My clutch is slipping already. Ive owned the car for six months and the previous owner repaced the cluch, and he o ly owned the car for 10 months. My previous standard transmission car went through 1 clutvh in the 15 years i owned it. Something must be defective. I do not know what the situation will be when it goes out all the way , i just really hope it does not hurt anyone. Becaus e of circumstancesthe damage to me and my life is quite great. And god please dont let it physically hurt me on top of the fact i vary well may go to prison for something i absolutlly did not do.i worked out of state and without my car i will not make it to court. Since i lost my job because of this incident i did not do, i cannot fix the car before it goes all the way out. Once again please god let no one get huet by my car, please please please

CLUTCH FAILS TO DISENGAGE. THIS IS MOST DANGEROUS WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED IN GEAR(AS WHEN PARKED ON A HILL WITH THE REAR OF THE FRONT WHEELS TURNED TO CURB, AND AN ATTEMPT IS MADE TO START VEHICLE BY PUSHING CLUTCH PEDAL DOWN AND ACTIVATING IGNITION, THE VEHICLE MAY START WITH CLUTCH ENGAGED, AND PROPEL THE VEHICLE INTO STREET AND INTO TH E LANE WHERE TRAFFIC IS APPROACHING FROM BEHIND, AND THEREFORE OUT OF SIGHT. OTHER DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ARE ATTEMPTS ARE MADE TO START VEHICLE ARE MADE IN CROWDED PARKING LOTS WHERE PEDESTRIANS MIGHT BE WALKING BEHIND CAR, AND VEHICLE IS PROPELLED REARWARD. ADDITIONALLY, IF ATTEMPTS ARE MADE TO STOP QUICKLY AS WHEN A CAR PU;LLS OUT IN FRONT OF YOU AS IN AN INTERSECTION, THE CLUTCH MIGHT NOT DISENGAGE, AND THE INERTIAL POWER OF THE ENGINE MIGHT OVERPOWER THE BRAKES, AND VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE FORWARD UNTIL ENGINE POWER IS OVERCOME BY BRAKE POWER INCIDENT EACH OF THESE SITUATIONS HAS HAPPENED TO ME, BUT I HAVE MANAGED, SO FAR, TO AVOID THE SUGGESTED RESULTS.

MY TIBURON WAS FINE A FEW DAYS AGO BUT RECENTLY STARTED GIVING ME PROBLEMS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR SHIFTING INTO REVERSE WHILE THE CAR IS STOPPED. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A FAULTY MODEL OF CLUTCH. ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS NOT YET BEEN BROUGHT UP BY HYUNDAI FOR A FACTORY RECALL

I BOUGHT THE CAR AND LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE REPAIR RECORDS AND THE CLUTCH HAD BEEN REPLACED ABOUT 12000 MILES AGO AND I CAN PUSH THE CLUTCH IN AND IT IS SLIPPING HORRIBLE, I CAN PUSH THE CLUTCH ALL THE WAY DOWN AND IT WILL SLIP AND GRIND EVERY GEAR AS IF I'M TRYING TO SHIFT WITHOUT THE CLUTCH. I EVEN STOPPED DOWNSHIFTING BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR WITHOUT HORRIBLY GRINDING! I HAD A 2006 TIBURON HYUNDAI. ON JUNE 25TH I WAS IN A ROLE OVER ACCIDENT AND NOT ONE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. I FEEL HYUNDAI HAS GIVEN FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. NOW THE INSURANCE IS CLAIMING IT A TOTAL LOSS AND HYUNDAI IS WANTING TO TAKE OVER THE VEHICLE AND USE IT FOR SALVAGE WITH OUT RECOGNIZING THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING. I HAVE A 2006 HYUNDAI, TIBURON GT WITH THE 2.7 LITRE V-6 AND 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. AFTER SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR, THE CAR JERKS (LIKE WHEN YOU 1ST LEARN TO DRIVE A MANUAL) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE CAME VERY CLOSE TO BEING REAR ENDED WHEN THIS HAPPENS!!! I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 HYUNDAI TIBURON IN FEBRUARY 2006. I HAVE HAD AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT. MY CAR HAS ALWAYS PULLED RIGHT. WE HAVE PURCHASED NEW TIRES AND ALIGNMENTS EVERY SIX MONTHS AND JUST RECENTLY HAD A BOLT KIT PUT ON IT ALSO. I WENT TO A DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAD THEM LOOK AT MY CAR AFTER I HAD JUST HAD IT ALIGNED AND HAD TIRES PUT ON. THE CAR WAS STILL PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THEY PUT IT ON AN ALIGNMENT MACHINE AND SAID THAT NOTHING SHOULD BE WRONG WITH IT BECAUSE IT WAS SHOWING AS BEING ALIGNED. I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH BOTH THE FTC AND THE BBB AUTO LINE. WAS DRIVING EAST ON I-70 CAR STARTED SHAKING AND HEARD A LOW ROAR. THOUGHT IT WAS THE ROAD. I GOT OFF EXIT 124 I BELIEVE AND CHECKED TIRES. ALL LOOKED NORMAL.. CHECKED TIRED PRESSURES ALL WAS 32 OR 34 PSI. I THOUGH MAYBE IT WAS THE ROAD SO I CONTINUED TO EXIT 126EAST ON I 70 GOT OFF EXIT BECAUSE I HEARD THE SAME NOISE. I THEN DROVE THE CAR AROUND THE TRUCKSTOP AND LISTENED TO THE TIRES.. REAR PASSENGER WAS MAKING A HORRIBLE NOISE SO I DECIDED TO TURN BACK AROUND AND COME BACK HOME EVEN THOUGH THE TIRES LOOKED FINE. I PULLED OUT OF THE TRUCK STOP AND OVER THE BRIDGE TO GO WEST ON I-70 HEADING ABOUT 20MPH AND HEARD A LOUD POP. THE TIRE BLEW OUT.. CONTINUED OVER THE BRIDGE TO THE PILOT TRUCK STOP AND NOTICED THERE WAS STILL AIR IN THE TIRE.. I PROCEEDED TO TAKE THE TIRE OFF AND FOUND THAT THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE SPLIT AT THE SEAM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI TIBURON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-65 MPH, THE FOG LIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT-OFF. ADDITIONALLY, THE SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY CHANGED BY INCREASING AND DECREASING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE FOG LIGHTS WERE TURNED-OFF, THE ISSUE WENT AWAY. BRAND NEW CAR AND ENGINE WENT OUT. DEALER SAID I DIDN'T HAVE THE OIL CHANGED WHICH CAUSED CRITICAL FAILURE WITH ENGINE. AFTER ALMOST 2 YEARS FIGHTING WITH DEALER I GAVE UP. I SAVED 5K TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE INSTALLED WITH AN OUTSIDE DEALER WITH THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MILEAGE. TODAY CAR IS OVERHEATING AND ACTING LIKE THE ORIGINAL ENGINE I HAD. I WAS IN FAIRLY HEAVY TRAFFIC TRAVELING 65-70 MPH AND ANOTHER CAR SWERVED IN FRONT AFTER PASSING ME (ON THE RIGHT) AND WHEN I WENT TO APPLY BRAKES THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE. I AGAIN APPLIED BRAKES AND NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT WORK THEY ALSO DIDN'T DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I STARTED TO PANIC AND APPLIED THE CLUTCH AND TRIED TO DOWNSHIFT. I HAD SECONDS TO RESPOND AND A GAP IN TRAFFIC BEHIND ME SO I NEEDED TO GET OVER TO RIGHT SHOULDER AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE (I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE) I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND STARTED TO APPLY THE HAND-BRAKE SLOWLY AT FIRST. AS I ENTERED THE RIGHT LANE AND NEARED THE SHOULDER (OUT OF TRAFFIC) I APPLIED THE HAND BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD AND SIMULTANEOUSLY TURNED OFF THE IGNITION WHEN THE CAR HAD SLOWED ENOUGH. I SHOULD ALSO MENTION THAT UPON COMING TO A STOP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS SOLID AND STAYED ON EVEN AFTER SHUTTING DOWN AND RESTARTING THE CAR. IT REMAINED ON UNTIL I GOT THE CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER. I'M OK AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE (NO DAMAGE TO ME OR CAR) BUT THE DEALER WHO SERVICED THE CAR TOLD ME THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS SENDING ERRONEOUS CODES TO MULTIPLE 'SYSTEMS' AT ONCE. I HAVE THEIR REPORT AND THE DOCUMENTATION ON THE SOFTWARE UPDATE THEY APPLIED TO THE CAR'S COMPUTER. THEY DIDN'T REPLACE THE COMPUTER JUST THE SOFTWARE! THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IN ANOTHER SITUATION. IT WAS SCARY AS HELL AND I'M STILL SOMEWHAT SHAKEN. DRIVING WEST BOUND ON INTERSTATE 10 FWY APPROXIMATE TIME 2:30A.M. I HAD A TIRE BLOWOUT. THE BLOWOUT IN TURN MADE ME LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND I WENT INTO A SPIN CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO A POST ON THE SIDE OF THE FWY. I BOUGHT A 2006 HYUNDAI TIBURON. THE CAR NOW HAS ONLY 32,000 MILES AND I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUTCH. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM INSPECT A LOUD TICKING NOISE IN FEB.2008. THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME IMMEDIATELY THAT IT WAS THE CLUTCH BEARING MAKING THE NOISE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I TOLD THEM OK AND ASKED THEM TO FIX IT. TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM, AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I LEFT MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP AND CALLED LATER TO CHECK ON THE CAR. THEY ONCE AGAIN SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE CLUTCH BEARING AND I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE CLUTCH FOR $900. AFTER COMPLAINING TO HYUNDAI CORPORATE. THE DEALER THEN STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETELY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, AND COULD NOT TELL ME WHO THE PERSON WHOM I TALKED TO. I LEFT MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. I RECENTLY TOOK THE CAR BACK IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. ONLY AT THIS POINT, THE CLUTCH PEDAL WAS MAKING A GRINDING FEELING. I HAVE TO PUT ABOUT 20LBS. PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL TO EASILY ENGAGE 1ST GEAR OR REVERSE FOR THAT MATTER. AT MY LAST VISIT, THEY MOCKED ME AND TRIED TO CHANGE THE TOPIC. THEN TOLD ME THEY WOULD ORDER THE CLUTCH BEARING AND REPLACE IT. BUT ENSURED ME THAT THEY CLUTCH STILL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I TRIED TO EXPLAIN HOW I DO NOT RACE THE CAR, THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME IN THE TEN YEARS HE HAS BEEN THERE, ONLY ONE PERSON ADMITTED BURNING UP THE CLUTCH. AT THIS POINT I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, CALLED A LIAR, AND DENIED THE WARRANTY SERVICES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RENDERED TO ME. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE. EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2006 HYUNDAI TIBURON IN MARCH 2006, I HAVE HAD AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. MY CAR ALWAYS PULLED RIGHT. AFTER SPENDING MONEY FOR ALIGNMENT NEW TIRES,AND RIMS A FRIEND INFORMED ME OF A SERVICE BULLETIN. I WENT TO A DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAD CORRECTED MY VEHICLE PER THE SERVICE BULLETIN. ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) WEBSITE, NHTSA ITEM NUMBER 10015876, HYUNDAI ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 0550001, FOR ?FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT ?EX CAM XR CAMBER ANGLE ADJUSTING BOLTS.? THIS HAS STILL NOT FIXED MY PROBLEM. SO FAR I HAVE SPENT FOR FOUR ALIGNMENTS, SIX NEW TIRES, AND MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 16'000 MILES. PLEASE ASK HYUNDAI TO FIX THE ALIGNMENT PROBLEM PROPERLY AND ALSO REIMBURSE US FOR OUR EXPENSES. *JB

MY DAUGHTER HAS A 2006 TIBURON AND HAS BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE WHEEL BEARINGS GOING OUT OF IT. IT WAS IN THE SHOP TO GET THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING FIXED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THE MONTH AFTER THAT SHE STARTED HEARING THE SAME NOISE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR THE PASSENGER SIDE . WELL I WAS IN FRONT OF HER IN MY CAR WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL JUST BROKE OFF OF THE CAR AND MADE HER CRASH INTO A GUARD RAIL HEAD ON SHE WAS HURT AND IS HAVING BACK PROBLEMS FROM THE IMPACT 2 OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THIS CAR IS A HAZARD TO HAVE ON THE ROAD . THE SUNROOF ALSO FELL APART AND THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK HALF THE TIME. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS CAR TO ANYONE. *TR

I HAVE A 2006 TIBURON AND HAVE ALREADY HAD TO HAVE IT IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES. FOR THE SUNROOF, WHICH STILL DOES NOT WORK RIGHT AND THE TRANSMISSION. NOW IT IS STARTING TO BE SLUGGISH AGAIN. I DON'T TRASH MY CAR OR HOT ROD IT EITHER. THE MOTOR IN THE SUNROOF HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION HAS JUST BEEN REPROGRAMMED EACH TIME SO WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL BE DONE THIS TIME. *NM

ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 25, 2006 MY SON WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND HE HAD NO CONTROL AND COULD NOT GET HIS CAR TO STOP AND HE HIT A TREE. HE AND HIS PASSENGER WERE FORTUNATELY WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS AND DID NOT GET THROWN OUT OF THE CAR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT EVEN DEPLOY. NONE OF THEM. CAR TAKEN TO BODY SHOP FOR REPAIR AS IT WAS UNDRIVEABLE. DRIVER AND PASSENGER DID NOT GO TO ER, HOWEVER, THEY DID HAVE WHIPLASH-TYPE INJURIES AND PASSENGER JAMMED HIS FINGER. *NM
