engine defect. The dealership denies responsibility and blames a single missed oil change. A single missed oil change does not cause sudden catastrophic engine failure so soon after dealership-performed internal work. This could be related to known 5.7L HEMI lifter/camshaft issues. I am requesting that NHTSA review this failure for potential safety defect or incorrect repair contributing to engine failure.

Outside temp was around 32F. Drove normally for 15 minutes and came to a stop. Was idling approximately two minutes and temperature gauge started climbing rapidly. High fans turned on but temps continued to climb. Turned off engine for a few mins and temps were okay. Took it to a garage the next morning and mechanic said the radiator was broken.

The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving at unknown speeds, the driver's side headlight was inoperable. The 20-amp fuse was black and burned. The contact who is a mechanic who replaced the fuse. The contact stated that the fuse was warm to the touch. The contact stated that the fuse box underneath the hood was damaged. The passenger’s side headlight was inoperable. The fuse arc was burnt and was replaced. The contact stated that the failure was caused when the headlights were in the auto position. Additionally, the fuse arc prongs were bent. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, who informed him there was no recall for the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 88,200.

The led light is supposed to have a constant voltage but in the day ther voltage is lower because the lights dim there needs to be a additional adjustment made or attachment so it causes the head light to fail

Melted headlight connector.Have replace headlight connector and headlight bulb several times. Using the manufacturers recommend bulb. 9005LN. On 3/21/23 it overheated again an cause a electrical fire behind the headlight assembly. It is fleet police car and I have several cars that have the headlight connector melted and replace.

Car overheated and caused critical damage without warning or notification. Had my 2019 Dodge Charger GT vin got the V32 recall updating the instrument cluster software, there would have been warning or any dash notification(s) and I wouldn’t have damaged header. FCA failed to assign, notify, or remedy this recall which lead to engine damage.

anti-theft device failure after break-in thieves entered my locked vehicle after it was alarmed. the anti-theft device was deactivated and doors were unlocked for thieves gain entrance to the vehicle. After entrance, the were able to roll the vehicle down the street and start the vehicle. the thieves were able to by-pass the switch from the original key fob.

The interior doors on my car are wrapping and the drivers door arm rest is broken on the inside. I see plenty of complaints on this model with the same problems and there should be a recall done. My car only has 44,261 miles and is well maintained. I was told by the dealer that my extended warranty does not cover the inside doors . He broke it down to the door trim its not the trimp it's the door interior .

I had my vehicle serviced for an oil change & inspection. But I also spoke with a dealership service rep regarding what I initially thought was some sort of electrical issue that has been intermittent almost since I purchased the vehicle from this dealership. Which is my radio going in and out and automatically changing the stations completely on it's on. The rep was very helpful in that she was familiar with the issue and informed me that it's a known issue at this point and the radio needs to be replaced. She informed me that the radio would have to be ordered and that if I had the extended warranty (which I did get on this car from your dealership) then my deductible would be either $100 or $200 that I would have to pay. She looked up my info and confirmed it would be the $100 that I would have to pay. However, when she went to actually submit for the replacement radio, the system did not allow her to and showed that for some reason my radio is not able to be replaced. The representative did tell me that should would have someone follow up regarding this. However there was never a followup until I called back into the dealership service center a few days later. And was told that the radio replacement is not covered & I would have to pay out of pocket. Was not given any explanation as to WHY. I definitely should not have to pay out of pocket (other than my deductible) to get something repaired that Dodge & Chrysler are well of is a known manufacturer issue at this point. And at this point I think a recall needs to be started regarding this issue.

Brake system Seatbelt came out of latch Approaching a red light and stopped traffic, applied brakes and no response. Ended up rear ending another vehicle. Resulting in injury to driver of malfunctioning vehicle and possible injuries to other passengers in the other vehicle . Don’t know if the vehicle is available. It was deemed totaled. It’s Unkown if there’s been any inspections as of yet. There was some kind of audible notification that occurred when driver applied brakes right before collision

I PURCHASED A NEW 2019 DODGE CHARGER SCATPACK. IT WAS PURCHASED AS A LEISURE CAR FOR WEEKEND USE. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND HAS 13000 MILES. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHIMMY FROM THE FRONT BRAKES. THE FRONT VIBRATION BEGAN VERY LIGHT BUT HAS CONTINUED TO INCREASE. AT FIRST I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY THE FACT THAT IT WAS NOT DRIVEN TO OFTEN AND THERE WAS PROBABLY A RUST BUILDUP OF SOME KIND. HOWEVER, IN RESEARCHING THE INTERNET IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP LABELED THE PROBLEM AS A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE AND FOR THAT REASON IT WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A POOR DESIGNED PROBLEM THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS REFUSING TO RECOGNIZE. I'VE OWNED MANY CARS IN MY 58 YEAR'S OF LIFE AND I KNOW THAT A BREAK ISSUE UNFORTUNATELY TAKES LOSS OF LIFE BEFORE IT'S ADDRESSED BY THE AUTHORITIES AND OR MANUFACTURER'S. THE REAR BRAKE PADS DO NOT SWEEP THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE REAR ROTORS. NEARLY 25% OF THE REAR ROTOR IS NOT IN CONTACT WITH THE REAR BRAKE PADS. THIS DIMINISHES BRAKING FORCE AND MAKES THE REAR ROTOR INCOMPATIBLE WITH CURRENTLY AVAILABLE REPLACEMENT PADS. THIS DEFECT IS VISUALLY APPARENT WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY. IT ALSO IMPACTS THE VEHICLES ABILITY TO COME TO A STOP WHILE IN MOTION. I SUSPECT THAT THE WRONG PARTS WERE INSTALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER OR THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT PRESENT.

The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact replaced the light bulbs; however, the failure persisted. The contact was unable to drive the vehicle at night due to the failure. Upon further investigation, the contact found a recall issued by the manufacturer for the low beam headlights failing or the wiring harness melting. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that upon returning to the residence, the contact and her son inspected the headlight and noticed that the headlight had melted internally. THE FACTORY HALOGEN PROJECTOR HEADLAMPS ARE GROSSLY INADEQUATE FOR NIGHT TIME DRIVING. THE BEAM PATTERN IS VERY POOR, AND ILLUMINATION OF SIGNAGE TO THE RIGHT OF THE CAR IS NON-EXISTENT. THIS PRESENTS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. I HAVE REPLACED THE FACTORY BULBS WITH HIGHER PERFORMANCE PARTS TO NO AVAIL. INCREASING THE INTENSITY OF A BAD BEAM PATTERN DOESN'T IMPROVE THE BEAM PATTERN. NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE HEADLAMPS ON THE CURRENT GENERATION CHARGER. OVERALL, NHTSA SHOULD ADOPT THE ECE BEAM PATTERN. FINALLY, DRLS SHOULD BE BANNED. WITH NO BENEFIT, ALL THEY DO IS RAISE THE COST OF A VEHICLE AND CAUSE EXCESSIVE DAYTIME GLARE.

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2019 DODGE CHARGER SXT ARE TERRIBLE. AT NIGHT WHILE THEY ARE ON DIM THEY ARE NOT BRIGHT AND THE IIHS RATING IS POOR. I'VE COMPLAINED TO MY DEALER ABOUT THE HEADLIGHTS AND THEY ADJUSTED THEM BUT TO NO AVAIL. THEY ARE NOT BRIGHT AND I HAD 1000% BETTER LIGHTS ON MY CIVIC I TRADED IN. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS POOR RATING. IT THIS REASON I'M AM IN TALKS ABOUT TRYING TO RETURN THE CAR IF THIS CANNOT BE FIXED.

I own a 2019 Dodge Charger, and it has an open recall for the airbag inflator, which poses a serious safety risk. Despite the recall being issued over six months ago, replacement parts are still unavailable. Due to this safety concern, I am unable to drive my vehicle far from home, significantly impacting my usage. Additionally, I used to rent this vehicle on Turo to generate income, but it has been delisted from the platform because of the unresolved recall. I am still responsible for monthly loan payments of $420 and insurance payments of over $400 every month which is causing me financial loss without the ability to safely operate or rent out my car. I have contacted dealerships multiple times, but the parts continue to be delayed with no estimated resolution.

I was in an accident. The other car hit me at least going 60 mph into my drivers door. NONE of my airbags deployed in the accident. My car could not move and was totaled from the accident. I was injured with a TBI from the car accident. I received no help from the manufacturer at all.

The interior door panel on my 2019 Dodge Charger began to separate/warp from the door frame on the Front drivers and Front Passengers door panels. The vehicle had approximately 32000 miles when the issue started. The plastic trim piece is lifting and peeling away from the door next to the window sill, creating a sharp edge and a gap. This separation is causing the door lock mechanism to bind and become difficult to operate. The window operation is also negatively affected, as the glass rubs against the warped panel. I have also had to replace the window motor a little over a year ago and it is again starting to fail. AJ Dohmann now Geaux Dodge in Plaquamian Louisiana replaced this. This defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety because it could impede egress from the vehicle in an emergency due to the malfunctioning door lock. It may also compromise the integrity of the side curtain airbag deployment area. I contacted the manufacturer/dealer on 02/2020, and they indicated this is a known issue but not a safety recall, so they refused to cover the repair under warranty. The issue has reoccurred/worsened and is present on multiple doors. There were no injuries or a crash as a result of this issue. Photos of the defect are attached to this complaint.

UNKNOWN 06/21 : Rear view camera stops working on occasion. Mostly when weather is bad, I don't exactly know why it stopped working occasionally, never hit the car or any problems until severe cold whether came around January 2021. On the camera screen it will just show black and say "camera unavailable check surroundings" especially in severe rain. The date June 2021 was the last time it showed the black screen while it was raining for the week of 06/25 - 06/29. 01/21 : tire sensor does not read tire pressure or read that there is a tire at all on front passenger & back driver side.

TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. WE WERE TRAVELING ON A MAIN ROAD DOING 30 MPH WITH AUTOS IN FRONT AND BEHIND US. SLOWED DOWN AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN ONTO SIDE STREET. IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN ONTO THE SIDE STREET SINCE THERE WAS ABOUT 10 % OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. YOU COULD BARELY STEER INTO A PARKING SPOT. I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK TO DELIVER THE 2019 DODGE CHARGER SRT HELLCAT TO MY RESIDENCE. I WILL BE CALLING THE CLOSEST DODGE DEALER/ REPAIR CENTER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIRS TO BE MADE. To whom ot may concern my 2019 dodge charger headlight went out on driver side after replacement light it still didn't work and replacement of box during the process of taking bub out bulb silver housing box was extremely hot…so hot it burned his hand and then he ask me to feel the light and also it was extremely hot after inspection of the car for hour in a half the hornest was melting I looked up the recall on those vehicle and seeing there was same recall of this issue on older models there is no way that hornest would burn unless it was extremely hot Every charger I see light is out also and I believe noone can find out the problem my mechanic told me hornest was so hot it burned out When I felt the light it burned me and thos is unsafe for this light to be that hot with no kind of fan or nothing When i say every car I see headlights are out I would like to discuss how to proceed from this issue If the issue is not the bulb then issue itz getting to hot and burning the hornest

When I received my car back from the dealership (Union City Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram), the vehicle was returned with a broken windshield, water intrusion leading to mold, corroded and missing components, and now both rear doors do not function properly. These issues are safety concerns and were not present before the service. This dealership severely compromised the safety and usability of my car during a recall repair. I believe this warrants investigation and potential oversight from NHTSA, especially as this stemmed from a recall they were authorized to repair.

The contact stated that there was smoke coming from underneath the front passenger's side seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing; however, the dealer was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer sent a field investigator, who diagnosed the vehicle but withheld diagnostic information from the contact. The contact stated that upon driving to Turnersville Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram (3100 NJ-42, Turnersville, NJ 08012), the dealer provided the field investigator diagnosis and the case updated information to the contact. The contact stated that the diagnosis information stated that the failure was related to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Instrument cluster and radio “monitor “stopped displaying vehicle information causing everything to disrupt driving while driving in traffic. Steering was swaying and difficult to drive. There was a recall # Safety Recall V32/NHTSA 19V-203 for the same problem so it now has the same issues.

When making a right turn at approximately 5 miles per hour the front driver side suspension arm failed catastrophically causing the wheel, brake assembly, part of the suspension arm, and a small part of the frame of the vehicle to break off and roll approximately 75 feet into traffic. This also caused my break system to fail entirely. The week of the incident the Vehicle had been driven approximately 120 miles under conditions that would be considered normal for the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated and there were no sounds or signs that failure was imminent. Vehicle is pending inspection from insurance company. The vehicles first issue I had was about a month of owning the vehicle , with the Uconnect infotainment system not wanting to turn off or on and being frozen with only showing a still image of the back camera. I fixed it after I disconnected the battery for about 2 minutes. Then I had a transmission problem which needed servicing not even a year into owning the vehicle. I had to go to the service center to have part replaced, took about a month to get replaced due to back order. Then in June of 2021 the car wouldn't go in reverse or drive. As if the emergency brake was on and wouldn't budge. Had to tow the car to the dealership and leave overnight. When the car was dropped off at the dealership it had to be shaken off the tow bed. Was called to come pick the care up the next day because "no issues were found and car is functioning properly". Now in April of 2022 the steering wheel makes a grinding sound as if it's chewing rocks inside. When it was taken to the dealership was advised the steering column would need to be replaced and the part would be available in the first week of May. When I called to follow up, they advised it would be in May 12th. I called to confirm if that was true and was told the part would now come May 26th. Called again and part won't be available until June 9th. When making turns in vehicle steering wheel sticks and power steering is disabled. feels like I'm going to crash or flip the vehicle.

The contact stated that all 4 door panels of the vehicle seemed as though they were peeling on the inside of the door, as well as, bubbling towards the top of the door. The center control touch screen began delaminating causing the vehicle to activate certain buttons control different features on the vehicle unintentionally known as phantom inputs. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the driver side door under warranty. The other three doors had not been repaired. The diagnosis for the control panel's digitizer had failed and needed to be replaced. The repair had been completed. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue who informed the contact that the additional repairs were no longer covered under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 52,400.

TL-THE CONTACT WAS RENTING A 2019 DODGE CHARGER. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY WHEN I GOT A MESSAGE ON MY DASH SCREEN SAYING 'SERVICE SHIFTER'. IT DISAPPEARED AFTER ABOUT 3 SECONDS. NOTHING APPEARED AGAIN. THE CAR WAS ACTING FINE. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR UNLOCKED BY THE REMOTE AND THEN WOULD NOT START. THE SHIFTER KNOB FLASHED RED MULTIPLE TIMES REPEATEDLY. I COULDN'T LOCK THE DOOR OR THE CAR WOULD AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK ALL DOORS AS IF I HAD THE KEY FOB INSIDE STILL. I COULD NOT START THE CAR, TURN ON ACCESSORIES OR SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR. I HAD POWER TO MY LIGHTS ETC. MY REMOTE WOULDN'T WORK FOR LOCKING OR UNLOCKING OR REMOTE START ANYMORE. I WAS ABLE TO EVENTUALLY START THE CAR AFTER UNHOOKING THE BATTERY CABLE AND REATTACHING IT. TRIED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND WHILE IN DRIVE GOING DOWN THE ROAD ON A PUBLIC STREET IT AUTOMATICALLY SLAMMED THE CAR INTO PARK EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER HAD NOT BEEN MOVED. IT STARTED ACTING LIKE THE CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN I HAD BEEN DRIVING. THE SHIFTER ONCE AGAIN STARTED FLASHING RED MULTIPLES TIMES REPEATEDLY AND I COULD MOVE THE SHIFTER THIS TIME, BUT IT DID NOT REGISTER WITH THE CAR. IT STILL ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN PARK.
