THREE MONTHS AGO I HEARD A POP NOISE UNDER THE HOOD THEN SHORTLY AFTER THE STEERING BEGAN TO FEEL STIFF EVEN ON THE RETURN AFTER TURNING I NEEDED TO HELP.UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THE LOWER INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT JOINTS ARE EXTREMELY CORRODED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED UPON CHECKING THIS SEEMS T BE A LARGE PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD MUCH OLDER VEHICLES THAT HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE.

MY TRUCK HAS 80,000 MILES. I NOTICED THAT GRADUALLY THE STEERING WAS BECOMING STIFFER AND HARDER TO TURN FEELING AS IF IT WAS BINDING AT TIMES. IT GOT TO A POINT THAT WHEN MAKING A TURN THE WHEEL WOULD NOT RECOVER AND ACTUALLY HAD TO BE PULLED BACK MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO MY SERVICE SHOP AND THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH ON-LINE AND FOUND VARIOUS FORUMS WHERE OWNERS AND REPAIR TECHS DESCRIBED THE TWO "U" JOINTS ON THE F-150 STEERING SHAFT BECOMING BADLY CORRODED MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND POINTING OUT THE JOINTS HAVE NO GREASE FITTING. I CHECKED THE JOINTS ON MY TRUCK AND THEY ERE CORRODED. I APPLIED LUBRICANT EXTERNALLY AND IT COMPLETELY ELIMINATED MY PROBLEM, HOWEVER, I HAVE TO REAPPLY LUBRICANT EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. THE ATTACHED PHOTO SHOWS THE UPPER JOINT AFTER I LUBRICATED IT. FORD HAS TO KNOW THIS SAFETY ISSUE EXISTS AND THAT THIS IS COSTING OWNERS NEEDLESS REPAIR COSTS.

STEERING BECAME STIFF. VEHICLE WAS HARD TO MAINTAIN EVEN ON STRAIGHT ROAD. AFTER MY INSPECTION, I FOUND THAT THE STEERING SHAFT WAS HORRIBLY CORRODED AT THE UNIVERSAL JOINT. I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL I REPAIR IT. IT IS AT THE POINT WHERE IT COULD BREAK AND LOOSE ALL CONTROL OF STEERING. VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN A MECHANIC FOR OVER 30 YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS IN ANY VEHICLE, NO MATTER WHAT AGE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,419.

My F150 will run great until it warms up and then it will run rough, shows low oil pressure, and stalls at stops and while driving at low speeds. I have taken it to two mechanics and have spent thousands of dollars without fixing this problem. This has been an ongoing issue and started in Sept. 2022

The contact owns a 2008 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after turning off the vehicle, the contact attempted to restart the vehicle and became aware that the gear shifter was not in park(P). The contact inspected the gear shift lever, and the gear shifter was in the park(P); however, the contact was unable to move the gear shift lever. The contact depressed the brake pedal, moved the gear shift lever, and was able to restart the vehicle. A mobile mechanic arrived at the residence and replaced the shifter cable, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while arriving at her sister's residence, the failure reoccurred. The shift indicator displayed that the vehicle was not in park(P). However, the gear shifter lever was in park(P). A neighbor stopped by and assisted the contact by going underneath the vehicle and manually shifting the gear. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence. The failure had progressively worsened, and the vehicle was no longer driven. The vehicle was parked at the residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

Vehicle will not go into reverse. After research and reviews of this transmission in this year model, the reverse band is a known issue by Ford. Even the transmissions installed for replacement have bad reverse bands. There was a service advisory put out by ford but the advisory is no longer available. The reverse band is weak and the incorrect part was installed from factory.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard an abnormal clicking sound. The vehicle was driven to a nearby parking lot. In addition, the engine seized. The contact restarted the vehicle; however, the gear shifter failed to shift to the intended gear. The contact stated that the vehicle was undrivable. The contact stated that due to the failure, the contact was stranded at night in a dark parking lot. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

Transmission failure. Internal failure causing back up to shake really bad (stutter) , going up a hill and struggles in first and doesn’t want to increase speed. No light indications or anything to show transmission problems. Relying on a sound that sounds like brake scrub but it’s the transmission

WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND IN A PARKING LOT, I NOTICED WHAT A APPEARED TO BE A HOLE RUSTED THROUGH THE DRIVERS SIDE FRAME. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL LARGE HOLES BEGINNING IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL AND EXTENDING TO ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE CAB. THESE HOLES ARE ALL THE WAY THROUGH, (BOTH SIDES OF THE RAIL), ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. I FEEL THIS SIGNIFICANTLY COMPROMISES THE INTEGRITY OF THE FRAME AND MAKES IT LESS SAFE TO OPERATE. I AM ALSO VERY SURPRISED TO SEE SO MUCH CORROSION ON AN 11 YEAR TRUCK. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER THAT SOLD ME THE TRUCK 5 YEARS AGO, TO FORD MOTOR CO., AND TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. NONE OF THESE ATTEMPTS HAVE RESULTED IN ANY ACTION. I'M SURE MINE IS NOT THE ONLY F150 WITH THIS PROBLEM AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE THE WORD GETS OUT.

The contact stated that the starter and the computer were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a possible liquid propane injection system failure. The contact stated that after researching, the failure was like the failure described in NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V523000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact was informed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH and rounding a right-hand bend, the steering wheel veered to the left direction. The contact stated the "tire pressure" warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle crashed into a guard rail on the driver's side and flipped over the rail and landed on the driver's side. The contact said that there was damage to the front fender, driver's and passenger door, and rear quarter panel. The contact said he had received medical attention on-site for minor lacerations to his left hand and bruising on his left shoulder. The police wrote an incident report. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact said that a day prior to the crash he had smelled a burning smell coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle had not been diagnosed by a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign: 08V523000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 60 MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE ENGINE DIED. I COASTED OFF THE FREEWAY WHICH WAS DIFFICULT BECAUSE OF THE TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT ON THE OFF RAMP. I THEN STARTED THE TRUCK AND GOT IT IN THE DRIVEWAY OF A HOSPITAL. IT DIED AGAIN AND I STARTED THE TRUCK AND MOVED IT OUT OF THE ROAD WHEN I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I LIFTED THE HOOD AND FOUND THE ENGINE ON FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO SMOTHER IT BY THROWING A JACKET ON IT. IT MELTED THE WIRING AND THE COMPUTER MODULES. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY MECHNICS SHOP AND FOUND IT HAD BLOWN A SPARK PLUG. I WENT HOME AND FOUND FORD WANTS TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER FOR A COST OF $3000. I HAD MY MECHANIC PUT IN A SLEEVE AND REPLACE ALL 8 SPARK PLUGS. BUT THEN I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THE FIRE DAMAGE AND THEY HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER WHO IS REPLACING THE MODULAR. OIL PRESSURE AND CHARGING SYSTEM AND FUEL GAUGES WORKING NORMALLY. ENGINE PERFORMANCE UNAFFECTED. DROVE 15+ MILES TO HOMETOWN AND MY MECHANIC. AFTER A DAY OF DIAGNOSIS, HE STATED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS THE PROBLEM, AND ALSO THAT IT WAS A KNOWN BUT NOT ACKNOWLEDGED ISSUE BY FORD. NEW CLUSTERS ARE $700 TO $900 WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS. AFTER A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE, THERE AND A LOT; AND I MEAN A LOT OF PEOPLE SELLING 2008 F-150 LARIAT INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS. SURE I COULD PICK ONE UP FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS, BUT AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM IS THE MILEAGE; WHICH IS STORED IN THE CLUSTER ROM. MY TRUCK ONLY HAD 86K MILES, WHEREAS IF I INSTALL A USED ONE I INHERIT WHATEVER MILEAGE IS ON THERE. MY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLICKERING ON AND OFF, AND THEN TURNED ON CONSTANTLY. I'VE CHECKED THE BRAKE COMPONENTS, AND THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS THERE. FURTHER DIAGNOSIS SHOWED THAT IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL, AND HAS OCCURRED IN SEVERAL MODEL YEARS. BESIDES THE IRRITATION OF HAVING THE LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME, I NOW HAVE NO RELIABLE WAY TO KNOW IF THERE REALLY IS A BRAKE ISSUE.

FAULTY CIRCUITRY IN THE REAR OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAUSES RED EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT TO STAY ON. THE ONLY FIX FROM FORD IS TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AT A COST OF 900 DOLLARS. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ANYTHING ELSE ON THE TRUCK EXCEPT A LIGHT THAT WILL NOT GO OFF. THIS LIGHT WILL CAUSE MY TRUCK TO FAIL INSPECTION. MULTIPLE FORD MECHANICS I HAVE SPOKEN WITH STATE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, ONE STATED HE HAS REPLACED 12 CLUSTERS IN JUST THIS PAST YEAR. TO SPEND 900 DOLLARS TO TURN OFF A LIGHT BULB IS INSANE FORD DEALER AND FORD CORPORATE WERE ASKED AND THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST IN THIS COST TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN I EXITED, THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER CONTROL UNIT. HE SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE F150 TRUCKS. MY OPINION IS THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND THE DRIVER MODULE WAS DAMAGED DUE TO CORROSION.

LOCHEN FORD IN NEWBURG, WI DIAGNOSED A FAILED FUEL DRIVER MODULE. REPLACED AT A COST OF $350 ON 3/29/16. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE, THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON FAILURE WITH THIS VEHICLE. FAILURE OF PART IS DUE TO ACCELERATED CORROSION OF PART ITSELF DUE TO POOR DESIGN AND MOUNTING. MODIFICATIONS HAVE SINCE BEEN MADE TO LESSEN THE CHANCE OF FAILURE. THIS IS CERTAINLY OF CONCERN SINCE STALLING OF THE ENGINE AT ALL SPEEDS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I SUSPECT THOUSANDS, IF NOT MILLIONS OF THESE POPULAR TRUCKS ARE AFFECTED. The grab handle on drivers side that is put there to assist the driver to enter the vehicle is the issue. On 4/17/2025 I was attempting to enter my truck. I am severely disabled. I grabbed the handle that is attached to the A pillar as I have hundreds of times since I bought the truck in 2008. I am the original owner. Vehicle only has about 36,000 miles on it. As I was pulling myself in the entire handle detached from the A pillar sending me into a bad fall onto my driveway. Luckily I was not seriously injured. I'm 6'4 190 pounds, so its not like I'm terribly heavy. The next day I went to see just what happened and removed the the handle assembly. I was shocked to find that it is not attached to the steel A pillar. A steel plate is attached to the pillar under the handle but the handle is anchored to that plate only by two plastic wells that the screws go through. Both of the bottoms of those wells broke clean off which then allowed the entire assembly to pull away from the A pillar. I did some research and there is like a 5 year period of this being a known issue. I found dozens of examples of the exact same failure online. There is no "better" replacement part available either. I'm shocked that Ford would not secure this handle into the frame. Something thats meant to assist people entering the vehicle that will be pulled on anchored with PLASTC?? Ford needs issue a recall for this and provide a fix. If i had been 4 inches closer to my brick wall corner of my house I would not be here now to report this. I have included pics. the red circled parts are the plastic that hold the handle to the pillar that broke.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED FROM A DEALERSHIP IN VIRGINIA AND THERE IS EXTREME PREMATURE FRAME CORROSION AND RUST. THE EXTERIOR BODY DOES NOT EXHIBIT SPOTS OR SURFACE RUST ON VISIBLE BODY PANELS. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME IS RUSTED AND IS CRACKED UNDER BED AND REAR WHEEL WELLS. THE FRAME MAY NO LONGER SUPPORT WEIGHT OF VEHICLE DUE TO THE RUST HOLES AND LONGITUDINAL CRACKS FORMED ON THE BOTTOM AND SIDE FRAME SURFACES AT THE STRESS POINT BEFORE THE REAR WHEEL BEND. THIS CAR WILL NOT PASS THE STATE INSPECTION. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS RECALLED 385,762 FORD ESCAPE MODELS-YEAR 2001-2004 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.

WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE SPEEDS UP LIKE THE ACCELERATOR IS BEING PRESSED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN BUT THE TRUCK DID NOT SLOW DOWN BUT ACCELERATED. THE SECOND TIME IT OCCURRED, I WAS BACKING UP AND PRESSED THE BRAKE WHEN I WAS FINISHED BUT THE TRUCK ACCELERATED BACKWARDS. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A MISTAKE WHERE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED, I KNOW THAT I WAS ONLY PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY OCCUR WHEN IN TRAFFIC, CAUSING ME TO RUN INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE HOLES WEAKEN THE STRENGTH OF THE FRAME. THIS COULD RESULT IN FRAME FAILURE WHICH COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IF FAILURE OCCURS DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF OTHER 2004-2008 FORD F-150 OWNERS WITH SAME FRAME WEAKENING RUST HOLES DUE TO PORE FRAME COATING AND FRAME DESIGN. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY BY REPLACING FRAMES ON THESE FORD F-150 TRUCKS IN THE FORM OF A RECALL. IF THE NEW FRAMES COULD BE COATED INSIDE AND OUT WITH A RUST PREVENTATIVE COATING OR PAINT. THIS MAY CURE THE DANGEROUS FRAME RUSTING ISSUE. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW IN 2008. I DISCOVERED WHAT SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE BRAKE & GAS PEDALS. THEY ARE SPACED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND AT THE SAME LEVEL. WHEN PLACING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT SOMETIMES IS POSITIONED ON THE RIGHT AND OVERLAPS THE GAS PEDAL AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, ESPECIALLY WHEN TOWING A HEAVY BOAT OR TRAVEL TRAILER. THIS PROBLEM GETS WORSE AS THE BRAKES WEAR AND THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS TO TRAVEL FURTHER DOWNWARD TOWARDS THE FLOOR. IN OTHER WORDS, THE GAS PEDAL IS ALSO FORCED FURTHER DOWNWARD. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW SAFETY PROBLEM. ON MY 2008 FORD F-150 PICK-UP TRUCK, THE BRAKE PEDAL IS MOUNTED TOO CLOSE TO THE GAS PEDAL. IF, DURING A "PANIC STOP" MY FOOT IS NOT PLACED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT TENDS TO OVER LAP THE GAS PEDAL AND WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE, WILL ACTUALLY ACCELERATE THE TRUCK. THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK THAT COULD RESULT IN BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. VEHICLE IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD. ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2016 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND I INFORMED THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THE NOISE. HIS RESPONSE WAS, 'HIS MECHANICS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CHECK THE ISSUE DUE TO MINIMUM STAFFING'. DECEMBER 17, 2016 THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND REPAIRED FOR FRONT SWAY BAR END LINKS. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS REOCCURRING ISSUE AND ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR WHO WOULD I NEED TO SPEAK WITH IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE. HE REPLIED 'NO ONE, JUST BRING IT BACK AND WE WILL REPLACE IT FOR FREE'. I REALLY WASN'T SATISFIED WITH HIS ANSWER AND CALLED THE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER. I INFORMED THEM OF MY SITUATION AND WAS PROVIDED A FOLLOW UP CASE NUMBER (CAS11317836). I WAS TOLD TO SPEAK WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER IN REGARDS TO THE ISSUE AND REFUNDING THE AMOUNT PAID ON AUGUST 14, 2014. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE STABILIZER SWAY BAR LINKS AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. SERVICE MANAGER INDICTED THERE WILL NOT BE A REFUND AND I WILL BE PAYING FOR ANY FUTURE SWAY BAR LINK SERVICE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTEE. FORD SELLING AND PLACING DEFECTIVE PARTS ON VEHICLES AND NOW WANT REPLACE IT AT THEIR EXPENSE. IS THIS FARE?

NOW THE NEW TIRES HAVE DONE THE SAME THING. I DO NOT HAUL CARGO OR DRIVE AT EXCESSIVE SPEEDS. MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 31944 WHICH MEANS THIS SET LASTED JUST OVER TWO YEARS AND 13575 MILES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE ISSUE OF A BLOWOUT AND LOSING CONTROL OF THE TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE ROLLOVERS WITH PICKUP TRUCKS. FORD F150 SIDE WINDOW SCREENS ARE MALFUNCTIONING AND FALLING DOWN. OUR TRUCK WITH 38,000 MILES ON IT IS STARTING TO HAVE A PROBLEM, WHEN A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET IS PERFORMED, THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY COMMON. FROM MY PHONE CALLS WITH MY FORD DEALER TODAY, THEY SAID IT IS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM AND FORD WILL NOT STAND BEHIND IT. THIS PROBLEM IS RAMPANT AND IS ANOTHER CASE OF A DEALER NOT STANDING BEHIND THE QUALITY OF THEIR VEHICLE. THEY TRY TO PORTRAY IT AS A WARRANTY ISSUE, WHEN IT IS IN FACT A FAULTY DESIGN. SMELLED ODOR OF GASOLINE WHILE DRIVING. DROVE APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES AND WHEN EXITED VEHICLE, STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE. WALKED TO REAR OF VEHICLE AND SAW A TRAIL OF GASOLINE SPLATTERS BEHIND 2008 FORD F150. LOOKED UNDER VEHICLE AND SAW A POOL OF GASOLINE WITH GASOLINE DRIPPING FROM ALL AROUND FUEL TANK AND SURROUNDING AREA. IMMEDIATELY GOT ASSISTANCE AND DETERMINED THAT GASOLINE WAS COMING FROM AREA AT TOP OF FUEL TANK-AREA OF FUEL PUMP (BY TURNING KEY ON A 1-2 SECONDS WHILE ASSISTANT WATCHED UNDER PICKUP). WE REMOVED THE FUSE TO FUEL PUMP RELAY AND TOWED VEHICLE (100 FT) TO AREA WHERE WE COULD WASH GASOLINE OFF WITH WATER HOSE AND PUSHED VEHICLE INTO SHOP AND REMOVED PICKUP BED TO GET A VISUAL AT LEAK AREA. VENT HOSE TO FILLER CAP WAS BROKEN AT TOP OF TANK (THIS IS NOT A HOSE THAT NORMALLY HAS GASOLINE OR PRESSURE. REINSTALLED FUSE AND RAPIDLY TURNED KEY ON AND OFF WITH 2 PERSONS WATCHING. A HUGE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE WAS SPRAYED OUT WHEN THE PUMP WAS ENERGIZED. WHEN ASSISTANT TOUCHED THE HOSE AT SOURCE OF LEAKAGE TO PULL HOSE OFF, THE PLASTIC CONNECTION ON THE PUMP BROKE OFF (NO FORCE WAS APPLIED). CALLED FORD DEALER AND WERE INFORMED IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY--INFORMED THEM OF OBSERVATIONS AND ACTION WE TOOK. WHEN FORD GOT THE VEHICLE THEY BASICALLY SAID THIS WAS AN OWNER ABUSE AND WAS NOT A DEFECT. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECT TO ANY ROUGH TREATMENT. IF I HAD DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE ENOUGH TO GET EXHAUST HOT OR HAD ANY SOURCE OF IGNITION THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BASICALLY EXPLODED AND BURNED, IT PROBABLY LOST 5-6 GALLON OF GAS IN 3 MILES(5 MINUTES). THERE WAS A SPLIT IN PLASTIC CONNECTION THAT BROKE OFF AND APPEARANCE OF OTHER CRACKS IN AREA. IN MOST CASES THE FIRST EVIDENCE OF A PROBLEM WOULD BE WHEN THE VEHICLE IGNITED. ENOUGH GASOLINE DRIPPED OFF TANK AREA ON ASPHALT TO MAR AREA. FORD DEALER HAS VEHICLE AND PARTS, INDICATED IT WOULD BE 4-10 DAYS TO GET REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON JULY 28, 2008 FOR A RADIO PROBLEM. THE MILEAGE ON THE TRUCK WAS 27,371 AT THAT TIME I TOOK THE SERVICE ADVISORS RECOMMENDATION AND HAD A 30,000 MILE SERVICE PERFORMED. SINCE THAT TIME MY TRUCK HAS HAD A GASOLINE ODOR. THIS FUEL ODOR ORIGINATES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND COMES INTO THE CAB THROUGH THE A/C VENTS. THIS GAS ODOR HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY A SERVICE TECHNICIAN, THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE SERVICE MANAGER. Walmart Auto Center installed the incorrect tire size 255/70R17 on my factory setup with factory wheels. Westlake SU318 All Season 255/70R17 112T SUV/crossover tires were installed in place of the correct size 245/70R17 tires. Walmart is refusing to fix my truck and I had the brake lines blow out 3 weeks after installing the tires. I am a current threat to the public and myself driving with these incorrect tires. Walmart will not replace the tires. Walmart is attempting to coverup this by not providing the information to carfax. I have submitted a carfax update case#XXX. The defroster does not blow. There is an issue with the actuator and although the air can be heard blowing, the air is restricted at the firewall. Per the dealership, it is a known issue. I can't drive my truck in winter because it won't defrost. I live in Fargo, ND.

PLUGGED MY SCAN TOOL IN AND SAID I NEEDED BOTH CAMSHAFT SENSORS, MISFIRE ON CYLINDERS 1, 3, & 7. REPLACED ALL 8 PLUGS AND COILS, MOTOR HAD 123XXX MILES. DROVE ANOTHER 4000 MILES AND THE SAME PROBLEMS PERSISTED AND GOT WORSE. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSIS ON THE MISFIRES AND ENGINE TICK, COME TO FIND OUT IT IS A 'LIFTER TAP', SHAVINGS OF ALUMINUM IN MY OIL AND PLUGGING UP THE LIFTERS. MECHANIC SAID TO GET A NEW MOTOR, DON'T BOTH TRYING TO FIX IT. I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 119XXX AND TRUCK RAN FINE IN AUGUST OF 2018.

ON TUESDAY, APRIL 5, 2016, WHILE DRIVING 45 MILES PER HOUR, ON A 2 LANE, BACK COUNTRY, ROAD MY FORD F150, THAT HAD 114,376 MILES BEGAN TO CLANK AND RUMBLE UP UNDER THE HOOD. THE NOISE MADE THE VEHICLE VIBRATE AS THE NOISE GOT LOUDER SO I PULLED OFF OF THE ROAD AND POPPED THE HOOD. THERE WAS SMOKE, CLICKING AND CLANKING ON TOP OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE SO I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. I CALLED MY INSURANCE AND ASKED TO BE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP 5 MILES AWAY. THE TRUCK WAS STILL DRIVE-ABLE BUT SMOKING AND CLANKING. THE NEXT MORNING I LEARNED #2 SPARK PLUG HAD LOOSE STRIPPING THREADS IN THE CYLINDER HEAD AND THE COIL CRACKED FROM THE PLUG BLOWING OUT. THE PLUG AND BOOTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED THE #2 COIL AND THE DEALER HAD TO EXTRACT THE BROKEN SPARK PLUG CYLINDER #2. THE PARTS, SUPPLY, AND LABOR COST WAS $1292.24. I HAVE HAD LARGE V8 ENGINE, VEHICLES ALL OF MY LIFE WITH 200,000 MILES OR MORE ON THE ENGINE BUT NEVER ANY SPARK PLUG ISSUES WITH HIGH MILEAGE ON BOTH SPARK PLUG AND OTHER VEHICLE ENGINE PARTS. IF I HAD CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY TRUCK IT SURELY WOULD HAVE IGNITED CAUSING MORE DAMAGE OR INJURY. THE SPARK PLUG ISSUES WITH FORD NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK IN DECEMBER 2013 WITH 81,160 AND HAD NO PROBLEMS FOR 2 YEARS, 4 MONTHS. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT MY #3 SPARKPLUG HAD CAUSED THE MECHANICAL ISSUE AND ALL PLUGS NEEDED REPLACING. ADDITIONALLY REPLACEMENT OF RIGHT SIDE ENGINE ISSUES RESULTED FROM NOT HAVING DONE THE 100000 MILE TUNE UP (BULL). IT HAD BEEN TUNED UP PREVIOUS TO BEING SOLD. AFTER USING CHOICE WORDS TOWARDS THE DEALER AND ADVISING HIM OF MY OWNERSHIP OF 3, LARGER V8 ENGINES, NO SPARKPLUG EXPLOSIONS HAD EVER OCCURRED IN MY LIFE. ALL MY FORMER VEHICLES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY 2008 F150 HAD NEVER EXPERIENCE SUCH SPARKPLUG EXPLOSION ISSUES AND THESE VEHICLES REACHED CLOSE AND OVER 200,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT DOES NOT COVER THIS ISSUE, NOR WAS THE FORD MANUFACTURE HELPFUL IN ASSISTING WITH THIS MATTER. THE TOTAL COST FOR REPAIRS IS $1295.00, AND MY FIGHT WITH FORD HAS JUST BEGUN.

AFTER REBUILD, MECHANIC WAS DRIVING AND IT STILL HAD PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING, HE THINKS IT IS THE CAM PHASERS CAUSING PROBLEM. HE HAD REPLACED MY PLUGS BEFORE TRANSMISSION WORK TO RULE THAT OUT (ALL 8 OF THE PLUGS BROKE WHILE TAKING THEM OUT, HE HAD NEVER SEEN ALL BREAK ON A F150 BEFORE). ON MARCH 24, 2013, MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE DRIVING TO DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPRT VIA I-70 EAST BOUND. BY TRUCK SLID SIDE WAYS AND HIT THE CONCRETE MEDIAN HEAD ON AND AT SAME TIME WAS HIT BY ANOTHER OUT OF CONTROL VEHICLE WHICH HIT ME IN THE DRIVERS DOOR. THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO SPIN SEVERAL TIMES ACROSS 3 LANES AND RAN INTO GUARD RAIL HEAD ON. UPON ALL THREE IMPACTS THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK NOR DID ANY AIR BAGS DEPLOY CAUSING MY GIRLFRIEND TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND I STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY CHEST AND CHIN. WHEN THE FIRE DEPT. ARRIVED, THEY CUT TALL BATTERY CABLE TO PREVENT THE AIR BAGS GOING OFF ACCIDENTALLY WHILE WE WERE BEING REMOVED FROM THE TRUCK. NO TICKETS WERE ISSUED TO MYSELF OR THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK THAT HIT ME. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALLED AS THE FRAME WAS TWISTED AND TOTAL FRONT END WAS DESTROYED. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD DIRECTLY. STOP AT GAS STATION AND TURNED TRUCK OFF AND ENTERED STORE. RETURNED TO TRUCK AND CRANKED. PUT IN DRIVE DROVE AROUND STATION TO ENTRANCE OF MAIN HIGHWAY. ABOUT 20 YARDS TO STOP SIGN TO HIGHWAY I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH AND I LIFTED RIGHT FOOT OFF OF GAS PEDAL TO APPLY BRAKE. THE TRUCK SLOWLY STARTED TO SPEED UP. I APPLIED THE BRAKE WITH ONE FOOT AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO APPLY MORE GAS UNTIL I HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE AND PUSHING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE AND IT WAS PUSHING ME TOWARD THE HIGHWAY IN FRONT OF A ONCOMING CAR. THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE ARE SO CLOSE TOGETHER ON MY 2008 FORD F150 THAT I HAVE ON OCCASION ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED BOTH THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME WHILE BRAKING. IT FELT AS IF STEERING WAS BINDING WHEN MAKING A TURN. IT WOULD SUDDENLY BREAK FREE AND OVERSTEER WAS A PROBLEM. WHEN COMING OUT OF A TURN THE WHEEL WOULD NOT CENTER ON ITS OWN, BUT HAD TO BE TURNED BACK TO THE STRAIGHT AHEAD POSITION. SPOKE WITH A FORD DEALER AND THEY WANTED AN EXORBITANT CHARGE TO JUST LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND PROFESSED THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF THE PROBLEM BEFORE. I WENT ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND AT LEAST TWO HUNDRED (200) REFERENCES TO THE EXACT ISSUE. IT WAS THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINTS THAT HAD SEVERELY CORRODED. I LUBED THE JOINTS AND THINGS WENT BACK TO NORMAL FOR A FEW DAYS AND THE BINDING RETURNED. I INSTALLED A NEW LOWER SHAFT - FORD PART8L3ZB767B- AND THE TRUCK STEERS LIKE NEW. THE ORIGINAL PART ENDED IN A AND THE B REPRESENTS AN UPDATED VERSION. OBVIOUSLY FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS ENGINEERED A FIX - AND NEVER NOTIFYING THE CONSUMER. A TRUE CONCERN IS THE FOLLOWING. OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT THE WHEEL SHOWED ABOUT 15 DEGREES OF RIGHT INPUT WHILE TRACKING STRAIGHT, HANDS OFF. The truck has a body frame that was cracked in several spots and welded back together in more then 5 different spots and the welding job is very poor. The truck has a power steering line leak, cvs axle leaks and a exhaust manifold leak. The dealership fixed upper ball joints when we agreed on lower and upper in the front. They added a exhaust but did not do the job correctly with completing the job and the welding of it. Ive made a complaint with the loan company and i as well have talked to the owner of the dealership and he fights that none of those things are wrong with the truck and im lying but i have had a inspection done on the truck. When i got the truck i looked it over and so did my brother i pointed the issues of what needed fixed that i could see and that was not done. I then started having issues with the truck and took it to a mechaninc and had an inspection done

I experienced a loss in power while driving and not driving, as well as locking my keys in the vehicle once It would not unlock. The gear shifting knob stopped due to what seemed like resistance an the damaged caused by sales man to the top plunger cap just after i paid. Recently the battery and the alternator are not working and when power is ran through the vehicle, an obvious sound of a live cable buzzing in the rear cab exterior light and seemed to be spliced in a n unsafe way.

The three rear brake lights stay on all the time, even after the truck is turned off and key removed. The malfunction is definitely available for inspection upon request. The safety of myself and others are put at risk, because vehicles behind me don't know when I'm actually applying the brake. This safety defect has been an issue (off and on} for the last 2 years. I'm apprehensive about taking my truck to a Ford Dealership, due to an expense that I shouldn't be responsible for. I have not been able to drive my truck for the last 3 months, due to this safety defect. My truck hasn't been inspected by police or insurance representatives, because I haven't been in a fatal accident yet. I'm the original owner.

BOTH THE FRONT SEATS BROKE (BACK RECLINING PORTION SNAPPED BACKWARD) PLUS NEITHER AIRBAGS INFLATED FROM THE IMPACT. SO MY QUESTION IS WHY WOULD THE FRONT SEATS SNAP BACKWARDS (IS IT DESIGN FLAW?) DUE TO THE CLUSTER MALFUNCTION ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT THE INTERIOR LIGHT WILL COME ON AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING LEADING TO A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD AND SIDE WINDOWS WITCH MAKES SEEING WHERE YOUR GOING VERY DIFFICULT, AND ABOVE THE CLUSTER ON THE DASHBOARD IT BEGINS TO GET HOT WHILE DRIVING SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE THE TRUCK IS PARKED THE INTERIOR LIGHT WILL COME ON FOR NO REASON. I CHECKED THE SWITCH ITS NOT THAT AND FROM WHAT IVE GATHERED ITS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE CONNECTION ON IT, THE CLUSTERS SEEM TO BE A WEAK SPOT ON THESE TRUCKS IVE SEEN MULTIPLE TRUCKS WITH THIS PROBLEM

MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 11 YEARS OLD. I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE FRAME. THE FRAME ON MY VEHICLE HAS RUST HOLES ON THE LEFT HAND INNER SIDE. I BELIEVE THERE IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE IN THE METALWORK FOR THE FRAMES ON 2004-2008 F150 TRUCKS. I WORK AS A SERVICE TECHNICIAN AND MULTIPLE VEHICLES HAVE THIS ISSUE. WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO COVER THE COSTS OF REPAIRING THESE UNSAFE FRAMES DUE TO FORDS NEGLIGENCE TO BUILD THE FRAMES PROPERLY. DUE TO THIS, ANY VEHICLE WITH FRAME ISSUES SUCH AS MINE, IF INVOLVED IN A WRECK, COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. I HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS F150'S OF THOSE YEAR RANGES COME IN WITH FRAMES ROTTED ALL IN THE SAME PLACE AT THE REAR OF THE MAIN FRAME RAIL, NEAR THE GAS TANK. 2009 AND FORWARD DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE THIS ISSUE AS THEY CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE FRAME. THE TRUCK STEERING COLUMN WAS HARD TO TURN. CLUNKING AND STICKING POINTS WERE NOTED DURING TURNING.FOUND LOWER STEERING SHAFT U-JOINT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT SEIZED. THIS COINCIDES WITH LATEST FORD RECALL FOR 2005 - 2011 FORD CARS. THIS WAS DIAGNOSED AS "FROZEN" BY FORD AND REPLACED ON 06/17/13. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE FORD F-150 SERIES TRUCKS. DURING THE SPRING OF 2013 THE HVAC BLOWER MOTOR SPEED SELECTOR SWITCH WAS PRODUCING THE SAME AMOUNT OF AIR ON POSITION 4 AS IT DID ON 3. I REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR, BUT THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK OFF THE DASH TRIM BEZEL TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE REAR OF THE HVAC CONTROLS, AND I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND MELTED & BURNT PLASTIC. A COUPLE OF THE WIRES WERE BROWN FROM WHAT I CAN ONLY ASSUME WAS A SMALL FIRE. WE HAVE A 10 MONTH, OUR FIRST CHILD, AND MY HEART WAS RACING AT THE FEAR OF A VEHICLE FIRE AND GETTING OUR BABY GIRL OUT SAFE IN TIME. SHOULD A FUSE BLOW PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE? I DID SOME LOOKING ONLINE, REPLACED THE SWITCH AND WIRE HARNESS PIGTAIL. IT WORKS FINE NOW, BUT I DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM, AND WHY SO MANY FORDS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ON THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCHES & BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL SWITCHES. IT'S BECAUSE BOTH USE THE SAME 4 WIRE BLADE PLUG. AND THE WAY IT IS ASSEMBLED IS THE CAUSE. THE TERMINALS NEED TO TIGHTER AROUND THE BLADE CONNECTION. ALSO, THE PORTION THAT IS CRIMPED WHERE THE WIRE ATTACHED TO THE TERMINAL SITS OFF CENTER AND ASSEMBLED BACK TO BACK. IF IT WAS ASSEMBLED WITH THE CRIMP ON THE INSIDE IT WOULD CREATE A BIGGER GAP AND REDUCE THE RISK OF VEHICLE FIRES. TWICE IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS MY TRUCK HAS SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP. 2008 FORD F150 CONSUMER STATED THAT VEHICLE SELF-ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD HIS FOOT LIGHTLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL; WHEN HE SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE AND THRUST BACKWARDS AT AN UNSAFE RATE OF SPEED. THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE IMMEDIATELY AND SHIFTED TO PARK; THE ENGINE WAS STILL RACING AT FULL THROTTLE. HE SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND DROVE HOME. ON JANUARY 13, 2010, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. IT HAPPENED FOR A THIRD TIME WHILE STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, WITH HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED. I HAVE A SAFETY CONCERN WITH MY 2008 F-150 FORD SUPERCREW. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS SO MUCH TRAVEL THAT IT GOES PAST THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN A SUDDEN PANIC TYPE STOP. AS THE FOOT PRESSES THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN, THE FOOT AND PEDAL PASSES THE GAS PEDAL AND SOMETIMES, IF YOUR FOOT IS NOT POSITIONED PERFECTLY IT CAUSES THE GAS PEDAL TO BE PRESSED DOWN WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. THUS THE VEHICLE IS TRYING TO ACCELERATE WHILE THE DRIVER IS TRYING TO STOP IT. THIS CAUSES INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES AND WILL LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TWO ALREADY. I HAVE A NOISE PROBLEM AND HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL DEALERS, WHEN YOU HOLD THE ACCELERATOR STEADY IT MAKES A VERY LOUD HISSING NOISE, WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS OR GET ON IT HEAVY IT GOES AWAY, THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WE HAVE TEST DRIVEN WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER A IDENTICAL TRUCK AND IT DOES NOT MAKE THE NOISE AND TRUCKS AT WORK THAT ARE EQUIVALENT DON'T MAKE THE NOISE AS WELL, THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID IT IS NOT RIGHT HOWEVER WHEN AN ENGINEER CAME IN HE COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM AND DEEMED IT A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE, IT DID NOT START MAKING THE NOISE UNTIL IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 5,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS GRADUALLY BEEN GETTING WORSE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT HAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE FAILURES. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CHARGER INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH MEANT THAT THE TURBO CHARGER WAS FAILING. WHEN THE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN AND PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THEY FOUND NO FAILURES WITH THE TURBO CHARGER. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE TAIL PIPE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY FAILED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A SENSOR FAILED. THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED WATER LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE RADIATOR FAILED. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED. A WEEK LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE TURBO CHARGER TUBING FAILED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TURBO TUBING FAILED. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE ISSUE. RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, WHITE SMOKE APPEARED AGAIN FROM THE TAIL PIPE AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. DIESEL FUEL WAS DISCOVERED LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING TO BE INSPECTED BY FORD ENGINEERS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNSURE OF WHAT REPAIRS WERE NEEDED AT THIS TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE OWNER IS ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

TOOK DELIVERY OF 2008 FORD F-150 LARIAT CREW CAB 4X4 ON 4/23/08. YESTERDAY 4/29/08 I WAS PREPARING TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT FROM A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND THE TRUCK SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE WITH MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. I HAD THE SENSATION THAT I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BECAUSE I WAS ADVANCING WITHOUT APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR. WITH THE BRAKES FULLY APPLIED I CONTINUED TO ADVANCE INTO THE PARKING LOT AND I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED INTO PARK IN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND THE ENGINE WAS RACING AT FULL THROTTLE IN PARK, I THEN TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. FROM THE TIME I EXPERIENCED THE SENSATION OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO REST, I ESTIMATE THE DISTANCE OF TRAVEL AT 50 FEET. THERE WERE TWO PASSENGERS IN THE TRUCK WITH ME THAT WITNESSED THE EVENT AND CONCURRED THAT THE TRUCK HAD ACCELERATED SPONTANEOUSLY. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER, EXPLAINED THE EXPERIENCE AND AFTER CHECKING IT OUT INFORMED ME THAT NO PROBLEM COULD BE FOUND. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. *TR
