I have been experiencing an abnormal ticking noise coming from the right side of the motor on my motorcycle. I have taken it to the dealership several times, and they, to my frustration tell me that the noise is normal valve train noise. I have been an avid motorcycle enthusiast for all 30 of my adult years. I have no doubt the noise is abnormal as well as increasing in loudness at a substantial rate. I've watched and listened to countless hours of youtube videos as well as read all the comments on every video having to do with cam chain tensioners failing and the noises that are produced. These videos, the majority of which the mc sounded just like mine. The Kawasaki Corp. did a recall for this very thing. I truly feel that the recall should have included my mc. The noise started at approximately 1000 miles. The mc has 3200 miles now, but the last 200 miles on the odo. the noise level has become significantly louder. The worry I have is not necessarily the engine being damaged( I have extended warranty) but is of the engine siezing up at high speed such as on the freeway. IF THIS LIKELY SENARIO WAS TO HAPPEN IT WOULD VERY LIKELY CAUSE ME TO LOOSE CONTROL AND/OR GET RUNOVER AND KILLED. It is dangerous enough just slowing for traffic. As for why the employees at the dealership were so reluctant to admit the noise is abnormal is beyond me. Why do a recall and not be willing to accept the possibility of needing to increase the size and scope of vehicles being affected. Because of my work schedule, I have not been able to speak or even chat with a representative of Kawasaki yet, but will continue to try when able. Thank you for your time. Respectfully, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
