The contact owns a 2010 Honda Civic. The contact stated while her daughter was driving 20 MPH, the driver-side air bag curtain deployed without any impact, causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle and struck the curb on the passenger side. The inside of the vehicle was damaged due to the deployment of the air bag. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home. The contact was severely injured and had to seek medical attention. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated that the air bag deploy because she struck the curb. The failure mileage was 142,000.

I purchased a used Honda Civic last summer. This year I started receiving recall notices. I did not respond until the notice told me that they could provide a loaner because I don't have a ride to drop off and pick up the vehicle. I have made at least 4 attempts over the last couple of months to remedy the airbag situation, but the Honda representatives were not willing to set up a loaner vehicle. Then when they finally seemed like it would happen, I was told that I don't have the right insurance and they won't do it for that reason. I know the company needs to fix millions of these air bags and are trying to save money but, I need them to fix mine too. Now they say they can't accommodate my situation. I am asking Honda to please fix my airbag. The attached flyer states that it is dangerous and deadly and that they would do it. Thank you

Airbag deployed unexpectedly while I was driving through a construction zone - I think it was right when I drove onto a metal construction plate. This would have been very bad if a car was right behind me. I do not have the car for inspection, since due to the cost of replacing the airbag system my insurance declared it a total loss and picked it up for salvage although the car was otherwise in great working condition with no other damage. However I have many pictures of my car from all angles that were taken for insurance purposes. No one else inspected the car in person before it was picked up since my insurance wanted to do a virtual inspection. There were zero warnings of the problem before it happened.

I BOUGHT MY HONDA CIVIC BRAND NEW IN 2010 AND I HAD TO CHANGE BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKES THREE TIMES ALREADY, AND NOW I NEED TO CHANGE MY FRONT DISC AND BRAKES AGAIN! I ALSO HAVE MACHINE TURNED THE ROTORS ONCE AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FRONT ROTORS BECAUSE RECENTLY ON HIGHWAY DRIVING, WHEN I NEED TO USE MY BRAKES, THE CAR WOBBLES AND SHAKES. I WAS TOLD BY AN AUTO MECHANIC THAT IT'S MY FRONT ROTORS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. I ONLY HAVE A LITTLE OVER 58,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING! MY SON HAS A 2009 HONDA CIVIC AND HE ONLY HAD TO CHANGE HIS BRAKES ONCE SINCE BUYING THE CAR NEW!! I UNDERSTAND THERE'S LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2010 CIVIC'S BRAKES AND THIS HAS TO BE A RECALL THAT HONDA NEED TO ADDRESS! LIKE I KEEP READING...I'VE HAD TO REPLACE MY BRAKES ON MY CIVIC MULTIPLE TIMES TOO. THIS IS MY FIRST HONDA, BUT I HAVE HAD VW, TOYOTA/SCION AND I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS WITH MY BRAKES, SO I KNOW IT IS NOT DUE TO MY DRIVING ABILITIES. IF I KNEW ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL BRAKE EXPENSE THAT I WOULD INCUR, I WOULD HAVE NOT PURCHASED A HONDA PRODUCT.

I recently read about NHTSA ID Number: 11469938 It made me realize I have the same problem although not as bad. My driver side sun visor is split at the seam. This causes it to hang slightly lower but does not completely block my view of the road. I have never had it inspected/replaced, but after reading about the complaint case above, I am worried the same may happen to my visor in the future (i.e. visor will flop down and block my view of the road).

The sun visor keeps splitting at the seam. When that happens it'll no longer hold itself in place and it will flop down blocking my view. At this point I've replaced both sun visors 3 times since I bought the car, about once every 3 years in the summer. This started happening at about 80,000 miles. Whatever adhesive Honda is using to put these together don't hold up in the heat. You can feel the visors getting soft and bending in the heat until it inevitably breaks. It can't be usage either since both the driver and passenger side fail at about the same rate and the passenger sun visor rarely gets used.

WIPER BLADES MAKES LOUD RUBBING NOISE, BECAUSE WIPER ARMS ARE PRESSED VERY HARD AGAINST WINDSHIELD CAUSING FRICTION BETWEEN THE BLADES AND WINDSHIELD. I INSTALLED NEW WIPERS FROM SAM'S CLUB, STILL LOUD NOISE IS NOT GOING AWAY. THIS PROBLEM EXISTED EVER SINCE I BOUGHT BRAND NEW CIVIC IN 2010, BUT DUE TO LIGHT USAGE MOSTLY IN DRY DAYS, I IGNORED THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN RAIN OR SNOW DUE TO POORLY DESIGNED WIPER ARMS OR WIPER ASSEMBLY. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN 54,000 MILES SINCE 2010.

IN 2012 I PURCHASED A 2010 HONDA CIVIC EX COUPE. I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SUN VISORS BREAKING. AT FIRST MY WARRANTY COVERED THE COST AND THEN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF $150.00 EACH TIME I HAD TO REPLACE. THE ISSUE IS THE SAFETY OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE IN THE SUN LIGHT OR THE EVENING, DUE TO THE BROKEN SUN VISORS DANGLING IN MY LINE OF SIGHT. ENCLOSED ARE PICTURES OF THE BROKEN SUN VISORS PASS AND PRESENT. I WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACING THE DRIVERS SIDE ONCE AGAIN FOR MY SAFETY, DUE TO THE SHARP POINTY OBJECT BY MY HEAD WHERE THE SUN VISOR WAS ATTACHED TO. I DID CALL HONDA CORP AND REPORT THE ISSUE ONLY AGAIN AND THE SAFETY ISSUE OF THE POINT OBJECT BY MY HEAD. I TOOK MY HONDA TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SUN VISOR. BOTH THE SERVICE PERSON AND MECHANIC HAD TO CAREFUL PLACE THEMSELVES IN MY HONDA TO ENSURE THEY DID NOT POKE THE HEAD ON THE SHARP POINTY OBJECT.

SUN VISOR IN 2010 HONDA CIVIC BROKEN. THE PLASTIC IS CRACKED AT THE SEAM AND THE MECHANISM INSIDE THE VISOR CANNOT WORK PROPERLY. VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE IN EITHER UP OR DOWN POSITION. VISOR FALLS INTO LINE OF VISION DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. FAILS TO BLOCK THE SUN WHEN NECESSARY. HONDA REFUSES TO FIX THE VISOR. A NEW VISOR IS $95 EXCLUDING LABOR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS BEFORE AND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.

The paint on this blue Honda Civic 2010 has been wearing away for years. There’s chips of paint missing on the hood. There is paint wear on the roof in two wide strips, on the trunk all over and the fenders. Also, the roof, when washed by auto carwash, buckles in when being dried so you can tell metal is thin. There’s definitely a defect in these civics I see them all over the place and every blue one almost has worn paint just like mine! Honda had to have done something wrong with these paint jobs, they should repaint them for free!

Paint has been peeling for at least 3 years and body shop told me Honda has major issues with paint on many years of vehicles. My vehicle has been serviced many times at the dealer where was purchased and no one, not dealer or Honda themselves have notified me of such re-call or warranty of this particular issue.

I had my paint recall fixed on my 2010 Honda Civic at a local Honda dealership. They had it for 4 weeks without any loaner car, and now the paint in peeling off my car. The body doesn’t seem to be put back together correctly. The rubber were the body fits together is coming apart.

UNKNOWN The paint on the top of the car and the trunk has peeled off and creates condition for rusting of the metal parts. This in time jeopardies the structural integrity of the car especially in accidents. I have see description of number of Honda Civics with this problem.

I CONTACTED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ON THE PAINT/ TSB AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS EXPIRED.. I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS. DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR POPPED/EXPLODED OPEN. THIS HAPPENED DURING SUMMER MONTHS WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS HIGHER. BEFORE SUN VISOR EXPLODED OPEN, IT HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED OR MOVED FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND WAS IN DORMANT POSITION (NON-USE). CAR WAS NOT IN USE AND WAS PARKED IN PRIVATE HOME DRIVEWAY WHICH HAD BEEN STATIONED THERE BETWEEN 20-24 HOURS. HAD CAR BEEN IN MOTION I BELIEVE THIS COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISKS. AFTER VISOR EXPLODES OPEN IT WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO BE SET IN DORMANT POSITION AND COULD BLOCK VISION OR HIT DRIVER. PIECES COULD ALSO DISLODGE AND HIT DRIVER.

PURCHASED THIS CIVIC IN JUNE 2010 AND JUST PUT THE SECOND SET OF PADS ON THIS WEEK. FIRST SET AT 21,000. 19,000 MILES AND ONLY 9 MONTHS OF HIGHWAY DRIVING BETWEEN REPLACEMENT PADS. UNEVEN PREMATURE WEAR ON THE LEFT INNER PAD INDICATING THAT THE PADS ARE REMAINING IN CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR. ALSO EXPERIENCING A BURNING SMELL. RIGHT SIDE PADS ARE ALMOST NEW. PERSONAL MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CALIPER AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER THE FIRST TIME. I DID AND IT "WAS NORMAL WEAR". THE FIRST SUNVISOR BROKE JUST BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. IT WASN'T MUCH OF PROBLEM TO GET IT REPLACED. ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE SECOND SUNVISOR BROKE AND CAME OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. AFTER CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA THE SUNVISOR WAS REPLACED FOR 17.00. HOWEVER, I REFRAIN FROM USING IT BECAUSE I WORRY THAT IT WILL FALL APART AGAIN. BOTH TIMES IT WAS THE SUNVISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. LAST WEEK THE SUNVISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BROKE. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 142,000 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 258,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Honda Civic. The contact stated that upon attempting to register the vehicle with his insurance company, he discovered that the VIN on the vehicle and the VIN listed in their private messages were different. The vehicle was a private sale through Facebook Messenger. The contact attempted to reach out to the seller, but the contact stated that his number was blocked. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was approximately 133,000. Upon investigation, the contact discovered two different registered mileages; one over 200,00 and another over 300,000.

There's an electrical issue that is affecting the A/C connection. The compressor belt won't turn and it's due to the electrical issue. The fuse box over heats and turns on the "Check engine" light. Most Hondas have this same A/C issue but the problem is the faulty fusebox and fuses that are causing electrical issues to the rest of the car making it dangerous to drive.

The fire had fully engulfed the engine compartment. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire using water. The fire marshal filed a report. The vehicle had been declared a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

1. Power stearing failure. The car is available for inspection upon request. 2. When the failure occurs, the power stearing became very rigid in such way I'm unable to turn the stearing wheel. This has occured when I'm in the middle of a curve but also has occur when I'm in a straight line. This failure is intermitent, to 2-3 consecutive times for a couple of days (3-5days max) to then not appear for months. 3. and 4. The problem hasn't been reproduced or inspected by the dealer or independent service center. 5. A light with a stearing wheel and exclamation mark appears. No symptoms prior to failure. The first time to show this failure was over a year ago.

MY 2010 MODEL YEAR HONDA CIVIC WITH THE 1.8L R18A1 4-CYL ENGINE WILL NOT MAINTAIN ITS NORMAL ENGINE OPERATING TEMPERATURE DURING THE COLD WINTER MONTHS. THE ENGINE TAKES A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WARM UP, WHETHER IT IS IDLING IN THE DRIVEWAY OR BEING DRIVEN IN THE CITY/HIGHWAY. THIS PROBLEM IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE WHEN USING THE HEAT TO WARM UP THE CAR. IF I TRY TO USE THE DEFROST SETTING, THE CAR WILL NOT REACH ITS NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND THE AIR BEING BLOW OUT IS LUKEWARM. EVEN IF I WAIT UNTIL THE CAR IS FULLY WARMED UP, IF I ATTEMPT TO USE THE DEFROST, THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE WILL DROP. IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE ENGINE'S TEMPERATURE, I MUST KEEP THE DEFROST SET BETWEEN THE HOT AND COLD INDICATORS ON THE CLIMATE CONTROL KNOB. THIS POSES AS A PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE AIR BEING BLOWN OUT DOES NOT EFFECTIVELY DEFROST MY WINDOWS. I ALSO DO NOT WANT TO DAMAGE MY ENGINE AND HAVE IT RUN TOO COLD. WHILE MY WIFE WAS WAITING IN LINE AT A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU LANE, STEAM WAS NOTICED COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY PARKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE AGENCY AND LEFT OVERNIGHT. WHEN I CALLED THE NEXT MORNING, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE COMPRESSOR WAS FAILING AND THAT THEY RECOMMENDED TO HAVE THE COMPRESSOR REPLACED FOR $995. AFTER STATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LESS THEN TWO YEARS OLD AND INQUIRING IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR OTHER CIVICS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS, I WAS TOLD THAT A 2006 MODEL WAS BROUGHT IN WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. DURING MY DAUGHTER'S 5-HR DRIVE TO COLLEGE IN HER 2010 HONDA CIVIC (~ 3500 MILES ON IT), THE CAR'S A/C ABRUPTLY QUIT WORKING. AFTER CHECKING OVER THE INTERNAL CONTROLS TO MAKE SURE SHE DIDN'T HAVE A WRONG SETTING, SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND FOUND THAT THE CONDENSER HAD A HOLE IN IT APPARENTLY FROM A FOREIGN OBJECT (ROCK). UPON FURTHER INTERNET RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THIS SITUATION WAS NOT A RARE OCCURRENCE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS LISTED ON THE INTERNET OF THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED BOTH AMERICAN HONDA AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND WAS TOLD THAT HONDA WOULD NOT COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY. THE ISSUE IS DESIGN OR MATERIAL WORKMANSHIP RELATED, NOT AN "ACT OF GOD" OR UNLUCKY CIRCUMSTANCE. THE CONDENSER IS NOT WELL PROTECTED AS IN OTHER COMPETITIVE VEHICLES, SO IT IS MORE PRONE TO THIS ISSUE. OTHER PEOPLE DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE ON AN INTERNET "FORUM" ARE FINDING CREATIVE WAYS TO PROTECT THE CONDENSER WITH A WIRE "NETTING" BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT JUST BY REPLACING THE CONDENSER DOES NOT FIX THE ROOT CAUSE. SINCE THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, HONDA IS MOST LIKELY NOT GOING TO ADDRESS THIS IN A RESPONSIBLE MANNER. ON OR ABOUT DECEMBER 21, 2017 AND ON DECEMBER 25, 2017 (AT APPROXIMATELY 5:20 PM EASTERN TIME), THE ENGINE OF MY 2010 HONDA FIT ACCELERATED RAPIDLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY OR SUBURBAN STREET. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, I WAS DRIVING AT 20-25 MILES PER HOUR. I WAS NOT TRYING TO INCREASE THE CAR'S SPEED BY PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE CAR HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. When I first bought the car and or around 07/22/2019 I brought it home parked it in front of my house in Santa rosa CA. As I was walking to my house I took a look at the car I just bought and notice a small drip of oil or fluid . didnt pay attention to it . Do to the fact it came straight off the lot . As time went on power steering fluid would get low I was driving from santa rosa to sausalito ca every day on a very strict disiplinary probation by my Employer Heath Ceramics LTD. I had to be on time and figured I had a safe car to get me to work and back. Months after I bought the car and kept an eye on the fluids . I was at a stop light before work in Santa Rosa . The light turned green as I excelerated the train axle snaped . Took it to car max were I bought it and let them know it was leaking the day I brought it home until the day the train axle snapped . They repaird it no charge . I drove home and it was leaking more this time I took it back and said I want a new car it was sold to me leaking and still after carmax repaird it its still leaking . They repaird it again no charge and refused to let me get a new car . Turns out the seal in the train axel wasnt replaced and sold to me. I could have wrecked on that comute .On the contract check list it marked train axle replaced or repaird I showed dan the auto repair manager at car max santa rosa ca and his manager When I first took the car in to be repaired .

MY CAR WAS WEARING OUT TIRES EVERY 20,000 TO 30,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD MY CAR ALIGNED 5 TIMES. TWICE BY THE DEALER AND 3 TIMES BY SO CALLED EXPERT SHOPS. $2,200 LATER IN TIRES & ALIGNMENT COSTS NEITHER, FIXED MY PROBLEMS. I DID THE TROUBLESHOOTING MYSELF. I STOPPED ROTATING THE TIRES AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE THE CULPRITS WEARING THE TIRES OUT. DUE TO A NEGATIVE UPPER CONTROL ARM SETTING. REAR CAMBER ON THIS IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. YOU MUST REPLACE IT WITH A DEALER UPPER CONTROL ARM MARKED "C" THAT SETS IT AT -1.50 DEG (-0.75-+1.08). FOUND THIS OUT WHEN I LOCATED A RECALL FOR ONLY THE 2006 TO 2009 CIVIC. MY CIVIC IS A 2010 MODEL. IT IS SUSPECTED THAT THE REAR TIRE WEAR IS MADE WORSE WHEN YOU CARRY EXTRA WEIGHT. I LIVE ON BASE (RIDGECREST CA) AND VISIT GRANDMA IN PASADENA CA OFTEN WITH MY 2 KIDS AND WIFE A 2 HOUR ROUND TRIP. THE PASSENGERS MUST HAVE MADE THIS WORSE. THE REASON FOR MY POST IS THAT THE RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE THE 2010 CIVIC! I HAD TO USE AN AFTER MARKET REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM AND SET TO -1.50 TO CORRECT SPENDING $600 ON TIRES EVERY 20,000 TO 30,000 MILES. NOW MY TIRES LAST ~70,000. COME ON HONDA! FOR YEARS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR COMPLAINING ABOUT THE POOR LIGHTING FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. CONSISTENTLY I HAVE TO DAB THE SWITCH TO DOUBLE CHECK AND CONFIRM THEY ARE ON AT NIGHT WHEN I AM NOT ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD AND OR ANY SIGN THAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY WORKING. I ALSO REGULARLY TOOK A LOOK AT THE ACTUAL LIGHTS TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T HAVE ONE BURNT OUT OR SOMETHING. NOW I AM SELLING THE CAR AND HAD IT DETAILED, SO THE HEADLIGHTS WERE POLISHED AND IT WAS MIND-BLOWING TO REALIZE THAT THE LOW QUALITY OF THE PLASTIC COVER LENSES WAS ALWAYS THE CULPRIT. SOMEONE RECENTLY EXPLAINED TO ME THE REAL REASON: MY CAR'S HEADLIGHTS! DAY1: I HAVE A 2010 HONDA CIVIC EX-L SEDAN WITH MILEAGE OF 95-100K. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40-MPH (BEST GUESS-TIMATE), THE VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, GREEN LIGHT NEXT TO DRIVE (D) BEGAN FLASHING AND VSA INDICATOR WAS LIT TOO; VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE A BIT JERKY SHIFTING. TOOK IT INTO HONDA AND THEY CHANGED TRANSMISSION FLUID, AS WELL AS REPLACED THE 3RD GEAR PRESSURE SWITCH. DAY 3: I EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR PROBLEM, WITH THE ADDITIONAL SYMPTOM OF THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAY FLUCTUATING WILDLY / READING TOO LOW OR ZERO VALUES. THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP PERFORMED A COMPUTER UPDATE, CLEARED ERROR CODES, AND A 10-MIN TEST DRIVE DID NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE. DAY4: WHILE GENTLY ACCELERATING TO 45-MPH, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE SPEEDOMETER ABRUPTLY DROPPED TO NEAR "ZERO". IT WAS AT THIS POINT THAT THE TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY DOWN-SHIFTED TO EITHER 1ST OR 2ND GEAR AND CAUSED THE TIRES TO SCREECH (AS IF I HAD JAMMED ON THE BRAKES, BUT I HAD NOT). THE ABRUPT DECELERATION OF MY VEHICLE NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH THE CAR BEHIND ME, WHO WAS ALSO ACCELERATING AND NARROWLY AVOIDED REAR-ENDING MY VEHICLE (I IMAGINE BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN DECELERATION WITHOUT WARNING OF BRAKE LIGHTS). A QUICK SEARCH ON THE HONDA FORUMS REVEALED MANY OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, SOME OF WHOM HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEIR MOTOR MOUNT MULTIPLE TIMES. HOWEVER THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE WATER LEAK AND THEREFORE ARE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COMPLETED THE ASSESSMENT AS A COURTESY TO ME.THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 28K MILES; HOWEVER THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WHICH IS A 2010 MODEL IS OVER 3 YEARS OLD. BECAUSE THE WATER LEAK WAS NOT ABLE TO BE REPLICATED AT THE SERVICE LOCATION,HONDA MOTORS IS UNWILLING TO GO ANY FURTHER WITH ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. ANY FURTHER VISITS TO THE SERVICE STATION WOULD REQUIRE FOR ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. MY REQUEST FOR HONDA MOTORS TO EXTEND THEIR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY UNTIL THE SOURCE OF THE WATER LEAK IS IDENTIFIED AND THE PROBLEM FIXED WAS DENIED. THE WEIRDEST ACCIDENT I HAD JANUARY 8TH, 2012, AROUND 4:45 PM WITH MY HONDA CIVIC, I CONSIDER IT A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WAS ADDRESSED TO HONDA DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA. IT IS WHEN I WAS TURNING TO THE RIGHT, OUT FROM THE PARKING LOT OF A MEGA-STORE, ONE OF THE KEYS IN MY KEY CHAIN ACCIDENTALLY GOT TRAPPED IN A HOLE AT THE BACK OF THE STEERING WHEEL, THE WHOLE IS NOT COVERED. TAKATA RECALL I HAD AN AIR BAG RECALL BACK IN 2016. I NOTICED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THE CAR IS ALWAYS GIVING ME PROBLEMS. FOR EXAMPLE THE LIGHT INSIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE WORKS WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE WORKING. MY FRIEND AND I PUT OUR PURSES IN THE TRUNK OF MY HONDA CIVIC 2010 AT A BUSY RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. HONDA HAS AN INTERIOR VALET KEY HOLE TO LOCK THE TRUNK; SO I FEEL SAFE TO LEAVE MY THINGS IN THE TRUNK. THIS KEY HOLE IS AT THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. SOMEONE BROKE THE DRIVER'S WINDOW AND OPENED THE TRUNK WITH THE VALET TRUNK LATCH LOCKED. I HAVE THE TRUNK ALWAYS VALET KEY LOCKED; SO I WAS SURPRISED SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO POP THE TRUNK. I TOOK MY CAR TO A BODY SHOP PLACE. HE EASILY DISCOVERED THAT A PLASTIC COVER THAT IS AROUND THE VALET TRUNK KEY LOCK CAN BE REMOVED AND A SMALL LATCH CAN BE MOVED TO THE LEFT AND THE TRUNK OPENS. HE SAID THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE. HE SAID. "I CAN'T TRUST MY THINGS IN THE TRUNK WITH A VALET PERSON, AFTER THIS DISCOVERY." I WAS SHOCKED. I BUY HONDA'S BECAUSE I LIKE THIS FEATURE. I HAVE GONE THROUGH A LOT OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS BECAUSE MY IDENTITY WAS STOLEN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE HEAD REST DID NOT LOCK IN PLACE. IN ADDITION, ALL DOORS AND TRUNK LOCKED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ALTER THE DESIGN AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE ON THE DOORS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO REFERRED HER BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000. UPDATED 3/6/12 *CN

I HAVE A BRAND NEW 2010 HONDA CIVIC GX ( NATURAL GAS VEHICLE) I PURCHASED THE CAR LESS THAN ONE MONTH AGO AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR THE LAST WEEK. I'VE BEEN NOTICING THE SMELL OF NATURAL GAS AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALER. THE DEALER INSTRUCTED ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A SUBSTANTIAL LEAK COMING FROM THE PIPES BETWEEN THE TANK AND EXTERIOR. HONDA REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRE NEW TANK AND ASSEMBLES AND HAVE OPTED TO TRY AND ADD NEW "O" RINGS. HONDA DOES NOT SEEM VERY CONFIDENT IN THE PRESCRIBED MEASURES FROM HONDA CORPORATE AND ALSO DON'T SEEM VERY CONFIDENT IN REPAIRING THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES. I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THESE VEHICLES AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF ITS AN ON GOING PROBLEM. THESE THINGS CAN BLOW UP IF YOU HAVE A LEAK OF ANY KIND. THE CONDENSER UNIT IN MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC EX HAS EXPIRED. I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AGO, AND EVER SINCE THEN, THE A/C HASN'T WORKED. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING AND THE SERVICE GUYS INSISTED THAT THE CONDENSER WAS PUNTURED BY ROAD DEBRIS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE ARIZONA ATTORNEY GENERAL ON MAY 17, 2010. I PURCHASED A 2010 HONDA CIVIC IN CHANDLER ON NOVEMBER 7, 2009. MY CAR WAS DAMAGED. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CHOSE TO CATEGORIZE MY CAR PROBLEMS AS 'NORMAL'. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE PERFORMED WORK WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE WHICH CAUSED A NEW PROBLEM TO ARISE. CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT, STEERING WHEEL SHIFTS TO THE RIGHT WHILE BRAKING AND MORE. I WAS INVOLVED IN TWO SEPARATE TRAFFIC INCIDENTS THAT COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. 1. WHEN THE FUEL CAP IS REMOVED THERE IS A ESD DISCHARGE WHEN THE CAP TOUCHES THE BODY OF THE CAR. THE ESD DISCHARGE CAN OCCUR VERY CLOSE TO THE FUEL INLET AND WHERE THERE ARE GASOLINE VAPORS. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR A FUEL EXPLOSION OR FIRE. THE FUEL CAP IS ATTACHED TO THE FUEL DOOR SO THE MAX DISTANCE THE CAP CAN BE MOVED FROM THE FUEL INLET IS ABOUT 6 INCHES 2. THE ESD SEEMS TO BUILD UP VERY QUICKLY (AT LEAST 1 MILE OF DRIVING). THE PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS REFUELED AND HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. 3. THE MANUFACTURE WAS CONTACTED AND THEY INDICATED THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO THE BUILDUP OF ESD ON THE OPERATOR OF THE CAR. WHEN THE FUEL CAP IS TOUCHED THE ESD CHARGE IS THEN TRANSFERRED TO THE CAP WHICH THEN DISCHARGES TO THE BODY OF THE CAR. THE MANUFACTURE RECOMMENDED USING AN ANTISTATIC SPRAY ON THE FACTORY INSTALLED SEATS AND FLOOR MATS. AT THIS TIME NO OTHER ACTION HAS BEEN PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURE AS THEY ARE CLAIMING THE PROBLEM MUST BE RESOLVED BY THE OPERATOR OF THE CAR. I DISPUTE THIS FINDING FOR SEVERAL REASONS. (1) WHEN EXITING THE CAR THE OPERATOR TOUCHES THE METAL FRAME OF THE DOOR AND (2) THE FUEL DOOR IS ALSO METAL AND THIS IS ALSO TOUCHED SO ANY BUILD UP OF ESD ON THE OPERATOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED BEFORE THE FUEL CAP IS EVER TOUCHED.

SINCE DELIVERY ON 11/30/09 THE CAR OVERSTEERS, MOST NOTICEABLE ON HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AND ON EXIT TURNS. VERY TIRING TO CONTINUOUSLY MICRO-ADJUST SENSITIVE STEERING TO KEEP CAR STRAIGHT. REQUIRES ONLY 1/8 TO 1/4-INCH STEERING WHEEL TURN TO 'WANDER' INTO ADJACENT LANE! ON TURNS, RESULTS IN 'ANGULAR' PATTERN INSTEAD OF SMOOTH CURVE. PROBLEM IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS USED. DANGEROUS. A GLANCE AT THE RADIO AND YOU'RE IN ANOTHER LANE. ON STRAIGHT HIGHWAY STRETCH, PROBLEM RESULTS IN A "SNAKING" DRIVING PATTERN INSTEAD OF STRAIGHT LINE. DEALER DISMISSED ISSUE AS "NORMAL, SPORT-STYLE STEERING, TAKES GETTING USED TO". CAR NOW HAS 3,600 MILES ON IT. SEEMS LIKE TEMPERATURE MAY PLAY A ROLE: ON VERY COLD DAYS, MAY TAKE 15 MINUTES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING TO BECOME VERY APPARENT. ONLY 1 TIME AT DEALER SO FAR AND REPORTED TO HONDA AMERICA (NATIONAL) WITH THEIR RESPONSE: "WE RELY ON DEALERS AS OUR EYES AND EARS, TAKE BACK TO DEALER". DECIDED TO AVOID THAT FOR NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED. ADDITIONAL DETAIL: THE AUTOMOBILE DOESN'T 'TRACK' THE ROAD WELL, MOST NOTICEABLY ON THE HIGHWAY, WHERE IT IS UNUSUALLY DIFFICULT TO KEEP DRIVING THE CAR IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND TO DRIVE ALONG CURVES IN A UNIFORM MANNER. THE STEERING REQUIRES ALMOST CONTINUOUS 'MICRO-CORRECTION.' ON THE HIGHWAY, AT 50 TO 60 MPH, THE CAR BEGINS TO DRIFT TO EITHER SIDE. TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL A TINY AMOUNT - SAY, 1/8 TO OF AN INCH - CAUSES THE CAR TO DRIFT IN THE DIRECTION OF THE TURN MORE THAN EXPECTED AND TO THE EXTENT THAT A RAPID 'RE-CORRECTION' (TINY TURN OF THE WHEEL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION) IS REQUIRED TO PREVENT IT FROM ENTERING THE ADJACENT LANE. AND THIS, OF COURSE, LEADS TO A 'RE-RE RECORRECTION', AND A 'RE-RE-RE-CORRECTION', ETC. ON THE OFF-RAMP, AT REDUCED SPEED, TRYING TO DRIVE ALONG THE SMOOTH CURVE REQUIRES MICRO-CORRECTION, HOWEVER THE RESULTING DRIVING PATTERN IS A SERIES OF NEAR-STRAIGHT LINES AND SHARP ANGLES.
