The gas pedal got stuck while I was driving. I couldn't stop it and lost control. It caused a horrific car accident. 10 people were involved and I'm currently fighting the case in court to prove I was not reckless. It has been inspected by my insurance but unfortunately it was only for damages and not for mechanical issues regarding the gas pedal.

WHILE IN MOTION MAKING A THREE POINT TURN TO TURN AROUND, THE ENGINE SPEED (RPM) INCREASED CAUSING TRUCK TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. SERVICE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE TRUCK. I PUT THE TRUCK TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DEPRESSING THE SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL, THE TRUCK STOPPED AND I SHUTOFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES.

AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, I ACCELERATED RAPIDLY AND LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL ONCE I REACHED THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT...THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN !! I HAD TO STOMP ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN, THREW IT IN NEUTRAL AND ROLLED TO A SCARY STOP. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO REV TO 4000 RPM'S WHILE IN NEUTRAL. MY WIFE JUMPED OUT OF TRUCK WHILE WE WERE AT A RED LIGHT. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF TRUCK. WHILE TRUCK WAS REVVING IN NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN, I TRIED STOMPING ON GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY TO STOP IT FROM REVVING TO NO AVAIL. I FINALLY TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED IT A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE TRUCK IDLED NORMAL. ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS, THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A FEW DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AT DIFFERENT DRIVING SPEEDS. LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED MY TWO CHILDREN WERE IN THE TRUCK AS THE TRUCK ACCELERATED TOWARD STOPPED TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY THE ACCELERATOR LET LOOSE BEFORE WE CRASHED INTO OTHER VEHICLES.

The contact's son owned a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while approximately 10 MPH, he observed smoke emanating from the glove box and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact steered the vehicle to the side of the road, and he observed a small fire by the accelerator pedal. The contact exited the vehicle and opened the hood. The contact stated that flames erupted from the engine compartment when the hood was opened, and he called 911. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. A police report was taken, but the info was not available at this time. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was deemed totaled. There were no injuries. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 201,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the engine rattled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the cam phasers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was advised to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, it would not start. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle fuel pump had failed and determined that it needed to be replaced. The repair was made, however, the failure persisted. The independent mechanic checked the vehicle fuses and replaced a 20 AMP fuse and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure re-occurred and he drove the vehicle to a dealer. The contact had researched that the failure was related to Manufacturer TSB Number: TSB-15-0137 and NHTSA Campaign Number: 10074713 (Engine). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. SPARK PLUG BLOWOUT WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. COMMON PROBLEM WITH 4.6L 2V TRITON ENGINES FROM MY SEARCH RESULTS. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE ISSUE AS THERE IS ONLY A FEW THREADS HOLDING THE SPARK PLUG IN THE ENGINE HEADS.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED WITH 151,000 MILES ON IT. IT RAN GOOD FOR A COUPLE WEEKS THEN IT STALLED WHEN I WAS GOING INTO A LEFT HAND TURN BUT RESTARTED. IT REPEATED THE PROBLEM A FEW MORE TIMES THEN WOULD NOT RESTART. I TOWED IT BACK TO THE USED CAR DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY REPLACEDD THE FUEL PUMP. THAT LASTED ABOUT 2 WEEKS NOW THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. I SEEN MANY OWNERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRUCKS. FORD NEED'S TO TAKE CARE OF THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. My vehicle occasionally gets stuck in a low gear. It has also stalled in a busy intersection. I have taken it to be diagnosed at an independent service center that specializes in transmissions and was told that the problem was the lead frame which has been recalled on later models of my vehicle.

THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT BETWEEN TRANSFER CASE AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS HELD BY A DRIVE SHAFT BRACKET/BEARING WHERE THE TOP OF IT IS WELDED TO THE FRAME CROSS MEMBER. DURING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE POORLY WELDED BRACKET CAME LOOSE. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURE THE WELD WAS POORLY DONE AND HAD NO PENETRATION INTO THE METAL. THE METAL WAS NOT TORN AT ALL AND BROKE COMPLETELY CLEAN OFF WHICH DICTATE A VERY POOR JOB ON THE WELD ITSELF. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THIS PART IS BASICALLY A DUAL SHARP BLADES AT THE WELD BREAK, CONNECTED TO THE DRIVE SHAFT AT FAST RPMS WOULD TAKE LITTLE TO NO TIME TO PUNCTURE AND IGNITE THE NEAR BY FUEL TANK. AS I WAS TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE RIGHT AWAY. IF THIS BREAK OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I FEEL THAT IT WOULD HAVE EASILY PUNCTURED THE FUEL TANK AND IGNITED THE FUEL CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FIRE AND PROBABLE EXPLOSION THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.

Frame of the body is completely rusted through to the point that it is almost unsafe to drive. It was identified when attempting to replace the rocker panel on the passenger side and the list put a hole in the frame. The vehicle has been well maintained but the amount of rust seems unusual for the age of the vehicle. I know the previous owner and he took painstakingly good care of the vehicle and it has been driven very little since I purchased it a couple of years back. The fix is to repair the frame at the cost of $3k plus or let it rust away completely. The amount of rust does not add up and I see similar issues with thousands of comments online.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT NOTICED RUST ON THE BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER CREW CAB DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A DRAIN TUBE CAME FROM THE SUN ROOF AND HAD NO WAY FOR THE WATER TO GET OUT. AS A RESULT, THERE WAS RUST AROUND THE LOWER FRONT STRIP OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS, AND THE BOTTOM TWO CORNERS OF THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS NEEDED TO BE CUT OUT AND THE METAL RE-WELDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER (KIP KILLMON FORD, 201 E MAIN ST, LOUISA, VA 23093 (540) 967-1350) WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT NHTSA'S PHONE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR A VEHICLE OF THAT YEAR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

Same old fuse issue, with only 56,000 miles. Ford is aware, they have a kit to by pass the problem, how ever they will not pay for repair (no recall). Cost almost $500.00 to fix their poor design issue. Buyers beware.

Fuel pump fuse failed. Known issue under TSB-15-0137. Failure of the fuel pump at speed can result in a dangerous situation. I feel this should be covered under recall as the attached picture clearly shows an electrical overload condition.

VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET. ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT FIRE. HAD TO BE TOWED TO FORD DEALER AT COST OF $90. WAS ADVISED BY DEALER SERVICE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FUSE 27 MELTED AND DAMAGED THE FUSE BOX. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR F-150 VEHICLES FOR YEARS 2009 - 2014. TSB 15-0137 WAS ISSUED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2015 BUT NO RECALL WAS ISSUED. COST TO REPAIR WAS $466 OUT OF MY POCKET. FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SIX MODEL YEARS THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. JUST GLAD I WAS NOT ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT CAUGHT ON FIRE FROM THE SEAT HEATER. KEPT SMELL A BURNING SMELL AND COULD NOT DETERMINE THE SOURCE. PARKED THE TRUCK AND LOOKED OUTS DE ABOUT AN HOUR LATER. SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE CAB. OPENED THE DOOR AND SAW SEAT ON FIRE. YOU ASSENGER USED THE SEAT HEATER PRIOR. NO ONE SMOKES IN MY FAMILY SO THERE WAS NO OTHER HEAT SOURCE.

DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN AND QUIT RUNNING. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK AND ONLY AVOIDED A MAJOR ACCIDENT BECAUSE I HAD ROOM TO GO TO THE RIGHT AND THE SEMI HAD ROOM TO SWERVE AROUND ME ON THE LEFT. WHEN I HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A MELTED FUSE BUT THAT THEY WERE ALREADY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAD A "FIX" KIT IN STOCK AND THE REPAIR PROCESS ALREADY DOCUMENTED TO REROUTE THAT FUSE. THIS MEANS THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND I PRESUME WAS JUST WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE ISSUING A RECALL.I HAVE THE REPAIR ORDER AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THEREFORE I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENTIRE $650.00 COST AND DID NOT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A MAJOR ACCIDENT WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPS RUNNING.

The driver was able to reattach the steering wheel and safely pull over. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, who referred him to an independent mechanic for assistance. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who replaced the standard clockspring in the steering wheel, part number CSP200. I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF A 2009 FORD F150 WITH JUST OVER 42K MILES. THE STEERING HAS INCREASINGLY BECOME MORE-AND-MORE DIFFICULT OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN FOR THE MOST PART- PAMPERED. I DO PULL A SMALL UTILITY TRAILER AND THE TRUCK IS NOT A DAILY DRIVER. I FIRST NOTICED THE ISSUE LAST MARCH (2016) AFTER SITTING FOR 6-WEEKS AND THE STEERING DIFFICULTY HAS BECOME MORE PRONOUNCED. THE POWER-STEERING FLUID IS AT THE PROPER LEVEL, THERE ARE NO LEAKS AND TIRE PRESSURE IS NORMAL. YET THE TRUCK STEER'S AND HANDLES AS THOUGH I HAVE LOW/NO AIR IN THE FRONT TIRES AND/OR THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS FAILING. I PLAN ON TAKING THE TRUCK INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR A COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. MY OVERALL CONCERN IS TO COMMUNICATE THE IMPORTANCE THAT STEERING AND HANDLING IS VITAL TO THE "SAFE-OPERATION" OF A MOTOR VEHICLE ESPECIALLY A TRUCK. I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 1999 F150 AND EVEN WITH OVER 100K MILES, STEERING WAS NEVER AN ISSUE. THE STEERING WHEEL ATTACHMENT BOLT WORKED ITS WAY LOOSE AND THE WHEEL FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I ADJUSTED THE STEERING WHEEL L. IT POPPED OFF ITS SETTING AND FELL ON MY LAP. MAKING STEERING IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO ALIGN THE WHEEL AND SHOVEBIT BACK IN PLACE UNTIL I COULD GET VEHICLE STOPPED. THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED AN SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAS THE GOOD ALIGNMENT OF MY TIRES AND LUCKILY I GOT THE WHEEL LINED UP AND ON WITHIN A SECOND.

My airbag warning light came on. The dealer found 2 codes and replaced the parts. When they were done another code came up for weight sensor which is the seat frame. I was told that the part has been discontinued. I have searched for an aftermarket part with no luck. I purchased a used seat but it was not compatible I have a16 year old truck. The service life is as I understand it is 14-20 years. I don’t understand how the manufacturer can stop making safety parts while the vehicle is still in its service life

THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP AS A SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER ISSUE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THAT DEVICE DOES FOR THE AIR BAGS ASSEMBLY, BUT I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE REPLACE THIS FREE OF CHARGE; REGARDLESS OF THE YEAR OF THE TRUCK OR THE MILES ON THE TRUCK. THE PRICE WAS ALSO EXTREME FOR THAT PART. $372.18 JUST FOR THE PARTS. I PAID AN TOTAL OF $631,.65 FOR THIS ISSUE. FORD CASE NUMBER# CAS-16048449-G3B4MI

WHERE IT GOES FROM RUBBER TO METAL. I GOT A NEW ONE FROM THE DEALER TODAY DUBLIN FORD, DUBLIN GA. [$33.00] AND NOTICED THAT IS HAS BEEN MUCH IMPROVED OVER THE ORIGINAL. '09 F150 FX4 W/ 40,900MI. AFTER DRIVING HOME AND GETTING TO MY DRIVEWAY, I HAD TO DRAG MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE INTO THE PARKING SPOT - IT WAS TOTALLY LOCKED AND EXTREMELY HOT/SMOKING. UPON INVESTIGATING, I COULD NOT GET THE BRAKE CALIPER PISTONS TO RETRACT UNLESS I CRACKED THE BLEEDER OPEN. LAST NIGHT I REPLACED EVERYTHING BRAKE RELATED ON THE WHEEL INCLUDING THE RUBBER FLEX LINE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CALIPER WAS FINE. WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS/IS THAT THE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE RUBBER FLEX BRAKE LINE WAS OVER CRIMPED AND PARTIALLY RESTRICTING THE BRAKE FLUID. SECONDLY, CORROSION/RUST HAD BUILT UP BETWEEN THE OUTSIDE OF THE RUBBER BRAKE LINE AND THE INSIDE OF THE BRACKET. AS THE RUST CONTINUED TO BUILD, IT COMPRESSED THE BRAKE LINE UNTIL IT WAS COMPLETELY PINCHED. BY ESTIMATE, I'D SAY THE RIGHT ONE WAS 100% RESTRICTED, AND THE LEFT WAS 90% RESTRICTED. UPON SPEAKING WITH A NEIGHBOR WITH AN '08 F150, HE HAD A VERY SIMILAR OCCURRENCE WHERE THE TIRE WAS ROLLED OFF THE RIM WHEN THE TIRE LOCKED. HE HAD HAVE IT TOWED FOR REPAIRS. MY CONCERN IS THIS IS A FLORIDA TRUCK WITH LIMITED EXPOSURE TO THE MIDWEST. THE RESTRICTED BRAKE LINE OVER TIME HAD TO HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED MY BRAKING CAPACITY OF THE FRONT WHEELS. OBVIOUSLY, AT THE END, IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE BRAKE HAD LOCKED AT SPEED, SIGNIFICANT CONTROLLABILITY ISSUES WOULD HAVE RESULTED. IN THE PICTURES, YOU CAN SEE THE RUST ON THE VICE THAT CAME OUT WHEN WE PRIED THE BRACKET OPEN AND SLIDE THE LINE OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED A FEW YEARS AGO AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KENDALL FORD OF KENAI (10288 KENAI SPUR HWY, KENAI, AK 99611, (866) 387-7984). THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE BRAKE ROTORS, PADS, AND CALIPERS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, BOTH THE ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL OF MY TRUCK. THE MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAYED A READING OF CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM. THE BRAKES BEGAN TO HAVE A PULSATION TO THEM AND THE TRUCK JUST DID NOT WANT TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A MECHANICAL SHOP WHERE THEY CHARGED ME TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM CAUSING THESE SYMPTOMS. THEIR FINDINGS WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECKS REVEALED A FAILED ABS MODULE. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY.

The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated while 45 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and waited for towing assistance to tow the vehicle to the residence. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and was diagnosed with an ABS module failure. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to the Customer Satisfaction Program: 09C07 (Brake Stop lamp Switch Adjustment); however, the VIN was not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact stated that the failure persisted since November 2022. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 183,000.

I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE IT FIXED BECAUSE THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE WARRANTY ONLY "COVERED MOVING PARTS". I ASKED IF THE FUEL GAUGE FLOAT AND FUEL PUMP MOVED. THEY ENJOYED MY RHETORIC, BUT DECLINED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY ONLY REPLACED A SENSOR THAT THREW A LEAN BANK ONE CODE AND CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. WHEN I GOOGLED THE MAKE AND MODEL OF THE TRUCK I FOUND ALL KINDS OF INFORMATION ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, YET FORD ACTED LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. MY VEHICLE SIMPLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY, TWICE. AFTER A SMALL COOL DOWN PERIOD, THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN AND SEEMED FINE TILL A FEW DAYS LATER WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY. ACCORDING TO FORD, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH A FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. IT OVERHEATS AND FAILS CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO STOP WORKING. THEY ALSO HAVE A $20 KIT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS SO COMMON. WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL IS BEYOND ME. MY WIFE AND I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT OR WORSE.

WHILE PASSING A SLOW MOVING VEHICLE THE THROTTLE STUCK AND ALTHOUGH NO PRESSURE WAS ON THE GAS PEDAL, IT KEPT ACCELERATING. BY HEAVY USE OF THE BRAKE, I WAS ABLE TO RETURN TO TOWN, WHERE I SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN. IT IS STILL LOCKED ON, AS WHEN I START IT, THE RPM'S JUMP TO 4000 IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND REQUESTED A TOW. THIS WAS FRIGHTENING, AS I HAD MY GRANDSON IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME.

THIS HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES. THE VEHICLE STALLS WHEN SLOWING DOWN DUE TO THE FUEL PUMP INSIDE THE FUEL TANK GETTING BENT UPWARD DUE TO THE TANK COLLAPSING ON ITSELF BECAUSE IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO VENT PROPERLY. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP BUT IT ONLY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN BENT AS WELL OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THE GAS GAUGE READS IMPROPERLY AS WELL DUE TO THE PUMP NOT REACHING THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK. I CAN ONLY FIT ABOUT 17 GALLONS INTO A 30 GALLON TANK UPON REFILLING. THE STALLING THAT THIS CAUSES HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER OWNERS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD ACCIDENTS. FORD REFUSES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITHOUT CHARGING. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED AND THAT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT FORD NEEDS TO REPAIR. PLEASE REQUIRE FORD TO RECALL AND FIX THIS DESIGN FLAW BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE IS KILLED OR INJURED.

AND THE ENTIRE SECONDARY MARKET WHERE PEOPLE CAN PURCHASE THESE LIGHT BULBS TO REPLACE THEIR EXISTING HEADLIGHT BULBS. AS I WAS BACKING THE TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE MY DRIVEWAY HAS AN DECLINE, THE TRUCK TOOK OFF. IN OTHER WORDS UNINTENDED ACCERLATION. THE ENGINE RPMS WENT VERY HIGH AND THE TRUCK WENT VERY FAST IN REVERSE HITTING MY GARAGE WALL AND MY FATHER WHO UNFORTUNATELY WAS IN THE WAY. ONCE THE TRUCK TOOK OFF I DESPERATELY TRIED PUSHING ON THE BRAKES AND SLAMMING THE TRUCK INTO PARK BUT THE TRUCK DIDN'T STOP UNTIL IT HIT THE GARAGE WALL. MY FATHER SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG BUT WAS INCHES AWAY FROM BEING KILLED. THE TIRE TRACKS ON THE GARAGE FLOOR SHOWED DRAG MARKS AS IF THE FRONT WHEELS HAD LOCKED UP AS THE BACK WHEELS SPED UP. WHILE DRIVING 2009 FORD F150 AT FREEWAY SPEED THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL SEPARATED. WHEN THE WHEEL SEPARATED IT MADE HEAVY CONTACT WITH THE BRAKE CALIPER AND SOME CONTACT WITH THE UPPER A-ARM OF THE SUSPENSION CAUSING VEHICLE TO MOMENTARILY LOOSE CONTROL, CROSSING LANES OF TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY THE ROADS WERE RELATIVELY UNOCCUPIED AND THERE WAS NO COLLISION. THE WHEEL HAD NO PREVIOUS DAMAGE AND HAD NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO DIS-ENGAGE THE CHILD SAFETY DOOR LOCK FEATURE THAT PREVENTS THE DOOR FROM BEING OPENED FROM THE INSIDE, BOTH THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE DOOR LATCHES BECAME COMPLETELY INOPERATIVE PREVENTING THE DOOR FROM BEING OPENED AT ALL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED GOING ON AND OFF PERIODICALLY. AFTER THREE VISITS TO THE DEALER THEY DETERMINED THAT THERE ARE NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. THEY RESEARCHED AND DETERMINED THERE IS A COMPUTER PROGRAM PROBLEM WITH THE MAIN COMPUTER THAT CAUSES THE LIGHT TO GO ON. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, I LEFT OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO SLOW DOWN TO 45 MPH THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT AHEAD. AT 45 MPH, I SLIGHTLY TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR TO MAINTAIN THE 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT, THE RPM'S WENT OVER 4000 AND WOULD NOT STOP. I APPLIED THE BRAKE, BUT THE ENGINE KEPT THE RPM'S BETWEEN 4000 AND 4200. I STOMPED ON THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET AND THE UN-INTENDED ACCELERATION STAYED AT THE HIGHER RPM. I COULD HEAR THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGE TO HELP SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN, BUT THE ENGINE LABORED OVER 4000 RPM. I CHECKED THE CONDITION OF THE FLOOR MAT ASAP TO VERIFY IT WAS NOT ON TOP OF THE ACCELERATOR. I THEN TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED AND ALL SEEM NORMAL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR SHOW ANY COMPUTER CODE ERRORS.

I BOUGHT A PREOWNED 2009 FORD F-150 IN NOVEMBER 2011 WITH 49000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I HAD ALWAYS COMPLAINED THE INSTRUMENT GAUGES WERE DIFFICULT TO SEE. I FINALLY INVESTIGATED AND REALIZED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS NOT ILLUMINATED UNDER DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS. IT IS ONLY ILLUMINATED WHEN THE PARKING LIGHTS OR HEADLIGHTS ARE ON. THE ONLY WAY TO GET ILLUMINATION DURING DAYLIGHT IS TO COVER THE LIGHT SENSOR THUS SIMULATING DARKNESS. THIS,HOWEVER, ONLY ILLUMINATES THE GAUGES AT THE LOWER SETTING FOR NIGHTTIME DRIVING. THE DIMMER KNOB/WHEEL IS OPERATIONAL BUT DOES NOT INCREASE ILLUMINATION TO THE LEVEL EXPECTED FOR DAYLIGHT DRIVING. I WAS ENTERING AN ON-RAMP ONTO THE INTERSTATE AND ACCELERATING AT THE TIME. AS I WAS NEARING THE END OF THE RAMP, I FELT THE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING FASTER THAN I HAD INTENDED. I took the car to the dealer and they said that I have to replace it and they are charging me 5,400 dollars. They said that some 2009 F150 module were bad from factory, but there's not recalls for it to be fixed by them.

ON 3 OF THEM, IT INVOLVED PASSING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND ON THE LATEST (10/22/16), IT HAPPENED ON A HARD ACCELERATION IN CITY CONDITIONS WHILE ACCELERATING FROM SLOW TO FASTER SPEED. IN EACH EVENT, PRESSING ON THE BRAKE DID HOLD BACK SPEED, BUT FULL ACCELERATION RESUMED IF BRAKE WAS RELEASED AT ALL. VERY LUCKY TO HAVE AVOIDED ACCIDENT / DEATH!

WHILE TURNING ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE HAS DIED AND WAS HARD TO STEER. ONCOMING CARS HAD TO BRAKE RAPIDLY AS I HAVE HAD A HARD TIME STEERING WITH NO POWER. AT AROUND 3500 MILES ON MY 2009 FORD F150 SUPERCREW, I NOTICED A MILDEW SMELL AND CONDENSATION FORMING ON THE INSIDE OF MY WINDOWS. ON JANUARY 2, 2010, IN AUSTIN, TEXAS, I WAS ACCELERATING IN A 2009 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW TO ENTER A RESTRICTED ACCESS HIGHWAY AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME LODGED ON AN AFTERMARKET WEATHERTECH BRAND FLOOR MAT AT FAIRLY CLOSE TO FULL THROTTLE. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ONE IN MY LANE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS ABLE TO SWITCH THE VEHICLE OFF, SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND HOLD MY LANE POSITION AS I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A STOP. I DISLODGED THE ACCELERATOR FROM THE MAT AND THEN REMOVED THE MAT. AT THAT POINT, I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE MY TRIP. I PURCHASED THE MATS DIRECTLY FROM WEATHERTECH ON DEC 27,2008. SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED THE MATS, WEATHERTECH THEN SENT ME REPLACEMENT MATS FOR THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION FOR THE REPLACEMENT MATS. CURIOUS AS TO THE REASON AND CONCERNED THAT I WAS BEING CHARGED AGAIN FOR MATS, MY WIFE CALLED WEATHERTECH'S SERVICE LINE. SHE WAS TOLD THAT WEATHERTECH WAS NOT "SATISFIED WITH THE FIT" OF THE FIRST SET OF MATS THAT WE RECEIVED. THERE WAS CERTAINLY NO INDICATION THAT THERE WAS ANY SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE ORIGINAL MATS. I COMPARED THE NEW MATS TO THE ORIGINAL ONES AND COULD SEE NO SUBSTANTIAL DIFFERENCE, SO I DID NOT REPLACE THEM, AND SIMPLY PUT THE NEW MATS IN MY GARAGE, UNUSED. AFTER THE JAN 2, 2010 EVENT, I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS INDEED A CHANGE. A CHANGE THAT I NOW KNOW TO BE VERY SIGNIFICANT. THE REPLACEMENT MAT HAS A ?CUT OUT? I HAVE HAD NO ANSWER TO MY CONCERN. I PURCHASED A NEW 2009 FORD XLT FOUR DOOR EXTENDED CAB PICKUP IN FEBRUARY. IN APRIL 2009, I NOTICED THAT THE INSIDE DASH LIGHTS (GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER, ETC.) CAME ON ONLY WHEN IT WAS VERY DARK OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS TRUE WHETHER THE LIGHT SWITCH IS IN THE MANUAL OR THE AUTOMATIC POSITION. THE DASH LIGHTS WILL NOT RESPOND WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED IN THE MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC POSITION UNLESS IT IS VERY DARK OUTSIDE OR YOU PLACE YOUR FINGER OVER THE ELECTRIC EYE. THE FORD DEALER FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AGREED THAT THE DASH LIGHTS SHOULD ILLUMINATE WHENEVER THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON AND KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR FIVE DAYS TRYING TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THEY FINALLY GOT HOLD OF THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY HOT LINE AND WERE TOLD THAT THE CURRENT LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR THIS VEHICLE IS A RESULT OF A PROGRAMMING CHANGE MADE BY THE COMPANY FOR 2009. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ONLY SOLUTION TO MY CONCERN WOULD RESULT AS A PROBABLE RECALL FOR ALL OF THE VEHICLES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IN LATE MAY 2009, I CALLED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY'S RELATIONSHIP CENTER AND RELATED THE ABOVE-STATED CONCERN. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND COURTEOUS AND INDICATED THAT HE WOULD FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO APPROPRIATE DEPARTMENTS WITHIN THE FORD ORGANIZATION. HOWEVER, HE DID NOT FEEL THAT I WOULD BE GETTING ANY RESPONSES. I UNDERSTAND THE YOUNG MAN'S DILEMMA (IT'S A TECHNICAL PROBLEM WHICH NEEDS A TECHNICAL INPUT). I AM STILL WONDERING WHETHER A FORD COMPANY PROGRAMMING CHANGE IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM OR IF MY CONCERN IS JUSTIFIED. I BELIEVE THERE ARE SOME SAFETY ISSUES TO BE ADDRESSED, I.E.
