AT EVERY FILLUP WE CAN SMELL GAS LIKE THERE IS A FUEL LEAK. I HAD A SHOP DO A FOG TEST AND THEY CONFIRMED A LEAK "SOMEWHERE FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK". THE TANK WOULD NEED TO BE DROPPED TO VISUALLY INSPECT AT A COST OF $400-$500 JUST FOR THE DROPPING OF THE TANK. THEN THERE WOULD BE ADDED COSTS TO REPAIR WHATEVER IS CAUSING THE LEAK AND SMELL OF GAS. AFTER HEARING THAT I CAME HOME TO START MY SEARCHING FOR RECALLS & SAFETY NOTICES TO FIND THAT GM HAD A NOTICE ISSUED AS WELL AS THE NHTSA, BUT IT SEEMS THEY CUT THE YEAR OFF AT 2004 & 120,000 MILES. ACCORDING TO THE THREAD BELOW, IT APPEARS THIS WAS EXTENDED TO VEHICLE UNDER 150,000 MILES WHICH WE ARE WELL UNDER, BUT WE DON'T HAVE A 2002-2004 MODEL. HI, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS METER ON MY GMC ENVOY 2006. IT HAS 38,000 MILES. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS THAT THE GAS TANK IS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I FILL IT UP. WHEN I START THE ENGINE THE GAUGE GOES SHOWS THAT THE TANK IS FULL, AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING IT GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EMPTY AND I GET THE SIGNAL THAT THE TANK IS EMPTY. MY CONCERN IS ABOUT IF THERE IS ANY RECALL ON THAT BECAUSE IT ONLY HAS 38,000 MILES. I WAS ALSO CHECKING ONLINE AND FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MATTER BECAUSE IT IS A SIGN OF A DEFECTED PART. THE FUEL GAUGE STATED THAT I HAD 300 MILES TILL EMPTY. WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD, IT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EMPTY. I STOPPED AND TURNED IT OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND TURNED IT BACK ON. IT TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES BUT THE MILEAGE AND GAS HAND WENT BACK UP TO WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE. I HAVE A 2006 GMC ENVOY DENALI THAT CAUGHT FIRE THIS MORNING, IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE, CAUSED IN THE HVAC BLOWER CIRCUIT, THE CIRCUIT FUSE DID NOT BLOW, THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE, AND AN OPEN FLAME WAS CREATED. I MANAGED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT, HOWEVER SOMEONE ELSE IN THIS SITUATION MIGHT NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN ABLE TO PULL OFF A BUSY HIGHWAY, LET ALONE EXTINGUISH THE FIRE AS IT WAS UNDER THE DASH BEHIND THE GLOVEBOX. THE SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE FIRE WERE AS FOLLOWS: 1)A FAINT BURNING ELECTRICS SMELL (ELECTRICAL SMOKE IS VERY DISTINCTIVE) 2)BLOWER QUIT RUNNING(WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF SMELL) 3)CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE (WITHIN 1 MINUTE OF SMELL) TO THE POINT I COULD NOT SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD 4)OPEN FLAME WAS PRESENT UNDER DASH (WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF SMELL) THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, 50MPH, HEATING SYSTEM WAS RUNNING, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE 5* FAHRENHEIT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE POINT AS THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPAIR KITS AVAILABLE WITH NEW WIRING CONNECTORS TO REPLACE DAMAGED ONES WHEN REPLACING SPEED RESISTOR THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS ISSUES WITH THE HVAC BLOWER MOTOR SYSTEM

HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HEATER'S BLOWER MOTOR NOT BLOWING OR SOMETIMES BLOWING BUT NOT ON EVERY SPEED. LOOKED UP ISSUE ON YOUTUBE AND FOUND MANY VIDEOS OF THE SAME ISSUE AND THE VIDEOS SHOWED THEM HAVING TO REPLACE THE HEATER'S BLOWER MOTOR RESISTER. AS THE RESISTER WAS BEING REPLACED, WE NOTICED THE RESISTER WAS MELTED ONTO THE PLUG IT PLUGS INTO AND THE THICK RED WIRE WAS ALSO MELTED. RESISTER GOT REPLACED AND THE BLOWER SPEEDS ALL WORKED AGAIN. SHORTLY AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE NEW RESISTER, THE NUMBER 5 SPEED FAILED BUT ALL OTHERS CONTINUED. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE RESISTER FAILED. EXCHANGED AND REPLACED THE RESISTER AGAIN AND WORKED ON ALL SPEEDS BUT 5 AGAIN. HAD A SMELL TO IT WHILE IN USE, WE GOT USE TO IT AND THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT ANYMORE. WORKED FOR OVER 2 YEARS UNTIL 1/12/2019 WHEN AS THE ENVOY WAS IN MY YARD WARMING UP IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT AND WARNING AND BURNED UNDER THE GLOVE BOX CATCHING THE CONTENTS IN THE GLOVE BOX ON FIRE AND MAKING THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES AND EVEN HAD AN EXPLOSION INSIDE THE VEHICLE. BLACK SMOKE WAS POURING OUT ON THE AREA OF THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER AREA. THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE WINDSHIELD ABOVE THE WIPER.

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the headlights would fail not allowing them to see anything while driving. The contact stated that the headlights would only engage using the high beams. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the headlight driver module needing to be replaced. The contact replaced the headlights but the failure still occurred. The contact was relating the failure to the NHTSA campaign number: 15V519000 (Exterior lighting). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I WAS DRIVING TO CHURCH ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, IT WAS RAINING AND DARK SUDDENLY, MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS WENT OUT. I STOPPED AND TURN THE HIGH BEAM ON AND WHEN I TURN THE HIGH BEAM OFF AFTER 2 OR 3 MINUTES THE LOW BEAM CAME BACK ON. THE NEXT DAY THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN ON MY WAY FROM WORK, DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AND THEY JUST WENT OFF. I PULL OVER AND TURN THE HIGH BEAM ON AND OFF FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND THEY CAME BACK ON. REALLY AFRAID NOW TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I USED THIS VEHICLE FOR TRAVELING ON VACATIONS, NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS UNTIL NOW.

INITIALLY, WHEN THE CAR WAS FILLED WITH FUEL, IT IMMEDIATELY INDICATED THAT THE CAR WAS EMPTY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ONCE YOU USED A COUPLE OF GALLONS THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN WORKING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. JUST RECENTLY THE SYSTEM IS NOT CORRECTING ITSELF AND THE FUEL GAUGE WILL CONSTANTLY GO BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY SO I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE IN IT. ALSO THE ENGINE LIGHT IS REMAINING ON.

Went to drive home at night lights were working then all the sudden went out. Pulled over checked fuses n restarted auto and still no lights, the dash board lights were out as well. Safety of other drivers and my family were affected. Did have to have a friend come and get us. And went to get auto next day n still no lights. When got home checked everything agine and fuses were ok the wireing look all intact. Still no lights. Or dash lights.

ONE ENGINE LIGHT HAS A ARROW POINTING DOWN AND THE OTHER JUST HAVE THE ENGINE LIGHT SYMBOL AND THE MY SPEED STARTS TO REDUCE A LOT. I WILL PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SHUT THE CAR OFF WAIT FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND CRANK IT UP AND AFTER MAYBE 15-20 MINUTES OF DRIVING IT POPS BACK ON. I'VE HAD THE MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND HE HAS SAID THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS CHANGING, HAD THAT DONE AND THE SAME PROBLEM CAME BACK. SO I HAD MY OLD ONE PUT BACK ON AND THEN THE MECHANIC SAY MAYBE IT'S THE GAS PEDAL SENSOR. HAD THAT CHANGED AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THEIR. DRIVER HAD JUST EXITED A PARKING LOT ONTO A MAIN ROAD IN THE EVENING. THE CAR WAS COLD, HAD NOT BEEN USED SINCE THE MORNING. THE CAR FAILED TO TAKE POWER AFTER SLOWING DOWN FOR A LIGHT THAT WAS RED THAN CHANGED TO GREEN. THE CAR WAS ON AND IN DRIVE, BUT FAILED TO GO FURTHER. THERE WAS NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. THE DRIVER BRAKED AND STOPPED, NEARLY CAUSING THE CAR BEHIND TO REAR END THE GMC. GMC DRIVER HAD PUT FLASHERS ON IMMEDIATELY. THE CAR WAS PUT IN PARK, TURNED OFF, THAN RESTARTED. THE GMC WAS PUT INTO DRIVE, BUT AGAIN WOULD ONLY ROLL. THE DRIVER PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR 3 ON THE AUTO TRANS, THAN 2. IN GEAR 2, THE CAR MOVED. THE GMC WAS IMMEDIATELY MOVED BACK TO ITS PARKING SPOT. THIS MORNING, MY WIFE WAS PARKING AT ONE OF OUR KID'S SCHOOLS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FAILED TO RESPOND. SHE ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, BUT IT WOULD NOT INITIALLY. ONCE THE SHIFTER WOULD MOVE FORWARD, THE VEHICLE DIED, AND CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER WAS POSITIONED AS IF IN PARK. SHE HAD THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO LET IT ROLL UNTIL STRIKING THE PARKING SPOT CEMENT BUMPER. SHE REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, THEN ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH NO SUCCESS AND THE SHIFTER BUTTON WOULD NOT DEPRESS. SHE PANICKED BECAUSE OF LOOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WITH SO MANY SMALL KIDS AROUND AND CALLED ME. I LEFT WORK, AND UPON ARRIVAL ATTEMPTED TO TROUBLESHOOT WHAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT. I STARTED AT THE SHIFTER, SO I LOOSENED ALL THE COVERS AROUND IT, IN CASE THERE WAS SOMETHING BINDING THE SHIFTER. I ACTUALLY DID FIND SEVERAL SMALL ITEMS THAT HAD FALLEN IN THE COMPARTMENT THROUGH THE FRONT EDGE OF THE CENTER CONSOLE COVER ASSEMBLY. REMOVING THESE ITEMS STILL DID NOT ALLOW RESTARTING OF THE VEHICLE. I THEN LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, AND DISCOVERED THAT THE LINKAGE FROM THE SHIFTER TO THE TRANSMISSION HAD SEPARATED. I MANIPULATED THE INPUT LEVER AT THE TRANSMISSION WITH MY HAND AND NOTICED THAT IT HAD MOVEMENT IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, WHICH MEANT THE TRANSMISSION WAS ACTUALLY NOT IN PARK. AFTER POSITIONING THE INPUT LEVER AT THE TRANSMISSION TO PARK, THE VEHICLE DID START. I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RECONNECTED THE SEPARATED LINKAGE. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THE PIECE THAT MAINTAINS SUCH AN IMPORTANT LINKAGE CONNECTED APPEARS TO BE MADE FROM A PLASTIC. TO ME THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE SOMEONE TO POTENTIALLY HAVE A VEHICLE STUCK IN A MOVEMENT CAUSING GEAR, AND DUE TO A LINKAGE SEPARATION HAVE NO WAY TO PROPERLY TURN THE VEHICLE OFF (UNTIL IT RUNS OUT OF GAS), TO MADE FROM PLASTIC. LEAVING A RESTAURANT I WAS UNABLE TO PLACE MY CAR IN REVERSE OR FOR THAT MATTER ANY GEARS. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SHOWED ME A LITTLE PLASTIC PEACE THAT BROKE AND ADVISED ME IT WAS THE SHIFT LINKAGE. I REVIEWED THE INFORMATION AND WAS AMAZED TO FIND THAT IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THIS LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE TO BREAK IN THE CHEVROLET AND GMC VEHICLES. FAILURE OF THE DOD LIFTER, ALSO KNOWN AS THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. WHILE AT SPEED ON THE FREEWAY, THE DOD LIFTER ON CYLINDER #7 FAILED CAUSING A MISFIRE ON THE CYLINDER WHICH CAUSED TEH ENGINE TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THIS IS THE 2ND FAILURE OF A DOD LIFTER ON MY TRUCK. IN NOV 2014, A DOD LIFTER ON CYLINDER #6 FAILED, CAUSING A ENGINE MISFIRE AND A VIOLENT SHAKE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS DETERMINED TO BE LACK OF OIL PRESSURIZE THE DOD LIFTER. UPON DECIDING TO REBUILD THE MOTOR RATHER THAN REPLACING THE MOTOR, WE DECIDED TO REPLACE ALL INTERNAL COMPONENTS OF THE MOTOR SIMPLY BECAUSE THE MOTOR WOULD NEED A FULL TEAR DOWN ANYWAY. THE LIFTERS, OIL PRESSURE SOLENOIDS OF THE DOD LIFTERS, ROCKERS, ROCKER ARMS, SPRINGS AND CAMSHAFT WERE ALL REPLACED THINKING THAT WE MIGHT AS WELL REBUILD THE BLOCK WITH NEW COMPONENTS TO SAVE OFF ANY FUTURE ISSUES. AFTER 1 MONTH IN THE GMC SERVICE CENTER, THE VEHICLE WAS BACK ON THE ROAD IN DEC 2014. THIS REPAIR WAS $5,900.00 IN MARCH 2016, YES 14 MONTHS LATER, A 2ND FAILURE OF A DOD LIFTER OCCURRED ON CYLINDER #7. THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUES AS IN NOV 2014. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE REBUILT MOTOR ON NEW COMPONENTS INSTALLED IN NOV 2014. THIS REPAIR WILL COST $2500 JUST TO REPLACE THE 1 LIFTER. NO OTHER COMPONENTS. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT A THE DOD FAILURE IS MORE COMMON AND IS A DESIGN FLAW OF THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE IS MORE THAN A TSB ISSUE, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL.

rear hatch window exploded while the car was not moving for no apparent reason lucky no one was in the rear seats or standing in back of the vehicle at the time otherwise the flying glass would have been an issue. And if I had been driving the noise and distraction of the breaking glass could have been an issue as well. No ins or police inspections took place. No lamps or messages or symptoms of any kind presented prior to the glass failure.

FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY ON MY VEHICLE. IT STAYS ON "E" WHEN THERE IS PLENTY OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS THAT I HAVE SEEN ON WEBSITES. OCCASIONALLY THE GAUGE WILL MOVE UP BUT THEN GO BACK TO "E". I WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT IS A BAD FUEL SENOR GAUGE WHICH IS IN THE GASOLINE TANK. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND COULD CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS. THE FUEL GAUGE HAS BEEN LIKE THAT FOR OVER 6 MONTHS, AS THE COST WAS ASTRONOMICAL AND I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. ADDITIONALLY, RECENTLY MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE HAS SHOWN THE MAX AMOUNT AND THEN LAST NIGHT IT WENT DOWN TO THE LOWEST AMOUNT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IT GOES BACK AND FORTH FROM HIGH TO LOW AND THE OIL PRESSURE LOW LIGHT COMES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THEN GOES OFF. IT SAYS TO STOP ENGINE. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANYTHING PHYSICALLY WRONG WITH MY ENGINE AND I WILL BE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW TO CONFIRM THAT. I BELIEVE BOTH OF THESE ISSUES ARE CAUSED BY A FAULTY INSTRUMENT PANEL OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM INCLUDED IN GM'S MODELS. DRIVING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEED, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD REGISTER FULL, THEN WOULD REGISTER EMPTY, THE LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE, AND THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NOT WORK AGAIN. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND URGE THE SAFETY ADMINISTRATION TO FORCE GM TO ISSUE A RECALL. THE SAFETY FACTOR, IS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL WITH NO WARNING ON A STREET OR HIGHWAY AND NO SAFE WAY TO PULL OFF THE ROADWAY OUT OF HARMS WAY.

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that occasionally the vehicle was not able to be started. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic informed the contact that no codes appeared on the code reader and replaced the battery; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the computer needed to be reset after the battery was replaced. The dealer reset the computer; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and diagnosed that there was a leak in the intake manifold after a smoke test was performed. The dealer replaced the manifold gasket; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

BROUGHT THE CAR TO DARCY MOTORS IN JOLIET, IL AND THEY SAID ITS NORMAL AND THE ENVOYS EXPERIENCE THIS. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS AND THE CAR IS 3 YRS OLD AND HAS 80K FOR MILES AND ITS BEEN RUNNING FINE UP UNTIL THE PAST 2MO SINCE WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS. WE EVEN WENT TO SEARS AND PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65-70 MPH. THE ENGINE LUGGED A LITTLE LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS BUT THE TANK WAS HALF FULL. THE ENGINE RESUMED RUNNING AT FULL SPEED. A FEW SECONDS LATER THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO COAST LONG ENOUGH TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY. BUT WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND BRAKES THIS WAS NOT AN EASY TASK. ONCE THE CAR STOPPED I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK BUT THE DRIVER COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO PUT IT ON THE CAR CARRIER BECAUSE THE SHIFTER IS TIED TO THE ELECTRONICS. WITHOUT POWER IT DOES NOT WORK. HE HAD TO CALL FOR ANOTHER TOW TRUCK TO PULL THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN TESTED AND FOUND LOW VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. HE REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. DIAGNOSTICS, PART AND LABOR $307. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IF I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE OUT OF TRAFFIC I WOULD HAVE BEEN A SITTING DUCK IN THE MIDDLE IF THE FREEWAY. DIAGNOSTICS DETERMINED THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS BAD AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. I HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED 14 MONTHS AND 6070 MILES PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE PART WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT DIAGNOSTICS AND LABOR WAS $220. THE FIRST IGNITION SWITCH FAILED AT 65-70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. I UNDERSTAND THAT GM HAS RECALLED IGNITION SWITCHES ON SEVERAL MODELS BUT THE ENVOY IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THREE IGNITION SWITCHES IN THREE YEARS AT A TOTAL COST OF $817. I UNDERSTAND THAT GM HAS RECALLED IGNITION SWITCHES ON SEVERAL MODELS BUT THE ENVOY IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL. THERE WAS NO DEFECT PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER WAS 12V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , VISIBILITY). PURCHASED A PRE-OWNED 2006 GMC ENVOY FROM AN AUTHORIZED GMC DEALER IN COLUMBUS, OH, ON 12/31/2014. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THERE WERE CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THE STABILITRAK FEATURE. THE STABILITRAK LIGHT WOULD RANDOMLY COME ON, AND THEN THE ABS WOULD ENGAGE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BRAKE FOR NO REASON, WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS ALSO HAPPENS AT LOWER SPEEDS WHEN TRAVELING ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS. WE'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES, SPENT LOTS OF MONEY, AND NO ONE CAN FIND A PROBLEM. DUE TO THE STABILITRAK CONSTANTLY MALFUNCTIONING, IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. I AM WRITING IN REGARD TO A FULL SIZED FAMILY VEHICLE THAT I LEASED IN 2006. I LEASED A 3 ROW 2006 ENVOY DENALI XL BY GM. I ALREADY HAD A 14 YEAR OLD SON AND DID NOT THINK I WAS ABLE TO HAVE MORE CHILDREN. HOWEVER, I HAPPILY DISCOVERED THAT MY HUSBAND AND I WERE EXPECTING IN MARCH OF 2007. THE ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE IS THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE LATCH SYSTEM AVAILABLE IN THE CENTER OF THE SECOND ROW, WHICH IS WHERE I BELIEVE THE CARSEAT IS SAFEST. IRONICALLY, MY HUSBAND HAS A 2000 GMC EXTENDED CAB WHICH HAS THE LATCH SYSTEM IN ALL THREE SEATS OF THE 1/2 SECOND ROW. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, GM DIRECTLY, ETC. NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE. MY ARGUMENT IS THAT IF IN A CASH WITH THE CURRENT VEHICLE SPECS, THE SIDE AIRBAGS COULD DEPLOY, THUS HARMING MY DAUGHTER IN THE SIDE POSITION. TRIED TO TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING AND DISCOVERED THE FAN DID NOT WORK. AFTER QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH AND AN EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSIS, WAS INFORMED THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR WAS BURNED OUT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON, FREQUENT, AND EXPENSIVE PROBLEM IF DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP. THERE ARE SEVERAL POTENTIAL HAZARDS TO FAMILIES AND CHILDREN WHICH INCLUDE; THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE CAUSED BY THE HEATED & MELTED WIRE, LOSS OF AIR CONDITIONING IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY WHICH MAY CAUSE HEAT STROKE OR WORSE, AND LOSS OF HEAT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE SAFELY WITHOUT THE WINDOWS ICING OVER AND INHIBITING VISION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A HEATING RESISTOR THAT MELTED SOME OF THE WIRES IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM. THE WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED AND THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO ACTIVATE THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM ON LOW POWER; ONLY MEDIUM AND HIGH DUE TO THE POWER NEEDED BY THE BLOWER WHEN RUNNING ON LOW. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE WIRING HARNESS, THE FUEL GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE 3 TIMES -8/2012, 2/2013, 3/2014 - SO I AM ON THE 4TH IGNITION SWITCH IN THIS CAR, MILEAGE NOW APPROX 108,000. THE 4X4, STABILITRAK, ABS AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON THEN IT BEEPS REPEATEDLY. SOMETIMES CONCURRENTLY, SOMETIMES NOT THE AIR BLOWER STOPS WORKING AS WELL. THIS 3RD TIME, AFTER THE LIGHTS HAD BEEN COMING OFF/ON FOR A FEW DAYS, TURNING THE BLOWER ON WOULD TRIGGER THE LIGHTS TO COME ON. FOR EACH OF THE 3 TIMES, THE GMC DEALER HAS RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH (2X AT MY COST) ON THE MOST RECENT REPAIR A VOLTAGE SPIKE WAS ACKNOWLEDGED BUT THE OPTION TO TRACK THIS BY INSTALLING INLINE FUSES WAS NOT EVEN OFFERED UNTIL I HAD TAKEN MY ISSUE TO A HIGHER AUTHORITY. I DECLINED AS I DON'T CARE TO PUT MORE MONEY IN A CAR THAT EVEN ONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS EMPLOYEES RECOMMENDED I JUST SELL AND BUY NEW. MY CONCERN IS WHETHER THIS CAR IS A HAZARD TO ME AND OTHERS? I HAVE HAD 2 PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST ONE WAS AT 28000 MILES, ABOUT 3 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. THE RESISTOR FOR THE HEAT/AC FAN CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 5 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE FIRE WENT OUT ON IT'S OWN BY THE TIME I HAD ROOM TO PULL OVER (ABOUT 15-20 SECONDS). I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE PART REPLACED RIGHT AWAY SO I HAD TO DRIVE AROUND IN COLD AND ICY CONDITIONS WITHOUT EVEN BEING ABLE TO RUN THE DEFROSTER. THE SECOND PROBLEM WAS THAT AT ABOUT 32000 MILES MY GAS GAUGE BROKE. I HAD JUST FILLED THE TANK AND WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 65 ON THE HIGHWAY. THE GAS GAUGE NEEDLE DROPPED TO EMPTY AND STAYED THERE. I MADE SURE THAT I WAS NOT LEAKING GASOLINE AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. IT WORKED INTERMITTENTLY FOR A WHILE BUT IS NOW COMPLETELY BROKEN. WHEN I FILL UP MY TANK THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR THE FIRST 25-100 MILES AND THE GAUGE READS EMPTY WITH THE FUEL LIGHT ON. I AM UNCOMFORTABLE WITH USING THE 4WD OR TOWING VERY MUCH BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH I KEEP TRACK OF MILES DRIVEN THESE THINGS EAT UP MORE FUEL. I DON'T WANT TO RUN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY READ EMPTY ON THE FUEL GAUGE, THEN THE PANEL SAID LOW OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE. I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY PASSING LANE ALMOST CAUSING A BAD ACCIDENT WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD IN THE BACK SEAT AS I COULD NOT TELL MY FUEL LEVEL. THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD WORK SPORADICALLY OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE WOULD GO AWAY AND COME BACK. WHEN I HAD THIS CHECKED OUT IT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE OIL SENDING UNIT SO IT WAS CHANGED ALONG WITH THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE FUEL SENSOR WAS RESOLVED AT A COST OF $300 BUT THE LOW OIL PRESSURE CAME BACK ON EVEN THOUGH OIL WAS WELL MAINTAINED. SUDDENLY ON 3/1/2012 THE ENGINE RAN LOAD WHEN STARTED UP. I HAD TOWED TO THE SHOP WHERE (GM WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE ENGINE WAS NO GOOD. I HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP THAT DETERMINED THE ENGINE WAS NO GOOD AS WELL. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE ALMOST $5000. I THEN LOOKED ONLINE FOR THIS ISSUE AND FOUND A WEBSITE TRAILVOY.COM (REPRESENT CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND GMC ENVOY). HERE I FOUND 1000'S OF POST OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES LOOKING TO FILE LAW SUITS AND WONDERING WHY WE CAN HAVE NO RECALL ON THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE. THERE ORE 1000'S OF PEOPLE HAVING LOW OIL PRESSURE, DEAD ENGINES WITH LOW MILEAGE VEHICLES, RUN OUT OF GAS ON BUSY ROADS SUCH AS MYSELF AND MUCH MUCH MORE. THE GM ISSUES WE'VE EXPERIENCED AND ARE EXPERIENCING HAS BEEN HERE LONG BEFORE THE CURRENT ISSUES OF GM VEHICLES. I HAD JUST PURCHASED MY ENVOY A FEW DAYS PRIOR AND WAS ON MY WAY TO GET GAS. THE FUEL WAS LOW BUT THE FUEL LIGHT WAS NOT ON. WHEN I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, MY ENVOY DIED. THIS HAPPENED AT EVERY STOPLIGHT UNTIL I PUT GAS IN IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN. IT HAPPENS ANYTIME MY VEHICLE IS BETWEEN 1/4 TANK & EMPTY. THE FUEL LIGHT IS NOT ON WHEN THIS OCCURS. IT ALMOST SEEMS AS IF THERE IS NOT AS MUCH GAS IN IT AS THE FUEL GAUGE READS. IT HAS ONLY STOPPED ONE TIME WHILE I WAS ACTUALLY MOVING (AS I WAS COMING DOWN A RAMP TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE). IT DID NOT START BACK UP IMMEDIATELY WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART IT THAT TIME, BUT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES BEFORE IT STARTED. IT WILL LITERALLY DIE EVERY TIME I STOP UNTIL I PUT GAS IN IT. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN A FEW TIMES WHERE I HAVE SLOWED FOR A RED LIGHT, THEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN SO I WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE VEHICLE EITHER SPUTTERED AND FELT LIKE IT WAS NOT GETTING GAS, OR DIED COMPLETELY. LUCKILY, MOST TIMES I CAN PUT IT IN NEUTRAL & GET IT TO START RIGHT BACK UP WITHOUT HAVING TO PULL OVER. HOWEVER, I FEEL THAT HIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR MYSELF & THE OTHER MOTORISTS TRAVELING BEHIND ME AS I TRAVEL VERY BUSY ROADS ON MY WAY TO AND FROM WORK. AFTER CONSUMING FIVE TO SEVEN GALLONS OF FUEL, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD BEGIN WORKING NORMAL UNTIL THE IT WAS TIME TO ADD THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED AND THE HEATER WOULD BLOW COLD AIR ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND HOT AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE SENDING UNIT IN THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED AND THE HEATER WAS REPROGRAMMED; HOWEVER, THE HEATER STILL DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. BOTH FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELTS DID NOT RESTRAIN. THE SEATBELTS STRETCHED OUT TO THEIR LIMIT. BOTH FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT AND PASSENGER SEAT TWISTED INWARDS TOWARD THE CONSOLE. SEVERE BODILY INJURIES OCCURRED. ON 08/23/2018, GMC WAS MADE AWARE OF THIS. A CASE WAS OPENED. THE EVENT DATA RECORDER WAS RECOVERED BY GMC. THE EDR SHOWED THE IMPACT VELOCITY, NON-DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS AND NON-RESTRAINT OF SEATBELTS. GMC THEN CLOSED THE CASE STATING THAT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, THERE WOULD BE NO FURTHER INVESTIGATION OR COMPENSATION. I CALLED 911 NO POLICE EVER SHOWED NOR WOULD EVEN STOP TO ASSIST. AFTER 2 1/2 HOURS, WE CONTACTED A CHURCH MEMBER TO FIND OUT ABOUT A MECHANIC IN THE AREA THAT COULD POSSIBLY COME CHECK IT OUT. ANOTHER CHURCH MEMBER CAME TO CHECK IT FIRST, BY NOW 3 HOURS HAVE LAPSED AND THE VEHICLE STARTS. AFTER THIS IT HAS HAPPENED ON THREE (3) SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH ME (3/19, 3/20, & 3/21) BUT MY MECHANIC SAID IT HAPPENED WITH HIM 3 OR 4 TIMES WHILE HE WAS DRIVING IT TO CHECK IT OUT AND WHILE IT WAS SITTING JUST RUNNING NOT BEING DRIVEN. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE ONCE, ONCE DRIVING, AND ONCE PARKED AND IT WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONTAL DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SWITCH WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,000.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE HAD TO MAKE MANY REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, NOW THE LIFTERS IN THE ENGINE COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 87,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE AND THE LIFTERS COLLAPSING. WE ARE A ONE INCOME FAMILY AND THE REPAIRS TO THIS VEHICLE ARE ASTRONOMICAL. WELL OVER 3500.00 DOLLARS. WHILE DRIVING, IN PITCH BLACK DARKNESS ON 6/10/2016 AROUND 1:00 AM, MY HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OFF. THE ONLY WAY I COULD OBTAIN LIGHTS WAS USING THE HIGH BEAMS. LOW BEAMS DO NOT WORK AND HIGH BEAM ONLY WORKS IN MANUAL ON/OFF MODE. WE CHECKED THE LAMPS AND FUSES. ALL ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I HAVE NO LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING OR IN PARK. THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS MOVE ON THERE OWN AND AT ANY TIME, WHILE DRIVING , IN PARK AND WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE DOOR PANEL RECALL WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THAT EITHER. LAST YEAR (2015) I HAD TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS (SUSPENSION) ON BOTH REAR WHEELS. THE CAR WOULD DROP DOWN LOWER THAN ANY MID SIZE CAR. ONCE STARTED THE BAGS WOULD INFLATE BUT THE CAR MAY DROP AT ANY GIVE TIME WHILE DRIVING. GM DID NOT COVER THIS COST AND THE DEALER WANTED OVER $1200.00 TO REPAIR. PRIOR TO THAT THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING. WHICH GM DID COVER THE REPAIR COST BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL. I JUST HAPPENED TO BE AT THE DEALER FOR THE DRIVER DOOR RECALL AND MENTIONED IT.

FOR MORE THAN A MONTH MY TRUCK HAS CUT OFF COMPLETELY AS I BEGIN TO BREAK WHEN I I AM COMING TO A STOP OR WHEN I AM MAKING A TURN INTO A PARKING LOT OR AT A CORNER. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW DURING ONE TRIP. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I AM IN MOTION BUT ONCE I TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART IT, IT CRANKS RIGHT BACK UP. I WAS TOLD, BASED ON MY DESCRIPTION THAT IT COULD BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT IN THE TURNDOWN SOLENOID SWITCH OR SENSOR ASSOCIATED WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT I NEED MY VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM ALWAYS OCCURS WHEN I AM ON A CITY STREET. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE WHEN I AM IN PERPETUAL MOTION.THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO LEAVE IT FOR MORE THAN A DAY AT A SHOP, NOR DO I THINK I SHOULD SHOULDER ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PAYING FOR REPAIRS IF IT IS A DEFECT INHERENT IN THE VEHICLE. PLEASE ADVISE ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF THERE IS ANY RECOURSE I CAN TAKE AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER SO I CAN HAVE THESE NEEDED REPAIRS DONE IMMEDIATELY. GAS SENDING UNIT/FUEL PUMP LINES ROT OUT DUE TO CORROSION AND SPRAY GASOLINE ALL OVER THE UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MIGHT STALL BUT OFTEN TIMES IT KEEPS RUNNING, ALL WHILE SPRAYING GASOLINE ALL OVER THE PLACE. THIS ONE DOES NOT EVEN TRIP A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHILE RUNNING IN THIS CONDITION. THE ONLY WARNING WAS THE SMELL OF GASOLINE- SOME PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A SENSE OF SMELL, AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. THIS IS A FIRE WAITING TO HAPPEN. THIS CORROSION ISSUE IS KNOWN TO GM, WHY IS THIS NOT A SAFETY RECALL? THIS LET LOOSE ON MY SISTER IN-LAW WHILE DRIVING, IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN EXPLOSION OR SERIOUS FIRE. GM KNOWS THAT THESE ROT OUT PREMATURELY DUE TO POOR MATERIALS AND COMBINED WITH ROAD SALT AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS IN SNOW STATES. THIS VEHICLE ALSO SUFFERS FROM THE DRIVER DOOR SWITCH FOR DOOR LOCKS AND WINDOWS NOT ALWAYS WORKING, DUE TO SHORTING OUT FROM WATER...AGAIN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH "SOME" UNITS OF THIS YEAR, BUT THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED ON THIS PARTICULAR "UNIT" YET. SOME OF THESE HAVE SHORTED OUT AND CAUSED FIRES- COMBINED WITH THE LEAKY GAS SENDING UNITS, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. DO NOT PARK THIS VEHICLE IN A GARAGE- A FIRE WAITING TO HAPPEN...COME ON- MAKE GM TAKE CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. THIS TRUCK WAS AT A DEALER FOR THE FUEL LEAK, THEY TOLD HER IT NEEDS A SENDER UNIT AND A BUNCH OF OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE FAILED ON THIS POORLY BUILT TRUCK, WHICH INCLUDE WHEEL BEARINGS, ABS SENSORS. STEERING WHEEL SENSOR (? REALLY) INOP DOOR LOCKS, LEAKING FUEL, WATER PUMP LEAKING, FAILING HEADLIGHTS- THAT WORK WHEN THEY WANT, AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER REPAIRS. IT HAS BEEN NEARLY 8 MONTHS SINCE THAT RECALL WAS ISSUED, AND YET THERE REMAINS NO IDENTIFIABLE REMEDY OR SOLUTION AS TO HOW THEY WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND REPAIR / REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS.. ENTITLED TO SAFE VEHICLES, I AM UNSURE AS TO HOW OR WHY GM WOULD BELIEVE THAT 8 MONTHS TO NOT EVEN HAVE ANNOUNCED A SOLUTION IS AN ABSURDITY. AT THIS POINT, THE PERIOD OF TIME IN WHICH THE MANUFACTURER HAS HAD TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A SOLUTION IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE AS A CONSUMER. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE THIS MORNING, THE SPEED ON MY 2006 GMC ENVOY DROPPED SUDDENLY AND I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE THE ROAD WHERE THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. I NOTIFIED ONSTAR, WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND INDICATED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. THE CAR WOULD START UP AGAIN, BUT ONLY MOMENTARILY AND THE ENGINE WOULD DIE AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY HOME AND AM CONTEMPLATING WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT IN TERMS OF REPAIR. THERE WAS ANOTHER ISSUE JUST OVER 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT WORKING AND IT RAN OUT OF GAS. GMC ENVOY XL - 2006 HAS POWERED DOWN THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. NO WARNING LIGHTS PRIOR TO THE POWER DOWN. THE VEHICLE SLOWS TO 15 WITHIN ABOUT 60 SECONDS. THE FIRST TIME, IN APPROXIMATELY 2008, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TWO LANES TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND THE POWER CAME BACK ON WHILE I WAS STILL COASTING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE READING EVEN THOUGH FUEL HAD BEEN DISPENSED INTO THE FUEL TANK. WHILE DRIVING, THE FUEL GAUGE READING FLUCTUATED WHICH CAUSED DIFFICULTY IN DETERMINING THE ACTUAL FUEL TANK LEVEL. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATIVE. THERE WERE ALSO ELECTRICAL ISSUES WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE RADIO NOT TO FUNCTION AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE. THE FUEL SENSOR WAS REPLACED PREVIOUSLY BY THE DEALER AND THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE YEARS LATER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FUEL GAUGE MALFUNCTION. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS PERFORMED IN RELATION TO THE OTHER FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. UPDATED 4/2/12 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILED TWICE. ALSO, AI =R BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS FIXED BY MOVING THE SRS WIRING UNDER THE DRIVER'S SAT. I BOUGHT A USED 2006 GMC ENVOY DENALI WITH 69,000 MILES IN JUNE 2010, BY JULY I WAS REPLACING THE AIR SHOCKS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ON ABOUT 7/28/2011 ON THE BELTWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 65 I WAS IN THE FAR LEFT LANE APPROACHING A LEFT HAND EXIT WHEN MY CAR STALLED, I HAD RUN OUT OF GAS WITH NO INDICATION. I WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR SOMEONE TO COME PUT GAS IN MY TRUCK IN ABOUT 100 DEGREE TEMPATURE. I LATER RAN OUT OF GAS ON A BACK ROAD COMING TO MY HOUSE AT NIGHT. AGAIN NO INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON TO LET ME KNOW I WAS LOW ON GAS. NOW THE GAS GAUGE FLOATS BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY CONTIONUSLY. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY SITUATION BOTH TIMES. 2006 ENVOY DENALI. CONSUMER WRITES STATES GAS NEEDLE STOPPED FUNCTIONING *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE GAS NEEDLE BEGAN TO FLUCTUATE IN THE BEGINNING AND SINCE THAT TIME, THE NEEDLE HAS BEEN STUCK ON EMPTY, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS A RESULT. IN MARCH OF 2009, WHEN THE CONSUMER STARED THE VEHICLE, IT SOUNDED AS IF THERE WAS SOMETHING METAL TUMBLING AROUND UNDER THE HOOD. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ON JUNE 10, 2010, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. AN INSPECTION REVEALED A STARTER WAS NEEDED. ALSO, AN ALIGNMENT WAS DONE AND THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT WAS REPLACED. ON JUNE 12, 2010, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. AFTER 25 MINUTES AND OVER 50 ATTEMPTS, IT FINALLY CAME OUT OF PARK. THE CONSUMER DROVE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. SEPTEMBER 2010, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE REAR OF THE TRUCK WAS SITTING VERY LOW. THE REAR END AIR SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR CONDITION RANDOMLY WORKED. THERE WERE TIMES WHERE THE AIR WOULD JUST START BLOWING AND NO BUTTONS WERE PUSHED. ALSO, THE DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING. THE GAS GAUGE IS READING EMPTY ALTHOUGH JUST FILLED WITH GAS. IT STARTED FLUCTUATING BUT NOW IT JUST REMAINS ON EMPTY DESPITE GAS TANK BEING FULL. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME, I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS CHANGED FREE OF CHANGE BECAUSE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THERE IS SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE WITH THE GAS GAUGE OF THIS CAR AND IT IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY HAZARD OF NOT KNOWING WHEN YOU NEED TO REFILL, VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MY THREE LITTLE CHILDREN IN IT AND COSTLY REPAIRS. MICHELIN CROSS TERRAIN TIRES HAVE DEVELOPED SIDEWALL CRACKS IN ALL 4 TIRES. THE TIRES HAVE 23,750 MILES ON THEM. THEY ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES ON 2006 GMC ENVOY. THEY WERE TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED MICHELIN TIRE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY DID ACKNOWLEDGE THE CRACKS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO CLEARED 5 CODES RELATED TO THE FRONT ABS SENSORS AND BRAKING SYSTEM. I'M A MEMBER OF AN ONLINE FORUM CALLED WWW.TRAILVOY.COM I SEARCHED THE FORUMS FOR "BRAKE SOFTWARE" AND FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS THAT REFLECT MY EXPERIENCE. THE DEALER, DANIELS CHEVYLAND TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HEARD THIS COMPLAINT, AS WELL. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT IF THIS OCCURS ON GRAVEL, WET OR ICY ROADS THAT AN ACCIDENT COULD HAPPEN. TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY DENALI. THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS APPLIED WHILE TRAVELING BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO VIBRATE AT ANY SPEED. IT FELT AND SOUNDED AS IF IT NEEDED TO SHIFT GEARS, AS IN A MANUAL VEHICLE, BUT WAS IN THE WRONG GEAR. IT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH IN NOVEMBER 2006. TWO DEALERS STATED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT REFERENCED THE FAILURE, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO CORRECT IT. WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE FORWARD AND A NOISE COULD BE HEARD. THE NOISE FREQUENTLY OCCURRED AFTER A QUICK STOP. THIS FAILURE HAD OCCURRED DURING THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY AND MAKES A LOUD NOISE DURING THE FIRST 3 MINUTES OF DRIVING. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL MUST BE DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR FOR THE VEHICLE TO MOVE, AND THEN NORMAL ACCELERATION BEGINS AFTER DRIVING 3 MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON 05/02/06 WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE ON 07/20/06 AND DETERMINED THAT THE CLUTCH FAN THAT COOLS THE ENGINE CREATED THE NOISE BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE FOR THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM.
