The "Transmission Fault Service Now" and "Low Temperature Will Reduce Power" messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the vehicle was turned off and restarted and returned to normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the alternator needed to be replaced. The contact was concerned that it was an inaccurate diagnosis. I purchased this vehicle $9000 cash from Toyota Morgan City in Morgan City Louisiana the end of September 2025 on a Saturday, not even a week later the car shifts real hard and it’s an automatic. You can see the rpm going up but the car steaks and then shifts hard to where it jerks. I called the car dealership where I purchased, they “looked” at the car and told me that it was not a problem they could fix because it was the transmission that Ford put in the cars. And proceeded to tell me that they were sorry that I need a new transmission but that’s not there problem and for me to take it to a Ford dealership even though I purchased from them. Why is this not a recall if you’re putting faulty transmissions in?

Been having shifting problems since I got the vehicle at a dealership, the car will hang onto the rpm’s for a couple seconds then slam into gear, mostly while shifting up. Had the recall taken care of for the bushing a shifter cable problem, the hanging and slamming shifting issue still persists. Took the car to a Ford dealership and was told that my clutch is disintegrating and that an entire new transmission was needing, quoting me at LEAST $5000. Now I don’t know about yall, but I don’t have that type of money to just throw away into a car. If the car was designed and released to the public with a crappy transmission and known to be a problem, then Ford Motor Company needs to no longer exist.

The contact stated that the shift indicator indicated that the transmission was not in drive(D). The contact shifted the gear lever however, the vehicle failed to respond while shifted into drive(D), reverse(R), or neutral. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that her husband checked under the hood and became aware that the shifter cable was loose and applied pressure, and the contact was able to shift into drive(D) and drove the vehicle back to the residence. The contact arrived at the residence and attempted to shift to park(P), however the transmission failed to engage as intended. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

The shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape failed, causing the gear shifter to appear in "Park" when the transmission was actually in a different gear. This posed a significant safety risk, as the vehicle could roll unexpectedly. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by a certified Ford dealership. They stated the failure was due to a coolant hose leak affecting the bushing, but this seems questionable since this exact bushing has been recalled previously for premature degradation (Ford recalls 18S20 and 22S25). I experienced the same symptoms reported in the recall: gear position not matching the shifter, difficulty engaging Park, and the potential for the car to roll. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I had to pay for the repair out of pocket, even though this appears to be the same defect covered in the recall. The part is no longer available for inspection, as it was replaced during the repair.

I am having a issue that is not new to ford, my ford escape is having the coolant leak issue, I already have spend more than 2k on it, still engine is over heating, Ford Escape reps and almost all the mechanic know the issue is very known, I hope this issue is addressed.

While driving to Las Vegas, I noticed the engine felt unstable and coolant levels were low. After topping off coolant, the car drove normally for the remainder of the trip, but the air conditioning intermittently blew hot air. A mechanic performed diagnostic and pressure tests, but no codes appeared. The issue recurred with repeated coolant loss and stalling sensations. The following day, the vehicle overheated on the freeway and stalled. A mechanic diagnosed a blown head gasket and cracked cylinder head, which cost me $4,500 to repair. Less than a month later, the same issue happened again. This defect creates ongoing safety concerns due to the risk of sudden stalling, overheating, and potential engine fire. I have learned that this issue is widespread in Ford Escape EcoBoost engines, and Ford has not issued a recall or permanent fix.06

My car's backup camera screen goes blue then black with message saying camera unavailable when I am in the middle of backing up my car. I literally almost hit a family passing at grocery store because of this. I bought this car this year in February from Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet. Please help fix this because It's scary to almost get in accidents daily. Not to mention my insurance would sky rocket.

Backup camera - this vehicle not included in the recall as is having all the same issues blank screen - inverted screen - works sometimes - this has been an issue for some time and I contacted the ford dealer I use who states the repair is over 400. and do not know why this vehicle has not been included in the recall.

My stereo screen went blank and I had a new stereo installed but was told the rear camera in my vehicle is defective and was under recall. When I checked with Ford, I was advised my particular vehicle did not qualify. Also, my instrument panel just went blank. This is a serious safety issue as I cannot see my milage or what gear I'm in. This vehicle needs to be a part of the ongoing recall for rear view camera and the dash should be looked into further as well

With no warning, car suddenly refused to start after parking it for a brief errand. Jump starting had no effect (battery was healthy and fully charged). Keys would switch instrument cluster on but cluster would go dark when key was turned to start position or when shifter release was pulled. After reviewing YouTube, other owners found that the 50A mega fuse connected to the fuel pump and BCM (yellow wire) would degrade to the point that its internal connection would become intermittent. This causes intermittent no-start condition and could result in the vehicle shutting off while being driven on the road. Rapping on the front panel of the battery box can temporarily reconnect the internal failure of the fuse and allow the car to start.

I was driving this car down the road 50mph when the engine turned off. The dash board indicated no rpm, no warning lights and to shift the car into park. When I rolled safely to a stop, the engine would not crank over with the key and none of the dash board warning lights were on. The issue with this was the 50a BCM fuse #9 opened but did not blow. Wiggling the main wires by the battery caused the BCM to regain power and the car restarted. The fuse was replaced for the repair.

I am deeply concerned about the lack of response and accountability from Ford regarding this matter, and I kindly request your assistance in addressing this potentially life-threatening problem. During a recent incident, my vehicle's power steering suddenly failed, rendering the car extremely difficult to maneuver. The lack of power steering made it nearly impossible for me to maintain a straight line, let alone perform any evasive maneuvers to avoid potential hazards on the road. Fortunately, this incident occurred in a drive-thru, and my children were not present in the vehicle at the time. I dread to think of the consequences if this failure had happened while driving at higher speeds or in a more critical situation. Upon taking my car to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair, I was shocked to learn that the power steering issue is not covered under my warranty. The dealership informed me that because my vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles and is now over four years old, it falls outside the warranty coverage. I find it deeply troubling that Ford refuses to acknowledge the obvious flaw in the design of the car's power steering system, especially when comparable Ford models such as the 2011-2013 Fusion have been recalled for the exact same issue. As a loyal Ford customer, I implore you to thoroughly investigate and address this widespread problem, not only for my own sake but also for the safety and well-being of countless other Ford owners who may be facing similar risks. This dangerous design flaw poses a significant threat to drivers and their passengers, and it is utterly irresponsible for Ford to shirk responsibility and shift the financial burden onto the customers.

Similar to other complaints, my son got in his 2015 Ford Escape this morning and the power steering was not working. It was very difficult to turn the wheel. When I went to check it out, I noticed a warning that there was a "Steering Assist Fault, Service Required" message. He drove it yesterday without no issue. We have seen this happen in the past sporadically but it always seemed to somehow fix itself. Sounds like there is an issue here that needs to be addressed by Ford.

We had to replace the engine about 4 years ago and we’re still getting gas smell into the cabin. About 3 years ago, we broke down on the road because the transmission quit. All our repairs have been done through Ford service department. We are now broke down again because of the transmission. Something has to be done with the Ford Escape!

Purchased my 2015 escape in Aug. of 2023 used knowing that the head gaskets needed to be replaced. Took it to a certified mechanic and had everything fixed on it. Fast forward to October of 2024 - Transmission went out had to purchase a brand new transmission had it installed at the certified mechanic. Then in July of 2025 all of the sudden it overheated. Took it back to the same mechanic and once again the head gaskets are blown. They stated that coolant had leaked into the motor and now it all needs replaced. How is this not a recall yet with everything that I have been reading. A recall has been issued for a back up camera but not this. We have been driving without back up cameras forever but we cannot drive a vehicle when every few months we need to dump thousands of dollars in it.

Vehicle overeheated and stalled. Engine light came on. Had it to garage who told me call Ford because vehicle needed a new engine. Got a second opinion a few months later, and they confirmed that coolant was leaking in to the spark plug cylinders.And yes it needed a new engine. Prior: At 80000 miles the transmission needed replaced.I was told that my my car was notorious for needing transmissions and engines.

The door panel falls off the door very easily and then becomes stuck. The door cannot open due to the panel catching on the floor of the car. This is dangerous to have a door that does not work. I brought my car to Ford to get this fixed and after having my car for 6 days, the next time I drove on the freeway it fell off again and has the same problem. I've seen multiple reports of this

A bystander informed the contact that a part had detached and was dragging underneath the front end of the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road and noticed that the skid plate or engine splash guard had detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the skid plate and inserts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact purchased the skid plate and screws from the dealer and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic replaced the skid plate and the screws; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact stated that the skid plate was replaced two more times and the screws were replaced 3 more times by an independent mechanic; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 117,000.*DT CONSUMER STATES THAT SHE INFORMED OTHER DEALERS OF THE FAILURE AND WAS TOLD THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.

AFTER HEAVY RAIN, MY HEADLINER HAS WATER THAT SEEPS UP FROM THE PLASTIC MOLDING IN THE A-PILLAR UP TOWARD THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR. THE PANORAMIC ROOF DRAIN WAS CLEARED BY THE TECHNICIANS. I TOLD THEM THAT I HAD READ ABOUT ROOF RACK ISSUES WITH THE ESCAPE WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED. IT STILL IS LEAKING AFTER RAIN. IT HAPPENS IN THE RAIN WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT A COVERED ITEM; HOWEVER, THERE IS NO "WEAR AND TEAR" AS I HAVE NEVER USED THE ROOF RACK AND HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR LESS THAN 3 YEARS. THIS HAS COME UP AS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN SO FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL/SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING IT ALREADY.

After getting a flat tire I could not get the lug nuts off by hand. They are aluminum and strip easily. Needed to call a tow truck with an air gun to get lug nuts off. Even with the air gun they strip. My mechanic says I now need 10 new lug nuts. That is after buying 8 about 2 years ago.

On July 06, 2023, I took my wife's Ford Escape to Dick Masheter Ford for an oil change and tire rotation. It is the dealership that we bought the car new. The car is a 2015 and has only 44000 miles on it. The technician came over to the service representative so I knew there was a problem. They informed me that the wheel lug nuts had swollen and the parts department didn't have any lug nuts in stock. I would have to go somewhere else to get them replaced. I did some research on the internet and found out that my problem is not new to Ford. I have bought Ford cars for my wife and me for the last twenty years and I feel Ford should offer help on my wife's car. If not replace the lug nuts then assist in changing them out when I rotate the tires again.

I got a nail in a tire the other day and couldnt get the ford lug nut off, I was told by a mechanic that the lug nut had expanded and due to further inspection I now have to replace all of the lug nuts, there really should be a recall put in to place it is a huge expense to take your vehicle to a shop

Took vehicle in for scheduled oil change, tire rotation and inspection. Upon cashing out was told they could not rotate tires because of bad lug nuts. Would have to order new ones at a cost of $227. This to me seems to be a Ford Company problem. If I would have had a flat tire, I would have been stranded as tire could not have been changed. This is unacceptable and Ford needs to fix this and I should be compensated.

Coolant leaking into cylinder causing misfire. The reason why the coolant is leaking into the chamber is because of a manufacturers defect. The engine block has impurities that eventually rusted away causing pinholes between the cylinder and coolant. This is a well known issue with mechanics. If someone has this issue and does not know the engine can seize or blow causing the engine to not work. If this happens while on a highway the potential for an accident goes way up. Please make Ford make this right. I have had this defect verified by a certified Ford dealership and two independent mechanics. This is a costly repair due to the entire engine being defective from the bad casting.

Malfunctioning Canister Purge Valve. There was a recall for the Ford Focus but not the Escape. We have an Escape in the same date range as the Focus recall and are having the same issue. Our Purge Valve is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

The vehicle has completely shut off while driving on several occasions now. The first time it happened we had it towed and ended up replacing the battery. The 2nd time we put it back to park and restarted the vehicle and assumed it was just a fluke. It has happened 2 more times now within the last few weeks and it is a very serious concern. Mechanics have no idea what is happening or what's causing the issue. I have done some research and it seems this is a common issue with this vehicle. There needs to be a recall/fix for this problem as it could cause an accident and cost someone their life. We do not feel safe driving the vehicle anymore.

UNKNOWN, but appears like other version of Ford Escape the 2015 suffers from the same fuel pump issues. On at least 10 moments the car stalls and dies during driving. When brought to Fords attention, they have on 2 times indicated that no error codes or way of duplicating problem. I had independent car repair place as well look into the issue with the same response. We now only drive the car if we have to and only in short areas where we are not driving on the freeway and if we can walk home. Please add this to the recalls.

My vehicle overheated on a drive home from work on an expressway doing approximately 72mph. Without any warning, my car flashed a notification that the engine temperature was too hot and I needed to stop safely. The car would not accelerate, in fact, it decelerated the next 4 miles before I could find a gas station to stop. The coolant reservoir was empty (which was full when I started my car) so I refilled it again. I did end up replacing the coolant reservoir but this issue kept recurring. Fast forward 2 weeks and my car decided it didn’t want to accelerate on my drive home from work. I took it to a local mechanic who said there was oil soaking up the spark plug in the 4th cylinder. Said mechanic replaced all 4 plugs, coil packs and valve cover gasket. I live in Michigan and the heat has been extensive the last couple of weeks. I noticed an oil leak under my car during the hot weather. However yesterday ([XXX]) the temperature here was in the 70’s and the leak wasn’t as bad. I decided to google “2015 Ford Escape 1.6L oil leak during hot weather” and discovered that this is a KNOWN issue and that there could potentially be a recall. I went on the NHTSA website, plugged in my VIN and found there is currently no recall. Ford needs to realize that their consumers purchase cars because they need them to get to work, dr appointments, church and common errands for everyday people. With the economy being the way it is, we can’t afford to continue dropping $1,000’s of our hard earned money on a regular basis. I’ve kept up the routine maintenance on my vehicle, and constantly defend Ford products because this is the first major engine incident I’ve experienced with my vehicle. Please contact Ford and implore them to make things right for the countless people that are experiencing the same issue as I currently am. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THE FORD ESCAPES EVAP SOLENOIDS NEED TO BE RECALLED AS WELL??

My Ford Escape ecoboost engine had a coolant leak. It gave no warning and suddenly stopped running in the middle of the road while I was driving. I opened the engine and there was a small piece of metal that looked like it was about to catch fire. I have visited the ford dealership multi times asking for them to repair car and fix any known issues and they ignored this well known problem with the 1.6 engines and racked up unrelated charges on unnecessary fixes (I believe) to get the most money out of me before catastrophic engine failure. If I had driven 100 yards or more I'm sure my engine would have completely caught fire.

I had drove my car to chick fil a. I was inside for less than 5 minutes waiting on my order. When I came back outside my car was on fire. I’ve read articles about many other people having problems with their Ford Escaped catching fire. https://www.fordescape.org/threads/2014-ford-escape-engine-fire.88258/ If I had stayed in my car for a few more minutes I could’ve been inside and I could be dead right now. There seems to be a issue with the 2013 and 2014 model years combusting suddenly but, I think they need to include the 2015 model.

The 6F35 transmission in my vehicle is shuddering and it seems like it’s going to possibly mess up my engine or anything else soon. It also jerks a bit forward from 0-25 along with gears slipping. This has almost caused an accident for me.

Vehicle was inspected by third party shop and a Ford Dealership. Both indicated that this is a manufacturer error and should be considered a recall. Lots of different Ford models have experienced this manufacturing error and this issue was considered a recall. This includes: 2015-2018 Ford Edge 2017-2019 Fusion/MKZ 2017-2019 Escape 2017-2019 MKC My 2015 Ford Escape is built incredibly similar or the exact same as these other models and since it is experiencing the same issue as these other models, the recall should extend to mine and be covered under Ford as a recall. vehicle "slips" with acceleration and antifreeze is leaking in engine block which is a documented recurrent issue with ecoboost engine. I am fearful for safety as noted fire hazard which has been stated in past and is documented as part of lawsuit for same engine in Canada/US. Additionally the noted loss of acceleration has me afraid to use on highway as can see this leading to accident (noted that other cars drive around vehicle when forced to use on side streets. I brought to ford dealership o/a March 2023 (Sedano Ford, La Mesa CA) and they quoted over 10k to fix the safety issue and stated Ford will not do anything to assist when I stated that thought should be fixed as safety issue and latent defect that known by manufacturer when under warranty and pretty sure before bought vehicle . As this is latent defect, belief is that ford should fix vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate and reliable as would not have bought vehicle if known of issues . Additionally called Ford customer service dept. to see if would assist with issue o/a Aug 2023 which informed that issue was not covered and no record of issue... PLEASE FIX MY VEHICLE TO ENSURE SAFE TRANSPORTATION The contact stated that antifreeze is leaking into cylinder 3 and after dealership checked the vehicle they confirmed that more than just spark plug needed to be replaced.

My Ford Escape was fitted with two Cooper tires (235/55 R 17) that had to be replaced with less than 20k miles on them. After using the tires in normal city/highway situations, both tires started to bulge causing vibration when driving the vehicle. This was due to the belts breaking within the tire. While this specific tire is not currently under recall, I believe it should be. There is no reason these tires should've worn out so quickly and it sounds like the exact same issue many of their other tires currently under recall have. They are well under their warranty of 80k miles, but I will not put another Cooper tire on my car. I've only included the TIN from one tire, because I do not have the TIN for the first one that bulged. It has already been removed and disposed of. This happened to both of my Coopers in each rear position of my car.

All four of my 235/55R17 103V XL tires are dry rotting. They are separating and creating a crack all along the tire shoulder. I bought these tires brand new in January 2020, they are not even 3 years old yet. The tires can blow due to the dry rotting causing me to crash, getting them replaced ASAP. No warning to them getting worse, until I did a tire check early this month.

MY WIFE EXPERIENCED A SECOND TIRE FAILURE TODAY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. OUR 2015 FORD ESCAPE HAS 11,011 MILES ON IT. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED IN MID-JANUARY 2016 WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 9,537 MILES ON IT. THE SIDEWALL ON BOTH TIRES SHOWED A LARGE CRACK IN IT AFTER THE FAILURE. BOTH FAILURES WERE NOT THE RESULT OF STRIKING A ROAD HAZARD. THE TIRE DEFLATION LIGHT CAME ON RIGHT AWAY WHEN THE FAILURES OCCURRED. THE FAILURES DID NOT RESULT IN A COLLISION SINCE THEY OCCURRED AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 25MPH AND THERE WASN'T ANY TRAFFIC AROUND. THE FIRST FAILED TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH THE SAME MICHELIN TIRE. MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH BEEN DRIVING 40+ YEARS AND I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM LIKE THIS WITH ANY OF MY VEHICLES OR WITH A MICHELIN TIRE IN THE PAST. I STRONGLY SUSPECT THERE IS A DESIGN ISSUE OR MANUFACTURE DEFECT WITH THESE TIRES. IT HAS BEEN A RARE INSTANCE WHEN THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATED ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM RELUCTANT TO DO SO WITH THESE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE, AND EQUALLY RELUCTANT TO REPLACE THIS SECOND FAILURE WITH A LIKE MICHELIN CONSIDERING THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE FOUND REGISTERED WITH THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION AFTER RESEARCHING THIS TIRE ON THE NHTSA.GOV WEBSITE. MY WIFE HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THIS BRAND NEW CAR AFTER ONLY ABOUT 1,600 MILES. THE TIRES ON THIS NEW CAR ARE THE CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT 235/45 R19 95H. THERE APPEARED TO BE A SMALL GASH/SLIT TOWARD THE RIM OF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE -- ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRE. MY WIFE DOES NOT RECALL DRIVING OVER ANY ROAD HAZARD THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED SUCH A GASH/SLIT. THERE WAS ALSO AIR SEEPING FROM THE TIRE WHERE IT MEETS THE RIM WHEN I TOOK IT INTO OUR FORD DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHERE THIS WAS LEAKING. Rear view camera doesn't work. Ford just recalled a bunch of 2015-2019 vehicles for this exact issue but the escapes didnt get a recall. I have been having this issue for a few months now. The screen with go blue or black and then say no camera available.

I HAVE OWNED MY 2015 ESCAPE SINCE MARCH 2016. BEGINNING 6 WEEKS AGO THE CAR FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THE FORD KEY. HAD CAR TOWED. TOLD BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED BOTH CAR AND KEY FOB BATTERIES. WITHIN 7 DAYS THE CAR REFUSED TO START AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE FOR 3 DAYS. HAD TO GET IT TOWED AND THE BATTERY RECHARGED. THIRD TIME THE CAR REFUSED TO START IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN LEFT SITTING FOR 5 DAYS. ONCE AGAIN HAD TO HAVE A JUMP START. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND TOLD DIAGNOSTIC INFO STATES NO ISSUES. TECHNICIAN IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CAR REFUSING TO RECOGNIZE KEY FOB OR NOT STARTING. EXPLAINED THAT CAR ONCE JUMPED STARTED RUNS FINE AS LONG AS I DRIVE IT DAY TO DAY. TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE REAR HINGES AND SAID THEY ARE BENT SO WHEN YOU CLOSE THE HATCH USING THE BUTTON ON THE HATCH OR KEY FOB, HATCH COMES DOWN BUT WON'T LATCH TIGHT AND GOES BACK OPEN. IF YOU MANUALLY SLAM THE HATCH SHUT, THE LATCH SEEMED TO BE TIGHT HOWEVER MY HATCH IS NOT SQUARE ANYMORE. IT IS TIGHT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT HAS A 1/4 GAP ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHICH LETS IN AIR AND WATER INTO THE CAR. TOLD THAT I'D NEED TO HAVE A BODY SHOP TAKE THE HATCH OFF AND REPLACE BOTH HINGES. THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT NOR HAS IT BEEN TREATED ROUGHLY SO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE HATCH GOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT TO THE POINT IT IS CAUSING ISSUES WITH SHUTTING TIGHTLY? My 2015 Ford Escape, VIN [XXX], equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, has experienced a repeat engine failure due to what appears to be the known “coolant intrusion” defect currently under active litigation (Miller v. Ford). The original engine failed due to loss of coolant into the cylinders, causing rough idle, misfires, abnormal engine noise, and loss of performance. Ford replaced the entire engine under warranty approximately 24.5 months ago. The replacement engine is now exhibiting the same symptoms, including: Rough/unstable idle, especially on startup Abnormally loud engine noise Suspected internal coolant loss with no visible external leaks Reduced performance and hesitation This is the second major engine failure in a short time, creating a serious safety concern due to potential sudden loss of power while driving. The EcoBoost coolant intrusion defect is widely reported in Ford Escapes from this model year and is the subject of a class action lawsuit. Ford has not issued a recall for all affected vehicles, leaving owners at risk of repeated engine failures. I am submitting this complaint to document the repeat failure, as it poses a risk to safe operation and may affect other vehicles on the road. I was unable to accelerate and was able to "limp" to the side of the road. Very scary and VERY dangerous. My child and I are lucky something worse did not happen. Root cause lack of coolant circulation resulting in the engine overheating. This possibly has caused a crack in the cylinder head, resulting in a pressurized oil leak that, in the presence of a heat source such as a hot engine surface, increases the risk of an under-hood fire. Through research, I found this is a known issue with my vehicle and besides a limited recall (of which my VIN is excluded) there is a class action pending in California. I contact FORD customer service and its answer was my VIN isn't included in the recall so nothing they could do. When I brought up on FORD's knowledge and request for someone in its escalation team to call me, they said a supervisor would call and the customer service supervisor said- my issue because my VIN not included in the recall. There have been 30+ cases of engine fires related to this issue and hundreds if not thousands of FORD owners affected. How is the NHTSA not taking action? This is very dangerous and a very expensive cost to consumers who were misled by FORD to purchase these dangerous lemons. This is a dangerous defect that FORD has known about for years. After getting gas in car wife started car and attempted to pull from gas pump. Steering was hard to steer and information light illuminated.(Steering assist fault Service required). This by some may not be considered a safety issue, but if it happens in heavy traffic this could be very serious to other drivers around you. Reading all the reports and seeing the other model years ford has recalled for steering. I believe that ford should issue a recall or at least reimburse owners for the cost of replacement.

rack & pinion, and power steering assist fault. I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety issue I recently encountered with my 2015 Ford Escape. I am deeply concerned about the lack of response and accountability from Ford regarding this matter, and I kindly request your assistance in addressing this potentially life-threatening problem. During a recent incident, my vehicle's power steering suddenly failed, rendering the car extremely difficult to maneuver. The lack of power steering made it nearly impossible for me to maintain a straight line, let alone perform any evasive maneuvers to avoid potential hazards on the road. Fortunately, this incident occurred in a drive-thru, and my children were not present in the vehicle at the time. I dread to think of the consequences if this failure had happened while driving at higher speeds or in a more critical situation. Upon taking my car to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair, I was shocked to learn that the power steering issue is not covered under my warranty. The dealership informed me that because my vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles and is now over four years old, it falls outside the warranty coverage. I find it deeply troubling that Ford refuses to acknowledge the obvious flaw in the design of the car's power steering system, especially when comparable Ford models such as the 2011-2013 Fusion have been recalled for the exact same issue. As a loyal Ford customer, I implore you to thoroughly investigate and address this widespread problem, not only for my own sake but also for the safety and well-being of countless other Ford owners who may be facing similar risks. This dangerous design flaw poses a significant threat to drivers and their passengers, and it is utterly irresponsible for Ford to shirk responsibility and shift the financial burden onto the customers.

2015 Ford Escape. Electronic automatic power steering failed in traffic taking 90year old to the doctor. Had it towed. After restarting car the steering worked. Been happening randomly but last week 3times in one afternoon. Ford dealer replaced defective parts. Said there is a recall for older models. Why not 2015? It was a moving safety hazard that Ford should have rectified before we were put at risk. The repair cost us $3100. Been reading other 2015 Escape owners have had similar incidents.

I WAS DRIVING IN MAINE. I'M NOT SURE IF I HIT A PATCH OF ICE OR IF THE STEERING FROZE UP. I WAS TRAVELING 35 IN A 40 MPH ZONE AND ON A CURVE, THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROAD INTO A BOG. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SINK AND I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR A FEW MINUTES. THEN I NOTICED A FLAME COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK ALL OF MY STRENGTH BUT I PUSHED THE DOOR OPEN AND BEGAN SWIMMING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. AS I WAS ABOUT 20 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE, IT EXPLODED. I WAS IN THE WATER AND ICE FOR APPROX. 10 MINUTES. THE FIRE DEPT, POLICE, AND EMT'S ARRIVED AND PULLED ME FROM THE WATER AND TOOK ME TO THE HOSPITAL. I HAVE 2ND DEGREE BURNS ON MY ARM AND LEGS. MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS AND THE ADJUSTER SAID THE ONLY THING THAT COULD BE SALVAGED WAS 1/2 OF MY LICENSE PLATE. I ASKED WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS AND THE ADJUSTER SAID THAT PERHAPS IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND WATER MIXED WITH THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FIRE. While driving recently, my vehicle unexpectedly lost all forward acceleration. Soon after, I discovered that when placed in Park, the vehicle could still roll freely — a dangerous condition that could lead to an accident or injury. Initially, the car was able to move in both Drive and Reverse for a short time, but it quickly deteriorated to only reversing, and then the Park function failed to hold the vehicle altogether. I have maintained my Escape according to Ford’s recommendations and have records available. There were no warning lights, no unusual noises beforehand, and no indication that such a failure was imminent. This is not just a mechanical failure but a significant safety hazard, as loss of acceleration and loss of Park lock can put drivers, passengers, and bystanders at risk.

The shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape failed, causing the gear shifter to appear in "Park" when the transmission was actually in a different gear. This posed a significant safety risk, as the vehicle could roll unexpectedly. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by a certified Ford dealership. They stated the failure was due to a coolant hose leak affecting the bushing, but this seems questionable since this exact bushing has been recalled previously for premature degradation (Ford recalls 18S20 and 22S25). I experienced the same symptoms reported in the recall: gear position not matching the shifter, difficulty engaging Park, and the potential for the car to roll. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I had to pay for the repair out of pocket, even though this appears to be the same defect covered in the recall. The part is no longer available for inspection, as it was replaced during the repair.

Ford has not fixed the recall or offered a solution resulting in our car's transmission shift cable breaking while my wife was driving, resulting in her being STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET blocking traffic. The car was stuck in the middle of the street blocking traffic and buses for about an hour until a tow truck could come. We could not shift the vehicle out of park - the shifter moved freely forward and back, while depressing the shift button, but without *actually* shifting to neutral, drive, or reverse. We could not move the car at all, despite pushing or trying to shift it. This occurred in front of our home on Friday, April 19th, 2024. A tow truck towed the vehicle to our local repair shop where they identified the broken transmission shift cable and repaired it which we paid out of pocket. This could have occurred anywhere or in a dangerous intersection with the potential to cause harm to her, others, or any of her passengers like our infant son. I was notified of this recall in 2022 by a Ford dealership and have yet to see a resolution. My concern is now that the replacement Ford transmission shift cable will exhibit the same problem as before unless they make a better cable or mechanism! This also cost us over 5 hours of labor equaling $546 + parts, which we should not have to pay for. Ford should cover this cost completely and give us a reliable transmission shift cable.

COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE CAR OFF..WAITED A MINUTE..RE STARTED IT..STARTED TO DRIVE..WENT JUST A FEW FEET AND IT DID IT AGAIN...AGAIN..NO NOISE, WARNING LIGHTS..NOTHING. I MADE A PHONE CALL..I WAS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM A CAR REPAIR SHOP. REALLY KINDA COASTED IN. OF COURSE THEY LOOKED AT IT..GAVE ME THE GREAT NEWS AS TO IT HAD CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAD IT TOWED FROM THERE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP..THEY FOUND THE SAME ISSUE. THE TOW COMPANY THAT TOWED MY CAR IN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS TOWED 4 OF THEM..ALL WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES. We have paid over 6k to replace these parts. Only to be told the car needed a new PCM computer to run. We took the car to Thoroughbred Ford in Kansas City to replace the PCM, which the part itself cost us 1k. Ford replaced the PCM and the car still didn't work after more than one diagnostic test and another associated testing, they told us it wasn't a PCM problem at all, that in fact, the engine needs to be replaced. Meanwhile, Ford wants to charge us $2300, for a car that is known for having Ecoboost issues.

All the lighting system is Ok, even the radio is working. - According to the mechanic, the issue is new one and not has been seen before.

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my vehicle lurched forward despite me depressing the brakes then would not shift into any gear or move at all. I turned the vehicle off waited 10 minutes and attempted to restart the vehicle so that I could move into a safer area out of traffic. The vehicle began shaking and would not go into gear but did roll enough that I was able to move out of the way of incoming traffic. There were no warning lights displayed on the dash and the vehicle was not malfunctioning prior to the event. The other issue has been that the backup camera repeatedly fails to function at all. Instead the screen is either blue or black and no images are visible.

The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and attempting to drive, the engine revved, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle was undrivable. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the local dealer. The rear back up camera is malfunctioning/not working intermittently. Sometimes it works, and then glitches out and is gone, other times it is a completely black screen. This started approximately 4-6 weeks ago. It says "Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership". I have since seen that 1.5M Ford vehicles are being recalled for this exact issue, but my car is not on the list. I've called Ford and the Dealership, and they've said I will have to have it diagnosed and pay out of pocket. It's oddly peculiar that this would be the same issue, and it just started at the same time of the recall. This has put others at risk because I cannot see them behind me, the car is not alerting me to people behind me, and I have gotten used to that function. I have to check to see if the camera is working, and then make sure to look behind, but even then it is hard to see. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone just yet. I am hesitant to take to dealer, as I will be without car for 2 days and have to pay the diagnostic fee, and potentially repair fee. There were no warning messages or other symptoms. One day it just started glitching.

Check engine light went on and code P1450 for evaporative emissions purge valve. After refueling vehicle, it does not start without reving the engine at a high rate and still sometimes does not start. This is a common warranty item on many Fords during the time but not for this specific VIN

ISSUE BEGAN 2ND MONTH OF OWNERSHIP 2/2015. 4TH INCIDENT ON 9/17/15 BROUGHT MY ATTENTION TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES PERTAINING TO ALL INSTANCES LEADING TO FAILURE OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FUSE. INCIDENT: TRAVELING AT 55 MPH WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF A 5 LANE HIGHWAY, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR. I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR WITHIN A FEW SECONDS AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, DASH BOARD, GAUGES, EVERYTHING SHUT THEMSELVES OFF AND THEN EVERY GAUGE AND WARNING LIGHT LIT UP, BUT NO ENGINE. I MOVED THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE KEY TO OFF WITHOUT LOCKING THE STEERING WHEEL, AND TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT DID NOT RESTART. I MADE MY ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, STOPPED THE CAR, PUT INTO PARK AND TURNED THE CAR ALL THE WAY OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS NO LONGER WORKED. THE CAR RESTARTED AND I DROVE ON. I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety issue I recently encountered with my 2015 Ford Escape. I am deeply concerned about the lack of response and accountability from Ford regarding this matter, and I kindly request your assistance in addressing this potentially life-threatening problem. During a recent incident, my vehicle's power steering suddenly failed, rendering the car extremely difficult to maneuver. The lack of power steering made it nearly impossible for me to maintain a straight line, let alone perform any evasive maneuvers to avoid potential hazards on the road. Fortunately, this incident occurred in a drive-thru, and my children were not present in the vehicle at the time. I dread to think of the consequences if this failure had happened while driving at higher speeds or in a more critical situation. Upon taking my car to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair, I was shocked to learn that the power steering issue is not covered under my warranty. The dealership informed me that because my vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles and is now over four years old, it falls outside the warranty coverage. I find it deeply troubling that Ford refuses to acknowledge the obvious flaw in the design of the car's power steering system, especially when comparable Ford models such as the 2011-2013 Fusion have been recalled for the exact same issue. As a loyal Ford customer, I implore you to thoroughly investigate and address this widespread problem, not only for my own sake but also for the safety and well-being of countless other Ford owners who may be facing similar risks. This dangerous design flaw poses a significant threat to drivers and their passengers, and it is utterly irresponsible for Ford to shirk responsibility and shift the financial burden onto the customers.

THEY SAID THE CAR LEARNS A DRIVER'S DRIVING HABITS AND SINCE SOMEONE ELSE OWNED THE CAR IT WASN'T USED TO MY DRIVING HABITS. I own a 2015 Ford Escape. The rearview backup camera intermittently fails when I first start the vehicle. Each time I put the car in reverse shortly after startup, the screen displays the message: “Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership.” After driving for several minutes, the camera usually begins working again. This is a safety concern because the camera is not available when I first back out of parking spaces, driveways, or other areas where pedestrians, children, or other vehicles may be present. The failure is unpredictable, and the camera is supposed to be a safety device to prevent accidents while reversing. The issue seems to worsen in hot weather, but it has happened on multiple occasions regardless of temperature. I have researched and found that other Ford owners report similar issues with backup cameras failing intermittently. Since rearview cameras are federally mandated safety equipment, I believe this problem should be investigated for a possible recall.

My cluster panel went dead and there was a recall for it but the first owner got it fixed and ford wouldn’t do it for me. I couldn’t afford to get it fixed and so it stayed dead. My car eventually broke down on me while driving because I was unable to read the transmission fault warning (because the cluster panel doesn’t work). I just had to buy a whole new transmission and ford is still refusing to fix their failed recall. Had it been taken care of, I would have seen the warning and not drove my car until it broke down.

NOTIFICATION CAME ON DASHBOARD STATING "WARNING, VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK." FORTUNATELY, IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SHOULDER INTO A PARKING LOT AND AVOID CAUSING A WRECK OR BEING WRECKED INTO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! While my family and I were returning from lunch and pulling into a parking space at my moms apartment complex, my 2015 Ford escape SE eco-boost, had a sudden unintentional acceleration where it basically accelerated forward and we hit a building. During this, the brakes were unresponsive, and there was building and vehicle damage. Luckily, the post to the building prevented us from driving through the entire building. I have read several reports of the Ford escape experiencing this exact problem. We are lucky we were not killed. Ford has had no recalls for this very deadly issue.

WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE IN OUR 2015 FORD ESCAPE TITANIUM, WE BEGAN TO EXIT AND FOUND WE HAD NO BRAKES. WE HAD TO UTILIZE THE PARKING BRAKE IN ORDER TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE POWER ASSIST HAD FAILED BECAUSE THE VACUUM PUMP LOCKED UP CAUSING THE CAM DRIVE TO BREAK INSIDE THE CAM SHAFT. THIS ALSO CAUSED METAL SHAVING CONTAMINATION IN THE ENGINE OF THE CAR WHICH CAN CAUSE THE MOTOR TO LOCK UP AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING. OUR RESEARCH REVEALED THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN THE 2013 FORD ESCAPE; HOWEVER, THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THE 2015 FORD ESCAPE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW/FAULTY PARTS ISSUE THAT STILL HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING; BUT THEY REFUSED AND ALSO REFUSED TO LET US SPEAK TO SOMEONE ELSE REGARDING THIS. SO, WE ARE STUCK WITH A $2,200 CAR REPAIR BILL ON A 4 1/2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH 74,000 MILES THAT FORD KNOWS IS AN ISSUE BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. TODAY, 1/29/2020 @ APPROX 755AM I WAS EXITING S BOUND K-7 ONTO COLLEGE BLVD IN OLATHE KS. THERE IS APPROX 1/2 INCH OF SLUSH ON THE GROUND. I WAS GOING ABOUT 45-50MPH AND APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET FROM THE INTERSECTION WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED YELLOW AND I TRIED TO STOP. MY BREAKPEDAL STARTED VIBRATING AND WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DEPRESSED. THE STABILITY LIGHT ON MY DASH LIT UP. I SLID UPHILL OVER 50 FEET AND INTO THE INTERSECTION. I HAD NO ABILITY TO STOP. I WAS POWERLESS TO CONTROL THE SPEED OF MY VEHILCLE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE'S SYSTEM OVERRODE ME AS A DRIVER. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED BUT THAT ONLY BECAUSE THE OTHER CARS HAD NOTICED MY LACK OF CONTROL AND DIDN'T ENTER THE INTERSECTION. AGAIN, I HAD NO ABILITY TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE STABILITY CONTROL OVERRODE MY DRIVING ABILITY. AS SOON AS I SKIDDED TO A STOP THE ESC TURNED OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE, STEER AND BREAK APPROPRIATELY. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED BECAUSE NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. I HAD A FRIEND WHO'S A MECHANIC CHECK OUT MY CAR AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS MY VACUUM PUMP FOR MY BRAKES. HE ALSO NOTED WHEN HE SAW WHAT MY CAR WAS AND THAT IT WAS AN ECO BOOST THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WHAT THEY REFER TO AS A SOCCER MOM KILLER. HE'S SEEN THIS BEFORE. WHEN THE PUMP FAILS IT SHOOTS SHRAPNEL INTO MY TURBO THEN INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE THAT WILL COST ME $5000-8000 TO FIX NOW. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WHO SAID THAT RODENTS HAD CHEWED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINES AND PUMP AREA ELECTRICAL. MADE REPAIR. NOW, DECEMBER 2016 I TRIED TO USE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID TO FIND THAT IT HAD ONCE AGAIN BEEN CHEWED. I HAVE BEEN PARKING MULTIPLE VEHICLES (NEW AND USED) IN THE SAME DRIVEWAY SINCE 1989 WITH NO ISSUES. Sunroof will not close and every time it rains it leaks so much to the point that it’s going to cause more electrical issues. I will not take this back to the Randy Marion dealership in west Jefferson NC they also sold me this car with a bad transmission which ended back up in the shop for 3 plus months. They were completely incompetent about handling the situation. So I will not go back to them. Also they sold this cat with seatbelts that are so lose if I were to have a wreck I would probably go through the windshield. They didn’t want to repair that without me handling the bill.

The cars electrical system has failed multiple times while driving leading to no headlights , brake lights and all other electrical components. we have had vehicle serviced by multiple different mechanics including ford dealership however problem persists shortly after repair each time. vehicle does not display any forewarning of failure such as no check engine lights or any indication that anything is wrong. all services and inspections show nothing is wrong however vehicle service records show electrical system and battery serviced/changed multiple time due to reoccurring problem. manufacturer says that our vin is not included in the recall however vehicle has all same issues as recalls from May 2014 to July 2015 .Vehicle was manufactured April 04,2015. how are vehicle does not fall under any of these recalls is beyond my understanding , at this point in time vehicle does not run due to multiple mechanics being unable to pin point or fix electrical issues. Would like vehicle reinspected for any of these recalls and car fixed and safe to drive.

2023 my back up camera was only working 75% of the time. I took the car into the Ford dealer and they said it is a known problem and the waiting period for the replacement takes up to a year. They recommended I keep checking back to see if it's in stock. The fee to replace is about $350. I was told I could prepay, but they couldn't give me a date for arrival of the part. They openly admit, some have waited up to a year. Here we are 6 months later and now the camera works less than 50% of the time. Ford knows this is an issue but it's not a recall item. To me this is a safety issue. I still view my surroundings in total prior to backing up, but the back up camera was always an added safety feature. I feel that this is not a cost the consumer should bear. Ford should recall faulty backup cams. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I drove at 60 MPH during rush hour on a very crowded highway. I tried to accelerate, but I was losing speed. My RPM was working, but I was not accelerating. I took my foot off the accelerator and tried again, and then the car accelerated briefly (without continuous pressure--it accelerated without me--- and again lost power. I had nowhere to stop. I got off at a ramp one mile away, coasting at 17 MPH. The "Transmission Fault" warning appeared as we entered a gas station. $190.00 tow bill. Our mechanic of 18 years diagnosed total transmission failure. My car has been well cared for, with recommended check-ups/oil changes. There were zero warning signs of trouble. The mechanic recommended this car be evaluated by a Ford dealership. The approximate cost from the Ford dealership is $6000.00. This was a VERY very dangerous situation with children in the car in rush hour traffic on a highway. I have 91,163 miles on the car with a total transmission failure.

The back up camera started appearing upside down at times or black. Then it was constant upside down for a couple weeks so we were co sidering flupping tje camera but it switched to a normal view for about a week or 2 and now it is usually upside down. This can be a safety issue. It's hard to not look at a camera that you're used to using and it's right in front of you. I know other models were re alled so this should also be recalled. I called the dealer and they said they would fix it for around $900 so it's not fixed

2015 Ford Escape, on several occasions after fueling, when pushing start, the car cranks but no start and shuts off. It took several attempts, with revving it up and, sputtering and shutting off before it cranked. No check engine indicator illuminated. There have been instances where the car parked in driveway and the same occurrence with it sputtering and shutting off. Currently at Ford dealership, diagnosed as canister purge valve. I contacted Ford reference recall, there are over a million recalls on Ford Focus for this same issue-canister purge valve, but none for Ford Escape.

They are refusing to fix the car. I am disabled and I feel like they are taking advantage of me because of that. I had an extended warranty even at the same time which obviously meant nothing. Ford Escape had a history of transmission issues prior to the 2015 vehicle I purchased used in Feb 2018. I was told the rough shifting and vehicle skipping (which started gradually the winter of 2021/2022) can be a hardware, software, shutter or torque problem. Even though there are class actions suits to resolve the software and hardware problems, Ford has not provided any assistance, instead expecting me to replace the transmission at my expense quoting the highest repair price despite not having an actual diagnostic which they also expect me to pay $169.00 for.

First problem- over the course of the last few years, the car intermittently gets "jumpy" when changing to/from different gears like (from reverse to drive OR drive to reverse, all after completely braking-not in the middle of gear shift). It has not completely stalled but feels very close to it. i had brought it in in the past and they had never found anything wrong with it. It does not always happen. Second problem- the rear view back up assistance has not been working properly for over 3 years. I will be in reverse and either the beeping continues even though nothing is around or, the screen goes blank and shuts off. I was told this would be at my expense, not a recall. this does not happen all the time but is very often.

THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING PARKED UNDER A CARPORT FOR ALMOST 24 HRS. WHEN IT INEXPLICABLY CAUGHT FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND RAN A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. THE REPORT INDICATED A FAILURE TO THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM (DEFINED AS AIRBAGS OR SEATBELT). THIS MEANS THAT IF THE SUDDEN DECELERATION WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS HAD CAUSED A COLLISION THE AIRBAGS MAY HAVE ALSO MALFUNCTIONED. IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION A POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION, AND TC, IVD, RSC EVENT OF FAULT WAS REPORTED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION. THEY SAID IT WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T SEEM SAFE TO HAVE A CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATE ITSELF WHEN A PART FAILS ESPECIALLY IF THAT CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO REPORTS A SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION AS WELL.

I HAVE BEEN TO FORD 3 TIMES TRYING TO GET HELP WITH AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF ROAD NOISE COMING FROM MY 2015 ESCAPE. THIS HAS BECOME A RECENT ISSUE TO THE POINT WHERE THE BACK SEAT PASSENGER CANNOT MAKE OUT WHAT THE DRIVER OR FRONT SEAT PASSENGER ARE SAYING. AFTER MY 3 VISITS, FORD HAS DISMISSED THIS PROBLEM WITH LITTLE INTEREST. WHEN DRIVING YOU CAN FEEL AIR FROM THE ROAD AS YOU ARE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I AM WORRIED IF DEBRIS WERE TO HIT MY CAR OR IF I WERE TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT THERE COULD BE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS. WHILE BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND AUDIBLE WARNINGS SOUNDED. THE CAR STARTED SHAKING. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP OR STEER MY CAR. I HAD A LOW SPEED COLLISION WITH A PROPERLY PARKED CAR. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS INJURED. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON AN OPEN ROAD THE OUTCOME WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT. I HAD REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO MY DEALER PREVIOUSLY. THEY APPLIED AN EXISTING RECALL SAYING THAT IT FIXED THE ISSUE. THAT WAS ON THE 20TH OF OCTOBER 2015. THE CAR IS BEING TOWED TO MY DEALER'S BODY SHOP FOR INSPECTION BY USAA. I NEVER WANT TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. I AM TOLD TO TRADE IT IN . HOW IN GOOD CONSCIENCE CAN I DO THAT??

WHEN GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH THE GROOVES IN IT THE VEHICLE DARTS BACK AND FORTH WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND CHECKED ALEINMENT SAID WAS OK DROVE FOR A WHILE BOUGHT IT BACK AGAIN WAS TOLD TO LIKE IT OR SELL IT OR GO TO ANOTHER DEALER SHIP THEY DID NOT EVEN ATEMPED TO CHECK TIRES HATTON FORD N DAK 1 MORE TIME GOING TO TURN IT IN TO THE LAWYER FOR THE N DAK LEMON LAW
