Car began leaking coolant, overheating, smoking (white smoke) and misfiring on cylinder #3. Based on my research, this is an issue Ford knows about due to it being a defect in the design, yet I'm being told I have to pay to replace the engine. We replaced the spark plugs, coils, and nothing helped. We took it to a mechanic and were told we need an entire engine replacement and it won't be covered by Ford.

I got an engine temperature warning, then I noticed the coolant reservoir was empty. I filled it back up and everything went back to normal. I was driving down the interstate when the check engine light came on. I had a few misfires and was able to make it back to a dealership, who then diagnosed the vehicle and said it coolant intrusion due to an engine block leak. Charging over $9000 in repairs

I have a 2015 Ford Fusion Ecoboost t back in 2019 took it to Ford for regular maintenance and they told me it had a recall for another engine (coolant intrusion) at that time I had no problem with my car so needless to say I was shocked . Now 2026 August 15 my car shuts down coolant temperature warning comes on , I pulled over had a mechanic look at it and he tells me the head gasket is no good coolant intrusion This is a safety issue and cars could catch on fire Called Ford they said nothing they can do . All I can say is shame on Ford they need to do the right thing and fix these Safety issues.

We purchased a used car for my son to use in college. While driving on the hwy, the car started loosing power and just died on the side of the road. He was towed towed to a Ford dealer and was told he was leaking coolant into cylinder #4, which is a KNOWN PROBLEM AT FORD and an active recall for model years 2016-2018. Our 2015 has the identical failure mode and is not covered in the recall!! We were told $9000 to replace the engine block ... It only has 84,000 miles on it!!!!

I changed my battery at 105,000 miles with everything working fine electronically for my 2015 Fusion. Been a great car up to this issue. After installing the correct battery, the power steering turned off and hasn't come back on. Took to dealership, they replaced a connection cable at their suggestion and still were unable to reset the power steering. That's where it should have ended tho. They want me to further come back to run more tests??? Something seems very defective to me and from social media reports of other Fusion owners and the nhtsa investigations, a power steering recall should be warranted. I have been a car owner for 40 years and never experienced this inconvenience. I think Ford is getting away with inferior electronics and passing the expense back to the consumer. It should be an easy fix but not one at $4000 (getting a new steering rack) just to change a battery?? :-( Please help!

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel became difficult to turn to the left or the right. The contact stated that the ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the electrical rack and pinion needed to be replaced and recalibrated. The contact stated that after his wife had shifted into reverse and depressed the accelerator pedal, there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle and the steering wheel failed to turn to the right or the left. The contact stated that his wife turned off and restarted the vehicle and the power steering functionality had not returned. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the power steering gears, rack, and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. My transmission was serviced under the cable bushing recall - since then the main complaint is the grinding, loss of power, losing gears etc. the rear camera also fails to function over half of the time. this has been validated by fletcher car care. they said the transmission is now faulty. i have seen this issue repeated throughout the other safety reports on your website. this is an overarching issue that should've been addressed by the manufacturer. there were no warning lamps messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. this car is a safety hazard and it is negligence to allow the issue to persist. the problem was reproduced by the shop, fletcher car care - Fletcher Car Care is an auto repair shop located at 38 Heritage Park Dr, Fletcher, NC 28732 - the issues i believe began when the cable bushing began changing the linkage between the shifter and transmission around march. this was when i started having issues with the rear camera - the rear camera at times is full of artifacts and interference because i believe it is in a intermediate (out of full engagement position)

The transmission lost Park function, shifter position indicates the vehicle is in park. However, the indicator on the instrument panel indicates the vehicle is in drive. This happened after driving the car, and when I parked it. This condition allowed the ignition key to be removed with no instrument panel warning message or warning chime while exiting the vehicle indicating the vehicle is not secured in park. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury or crash. I searched the problem online and found the problem was related a bushing in the end of the transmission selection cable. I was able to find the transmission cable. Upon close inspection, the cable was separated from the selection lever on the transmission. The end of the cable was missing the bushing. There was a safety recall in 2018, 18S20 that dealt with this problem. I had a replacement installed back in 2018. Now I am actually experiencing what the recall was supposed to correct/prevent. Is this recall still in effect? If not, can a new one be issued. I called a dealership, but they stated that the recall had expired.

The problem is the rear backup camera and I know Ford has recently issued recalls for certain models due to the camera being broken. The problem is that this is a 2015 model fusion and is being excluded from that recall but is having the exact same problems stated. It includes the camera not working, black lines appearing across the screen, or just flickering on and off. I think Ford should expand their rear camera problem to more years because it doesn’t stop at 2016 models.

I've had recurring issues of brake failure. Thankfully, none of the issues have resulted in fatality, injury or major damage. My most recent issue happened as I was leaving my job. I depressed the brake to put the car in drive and the brake went down almost to the floor. I hesitantly drove the car to an auto shop near my home and was able to have the brakes serviced. I have included that invoice (10.02.24) along with some invoices from previous issues (09.07.17) (04.12.18). There have been recalls made concerning the break line in Ford Fusions that were released around the same time as mine (Recall #23S12). I question if, although my vin number does not show in the recall search, my car should have been included within this recall. I'm concerned and I would like to know if I have any options toward reimbursement for these repairs and/or a complimentary inspection to make sure there is indeed no safety issue that is connected Recall 23S12 or any other Ford brake line recall. Please review this information and follow up at your earliest convenience. Thanks

The rear camera does not function properly on my 2015 Ford Fusion. When I try to use it, it either turns into a black screen or the message reads that "rear camera is unavailable", which has almost caused me to collide with another vehicle several times as I was trying to back up. I understand that there is a national recall for Ford Fusion vehicles from 2018 on for exactly the same reason. However, even though my Ford Fusion is a 2015, it demonstrates the same problem as the newer models listed in the recall. I would like to have my camera replaced (at no charge) as well, since I am dealing with the same safety hazard as the models listed in the national recall. Thank you very much for your understanding.

I have a 2015 ford fusion with around 37000miles. But the sealing between air bag and passenger side dashboard are broken. I'm afraid that the air bag might pumped out under normal condition if the cracks are too big. I think it could be quality issue. It could be very dangerous and put our lives at risk. Besides that, there was no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I called Ford customer service, they said that it could be their quality problem. However, they won't take the responsibility because they don't have recall for that issue. I think it put mine and my family's lives at risk, and I do need to bring attention.

Over the course of 3 weeks I started to notice a strong smell of gasoline after filling my fuel tank that lasted for about the first quarter of the tank. I did look around the car and under it to see if I could observe a leak, but saw nothing upon visual inspection. After about 3 weeks I observed a very strong smell of gasoline when I walked out to the car in the morning and observed gasoline on the rim of the passenger side tire as well as on the ground by the tire. At that point I looked up recalls on the 2015 fusion and did find one on the fuel system but was advised that it is not active on my vin. I took my car to a local shop where they found that both fuel senders were wet and leaking thus causing the fuel leak.

In July 2021 I had the CPV replaced because the purge valve was stuck open. Now, less than 2 years later, 45,000 miles later, I am once again having the same issue. Code P1450. Unable to bleed up fuel tank. Just like last time. My vehicle check engine light is on and after I get gas my car starts sputters and does not want to start.

To keep it short. This is 1 of 3 Ford vehicles that I had to pay to have every lug nut replaced! They are 'swollen' is the term used. Prior to this, I replaced 1 lug in my 45 year driving history and that was because it broke off. I have called Ford and Lincoln and they are aware of the problem but say there is not program in place for a resolution. My complaint was escalated I was told. Hahaha. Their hand needs to be forced. They are not going to willingly do the right thing going forward nor address refunds! They have 'escalated' all 3 of my issues. I would imagine that there is a fourth coming at some point when my daughters car needs to go into the shop. $250+ a car is a joke and an expense nobody needs. Please help. Took vehicle to Ford dealership for routine maintenance 5 June 2024. At end of servicing, service advisor reviewed findings of the multi-point inspection with me (attached), advising all wheel lug nuts (20) on the vehicle were "swollen" and needed to be replaced; failure to do so will result in being unable to remove any wheel in the event of an emergency, i.e., flat tire, as the provided 19" lug nut wrench ( or any substitute 19" socket will not fit). Quoted price of $337.60 for nuts ($447.52 incl labor). I passed. Ordered one piece chrome lug nuts (20) for $40, and a $45 half size socket set (19.5mm) online and changed them myself. Research on the issue reveals Ford is aware of this safety defect of two piece swelling lug nuts, yet refuses to recall affected vehicle or remedy the safety issue. All affected vehicles need to be recalled and corrected by Ford immediately, our lives/safety is at risk with this issue.

Took the car in to have a tire replaced and was told the swollen lug nuts prevent them from removing the tire. I had issues with lug nuts on another wheel but was able to get them off and replaced them. I shouldn't have to be paying $27 for lug nuts that are defective.

Took my car to the dealership for an oil change and tire rotation. The technician told me they cannot get the tires off to rotate them because the tire lug nuts were swollen. He asked me if I wanted to replace them. I agreed after he said that if I were to get a flat tire it would be hard to get it off to fix it. Basically, this issue became a safety one. I never had an issue with swollen lug nuts with previous cars I had own. Thank you for gathering these type of issues.

The SERVICE ENGINE SOON icon appeared. Three days after, I went to Auto Zone to try to find the issue and the issue was unknown. The day after, the SAFETY ALERT icon appeared and immediately after, the message TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK appeared. The 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid slowed its acceleration to under 20 mph and upward to 35 mph and returned to under 20 mph. Search with the vehicle's VIN number on NHTSA website, shows that VEHICLE MAY POSSIBLY HAVE A DAMAGED/BROKEN/MISSING TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING. Safety of others put at risk because when vehicle acceleration and deceleration process slowed the vehicle into incoming traffic and creating a problem in the flow of traffic. Cannot get vehicle to a dealer for inspection.

The car recently misfired 3 times. I took into get oil change and have the misfire checked into. The misfires started 11/4/21. Car would run rough and then stall out. It would sit for a minute or two and start and run fine. There were no check engine lights or gage to show the car was running hot. I never dreamed it was a cracked cylinder. The Dealer performed EEC test diagnosis and found previous misfies in cylinder 1 in mode 6 of PCM. Found coolant level low, pressure tested cooling system and found that cylinder 1 with coolant intrusion. Short block replacement. I see online that there have been recalls on 2013 -2014 Ford Fusion and other 2013-2015 vehicles for this exact problem of a lack of coolant circulation causing an engine to overheat resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. In these models dealers were installing a coolant level sensor with supporting hardware and software at not charge to customer. Ford dealer is charging me $5,000 for short block replacement, which I feel is a defect of the Ford Engine Design. I purchased by car in Nov. 2014 so it only makes sense that this engine had the 2014 design problem. I declined repairs at that moment, to investigate the problem and asked for my car. The dealer stated they had to put my car back together so it would be about 20 mins. When I got the car back it seems to be running normal like when I took it in, but down the road about 3 miles the car started to sputter and stalled. After sitting a few minutes with flasher on in traffic on a major road, the car would start up and wouldn't go over 15 mph and continued to stall. I called dealer and they gave me the number to the towing company they use. The car was towed back to dealership. The Ford dealer is charging me $5,000 for short block replacement. They did file a complaint with Ford Motor Co. Customer Relationship Center and they stated the dealer had opened a case by no programs in place for assistance. The dealer is telling the consumer this occurred due to a Ford design flaw. If this is a Ford design flaw this should be a recalled item.

When it gets warm outside, the seatbelt on the driver's side freezes in the resting position, so I cannot buckle up before I drive. It takes a while before I can use the buckle. This means I either drive unsafely to a meeting or wait for the inside of the car to cool down enough to buckle up to drive. I have let Ford know (case number: CXH-02550071-N4S4M4).

Previously, about 5-6 times the car experienced sputtering and then stalling shortly after a warm engine restart. After 2 tries, the car would continue running. No check engine. No codes stored. Final time (before a scheduled shop visit) it stalled on a busy 4-lane road at rush hour and would not restart. Wife managed to manuever into the middle turn lane. Would not restart. Car displayed (unhelpfully) to check the owners manual. Towed to Firestone who found bad spark plugs (in particular cylinder 3) showing coolant leakage. Firestone seemed to be aware of the systemic issues (said replacing plugs was not solving the root problem, but they don't do engine replacements. Estimated that the car might run correctly for maybe a year. Car stalled again 3 days later). Coolant level was low. My experience seems similar to many others (ie., 2013-19 engine coolant leak). Car at dealership.

THEN, 2 WEEKS LATER GOT DASHBOARD LIGHT AGAIN, SAME CODE P0302. MECHANIC (PRIVATE)REPLACED PERCEIVED FAULTY IGNITION COIL AS PREVIOUS. ON 9.23 .19 CAR STARTED,. CAR RUNS ROUGH, ALMOST STALLS DASHBOARD LIGHTS AGAIN. THIS TIME WE TAKE IT TO ROYAL OAK FORD SERVICE DEPT. THEY GET P0302 AND ADVISE US TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS. $307.29 CHARGE. UPON INSPECTION OF SPARK PLUGS I NOTE ALL PLUGS ARE HEAVILY COATED IN CARBON. I CHECK THE TAILPIPE AND THE INSIDE IS ALSO HEAVILY CARBON COATED. SHORTLY AFTER I FIND INFORMATION THAT MOST DIRECT INJECT ENGINES HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT WAS NOT HARD INFO TO FIND. BECAUSE OF DIRECT INJECTION THE VALVES DO NOT RECEIVE THE BENEFIT OF DETERGENT GASOLINES AND BECOME HEAVILY COATED IN CARBON. THIS IS AN OVERSIMPLIFIED EXPLANATION OF WHAT IS OCCURRING., BUT MAKES THE POINT. I CONFIRM FINDINGS WITH AND SHOW PLUGS TO, MY MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMS ;THAT THESE DIRECT INJECT ENGINES HAVE AN ISSUE THE MANUFACTURERS CAN'T OR HAVEN'T CORRECTED, WHICH RESULTS IN THE CONDITION MY SPARK PLUGS WERE FOUND IN. I FOUND NOTSB'S ON THE SUBJECT. MECHANIC RECOMMENDS A GDI SERVICE, WHICH INCLUDES PULLING ALL VALVES AND CLEANING THEM. HE ALSO RECOMMENDS ANYONE WITH A DI ENGINE TO DO THIS AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR TO KEEP VEHICLE RUNNING SMOOTHLY AND TO GET MAXIMUM LIFE OUT OF THE PLUGS. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO START, PUMPING THE ACCELERATOR HELPS BUT THE ENGINE WILL STALL SUDDENLY WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THE FILL UP. ON TWO OCCASIONS I HAVE LOST POWER WHEN DRIVING ON A MAJOR STREET WITH 1/4-1/2 TANK OF FUEL. THIS STALL IS PRECEEDED BY A LOUD, DISONATE NOISE FROM THE FUEL FILLER. MY DRIVER'S SIDE BLADE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF MY VIEW..I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP IN A RAIN/SNOW TO PROVE TO THEM THERE WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG!! A MECHANIC CAME OUT TO LOOK AT IT AND FINALLY DECIDED IT WAS THE WIPER MOTOR. THEY ORDERED ME ONE. IT CAME IN THE NEXT DAY. I GOT AN APPOINTMENT FROM AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIR FOR SAME DAY. WHEN I ARRIVED THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE VERY BUSY AND WOULDN'T GET THE CARS FIXED THAT WAS ALREADY. IT WAS FIXED THAT AFTERNOON. Knocking sounds started happening when turning steering wheel. Confirmed by independent mechanic and Rodman Ford dealership to need power steering rack/electric motor. Recall for this problem on other 2015 Ford fusions but my VIN is not included. I have been told this is a serious safety issue and it should be covered.

My car has approximately 97,000 miles on it. For the last 6 months, I've been getting alerts on my dashboard ("Service Advance Trak", "Hill Start Not Available", and one or two others). This happens at slow speeds and fast also when turning. When these alerts start, I lose power steering. I've also noticed that when I apply brakes at slow speeds, the ABS engages for a few seconds. I was told by the dealer that I needed a new battery but that was not the issue. I was driving with my kids in the car and it happen mid driving on the highway. I almost got into a serious accident but was able to gain control in enough time to steer out the way. This is a very dangerous issue and I see that it has been recalled but only on vehicles up North due to possible salt and water erosion with the snow. Now the dealership is suggesting to replace it costing 1800. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I have been having issues with the vehicle where it will stall. This even happened when I was driving on the NJ turnpike, it stalled while driving and I had to pull over (thankfully I could) to restart the vehicle. It took the dealer 3 weeks to finally figure out the issue and tracked it down to a bad BCM (Body Control Module). I researched this further and found some interesting information. A significant number of 2015 Fusion owners report similar electrical glitches, with some experiencing a complete loss of power to multiple systems, including the center console, AC, and power windows. Diagnostics have identified water intrusion and corrosion in specific connectors, such as C134 near the front bumper, as a root cause, which can be resolved by cleaning and applying electric grease. However, a failing BCM itself is a common diagnosis, especially when multiple systems fail simultaneously and no other obvious cause is found. Replacing the BCM is a known solution, but it requires programming with the vehicle's specific as-built information and PATS key programming to function correctly; a new OEM BCM typically costs around $500. The BCM must be programmed using specialized diagnostic tools like Ford IDS software or equivalent, and the process includes steps like parameter reset, CEI configuration, and battery monitor sensor reset. While some owners have successfully bypassed the BCM using an external relay for specific functions like parking lights, this is a complex workaround and not a standard fix for a failing BCM. Persistent issues, especially those that recur after resets or component replacements, often point to a defective BCM, though other factors like a faulty wiring harness or a bad ground connection should also be ruled out. Overheated warning light flashed then went off when car was cooled down for 45 mins and then started right up and no warning light was ever seen again to come on then drove car 30 miles next morn car wouldn't start.checked engine coolant and it was all gone no visible leak.. no warning light Refilled coolant car tried to start and put out white smoke from tailpipe. Car started barely and was rough running again no warning light showing drove car to mechanic and he said car engine was blown .. so looked on different forums and found that the Ford fusion and Ford escape motors the 1.5 liter was a real lemon and the overheat light warning of low coolant or overheating of engine has had problems for several years on these 2 vehicles that had the 1.5 engine in them .. you can no longer buy the 1.5 because they were so terrible that they quit making them is what I'm being told .. I would like this engine to be recalled for all the problems it has given thousands of people

My backup camera has started to glitch like the other 2015 fords that are in recall. The screen will get green lines through it, go black, flip horizontal/vertical, flash on and off, it creates more of a distraction than assistance and makes it very hard to back in/out of tight spaces. I have not taken it to the dealership. Right before the other recall was released I called the dealership and told me I’d have to get a whole new camera installed and pay out of pocket. The transmission shift bushing fell off and my gear shift is stuck in park while the transmission indicator is registering as neutral. This was a recall for many Ford Fusion models but apparently not mine, although it is certainly the same issue the other models were experiencing. The bushing lubricant/bushing appears to have worn down over time resulting in this issue.

1. The Ford dealership in Glendale, CA refused to do the brake pedal recall, but it shows as complete. The car was bought at this dealership and never had work done to the brake pedal. (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 23V162000). 2. The car burns oil way quicker than it indicates. This has happened twice to me now where I had to replace the entire engine because I completely ran out of oil before I was due for a change. I check my oil religiously after that because there are no signs of leakage. I checked my oil [XXX] after having my oil changed on [XXX] and its bone dry I have only driven under 3000 miles. Spotted another puddle under the car. Took to local shop & told left front caliper is leaking and both front calipers need to be replaced. Also told the cooling line to turbo is leaking & needs to get repaired. Having vehicle towed to dealer as unsafe to drive. When I drove vehicle back from shop, low brake fluid light finally came on. I have also had both brakes lines replaced twice in the last 5 years & transmission replaced. Believe this car may be a lemon.

TURNING OFF AND ON THE CAR DOES NOT RESET IT... IT TAKES REPEAT EFFORT AND SEVERAL MINUTES (ONCE OVER 10 MINUTES) TO BE ABLE TO START UP. My vehicle will not turn on after refueling, but there are no signs of visible damage. The check engine light remains illuminated, and the code read for the O2 sensors. I am not sure what part or components, but I am experiencing a smell of some kind that is making me sick. As in, nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, headaches and migraines. This only happens when I am in the vehicle and only at certain times throughout the day. I've been vacationing for several months now and this is a reoccurring problem. When I am driving the smell is trying to put me to sleep and I have to pullover on the interstate to sleep and I have been putting the windows down to try to stop the reactions I am having. But, the smell continues even when the engine is not running. That is the best way I can explain the experience that I am having. Thank you so much and have an absolutely amazing day.

WHILE DRIVING, MY VEHICLE OVERHEATED. CHECKED COOLANT LEVEL, AND IT WAS LESS THAN HALF FULL. I REFILLED COOLANT TO RECOMMENDED LEVEL, AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE. TWO WEEKS LATER, IT OVERHEATED AGAIN, AND MY COOLANT WAS LOW AGAIN. REFILLED AND MONITORED FOR LEAKS. NO LEAKS. THEN VEHICLE BEGAN MISFIRING. DIAGNOSED WITH CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE. REPLACED SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS. STILL MISFIRING. REDIAGNOSED WITH CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE. THEN IT JUST DIED. WOULD NOT START. ACTED AS THOUGH IT WAS FLOODING. DIAGNOSED WITH NO ADDITIONAL ISSUES BY DEALERSHIP. THEN DISCOVERED TSB FOR A BOLT THAT WAS BACKING OUT OF THE INTERCOOLER AND INTO THE MANIFOLD. THIS ISSUE WAS ALLOWING COOLANT TO FLOOD THE MANIFOLD AND CAUSE MISFIRING. GOT THAT FIXED AS WELL AS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND TURBO UNIT FOR THE CAR WHICH WERE DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THE COOLANT ISSUE. $5,000 IN REPAIRS FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT COULD HAVE LEFT MY FAMILY AND I STRANDED IN THE DESERT HEAT WITHOUT A/C OR IN THE SUB-ZERO SNOWY MOUNTAINS WITHOUT HEAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EVEN START. THE FORD DEALER REPLACED IT ON 11/14/2019 AND OFFERED TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT AT THE SAME TIME, BECAUSE IT IS EXPENSIVE TO TAKE THE FRONT BUMPER OFF TO DO THE JOB ($210 LABOR PLUS $35 FOR THE LIGHT AND $29 FOR ADD'L SHOP SUPPLIES.). At approximately 80,000 miles, the abs censor came on, along with three other lights, one of which is traction control. The brakes begin acting out of control and power steering goes out. Mechanic came to look at it and told me that he’s seen a lot of the same problems with Ford vehicles, specifically fusions and fiestas. He told me it’s an ABS sensor in the electrical harness.

ON 10/7/2019 I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO FORT MILL FORD (SC) FOR A TIRE CHANGE AND REGULAR SERVICE. WHEN I CAME TO PICK IT UP ON 10/10/2019, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. UPON ADVISING MY TECH BRITTANY OF THE ISSUE, THEY SENT OUT A TECH TO JUMP START THE CAR THAT WAS JUST SERVICED. WHEN THE CAR WAS JUMP STARTED, AN ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS AT 62000 MILES. I WENT BACK TO MY ADVISER BRITTANY AGAIN AND SHE STATED THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND THAT FORD ACTIVATES THOSE WHEN SEASONS CHANGE AND IS PART OF THEIR SOFTWARE. SHE INSISTED THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK WITH THE CAR AND REFERENCED THE INSPECTION LIST I WAS GIVEN FOR MY 2015 FORD FUSION SE. NOT THREE WEEKS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT FROM BEING CONSTANTLY ON, TO FLASHING. THIS ALSO CAUSED AN INTENSE WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AND A STRONG GAS PRESENCE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN TWICE FOR A CAM POSITION SENSOR. THE FIRST TIME THE PART TOTALLY FAILED AND LEFT US ON THE ROAD SIDE ON A VERY DANGEROUS STRETCH OF HWY 101 AND WAS REPLACED. 1708 MILES LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE CODE WAS P0340 AGAIN. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED THROUGH A DEALER ROAD TEST AND WE WERE CHARGED $190.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS. THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE OCCURRED, WE HAD BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR A SAFETY RECALL. WHEN WE PICKED THE CAR UP, THIS WAS THE FIRST INSTANCE OF THE FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT. THIS HAS CAUSED US GRAVE CONCERN. MY WIFE HAS MS AND CAN'T BE LEFT ON THE ROADSIDE. THE 2015 FUSION HAD A SURGE AND THE CAR JERKED FORWARD. MY WIFE SAID THAT HAPPENED TO HER BEFORE. WHEN IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN THE CAR DRIVING IT WE BOTH LOOKED AT EACH OTHER. AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR SOME TIME. PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE. AFTER REVERSING OUT OF SPOT, ETC. AND PUT THE CAR INTO "L"; UPON MOVING FORWARD, THE ENGINE STARTS RACING AND LURCHES UNCONTROLLABLY FORWARD. ALMOST LIKE THE CAR IS ENGINE BRAKING DOWN A LARGE HILL, BUT NO HILL AND IS ACCELERATING WITHOUT APPLYING BRAKES. THIS IS THE PLUG-IN HYBRID MODEL. THERE IS NO INCLINE WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

Check engine light, Code P0303. #3 cylinder misfire. Coolant leaking into cylinders 2 & 3 due to faulty casting of the short block. This was a known defect of 2015 Ford Fusion 1.5 liter EcoBoost engine by Ford Motor Co. No recall was issued. I was not notified of this defect until it happened. Ford covered repairs for some vehicles but not mine stating I was not within the required timeframe. I had to pay $7200.00 to repair this problem. I only had 80,000 miles on the car. I feel a recall should have been issued on all these cars since Ford knew about the defect. Please look into this and require Ford to issue a recall. Thank you.

WHILE DRIVING ON HWY 27A AT 65 MPH [XXX] REACHED UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN, BUMPING THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS BUMP CAUSED THE MOTOR TO CUT OFF. 235/45R18, the tires wander on grooved highways (groove wander). They throw the car left and right. This is a safety concern as it creates dangerous instability. Looks like the tire tread is incompatible with some road surfaces (grooved highways) and creates a safety hazard (car violently swerving at highway speeds). Wheel balancing and alignment was done to eliminate these as potential contributors. The store refuses to accept the tires for a return.

IN APRIL 2017, THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE SUDDENLY FAILED REQUIRING BOTH FRONT TIRES TO BE REPLACED. IN AUGUST 2017, THE NEW FRONT RIGHT GOODYEAR EAGLE LS TIRE DEVELOPED BBBLES ON THE SIDE WALL AND SUDDENLY FAILED NECESSITATING ANOTHER REPLACEMENT. PLEASE NOTE THAT TIRE FAILED AT 2,280 MILES, NOW BOTH GOODYEAR EAGLE LS TIRES ARE BALD AT THE SHOULDERS JUST SIX MONTHS LATER. I CONTACTED GOODYEAR WHO OFFERED US A MERE $$47.95 FOR ONE FAILED TIRE AND $32.88 FOR THE OTHER WHEN THESE TIRES COST US $198/PER TIRE. GOODYEAR SUPPOSEDLY WARRANTS THEM FOR SIX YEARS. CUSTOMER SUPPORT WAS HOSTILE. BECAUSE I BE,I EVE THESE TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE, I WANTED FOUR NEW TIRES. GOODYEAR SAID IF THEY DID ANYTHING I'D BE FORCED TO TAKE MORE GOODYEAR TIRES. I PAID FOR FOUR NEW MICHELIN TIRES TO PROTECT MY FAMILY. WE ONLY HAVE 28,138 MILES ON THIS CAR BUT HAVE HAD TO REPLACE SIX GOODYEAR EAGLE LS TIRES FOR SUDDEN FAILURE. WHY ON EARTH HAVEN'T THEY BEEN RECALLED.

Within in the past year I have had to have my entire rear brake system repaired and they keep stating that the emergency park brake is malfunctioning and getting stuck. I have had those parts replaced and now I being told again that the same problem is occurring. There has to be an issue with the brake system that keeps causing this to happen after repairs have been made.

I have taken my car to the shop multiple times for brake issue. Brakes smoking and calibers will not release on rear driver side brakes. I took my car to Marmet Tire paid 380 they said it was was brakes and calibers two weeks later same issue I paid 280 for actuator since problem still not fixed. Next I took to Todd Judy Ford they refused to fix the said Marmet tire needs to fix since they had it first. I took it Ba k to Marmet tire they said I needed a brake hose which they replaced and two days later while me any son was driving on [XXX] the brake pedal went to floor while driving so then Marmet tire contacted Todd Judy Ford Patrick street Charleston WV I took the car there and spent 280 for a brake flush two days later brakes grinding and overheating. Called ford corporation they told me to take back to Ford Patrick Street so I called for appointment advised I need an appointment so I can contact ford corporation for a case number and nobody will call me back just emails for over a week saying someone will be contacting me. My Ford Fusion hybrid is no longer safe to drive. I keep it parked in front of my work. I’ve had 2 Mechanics I know personally look at it and they both say the break line is cracked and is spraying out break fluid. I was driving in a stormy day and all of the sudden the break light, traction control light, slippery roads light, abs light, and advance service tech appeared. All at once I knew to drive slow and safe since I had no traction control. I restarted my car and all the lights disappeared. Than as I’m driving the next day, Low break fluid was on the screen but for only a second. And it did that every time I would hit the break. So I bought break fluid and filled it up. I pressed on the breaks many times and turned the wheel to the left so I can look in the wheel well I noticed the leak and immediately knew I needed to get it serviced. I unfortunately don’t have the money and it is gonna remain in front of my work till I can figure out what to do. I looked online to find solutions and found some recalls but when I looked up my vin it didn’t show up for my car. I can attach the recalls I found that look like they are for this issue. The power steer system went out on my car with no warning , the catalytic converter is going out . This car have caused me more problems than a little. The dealership are full so you can’t get any recall done. This is a bad car and should be off the lots. I can’t get reimbursed for no work I put into this car because I didn’t take it to the dealership. This is unfair to me I work very hard for my money. This is about the third complaint I have sent and no one has responded. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FORDS.

This car will randomly shut off while driving at any speed on hot days. The display will say "Transmission not in Park" then the instrument cluster will go dark and the engine shuts off. There is no check engine light and there are no ODB codes presented. I have to wait some amount of time, which varies, before it will turn on again. It has also not turned on from sitting for more than eight hours on two hot days. This is very much a safety issue and searching the Internet I find it is not uncommon with Ford Fusion and Escape vehicles with no discernible solution being presented. My auto shop has looked at the vehicle and replaced the fuel flow sensor but it did not fix the issue. I have replaced the key ignition switch and immobilizer ring and pulled every fuse and cleaned the contacts with no resolution.

AFTER MERGING AND ACCELERATING ONTO THE FREEWAY, OVER TO THE FAR LEFT LANE, "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING CAME UP AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER (WHAT HAWAII CONSIDERS A SHOULDER, STILL VERY DANGEROUS) THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, ONLY BEEP MULTIPLE TIMES AND DISPLAY THE SAME MESSAGE. AFTER 5 MIN ON PHONE TRYING TO GET FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, THE LOCAL HIGHWAY PATROL TOW TRUCK SHOWED UP. BEFORE I ALLOWED HIM TO TOW THE VEHICLE I TRIED TO START IT AND WAS SUCCESSFUL.

My car has approximately 110,000 miles on it. For the last 6 months, I've been getting alerts on my dashboard ("Service Advance Trak", "Hill Start Not Available", and one or two others). This happens at slow speeds and when turning. When these alerts start, I lose power steering. I've also noticed that when I apply brakes at slow speeds, the ABS engages for a few seconds. I was told by the dealer that it was the engine control module. I had it replaced and reprogrammed. However, the alerts and loss of power steering still happens though not as much.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET MY CAR HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER, WITH MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS AND ALARMS GOING OFF. THERE WAS NO WARNING OF THIS FAILURE PRIOR AS THE CAR WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOSS OF POWER WAS A LOSS OF STEERING AND A LOSS OF POWER ASSIST BRAKING, WHICH RESULTED IN THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. ONCE IN PARK IT WOULD NOT ALLOW CHANGING GEARS. A TOW TRUCK REQUIRED THE USE OF TIRE DOLLY'S TO LOAD THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A CAUSE, AND USED THE ANALOGY THAT THE CAR HAD AN "ELECTRICAL SEIZURE," WHICH I INTERPRET AS A CATASTROPHIC ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. The throttle body failed. Car went into limp mode. I used a code reader to investigate. Code was P211, throttle. Bought a throttle body at Ford dealer, $100.84 total parts with tax and throttle body and gasket. Replaced part and it runs fine so far. I was lucky to have been close to home when it happened. I did not find any recalls for this make model and year but throttle bodies commonly fail on Fords. It happened on July 31, 2021. Car had about 89,500 miles. Bought the car new from Bill Utter Ford in Denton, Texas in 2015.

ONCE BEFORE AND ONCE AFTER THE RECALL. THERE WAS NOT CHANGE THE FIRST TIME AND AFTER THE SECOND TIME THE PROBLEM WAS REDUCED IN SEVERITY AND FREQUENCY BUT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. MY VEHICLE MAKES A NOISE WHILE DRIVING AND THIS NOISE COMES FROM THE GAS TANK. IT IS LIKE A HONK SOUND. TO STOP THE SOUND, I HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, OPEN THE GAS TANK AND LET THE AIR/PRESSURE INSIDE THE GAS THANK OUT. THE SMELL IS SOME KIND OF BURNT ENGINE OR WIRE. AFTER I HAVE LET THE AIR/PRESSURE OUT, ENGINE WARNING LIGHT TURNS ON FOR FEW HOURS AND GOES OFF. THERE ARE LOTS OF CUSTOMERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE AND REPORTED THIS ISSUE. INFORMED THIS ISSUE TO FORD AND THEY ASKED ME TO GET DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON THE VEHICLE AND CALL THEM BACK. I DID GET THE DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON THE VEHICLE, TECHNICIAN SAID THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND HE EXPLAINED ME SOMETHING ABOUT THE PRESSURE WHICH I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND. SO I CALLED FORD BACK AND INFORMED THEM THAT THIS IS THE ISSUE AND ASKED THEM TO HELP ME WITH IT. THEY SAID THEY CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY RECALL PROGRAM OR ANY REBATE PROGRAM ACTIVE BASED ON THE GIVEN MILEAGE. UPON RETURNING FROM A LONG TRIP AND APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES FROM HOME, THE STEERING WHEEL OF THE CAR BEGAN TO VIBRATE HEAVILY AND AS I TURNED A CORNER, THE DASHBOARD LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE AND I LOST MY POWER STEERING. THE INFO ON THE DASHBOARD INFORMED ME THE VEHICLE HAD LOST THE POWER STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL AND I WAS TO SEEK SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. BY DRIVING SLOWLY, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME STEERING MANUALLY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY AND THEY ARRANGED TO TOW THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. TWO DAYS LATER I WAS CONTACTED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED THE STEERING GEAR HAD FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. BECAUSE OF THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THIS DEFECT AND THE FACT THAT I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE CAR NEW ON 6/15/15, I REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BUT WAS TOLD FORD WOULD NOT DO THAT. I CONTACTED FORD CORP. AND MY CASE WAS TURNED OVER TO THE REGIONAL MGR. OF THIS AREA AND HE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT BE BOUGHT BACK BUT WOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. AS COMPENSATION MY NEW CAR WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 5 YEARS. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AND MYSELF HAD THIS STEERING FAILURE HAD HAPPENED AT THE HIGHWAY SPEEDS WE HAD JUST BEEN TRAVELING AND AM NOW NERVOUS ABOUT THE OVERALL QUALITY OF THIS VEHICLE. MY 2015 FUSION SE GEAR WILL NOT SHIFT. IT IS STUCK AND REVERSE. TRIED TO SHIFT GEARS AND NOW THAT MY CAR IS NOT IN PARK ENGINE WILL NOT TURN ON. I JUST GOT MY CAR TWO MONTHS AGO. A RELATIVE ALSO HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE SHIFT CABLE.

THE POWER STEERING, BRAKING, LIGHTING AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS REMAIN FULLY FUNCTIONAL SO YOU HAVE NO CLEAR CLUE ON WHAT IS OCCURRING, HOWEVER YOU KNOW THE VEHICLE NO LONGER REMAINS OPERATIONAL AND YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

I WAS DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON I-75 ALMOST TO PERRYSBURG IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. MY CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE, BUT ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH WENT BLACK AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL I WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE. THERE WAS A TRUCK NEXT TO ME IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE, I WAITED FOR IT TO PASS AND THEN GOT OVER. I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK. I THEN WAITED A COUPLE MINUTES AND RESTARTED MY CAR.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the taillights failed to turn off as designed. The contact had to disconnect the battery for the taillights to be turned off. Additionally, the Hill Assist warning light was illuminated after reconnecting the battery. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that there was no recall coverage on the vehicle and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 114,352.

I HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY 2015 FORD FUSION. I noticed the coolant level keeps getting low. There was a large amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust. It sounds like water in the dash. Now the car is barely drivable. No warning lights have come on.

Had to have my transmission replaced due to harsh shifting into 2nd & 3rd gear while driving, as well as when you slow down it would down shift in those two gears. Had the transmission replaced, and not even a week later after they also updated the ECU for the transmission, now this transmission that was put in is doing the exact same thing. Now a few weeks later my trunk is randomly opening while I'm driving or while I'm at work, ECT.

Being without a back up camera leaves a blind spot where you can’t see small children or pets that are directly behind my car. My 2015 Fusion backup camera has been intermittent or non-working for several years. I took it to the dealer who said it would cost $600 to repair, so I have not repaired it. Now I see that they have recalled 2015-2017 Mustangs for the same reason and wonder if my Fusion has the same defect that the Mustangs do.

My car has been losing power and randomly stalling for a while now. Today as I was driving it was happening more and then suddenly my brake pedal became hard as a rock, and the hill assist warning came up. It keeps stalling and will not remain running for longer than 2-3 minutes of being on. This almost caused me to ram several cars due to not being able to stop quickly enough. No lights came on other than check engine and it has not been inspected as this has only happened today. However the stalling of the car has been going on for about 3 months and I’ve been very pregnant and unable to have it looked at. The loss of power in the car happens and sometimes downshift’s extremely hard causing a loud jerk noise from the underside of the vehicle. Once turned off and turned back on it goes right back to normal until it decides to do it again. It can happen a couple of times or it can happen 100 times within a 5 mile period and I never know when it’s going to happen until it’s actually doing it. Extremely dangerous and I’ve seen several 2015 owners posting about issues of the 2015 brake system/bumper etc. I’ve seen recall talk but this site shows no recalls, please get this issue recalled asap!

I RENTED A FORD FUSION IN PITTSBURG FOR 10 DAYS. IT HAD ELECTRIC SEATS THAT WERE VERY DIFFICULT TO POSITION TO A COMFORTABLE POSITION. I AM 62 YEARS OLD AND HAVE TRAVELLED EXTENSIVELY FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS, SO I AM USED TO RENTALS AND AIR TRAVEL RISKS. FROM THE 2ND DAY IN THE FUSIONS, I WAS FEELING A PAIN IN MY RIGHT LEG ( CALF). WHEN I RETURNED HOME IN NH 10 DAYS LATER, I WENT TO SEE MY DOCTOR WHO SENT ME FOR AN ULTRASOUND WHICH FOUND THE INCIDENCE OF THE DVT. I AM UNDER TREATMENT NOW AND AM OK, BUT AM CONCERNED THAT THE ERGONOMICS OF SOME VEHICLES MAY BE CONTRIBUTORY TO CERTAIN ILLNESS FOR HUMANS. WANTED TO REPORT SO THE INCIDENCE OF DVT TO SPECIFIC MODELS WITH ELECTRICS SEATS COULD BE TRACKED DOWN AND INCLUDED IN FUTURE SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS. While driving on a level flat road at approximately 25 MPH, the front right lower A frame assembly snapped and caused the front suspension to drop and the resulting drop caused the front tire to be ripped from its rim. As a result, I briefly lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle. Had this occurred at a higher speed the result would have been disastrous! The lower A-Frame is a thick cast aluminum structure that is approx 11/2" thick where it cracked apart.

As I was driving, it felt as if my car had turned off or had no fuel, but no engine lights came on and i had fuel in my tank. Also all my electrical stuff stayed on, only lost power on the accelerator. My safety and others safety was put at risk because there were no warning signs i just had no "Go power" and no one around me knew my car had no power which could lead to an accident, serious injury or death; if on highway traveling at high speeds and it randomly dies. I took my car to a mechanic and they stated everything was perfectly fine they did a full diagnostic and the computer didn't show any errors in operation. This happened 3 times in one day at random times, i could put the car in park and re-start and it ran fine. however i did have to hold the key forward longer for the engine to turn over.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact did not notice any warning lights on the first failure, but in subsequent failures the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that additionally there was a suction noise that started coming from the fuel cap when the vehicle would stall. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the purge valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

A few weeks ago, the Passenger Sun Vizor in my 2015 fusion suddenly came part. I have attached photos of the current condition. There is no change in handling as I have just used this as a support for the dashboard sunshade as a protection from the hot Arizona Sun. Currently the Vizor is hanging by its wire (Please see photos) and presents a big Safety risk from a visibility and handling standpoint (since its just suspending by itself). When I contacted Ford (via Twitter), they asked me to take it to a dealer to have it checked. Dealer is asking for $159 inspection fee which is absolutely ridiculous since a problem like this should be inspected and fixed for me (being a safety issue). I request NHTSA to take action by bringing this to Ford and getting them to review this issue for a possible recall. I would also like my Vizor to be inspected and repaired as soon as possible.

MY 2015 FORD FUSION WAS PARKED OUTSIDE IN OUR COMPANY'S PARKING LOT IN THE MORNING AND UPON RETURNING TO THE CAR IN THE AFTERNOON (TEMP WAS IN THE 90'S) THERE WAS A CRACK ACROSS THE SUNROOF FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. ALTHOUGH THE SUNROOF DID NOT EXPLODE WHILE DRIVING AND NO ONE TOUCHED THE CAR WHILE IT WAS PARKED, THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS A WIDESPREAD DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE GLASS USED IN FORD'S SUNROOFS AS IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING OR IF IT SHATTERS, SHOWERING THE DRIVER WITH GLASS.

Dashboard shows "temporarily lost connection with climate system". When displayed, the air conditioning system (cold or heat) works. Other functions on dash board are also unavailable. Windows or door locks do not work. Considerable safety concern for all but especially a vehicle transporting young children and/or infants. Summer heats rise to unbearable to dangerous to deadly if not addressed. Ford apparently has no fix but the issue is well documented amongst Ford owners. Unsure why this isn't a recall option given the nature and number of concerns. any help at all would be appreciated. While I provide today's date that it occurred, i share the problem has been ongoing for several years. It is on and off with the only consistent indication being when it is hot outside.

POWER DROPPED DOWN TO UNDER 20MPH AND HAD TO PLACE EMERGENCY BLINKERS ON TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY BARELY MADE IT. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP NO CODES WERE FOUND TO INDICATE THE PROBLEM AND COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. BATTERY WAS REPLACED DUE TO NEXT DAY THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. 2 WEEKS LATER , WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET GOING 35 MPH SAME ISSUE OCCURRED . THE RPM REVED UP AND DROPPED DOWN ALONG WITH WRENCH LIGHT AND SEAT BELT LIGHT COMING N. BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NO CODES STORED TO INDICATE THE ISSUE. THIS IS VERY SCARY TO LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH. THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS MATTER, YOU WOULD THINK FORD WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, UNFORTUNATELY NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET. MY 2015 FORD FUSION HAS DIFFICULTY CHANGING GEARS WHILE DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND, THEN SECOND TO THIRD. ALSO, ROUGH SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS WHEN I MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND THE CAR DID NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. I PUT IT BACK INTO PARK, THEN INTO REVERSE AGAIN AND IT SHIFTED. I DRIVE IT HOME, VERY SLOWLY, AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. FORD CORPORATE IS INVOLVED, AFTER FOUR MONTHS OF ME ASKING FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, AND THEY HAVE NOT INFORMED ME OF A CONCLUSIVE DECISION ON WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO. VEHICLE DISPLAYED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. AFTER FORD INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THEY STATED THAT THE DEFECT WAS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $400. FORD STATED THAT THE DEFECT WOULD NOT ALLOW THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. I ASKED FOR MY VEHICLE BACK BUT HAD TO PAY $89 FOR DIAGNOSTICS. TOOK VEHICLE HOME AND REMOVED DRIVER BELT BUCKLE AND DISCOVERED WIRE BROKEN AT BASE OF BUCKLE (SEE ATTACHED IMAGES). THIS DEFECT THAT WILL NOT ALLOW AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND INVOLVES A BROKEN WIRE IN THE BELT BUCKLE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. OTHERWISE, WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS ALL THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE BROKEN WIRES WILL NOT GET FIXED AND THE ONLY DEFENSE IS THE SEAT BEAT ALONE.

In November 2024 my back up camera failed. The dealership diagnosed a failed camera and installed a new one for $ 800. In July 2025 the camera failed again. It was under warranty but the dealer diagnosed the issue as a low power failure and replaced the battery for $ 600. This week the back up camera is beginning to intermittently fail with a message "see dealership for repair". I feel I may have spent $ 1400 for unnecessary repairs as the issue still exists. My Ford Fusion Hybrid is not on the list of Fords covered under the current recall.

When placing the car in reverse the rear backup camera does not show image and will display a black screen or a message the camera is not working and to contact a dealership. Camera worked correctly until Jan 2025. Randomly, the rear backup sensors, while camera shows black screen, will not alert the driver to being object in its path. At other times when the screen is black, the sensor will alert the driver. If you get the "Camera Not Working" message, the rear backup sensors will alert the driver to objects in its path.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the Electric Parking Brake would unexpectedly while driving at various speeds without driver input. The contact then had to press the release for an extensive amount of time before the Electric Parking Brake was released, allowing the contact to return to driving the vehicle. The message “Electric Parking Brake Service Required” was displayed. The contact stated that the radio display screen had begun flashing on and off while driving at approximately 25 MPH. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts for the recall repair were not available. The dealer was unable to confirm when parts would be available. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the Electric Parking Brake failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I replaced the whole cooling system and the reason for overheating still can’t be determined. I brought the car for $5000 and had $3000 of work done and it is still not drivable. The dealer refused to fix it or give a refund. I still have not been able to drive the car.

Car was taking him for a recall on brake lines. Dealer phoned me and suggested that they replace the Lugnuts because they are a two piece. They are swollen and it’s a safety issue. I agreed to have them replace them at my cost because there is no warranty on these defective Lugnuts I see that this is an ongoing issue that Ford has known for quite a while. I think they should reimburse the people for the money they have spent on the dealer charges or just warranty them for the rest people that come in with the same issue. I also believe that my dealer is way over charging 10 Lugnuts will be about $100 for me to pay whereas I can buy a set of 20 of them online for under $20. I think this is outrageous.

Headlights do not work. I have replaced the low beams bulbs 3 times since purchasing my car over three years ago and each time the lights only work for a brief period of time them seem to short out unexpectedly, for no reason whatsoever. The high beams have been replaced multiple times as well. I purchased the fluorescent bulbs for better night vision. The lights were bright for a short period them dimmed and are only as bright as they should be if they were on low beam. This is some sort of an electrical issue or something to do with a manufacturer’s defect. Since I purchased my vehicle almost 4 years ago, there has been an ongoing issue with the transmission or alternator. The car “jumps out of gear” when putting the vehicle into park or when shifting the vehicle into drive from park. There is also a constant loud “humming/vibration” sound that clicks on and off continuously once the car is initially crunk up. The passenger door is coming off due to the loosening of bolts I assume but I’m not certain. Nothing has happened to cause this issue. The power outlets in the vehicle get extremely hot at times and cause phone cords to heat up. This has caused my phone to be destroyed! The rear view camera is now blurry with lines going through it. This is only happening when the car is put into reverse and rear view camera is in use. The Bluetooth and media in the vehicle gets stuck on “Sync Line In” & at times will not change to any other setting. This seems to be an electronic issue as well. There have been MANY recalls on my vehicle and I have taken it to the Ford dealership for repair each time however, none of these issue have been resolved . On May 15, 2023 I got in my car, proceeded to drive off when I noticed that the airbag light was still illuminated on the instrument panel. I notified the dealership the next day and dropped my car off on May 17, 2023. On May 19 a diagnostics test was run and revealed that I had a faulty seat belt buckle. I declined service on the car. This was shocking to me since I took my car to them less than 4000 miles and less than a year ago for the airbag light staying on again in 2022. At that time it was revealed that it was the passenger seat position sensor & it was repaired. In 2020 my car was also a part of Recall 19S25 for the seat belt. In 2018 repairs were also done on my car due to the airbag light coming on as well. I'm driving the car but now don't know if it is safe to drive. When I picked up the car, the light was still on but about 4-5 days later the light went off by itself. The passenger seat has barely been used since I purchased the car in 2015. After the repairs were done in 2022, the seat/seat belt has not been used so I don't understand how it can be faulty. It seems to me that there's a defect somewhere and it should be investigated. I would appreciate if this is given serious consideration. When I spoke with Ford Motor Company, they told me to contact you to have you investigate the matter. I was driving on the freeway yesterday, about 70mph driving conditions were good, it was sunny and warm, and traffic was flowing regularly, and I felt as thought something gave way or loosened up because the car and steering ability were not in synch. I was then approaching a congested area and needed to slow down but the brakes did not brake as fast as they should of and I almost smashed right into the car in front of me. There felt like a disconnection between the brakes, the steering, and the entire car. I have keep my care well maintained and do not miss my regular maintenance appointments. I just had it smogged, with a change of oil and 80k inspection. The tires were checked and everything was ok. There were no indicator lights or alerts however, I do have a light that will not shut off and i was told subject to a recall. It's the front fog lights? or running lights? its the front lights not head lights but the ones the side. That light doesn't impact my driving ability. This is a very unsafe and frightening experience and I would like it investigated before someone really gets hurt.

The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel drifted to the left while depressing the brake pedal, and excessive force was needed to maneuver the steering wheel. The air bag warning light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer on numerous occasions, where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on four separate occasions, where it was diagnosed that a wheel alignment was needed; however, after the alignment was completed, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that all tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to Kings Ford (9555 Kings Auto Mall Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249), where it was diagnosed that another alignment was needed; however, the failure persisted after the repair. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the mechanic related the failure to the recall; however, the dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was advised to apply the parking brake whenever parking the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Brake line delaminated - had to replace after brakes went out completely. Paid out of pocket for repair after tow. Power assist steering stopped working abruptly. Had bolts replaced for earlier recall related to salt in states with winter conditions which could cause this exact issue of the power steering to fail. Hill assist is also not working.

On a separate occasion, the contact stated that while driving 30 MPH and her child was saying his seat beat in the rear passenger side was tight on him, The contact pulled over and pulled and attempting to pull the seat beat loosen the seat belt but it would not loosen up. The contact shut off the vehicle so the seat beat to loosen but it still would not loosen. The contact had to cut the seat beat to unstrap her child. In August 2019 I reported to Ford that the brake lights were staying on all the time even when the car was shut off. I was still able to drive my car (Ford Fusion Hybrid 2015) to the Ford Dealer Ship in Sarasota. I was told they have to keep the car because it's a danger and not legal to drive with that kind of defect of my brake lights. I had to pay $ 1115.24 for the repair of the car . Ford had to replace the brake pedal assembly. My car was in the shop for a month. They also replaced the steering wheel bolt which was a recall 18S08. In my opinion I paid for a repair that is now a recall. Will I be able to get my money back and a compensation for not having a car for 1 month provided we are talking here about the same issue?

Randomly and without warning, the entire climate control system shuts off as well as the entire center console. The only message during this period is "temporarily lost communication with climate control". When all this shuts off, the drivers side controls for the windows becomes inoperative as well as the passenger side lock/unlock button. This renders a safety hazard because during times of heat and cold it becomes impossible to run the climate control or roll the windows down for any air movement. Also an extreme hazard is the passenger is unable to unlock the doors in even of an emergency. Occasionally when this happens, the air bag light will illuminate, causing unknown safety hazards in that aspect. I have contacted the dealership and was told it sounds like a potentially faulty computer module, or faulty wiring that could cost thousands to repair. The issue occurs 80% of the time the car is in operation and seems to happen more on hot days where it becomes critical to have air movement/AC.

FUSE CONTINUES TO POP. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A GROCERY STORE AND AFTER THE SHOPPING THE VEHICLE STARTED UP BRIEFLY THEN DIED. WE CHANGED THE FUSE AT THE PARKING LOT BUT IT POPPED THE FUSE AGAIN. WE ENDED UP HAVING IT TOWED. THE MECHANIC BELIEVES IT IS A FUEL PUMP ISSUE OR WIRING TO THE FUEL PUMP. WE ARE ON MILITARY ORDERS IN ITALY AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REACH FORD TO AUTHORIZE REPAIR SINCE WE DO HAVE A VALID EXTENDED WARRANTY. ITALIAN FORD DEALERS WILL NOT WORK ON AMERICAN SPEC CARS. WE HAVE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO HAS ACCESS TO FORD BUT NEEDS THE AUTHORIZATION CODE IN ORDER TO START REPAIRS AND RECALLS. WE ARE GETTING THE RUN AROUND WITH FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE HOTLINES AND NO ONE SEEMS TO BE WILLING TO HELP. WE CANNOT SHIP THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE STATES WITH ACTIVE RECALLS ON IT. THE MOMENT WHEN I LOST CONTROL WAS DURING MY SLIGHT RIGHT TURN MOVING AT SPEED OF ABOUT 30MPH I DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE I WAS MORE FOCUSED TO NOT HIT ANYONE PRESENR AT THAT MOMENT ON THE ROAD. GOOD THING IS THAT SCHOOL ACROSS THE ROAD WAS CLOSED BECAUSE TIMING WHEN THIS HAPPEN WAS AROUND THE TIME WHEN PARENTS USUALLY PICK THEIR KIDS FOR SCHOOL. AFTER I PARKED CAR I INVESTIGATE TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPEN. THERE WERE THREE MESSAGES INDICATING THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG: 1. STEERING ASSIST FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED, 2. SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND 3. HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS SEARCHING TODAY TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIANCE AND RESULTS WERE POSITIVE A LOT OF CASES LIKE THIS ONE. IF I CRANK THE CAR SOON AFTER CUTTING IT OFF, (WHILE IT'S STILL WARM) ENGINE SPUTTERS THEN QUITS, AS IF IT ISN'T GETTING ENOUGH FUEL. SO WHEN GETTING GAS, I HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE GAS PEDAL OR ENGINE QUITS. AS SOON AS I START PUMPING, THE ENGINE STARTS CHOKING. I CAN'T TURN OFF THE IGNITION WHILE PUMPING GAS BECAUSE IT WON'T STAY CRANKED ONCE I TRY TO DRIVE AWAY UNLESS I REV THE RPM'S UP REALLY HIGH FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. I'VE HAD IT LOOKED AT SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR. AND NOW WHITE SMOKE BILLOWS OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE WHEN IT'S CRANKED. SECOND PROBLEM....ELECTRICAL. SOME OF THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS, SUCH AS CRUISE AND HANDS-FREE CALLING STOP WORKING OVER TIME. THIRD PROBLEM.... FRONT CV JOINTS WEAR OUT WAY TOO SOON. I HEARD OF A RECALL ON THE NEWS A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO FOR MY CAR THAT SOUNDED LIKE MY ENGINE ISSUE, BUT NOW I CAN'T LOCATE THE RECALL ANYWHERE. THEY EVEN TOOK IT OFF OF THE NEWS CHANNEL'S WEBSITE. DURING THE BROADCAST, THEY SAID THE RECALL WOULD BEGIN DECEMBER 10TH. WHAT HAPPENED??? DID FORD CHANGE ITS MIND? SURE WOULD HELP ME OUT! RECALL # 18S20: HELLO THERE MY SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WHICH HAS BEEN NAMED IN A RECALL FAILED LAST THURSDAY. I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE CAR GOT STUCK IN PARK, HOWEVER THE CAR WAS ROLLING AND THE DISPLAY SAID THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL. I PUT THE BRAKE ON AND SET THE PARKING BRAKE BEFORE TURNING THE CAR OFF. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SURE ENOUGH THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS VISIBLE AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I GOOGLED A PICTURE OF THE PART JUST TO CONFIRM AND WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT THE WHITE PIECES AND CORROSION THAT WERE LEFT BEHIND WERE REMNANTS OF THE CABLE BUSHING WHICH LOOKS LIKE A WHITE BEAD. THE RECALL NUMBER IS 18S20 AND THE NOTICE INSTRUCTS ME TO GO TO THE LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE THIS REPLACED. I CONTACTED TWO LOCAL FORD DEALERS AS INSTRUCTED AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN ITS AVAILABLE AND THE HAVE NO ETA ON PART AVAILABILITY, HOWEVER MY VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE WHILE I AM WAITING. I AM A SINGLE PARENT WITH SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN AND I HAVE TO WORK AND CANNOT AFFORD A RENTAL AND THERE ARE NO LOANER CARS BEING OFFERED. RECENTLY, WHILE TRAVELING FROM CHICAGO, IL TO LAS VEGAS NEVADA, I EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH MY 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CAR BROKE DOWN IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, WHERE I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, DUE TO THE CLOSENESS OF THE WHERE IT BROKE DOWN. THE REPAIR SHOP STATED THAT THEY WOULD NEED A FEW DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAD NO MORE DAYS TO STAY IN VEGAS, AS I NEEDED TO RETURN HOME. THUS, I FLEW BACK TO CHICAGO, AND LEFT MY CAR IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA IN THE CARE OF THE REPAIR SHOP FOR TESTING AND DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE REPAIR SHOP CALLED AND STATED THAT MY CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS BEFUDDLED ME, AS MY CAR WAS JUST BARELY TWO YEARS OLD AND HAS LOW MILEAGE. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT FORD FUSIONS FROM 2013-2016 HAVE KNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND MANY HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED. I CALLED THE FORD CORPORATE OFFICE AFTER THE REPAIR SHOP ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACING. I WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO FRIENDLY FORD, WHERE I AM WAITING FOR THE DIAGNOSIS TO BE COMPLETED. HOWEVER, I WAS ALREADY ADVISED THAT IF IN FACT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, IT WOULD BE TAKE APPROXIMATELY 4-6 WEEKS TO BE COMPLETED. THIS PRESENTS A TREMENDOUS INCONVENIENCE TO ME, AS I AM IN CHICAGO AND MY VEHICLE IS 1800 MILES AWAY FROM ME, ESSENTIALLY USELESS TO MY DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES WHICH INCLUDE SCHOOL, WORK, DOCTORS' APPOINTMENT ETC. I AM A FULL-TIME STUDENT, AND WORK FULL TIME. UNFORTUNATELY, RECENTLY I HAVE BECOME VERY ILL AND HAVE HAD TO CATCH RIDES TO MY VARIOUS DOCTORS' APPOINTMENTS. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN CRASH. DEALER REPAIRED SAID VEHICLE AND SEAT BELTS WORK SOMETIMES AS WELL AS INSTRUMENT PANEL. VEHICLE CONSTANTLY PULLS TO THE RIGHT. DEALER SAYS NOTHING WRONG. OTHER ISSUES BUT NOT SAFETY RELATED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A TURN, THE BRAKES PULSATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK, THE BRAKES VIOLENTLY PULSATED AND RESULTED IN AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS ONE UNKNOWN INJURY REPORTED THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

WHEN MY PETITE WIFE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG REMAINS OFF. SHE IS 5'1, APPROXIMATELY 100LBS. THE DEALER STATED THE CAR WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY AND DID NOT WANT TO LOOK INTO THE ISSUE. WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH OUR 2010 SUBARU LEGACY, THOUGH I NEVER REPORTED IT. IS THIS CORRECT? ARE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAGS FOR THIS CAR DESIGNED AND TESTED NOT TO GO OFF FOR SOMEONE HER SIZE?

WHILE THE CAR IN REVERSE, IF THERE IS A INCOMING TEXT MESSAGE FROM THE PAIRED PHONE, THE PICTURES FROM THE BACKUP CAMERA SOMETIMES COULD BE LOST AND BLACKED OUT. HENCE, INCREASE THE CHANCE OF COLLISION.

THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WIPER AND/OR WINDSHIELD DESIGN - IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE WHEN IT IS RAINING, EVEN JUST MODERATELY RAINING, AND EVEN WITH THE WIPER SPEED ON HIGH. I CAN'T TELL IF THE WIPERS ARE TOO SLOW, IF THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD PROMOTES WATER RETENTION, OR IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WIPER MECHANISM DESIGN (INSTEAD OF GOING THE SAME DIRECTION, THE WIPERS START IN THE MIDDLE AND GO SEPARATE DIRECTIONS TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE). FURTHERMORE, EVERY TIME THE WIPERS MAKE A PASS THERE APPEARS TO BE A FILM ON THE GLASS THAT TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO CLEAR ' IT LOOKS SPLOTCHY, AND ISN'T AFFECTED BY TEMP/DEFROST AT ALL. AT NIGHT WHEN PASSING ANOTHER CAR OR UNDER STREET LIGHTS THIS MAKES A TERRIBLE GLARE, AND OF COURSE THE FASTER YOUR WIPERS ARE GOING, THE MORE "FILM" THERE WILL BE BECAUSE THERE'S NO TIME FOR IT TO CLEAR BETWEEN PASSES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 16 MILES ON IT AND NOTICED IT THE VERY FIRST TIME I HAD TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN (I'M NOW AT 7500 MILES). BETWEEN THE INADEQUATE PREVENTION OF WATER ACCUMULATION AND THE STRANGE FILM, THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. BEYOND THIS, I HAVE NOTICED FOR QUITE A WHILE THAT THE EXHAUST/MUFFLER MAKES A LOUD VIBRATION NOISE, AND AT TIMES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN APPLYING BRAKES (DOWNSHIFT) OR WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING.

THE VEHICLE IS A HYBRID PLUS. IT HAS A CHARGE PORT. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCEPT A CHARGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS FROM FRONT TO BACK HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS JOB REQUIRES COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE ENTIRE INTERIOR. ALSO FORD HAS NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER OR MYSELF IN 5 DAYS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IT HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP - FIRST FOR A FAULTY DASH AND SECOND FOR A BAD AC COMPRESSOR. - VEHICLE HAS 1600 MILES ON IT.

GOOD AFTERNOON, I WANT TO BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A PROBLEM WITH FORD OR WITH ME. SO PLEASE BEAR WITH ME. I JUST PURCHASED THE ABOVE VEHICLE ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. IT IS BRAND NEW. THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH A FEATURE CALLED "ACTIVE PARK ASSIST." IT IS NEW TO ME AND HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE WITH THIS FEATURE PREVIOUSLY. YESTERDAY, I USED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. I TURNED IT ON AND LET IT PARALLEL PARK FOR ME. I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS ON THE VEHICLE VIDEO SCREEN AND TOOK MY HANDS OF THE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE THEN BACKED INTO THE SPACE AND STRUCK THE CAR PARKED BEHIND. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WAS STUNNED. THE DIRECTIONS IN FORD'S MANUAL ARE SOMEWHAT, AT LEAST FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, UNCLEAR. ON PAGE 180, IT SAYS "THE DRIVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR AVOIDING HAZARDS AND MAINTAINING A SAFE DISTANCE AND SPEED, EVEN WHEN THE SYSTEM IS IN USE." ON PAGE 182, THE MANUAL STATES "IF YOUR VEHICLE SPEED EXCEEDS 6MPH, THE SYSTEM SWITCHES OFF AND YOU NEED TO TAKE FULL CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE." I RENTED A 2015 FORD FUSION SE4 FOR 2 WEEKS FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR LOCATION AT 2090 N SR7, HOLLYWOOD, FL 33021, PH.NO. 954-964-9954. DURING THE DRIVE BACK TO ENTERPRISE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE, MY KNEE BRUSHED UP AGAINST THE FOB DANGLING FROM THE KEYED IGNITION SWITCH, THE KEY ROTATED TO THE ACC POSITION FROM THE RUN/ON POSITION AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. I WAS IN DRIVE AT THE TIME, SO I STOPPED THE VEHICLE, PLACED THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. ON ARRIVAL AT ENTERPRISE WHILE STOPPED IN THEIR PARKING LOT WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE, I WAS ABLE WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO ACCESSORY OR OFF WHILE THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN DRIVE. I DEMONSTRATED THIS SAME PROCEDURE TO THE ENTERPRISE AGENT, BUT FELT THAT NHTSA AND FORD NEED TO KNOW THAT THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE PRIOR TO REPAIRS TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND DID NOT ALLOW ACCESS TO VEHICLE BY OWNER. EVENTUALLY, OWNER WAS ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, WHERE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED WITH A "DEAD" BATTERY. SEVEN DAYS LATER BLUE CHARGING RING CONTINUOUSLY BLINKED CREATING ISSUES WITH OTHER VEHICLES AND INDIVIDUALS AND CENTER ELECTRONIC WENT BLANK ELIMINATING BACK UP CAMERA AND SYSTEM CONTROLS AND REMAINED BLANK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND WOULD FLICKER BACK ON (THIS OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE.). AGAIN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP, CHARGING PORT AND CABLE REPLACED. NEXT MORNING VEHICLE SHOWED A "WRENCH" WARNING SIGN WHICH INDICATES A "POWER TRAIN" ISSUE AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN GEAR. AFTER FOUR ATTEMPTS, VEHICLE ENGAGED IN GEAR AND VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP.
