THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V532000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 184,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,789.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V533000 (AIR BAGS: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE) FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. THE RECALL STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD INSTALL NEW SIDE AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR CLIPS. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER WAS TO REVISE THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS ATTACHMENTS THAT WERE UNDER THE SEATS. THE DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE RECALL DID NOT STATE TO PERFORM THE SPECIFIC REPAIRS. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER THE RECALL DESPITE THE CONTACT'S VIN BEING INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 163,000.

MY 2001 ELANTRA HAD A RECALL ON FRONT CONTROL ARMS.THIS RECALL WAS LIMITED TO SNOWBELT STATES.THE RECALL SAYS CONTROL ARMS MAY CORRODE DUE TO WATER AND SALT BEING TRAPPED INSIDE CONTROL ARM AND MAY BREAK.THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE IF NEEDED OR DRILL DRAINAGE HOLE TO ALLOW WATER TO ESCAPE AND TREAT TO PREVENT FURTHER CORROSION.MY CAR HAD THE DRILL AND TREAT SOLUTION BUT THE CONTROL ARM BROKE ANYWAY.LUCKILY THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AT A SLOW SPEED WHEN THE BREAK OCCURRED,IF THE CAR WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEED, SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD HAVE BEEN THE RESULT.HYUNDAI ADMITS TO THE DEFECT BUT IS SAYING THAT SINCE THE RECALL WAS REPAIRED IT IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE.THE CONTROL ARMS SHOULD HAVE REPLACED FROM THE BEGINNING BUT INSTEAD THEY TOOK THE CHEAP WAY OUT.I WILL REPAIR THE CAR AND TRY TO RECOVER THE MONEY FROM HYUNDAI AS A REPEAT RECALL.HYUNDAI SHOULD REPLACE ALL THE CONTROL ARMS ON CARS THAT ARE AFFECTED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.

THE LOWER CONTROL ARM TO THE SUB-FRAME ASSEMBLY COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE WHEEL WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY, THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY TRAVELING AT APPRX. 15 MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE CAR CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP AND HAD TO BE TOWED FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. MY HUSBAND WAS SECONDS FROM TURNING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND HAD DECIDED TO BRING THE CAR HOME TO CHECK FOR A PROBLEM, AS THE CAR SEEMED TO BE SWAYING. IF THIS FAILURE HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, HE MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED. SINCE NEW, OUR 2001 ELANTRA HAS HAD AN INTERMITTENT "THUMPING" SOUND IN THE REAR WHEELS WHILE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. IT WOULD GO AWAY FOR MONTHS, THEN RETURN, USUALLY AFTER SOME MAINTENANCE EVENT SUCH AS A TIRE ROTATION. INTERNET SEARCHES REVEAL THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT. PEOPLE HAVE REPLACED ALL SORTS OF PARTS; WHEEL BEARING, SUSPENSION PARTS ETC., USUALLY WITH NO FIX. I FOUND THE CAUSE, AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL !! ON OUR MODEL, THE WHEEL NUTS ARE "CLOSED", MEANING THAT THEY ARE NOT DRILLED AND TAPPED ALL THE WAY THOUGH. ON OUR CAR, SOME OF THE WHEEL NUTS BOTTOM OUT ON THE WHEEL STUDS BEFORE THE BRAKE DRUM IS SECURED. WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE RESULTING LOOSE BRAKE DRUM CAN "WOBBLE" ON THE STUDS, MAKING THE SOUND,. ANOTHER ISSUE CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM: THERE IS ONE PHILLIPS SCREW WHICH SECURES THE BRAKE DRUM TO THE HUB. IN MY CASE THIS SCREW WAS MISSING, PROBABLY HAVING BEEN LEFT OFF DURING A SAFETY INSPECTION. HOWEVER, IF THE NUTS WERE NOT BOTTOMED OUT, THE DRUM WOULD BE SECURE EVEN IF THE SCREW IS MISSING. IT WOULD SEEM THAT THIS CONDITION COULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO STUD FAILURE. AT THE VERY LEAST, IT IS A SERIOUS AGGRAVATION. PROBABLY THE LEAST EXPENSIVE WAY TO FIX THIS WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE WHEEL NUTS WITH ONES THAT ARE DEEPER, ALLOWING MORE CLEARANCE FOR THE END OF THE WHEEL STUD.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. HIS VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO RECALL 03V257000 ( SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS). AFTER THE REPAIR, HE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LINES HAD HOLES IN THEM WHICH CAUSED BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE. THERE WAS NO COMPRESSION IN THE BRAKE LINE , SO THE PEDAL FELL COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR DURING APPLICATION. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE BRAKE LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000.

2001 ELANTRA REGARDING REAR BRAKE TUBES RECALL NOTICE.*MR IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO GET THE RECALL PERFORMED ON THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE, HOWEVER WHEN THE CONSUMER SHOWED UP, THE DEALER WAS CLOSED, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP HAD CHANGED OWNERSHIP AND TO CALL BACK. THE CONSUMER CALLED BACK TWICE AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE STILL CLOSED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE BOOKED DESPITE HAVING AN APPOINTMENT. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING DAY AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE MOST OF THE DAY, BUT WHEN THE CONSUMER RECEIVED THE VEHICLE, THE INVOICE STATED THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED. *JB

I HAVE RECEIVED A MOTOR VEHICLE RECALL NOTICE UNDER HYUNDAI CAMPAIGN NUMBER 091. I CALLED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND ASKED FOR A LOANER CAR AS I CAN NOT AFFORD ONE. I CANNOT MISS WORK AND DO NOT HAVE MONEY FOR HEALTH INSURANCE, MUCH LESS A RENTAL CAR. I SPOKE TO HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR. MY OFFICE IS TWENTY MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE RECALL NOTICE WARNS OF AN INCREASED "RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING". I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. *TR

AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS APPROACHING 65 MPH, STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO SHAKE. I WAS ORIGINALLY TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE TIRES WERE OUT OF BALANCE OR OUT OF ROUND. HAD TIRES PROFESSIONALLY INSPECTED AND BALANCED, AND CHECKED VARIOUS TIMES.... IT IS NOT THE TIRES. I HAVE LIFETIME BALANCING AND ALIGNMENT SO THE TIRES ARE BALANCED AND ALIGNED EVERY 3 TO 5 THOUSAND MILES. REPLACED ORIGINAL (POOR QUALITY) MICHELINS WITH HIGH END FIRESTONES AT 43,000 MILES AND VIBRATION PERSIST. YOU HAVE TO GO ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT, OR WAY BELOW, TO STOP YOUR ARMS AND HANDS FROM BEING SHAKEN RIDICULOUSLY...... SERVICE MANGER AT DEALERSHIP AND REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THE VIBRATION WAS NORMAL. THE VIBRATION MIGHT BE NORMAL FOR A PAINT MIXING MACHINE BUT NOT FOR A CAR. CALLED THE 800-633-5151 NUMBER AND WAS TOLD BY BARBARA THAT SINCE THE REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER HAD DETERMINED IT WAS NORMAL VIBRATION THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO. *AK

THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES OVER 60-65 MPH AND STOPS AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE VECHICLE ALSO PULLS TO THE RIGHT. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TIRES AND HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE NEW. I HAVE HAD WHEEL ALIGNMENTS, TIRE ROTATIONS AND ALL TIRES BALANCED. THE PULLING GRADUALLY RETURNED AS DID THE VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL. DEALER SAYS THAT IT CAN'T FIX IT.*AK

THE TEMPERATURE OF VEHICLE CAN ALSO EXCEED SAFE DEGREE DUE TO WINDOWS NOT OPENING. NO WARNING WAS GIVEN BEFORE ALL WINDOWS CEASED TO FUNCTION. STARTED VEHICLE AND WINDOWS WOULD NOT WORK FROM ANY CONTROL. HAD TO TAKE MOTHER TO DOCTOR FOR HEAT EXHAUSTION FROM EXCESSIVE TEMPERATURES BUILDING UP IN CAR.

WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED COLD AND PUT INTO DRIVE, FOOT APPLIED TO THE GAS, THERE IS A PERIOD (APPROX 10-15 SECONDS) OF HESITATION AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL JERK FORWARD. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN STARTING THE CAR AND TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC FROM A PARALLEL PARKING SPACE. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, SENSORS, VALVES AND OTHER NUMEROUS ITEMS ONLY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM TO REOCCUR. THE GENERAL MANAGER OFFERED TO TRADE ME INTO A USED VEHICLE FOR. I DECLINED. I HAVE PAID LOTS OF MONEY ON THIS CAR WHY WOULD I WANT MORE PROBLEMS??? SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!! THE WINDOW PANELS HAVE PEELED NUMEROUS TIMES. ONE INCIDENT IN WHICH THE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT CAUSING IT TO SNAP, HAPPENING ABOUT 7 MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT HAPPENING LAST NIGHT. THE CAR THEN SPUN IN THE ROAD CAUSING ENDANGERING TO TRAFFIC AND A NEAR HEAD ON ACCIDENT. THIS NEW INCIDENT, (SAME PROBLEM) THE CONTROL ARM SNAPPED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT OF THE ROAD. I PURCHASED THIS MY HYUNDAI ELANTRA FROM A USED CAR LOT. LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING OF THE VEHICLE BUT WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AND STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON VISUAL INSPECTION, NOTICED THAT FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE CONTROL ARM WAS RUSTED THROUGH AND DISINTEGRATED. WHEEL WAS BASICALLY DETACHED FROM THE CAR AND FOLDING UP UNDER THE WHEEL WELL. THIS IS A RECALL ITEM IN ALL NORTHERN STATES BECAUSE THE MATERIAL RUSTS WHEN EXPOSED TO ROAD SALT. BECAUSE I'M IN NORTH CAROLINA, THE RECALL DOESN'T APPLY TO MY CAR. ALL 4 BRAKES STARTED TO RANDOMLY LOCK UP. I WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO RUN IT ALMOST A 1/2 MILE FOR A SHOULDER TO PULL OVER AT. UPON STOPPING, THE BRAKES WERE SMOKING ALL AROUND THE CAR AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE ACTUALLY CAUGHT FLAME. I'M GUESSING BRAKE BOOSTER IS THE CAUSE. ALSO FRONT CONTROL ARMS ARE ALMOST RUSTED THROUGH. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN TODAY AND SPOKE TO MICHAEL KEILY (516-465-7700) WHO INFORMED THAT HE HAD NO IDEA WHEN THE NEEDED PART WILL BE AVAILABLE AND THEREFORE HE WAS UNABLE TO GIVE ME A DATE BY WHICH I CAN EXPECT THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. MR. KEILY ALSO INFORMED ME TODAY THAT HYUNDAI CORPORATE WILL ONLY PAY $35 PER DAY FOR A RENTAL REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. AT THE TIME I DID NOT HAVE MY FOOT ON EITHER THE GAS PEDAL OR BRAKE. I STOMPED ON THE BRAKE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED-IT JUST KEPT REVVING AND SURGING FORWARD. I SHOVED THE STICK INTO PARK AND LUCKILY IT STOPPED. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BATTERY WAS CORRODED AND THERE WAS A GREEN SUBSTANCE LEAKING FROM THE BATTERY. THE HYUNDAI COMPANY ADVISED HER TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY ADVISED HER TO PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY. ONCE THE NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED, THE VEHICLE STILL WOULD NOT START. THE CONDITION REPEATS AS LONG AS THE IGNITION IS SWITCHED "ON." I NOTICED HYUNDAI'S RECALL OF THE 2001 HYUNDAI ELANTRA FOR EXACTLY THAT PROBLEM AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. EVIDENTLY, THE CONDITION IS CAUSED BY ONE-OR-MORE FAULTY AIRBAG SENSORS. THE RESULT, ACCORDING TO THE RECALL INFORMATION, IS THAT ONE OR MORE AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY WHEN ACTIVATED. MY AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. I DEBATED ON WHETHER OR NOT TO TAKE IT BACK BECAUSE IT WASN'T ON CONTINUOUSLY. THEY ALWAYS SAY WE CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WELL NOW THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON CONTINUOUSLY AND I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THE COMPUTER IS SHOWING 12 DIFFERENT CODES FOR THE AIR BAGS AND THAT THEY NOTICED SOMETHING STICKY LIKE POP ON THE WIRES. THEY SAID THEY WEREN'T GOING TO COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. MY FIRST ISSUE WITH THAT IS THEY SHOULD BE SEALED OFF COMPLETELY SO A LITTLE POP SHOULDN'T FRY THE AIR BAG. AND AFTER THE FIRST YEAR I NOTICE RUST BEHIND THE PASSENGER DOORS IN NEAR THE WHEEL WELLS WHERE THE CAR IS WELDED TOGETHER. THAT'S A REAL HIGH QUALITY CAR RIGHT THERE WHEN YOU HAVE A CAR THAT'S 10 YEARS OLDER AND IT DOESN'T HAVE A SPOT OF RUST,THAT SHOWS QUALITY. WHAT DOES HYUNDAI SHOW? NOT MUCH AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED. IT SHOWS POOR QUALITY AND A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T REALLY STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY. LETS NOT FORGET THE FACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION IN THE CAR IS HORRIBLE. IT SHIFTS INTO SECOND GEAR SO HARD AND SOUNDS LIKE A CANON EXPLODING. THE LIGHT ABOVE THE LICENSE PLATE BURNT OUT 2 WEEKS AFTER THEY REPLACED IT THE FIRST TIME. AND THE FACT THAT ALL THE WIRES INSIDE MY DOORS WERE CORRODED AFTER TWO YEARS AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. SO, NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG MODULE BEING DESTROYED AND THEY SAID I SPILLED POP OR SOMETHING IN THE CONSOLE AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSED IT. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ASSOCIATED WITH THE UPPER OR LOWER CONTROL ARMS. THE CHECK ENGINE AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. CHECKUP ON 11/26/07. ALSO,DECIDED TO GET CAR INSPECTED AT THE SAME TIME. THEY REPLACED THE CRANKSHFT SENSOR. WAS TOLD TO DRIVE MY CAR AT LEAST 150 MILES SO THAT THEY CAN RESET THE MONITORS WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. THIS COST ME $257.00 NOW,VISIT #2- ON 1/03/08 ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY FIND 3 NEW PROBLEMS. THEY REPLACED A VALVE CANNISTER,PURGE VALVE,GAS CAP. THEY STATE THEY ALSO CLEARED THE CODES TO PASS INSPECTION. BUT, AGAIN I HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR ANOTHER 50+ MILES AGAIN SO THAT THEY COULD RESET THE MONITORS. ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF, WHICH WAS A GOOD SIGN. THIS COST ME $508.00. HOWEVER, THE NEXT MORNING,I STARTED UP THE CAR. IT STARTED VERY ROUGH AND FELT LIKE IT WAS READY TO STALL OUT ON ME. ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON ALSO. SHE TELLS ME THAT THEIR WAS A #4 CYLINDER MISFIRE CODE, NEEDED A FUEL INJECTOR,SPARK PLUGS, PLUG WIRES,TIMING BELT, SERPENTINE BELT,BELT TENSIONER,OILL CHANGE AND FUEL INJECTOR SERVICE. ESTIMATED AT LEAST $1200.00. THIS WAS VERY UPSETTING. I DECLINED ALL WORK AND FILE A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM. MY CAR WAS RUNNING FINE WHEN I TOOK IT THE FIRST TIME. HEADLIGHTS BURNING OUT FREQUENTLY WAS THE FIRST SIGN OF PROBLEMS, REPLACED THEM AS THE DEALER SAID THIS WAS INHERENT TO THE 2001 ELANTRA. IN AUGUST 2006 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ALSO, THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT WAS ON, HEADLIGHT OUT AGAIN, TOOK CAR TO DEALER, THEY CALLED BACK AND SAID THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD BEEN OVER CHARGING AND NOT ONLY WAS THE OVER CHARGING BURNING OUT THE HEADLIGHTS IT ALSO HAD TAKEN OUT THE CRUISE CONTROL MODULE, AND AIR BAG MODULE. CAR HAD ONLY 42000 MILES ON IT, AND WAS 2 WEEKS FROM BEING OUT OF THE 5 YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. WELL HERE IT IS 6 MONTHS LATER AND 47000 MILES AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON, I HAVE SINCE PURCHASED A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL TO READ THE CODES. THE CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH AT IDLE. THE CODES CAME UP AS MIS FIRE ON CYLINDER 3, TPS SENSOR FAILURE AND MAP BAROMETER FAILURE. I REPLACED THE PLUGS AND WIRES, ENGINE STILL RAN ROUGH. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER THEY REPLACED THE TPS, STILL RUNNING ROUGH, THEY SUGGESTED THAT BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY TPS THAT THE EXCESSIVE DUMPING OF FUEL INTO THE JETS COULD HAVE CAUSED ONE OF THEM TO BE CLOGGED. I HAD THEM CLEAN THE JETS AS WELL AS REPLACE THE PLUGS AND WIRES AGAIN (THEY HAD ALSO FOUND THAT #3 WIRE HAD BEEN ARCING.) THIS TOOK CARE OF THE IDLE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND THE NEXT DAY DRIVING THE CAR WOULD SURGE BETWEEN 3RD AND 4TH GEAR, ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON. STILL HAVE THE MAP ERROR. DEALER ENDED UP REPLACING THE MAP SENSOR. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALER, THE CONSUMER DIVISION OF HYUNDAI, THE CEO OF HYUNDAI OF MY CONCERNS AND ALL THEY HAVE OFFERED TO DO IS SPLIT THE PART, ONLY, WITH ME AT 50%. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THIS IS A RESPONSIBLE SOLUTION FOR A COMPANY TO TAKE ON A PART FROM THE MANUFACTURER THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. IT HAS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE TO HAVE FAULTY AIRBAGS! THE BALL JOINTS CRACKED WHICH CAUSED THE FRONT LEFT TIRE TO BECOME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. ON ONE OCCASION BOTH LAMPS FAILED WITHIN A TWO WEEKS AND BEFORE I COULD REPLACE THE FIRST FAILED ONE RESULTING IN A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS SITUATION WHERE I WOULD HAVE HAD NO HEADLIGHTS. EACH TIME MY LOCAL HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER HAS REPLACED THEM AND ON AT LEAST ONE OCCASION, MADE COMMENTS SUGGESTING THIS WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH MY MAKE/MODEL VEHICLE. BOTH SUN VISOR PLASTIC CLIPS THAT HOLD THE VISOR IN PLACE BROKE OFF AND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THE VISOR IS BROKEN AT THE SWIVEL ARM. ALL OF THE SMALL PLASTIC DOOR PLUGS HAVE FELL OUT.
