Yes — VIN decoding, specs, recalls, safety and window stickers are free, no signup. Full vehicle-history reports are an optional paid add-on via our partner.
How accurate is the data?
It's sourced from official NHTSA, EPA and manufacturer records. Coverage can vary by make and model year, so always verify critical details with official sources.
Can I find a vehicle's owner from a VIN or plate?
No. Owner identity is protected by the federal DPPA and is never shown — ForCar provides vehicle data only.
Do you store the VINs or plates I search?
Decoded VINs may be logged anonymously to power "recent checks" and improve the service. We don't store plates. See our Privacy Policy.
