While driving, the vehicle suddenly shut off completely in the middle of the road, forcing me to come to a full stop and make several attempts before it restarted. During the incident, all electrical power was lost—I was unable to use hazard lights or blinkers, and I’m unsure if the brake lights worked when pressing the pedal. This created an extreme safety risk to both myself and other drivers. About a month earlier, the same issue occurred and the dealership diagnosed it as a “battery, fuse, array” problem, replacing the battery. The same issue has now returned, and the dealership has identified it as a MultiAir actuator failure. The vehicle is a Fiat 500X equipped with the 2.4L Tigershark engine, which has known problems with the MultiAir system. The car has only around 60,000 miles and is currently at an authorized Chrysler/Fiat dealership, available for inspection upon request. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer, no warning lights appeared before the failure, and a technical case has been opened with Fiat/Stellantis corporate.

Hi, I received a recall notice from FCA regarding oil consumption - I threw the letter out, but took the car to dealer. They found the active recall W-80, , had me do the 1500 mile test, came back but for some reason, now it is not even visible anymore. Now my check engine light is on and the oil light is on. My engine is over consuming oil and now I won't be able to repair it. I escalated it to FCA, but they can't see it either and are unable to help me. Need this to be resolved, but don't know how to.

The car had a NTSB recall on the engine. The engine needed to be replaced. After having the engine replaced I was told to pick up the vehicle which shook profusely and then had a check engine light come on only minutes from driving away from the dealership. I turn around and returned the vehicle immediately to have it remedy the situation. It took over a month and the second time I was told to pick up the car, the same thing happened again only minutes from leaving the dealership, except this time the engine started to stutter like it was going to stall. After another month of them attempting to remedy, which is now the 3rd time they told me to pick up the vehicle which was in 22nd December 2023, the engine stalled only 100 yards of driving away from the dealership in fast 2-lane traffic. The progressive deterioration of the new replaced engine after the required recall was and is clearly a danger not only to myself and my family but also to other drivers. They are now saying which is 13 of February 2024 over a month of them trying to fix it, that the car is ready to be picked up. I do not believe this vehicle is safe to be on the road. I am concerned for myself and other drivers safety if I attempt to drive this vehicle. I have been told it has been tested but they said that the other 3 times I have picked up the vehicle. There is no way to ensure or guarantee this vehicle will not stall again in dangerous traffic. I have a video of the incident with the foreman mechanic trying to start the vehicle.

My car spontaneously shifts from driving to neutral while I am actively driving it. This has happened at least a half dozen times so far. Each time this has happened I cannot get my car to continue driving, since it’s shifted to neutral all by itself and stuck there. I have to come to a complete stop, put my car in park, turn the engine off, and then turn it back on again. This has happened for the last year and is happening more and more frequently. The latest incident was 4/1/2024. I talked to the Fiat dealership and they said it looks like my car should have been included in a Transmission issue recall that was assigned to 2016 Fiat 500X cars, but for some reason it wasn’t assigned to my specific VIN.

The contact owns a 2016 Fiat 500X. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the vehicle stalled without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train) which she linked to the failure. The contact called the manufacturer who referred her to the dealer. The dealer advised her to drive the vehicle for 2,000 miles to track the failure and the contact declined. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

The Fiat 500X has a defective part, which is the Fiat Ambient Air Temperature Sensor. The dealer here claims that they replace this part at least once a month, and there are barely any Fiats on the road here. I called their customer satisfaction center and they said they are "sorry for the inconvenience" and cannot provide any assistance in the matter. The inconvenience, specifically, is: that this part is a known problem, that the entire mirror needs replaced and the door will need be disassembled to complete that work, that the mirror isn't provided in the color of the car so there is also painting involved, and the total cost is around $2,000. The part itself is just a little $10 bit, but because of the ridiculousness involved in this faulty part, the cost is bombastically high. So, that leaves me waiting for a part that is in short supply because they need replaced constantly, and having to drive in extreme heat until it's fixed. No one should have to pay thousands of dollars or die of heat stroke because of a faulty, tiny, $10 sensor.

The drivers door is defective and will not open from the outside. Upon request the inspection has a cost of upwards of $1000 and customers who drive Fiat 500x models across the US have reported this as an issue. This becomes a safety problem as if there were to be a major accident, I would not be able to be rescued through the door unless I open it through the inside. This is particularly a problem if I were to have a medical emergency. There were no warnings that appeared until this door suddenly would just not open. Additionally, this is a commonly reported issue, as was confirmed to me in person at the dealership, through online forums, and through a customer support chat attached below.

My Radio in my car went the system air bags , ESC lights up and my car while I’m driving goes into neautral so I have to shift to P to Gear for my car to drive so i went the next day told them and they had to make an appointment and told them to might as well do the recall while it was there for Dec 7 th didn’t pick my car up til the next day evening when picked up my car it was doing the same thing after I was so angry until this day I’m still dealing with this almost smashed a few times thru the back because my car goes into neautral out of no where and have to put it all the way on P to Drive again it keeps happening constant and most of the time my son is with me this a real Dangerous Safety Issue and nobody seems to be listening this car is too new to be going thru this and the history I see which is the same problem I’m going thru is either the Powertrain module or transmission module that causes and the Fiat I drive seemed to be a Dangerous i included pictures of what my radio which is the harness head unit says and the issues since radio and my car when my car goes into neautral randomly and it happens 4 to 5 times depending how long I be on the road what is says Supposedly Powertrain recall was done on the 7

Drive mode unavailable message came on the dashboard and after the traction and sports mode where not available for use. The radio also shut off while driving. Also the car switch from drive to 1st gear

2016 Fiat 500X started but would not turn off. I’ve had to get it towed out of work, my batter has died from it being on all night and a day as well. Ive had to get my coworkers to help me out and take my home after it died. The only signal I got prior was a keyless entry. I changed the batter on my key and nothing worked! I would not drive my car far in fear that it would do this far from my job or home! Dealer says that the RF Module is bad due to water leaking into the car. Dealer says that the RF module and another module needs replaced and possibly the two key FOBS will have to be replaced if the current keys do not sync up with the new RF module. I even had my battery replaced that day I went to the dealer. Thought that would help and it did for a bit.

The contact owns a 2016 Fiat 500X. The contact stated that on multiple occasions, the vehicle would not start, and the vehicle had to be jumped. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall without warning. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the battery was faulty and needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced; however, immediately after retrieving the vehicle, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 33,000.

My low pressure oil light continues to pop on and off. My pressure is reading very low numbers and not the required number needed for the oil to reach the top of the pump. The dealership replaced the censor on the car and it continues to pop up. This issue has been confirmed by the dealership advisor that it can be internal with my motor and continues to say it is not covered under the motor recall that was previously done in 2021 on my car. I have spoken with Mopar representative and they have stated that I have a 2 year warranty and that my current issue falls under the guidelines for motor recall. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer. My oil has been changed and it is full. This is a safety concern because if I am driving my car and something happens to the motor or if the motor locks up while driving, I will severely be injured after i have explained to the dealership my concerns.

SINCE AUGUST 2019 , THE 2016 FIAT 500X HAS BEEN IN FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IN AUGUST 2019 A RADIO WAS REPLACED, THE NEXT MOTH A COMPUTER MODULE WAS REPLACED, SUBSEQUENTLY SINCE OCTOBER 8 2019, THERE HAVE BEEN THREE BATTERIES INSTALLED. IT IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE, IT CONTINUES TO LEAVE ME STRANDED . TODAY IT HAD TO BE TOWED IN AGAIN. I AM GOING TO BE STRANDED AND IN DANGER. I WAS IN VAN NUYS , CALIFORNIA IN DECEMBER WHEN THEY REPLACED A BATTERY, THEN FEBRUARY 7 , 2020 IT WAS IN MESA AZ WHEN IT HAD TO BE TOWED IN AGAIN. TODAY MARCH 11, 2020 IT WAS TOWED IN AGAIN, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WILL DO THIS TIME SINCE 3 NEW BATTERIES HASN'T TAKEN CARE OF THE ISSUES. I AM PETRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. EVERY SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2016 FIAT 500X EASY AWD IN 2017, I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY HATCH LATCHING MECHANISM. I'LL BE DRIVING ALONG AND IT WILL OPEN ON IT'S OWN, WHICH IS DISCONCERTING ESP WHEN I HAVE STOWED SOMETHING AND THIS HAPPENS ON A FWY, MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR THOSE DRIVING BEHIND ME! DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, THOUGH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONTINUE TO BE LOGGED ABOUT IT. THEN EARLIER THIS YEAR, I WENT TO OPEN THE HATCH AND THE RUBBER PUSH-BUTTON FELL OUT. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK IN THERE BUT THAT ONLY TOOK A PASSENGER SLAMMING THE HATCH SHUT FOR ALL OF THE PARTS TO FALL OUT IN TO THE STREET. NOW IT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE NOR THE INSIDE. CALLED DEALER WHO REFUSED TO GIVE ME A BALL-PARK PRICE BUT DID SAY WHEN I DO BRING IT IN, I'LL BE CHARGED A $165 DIAGNOSTIC FEE WHETHER I HAVE IT WORKED ON OR NOT AND THAT FEE DOESN'T EVEN GO TOWARDS THE ACTUAL REPAIR/REPLACEMENT/LABOR COSTS. SERIOUSLY? 2016 FIAT 500X EASY SPORT AWD. I TOOK MY CAR IN LAST YEAR DUE TO A CODE IT WAS THREW RELATING TO ENGINE COOLING FAN & FOUND IT WAS ON AN UPDATED RECALL; CAR WAS STALLING BOTH WHILE DRIVING & WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, HAD EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION (1 QRT NEEDED EVERY 2 WKS), SHIFTED HARD FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND ALSO HAD ODD IDLING SOUND AT SPEEDS BTWN 15-25MPH WITH SUDDEN 'POWER BURST' AND LAST, EXCESSIVE HEAT FROM ENGINE RIGHT BEFORE IT THREW THE CODE. FIAT RECALL ASSISTANCE VERY HELPFUL AND GOT ME THE REPLACEMENT PART AND SERVICED AT LOCAL DEALERSHIP. RECALL NEVER SHOWED UP UNDER NHTSA EVEN TO THIS DAY. THE REPLACEMENT PART SEEMED TO CURE ALL EXCEPT FOR THE ODD IDLING SOUND. IT'S AS THOUGH CAR IS GOING TO STALL ANY SECOND, ALMOST A 'KNOCKING' IN ENGINE AND SLIGHT SHAKING CAN BE FELT. RECVD NOTICE TODAY FROM SAME DEALERSHIP THAT TOOK CARE OF LAST RECALL ON MY CAR. APPARENTLY IT HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE POWERTRAIN RECALL 16V529000, SO I WILL BE SCHEDULING AN APPT TOMORROW. WHEN I TRIED TO FIND THE RECALL, MY VIN SEARCH CAME BACK WITH 'YOU HAVE 0 UNREPAIRED RECALLS'??? I HAD TO COMPLETE A SEARCH WITHOUT THE VIN TO FIND OUT WHAT CAMPAIGN IT WAS UNDER. WHILE DRIVING MY FIAT 500X, IT JERKS WHEN IT'S SHIFTING GEARS OR ACCELERATING. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE WAS A BULLETIN CONCERNING THE TRANSMISSION I BELIEVE. BUT WHATEVER UPDATE WAS DONE, IT DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. I'VE LOOKED FOR INFO REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.

CAR WAS GETTING OIL CHANGE AT ANOTHER FACILITY. THE WORKERS NOTICED THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE CAR WAS MELTED AND DEFORMED. THERE WAS MAJOR OIL OR OTHER FLUIDS LEAKING. CAR WAS BROUGHT IN AND FIXED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. IT WAS FIXED INCORRECTLY AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN AFTER BEING FIXED. THE CAR STOPPED DRIVING. NO ONE WAS ABLE TO TELL ME WHY THE CAR WAS LIKE THAT AND WHY IT WAS FIXED INCORRECTLY AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THEN SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE CAR HAD ANOTHER INCIDENT AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN. THE DRIVESHAFT WAS BROKEN AND REPLACED. THESE TWO MAJOR COMPONENTS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED IN A CAR LESS THAN 2 YEARS OR 20,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT OFFERED ANY CONCESSION OR EXPLANATION. THE MANAGER EVENTUALLY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS "DEFORMED". I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. THE CAR WAS NOT SHOWING SYMPTOMS WITH THE FIRST INCIDENT ONLY LEAKED FLUID. THE SECOND TIME WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT IT WAS IN MOTION.

I RECEIVED THE ERROR MESSAGE "DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE" WITH A SERVICE ENGINE MESSAGE AFTER MY LAST REGULAR SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND OIL CHANGE. MY CAR IS AT 27,400 MILES AND AFTER THROWING THAT CODE BARELY COULD MAKE IT UP A RESIDENTIAL HILL. AFTER THE LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT, 3 MILES DOWN THE ROAD THE MESSAGE POPPED UP AGAIN AND DRIVING WAS DIFFICULT. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY FIAT 500X NOW THE SECOND TIME SINCE DECEMBER 1ST WITH NO UPDATES FOR ME.

MY 500X THAT I PURCHASED IN JULY OF 2016 HAS SHIFTED GEARS TO THE + SYMBOL 4 DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE IM DRIVING. IT STARTED IN SEPT BUT I THOUGHT I HAD IT A BUMP OR SOMETHING. IT HAPPENED AGAIN 3 TIMES I DID GO BACK TO THE BETTENHAUSER DEALER FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES AND THEY SAID I HAD TO NOT TURN THE CAR OFF AND GET TO THEM BEFORE THEY CLOSED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT SEE CODES TO THE PROBLEM .AT THIS POINT IN TIME THEY GAVE ME A LOANER TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT A WEEK WHILE THEY DROVE THE CAR. THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING. I TOOK MY CAR BACK 2 WEEKS AGO AND I DRIVE WITH A PRAYER THAT IT DOESN,T HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE IM IN TRAFFIC AS IT DID BEFORE SCARING ME TO DEATH. The contact owns a 2016 Fiat 500X. The contact stated while driving 30-35 MPH, several messages stating that the 4-WD system and the drive mode selector system were not available were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a computer software update was performed, per the manufacturer's recommendation; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure recurred upon starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.

While driving, the vehicle will randomly shift to Neutral with a message appearing about shifting gears. When this happens I cannot accelerate or brake, and cannot shift gears. The only way to get the car to operate properly again is to turn the engine off and back on. Suddenly losing the ability to drive the car while on the road like this is definitely a safety risk, to me and other drivers. This has happened on three separate occasions for me. I took it to a dealership that was unable to diagnose it as they could not replicate the issue themselves during a test drive. It appears to be the same issue that is described in recall S55. However, even though my car is listed in the recall, I was told my specific VIN is not included. The dealership says there is nothing they can do.

Driving on the highway approximately 55 MPH and the vehicle went automatically went into neutral thankfully I was able to pull off to the shoulder. I put it in park and shut the vehicle off and turned it back on again, when I shifted into drive it felt like somebody just picked up the car and dropped it. This has been an ongoing issue. Dealerships don’t know what it is. I’ve done research on this specific vehicle from other owners and they have been experiencing the same thing with this make and model of vehicle

ON JULY 20, 2019, MY 2016 FIAT 500X PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. PRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON TO START AND NO START INSTEAD ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING IN SEQUENCE. COOLANT TEMPT TOO HIGH! SERVICE TRANSMISSION! SERVICE AIRBAGS! SERVICE POWER STEERING! SERVICE ELECTRONIC PARK BRAKE! EVERY AMBER AND RED WARNING JUST CONTINUALLY REPEATS THE FLASHING SEQUENCE. OF COURSE, CAR DOES NOT RESPOND TO STARTING AND NO POWER BUTTONS RESPOND. NO ELECTRONIC BRAKE THE BATTERY IS GOOD. COOLANT IS NOT TOO HOT BECAUSE CAR HAS NOT BEEN STARTED/DRIVEN FOR 5 DAYS, SINCE JULY 15, 2019. TOTAL MILEAGE IS 10,005 MILES TO DATE! WILL HAVE TO TOW TO FIAT. The contact owns a 2016 Fiat 500X. The contact stated upon making a complete stop at a traffic light, the vehicle vibrated. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, the vehicle experienced hard shifting from second to third gear. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that three motor mounts were fractured and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the spark plugs, and an unknown seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not under recall, and the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 79,300.

BOTH TIMES, THE DEALER SAID MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF RECALL. 1ST RESOLVED DUE TO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION, SO HAVE TO ADD A QRT OF OIL EVERY 2 WKS. UPDATED RECALL WAS SENT OUT ON OCT 2019 FOR ENGINE COOLING FAN, WHICH MY MAKE AND MODEL IS NOW INCLUDED. I NEVER RECVD THIS NOTICE BECAUSE DEALER REMOVED ME FROM THE DEALERCONNECT CLAIM GLOBAL RECALL SYSTEMS (GRS) AND VEHICLE INFORMATION SYSTEM (VIP) WHEN I CALLED 1ST TIME AS NOT APPLICABLE. MY CARS SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AUG 10, 2020 AND DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE ALERT, THROWING CODE P0481, INTENSE HEAT WAS COMING FROM ENGINE THOUGH TEMP GAUGE AT NORMAL LEVELS. I JUST HAPPENED TO FIND THE RECALL ONLINE WHILE TRYING TO FIND WHAT CODE MEANT. CALLED THE FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILE (FCA) RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER THIS TIME INSTEAD OF DEALER AND THEY LOOKED UP MY VIN AND FOUND IT IS ONE THAT IS AFFECTED AND SCHEDULED THE APPT FOR ME WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE DEALER INSTRUCTION ON THE RECALL SPECIFICALLY SHOWS WHICH FAN MODULES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED (BU /FB MODULES ONLY) & WHAT TO LOOK FOR YET THE DEALER NEVER BOTHERED THE FIRST TIME, JUST DENIED ME OVER THE PHONE. WHO KNOWS WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE IT'S CAUSED AFTER ALL THIS TIME AND ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS POP THE HOOD AND CHECK IF FAN MODULE HAS A PLASTIC HEAT SHIELD OR A METAL HEAT SHIELD WITH METAL TOP HAT IN CENTER OF MOTOR INSTEAD OF A PLASTIC CIRCLE IN CENTER OF MOTOR. THIS WOULD HAVE PREVENTED WHERE I AM NOW, UNABLE TO WORK (I AM A RIDESHARE DRIVER), LOSING MONEY AFTER AN ALREADY COSTLY PANDEMIC. NHTSA SITE DOESN'T SHOW THIS RECALL YET WITH VIN IN SYSTEM?

TRANSMISSION KICKS FROM FIRST TO SECOND AT TAKE OFF AFTER STOPS. USUALLY TRAFFIC LIGHTS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE TWICE, THE KICK DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME ANYMORE, BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. IT'S A CONCERN SINCE I'VE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED TWICE.

ENGINE IS VERY SHAKY WHEN STALLED AT STOP LIGHTS, ETC. SERVICE LIGHT RECENTLY CAME ON AND CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR EVALUATION AS IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE COOLING FAN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT IS ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER WITH NO ETA. CAR CAN NO LONGER BE DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC AS IT QUICKLY OVERHEATS.

I HAVE REPORTED MY ISSUES OF MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET WEATHER IT BE 25MPH OR ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE LOOKED AT BY DEALERSHIPS AND IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. MY LAST INCIDENT LMAO THIS CAUSED ME TO FLIP MY CAN AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING 65 MPH. MY CAR TURNS OFF COMPLETELY, SO THEN I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK ONE I'M ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND RESTART. SOMETIMES THIS CAUSE ALL MY LIGHT TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. MY ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO VIBRATE OUT OF THE FRONT OF MY CAR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE I'VE BEEN REPORTING TO MY DEALER AND THE MECHANICS FOR ALMOST 2YRS NOW. I BOUGHT THIS CAR SECOND HAND. 33200 MILES STILL ON THE WARRANTY. AFTER FEW MONTHS, 650 MILES OF USAGE, A WARNING LIGHT FOR FOR THE ENGINE AND "DRIVING MODE UNAVAILABLE" STARTED POPPING UP, SO THIS A PLATE LIGHT WARNING POP UP AS WELL. BROUGHT TO FIAT, THEY SAID IT WAS THE THERMOSTAT WHICH IT WAS THEN CHANGED AND SUPPOSEDLY WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. GOT THE CAR BACK. AFTER FEW DAYS AND 125 MILES MORE AGAIN THE "DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE" WARNING POP UP... THEN THE FOUR WHEAL DRIVE UNAVAILABLE POP UP..THERE WAS ALSO A WHEAL WARNING POPPING UP. THEN OUT OF A SUDDEN, ON A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO START. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND TURN BACK ON. ONCE I TURNED THE ENGINE BACK, ALL KINDS OF WARNING SIGNS CAME UP. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT WARNING KEPT ON. SO DID THE "DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE". BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO FIAT RIGHT AWAY. THEY SAID THE BATTERY WAS NOT TIED CORRECTLY. WHICH I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT DID HAPPEN AND WHY THEY DID NOT SEE THAT THE FIRST TIME THEY LOOK AT THE CAR. I am writing to you in regard to my 2016 FIAT 500X about multiple concerns. 1. There has been an open recall on the Emissions system since 2022. I immediately followed up and was put on a waitlist as I was told that the parts were on back order. I was told I was 27 on the waitlist. I followed up every 3-6 months for an update on getting the recall repaired but was told they have no update on the parts. It is now 2025 and my registration and inspection are expired. I was informed by FIAT service mechanic that the open recall should not impact my inspection. Upon bringing it in for inspection, I needed to get the thermostat replaced, which was one of the first recalls that was rectified upon purchasing the car in 2017. My car failed inspection. I followed up with FIAT corporate and was assigned a case manager who followed up as well unable to rectify the situation. Now my car is unsafe to drive, I have gotten a ticket for expired inspection . I told the officer that there is an open recall and that I am at the mercy of FIAT. Secondly since I purchased the car I have brought it back multiple times, expressing concern that the car lags when you press the gas. If I am merging on the the highway and I am going 30mph the RPM will struggle to go over 3 in order for the car to accelerate and then it falls to 1-2 RPM. Attached are numerous photos of my constant communication of presenting issues. The entire electrical system will turn on and off on its own. Error I have gotten speeding tickets always when trying to switch lanes or am preparing for the exist because I have to compensate for the lag otherwise I will get smashed by another car. When driving 25-40 mph the engine will make a humming sound as if it is stuck in a gear. So my options are 50+ or 25 or less. Living in NY this is very difficult. I have even advocated that I believe my car is apart of the 2016 transmission recall on my particular make and model. My car is unsafe to drive and I need some guidance

THIS VEHICLE HAS 3 RECALLS AND I DIDN'T SEE THEM ALL LISTED ON YOUR WEBSITE. THE NEW RECALL I WILL ENCLOSE IN A DOCUMENT. THE FIRST RECALL WAS AN ISSUE WITH SHIFTING INTO ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND CONNECTED TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE COOLING AGENT FAN IS MALFUNCTIONING WHICH CAN OVERHEAT AND CAUSE RISK OF INJURY AND POSSIBLE FIRE IN ENGINE. I STARTED NOTICING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AFTER START UP EVEN THOUGH I WASN'T DUE FOR ONE. I CHECKED OIL AND IT WAS FINE. MY CAR STARTED JOLTING FORWARD AND BACKWARDS WHEN STARTED .IT WOULD JOLT BACKWARDS WHILE IN REVERSE. IT'S LOST POWER AFTER STARTING WHILE REVERSING IN MY GARGE. AT TIMES I WAS AFRAID IT WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING ON BACK ROADS AND WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR TURNS.ON HIGHWAY AND MAIN ROADS I STARTED SMELLING HEAT FROM FROM ENGINE AND COULD FEEL THE ENGINE STRUGGLING TO FUNCTION. MY FIAT 500X IS BRAND NEW BARELY 350 MILES...IT HAS BEEN TOWED TWICE SO FAR AND IS PRESENTLY BEING WORKED ON NOW. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT SINCE IT STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING AND EVENTUALLY WILL NOT RESTART. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND SIMILAR ISSUES. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the motherboard had failed, and the connecting wires had melted. The contact was informed that the motherboard and connecting wires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,308.

VEHICLE FOG LIGHTS HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE ONE LIGHT GETS TOO MUCH VOLTAGE, CAUSING IT TO BURN OUT THE BULB AND THE HOLDING UNIT. I THEN TOOK IT BACK, THE MECHANIC CHECKED MY ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS FINE AND PUTTING OUT CORRECT AC AND DC VOLTAGE. HE TOLD ME HE CALLED FIAT AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS BEING AN ISSUE BUT DON'T KNOW WHY. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON BACK ROADS (SO GOING UNDER AND UP TO 45MPH) THE VERY FIRST TIME THE LIGHT WENT OUT. The contact owned a 2016 Fiat 500X. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 65 MPH, a trailer crossed into his middle lane which forced the vehicle off the road and into the median. The air bags did not deploy as the other driver fled the scene. The contact stated that her son had sustained frequent headaches after the accident but had yet to seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard and then to an insurance center where they deemed the vehicle a total loss. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

For 2-3 days prior to incident, upon shifting up a gear and disengaging clutch, RPMs were higher than expected (noticeable revving sound when hitting gas pedal). Wednesday 12/08/21, the vehicle was not maintaining speed on the highway and engine was revving like it was in too low a gear. Vehicle stopped accelerating and lost speed while driving on highway forcing me to pull over and forcing a tractor trailer to swerve around me. Vehicle was disabled at that time. No warning lights were displayed on dashboard. Frederick Auto Repair in Frederick, MD says clutch needs to be replaced despite the vehicle only having ~53,300 miles. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, THE SHIFTER LOCKED, THE BRAKE LOCKED. THERE WAS NO SAFE WAY TO BRING THE VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY. I COASTED OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO THE GRASS. THERE WAS A SIERRA 1500 THAT WAS BEHIND ME THAT WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO AVOID HITTING ME. THE FIAT DASHBOARD HAD NO WARNING LIGHTS ON, SUCH AS CHECK ENGINE, OIL LOW, OR ANY OTHER INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE DEALERSHIP'S RESPONSE WAS IT NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. THERE WAS NO ADDRESSING THE FACT THAT MY CAR WAS BURNING THROUGH OIL AT AN ACCELERATED RATE AND THAT THE CAR ITSELF TURNING OFF AND LOCKING UP WHILE IN OPERATION IS "NOT A DEFECT" OR "A SAFETY HAZARD". I SPOKE WITH THE FIAT DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AS THE FACTORY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THE FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED 1/1/2020. 127 DAYS LATER, MY CAR HAS THIS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS DEFECT. FCA CLAIMS THAT NO BUY BACK OPTION AVAILABLE DUE TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. THEY OFFER TO HAVE SERVICE ATTEMPT TO FIX THE CAR BUT THE ISSUE IS WITH THE ENGINE, NOT JUST CHANGING THE OIL. THERE IS NO OTHER ENGINE THAT CAN BE PLACED IN THIS CAR TO COMPLETELY FIX MY VEHICLE. IF ANOTHER TIGERSHARK ENGINE IS PLACED IN MY CAR, THERE IS NO WAY TO DETERMINE IF IT IS DEFECTIVE UNTIL THE CAR SHUTS OFF AGAIN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING WHICH CAN RESULT IN A FATAL ACCIDENT OR INJURY. I WAS MAKING A SLOW TURN IN A PARKING LOT AND THE CAR TURNED ITSELF OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE RADIO REMAINED ON AND DASH LIGHTS/GEAR LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED BUT THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE OTHERWISE. I REALIZED IT HAD TURNED OFF SO I RESTARTED IT & IT CONTINUED TO DRIVE NORMALLY. ABOUT 50 MILES LATER I WAS DRIVING 35MPH AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON STATING "DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE" THEN ANOTHER SAYING "SERVICE ENGINE". I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID IT JUST NEEDED SOME UPDATES, GAVE IT THE UPDATES, AND SENT ME HOME. ABOUT 50 MILES LATER THE DRIVE MODE AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. ABOUT 50 MILES LATER THEY TURNED OFF ON THEIR OWN, AND ANOTHER 20 MILES LATER THEY CAME BACK ON AGAIN. THE CAR SEEMS TO DRIVE NORMALLY BUT THE DIFFERENT DRIVE MODES SUCH AS "TRACTION +" AREN'T ACCESSIBLE. IT'S BEEN BETWEEN 60-80 DEGREES OUTSIDE & CLEAR ON EACH OCCASION. IT HASN'T TURNED ITSELF OFF AGAIN SINCE THE FIRST TIME.

THE OTHER DAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID THAT MY COOLANT LEVEL WAS LOW. I WENT A GRABBED COOLANT AND FILLED IT UP TO THE MAX LINE. FOR TWO DAYS IN A ROW NOW, I HAVE BEEN HAVING LIGHTS RANDOMLY POP UP ON MY DASH. SUCH AS DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE, SERVICE ENGINE, 4WD UNAVAILABLE. IT HAS ALSO RANDOMLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING WITH MY SON IN THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. WHICH THERE OBVIOUSLY IS. THE DEALERSHIPS SEEM TO NOT KNOW WHY MY FIAT TENDS TO SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. FIRST I HAD ONLY ABOUT 25000 MILES AND IT SHUTS OFF WHILE TURNING IN A 4 WAY INTERSECTION, FIAT PLACE HAD ME TAKE IT IN JUST TO SAY IT NEEDED AN UPDATE. ALL BS FROM THE DEALERS MECHANICS. SO I CALLED FIAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ALL, I SHOULD RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM RUN TEST. THEY HAD IT FOR A MONTH AND SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY MY DRIVING HABITS AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. CAR HAS APPROX 26K MILES. DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS THIS MORNING AND WARNING CAME ON "SERVICE ENGINE. DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE". I HAD THE SUN ROOF OPEN AS I WAS DRIVING AND I KEPT THINKING I WAS SMELLING A HOT OR BURNING SMELL, BUT COULDN'T BE SURE. I POPPED THE HOOD WHEN I GOT HOME AND DIDN'T SMELL ANYTHING OBVIOUS. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RELATED, BUT JUST HAD IT IN FOR OIL CHANGE A WEEK AGO - THEY NEVER RESET THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT (WHICH WASN'T COMING ON BEFORE OIL CHANGE - THOUGH LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WAS COMING ON -- NOW LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT IS OFF, BUT OIL CHANGE LIGHT IS ON!). AGAIN, DON'T KNOW IF IT IS RELATED BUT WANT TO GIVE ALL PIECES OF THE PUZZLE. ALSO MY ENGINE SHUTS OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING OCCASIONALLY. VERY SCARY! The contact owns a 2016 Fiat 500X. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the fuel gauge indicator failed to function as intended. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with DTC: P0456 and P0452. The evaporative emission system pressure sensor/switch had failed. Additionally, a leak was detected in the evaporative emission control system (EVAP). The dealer replaced unknown parts on the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel filler neck was fractured. The vehicle was repaired three more times after the first failure. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked while driving in second gear and occasionally in third gear. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired after the most recent failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,297.

Radio unit failed due to internal short which prevents the blind spot alert, parking sensors and backup camera to no longer function. Fiat no longer manufacturers the replacement part (P/N: 6RV00LXHAA) and states vehicle is not repairable. Car is less than 10 years old and has 25k miles but can no longer be safely operated due to the failed safety systems. Other than this issue car is essentially like new and could provide another decade of use but instead must be added to the overflowing landfills creating yet more pollution. Vehicle manufacturers should be held accountable for such egregious behavior.

The day after we had a bad storm, my car's electrical system went haywire. I was driving to work and all kinds of warning lights started flashing. Then when I came to a stop sign, stopped, then proceed to go again the car car would not go. I was still in drive but the car would not go when I pressed the pedal. So I put the car in park then back in drive and it started driving again. Then a warning came on about my power steering. I get further down the road to a stop light. I stopped and when the light turned green it would not go again while it drive. So I put it in park and back in drive and it went.i get to a stop sign about 1 mile down the road and my steering wheel locked up. So I put the car in park and back in drive and it started turning a little bit so I was able to pull off the road into an abandoned parking lot. I tried to turn the car off and it would not turn off. So I unhooked the battery cable and it cut off. I had the car towed to my house. They hooked the cables back up yo get the car onto the tow truck. Once the car was home, the wheel was fine but it had some warning messages on the dashboard. So the next day it rained again. And I went outside later that evening and my tail lights and the dashboard was illuminated. My air conditioner was running but the car was not crank. So I finally got it to the shop and they are saying water got into the RHA hub; but how? I don't have a leak in my car. I've never seen water in my car and on top of that, why is my RHA hub in the trunk? Anyway, after that I looked it up and come to find out a lot of people with Fiats have been having the same problem. And they are just as upset and lost as I am.

April 2023 - While driving at ~ 35mph multiple warning light on the dashboard came on, (including traction control, AWD needs service, drive mode unavailable, emergency brake and several others) the speedometer stopped working (both the digital and analog) and a sluggish sensation was immediate (like the brakes were applied rapidly.) The car was stopped and further investigation showed that the rear brake lights were on, seemingly indicating that the brakes were engaged while the car was in park, with no one in the vehicle. The car would not shut off. The car was taken to the dealership where over 30 codes were reported. 2 sensors were replaced (one brake sensor and the traction sensor) and the dealership reported that multiple updates were performed in the 2 weeks that they had the car. Five weeks after getting the car back from the dealership the SAME condition occurred on the highway at 55mph, in a construction zone with no ability to pull off. After reaching an area where it was safe to pull off, a restart of the car (by disconnecting the battery) had all of the lights going off and the brakes functioning normally. The car was driven straight to the dealership where the issues happened again. The car now has 43 codes. They replaced the HCU/ABS module, which did not fix the issue. The car has been in the service department for 3 weeks without discovering the cause of the lights, lack of speedometer and deceleration.

I lease a 2016 fiat 500x in may of 2020. I received a letter saying there was a recall on my vehicle. Recently my car has completely stopped working. It was using up oil to fast. My car would stall out in the middle of the road. Or my car would not turn on completely. I kept up with maintenance ( oil changes etc. ) in June of 2022 my car started over heating. The day before I had just got my oil changed. I took it to the dealership. Which they told me I blew my head gasket. I don’t believe that’s is what happened. I believe something else had went wrong. Now they won’t help me fix my car even when having FULL coverage warranty. and I’ve been without a car since then.

Since the car was purchased, the electrical system seems to have an issue that no dealership has been able to diagnose or fix. The forward collision warning system will intermittently turn itself off upon starting or even while driving. The car also frequently blows passenger side lights. More recently at about 67,000 miles, the check engine and transmission warning lights came on while highway driving 2.5 hrs away from home. The car has been in and out of the shop at least 3 times over the past month and a half to try and fix the issue but they have been unable to determine what is wrong with it. They said they found metal in the transmission and therefore replaced the torque converter and valve body. However, the issue persists. A burning smell can now be detected when driving. Car is going into the shop for a 3rd time to try and fix it - leaving owner without a vehicle for another undetermined amount of time and many miles away from home (this time >500 miles away from home). The car supposedly passed all previous recalls - cooling fan, oil consumption, etc. All regular service/maintenance intervals have been kept by the owner.

The radio frequency hub has failed or shorted out from possibly water leaking into vehicle. This has caused the car to randomly stop while driving and other times to not start. The car completely stops locking the cars braking system and not allowing the doors to open. The car that has stopped working while Driving and has been stuck locations unable to start. Diagnostics said the car was fine until it has completely shorted out which has made the car unusable and no diagnostics can be run. When the car was brought into the last dealership they were familiar with this problem due to several other vehicles with the same problem being brought in. The mechanics states that this is a problem from water leaking into a part on the trunk hatch that is supposed to be sealed. There have been several cars repaired at the dealer and currently other cars currently waiting for a back ordered part to try to remedy this problem.

1 year after purchase the car started having electrical issues, hard gear shifting, turns off or fails to start on first try, car has been serviced at South Miami FIAT since the issues started. The dealer could not identify the issues and told me that they would leave a warranty order open in the event that the warranty expired and the issue was not addressed. The dealer is basically not assisting. I have recently taken my car in for the oil consumption test; at first it failed to later be told that it's working just fine. Problems do no fix themselves and I feel that the dealer is not being totally honest with the situation. I am aware that the consumer is on the losing end of this story, but I will say that I along with many others have had a less than desirable experience with FIAT vehicles. Can someone please respond regarding these issues. I know that the past 2 years have been strenuous on all, but this is my last effort to find a solution to this matter. I have reviewed many other owners with almost identical issues with their cars. Thank you for your attention

I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS CAR BUT IT'S BEEN KIND OF A DISAPPOINTMENT. I AM THE SECOND OWNER, I BOUGHT IT IN 2018 WITH ABOUT 45K MILES AND IT JUST HIT 100K A CAR FOUR YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS IT'S REALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THIS CAR IS A LEMON AND THE DEALERSHIP IS FULLY AWARE. SINCE THE BEGINNING, THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY SAY DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE, EVEN WHILE IN OPERATION. IT GOES INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT SHIFTING AND ALWAYS HAS. THE TRANSMISSION MESSES UP IF I SWITCH INTO SPORT FROM AUTO ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT ALWAYS HAS. THE STEERING WHEEL FELL APART ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND I HAD TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP, IT HAS STARTED FALLING APART AGAIN. THE DASHBOARD STARTED COMING APART AND THAT HAD TO BE REPAIRED. THE TRUNK LOCKS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT, AND ALWAYS HAS. I WILL CLOSE IT AND IT WILL IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK. THIS PREVENTS ME FROM LOCKING THE CAR AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT'LL FLY OPEN IF I TRY TO DRIVE IT. LUCKILY SOMEONE CAME TO HELP ME ANYWAY. THE ALARM AND RADIO WE'RE BOTH BLARING NONSTOP. THE FUSE FOR THE FUEL HAD TO BE PULLED, TO SHUT IT OFF. THIS HAPPENED FOR TWO DAYS IN A ROW. NOW IT WON'T START. THE BATTERY IS FINE, THE RADIO AND LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS COME ON. EVERY POSSIBLE MECHANICAL FAILURE CODE IS SHOWING UP, ABS SYSTEM, KEYLESS ENTRY, POWER STEERING, REMOTE START, AIRBAGS, CHECK ENGINE ETC ARE ALL SHOWING AS DEFECTIVE. THIS CAR IS A LEMON. POMOCO JEEP CHRYSLER IN NN, VA, KNOWS IT'S A PIECE OF CRAP. INSTEAD OF LABELING AT WHAT IT IS, THEY EXPECT ME TO BRING IT IN CONSTANTLY AND CONSTANTLY BE WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION. I OWN A 2016 FIAT 500X, UNSURE OF THE MODEL BECAUSE I WAS TOLD I WAS PURCHASING A TREKKING BUT PAPERWORK STATES LOUNGE 2. THE VIN NUMBER HAS BROUGHT UP THE DIFFERENT TWO MODELS DEPENDING ON WHAT VIN SEARCH YOU USE. ONE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE, ARE THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS. AT THE CURRENT TIME, IT HAS A BLINKER, REAR TAILLIGHT AND A BRAKE LIGHT OUT. AND WHEN ONE LIGHT GOES OUT, USUALLY 2-3 OTHER LIGHTS FOLLOW. THIS WILL BE THE 3RD TIME IT'S GOING IN FOR REPAIRS FOR THAT ELECTRICAL ISSUE. IT IS ALSO CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. YESTERDAY AFTER I FINALLY GOT IT STARTED, SEVERAL LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD, PARK BRAKE FAILURE LIGHT, TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT AND THE ESC LIGHT. WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE MODE, A LIGHT WARNING ME THE DRIVE MODE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE IDLES ROUGH. ONCE I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THE VEHICLE JUMPED INTO NEUTRAL. THE BACKUP CAMERA HAS STAYED ON BEFORE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. AROUND OCTOBER 9, I TRIED TO TURN ON THE IGNITION AS USUAL WITH THE KEY FOB. THE ENGINE WOULD'T TURN, SO I RECHARGED THE BATTERY. AFTER 10 MINUTES, IT FINALLY CRANKED. THE BATTERY IS GOOD, HOWEVER, SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY IN THE FOB. ON OCTOBER 19, I USED THE KEY FOB AND ALL KINDS OF INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. WHEN I PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE, SEVERAL LIGHT INDICATORS (SERVICE ENGINE, CHECK TRANSMISSION, ETC.) AND IT WAS LIKE SOMETHING INSIDE THE ENGINE DROPPED AS IF THE CAR SHIFTED INTO ANOTHER GEAR. THE 'R' AND THE 'D' BLINKED STEADILY. I CALLED AND ALERTED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT BREWBAKER DEALERSHIP, BUT THE ONLY AVAILABILITY WAS THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. BY FATE, THE CAR BEGAN TO OPERATE BETTER. FOR NEARLY A WEEK, THE IGNITION STARTED TO IMPROVE ALTHOUGH IT WOULD TAKE TWO TRIES. ON THE MORNING OF OCTOBER 29, THE SAME PROBLEMS REOCCURED FROM OCTOBER 19. INSTEAD OF GOING TO WORK, I DROVE THE CAR STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT IT OVERNIGHT FOR SERVICE PERSONNEL TO ANALYZE THE PROBLEM. IN RESEARCH OF RECALLS, I NOTICED THAT MY CAR IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST ALTHOUGH THE DESCRIPTIONS OF DEFECTS FIT WHAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING.

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED, LOCKED UP, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DEALER SAYS ALL FIATS HAVE SAME PROBLEM AND ONLY SOLUTION IS TO GIVE A LOT OF LEAD TIME BEFORE ENTERING TRAFFIC AND TRY NOT TO ACCELERATE AS TO MAKE WHEELS SLIP WHEN ROAD CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE SLIPPING.
