No codes on the dash, police said the airbags malfunctioned. Car hit an embankment on the front right side then the car flipped over. The steering wheel did not deploy. All of the side airbags, both bottom and top side airbags came out still folded and did not inflate. Car is currently with State Farm insurance at their garage.

My husband made a left turn from a center lane and didn't see a vehicle coming at us because of the blind spot. We hit the other vehicle on the front right side. The airbags deployed and the side airbag exploded and burned my right arm badly. I now have injury scars from the passenger seat airbag exploding. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The contact was a former police officer who had been tasked with investigating a vehicle crash that involved a 2009 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the owner was driving at a yet-to-be-determined rate of speed, he hit a dip in the road which sent the vehicle airborne and off the road. The vehicle then went through a guardrail and crashed into a light pole with a large concrete support post. A control box for an electric sign and the guardrail was damaged due to the accident. The passenger-side air bags did not deploy upon impact. The driver was treated for his injuries at the scene by paramedics. The passenger was taken to the hospital where he was treated for injuries to both his head and torso, the passenger died three days later as a result of his injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard and was a total loss. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was unknown.

I GOT A RECALL NOTICE AND TRYING TO CALL AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR FOR LAST ONE YEAR. THE RECALL NOTICE CLEARLY SAYS I WILL GET A FREE LOANER VEHICLE BUT EVERY TIME I TALK TO DEALERSHIP OR HONDA CUSTOMER CARE THEY DENY THE CLAIM AND SAY THAT I AM NOT ABLE TO GET A LOANER VEHICLE DURING THE REPAIR. THE NOTICE LETTER ALSO SUGGESTED THAT I CAN SCHEDULE THE REPAIR AND GET A LOANER VEHICLE BY TEXTING AT [XXX]. BUT WHEN I TEXTED THE PERSON DENY IT AND SUGGESTED THAT I NEED TO TALK TO CUSTOMER CARE OR HONDA DEALERSHIP. WHICH I ALREADY DID AND THEY DENY ME THE LOANER VEHICLE. MY CAR HAS A PAINT DEFECT THAT HONDA REFUSES TO FIX. THIS PEELING PAINT STARTED IN 2014, I BROUGHT THIS ISSUE TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP, BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. I NOTIFIED HONDA AND THEY WANTED ME TO PAY OVER 3K TO GET THE CAR PAINTED. I HAVE PICTURES OF HUNDREDS OF HONDA'S WITH THE SAME PAINT ISSUES. I have the same problem with the readiness codes on my 2009 Honda Civic 4DSD during my inspection this week, October 2022. This also happened in 2019 and I drove the vehicle between 250-300 miles before the codes reset. This time I have driven the vehicle the same amount and the codes have not reset. After replacing all of my tires at the dealership, my TPMS light kept coming on. I was unable to get back to the dealership as my spouse had a medical emergency. Today while I was doing an extended highway drive to reset the codes, around 105 miles in, my TPMS light popped on and then shut off. The tires were checked, all good, but my EVAP and Catalyst codes have not reset.

The Navigation system's clock automatically resets to Jan 1st 2002 4:00 o'clock and when you try to manually change the clock settings, it just immediately goes back to 12:00. This seems to have effected tons of Civic with the navigation system since Jan 2022.

MY 2009 CIVIC HAS A PROBLEM THAT HAS AFFECTED MANY OTHER EIGHTH GENERATION CIVICS: THE A/C RELAY IS FAULTY AND IS OF A POOR DESIGN AND/OR MANUFACTURE. THE A/C RELAY IS KNOWN TO FAIL VERY PREMATURELY AND CAUSE THE COMPRESSOR FOR THE AIR CONDITIONER TO SPIN/CYCLE CONTINUOUSLY OR STAY ON (EVEN WHEN THE A/C IS NOT TURNED ON), AND THUS CAUSE THE COMPRESSOR TO HEAT UP TREMENDOUSLY AND FAIL, WHICH CAUSES MECHANICAL DAMAGE INSIDE THE COOLING SYSTEM. THERE ARE COUNTLESS STORIES ONLINE, IN CAR FORUMS, AND AT HONDA DEALERSHIPS AND REPAIR SHOPS TO BACK THIS ASSERTION. NOT ONLY DOES THIS SUBSTANDARD A/C RELAY CAUSE EXPENSIVE DAMAGE THAT IS NOT EASILY REPAIRED (HOW DOES A 4 HOUR TEAR-DOWN AND REASSEMBLY SOUND?), BUT IT REPRESENTS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD SINCE THE RELAY IS FAULTY AND MAY CAUSE ISSUES NOT ONLY WITH THE REST OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (INCLUDING THE FUSE BOX WHERE IT IS LOCATED) BUT ALSO BECAUSE OF THE TREMENDOUS HEAT THAT A FAULTY RELAY GENERATES WHEN IT CAUSES THE COMPRESSOR TO CONTINUOUSLY CYCLE. THE INTEGRATED MOTOR ASSIST (IMA) SYSTEM IN MY 2009 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID ERRATICALLY CHARGES AND DISCHARGES HYBRID BATTERY PACK, CAUSING SERIOUS DRIVABILITY ISSUES. THE PROBLEM FIRST DEVELOPED AT ABOUT 8000 MILES WHEN THE ORIGINAL HYBRID BATTERY PACK FAILED. REPLACEMENT OF THE HYBRID BATTERY PACK AND NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO RE-PROGRAM THE IMA CONTROL SOFTWARE HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. IT HAS CONTINUED AND WORSENED THROUGH THE PRESENT MILEAGE OF ABOUT18000. ACCELERATION CONTINUES TO BE HESITANT, JERKY, AND EXTREMELY WEAK WITHOUT THE HYBRID SYSTEM OPERATING CORRECTLY. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE BECAUSE THE IMA SYSTEM MAY BE CHARGING A LOW HYBRID BATTERY EVEN WHEN ACCELERATION IS NEEDED. IN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES THERE IS NO POWER AVAILABLE TO ACCELERATE THE CAR. THIS IS OPPOSITE OF THE WAY THE IMA SHOULD WORK. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO A HONDA DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES OVER 20 MONTHS FOR WORK ON THIS PROBLEM. THE HONDA SERVICE TECHNICIANS HAVE DESCRIBED THE CAR AS SCARY TO DRIVE AND STATED I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE DO THAT BEFORE?. AMERICAN HONDA CLAIMS THE CAR IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AND WILL AUTHORIZE NO FURTHER WORK. WHEN THE CAR IS SHUT OFF, ALL ASSIST TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IS LOST WITHIN 30 MINUTES. THE SI MODELS ARE MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. WHEN THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED TO START THE ENGINE WITH NORMAL FOOT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR WILL ROLL IF ON AN INCLINE. VERY HEAVY PRESSURE IS REQUIRED TO PREVENT ROLLING. THE DEALER AGREES THE PROBLEM EXISTS BUT SAYS THAT IS HOW IT IS DESIGNED. I HAVE 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS; NO OTHER VEHICLES I HAVE DRIVEN EXHIBIT THIS TRAIT. BRAKE BOOSTER, BOOSTER HOSE/CHECK VALVE FAILURES. NINETEEN OCCURRENCES OF HARD BRAKE PEDAL AND LOW PERFORMANCE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM ON 2009 HONDA CIVIC 4 DOOR SEDAN. THE 1ST HONDA 2009 CIVIC SEDAN HAD THE SAME BRAKE ISSUES AS THE 2ND ONE THAT I OWN NOW. I HAD AN ACCIDENT ON JUNE 7, 2011, THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE NORMALLY. MY PROBLEMS WITH THE CURRENT CAR STARTED ON MAY 19, 2010. I PURCHASED THE CAR ON APRIL 27, 2010. I CONTINUALLY HAVE A HARD BRAKE PEDAL ON APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES ON THE FIRST 3 OR 4 APPLICATIONS OF THE BRAKES AFTER STARTING TO DRIVE. THE DEALER CONTINUALLY CLAIMS THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AND CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM ON TEST DRIVES. AN INDEPENDENT HONDA GARAGE INSPECTED THE BRAKES 1 WEEK AGO AND DID THE HONDA BOOSTER BRAKE TEST PROCEDURE, THEY FOUND THAT THE BOOSTER HOSE/CHECK VALVE ASSY FAILED THE TEST. IT TOOK THEM 45 MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE INSPECTION WITH THE TEST. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE SAME AFTERNOON AND THEY ONLY SPENT 19 MINUTES ON THE CLOCK, HAVING THE CAR FOR 5 DAYS. THE DEALER STILL CLAIMED THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AGAIN. I DROVE THE CAR THE 2 BLOCKS TOO MY TRUCK AND THE APPLICATIONS OF THE BRAKES WERE ALL HARD PEDAL, REQUIRING HARDER PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL TO STOP THE CAR. THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR DID THE SAME THING COMING DOWN THE HILL TO THE FREEWAY. THE BRAKES SEEM TO RECOVER AFTER THE 4TH APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES. I HAVE CONTINUALLY COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT. THEY REPLACED THE BOOSTER HOSE/CHECK VALVE ON THE 1ST CAR AND THEN JUST AS I WAS REACHING THE END OF THE WARRANTY, THEY REPLACED THE BOOSTER ON THE CAR. BY THAT TIME I WAS DONE WITH THE CAR AND TRADED IT IN ON ANOTHER ONE, SAME MODEL, SAME YEAR. I FIGURED IT COULDN'T HAPPEN WITH ANOTHER ONE. SAME THING HAPPENED 3 WEEKS LATER ON THIS ONE AND SO FAR 19 INSTANCES HAVE BEEN LOGGED WITH DATES, TIME AND LOCATIONS. A RUBBING, GRINDING, METAL ON METAL NOISE FROM THE FRONT BRAKES AFTER A LITTLE OVER 19, 916 MILES. I HAD THE DEALERSHIP PERFORM AN INSPECTION OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE PADS HAVE WORN DOWN TO THE POINT WHERE METAL-TO-METAL CONTACT IS OCCURRING, MY VEHICLE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO STOP SAFELY, AND DAMAGE MAY OCCUR WHERE THE BRAKE ROTORS OR DRUMS NEED TO BE REPLACED.

THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM SNAPPED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT ACCIDENT, AND UPON INVESTIGATION I REALIZE THAT THIS IS WHAT HAS BEEN CAUSING SIGNIFICANT TIRE WEAR ON MY CAR OVER THE YEARS AS WELL AS SHAKING AND LOUD BUZZING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DIFFICULTY LOADING AND UNLOADING THE CAR DUE TO THE REAR BUMPER COMING WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING THE GROUND BECAUSE IT WAS NO LONGER BEING SUPPORTED BY THE CONTROL ARM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A SQUEAKING SOUND WHEN MAKING A TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT END SUSPENSION ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDES OF THE VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,971.

ON 8/15/11, VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO A HONDA CHICAGO FOR LOF & ROTATE. DROPPED OFF, CAME BACK, DROVE VEHICLE FOUND LOUD ROARING NOISE. TIRES WERE ROTATED THEN DISCOVERED THE TIRE THAT CAME OFF R/R WAS CUPPED. VEHICLE HAS 15K MILES, BARELY DRIVEN BY MY MOM THAT'S IN HER 60S, DOESN'T TRAVEL THE EXPRESSWAYS. HONDA CHICAGO WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING SO I MADE A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA CARE; WAS TOLD BRING IT BACK TO HONDA. DEALER AND HONDA CARE ARE USELESS, NOTHING WAS DONE SO I PAID FOR A NEW TIRE SOMEWHERE ELSE. LAST WEEK, VEHICLE BACK AT HONDA ELMHURST AND THEN TO HONDA DES PLAINES FOR A 2ND OPINION FOR SAMETHING. BOTH DEALERS STATED NOTHING WRONG BUT THE FRONT TIRES CURRENTLY HAVE 3/32S, L/R 2/32S AND R/R 6/32S. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T EVEN OFFER TIRES TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 18K MILES ON IT, A TICKING NOISE THAT COMES FOR THE VEHICLE WHEN IT'S IDLING IN REVERSE AND THE MYSTERIOUS R/R TIRE CONCERN. I CONTACTED HONDA CARE TODAY SPOKE WITH A CLAIM REP AND REQUESTED TO HAVE A HONDA REGIONAL REP OR SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE DEALERSHIP'S MECHANIC TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE SINCE IT'S BEEN TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS. I ALSO REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE R/R TIRE THAT WAS REPLACED. I WAS TOLD, "WE'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING AT THIS TIME AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN ELMHURST, IL AND TO HAVE THE SERVICE MANAGER GET INVOLVED." THE CLAIM REP ALSO STATED THAT HE SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER OF THAT SAME DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I WAS ACCELERATING TO THE POSTED SPEED OF 55 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE SUDDENLY CHANGED LANE AND PULLED IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I HIT THE BRAKES, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME STIFF AND THE BRAKES COULD NOT BE APPLIED. I HAD TO PUMP 2 OR 3 TIMES AND TRIED DIFFERENT AMOUNT OF FORCE. I BARELY ESCAPED ACCIDENT. THE PROBLEM BECOMES MUCH WORSE IN COLD WEATHER AND ON SNOW AND ICE. I ENCOUNTERED STIFF BRAKE PEDAL PROBLEM AT LEAST 100 TIMES BETWEEN DECEMBER 2012 & MARCH 2013 ON RT 83 BETWEEN OAKBROOK AND WILLOWBROOK (SUBURBS OF CHICAGO, IL). THE TRAFFIC AT RUSH HOUR CAN BE STOP AND GO, AND BRAKES NEED TO BE APPLIED AT LEAST DOZENS OF TIME IN A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 7 MILES. I USED ALL OF MY SAFE DRIVING SKILLS, AND STARTED KEEPING MUCH GREATER DISTANCE FROM THE CARS AHEAD. IT WAS SCARY. THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. THE IGNITION AND LOCK COMPONENTS HAVE WORN OUT.THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS COMPLETELY BROKEN AND THE IGNITION IS HAVING PROBLEMS. THE CAR ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS NOT STANDARD HONDA WORKMANSHIP, AND THE DEALER SUGGESTS HAVING THE ENTIRE CAR REKEYED WHICH COSTS ABOUT THE SAME AS THE CAR IS WORTH. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE WITH A FAULTY COMPONENT TO BEGIN WITH.

DROVE 50 MILES FROM MONTCLAIR CA (HOME) TO UCI MEDICAL CENTER ORANGE CA, ON HIGHWAYS 60 AND 57. MY WIFE, A STROKE PATIENT HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE UCI NEUROLOGIST. WHEN ARRIVED AT THE INDOOR PARKING ENTRANCE, I MADE A LEFT TURN SLOWLY TO ENTER THE INDOOR PARKING FACILITY OF THE MEDICAL CENTER. SUDDENLY, THE LEFT AXLE SHATTERED AND THE CAR CAME TO SUDDEN HALT. BALL BEARINGS AND PIECES OF METAL WERE ON THE FLOOR. TOWED TO HARDING HONDA, ANAHEIM, CA FACILITY. THEY REPLACED AXLE. ON TEST DRIVE, MECHANIC REPORTED NOISE IN THE RIGHT HAND AXLE AS WELL. FEARING IT MIGHT BREAK ON HIGHWAY, I HAD IT REPLACED ALSO. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK. IF IT HAD HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY, IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MULTIPLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. MY CAR WAS DRIVEN ONLY 54157 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

I would inhale antifreeze three to four hours a day driving back and forth to work. This is a health crisis because it's deadly. THE CAR OVERHEATED ON THE FREEWAY WITH LEAKING COOLANT AT ABOUT 138K MILES. IT WAS FOUND THAT IT IS A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK NEAR THE WATERPUMP. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THE VIN NUMBER AT HONDA. WE ARE JUST OUTSIDE THE 10 YR MARK BY 7 MONTHS (PURCHASED USED 1 WK OUTSIDE OF THE 10 YR MARK).

CRACK IN ENGINE BLOCK - DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, CAME TO STOPLIGHT AND NOTICED STEAM COMING FROM ENGINE AND OVERHEATED. STOPPED TO LOOK UNDER HOOD, SMELLED OF COOLANT. CHECKED HOSES, CLAMPS, RADIATOR.... EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE. BOUGHT A GALLON OF COOLANT, POURED DIRECTLY INTO RADIATOR. IT NEEDED THE WHOLE GALLON. IT DID NOT OVERHEAT AFTER REFILLING COOLANT, BUT THE NEXT DAY THE ENGINE STARTED RATTLING AND RUNNING POORLY. I COULD NOT DRIVE OVER 50MPH. I TOOK TO HONDA DEALER, THEY SAID IT IS CRACK IN ENGINE BLOCK, KNOWN PROBLEM WITH '06-'09 HONDAS BUT OUT OF WARRANTY, SO THEY WILL NOT REPLACE ENGINE.

I BOUGHT A SET OF CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT TIRES 205/55/16 FOR A HONDA CIVIC. ON 12-12-13 AND DROVE TO HARRISONBURG VA ABOUT 200 MILES ON 12-17-13. THAT NIGHT THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIT UP SINCE IT WAS LATE WE WAITED UNTIL MORNING TO CHECK THE TIRE AT WHICH TIME IT WAS FLAT. EMBEDDED IN THE TIRE WAS A WIRE GOING FROM NEAR THE WHEEL ALONG THE SIDEWALL TOWARD THE TREAD. IT WAS ABOUT 5 INCHES IN LENGTH AND ABOUT 0.125 INCHES IN DIAMETER. BOTH ENDS WERE IN THE TIRE AND THERE APPEARED TO BE A SLICE IN THE SIDEWALL BENEATH THE WIRE. WENT TO WALMART WHERE THE TIRE WAS EXAMINED, THEY PULLED ONE END OUT BUT THE OTHER DIDN'T BUDGE. HAD TO GO TO ANOTHER STORE FOR THE REPLACEMENT. THEY WERE ALSO NOT ABLE TO PULL THE WIRE OUT. UPON RETURNING HOME I TOOK THE DAMAGED TIRE TO THE STORE IT WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED FROM. THEY CONTACTED CONTINENTAL AND I RECEIVED A FULL REFUND AND THE TIRE WAS RETURNED TO CONTINENTAL. UPON EXAMINATION IT SEEMED THAT THE WIRE WAS EMBEDDED IN THE TIRE DURING MANUFACTURE AS EVIDENCED BY THE "SLICE" IN THE SIDEWALL FROM WHICH THE WIRE EMERGED WHILE DRIVING LEADING TO AIR LOSS, THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF PULLING THE WIRE FROM THE WHEEL AREA AND THE ABSENCE OF PENETRATION OF THE WIRE ON THE WHEEL ASPECT.. I DO HAVE PHOTOS OF THE WIRE AND SIDEWALL AND TIRE INTERIOR SHOWING THE ABOVE. MY STRONG FEELING, AND THAT OF THE ORIGINAL TIRE SHOP, WAS THAT THE WIRE WAS MOLDED INTO THE TIRE DURING MANUFACTURE. THE DIAMETER OF THE WIRE WAS MUCH GREATER THAN STEEL MESH WIRE. MOST LIKELY THE WIRE WAS FORCED TO THE SURFACE AS A CONSEQUENCE OF TIRE COMPRESSION DURING THE DRIVE. I ALMOST FEEL THAT IT WAS INTENTIONALLY ADDED TO THE MOLD BECAUSE OF THE LENGTH AND POSITION AS WELL AS THE DIAMETER. *TR

I HAVE A 2009 HONDA CIVIC. HEARD HORRIBLE NOISE COMING FROM TIRES. HAD THEM ROTATED TO SEE IF THAT WOULD FIX PROBLEM. IT JUST GOT LOUDER SO I TOOK IT INTO FOR DIAGNOSTICS. WAS ADVISED I HAD CUPPED TIRES AND NEEDED 4 NEW TIRES AND AN ALIGNMENT. I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AND HAD ALIGNMENT DONE. ON THE ALIGNMENT REPORT WAS ADVISED THAT THE RIGHT REAR CAMBER AND RIGHT FRONT CAMBER WERE OUT OF SPECS, AS WELL AS THE REAR LEFT CAMBER IS JUST IN SPEC. PHONED HONDA TOLD THEM OF ISSUE, WAS ADVISED THEY DO NOT REPAIR SUCH A THING AND THAT DRIVING ON CUPPED TIRES IS FINE. I CALLED HONDA , SPOKE TO WAS ADVISED IT WAS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE AND THAT WOULD DO A TOE AT MY EXPENSE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED HOW MUCH OF AN ISSUE THIS IS, IN FACT A CLASS ACTION SUIT HAS BEEN FILED IN THE STATES. BOUGHT THE 2009 HONDA CIVIC JANUARY 2016. WITHIN WEEKS I DEVELOPED A SORE HIP AND THEN PAIN DOWN MY LEG TO MY KNEE. MOST UNCOMFORTABLE SEAT I EVER SAT IN. I TRIED USING A CUSHION. THE HEADRESTS IN THIS VEHICLE CANNOT BE ADJUSTED TO THE PROPER HEIGHT FOR A SHORTER FEMALE (APPROX. BELOW 5'2"). ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, THE CENTER OF THE HEADREST SHOULD BE INLINE WITH THE CENTER OF THE OCCUPANTS HEAD. FOR A SHORTER PERSON, THE HEADREST CANNOT BE LOWERED TO THE PROPER POSITION. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY THE SHAPE OF THE HEADREST. IN THE LOWEST POSITION THE HEADREST PUSHES FORWARD ON THE OCCUPANTS UPPER HEAD FORCING THE OCCUPANTS CHIN DOWN. I OWN A 2009 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. THE HYBRID SYSTEM RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING (LEAVING ONLY THE UNDERPOWERED GASOLINE ENGINE AS THE MEANS TO POWER THE CAR). THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE ISSUE IN DECEMBER. THEY PERFORMED AN IRREVERSIBLE SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH HAS, AS A RESULT, MADE THE HYBRID SYSTEM WORK ONLY INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER STATES THERE IS NO WAY TO REVERSE THIS CHANGE. AS A RESULT, THE HYBRID BATTERY/MOTOR ASSIST WILL SUDDENLY STOP WORKING DURING AN ACCELERATION (FOR INSTANCE MERGING ON THE FREEWAY) WITH A DRAMATIC LOSS OF POWER. STEPPING MORE ON THE ACCELERATOR INCREASES RPMS TO 4-5,000 BUT DOES NOT RESULT IN ANY SIGNIFICANT POWER TO THE CAR. NOT EVEN A WEEK AGO, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE NEW DRIVER SIDE VISOR. I CALLED HONDA, TOOK IT TO THEM TODAY (08/15/2013). THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME 95 DOLLARS!!!! REALLY?!!! THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THESE VISORS. I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH AND PLENTY OF PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. THE SUN VISORS ON THE CAR ARE BUILT POORLY AND THE PLASTIC WILL SPLIT, CAUSING THE SUN VISOR TO FAIL. THE CENTER 3RD BRAKE LIGHT STOPPED WORKING. SINCE IT'S AN LED ARRAY AND NOT A NORMAL LIGHT BULB IT COSTS OVER $200 TO REPLACE. ALSO, IT CAN ONLY BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. FROM SEARCHING THE INTERNET THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. AN LED ARRAY SHOULD NOT FAIL. BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE HONDA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE UNITS.

I OWN A 2009 HONDA CIVIC 4-DR SEDAN THAT HAS A PROBLEM WITH ICE AND SNOW ACCUMULATING ON THE WHEEL IN AS LITTLE AS A 2 INCH SNOWFALL CONDITION. THIS ICE AND SNOW ACCUMULATION CAUSES THE FRONT WHEELS TO BE OUT-OF-BALANCE AND RESULT IN VIBRATIONS THAT MAKE THE VEHICLE UNCONTROLLABLE IN SPEEDS GREATER THAT 50 MPH. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE THAT HAS 20,000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE NOW USED IT DURING TWO WINTERS. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND STOPPING TO PARK, WE SMELLED THE SCENT OF GASOLINE. BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND A "FLAW" WHERE THE GAS NOZZEL/NECK CONNECTION (OR WELD) TO THE MAIN GAS TANK WAS SLOWLY LEAKING GAS. THE SERVICE PERSON AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP HAD NEVER SEEN THAT KIND OF FLAW OR DEFECT BEFORE. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT WE ORDER A NEW GAS TANK WITH THE GAS NOZZEL/NECK CONNECTOR. I'M THINKING THE WELD BETWEEN THE TWO PARTS MAY BE A WEAK LINK ON CARS SIMILAR TO OURS AND WANT TO REPORT IT.

FUEL TANK DOES NOT SEEM TO FILL ALL THE WAY, AND SOMETIMES A FUEL ODER IS PRESENT. ONLINE SEARCH MENTIONED THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN #11-036 FOR THIS CODE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON 8/19/16 AS PART OF THE AIRBAG RECALL. DEALER MENTIONED THERE IS NO RECALL FOR P2422, AND THERE IS NO EMISSIONS WARRANTY THAT COVERS THIS ISSUE.

2009 HONDA CIVIC GX HAS AN INTERMITTENT COLD START / HARD START / NO START PROBLEM. IT CAN TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 30 SECONDS TO EIGHT MINUTES TO GET THE CAR TO STARTED. ON A FEW OCCASIONS I GAVE UP TRYING TO START THE CAR AND DROVE MY TRUCK INSTEAD. ORIGINALLY THE PROBLEM WAS OCCURRING ABOUT ONCE A WEEK TO ONCE A MONTH. I HAVE HAD THE CAR DIE WHILE DRIVING AND WOULDN'T RESTART. SINCE JAN 25TH 2012 MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE HONDA DEALER FOR A TOTAL OF NEARLY 12 WEEKS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER HAS HAD MY CAR FOR THE LAST 9 WEEKS STRAIGHT AND HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE STARTING PROBLEMS. CURRENTLY IT WILL NOT START ABOUT 50 PERCENT OF THE TIME. MY VEHICLE WAS AT MY MECHANICS FOR AN OIL CHANGE. PART OF THEIR SERVICE IS TO CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE. A TIRE WAS A LITTLE LOW. UPON PLACING THE AIR CHUCK ON THE VALVE STEM, THE VALVE STEM EXPLODED. HONDA AND THE DEALERSHIP BOTH REFUSED TO REPAIR AT NO CHARGE. CLAIMING THAT THE MECHANIC WAS AT FAULT. NOTE THAT THE MECHANIC WHO WAS OPERATING THE PROPER AIR CHUCK AT MY REPAIR SHOP IS HONDA CERTIFIED AND ONLY USED A SHALLOW AIR CHUCK. HONDA HAS A PRINTED BROCHURE IN THEIR SHOW ROOM THAT EXPLICTLY STATES THAT A DRIVER MUST GO TO A DEALERSHIP OR ANYWHERE THAT AIR IS AVAILABLE AND FILL TO THE PROPER PRESSURE WHEN THE TPMS LIGHT COMES ON. MOST AIR FILL PLACES AT GAS STATIONS HAVE THE LONG HANDLE VERSION OF THE AIR CHUCK, WHICH IN THE SERVICE BULLETIN IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED! NOT ONLY DID HONDA REFUSE TO REPAIR AT NO CHARGE, THEY ALSO CHARGED US FOR A FRONT END ANALYSIS. $175.00 BECAUSE OF A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART. MY WIFE REFUSED TO DRIVE THE CAR ON THE INTERSTATE OR TO GO ABOVE 50 MPH AFTER THAT BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL OF A ROCK OR SOME OTHER OBJECT HITTING THE VALVE STEM. WE HAD MANY TRIPS WHERE WE HAD TO USE MY 1990 JEEP INSTEAD OF THE HONDA AT EXTRA EXPENSE. WE RECENTLY WERE FINALLY ABLE TO GET RID OF THE HONDA AND PURCHASED A 2013 HYUNDAI ELANTRA LIMITED. While driving, the hood prop rod dislodged from its securing clip and fell onto the positive terminal of the battery. This caused an electrical short, which led to the rod heating up rapidly and igniting a fire under the hood. The fire damaged the headlight assembly and the surrounding trim panel, though the wiring fortunately did not catch fire. A nearby police officer was able to extinguish the fire before it spread further. This incident posed a serious safety risk and could have resulted in more extensive damage or injury. There were no warning lights or symptoms before the failure. The issue appears to stem from the design or failure of the clip that holds the hood prop rod in place. The vehicle has not been modified and was being driven under normal conditions. A local auto body shop inspected the vehicle afterward and confirmed that the loose prop rod made contact with the battery terminal, creating a serious fire hazard. They advised reporting this as a safety issue. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. The incident was witnessed by a police officer, and the damage was evaluated by an independent repair shop following the fire.

Car accelerated into a garage door unintentionally. The brakes did not work. The problem has not been reproduced. The car was taken to a honda dealer twice before the accident for the same reasons of sudden unintentional acceleration. The vehicle has been totaled and has not been inspected by anyone. There were no warning indicators that I am aware of.

In all cases the car lurched foward. This has never happened in any of the other cars that i have driven and continue to drive. Now with this honda it has happened 3 times.

THE SECOND VISOR NOT ONLY SPLIT AT THE SEAM BUT CAME LOOSE AT THE HINGE AND FLEW PAST MY FACE WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN APRIL 2016. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN THE 7-YEAR PERIOD BUT BECAUSE I MISREAD THE WARRANTY I KEPT PUTTING OFF THE REPLACEMENT UNTIL AFTER IT EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN WAUKESHA WIS. ON 11-28-2008. ONE YR. AFTER PURCHASE WE NOTICED THE ENGINE WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE, WHEN BACKING UP, BRAKING. THE ENGINE WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE DRIVER WOULD NEED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH GREATER FORCE, AND THEN SHIFT AUTO. TRANS INTO NEUTRAL. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER 3 SEPARATE TIMES, AND THEY INDICATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. ON ONE OCCASION PER THEIR SUGGESTION WE PURCHASED THE RUBBER ALL WEATHER HONDA FLOOR MATS AT A COST OF $110.00. I DOUBTED THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. IN NOVEMBER 2011 THE SAME PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED A FOURTH TIME IN A PARKING LOT. WHILE WAITING IN A PARKING LOT THE ENGINE ACCELERATED SUDDENLY, AND MORE PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP OF THE CONTINUING PROBLEM. ON 11-29-2011 WE LEFT THE CIVIC AT THE DEALER, AND WAYNE NICKLAS THE (AHM) WOULD ALSO EXAMINE THE CAR WITH A MECHANIC. THE MILEAGE WAS 26,526. MR. NICKLAS MET WITH US. HE EXPLAINED HOW THEY CHECKED THE TIRE DEPTH, PRESSURE, AND THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE CAR. I THEN ASKED FOR SPECIFICS ABOUT THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION, AND HE INDICATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO MR. NICKLAS, THERE WAS NO ABNORMAL ENGINE CODE, AND IT WAS POSSIBLE THAT THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR LONG ENOUGH FOR THE COMPUTER TO RECORD IT. HE DENIED OTHER SIMILAR PROBLEMS REPORTED WITH CIVICS. WE FOUND SIMILAR CONSUMER COMPLAINTS FILED ON WEB SITES WITH CIVICS INVOLVED IN ACCIDENTS. IT WAS SUGGESTED WE TRADE IN THE VEHICLE. WE FELT UNSAFE IN CONTINUING TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE. THE HONDA DEALER LEFT US HANGING, AND OFFERED US NO FURTHER HELP WITH TRADING IN THE VEHICLE. WE INCURRED A SUBSTANTIAL LOSS WHEN WE TRADED IN THE CIVIC AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHERE THEY DETERMINED A RODENT HAD DAMAGED A CABLE. ALSO, THE TRUNK FAILED TO OPEN ON COMMAND, THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DETAILED WHICH CAUSED THE PROTECTIVE GASKET TO LOSE ITS PROTECTIVE LUBRICANT. SO WE TOOK THE CAR HOME AFTER THE ALIGNMENT AND TOLD THE TIRE SHOP THAT THEY NEEDED TO PROVIDE US WITH A NEW TIRE. THE TIRE SHOP MANAGER WAS VERY , VERY ANGRY. AFTER PUTTING 19,111 HIGHWAY MILEAGE ON MY 2009 HONDA CIVIC DX, I WAS TOLD BY MY HONDA DEALER THAT I NEEDED NEW FRONT BRAKES. I DID AS I WAS TOLD, AND PURCHASED MY BRAKES FOR $226.39. THIS REPAIR WAS DONE IN AUGUST OF 2010. 8 MONTHS LATER AT 34,189 MILES, I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED NEW FRONT BRAKES AGAIN. I WAS FURIOUS AND UPSET, BECAUSE I RECENTLY GOT MY BRAKES REPLACED. I MADE A COMPLAIN TO THE STORE MANAGER, AND HE WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I ENDED UP PAYING ANOTHER $229 TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES. MY 2009 (AUTOMATIC) HONDA CIVIC EX SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL FOUR DURING THE NIGHT. FOR THE FIRST THREE TIMES, THE DRIVER WOULD ALLOW THE RPM'S TO DROP CAUSING US TO SIT IN TRAFFIC FOR AN UNDEFINED PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE RETURNING THE CAR TO THE DRIVE POSITION. ON THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAPPENED, DRIVER AND I WERE IN A LARGE PARKING LOT MAKING A RIGHT TURN WITH A BUILDING ABOUT A FOOTBALL FIELD AWAY. ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN, THE CAR WAS PLACED BACK INTO DRIVE FROM NEUTRAL AND IT BEGAN TO DRIVE ITSELF. AS THE CAR ACCELERATED FASTER AND FASTER THE DRIVER TRIED TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES MANY TIMES WITHOUT THE PEDAL EVEN BUDGING OR THE CAR SLOWING DOWN IN THE SLIGHTEST WAY. WHEN WE TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IT LOCKED UP IN A STRAIGHT AWAY POSITION, CAUSING THE CAR TO HIT AT LEAST TWO LARGE CURBED MEDIANS AND GO AIRBORNE EACH TIME. BOUGHT 2009 HONDA CIVIC WITH 5 MILES ON IT. HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS WHERE THE CAR WILL NOT CRANK OVER OR "CATCH". BROUGHT IT TO DEALERS ATTENTION AND THEY HAD THE CAR IN FOR 2 DAYS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THEY WENT THROUGH THE CAR AND REPLACED "SOMETHING" BUT I WAS NOT TOLD WHAT IT WAS NOR WAS I GIVEN PAPER WORK. CAR SEEMED TO BE FINE FOR THE SUMMER. NOW THAT WEATHER IS COOLING OFF, CAR IS EXPERIENCING SAME INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS. CALL DEALER TO REPORT IT AGAIN AND WAS ASKED IF THE CAR HAD GAS IN IT.....SERIOUSLY? I RESPONDED YES AND THAT IT WAS THE 2 ND TIME IN 4 DAYS THAT IT WOULD NOT START, SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WHEN THE CAR SITS FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS. CAR WILL NOT CRANK OVER AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. I CURRENTLY AM THE LESSEE OF A 2009 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID STARTING THIS JANUARY, THE HYBRID BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL GOES FROM ALMOST FULL (8-10 OUT OF 10 BARS) TO VIRTUALLY ZERO (1 BAR) EVERY OTHER WEEK (THE TECHNICAL TERM FOR THIS IS A "RECALL" OR RECALIBRATING). THIS SUMMER, IT STARTED HAPPENING EVERY 3-4 DAYS, AND WHENEVER I HAD THE A/C ON. THEN, IT STARTED TO HAPPEN EVERY 100 MILES (WHICH MADE IT VERY PREDICTABLE). THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN IN THE 'RECALL' STATE, THE CAR IS ALMOST UNRESPONSIVE AND DOES NOT ACCELERATE MUCH, IF AT ALL. THIS POSES A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS WHEN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAS A BLIND SPOT, OR IS COMING AROUND A CORNER. IT ALSO IMPACTS FUEL EFFICIENCY SUBSTANTIALLY. I HAVE SEEN ABOUT A 7 MILE-PER-GALLON DROP IN FUEL ECONOMY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHO TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE NO CODES IN THE SYSTEM BUT THERE WERE 3 SOFTWARE UPDATES, SO THEY INSTALLED THOSE AND THAT IF I STILL HAD THE PROBLEM, TO COME BACK. I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM SO I SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT AND I TAKE THE MECHANIC FOR A TEST DRIVE AND HE SEES THE CHARGE DROP RAPIDLY AND STATES THAT IT'S COMPLETELY NORMAL. I ARGUE THAT IS HAPPENS TOO OFTEN AND HE STILL SAYS "IT'S FINE." ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER THE IMA LIGHT AND 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT COME ON. TURNS OUT, IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE (FOR THE A/C ELECTRIC DRIVE, FUSE #22) SO THEY REPLACE IT, AND TELL ME THAT THEY CHECKED THE CURRENT DRAW ON THE A/C JUST TO BE SAFE AND CLAIMED EVERYTHING WAS FINE. NOW, ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER, EVERY TIME I START THE CAR IT DOES A RECALL. THIS IS BEYOND ANNOYING AND NOW I'M STARTING TO SEE DROPS OF ABOUT 10 MPG BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, AS OPPOSED TO THE PREVIOUS 6 OR 7. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES TO ADDRESS THIS CONCERN. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE PULLING RESULTS IN AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING MYSELF AND/OR MY WIFE WITH CHILD. HONDA HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ROOT OF THE PULLING PROBLEM. EFFORTS HAVE INVOLVED CREATING A FORMAL CASE WITH AMERICAN HONDA. TETSUO IWAMURA, THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF AMERICAN HONDA NOTIFYING HIM OF MY CONCERNS. I AM REALLY IN NEED OF ANY SUPPORT NHTSA CAN PROVIDE IN RESOLVING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. PRESENTLY, I DRIVE IN EXCESS OF ONE-HUNDRED (100) MILES DAILY. AND, MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH THE INTENT OF HER USING THIS AS THE FAMILY VEHICLE IN THE NOT TO DISTANT FUTURE. ALSO, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHERE THE CD PLAYER IS GETS REALLY HOT. THE DEALER TELLS ME IT IS OK, THERE IS NO PROBLEM. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE AS I DON'T WANT TO BE ON THE HWY WITH MY FAMILY AND THE CAR CATCHES ON FIR OR SOMETHING. HOW COULD THIS BE NORMAL. PLEASE HELP. *TR

I WAS DRIVING WEST BOUND ON I-84 IN DANBURY CT, IN THE LEFT HAND LANE. IT FELT AS IF I HAD HIT SOMETHING. THE CAR VEERED INTO THE GUARDRAIL, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS RIPPED OFF THE CAR, I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY - BREAK DOWN LANE. I FELT HEAT UNDER MY SEAT, I IMMEDIATELY GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE, WITH IN 3 - 5 MINUTES THE CAR WAS FULL ENGULFED IN FLAMES. *TR

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2009 HONDA CIVIC LX IN DECEMBER OF 2008. IN MARCH 2009, ONLY 3 MONTHS AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE AND ONLY 3,000KM TOTAL ON THE VEHICLE, I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING AN INCONSISTENT AND DISCONCERTING PROBLEM AFTER DRIVING THIS CAR OFF THE LOT. THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO HAVE AN INTERMITTENT STARTING ISSUE WHERE ON RANDOM OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. ONCE TRYING TO START IT, IT CRANKS, LIKE IT IS TRYING TO TURN OVER TO START FOR A RANGE OF 5-15 SECONDS. IT EVENTUALLY STARTS ON THE 2ND OR 3RD ATTEMPT. I HAVE CONSULTED IN THE DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. AFTER 2 MONTHS OF TAKING THE CAR IN, THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA CANADA WANTED TO INSTALL A COMPUTER RECORDER ON MY CAR TO TRY TO GET THE PROBLEM RECORDED, SINCE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE NOISE. AFTER HAVE THE RECORDER INSTALLED FOR JUST OVER A MONTH, THE PROBLEM FINALLY REPRODUCED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY TOOK OUT THE MONITOR TO HAVE IT SEND FOR AN ANALYSIS. I HAD MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS THE WORST ONE, BECAUSE NOT ONLY DID IT CRANK FOR ABOUT 8 SECONDS, IT JUST DIED - DID NOT CATCH OR KEEP CRANKING. I CALLED 2 WEEKS AFTER TO GET AN UPDATE IN WHICH I DID NOT GET A RESPONSE AFTER LEAVING A MESSAGE FOR GEORGE (HEAD OF SERVICE). I CALLED AGAIN 2 WEEKS LATER IN WHICH GEORGE STATED HE HAD HEARD BACK A FEW DAYS PRIOR BUT WAS TOO "BUSY" TO CALL ME. HE STATED THAT THE RECORDER SAID IT WAS 8 SECONDS AND STARTED, AND 2 TIMES WHERE IS WAS 5 SECONDS AND STARTED. HE THEN TOLD ME IF I WAS NOT HAPPY TO DEAL WITH HEAD OFFICE AND WE WOULD CONTACT TECH SUPPORT. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM GEORGE, 2 BUSINESS DAYS LATER, AFTER TRYING TO CONTACT HIM. I SPOKE WITH HEAD OFFICE WHO TOLD ME THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR MY CAR NOT TO START. I AM STILL IN THE DARK AS TO WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE, AND I'M TIRED OF SPECULATING. FOR ALL I KNOW IT COULD BE THE OEM BATTERY WITH THE INSUFFICIENT COLD-CRANKING AMP RATINGS, THE MAIN FUEL RELAY OR A FAULTY CAM/CRANK SENSOR. *TR

SUDDEN ACCELERATION SURGE, TO THE POINT OF HAVING TO COMPLETELY HOLD THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET. AT ONE POINT, AFTER PUTTING CAR INTO NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE REVVED TO 7000 RPM BEFORE OWNER COULD TURN CAR OFF. THE INITIAL SURGING RESULTED IN THE OWNER'S WIFE HITTING HER PASSENGER MIRROR AGAINST ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THE ENGINE SURGED WHILE IN REVERSE. THERE WAS NO CATEGORY FOR THE VEHICLE ECU, WHICH IS QUITE SUSPECT AT THIS POINT. *TR
