The contact owned a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while attempting to park in a parking lot, he was blinded by the sun and collided with the circular concrete base of a parking lot light on private property. The contact mentioned that the engine was revving high. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact was rendered unconscious by the impact. The contact sustained a cracked sternum, rib, right shoulder, back, and hip injuries, and also aggravated a prior spine injury. The contact stated that he observed coolant leaking from the radiator on the ground under the vehicle. Medical attention was required for these injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed that the radiator was destroyed and the vehicle was deemed totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.

On August 9 while grandson was in route on I20 toward Birmingham, Al. to attend grandparent funeral, driver air bag exploded. He struggled to take a close next exit. He pulled car to side of road and ran away from car. He said it was full of smoke and small pieces. He feared the car was going to catch fire. His phone was dead and there was nothing off the exit so after smoke cleared and he felt safer, he drove car to my home and parked under carport. I called Sunny King Honda on Monday and they said that I had to contact American Honda. I was told they would send someone to inspect, but after many times calling, they said insurance needed to inspect. On October 1, Insurance looked at car and did car fax and found no reason for air bag to explode. They had already given me case number but finally a case manager, named Ilene, answered and said to take to dealership on October 24 for inspection and test. I spoke with guy at dealership and he said because car does not need to be driven, I could leave there and they would lock up. I have called again many times trying to find out when car will be fixed and she is not returning my calls. It has been 3 more weeks since dropping off at dealership. It is going on 4 months without car. This could have been a death complaint instead of needing repair. He was fortunate that his left arm was really red and no other harm. There was not a recall on his vin but common sense is air bag is for safety when hitting something to protect individual. Looking on line, there are other complaints with 2011 Civic. The car has been a great car but I am concerned about safety. I hoped American Honda would just repair car and make safe, but at this point, I am questioning.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V661000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

HI I AM [XXX] AND I WAS THE PASSENGER IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON APRIL 3RD, 2020. THE DRIVER WAS [XXX] AND WE WE'RE HEADED HOME DOWN 184/CONERROSS CREEK ROAD AND WE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A FOUR WAY STOP SIGN. [XXX] LOOKED LEFT AND SEEN A VEHICLE APPROACHING THE FOUR WAY AND [XXX] THEN LOOKED RIGHT AN HE LOOKED STRAIGHT AND THEN BEGAN TO LET OFF THE BREAK PEDAL AND THEN WE GOT HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE HEADLIGHT AREA. IT IS TOTALED. WHEN WE GOT HIT THE PASSENGER AIR BAGS WE HAD REPLACED FOR A RECALL ABOUT A YEAR AGO. MY HEAD CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD, MY CHEST HIT THE DASH WHICH CAUSED A BROKEN STERNUM AND TWO DISPLACED DISC. SERVICE BRAKES

Each time I applied brakes I would hear a scraping sound in sync with a point or span of tire rotation. Then as I was attempting to stop at a red light the brakes failed. The nearest place was OR automotive and they rebuilt rear braking system yet I could hear the same scraping sound. So I carried the car to Honda dealership. They adjusted brakes $237.00 and replaced $341.00 the two rear drums. The sound remains and is magnified. They are claiming it is because e brake cables stretch. Somehow the stretching can cause entire rear brake on that side to catastrophically fail.

"TAKATA RECALL" I'VE HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKES OFTEN ON THIS CAR. I DON'T DRIVE THE CAR LONG DISTANCES, BUT THE BRAKES WEAR OUT SO EASILY. I'VE HAD IT FOR 4 YEARS AND HAVE MILEAGE OF 30,000. I HAVE CHANGED MY BRAKES AND ROTORS AT LEAST 4 DIFFERENT TIMES EVEN AFTER I BOUGHT CERAMIC BRAKES AND HEAVY DUTY ROTORS, AND TIRES ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. UPON COMPLAINING TO HONDA'S CORPORATE OFFICE I WAS GIVEN A $200.00 GIFT CARD THAT PRETTY MUCH WENT RIGHT BACK FOR REPAIRS.JUST FROM 3 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP HAVE SPENT OVER $3,000.00 IN REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE FEES. THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN CHANGED ONCE BEFORE. IT IS AGAIN GIVING PROBLEMS AND IS ONLY PRODUCING MILDLY COLD AIR. MY MECHANIC HAS INFORMED ME THAT I NEED TO CHANGE THE COMPRESSOR AGAIN. THAT WOULD BE #3!

WHILE DRIVING I REACHED UP TO PULL THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR DOWN TO BLOCK THE SUN GLARE. AS THE VISOR CAME DOWN IT MADE A CRACKING SOUND. AFTER STOPPING AND PLACING VISOR BACK UP AN IN PLACE. IS IT COMMON TO BRAKE AXLE? OR IS THERE ANY CHANCES TO BRAKE WHILE REPLACING WHOLE BREAKS(FRONT WHEELS)? I DID MY INSPECTION AND EMISSIONS LAST WEEK @ J L FREED. THEY WERE SOME RECOMMENDATION ABOUT BRAKE REPLACEMENT. I ASKED THEM TO GO FOR IT AND THEY REPLACED BRAKES AND PASSED INSPECTION AND EMISSIONS. VERY NEXT DAY, WHILE I PULL BACK MY CAR FROM DRIVE WAY AND SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT IT WAS MOVING FORWARD OR REVERSE. AT THE END, I DROPPED OF MY CAR(BY TOWED) BACK TO J L FREED, THEY SAID, SOME REASON AXLE IS BROKEN. I STATED THAT, IT MAY BE HAPPENED WHILE YOUR TECH WERE CHANGING FRONT BRAKES. THEY WERE NOT READY TO LISTEN AND DENIED THAT WE DIDN'T BRAKE IT. I PAID THEM TO REPLACE MY CAR AXLE BUT I WASN'T HAPPY ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES. PLEASE ADVISE.

THE SUN VISOR FOR THE CAR HAS BEEN REPLACED EVERY YEAR SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, AS IT MELTS OFF IN THE SUMMER HEAT. THE VISOR WILL HANG AND BLOCK VISIBILITY FOR THE DRIVER CAUSING HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS. AFTER 7 REPLACEMENTS, THE VISOR HAS SINCE BEEN REMOVED. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE DURING SUNRISE OR SUNSET. I WILL LIKELY HAVE TO GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS REASON, AS I CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE IT FOR A LARGE PORTION OF THE DAY.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS DONT ALWAYS WORK. I WILL PUSH ON THE HANDLE AND THE WIPERS WILL NOT MOVE. THIS IS ALSO A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD, IF ITS RANING HARD AND I CANT SEE WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES THERE IS A HUGE DELAY FROM PUSHING HANDLE AND WIPER BLADES ACTUALLY MOVING. SOMETIMES, THE WIPERS WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL. VERY DISSATIFIED WITH THIS HONDA. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA AGAIN.

WE PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE AS A CERTIFIED CAR IN 2012. AFTER DRIVING FOR A WEEK OR SO I NOTICE THAT THE CAR VIBRATE OR SHAKES WHEN IT IS ON IDLE. IT IS EVEN WORSE WHEN AC IS ON. MY 2011 HONDA CIVIC HAS A BLOWN ENGINE AFTER HAVING THE CAR LESS THAN 4 YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY PAST 60,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE, MY CAR WITH 63,000 MILES HAS A COMPLETELY BLOWN ENGINE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THIS IS NO LONGER COVERED AND THERE IS NOTHING HONDA CAN DO ABOUT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS HONDA IS SUCH A LEMON AND HAVE NO FAITH IN BUYING A HONDA EVER AGAIN. THIS 2011 CIVIC EX I OWN HAS ALREADY GONE THROUGH 3 DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISORS. THE VISOR SPLITS, AND CAUSES A DISTRCTION TO THE DRIVER BY FLOPPING DOWN, AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING A DISTRACTION TO LED TO AN ACCIDENT. IN RESEARCHING THIS, HONDA WAS SUED FOR 2006 - 2009 MODELS FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM - AND LOST (YET NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY). I SPOKE TO AMERICAN HONDA, THEY SAID THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THE 2011 MODEL BEING A PROBLEM. THAT IS NOT TRUE. I SPOKE TO THE DEALER, SAN TAN HONDA. THE DEALER SAYS IT IS HOT SO THEY SPLIT. MAYBE THEY SHOULD ONLY SELL THESE CARS IN ALASKA, AND NOT ARIZONA. THERE ARE NO GREY DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISORS FOR THE 2011 HONDA CIVIC AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER, AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY ARE COMING IN. THAT SHOULD BE AN INDICATIOR OF A QUALITY PROBLEM. HONDA IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY, AND HAS NOT ISSUED ANY NOTICE AND HAS DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS, NOR DONE THE REDESIGN FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PART. PLEASE HELP TO HOLD HONDA ACCOUNTABLE TO STOCK PARTS, AND EXTEND THE WARRANTY OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART. THEY CANNOT SEEM TO LEARN THE LESSON OF THEIR LAWSUIT ON PREVIOUS MODELS. 2011 HONDA CIVIC WITH 4000 MILES. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND COMPLAINED ABOUT A BURNED SMELL WHEN BRAKING WHILE DRIVING UPHILL AFTER THE CAR STOPS. NO HEAVY BRAKING THOUGH. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID MY BRAKE PADS HAD ZERO % LEFT, METAL TO METAL. THEY BLAMED THE WAY THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AND TREATED ME LIKE I WAS SOME JERK THAT WAS DRAG RACING EVERY DAY AND TOASTED THE BRAKES. I PREVIOUSLY HAD A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY THAT I DROVE THE SAME WAY (AS A NORMAL PERSON BY THE WAY, CITY AND FREEWAY) AND DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE BRAKES UNTIL OVER 33000 MILES! The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle's mileage was 89,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 161,158. The contact stated that there was a white substance throughout the vehicle, which was determined to be mold.

-Two back seat belts have malfunctioned. The back driver side seat buckle has unattached from the car. The middle back seat belt came unattached from the car. It is available for inspection but have an appointment to get fixed tomorrow. -Mine and my family's safety was put at an INCREASED risk for danger. Two seat belts have malfunctioned in the back seat just from normal wear. My infant daughter rides in the back seat and I trust that the seat belts would function correctly for normal use! -I am not sure. I have an appointment with Honda dealership tomorrow. -It has not currently been inspected. -No symptoms prior and no reasonable explanation for this to happen.

I CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PROBLEM THAT I AM EXPERIENCING IS NOT COVERED ANY LONGER UNDER THE WARRANTY. WHEN I TURNED LEFT, A CLUNKING NOISE CAN BE HEARD, AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A DRIVE AXLE. BROUGHT TO THE DEALER, CHARGED ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT IS NOT AN AXLE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS A BUMP STOP PROBLEM, I HAVE TWO OLDER HONDA VEHICLES AND I DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. HONDA STRUTS ARE MEDIOCRE AND LOW IN QUALITY. THE SECOND PROBLEM THAT I HAVE IS EVAP MIL (P2422). AS PER TSB, THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS WELL ON THIS SAME CAR.

CONSISTENT PREMATURE AND UNEVEN TIRE WARE IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM ON THIS CAR. THE REAR TIRES STARTED VIBRATING. I TOOK THEM CARE TO A TIRE PLACE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRES WENT BACK DUE TO NON-ROTATION OF THE TIRES. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED AT 6,000 MILES, BUT WERE STILL DAMAGED. THE ORIGINAL TIRES HAD A 24,000 WARE LIFE. SUBSEQUENT TO REPLACING THE ORIGINAL TIRES, I HAVE PUT 90,000 MILE MICHELIN TIRES ON THE CARE. WITH CONSISTENT ROTATION, THE TIRES WARE OUT WITH THE WASHBOARD EFFECT BETWEEN 25,000 AND 30,000 MILES. AT 100,000 MILES, I HAVE REPLACE THE TIRE 3 TIMES WITH 90,000 MILE TIRES. *TR

I WAS STOPPED IN A PARKING GARAGE AND INTENDED TO PULL INTO AN OPEN SPACE ON MY LEFT. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT AND MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. IT CRASHED INTO THE CAR TO THE RIGHT OF THE OPEN SPACE AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE, PUSHING THE OTHER CAR INTO THE CAR TO ITS RIGHT. I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKES DURING THE ENTIRE INCIDENT BUT THEY WERE NOT FUNCTIONAL. MY CAR FINALLY PUSHED THE OTHER CAR OUT OF THE WAY AND MY CAR SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE BLOCK IN FRONT OF THE OPEN SPACE AND STOPPED. HAD THE CONCRETE BLOCK NOT BEEN THERE, I WOULD HAVE FLOWN OVER THE SIDE OF THE THIRD LEVEL OF THIS PARKING GARAGE. MY FOOT WAS IN NO WAY ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE ENTIRE TIME. ALSO, A NON-HONDA MECHANIC EXPERIENCED THE SAME REVVING ISSUE WHEN HE INSPECTED THE CAR AFTER THE INCIDENT. HOWEVER, HONDA CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AND WILL NOT REFUND US THE COST OF DAMAGES WE PAID OUT OF POCKET. PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2011 HONDA CIVIC 4D LXS MODEL CAR IN MARCH. WITHIN A MONTH THE CAR HEAD COMPUTER ISSUE THAT CAUSED ALL OF THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY CONTROL TO BREAK, SPEEDOMETER, ENGINE TEMPERATURE, GAS INDICATOR, ODOMETER, ETC. ALL WENT DEAD. THE CAR WAS TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE, BUT NO ROOT-CAUSES WERE FOUND FOR THE ISSUE. AFTER THE CAR HAD THE BATTERY DISCHARGED AN RECHARGED THE ISSUE SIMPLY WENT AWAY. ON 6/12/11 THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE CAR ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK, BRAKES WEREN'T FUNCTIONAL AND IT JUMPED A CURB A AND RAN THROUGH A FENCE BEFORE FINALLY COMING TO A STOP.
