The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power with an abnormal popping sound coming from the engine compartment. The failure occurred more often while attempting to accelerate or driving uphill. The vehicle occasionally stalled during the failure. The contact released the accelerator pedal slowly and the vehicle then started driving normally. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phaser had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cam phaser part no longer being manufactured. The contact stated that the part was no longer in production because the replacement part was defective and failed to fix the vehicle. The contact was informed by the dealer that a newer version of the cam phaser needed to be purchased and was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the repair was not covered under the Warranty. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 230,774.

I TRIED TO START MY TRUCK, BUT IT WOULDN'T START. IT TURNED OVER PERFECTLY BUT WOULD NOT START. IT HAD STARTED TWICE EARLIER IN THE DAY. THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE, LOCATED ABOVE THE SPARE TIRE ON THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK, HAD CORRODED AND FAILED.

THE RIGHT EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUDS HAD BROKEN APPROXIMATELY 5/5/2012, IN WHICH THEY DID NOT TELL ME THE FULL EXTENT OF THE DAMAGES. THEY JUST TOLD ME THE MANIFOLD WAS LEAKING AND THE COST TO REPAIR IT. THIS CAUSED THE MANIFOLD TO WARP AND LEAK. THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR IT UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER I CALLED THE WARRANTY COMPANY AND FOUND OUT IT WAS ACTUALLY COVERED. WHEN I HAD TAKEN IT IN, IN MAY 2012 THE DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE 1500.00 FOR THE REPAIRS. THE REPAIRS WERE FINALLY MADE IN MAY OF 2013 TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, BUT NOT TO THE CATALYTIC.CONVERTER WHICH STARTED CAUSING PROBLEMS IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. THIS LEAK MAY HAVE CAUSED THE RIGHT CATALYTIC CONVERTER TO FAIL ALSO, BUT HAVE FOUND MANY FORUMS STATING THAT FAILURE OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ARE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE PICK UPS. AT THIS TIME I AM DRIVING THE PICK UP AND IT THROWS THE CODE P0420, FOR CATALYTIC CONVERTER BELOW EFFICIENCY THRESHOLD. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD ALSO BE FORWARDED TO THE E.P.A. BECAUSE PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THEIR CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AT THE PRICE OF 1200.00 PER SIDE. IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD F-150'S THIS NEEDS ADDRESSED. ALSO THE FAILURE OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD CAUSE THE OCCUPANTS IN THE CABIN TO BE EXPOSED TO CARBON MONOXIDE. THE LEAKING MANIFOLD ALSO CONFUSES THE COMPUTER BY TELLING IT THAT THE OF BANK CYLINDERS IS RUNNING TO LEAN IN RESPONSE TO THOSE READINGS IT THEN ADDS FUEL TO THAT BANK WHICH CAUSES IT TO RUN RICHER ON THAT BANK THAN IT SHOULD. I BELIEVE THAT THIS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER MAKING IT FAIL PREMATURELY. *TR

The contact stated that the vehicle failed to stop and continued rolling forward. The contact stated that the vehicle came to a stop once the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle returned to normal function afterwards. The local dealer was contacted; however, the dealer refused to diagnose the vehicle because of its age of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the contact's husband was driving at a slow speed, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to stop and continued rolling forward. The contact's husband stated that the vehicle came to a stop once the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V208000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.

Random brake loss due to hydraulic control unit for ABS. The loss of brakes on more than 5 occasions has nearly caused several accidents as brakes fail to engage in traffic situations. The problem cannot be reproduced by automotive repair shops due to the random nature of the events. Inspection of the component does not reveal any problem. The component functions properly 80% of the time. There has never been any warning of any sort prior to the event happening which is why the severity of the incidents are not only surprising but have put me and other drivers at risk. These HCU components have had similar failures in other ford vehicles. Recalls are listed for those vehicles such as the MZk, Fusion, Millan.

Received notification by mail from your department about a recall on my trucks spark plugs breaking in the head .Took vehicle to local ford dealer and was told the vehicle was required to have over 100 thousand miles before the plugs would be replaced under recall . Now my vehicle has over 150 thousand miles and when I went to the same dealer I was told there wasn’t a recall on this truck . My documents I received from your department was lost during hurricane Sally. This is a well known recall every local mechanic knows about .

The vehicle will hesitate once it comes to a stop after several hesitations it would just shut down you have to keep restarting it, the restart get harder and harder.

The contact owned a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, an abnormal, popping sound emitted from the vehicle without warning. Soon after he heard the sound, the vehicle caught fire. The contact exited the vehicle and attempted to extinguish the fire with two fire extinguishers. The fire department was called to the scene and they managed to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was 174,000.

It is all over the internet about the grinding and catching of the steering column. In some cases can't steer at all. There is tons of information on this problem. I have a 2006 Ford F150. It is starting with the problem and it only has 82,000 miles. This should not be happening some one is going to get hurt or killed !

THE MAN TOLD ME THAT SOMEONE HAD REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG, BUT INSTEAD OF BOLTING IT BACK IN, THE AIRBAG WAS RIVETED BACK IN. AFTER BEING TOLD ABOUT THE AIRBAG, WE CONTACTED THE PLACE WHERE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND WAS TOLD THE GUY THAT SOLD US THE TRUCK WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THAT HE WOULD CALL US BACK. The shift cable for the automatic transmission was routed next to the exhaust manifold on the engine. The shift cable gets hot and burns into from the heat off the exhaust manifold. I purchased the 2006 Ford F150 used. I had mechanic replace one shift cable with a new shift cable. The new shift cable burned into has I was backing in my driveway. I did research on the internet for trucks in that year range and it included other trucks 2007 and 2008 F150 having the same issue. You can find a ton of utube videos . ShowIng mechanics finding solutions to prevent the shift cables from burning into. I contacted Ford motor company about it. Ford wanted me to take the truck to a dealership and let them diagnosed the problem. The dealership wanted me to pay them a 150 dollars to look at it. I was not going to pay them for something that I already knew the answer too. So it is a manufacturing flaw with the way Ford put the shift cable on 2006 F150 and other F150's in that year range. MY 2006 FORD F 150 HAS 125,000 MILES. I WENT TO PUT MY TRUCK IN REVERSE TO BACK UP OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND IT MADE A NOISE. APPARENTLY REVERS BAND IN THE TRANSMISSION WENT. I NO LONGER CAN PUT MY VEHICLE IN REVERSE TO BACK UP. VERY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND IT BROKE FOR NO REASON.

I TRIED TO START IT BACK UP IN ORDER TO GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD BUT THE VEHICLE DIDN'T START. I ENDED UP HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL SHOP AND AFTER A DIAGNOSIS THAT COST $124.95 THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE WHEN BAD. THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE COST $234.44. SO ALL TOGETHER WITH PARTS, LABOR AND TAX IT COST ME $496.88 WITHOUT INCLUDING THE COST TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE IS BOLTED DIRECTLY TO THE FRAME CROSS MEMBER, AND WITH MINNESOTA WINTERS SNOW AND ROAD SALT GET TRAPPED BETWEEN THE TWO PARTS. THE PART WILL EVENTUALLY RUST, CRACK, AND THEN THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE GOES BAD. IT WAS NICE TO SEE THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS A PLASTIC HOUSING WITH A COUPLE SPACERS TO MOVE IT AWAY FROM THE CROSS MEMBER TO POSSIBLY ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM. 5:30 pm 4/12/21 was driving home from umpiring a baseball game, drove threw intersection when suddenly I was thrown into passenger seat of my truck, the next thing I know im stopped in front of a tree with a telephone pole on the hood of my truck with no idea what or how this happened. I was lucky no one was coming the opposite direction on the 2 lane road cause I wouldn't have been able to control truck even at 40mph, another 5min and I would have been on the interstate going 65mph and surely I'd be dead. After a week I was able to go out and look at my truck thats when I noticed the flat front passenger tire was flat and the inner ring of the rim came off. I had an accident investigator look at it , I hired a lawyer and a metallurgical expert to examine rim. There was no warning the rims were still new.

The door latch on the back suicide opening doors on my F150 stopped working. We had a passenger in the back seat but when they tried to get out the door would not open. The latch had stopped working. Though they were able to get out through the other side, this is a very dangerous situation. Where we in an accident with the possibility of fire or the door would not open for the fire and rescue squad it could have been life threatening. Soon after this incident the other side did the same thing. Now both door latches do not work. How much worse would that have been if an accident would have happened and both doors stopped working. I cannot find a better example of poor safety design and safety threat than this situation. From what I can find there is no recall for the door latch failure on the Ford trucks with the suicide doors on the Ford cabs. The truck is still in this state because we cannot afford to get it fixed and yes it is available for inspection. I described above just how the safety of my passengers were put at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, but the problem is well known, all you have to do is search the internet for this door lock failure Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO, the failure happened all of a sudden and without warning. The same failure happened a few weeks later on the opposite side door latch with the same problem. If I would have had a passenger in the back at that time and gotten in an accident this could have been a life threatening situation. There would have been no way for the person of persons to get out of the back seat due to neither door opening.

Main truck frame is rusting through-presently the left frame rail just behind the left door is failing. The overall condition of truck is good, no body panel rust through(s)-note that I live in Northern Michigan. At this point I wouldn't lift with a floor hoist or heavy load the box with materials. THE REAR OF THE FRAME HAS NEARLY COMPLETELY BROKEN THROUGH BOTH SIDES OF THE FRAME CAUSING THE BED OF THE VEHICLE TO CONTACT THE REAR CAB OF THE VEHICLE. BOTH SIDES ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN AS THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE COULD COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM THE FRONT END. I STARTED NOTICING A TAPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE ON FEB 5, 2020, WHICH WAS ABOUT A WEEK AGO. AFTER RESEARCHING THE NOISE I NOTICED THAT THE TOP OF THE BED WAS TOUCHING THE CAB WHILE THE BOTTOM OF THE BED WAS ABOUT 4-5 INCHES FROM THE CAB. AFTER INSPECTING THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK AT THE REAR, I SAW THAT THE FRAME WAS NEARLY COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH ON BOTH SIDES.

AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE WINDOW WOULD OPEN HOWEVER, IT WOULD FAIL TO CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE ALL FOUR WINDOW SWITCHES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,900 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.

BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE REVIEW MIRRORS ARE NOT STATIONARY. THEY ARE LOOSE AND PIVOT WHEN CLOSING A DOOR. DRIVER'S SIDE ALSO VIBRATES WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY STATED "IT IS JUST A POOR DESIGN WITH A 'BREAK-AWAY FEATURE' THAT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN 'OVERWORN' BY PREVIOUS OWNER, POSSIBLY DUE TO USE OF THINNER GASKETS IN MIRROR ASSEMBLY". WHEN ASKED ABOUT LONGEVITY AND ANTICIPATED LIFESPAN OF MIRRORS PRIOR TO FAILURE DUE TO WEAR, THEY STATED IT WAS NOT A WEAR-PART, HOWEVER, THEY ALSO DENIED IT BEING DEFECTIVE AND QUOTED ME $1200 FOR PARTS AND LABOR TO REPLACE. WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER SINCE THE DEFECT WAS MECHANICAL AND NOT ELECTRICAL. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO STATED THE MIRRORS THAT WOULD BE INSTALLED WOULD BE EXACTLY THE SAME AND THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I WAS UNABLE TO GET A CORRECTIVE ACTION OR REASONING WHY MY PARTICULAR MIRRORS ARE NOT SATISFACTORY, BUT I HAVE HEARD THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE. APRIL 14, 2014 AFTER LEAVING MY DOCTORS OFFICE I BUCKLED MY SEATBELT AS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW I MADE ONE LEFT HAND TURN AND STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT AS I BEGAN MY TURN TO THE RIGHT WHEN LIGHT CHANGED THE SEALBELT CAME LOOSE FROM THE BUCKLE. I WAS TOLD MY TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD REPLACE IT FOR $294.71 DOLLARS IT WAS NOT ON A RECALL LIST. I THEREFORE CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO THE YOUNG LADY WHOM ANSWERED THE PHONE WHAT HAPPENED TELLING HER IT NEEDED TO BE PUT ON A RECALL LIST SHE REFUSED TO LISTEN AND HUNG UP. I REPORTED MY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WENT BAD TO RICHMOND FORD LLC. I HAVE A 2006 FORD F-150 XLT WITH 44,000 MILES. THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT THE 3 YEAR, 36,000 MILE FACTORY WARRANTY WAS PAST. IT WAS DURING A ROUTINE STATE INSPECTION MY MECHANIC FOUND THE ISSUE. I AGAIN CALLED MY MECHANIC. HE INFORMED THAT THERE IS AN 8 YEAR 80,000 MILE FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY. I AGAIN CALLED RICHMOND FORD LLC. SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, HE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO SUCH WARRANTY. I HAD TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO A LOCAL EXHAUST SPECIALIST. IT TOOK A WEEK AND OVER $2000 TO REPAIR MY TRUCK. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANIES CUSTOMER CARE LINE. 2006 SUPERCREW 4X4 F150 THAT BEGAN MISSING AND SHAKING BADLY ALONG WITH RICH SMELL OF GASOLINE THIS MORNING. WAS TAKEN INTO SHOP WHERE IT LATER HYDROLOCKED AND WAS NOW UNABLE TO START. ASSESSMENT BY FORD TECHNICIAN FOUND THE ENGINE TO HAVE A FAULTY INJECTOR ON CYLINDER 6 THAT WAS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION ALLOWING FUEL TO DUMP DIRECTLY INTO CYLINDER UNTIL FULL AND THE PISTON WAS UNABLE TO MOVE ANYMORE APPARENTLY RESULTING IN SOME BENT RODS ACCORDING TO TECHNICIAN. WAS ADVISED THAT ENGINE WAS BLOWN AND NEEDED $9500 FOR REPLACEMENT ENGINE SINCE VEHICLE WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AT 56,000 MILES. FOUND OUT THAT MANY OF THE 2005 MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE HAD RECALLS ON THE SAME INJECTORS MAKING THIS TYPE OF REPAIR COVERED, BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW THIS RECALL SINCE IT A 2006 MODEL. I WAS TOLD BY A DEALER IN CULMAN ALABAMA THAT I COULD DRIVE IT ON TO MEMPHIS WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. UPON ARRIVAL IN MEMPHIS DOBBS FORD TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND I HAD TO TAKE HIS WORD. ON MY TRIP BACK TO TAMPA THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I HAD TO TOWED TO AMERICAN FORD IN TALLAHASSEE. THE REPLACED #6 FUEL INJECTOR. There is a very common problem with the brake light always being on due to a short circuit in the cluster, many owners have reported this problem for several manufacturing years, the brake light is always on even though there is no problem with the brakes. This creates a great hazard because if you do have a brake problem since the light is always on you will never know, and you may be in a fatal vehicle accident. Ford motor company should replace or repair all clusters that have this problem.I just purchased this vehicle with this very common problem. Your inspector can google it and will find this is indeed a very common problem.

WHILE AT THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED THAT SEVEN OF THE EIGHT SPARK PLUGS IN THE VEHICLE WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONE OF THE FRACTURED SPARK PLUGS REMAINED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE ENGINE TO REMOVE THE FRACTURED SPARK PLUG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. SPARK PLUGS ON THE 5.3 LITER ENGINE WHEN REPLACED BREAK--IN RETURN THE BOOK SAID PULL ENGINE AND PULL HEADS TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS. THE LAW SUIT FILLED FORD ADMITS TO BAD DECISION ON SPARK PLUGS AND WILL REIMBURSE SOME OF THE COST. THE COST IS VERY HIGH--THE BOOK AND FORD'S SHOP SAID THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE PULLED TO PULL THE HEADS TO REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS. 2006 FORD F-150 HARLEY DAVIDSON HAS COIL MISFIRE PROBLEM. ALL EIGHT COILS HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN THE LAST 24 MONTHS AND THREE HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE. I PURCHASED A FORD F-150 IN 2006. I AM AT MY 100,000 MAINTENANCE AND THE SPARK PLUGS HAVE TO BE CHANGED. I SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE FORD REPAIR SHOP WHO TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BRING MY TRUCK IN 24 HOURS EARLY TO SOAK THE PLUGS BECAUSE THEY WILL BREAK IN THE MOTOR AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THEM REMOVED. FORD F150 XLT 2006 SHOULD HAVE A MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL FOR THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFECT AND A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS DRIVING DOWN VT116 (A HILLY, WINDING 2 LANE COUNTRY HIGHWAY WITH NO SHOULDER) IN THE RAIN AT ABOUT 40MPH WHEN MY TRUCK STARTED TO BUCK AND LOSE POWER. THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER, SO I PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND TRIED TO LIMP IT TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. THE ENGINE STALLED AND I LOST STEERING AND BRAKING POWER ON A CURVE. I APPLIED THE BRAKES MANUALLY AND WRESTLED THE STEERING WHEEL (WHICH NO LONGER HAD ANY POWER ASSIST). WITH MAJOR DIFFICULTY, I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE TRUCK TO A CONTROLLED STOP. I WAS THEN ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE, LIMPED ALONG AT 15MPH, BUCKING AND STALLING 3 MORE TIMES BEFORE GETTING TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD MY FCM REPLACED (PRIOR WAS 1/5/2013) AND THE SECOND TIME I ALMOST CRASHED MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. THE PREVIOUS TIME WAS JANUARY 2013 ON A MOUNTAIN ROAD IN WINTER ON SNOW. IF I WAS TOWING MY BOAT ON THE INTERSTATE AND LOST ALL POWER, I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH ANYONE AROUND ME. WHY IS IT A DESIGN DEFECT? BECAUSE THIS ELECTRONIC COMPONENT IS INSTALLED IN A WEATHER-EXPOSED AREA ABOVE THE SPARE TIRE AND IS NOT CORROSION-PROOF. IN ANY RUST BELT STATE (OR A PLACE EXPOSED TO SALT), THE CASE WILL CORRODE, EXPOSING THE CIRCUIT BOARD TO WATER, CAUSING THE UNIT TO FAIL. WHY IS IT A SAFETY CONCERN? BECAUSE WHEN THE FCM FAILS, THE ENGINE WILL STALL, CAUSING A LOSS OF POWER TO THE STEERING AND BRAKING SYSTEMS. NHTSA SHOULD FORCE FORD TO DO A MANDATORY RECALL AND REDESIGN THIS POORLY DESIGNED PART. EVEN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FAIL AFTER A FEW YEARS. I WEARING TYPICAL WORK BOOT (LIKE IN FORD COMMERCIALS) WHICH THE LACES HAVE PEGS THE SHOE LACES GO AROUND. THESE PEGS ARE THE SAME AS ALL WORK BOOTS (RED WINGS - $300 BOOT). WHAT HAPPENED IS BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS A THICK RUBBER PAD THAT STRETCHES AROUND THE METAL BRAKE PEDAL AND LEAVES A RIDGE IN THE BACK OF THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY AROUND (SO THE RUBBER FITTING GOES OVER IT LIKE A SHOWER CAP). ALSO THE TRUCK IS AN AUTOMATIC AND THE BREAK PEDAL IS VERY LARGE. WHILE BACKING UP GIVING JUST A LITTLE GAS MY BOOT SHOE LACE PEG GOT TRAPPED BEHIND THE BRAKE PEDAL AND WAS HOLDING MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSING IT DOWN. BECAUSE THE RUBBER RIDGE RUNS ALL THE WAY AROUND MY PEDAL (AS DESIGNED) I COULD NOT MOVE MY FOOT TO THE SIDE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL TO RELEASE THE GAS. TOTAL FOR REPAIRS CAME TO $2300. BUT AFTER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED I STILL DO NOT HAVE A RUNNING VEHICLE. THE ENGINE STARTS BUT OIL PRESSURE DROPS AFTER 5 MINS OF RUNNING. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT 35 MPH AND SIMPLY STOPPED RUNNING. VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RE-STARTED. TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC TESTED THE FUEL SYSTEM AND DETERMINED THE FUEL PUMP HAD BURNED OUT. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $552.05. ONE DAY AFTER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED AND THE CODE REVEALED A FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME REPAIR SHOP. THE FUEL PRESSURE WAS OPERATING AT 90 PSI. AFTER SEVERAL UNSUCCESSFUL VISITS, IT WAS EVENTUALLY DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE WAS SEVERELY CORRODED AND MALFUNCTIONING. THE "POT" METAL HAS BEEN COMPLETELY CORRODED AND THERE IS AN APPROXIMATE 1 INCH DIAMETER HOLE LEADING DIRECTLY TO THE ELECTRIC PANEL. THE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED FOR AN ADDITIONAL $399.89. THE DESIGN OF THIS MODULE USING "POT" METAL AND SIMPLY BOLTING TO THE STEEL AXLE IS RIDICULOUS. THIS ITEM SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL WITHIN THE "SALT BELT" AREAS OF NORTH AMERICA. I HAVE DOCUMENTED RECEIPTS FROM THE REPAIR SHOP AND HAVE KEPT THE ORIGINAL FUEL MODULE AS WELL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WOULD NOT START ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. AFTER THE MOST RECENT FAILURE, THE DEALER CHANGED THE STARTER AND THE FAILURE APPEARED TO BE REMEDIED. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKES EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE SEAL FAILED IN THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEALS IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO EMIT A RED, GREASY SUBSTANCE ON THE WHEEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY DID NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL THE BRAKES OPERATED IN THAT MANNER, BUT THE CONTACT DISAGREED BY STATING THAT THE REAR BRAKES DID NOT. THE DEALER FINALLY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN; HOWEVER, THEY ONLY WASHED OFF THE GREASE. THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK THE CONTACT'S INFORMATION, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. MOST RECENTLY, SHE HEARD A NOISE FROM THE BRAKES WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE AND BRAKING. THE NOISE WAS DESCRIBED AS A CRACKING SOUND. THE TRUCK WAS DELIVERED ON 8/12 IN LATE EVENING WHEN IT WAS COOL, ON THE NEXT DAY IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING DID NOT COOL PROPERLY. IT SHOWED NO COLDER THAN 60 DEGREES ON MAX AIR IN THE LEFT MIDDLE VENT WITH ALL OTHERS CLOSED AND WITH 95 DEGREES OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. WHEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER ON THE NEXT MORNING, THE SERVICE ORDER SHOWED "NO TROUBLE FOUND". THEY DO HOWEVER SHOW THAT REFRIGERANT(R134) WAS ADDED WHICH IS ODD AS THERE WAS NO TROUBLE FOUND. LATER IT WAS ADMITTED TO ME THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING IN THESE TRUCKS, PARTICULARLY THE RECIRCULATION SWITCH ON THE AIR CONTROL PANEL IN THE TRUCK WHICH DOES NOT STAY ENGAGED. IT SEEMS THAT YOU MUST RE ENGAGE THE SWITCH EACH TIME THE TRUCK IS STARTED ALTHOUGH THIS DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. THIS IS DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE TRUCK, AS OUTSIDE AIR IS BEING BROUGHT IN AT ALL TIMES THUS KEEPING THE DEFROST FROM WORKING PROPERLY AS WELL. while in drive, accelerating to highway speeds or cruising around 30 mph it will downshift and jump to about 4000 PMS's and not shift up into 3rd gear. It blown 1 engine and I have replaced the transmissions, taken it to a Ford dealership and they weren't able to help me. I've replaced the ECM and anti-theft modal also and the symptoms still persist. i am i in for over 11K for the new engine and transmission, and another $100 on the ECM and anti-theft modal plus the shop charges. The truck has under 190,000 miles before any of this started. I am the 2nd owner an had for less than 3k miles before any of the problems started. Now I see the 2015-2017 F-150s are having the same problems getting recalled. is there anything involving the earlier Triton's engines?

REPLACED BRAKE CABLE E-BRAKE SWITCH ETC... EVERYTHING POINTS TO THE CLUSTER AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE WEBSITES THE VERIFY THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT BEGINNING FROM 2004-2010. IN SOME STATES THIS IS AN INDPECTABLE ITEM ADDING ADDITIONAL AND MANDATORY REPAIRS TO BE MADE. THE CLUSTER REPAIR PART COST ANYWHERE FROM $400.00-$600.00 AND WITH LABOR COULD RUN WELL OVER $1000.00 PENDING ON THE MODEL OF THE F-150. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE ON THE WAY TO WORK AROUND 8 PM. WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES. I REACTED IN ACCORDANCE AND HIT MY BRAKES PRETTY HARD. MY TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE YESTERDAY. DUE TO A HEAT SHIELD MISSING OVER PASSENGER SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CAUSED THE PLASTIC GROMMETS THAT HOLD THE SOUND BARRIER MATERIAL ON THE FLOORBOARD TO DROP AND HANG ON TOP OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER UNTIL THE MATERIAL CAUGHT ON FIRE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS STILL INVESTIGATING HOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD WAS MISSING. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND IT WAS USED, THEY HAD TO DO SERVICE WORK ON IT BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH A BROKEN FRONT COIL SPRING AND THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE HAD ROTTED. EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK WAS MISSING A HEAT SHIELD, I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE ANY KIND OF FLAMMABLE MATERIAL NEAR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER JUST IN CASE A HEAT SHIELD HAPPENS TO ROT AND FALL OFF OR FOR ANY REASON THE HEAT SHIELD IS MISSING .THE FIRE TRAVELED THROUGH THE MATERIAL ALMOST TO THE TOP OF MY ENGINE. AFTER I GOT THE FLAMES OUT IT WAS STILL SMOLDERING AND SMOLDERED UP INTO A SPACE I COULD NOT REACH TO NOR SEE. WAS DRIVING MY 2006 F-150 OVER A MOUNTAIN PASS IN CANADA. THERE WAS COMPACT SNOW AND ICE ON THE ROADWAY AND I WAS TRAVELING WITH OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THE VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME BEGAN TO BRAKE, I AS WELL TRIED TO BRAKE ONLY TO FIND MY TRUCK HAD LOST POWER AND WAS NO LONGER RUNNING. I HAD LOST POWER TO MY BRAKES AND STEERING. THIS CAUSED MY TRUCK TO BEGIN SLIDING ON THE SNOW AND ICE AND I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE. THE CARS AROUND ME WERE SLOWING AND STOPPING AND I COULD NOT. I BEGAN TO FISH TAIL IN BOTH DIRECTIONS WHILE TRYING DESPERATELY TO CONTROL MY TRUCK WITH NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING, I EVENTUALLY DID A COMPLETE 360 DEGREE SPIN AND SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL WITH OUT ROLLING OVER AND INTO THE DITCH OR SMASHING INTO THE OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP MY TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING AND THE DASH LIGHTS WERE ON. I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK WITHOUT ISSUE AND CONTINUED ON WITHOUT ISSUE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS TRUCK, THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND I WAS ABLE TO JUST COAST TO A STOP AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK. IN JUNE 2015, THE AIR BAG LIGHT IN MY FORD F150 ILLUMINATED, INDICATING A PROBLEM. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE DEPLOYABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM, SPECIFICALLY THE PRETENSIONER, HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND POSSIBLY WOULD FAIL TO FUNCTION AS INTENDED IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM IS CONNECTED TO MY AIR BAGS, WHICH MIGHT FAIL TO WORK IN A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. AFTER PAYING THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE, I WAS GIVEN A REPAIR ESTIMATE OF AN ADDITIONAL $392.21. NOT WANTING TO RISK INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, I HAD THE PRETENSIONER REPLACED. THE BUCKLE PRETENSIONER IS A CRITICAL SAFETY DEVICE THAT SHOULD NEVER FAIL UNDER NORMAL USE. MY VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT SOME PRETENSIONERS HAVE FAILED DUE TO SIMPLE SEAT POSITION ADJUSTMENTS, WHICH, TO ME, IS EVIDENCE OF A POOR DESIGN. I GOT THE UPGRADED PART FROM A FORD DEALER FOR $163 AND INSTALLED. RUNS FINE NOW. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS FORD KNOWS THERE'S A PROBLEM SINCE THE HAVE CAME OUT WITH AN UPGRADED CONTROL MODULE SO WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF MY GAUGES WENT DEAD INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER, A COUPLE OF MINUTES LATER THEY CAME BACK ON AND WHEN THEY DID THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED BLINKING RAPIDLY. A FEW MOMENTS LATER THE GAUGES WENT DEAD AGAIN, WHEN THEY CAME BACK ON THE SECOND TIME THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED BLINKING RAPIDLY AND ERRATICALLY. SINCE THAT TIME MY GAUGES HAVE FAILED 3 MORE TIMES WITH THE SAME BEHAVIOR FROM THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. I HAD A FUEL INJECTOR FAIL THAT COMPLETELY RUINED THE ENGINE AT 71K MILES. I HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED. I WAS VERY SURPRISED TO SEE THAT MY PROBLEM WAS EXACTLY LIKE THE FORD 2005 CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 07M08 PROBLEM. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT IN 2005, BUT TITLED AS A 2006. I HAVE TALKED AND WROTE TO FORD BUT THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME. I TOLD THEM I STILL HAVE THE FAILED INJECTOR AND THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT TO SEE IF IT WAS ONE OF THE DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT SPURRED THE 07M08 PROGRAM. I BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO EXPAND THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 07M08 TO INCLUDE 2006 MODELS. I WOULD LOVE FOR THE NHTSA TO PRESSURE FORD TO REVISIT THIS ISSUE. THIS WAS HARD FOR ME BECAUSE I STILL HAVE THE INJECTOR THAT FAILED. I KEEP IT AS A REMINDER OF THE $8,000 I HAD TO SPEND ON A NEW ENGINE. TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE OUTER SHEATH WAS MELTED ON EXHAUST SYSTEM. CABLE HAD UNKNOWINGLY COME LOOSE OF A RETAINING CLIP AND WAS THEN ALLOWED TO CONTACT HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD. MELTED THE OUTER PLASTIC OF SHIFT CABLE CAUSING THE SHIFT SELECTOR TO BECOME INOPERABLE. SHIFT SELECTOR COULD BE PLACED IN PARK BUT TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT BE IN PARK; IF I HAD NOT REALIZED THERE WAS A PROBLEM I COULD HAVE BELIEVED THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK WHEN IT WAS NOT AND THE TRUCK COULD HAVE ROLLED FREELY. SPARK PLUGS ARE ENGINEERED COUNTER SUNK IN HOLES IN TOP OF THE HEADS, WHEN THE PLUGS ARE UNSCREWED THE BOTTOM OF THE PLUG MORE OFTEN THAN NOT BREAKS OFF INSIDE THE SPARK PLUG HOLE. THIS REQUIRES VERY EXPENSIVE TOOLS AND A SKILLED MECHANIC TO EXTRACT. I FEEL THE PART WAS ENGINEERED TO FAIL TO FORCE THE PRICE OF REPAIRS UP. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHEN THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, HE HEARD A LOUD SCRAPING NOISE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, HE EXPERIENCED UNWARRANTED FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGEMENT, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IWE SOLENOID AND THE ACTUATOR. SEVERAL DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE RESURFACED AND BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN LOCATING THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F150. ON NOVEMBER 19, 2008, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO FORD RECALL NUMBER 08S05B (BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM HOSE REPLACEMENT). WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STRUCK THE SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE ROAD PAVEMENT WAS DRY. THE ENGINE STALLED AND A MECHANIC LATER DETERMINED THAT A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WATER WAS FOUND IN THE GAS TANK. PRIOR TO THE STALL THE TRUCK HAD BEEN KEPT IN A LOCATION WHERE IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO PUT WATER INTO THE TANK. AS SOON AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE THE TRUCK REVVED TO APPROX. 5000 RPMS. I STOOD ON THE BRAKE AS AS THE BACK RIGHT TIRE SQUEALED, LEAVING BLACK TREAD MARKS IN MY DRIVE. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A RATTLING NOISE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE A/C COMPRESSOR WAS SEPARATING. THE DEALER MADE THE REPLACEMENT, HOWEVER, THE NOISE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. AS OF SEPTEMBER 24, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 495 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,900.

ACCELERATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIME THE MOST RECENT BEING TODAY. I ALMOST RAN INTO A BUILDING PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. THE TIME BEFORE WAS AT A RED LIGHT, NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME AND THE TIME BEFORE THAT I WAS HAULING AN ANTIQUE CAR ON A TRAILER WITH TRAILER BRAKES THAT ACTUALLY KEPT ME FROM HITTING ANYONE WHEN THE TRUCK BRAKES CAUSED AN ACCELERATION. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK. I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP POURING FUEL OUT OF THE TRUCK ONTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.

WAS TRAVELING BACK FROM DECLO IDAHO FROM MY FATHERS PASSING AWAY ,HEADED FOR BOISE IDAHO AT 11:00 PM, JUST PASSED JEROME ABOUT TWO MILES WEST THE HEADLIGHTS AND ALL OTHER LIGHTS, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR WENT OUT AT 75 MPH ON THE FREEWAY , IN THE VEHICLE I HAD MY SON 8 YEARS OLD , MY WIFE 40 YEARS OLD , MY MOTHER 65 YEARS OLD, AND MYSELF 44 YEARS OLD WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY A MERGING OR PASSING SEMI, BUT I QUICKLY SWITCHED THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH FROM AUTO TO HEADLAMP AND THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON, SO I SWITCHED BACK TO AUTO AND WE TRAVELED 8 MILES AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AGAIN , SO ,I REPEATED THE SAME THING AGAIN BY TURNING THE SWITCH BACK TO HEADLAMP, AND THE LIGHTS ONCE AGAIN CAME BACK ON. THEN, I SWITCHED IT BACK TO AUTO AGAIN AND THEY STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 8 TO 10 MILES AND WENT OUT AGAIN . I SWITCHED THEM BACK AND LEFT THE SWITCH ON HEADLAMP AND CONTINUED OUR TRIP HOME FROM DECLO NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH SWITCH ON HEADLAMP MOD. ALSO, I HAD FOG LAMPS ON THIS ENTIRE TIME WHICH ENTAILED PULLING THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH OUT TO ENGAGE THE FOG LAMPS. THEN A WHILE LATER LIKE A WEEK I WENT TO WORK AT THE AIRPORT AT NIGHT GRAVES . I GOT TO WORK SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND PUT THE KEYS ON THE FLOOR AS PER PAD TO OPEN VEHICLE, LOCKED VEHICLE BY PAD AND ENTERED THE BUILDING, ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO LATER RECEIVED A CALL FROM HORIZON EMPLOYEE THAT THERE WAS A VEHICLE WITH ITS LIGHTS ON IN THE PARKING LOT WHICH WAS MY VEHICLE. I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND TURNED THE HEADLAMP SWITCH FROM AUTO TO HEADLAMP AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT WHEN I LOCKED THE VEHICLE THIS TIME , AND THE SAME SCENARIO HAPPENED A COUPLE MORE TIMES . I RETURNED WITH THE VEHICLE TO LITHIA FORD OF BOISE, AND THEY HELD THE VEHICLE OVER NIGHT AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM , THEY HAVE DONE THIS A COUPLE TIMES ,AND DAMAGED THE DASHBOARD. *AK

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT'S FOOT BECAME STUCK TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKE. THE VEHICLE FAILS TO BRAKE PROPERLY UNLESS THE PEDAL IS TOUCHING THE FLOOR. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, THE CONTACT HEARS A SQUEALING NOISE AND IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP, BUT THE SQUEALING NOISE IS STILL AUDIBLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 37,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,346. THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL WERE DESIGNED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. THE CONSUMER HAS MISTAKENLY HIT THE GAS PEDAL WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE. THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD AN INTERNAL LEAK. THE MUFFLER HAD A LEAK. UPDATED 06/06/07. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER, AMERICAN FORD. THE DEALER REPLACED THE # 6 FUEL INJECTOR. AT 9,670 MILES, THE SAME FAILURE RECURRED, AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE # 5 FUEL INJECTOR. AT 9,735 MILES, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED BECAUSE OF THE FUEL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 10,765, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,462.*AK

MY NEW F150 HAS A TERRIBLE SHUDDER IN THE STEERING WHEEL FOR THE FIRST 10 MILES AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. IF IT IS COLD OUT, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE ABOVE 50 MPH. FORD HAS REPLACED THE TIRES, BUT THEY REPLACED THEM WITH THE SAME PIRELLIS AND IT DID NOT HELP. *JB

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING AT NO SPECIFIC SPEED, THE FRONT END VIBRATED AND RATTLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE SECOND PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE ENTERING A CURVE AT 55MPH, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEW. THE TIRE WAS NOT INSPECTED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE ALTHOUGH, THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE THIRD PROBLEM IS THE COOLING SYSTEM BOLTS WERE LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ROUTINE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE WHEN THE LOOSENESS OF THE BOLTS WAS DISCOVERED. THE DEALERSHIP TIGHTENED THE BOLTS FOR REPAIR.

2006 F150 FX 4 -4X4 SUPER CAB 5.4 L. I TRADED THE EXACT SAME TRUCK IN AN 04 MODEL YEAR FOR THIS 2006. FORD HAS REFUSED TO FIX ( FOR 3 MODEL YEARS ) : DRIVE TRAIN VIBRATION, DRIVE TRAIN HOWL/WHINE. THE 04 WAS IN THE SHOP 6 TIMES WITH NO FIX. MY 06 IN THE DEALERSHIP NOW. I HAVEN'T MADE THE FIRST PAYMENT OR THE FIRST OIL CHANGE. PROBLEMS NOT PRESENT ON TEST DRIVE. STARTED AT 500 MILES. OTHER PROBLEMS INCLUDE : BRAKE PEDAL IS MUSH. IT NEVER FIRMS UP. IT WILL GO TO THE FLOOR. DOORS WONT SHUT WITHOUT SLAMMING. SUPER CAB DOORS WONT SHUT TIGHT WITHOUT PUSHING TOP IN. MY BEST FUEL ECONOMY IS 13 MPG HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE ON. THE "NEW" F150'S ARE A DISGRACE TO THE FORD NAME. $ 38,000 P.O.S. !! MY LAST FORD. *NM
