TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN CRUISE CONTROL AT 40 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL. IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, HE WOULD HAVE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT IT MAY BE THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE MOTOR ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE MOTOR ASSEMBLY. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER A SECOND TIME AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WOULD RECALIBRATE THE PCM BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WOULD FULLY REPAIR THE FAILURE. ENGINE STOPS RUNNING AND HAS TO BE RESTARTED. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES OVER 22 MONTHS AND HAD IT TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES. THEY HAVE TRIED SEVERAL THINGS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT TO NO AVAIL. ONE TIME I WAS GOING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND THE ONLY WAY I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK DUE TO THE ENGINE FAILURE.

TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE WAS AT A STOP AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ALL POWER. THE ENGINE WOULD REV BUT NOT MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALER TOLD THE CONTACT THAT WAS HOW THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED.THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT IT TOOK TIME TO SEND THE SIGNAL TO THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE PROBLEM. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,700. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30.

SUNDAY JULY 12 ENGINE STOPPED. 3RD. TIME IN ONE MONTH AND NOW HAS 4851 MILES ON IT.. FOLOWING PREVIOUS SUGESTION FROM BETHLEHEM FORD, I DID NOT TRY TO RESTART ENGINE .CAR TOWED TO NEAREST FORD DEALER, RAY PRICE FORD , MT. POCONO, PA. ON MONDAY JULY 13, THEY NOTIFIED ME THEY HAD CHECKED ENGINE CODES ETC.& COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM . I GOT CAR THAT AFTERNOON , DROVE APPRXIMATELY 17 MILES & ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN. THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME IN 2DAYS AND 4TH TIME IT STOPPED IN 2 MONTHS.. CAR WAS TOWED BACK TO BETHLEHEM FORD WHERE IT STAYED 3 DAYS. THEY SAID THEY "UPDATED THE COMPUTER " AND "IT MAY SOLVE THE PROBLEM." ALL OF THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY FORWARDED TO FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT "THE DEALER HAS DONE ALL CHECKS REQUIRED" AND THERE WERE "NO OTHER REPORTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THE '09 TAURUS". HA! FORTUNATELY, CAR NOW HAS OVER 10,000 MILES ON IT AND HOPEFULLY THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 FORD TAURUS. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AT 2 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LUNGED BACKWARDS AT AN ABNORMAL SPEED. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SWERVED AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. 2009 FORD TAURUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *SMD THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. HE IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK POSITION AND THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNK SOUND. WITHIN A SECOND OR SO, HE TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION. HE THEN RE-STARTED THE CAR AND IT RESUMED ITS NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONSUMER STATED EACH TIME, HE WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT, WITH HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I WAS DRIVING THIS 2009 FORD TAURUS THAT I JUST GOT FROM THE DEALER SHIP.I WAS AT A STOP AND THERE WERE PEOPLE INFRONT OF ME WHEN I WENT TO MOVE FORWARD I TAPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND IT ACCELERATED REALLY FAST AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HIT THE BACK OF A VAN AND MY AIR BAG WENT OFF ..I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE THROTTLE WAS STICKING , I BELIEVE THAT WHEN I TAPPED THE GAS IT STUCK AND ACCELERATED FAST MAKING THE CAR HIT SOMEONE ELSE ..MY BUMPER IS CRACKED AND MY AIRBAG WENT OFF ....I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS FAULTY AND THAT THIS SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF AND PAID FOR ...I WILL BE CONTACTING A LAWYER TO EXHAUSTED ALL MY OPTIONS ....THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOME ONE REALLY GETS HURT ...I WANT TO BE CONTACTED [XXX].... On 4 separate occassions, my 2009 Ford Taurus limited automatic transmission dropped out of gear while I was accelerating slowly away from a stop The times they have occurred Is from a stop sign into traffic. It dropped out of gear at about 5 mph and made a growling noise. . I put my foot on the brake. When I started it again everything worked fine. . I was leaving a parking lot and I had reached a speed of 5-15 mph when there was no longer any gear, then it slammed into gear for a moment, went a few feet, then dropped out again, then slammed into gear again. I was able to coast to the curb in a residential area and turn the engine off. Fortunately no traffic was coming.Another time I pulled into traffic and slipped out of gear Iwas able to back up only and parked it. Then several hours later I started the engine again and had no further trouble. so far. I was checking out recalls and service bulletins on it today and I found that other owners reported similar problems. If I had been pulling out into traffic and my transmission failed the way it did, there could easily have been an accident. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE !!!!!!!

THE CAR HAS LOW MILES FOR THE YEAR 42K. THE TRANSMISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN ERRATIC, HARD SHIFTING, HOLDING GEARS FOR TOO LONG. A NEW PROBLEM THAT IS HAPPENING, IN THE MORNING CAR CLUNKS EXTREMELY HARD INTO SECOND GEAR. I WENT TO ACCELERATE ONTO A BUSY ROAD AND THE TRANSMISSION BANGED SO HARD IT STARTLED US AND LOST POWER. THERE'S A SAFETY CONCERN WITH THIS BECAUSE IT LOST ALL POWER AND WE WERE ALMOST HIT BY AN APPROCHING CAR. AFTER DOING SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET, I FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF FORD TAURUS MODEL. THE FORD COMPANY IS APPARENTLY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IN THEIR TRANSMISSIONS AND WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 23K MILES ON IT. AS OF TODAY, WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SAFETY IN TRAFFIC.

MY 2009 TAURUS LMTD AWD 6 SPEED 3.5 V6 WOULD ROLL BACK ON A HILL QUITE A BIT AND IF YOU PRESS THE GAS, IT STALLS AND YOU HAVE NO BRAKES. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD "THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC. THE LOWER IDLE SPEED ON THE CAR DOES NOT OVERCOME THE TC SLIP UNDER THAT CONDITION. NEW 2010 FORD TAURUS SEL A FEW WEEKS OLD HAS A DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE TRANSMISSION OR CLUTCH MECHANISM. THE PROBLEM OCCURS AFTER STOPPING IN TRAFFIC ON AN INCLINED STREET, WHEN TRAFFIC STARTS AND YOU LET OFF THE BRAKE TO MOVE YOUR FOOT THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR FREELY ROLLS BACKWARDS TOWARD THE CAR BEHIND YOU BEFORE YOU CAN REASONABLY APPLY POWER WITH THE ACCELERATOR TO STOP THE ROLLING. THE TRANSMISSION IS IN DRIVE IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES DESCRIBED. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHEN PARALLEL PARKING AT A CURB WHERE THE STREET IS NOT LEVEL. THIS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY TO SOMEONE WHO MIGHT WALK BEHIND THE CAR AT THE WRONG TIME. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS THAT AFTER THE CAR IS STOPPED ON AN UNLEVEL AREA AND PUT IN PARK, IT ROLLS FORWARD OR BACKWARD FOR ABOUT A FOOT OR SO BEFORE THE ENGINE TORQUE ENGAGES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS AGAIN PRESENTS A DANGER TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY. BO BOECKMAN FORD IS THE DEALER WHO SOLD THE VEHICLE TO ME. THIS VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN AN ACCIDENT AND NO AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. IT WAS TRAVELING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, WHEN A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 TURNED IN TO THE VEHICLE FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION LEFT TURN LANE. THE DRIVER DOOR HAD TO BE CUT OPEN TO EXTRACT THE DRIVER. SO THE CAR WAS MOVING AND THE IMPACT KNOCKED THIS CAR IN TO ANOTHER VEHICLE AS WELL.

MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, [XXX], WAS DRIVING A FORD 2007 TAURUS (108, 000 MILES) FROM YPSILANTI, MI TO DAYTON, OH. SHE HAD ON BOARD HER INFANT (4 MONTHS) AND TODDLER (4 YEARS). EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY UNTIL THEY ENTERED THE SUBDIVISION OF HER PARENTS. FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE CAR TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD ALL CAME ON. WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 55MPH MY ENGINE STALLED. SMELLED ELECTRICAL WIRE BURNING. SMELL WENT AWAY, SO I RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND DROVE ON. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, WHERE A TAIL LIGHT HARNESS WAS DISCOVERED TO BE BURNED THROUGH. WHILE DRIVING MY DAUGHTER'S VEHICLE IT WILL RANDOMLY STALL OUT OR SHUT OFF. DASH LIGHTS COME ON, AND STEERING LOCKS UP. BOTH TIMES SHE WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT RAN AND DROVE NORMAL AGAIN. SHE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO HER TWICE IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. SHE HAS ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER TWO MONTHS. BOTH TIMES SHE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES PER HOUR.

THE AC BLOWS HOT AIR ON THE DRIVER SIDE & COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.THE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR IS BAD. IT'S VERY HARD TO GET TO AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE REPLACED. I HAVE SEEN OVER 100 COMPLAINTS ON MULTIPLE YEARS AND MODELS OF FORDS. ESPECIALLY TAURUS MODELS. PLEASE FORCE FORD TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES INSTEAD OF THE VEHICLE OWNERS PAYING UPWARDS OF 600 BUCKS TO HAVE IT DONE.

Car shop replaced front suspension struts 1/23/19. I told owner that made the clunking noise ever worse. Kevin said well, your car needs lower control arms, bushings, &engine mount. Had that done by same car shop on 9/16/2019. I told Kevin that did not take care of clunking noise. I took car to an auto shop where I moved to for maintenance. They told me my struts were bad. Called Kevin in Fayetteville & the struts were going out of warranty later that week. I drove up there & the replaced struts on 1/27/2020, under warranty but charged me labor. The clunking continued. Around 6/29/2022, my car steering locked up while I was driving on a busy street. I turned the car off & waited a minute to restart. It drove properly then. I took it to auto shop & the owner said the struts were bad. This would be the 3rd set of struts since 1/23/2019. This car shop owner told me the problem read the strut bearings and they’d never been replaced. Owner said that is the base component of strut replacements. According to my invoices, I don’t see a charge either time for “strut bearing”. I’ve filed a Complaint with the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office in Little Rock. I asked for money reimbursement for all the charges from Kevin so I can have the local car shop (being the same one that told me strut bearings not being done) was do this 3rd set of front struts. The response to AR Attorney General from Kevin is a joke! I have all documents pertaining to this.

I PURCHASED A 2009 FORD TAURUS DEMO. WITH A 1000 MILES ON ODOMETER ON JULY 30, 2009. ON SEPT. 26, 2009 I WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN ON RT. 220, NEAR STATE COLLEGE, PA, AT 55 MPH. SUDDENLY THE MOTOR TURNED OFF AND I HAD TO DRIFT OFF THE ROAD TO STOP. THE LIGHTS, WIPERS AND MY RADIO WERE STILL WORKING. I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. ON THE 2009 FORD TAURUS, THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID MISSES THE MIDDLE BOTTOM SECTION, TRIANGULAR IN SHAPE, APPROX ONE FOOT HIGH. Every couple weeks when driving slowly around a corner, the brakes will all of a sudden come on & stop my car. If I had anyone behind me, I would have had several collisions, by now. My mechanic has looked at the brakes, wheels, etc., & cannot find the problem. I am VERY concerned about this defect. PLEASE HELP!

WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 FORD TAURUS 83,000M THE BREAKS HARD STOP ON ITS OWN, IT WAS HARD ENOUGH THAT IF ME AND MY PASSENGER WAS NOT WEARING OUR SEAT BELTS IT WOULD HAVE SMASHED HIS FACE INTO THE DASH AND MY FACE INTO MY STEERING WHEEL, WE WERE ON A SIDE STREET TURNING LEFT AND AS I WAS ACCELERATING THE BREAKS HARD STOPPED ON ITS OWN. THE OTHER TIME THE BREAKS HARD STOPPED WAS WHILE TURNING RIGHT ONCE AGAIN ACCELERATING AND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED ON A VERY BUSY MAIN STREET. MY WIFE AND GRANDSON WERE ENTERING THE TOLL WAY VIA THE RAMP, AS SHE MERGED INTO 75 MPH TRAFFIC SHE INCREASED HER SPEED TO MATCH. AS SHE DID SHE LET UP OFF THE ACCELERATOR BUT THE CAR KEPT INCREASING SPEED. SHE REALIZED THAT THE THROTTLE WAS STUCK AND STARTED TO PUMP THE PETAL IN HOPES TO FREE IT. IT DID NOT FREE AND WAS STILL INCREASING SPEED. SHE THEN IN HER PANIC COULD ONLY STOMP ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS SHE COULD. THANKFULLY THIS SLOWED HER ENOUGH TO ALLOW HER TO GET THE CAR OVER TO THE SHOULDER AS SEMI TRUCKS WENT BY HER AT 70 MPH. SHE SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT SHE SUSTAINED 3RD DEGREE BURNS ON THE BOTTOM OF HER BUTTOCKS FROM THE SEAT HEATER BEING ON. I JUST READ A SECTION OF THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR THE CAR AND THERE IS A WARNING THAT SAYS IN SUBSTANCE THAT INDIVIDUALS WITH SPINAL CORD INJURIES CAN SUSTAIN BURNS EVEN WHEN THE SEAT HEATER IS USED AT LOW TEMPERATURES WHEN USED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
