This car overconsumes oil rapidly. I have always taken it for oil changes when due. I put hardly any miles on my car (10k or less annually) and every time I take it for an oil change they say it is extremely low. The oil light never comes on to alert me that it is low. About a week or two ago it started making a clicking noise and it was due for an oil change so I took it for one and the technician said that this is a common issue with Hyundai cars and that there is permanent engine damage due to the overconsumption of oil. I am only halfway through paying this car off and it will cost as much as it is worth to repair it.

I am writing to you as the owner of a 2019 Hyundai Accent, which has recently experienced severe engine issues including low compression in three cylinders, sludge build-up, and eventual engine failure. It has come to my attention that these issues are not isolated incidents but are rather indicative of a systemic problem with Hyundai Accent models of this year. As you are undoubtedly aware, numerous reports and complaints have surfaced regarding similar engine failures and defects in the 2019 Hyundai Accent. These issues have not only caused significant inconvenience and financial burden to individual owners like myself, but they also pose serious safety concerns. Given the widespread nature of these problems, it is evident that they are not mere anomalies but rather result from inherent flaws in the design or manufacturing process of the vehicles. As such, I am firmly of the belief that these issues should be addressed as part of a Hyundai class action lawsuit.

PULLING TO THE LEFT, AND ON THE FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, I HAVE TO MAINTAIN CONSTANT PRESSURE TO KEEP THE CAR TRACKING STRAIGHT. LES SCHWAB CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT AND SAID IT WAS IN FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. THEY SWAPPED THE RIGHT AND LEFT FRONT TIRES, AND IT STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY CAR HAS 19, 000 MILES ON IT AND IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM.

I am reporting a severe and hazardous failure involving my 2019 Hyundai Accent. On August 8, 2025, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., while driving on Mopac (Loop 1), a heavily traveled highway in Austin, Texas, the vehicle abruptly experienced an overheating issue without any prior warning. The engine rapidly lost power, causing the vehicle to become unstable in traffic. I managed to maneuver the vehicle to the far-right shoulder, but when I attempted to accelerate and further distance the car from the road, the engine failed completely, emitting a severe sound resembling an explosion followed by an immediate shutdown, rendering the vehicle inoperable. This failure posed an immediate safety hazard. The vehicle was disabled in a dark and high-speed traffic environment, significantly increasing the likelihood of being struck by other vehicles. During the incident, I encountered difficulty releasing my seatbelt, briefly confining myself inside. The sudden breakdown caused me severe distress, leading to a panic and an asthma attack. Although I did not seek medical attention, the physical and emotional consequences were substantial. Since the breakdown, the vehicle has remained completely undrivable and incapable of restarting. The issue has not been replicated due to the vehicle’s inoperability. Prior to this occurrence, I had maintained regular oil changes and performed necessary maintenance, and no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms manifested before the failure occurred. The manufacturer has been notified, and I am awaiting review by a case manager. The vehicle hasn’t been inspected by a dealership yet. Following the towing of the vehicle to my residence, a mechanic was dispatched to conduct an inspection. The mechanic indicated that the engine may require replacement. However, insurance representatives subsequently arrived and were unable to provide assistance. They asserted that the issue was of a technical and electrical nature and deemed the vehicle a tot

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
1 complaint
my vehicle had a fuel injector lock open flooding the car until it damaged the O2 sensor and also contaminating the engine oil. the car went through about two and a half gallons of gas in 3 minutes. during the repair process I mentioned to the dealership that the engine oil smells like gas and was a quart and a half higher than what it was after the last oil change 5 days prior. I'm believing the Quart and a half was most certainly all gas. the dealership informed me they could not repair the oil as it was not covered under warranty. if I wanted to dispute the warranty I had to contact Hyundai customer service. That was April 25th 2023 and as of May 23rd 2023 despite repeated phone calls Hyundai customer service they have never called me back. there are 2 safety issues in regards to this 1. when the fuel injector locked open dumping two and a half gallons of gas vapor in 3 minutes could easily have led to a fire or worse. 2. refusing to replace the contaminated engine oil is a safety issue because gas in the oil will cause the engine to fail. if this happens on the interstate which I drive all the time it could lead to a catastrophic accident involving me and other cars. eventually because I didn't have the money the dealership comped the oil change (I do not have the money for the change because had I changed the oil 5 days prior to the breakdown). the dealership recognized the safety hazard from contaminate engine oil but Hyundai motor company of America refuses to even call me back and if they had it their way would I would have just had me drive in a vehicle that represented a danger. the repair invoice has the oil change listed as warranty but it was not likely to be covered by warranty as the service customer service manager informed me they're going to have to fight with Hyundai and will probably end up competent in the long run. this was after 2 weeks of fighting with Hyundai to get them to pay for it and still they have never called me back.

WHEN YOU MADE A CLOSED TURN TO THE RIGHT, MADE A STRONG STRIKE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SUSPENSION. IT SOUNDED LIKE A LOOSE NUT IN AN ALUMINUM TRAY. ONE MONTH LATER IN MY HUSBAND DRIVING THE VEHICLE MADE THE RIGHT TURNING TO HEARD THE SOUND AND MADE THE APPOINTMENT TO DISCOVER THAT WAS THE JOINT SHAFT BOLT LOOSE.
