How to read a Ford Fiesta VIN — every digit explained
Every Ford Fiesta carries a unique 17-character VIN stamped at the factory. Each position is a code — together they spell out where, when and how your car was built. Here's exactly what every digit means.
- WMI (1–3) — country & manufacturer. 4T1 = Toyota, built in the USA.
- VDS (4–8) — model line, body style, engine & restraint system.
- Check digit (9) — a math check that proves the VIN is genuine.
- Model year (10) — the year it was built. H = 2017.
- Plant (11) — which factory assembled this Fiesta.
- Serial (12–17) — the unique sequential production number.
Model-year code (10th digit)
The 10th character is the model year. It cycles through letters and numbers, skipping I, O, Q, U, Z and 0 to avoid confusion:
Where to find your Fiesta VIN
- Dashboard — driver's side, visible through the windshield from outside.
- Driver's door jamb — on the manufacturer sticker when you open the door.
- Paperwork — vehicle registration, title and insurance card.
- Engine bay & frame — stamped on the firewall or chassis on many models.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle with his foot on the brake pedal and off the accelerator, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated to an undisclosed speed. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a fence, where it stalled, and the contact was unable to restart it. The air bags did not deploy. The transmission warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. A police report was filed. 12 individuals suffered injuries, with 7 being transported to the ER and treated for various injuries. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission as well as the transmission control module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 150,000.
I was pulling out of a county park after dark, and was trying to gauge the distance of an incoming car, to determine whether or not i had time to pull out. In order to see better, i lightly pressed the accelerator, but instead of slowly inching forward a few inches or a foot, my car leapt out into the path of the oncoming car and then stopped. I tried to throw the car in reverse, but there wasn't time to react. The other driver tried to slow down and swerve to avoid me, but was unable to avoid hitting my door. Me, my three children, and the driver of the other car were all taken to the hospital by ambulance. The children were not admitted, as they only had a few bruises, but the other driver and i were both admitted and subsequently released that same night. I received a citation for failing to yield, which i plan on contesting. My car has leapt out into a cross-street like that after stopping for stop signs several times, but always to a lesser extent, and never on a busy street. It always takes several seconds after this occurs for the accelerator to function again, which is why i tried to throw my car in reverse instead of driving forward. I have also had problems with my transmission shuddering profusely upon excellerating after stops. I received a notice from ford dated august 2014, stating that they were extending the warranty on my clutch and transmission input shaft seals, and transmission software calibration to 7 years or 100,000 miles, because of these types of problems, and urging me to have them repaired if experiencing shuddering. Because of my husband's work schedule, we had not gotten around to having the seals replaced yet as reccomended. I feel that the transmission issues that i had been having with my car, are directly responsible for my collision, and could easily have resulted in the deaths of 5 people. *tr

On april 11, 2021, the 2015 ford fiesta i was driving unintentionally accelerated into a commercial building at a shopping mall. The car had two incidents of accelerating while applying the brake prior to the final incident where the car ran into a wall and was totaled. The car had never exhibited any braking or acceleration issues before this day. The first incident, i was slowing down to go over a speed bump. As i was applying the brake, the car jerked forward then stopped. It drove as normal through traffic for the next 8 miles. I was close to my destination, as i was applying the brake at a stop light, the car sped up and stopped when i pulled the emergency brake. Again, the car drove fine for the next mile. I was very aware while i was pulling into a parking space. Neither the brake or accelerator was applied as i was coasting into a space. As i applied the brake, the car sped up, jumped the curb and accelerated into the side of a building. According to a witness and supported by pattern of skid marks, at one point the car was airborne. With the distance of about 15 feet between the curb and wall, there was little time to react. In my attempt to pull the emergency brake, i injured my thumb. My passenger sustained various bruises from the seat belt and the front dashboard. Neither the driver nor passenger airbags deployed. According to the black box report, the car accelerated from 0-100% in the final 5 seconds and the brake was applied at 10%-55%, yet the car continued to accelerate. I did not remove my foot from the brake until after the car impact, which is supported by skid marks shown in photos. In august 2019, ford motor was aware of a transmission clutch shutter issue, but still proceeded with selling the car to an auction. One month later, i purchased from a dealership.

The transmission on this vehicle has locked up several times. Within a week of purchasing this 2015 ford fiesta in january 2016, i had to take it back to the dealership for transmission issues. The car was jerking and wouldn't take the gas or back up. They kept the car for a week and told me that they replaced some items within the transmission and gave it back to me for my teenage daughter to drive. Since that day, i've taken the car back several times for the same issue. The technicians have started telling me that there's nothing wrong with the car when clearly there is something wrong with the car. It has stalled and would not move and cars were coming that has almost gotten my teenage daughter killed. I have taken it back to the dearlership several times for this issue and they keep refreshing it but nothing changes. I have had to make my daughter park the car since she's a college student and purchase her a new vehicle. This vehicle is not safe and i certainly wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing this car. Ford has been no help in resolving this situation. She had a car accident on a county street on 8/13/2018 because of this vehicle's issues but the airbags didn't deploy.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while making a left turn at the traffic light, with her grandchild in a car seat in the rear passenger seat, the rear passenger's side door opened inadvertently. The contact stopped in the middle of the road. A bystander attempted to close the rear passenger's side door; however, the door failed to closed. The bystander was able to keep the door closed by using a cord. The contact moved her grandchild to the rear middle seat. The contact also stated that while driving on another occasion, the front driver's side and front passenger's side doors inadvertently opened. Additionally, the contact stated while driving on a slight incline, the vehicle inadvertently rolled back. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the failed to respond. The contact engaged the electronic parking brake; however, the vehicle rolled to the base of the incline. The contact was able to continue driving on the leveled road surface. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving on an incline. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised to contact the dealer for recall repairs. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact also stated that the seat belts pretensioners of the vehicle were not retracting as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously involved in a crash. The contact stated while idled at the traffic light, another vehicle crashed into the front end of the vehicle. The front driver's side air bag and knee air bag deployed and propelled burning fragments on the contact's face, legs, neck chest, arms. The contact also stated that the front driver's side air bag also hit her on her chin and neck and knocked her unconscious. The contact was transported to the hospital by emergency services. A police report was filed. The contact stated that she sustained burns all over her body and had been receiving neck bone and hip bone treatment The vehicle was taken to an autobody shop for repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
My cars transmission jerks, powers down, hesitates. I have taking it back to the dealer several times and was told there is nothing wrong, one time i had a computer update. I had a lot of close calls due to the way this car operates. April 2015 my luck ran out. Evening traffic was heavy and sitting at a red light and when it turned green the car did the hesitation and this time my daughter was in a head on collision and the car is a total loss. My daughter had a neck injury and second degree burns to her arms.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while at a complete stop at the traffic light, the vehicle inadvertently lunged forward and crashed into the rear of another occupied vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was filed. The contact was able to continue driving. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Catastrophic Engine Failure due to the manufacturer's recommendation and use of conventional motor oils in the form of Synthetic Blend Motor Oil or Super Premium Motor Oil, a specification WSS-M2C945-B1 , from the 2019 Ford Fiesta Owner Manual. It leaves the driver and occupants stranded in the middle of the road with an inoperable vehicle. Being a small 4 cylinder engine the engine is high revving and produces sludge. Whereas if the manufacturer recommended Full Synthetic oil as the car parts store do as part of the oils usable for that specific model. There would have been no engine failure as occurred with my vehicle on 11/22/2022. No sludge would form in the engine. Because synthetic oil is proven not produce any sludge in an engine. I believe a recall should result in the manufacturer recommending full synthetic in the owner manual and engine oil be replaced by dealer service to full synthetic as well as engine work be done due to damage from conventional oil.
I was involved in a MINOR motor vehicle accident. 9/21/2022 during the accident my 2017 ford fiesta suffered considerable damage(which I was ticketed for, they said wreckless driving.. I wasn't speeding and I have police reports to back this up). The car did its job and no one was substantially hurt. When I got a chance to look at the car further I noticed the passenger side motor mount(plate not the entire mount) exploded during the crash and allowed the engine to be pushed back. On that side. After retrieving the pieces that remained, there was a clear issue with the part previously mentioned. There is obvious gas porosity in the cast aluminum part. The car has since been brought back to running and driving condition. My over all concern is people potentially being charged criminally over what could be a manufacturing flaw. If the mount plate had held the damage my car received would have been considerably less. I'd like to also note I stopped at my local ford service center to inquire about this aswell. And he recommended I get in contact with ford(manufacturing) I tried by phone and that's almost impossible. I've attached photos for reference
Turning a curvature on a mountain road steering locked and brakes failed car went over the mountain as a result passangers three were injured and one fatality.
I was rear ended by a ford f350 so hard that i hit the car in front of me, a honda accord. The back of my 2011 ford fiesta is smashed in and the front of the car, is smashed in. The back window is scattered, the sunroof slider fell back into the car, the front right wheel (passenger side) is bent, and the car does not turn on. I understand in rear end crashes the air bags usually do not go off, but when i hit the car in front of me, the air bags should have gone off. *tr
Goes with Incidents: 11501018, 11501025, 11500972 & 11500985 I am 100% Disabled, but work occasionally via SSA Ticket to Work program, for Amazon, using Ford Fiesta to deliver packages. 9.11.22 at 4:30AM delivering package to [XXX], on North side of road. As I backed out of driveway, now facing East, and busy road, Hiller Rd. I had only just gotten in, NO seatbelt on backing up. Switched from Reverse to Drive, foot still on brake, car took off, as if I'd stomped on accelerator, but my foot was on brake still. Hitting brakes, I flew almost to Hiller Rd., brakes not working, car speeding, steering worked. Tried to slow down, was on South side of road, on people's lawns. Going so fast, I went into ditch, then came up out of ditch! Narrowly avoided mailboxes. Last house before Hiller Rd. on my right, tried to slow down in large lot next door, didn't work. They have huge boulders along edge of grass, I not only slammed into a boulder, but they had chopped down trees too, laid them down along edge of grass with boulders. Car went UP, against gravity, ONTO one of these trees, before hitting the boulder. If you can imagine, from hood to bumper, and further out each end, I was UP, on top of a tree, the bumpers dug into it, so the 4 tires were loose on each side, front hit boulder. Hadn't put on seatbelt yet, my head slammed into steering wheel, airbags didn't deploy again, $400 cell phone screen split, cracked. I hit my head so hard, it knocked me out, I'm not sure how long, seconds to minutes. Came to, was on tree, tried to somehow dig car out, with flashlight and crowbar. Ended up calling Amazon emergency, it was Sunday, too early, not there. Called Geico, then 3 other tow co.'s, after 2 hours Lakeside Towing came by, had to use winch and flatbed, had to chop up tree was on, pull back from boulder. Was stuck there for hours. Phone screen shattered, had to be replaced, pay $125 for a tow, hit head, bumpers, scratched, all b/c this Ford Fiesta. I leased the car through my bank on may 5th 2016 with just over 35,000 miles. Two months into that the car didn't start and all electronic lights were flickering. It displayed transmission malfunction. I towed the car to a big ford repair shop. They said it needed a new transmission update and a new clutch. They took care of it. This has happened seven (7) times since i got the car may 2016. Pretty much every four months. It is completely inconvenient and costly. I have also been having problems with the evap fuel components. I have a check engine light on now and it needs to be serviced. The last time i got a transmission update from ford was in march 2019. My car now barely has 66,200 miles so it's very disappointing the amount of work and transmission issues i've had to deal with. I still owe $4,800 on the car. I leased it for $12,000. I am hoping i am able to get some help or some kind of compensation for dealing with the issues for years. I traded in a good working jeep to get this car because i thought it would be good on gas and economical. This is my first ford car. I will probably never buy another ford car. I wouldn't want to get burned again. Thank you for your time.
While driving on the expressway my car began smoking and began to overheat which caused a cracked cylinder head that sprayed oil all over the inside of my hood sparking a small fire under the hood. The computer began to shut the car down and displayed a warning message that stated sudden loss of oil pressure, please prepare to pull over safely. Just as i read that message the brakes started to lock and the steering became harder to turn as i tried to get off the next exit from the expressway. I reinjured my broken ankle in trying to keep stop and control the car. Once pulled over the car continued to smoke and no longer started. I filed a claim with my insurance and it was denied as they found the cause was due to recall mechanical or electrical breakdown still under powertrain warranty. I went online and found on the ford motor company mediacenter website this recall notice date 3/29/17. My vin # was not on this list but to the letter is what i experienced: ford issues safety recall for certain 2013-15 ford escape, ford fiesta st, ford fusion and ford transit connect 1.6-liter gtdi vehicles for under-hood fire risk ford is issuing a safety recall in north america for approximately 230,000 2014 ford escape, 2014-15 ford fiesta st, 2013-14 ford fusion and 2013-15 ford transit connect vehicles equipped with 1.6-liter gtdi engines. Ford's investigation of these vehicles has identified a risk of under-hood fires. In the affected vehicles, a lack of coolant circulation could cause an engine to overheat, resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. A cracked cylinder head can result in a pressurized oil leak. Oil that comes into contact with a hot engine surface increases the risk of a fire in the engine compartment. Ford is aware of 29 reports of fire associated with this issue in the united states and canada. No injuries have been reported.

Tl* the contact owned a 2016 ford fiesta. While driving 60 mph, flames appeared under the hood of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road. When he exited the vehicle and opened the hood, the contact noticed flames between the battery and the engine. The vehicle was destroyed. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The manufacturer and dealer had not been contacted. It was unknown if the fire department was called to extinguish the fire and if the vehicle was towed. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 23,500.

We were on the highway while it was snowing. All of the other vehicles were slowing down because there was an accident blocking off the highway. Eventually we all came to a stop. After we stopped there was a yukon that was unable to stop because of conditions and its load and hit us from behind. He was probably going 35 mph. Both the passenger and driver's head flung back against seats. No airbags deployed. Passenger has suffered in the spine from this accident. *tr

I was involved in an accident on the freeway the vehicle was struck twice and careened into the center divider once before coming to rest. The airbags never deployed. I sustained a broken neck by hyper extending my neck over the steering wheel.
Our daughter was in a 3 car accident. There was bridge construction and all of a sudden traffic went from moving at highway speed to stopped. Directly ahead of our daughter was a refrigerator truck. Our daughter was not able to stop quickly enough and struck the back of the refrigerator truck. The speed listed above is an estimate. No one in the other vehicles were hurt, nor did their cars sustain repairable damage. My daughter's car was stopping straight at the point of collision and struck the back of the truck square. The officer at the scene suggested she be checked out in the er. My daughter sustained soft tissues injuries and bruises. After some time with the chiropractor she should be fine. My question/concern deals with the air bag system. The driver knee airbag deployed, the steering wheel airbag did not. Is that possible? Are there situations where it is appropriate for the lower bag to deploy without deploying the steering wheel air bag? The seat belt did stop her, although it left a large red mark on her shoulder. If the system worked correctly that is fine. We would like to hear from someone with expertise in this area to make sure that there is nothing faulty in her car. If needed we can supply photos to show the exact damage. The vehicle is at the dealership now for repairs, so the mileage is a good estimate. Thank-you for your help.
On august 5 i fell asleep and ran into the back of a truck stopped at a light. My knee air bag deployed but the steering wheel bag did not and the shoulder belt did not deploy causing me to hit the steering wheel very hard bruising my sternum and causing surrounding muscle inflammation that is still sore today.
Vehicle was in a minor 'fender bender' during rush hour - stop and go - traffic. Airbags did not deploy and damage to the 2011 fiesta ses was fixable. Very minimal damage (dent) to car in front of my vehicle. My vehicle went from fixable to igniting and a total loss. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford fiesta. The contact stated that as he was making a left turn and he was rear ended. The left rear quarter panel was hit and the vehicle turned sideways. As a result, the rear axel was bent and the left rear wheel was angled inward. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealer body shop for green chevrolet, inc. 8017 knoxville ave, peoria, il 61615 (888) 701-3462. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The dealer diagnosed issue as a damaged and bent axle and wanted to replace it with a used axle. The vehicle was still being repaired with another used axel at this time. The manufacturer had not been called yet. The failure mileage was 69,800.
I was involved in a crash totaling the vehicle when braking the car did not slow down this incident happened on an interstate
My recall states that ford has not issued instructions to stop driving your vehicle under this safety. My back door latch opened while driving which makes the car undrivable and needing a tow, possibly causing an accident. I had a ptsd response to the incident and had to go to the doctor because of the stress induced on my body. I also required medical massages. My front door hinge also was about to break the service dept informed me as well which is not on this recall. Other owners may not be so lucky.
My ford fiesta 2014 has a recall with the module valve. At present i took it into the shop 3 different times. 1) richmond highway 2/2014 2) 9/2015 and 3) 3/2016 at present my car has been in the shop for 10 weeks

This goes with Incidents 11500972 & 11500985 2015 Ford Fiesta SE purchased 2.8.18 Crest Ford in Center Line, MI From my other reports, car has had all kinds of issues. This is 3/5 and these are all ACCIDENTS. In early 2019, I was coming home from a medical appointment in the morning. I was the 4th car, sitting at the busy intersection of 9 Mile and Kelly, which was ON 9 Mile, going West. The light was red. I had my seat belt on, like always, my foot on the brake, looking straight ahead at the light. Suddenly, the car shook, like as if a semi was going by, but no one was moving. And even tho my foot was squarely on the brake, the car took off, like someone had pressed the accelerator peddle! Quickly I pressed as hard as I could down further on the brake, but it didn't matter. The car kind of jumped, then took off, again, like someone was had stomped on the accelerator. I was in the right-most lane, I slammed into the Sedan in front of me, which shoved his car off the road, up the edge, and onto the sidewalk, so I was almost sideways. I was horrified. My air bags did not deploy. The man driving and a 2nd man got out, they were furious, screaming what was wrong with me? I didn't know how to explain that the car took off on its own, while my foot was on the brake! He was yelling and screaming, luckily his air bags didn't do off either. This dented his bumper, but he didn't have insurance, didn't want to get the police involved or make a report, which was fine with me. Since, I have been very cautious stopped at lights, always expecting this to happen again, and it has! Not as dramatically, but sitting stopped, foot on brake, no rhyme or reason, car suddenly jumps, accelerates. I thought I must be going crazy, I've never heard of a car doing this. Well reading the reports of the Ford Fiesta problems, I see other cars doing this too. I won't take it across like a bridge, imagine it accelerating over the side into the Great Lakes. Very dangerous.
Goes with Incidents: 11501018, 11500972 & 11500985 I am 100% Disabled, but work occassionally via SSA Ticket to Work program, for Amazon, using Ford Fiesta to deliver packages. 2.1.22 I bought 4 new tires from Costco. 2.3.22 I was delivering in a rural area, about 3:30PM. It had snowed. I had delivered to a farm, drove back to main road, but on the way, stopped to look at and take photo from car of some cute horses wearing coats. No one around, road pretty flat. As I went to move forward, this is really bad, the road went UP and it was angled, the car again, took off, as in my other report. Luckily I had my seatbelt on. I believe I had just shifted to Drive, foot still on brake, and this car was like I had stomped down on the accelerator. Also luckily, I was not facing those horses! I couldn't believe it, car went flying UP this road, brakes not working, I could steer, it was taking me right towards a BUSY ROAD. My heart was pounding, going UP this angled road, should have stopped the momentum, it did not. I turned the steering wheel, hard, to the right. Somehow as the tracks in the snow showed, the car did go to the right, but it kept going, across the road I was on, to the left side, into a ditch and a bale of hay! This was about 1 house from that main, busy road. With new tires. 1st a FedEx driver saw what happened, asked about the tracks going to one side then the other. He tried to pull me out, but couldn't. Then a nice farmer and his gf stopped, he had a large 4-wheel drive, after an hour, even with shovels, we couldn't get out, he went back home, brought a 2nd truck, some ropes, they slowly dragged me out, away from hay stacks. They also noticed my basic S-curve, I couldn't stop, so I drove into the hay! This Ford did what it did before, took off with no pressure on the accelerator. It was stopped. I certainly didn't stomp down, I was braking and steering. I was stuck in freezing cold for 2+ hours. Then spent $325 on new brakes, rotors.
My 2014 Ford Fiesta started to "Smoke". There was a smoldering Electrical short emitting smoke from fusebox. The car would not Start after this incident. I have a letter from Ford indicating the Fusebox had a recall on this Issue due to a corrosion defect. I took it to local Ford dealer who Confirmed recall/defect
This car is very dangerous to own and drive. The tcm transmission control module .is always failing. It has went out many time and i have almost died several times over.it has destroyed the clutches many times as well. Went to cross a road get half way through and loss power and not go any where ,stalls out in traffic and no starts need to merge with traffic on highway it will let go as you merge then you get ran over again this car has nearly killed us many times over.it has been repaired many times for the same reason .this has occurred many times intown traffic and highway traffic and setting still .i bought this car brand new and it was only five months into owning it it went to hell
In september of 2015 i was sitting in my ford fiesta (18k) engine running and in park and all the lights came on the dash and the car shut off. I tried to start the car by pushing the push to start and the first time it did not work but the second time the car started and i was on my way. In october 2015 i was driving back from a job interview and doing 40 mph on a two lane road. I was going to make a sweeping right turn and the car shut completely off causing the steering wheel to lock. I lost control as i could not turn the car went across a lane of traffic and hit a curb at about 30 mph. Major front right damage. I was able to drive the car about 5 miles to the local ford dealer. They interviewed me twice on what happened (stating that they believed my account of what happened) and gave me a car to drive while ford corp. Was investigating. Ford came back and said there was nothing wrong with the car and that there were no codes but the transmission code(a known problem) i stated that there would not be any codes if the ignition shut off but my complaints fell on death ears as the dealer said there was nothing they could do since ford corp made their decision. I stated that i did not want the car back (it was a lease) that i would not drive a car that ford could not assure me that this problem would not happen again. Ford knows they have major problems with the fiesta that is why they are willing to give you extra incentive $$ to lease something else. In the end i had to pay 4k for the repair and i was 5k upside down on the trade (which i applied to the new lease). Ford corp did not stand behind the product nor did they offer to help in anyway. I did lease a ford focus because i had to have a car and did not have 9k to walk away from ford motor company.this is a huge safety concern that needs to be addressed. Do not buy a ford fiesta. *js
Vehicle Speed Control 197 Read
On july 15th 2019, my son was going around a sharp right corner when the car sped up out of control and crashed into a utility pole head on. My son was driving on a city street and was going approximately 30 miles an hour. He's uncertain what caused the sudden acceleration. The car was totaled and my son has a severely broken foot.
When i moved gearshift from park to drive, car accelerated violently. I do not believe i accidentally used the accelerator, this occured in parking lot.after moving about 20 feet i hit a heavy gate with enough force to do extensive damage to car including bent chassis.
Ford dealership "fixed" the transmission on 7-24-19 except it's not fixed. At a stop when pressing the gas the car won't move then suddenly launch forward randomly. It also still loses all engine power while driving down the road. These were the same symptoms as before the "fix". This issue has caused a minor accident as well. We got lightly rear ended when a light turned green, we started moving forward and at about 7-10mph we lost all power and the person behind us couldn't stop quick enough. Damage was minor, just some chipped paint but it could have been much worse.
Since week 1 the car (when at a stop and in gear) if you pressed the accelerator at any level the car would do nothing then after roughly 3-6 seconds it would randomly launch forward. It would also seemingly go into neutral on the highway which led to a complete loss of engine power. This also happens when on a normal road at any speed and is completely random and one time at a red light we began to accelerate then power suddenly cut out and we got rear ended lightly. I told peter's ford in nashua nh during our 1st 3 oil changes about the issue and was told implicitly that it was completely normal and i shouldn't worry about it as it will just go away on its own. Essentially i was brushed off despite 3 complaints that never led to the dealer checking the car. These issues have been constant since we bought the car brand new in 2016.

I was driving to work this morning; the car made a horrible "clunk" when I accelerated to around 20 then lost power and nearly crashed. The car then displayed error lights (yellow CEL, yellow wrench icon, HEAD unit showed "transmission issue service immediately" This is a direct result of the DPs6 transmission put into all 7th gen Ford Focus/Fiesta models. This DCT transmission has been replaced 3 times for this particular car and failed the same manner each time - meaning 3 near accidents have occured because this transmission fails. Across the USA; more than 50 people have been injured as a result of this transmission failing.
This car haa trouble going the speed of traffic. It takes very long to gain speed as well as break and also jerks uncontrollably.
Takara recall i've owned this death trap since 2012 and has had the dual transmission replaced at least twice.. It has always jerked and stalled out on me while traveling through intersections, pulling off from stop signs/red lights, and while driving up hills. It's embarrassing, but most of all unsafe for me, my children, and other drivers.

The brakes stick and then when i hit the gas its sluggish and just takes off full force. Causing 50% gas loss. The breaks are getting stuck. Calipers sticking. This is a fire hazard
Car accelerates shifting weirdly, airbag light came on after a few days of signing the lease. I believe this is something that needs to be checked out. The RPM jumps up and down while idling. I feel like this car is very new and shouldn’t have engine problems. Has been routinely maintained.
Purge valve canister failed on my 2019 Ford Fiesta. I only mention this, because 2012-2018 Ford Focus models had a recall that was similar, and my Purge Valve Canister went out after 1 year and approximately 60,000 miles.
My fuel canister purge valve needs replacement less than 70,000 on car. The cap less gas cap defective as well. Why did they make these cuz everyone is having problems with the purge valve and cap less. It all on YouTube. Where is the recall,.

My wife and i were on rt3 traveling at about 50mph when we were hit on the left side which pushed us across the highway into a stone wall the car was damaged on the entire left side and front and right side and front the only air bag that deployed was at the knee there were no other air bags deployed we were both injured we have the police report and pictures.
*tr
My car was not part of the airbag recall, so i did not worry about it. A few days ago i was in an accident, the damage was significant and the car totaled, there were several hits as the car was being bounced from one vehicle to another at highway speed, one of those vehicles being a semi. Not a single airbag deployed and as a result all those in the fiesta got injured, one had to be taken to the er/icu and remains in a bad condition.
