I had just gotten off the highway it was a rainy day and pulled into my driveway when airbag deployed on its own. I am lucky to be alive. I purchased this vehicle about 2 yrs or so ago and ran carfax that showed recall was fixed by manufacturer. I contacted Mercedes corporate office and it’s been almost two weeks with me calling and emailing w no call backs or any resolution. I don’t have a car and could have been seriously injured. Please help.

I was driving in a parking lot and suddenly my air bag deployed for no reason I did not hit anyone or get hit for the airbag to deploy. Suffered some bruising on my right forearm and in my left ear I still hear ringing from the airbag deploying.

The contact sustained bruises and scratches on his forearm, but medical attention was not received. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light and the check engine warning light intermittently illuminated and then turned off independently. Additionally, the “Service Air Bags” message was displayed. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall and that the front passenger’s side air bag was previously replaced. The failure mileage was 127,328.

"Front Right Malfunction Service Required." Recently purchased vehicle, dealer performed recalibration before sale (error did not display during test drive or before purchase). 30 minutes after purchase notification popped up, dealer agreed to pay for repair. Took to non-purchasing Mercedes dealer, they were able to reproduce and quoted for $4179. Repair included seat replacement and height adjustment replacement. Purchasing dealer then refused repair The error pops up randomly, with person in passenger seat and without. Afraid to have anyone ride as a passenger, if a wreck occurs the airbag could not deploy.

Vehicle Information: Year: 2013 Make: Mercedes-Benz Model: C300 (4MATIC) Approximate Mileage: 126,026 Component: Latches/Locks/Linkages – Interior Door Handle Summary of Issue: On October 10, 2025, the interior driver-side door handle on my 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300 broke, making it impossible to open the driver’s door from the inside. The handle broke through normal use upon trying to open the car door from the drivers side. The only way to exit the vehicle now is to roll down the window and reach around to use the exterior handle. On October 14, 2025, I spoke to two Mercedes-Benz dealerships in my area. They both confirmed this is a recurring problem on this model but stated there is no recall. One of them physically inspected the vehicle door problem. I believe the actual broken replacement part costs about $50. However, according to these same authorized Mercedes Benz repair shops I spoke to, Mercedes-Benz REQUIRES replacing the entire door panel assembly, which costs between $950 and $1,480 in labor and parts. This is not a reasonable or safe solution for such a critical component. This poses a serious safety hazard. In the event of a fire, collision, electrical failure, or if the windows become inoperable, the driver (myself) could become trapped inside the vehicle, leading to potential injury or death! I strongly urge the NHTSA to investigate this recurring defect, as it directly affects occupant safety and the ability to exit the vehicle in an emergency. The interior door handle of the driver's side door snapped, which does not allow the driver to open the door at all. In the event of a crash, fire, or emergency, the door can only be opened from the exterior. This is a widespread issue with this model of car, which Mercedes-Benz is very aware of. There are hundreds of videos and online discussions of this common saferty issue that Mercedes refuses to make right. This is a risk for the safety of all drivers of these vehicles. The car has been inspected and confirmed by a MB dealer. There were no warning indications before or after this happened. Mercedes Benz wants $1200 to fix this obvious defect.

The driver side indoor handle keeps breaking. I have repaired mine 4 times but still keep breaking. The connector attached to the handle is so fragile it cant withstand regular use. why hasnt this been recalled by mercedes? One repair costs 1400 dollars.

rear subframe severe corrosion and cracking, have pictures of it the corrosion severity, yes available upon inspection. mechanic told me my 2 rear wheels can fall out completely and leave me with no control over the car. the car has been inspected by a certified independent service center. No. and no warning lights and no symptoms just the rear subframe cracking on the verge of falling off

Recently my Mercedes has been pulling and swaying to the side while breaking even at low speeds.Yesterday I got my 2 front tires replaced and asked them to take a look at what could be causing my rear end to pull.When I returned to pick up my car they informed me my rear subframe was completely decayed/rusted through and not safe to continue driving.

The rear subframe is cracked. This puts myself at risk and others if vehicle is involved in an accident. The problem has been confirmed by two independent service dealers. The vehicle has only been inspected by independent dealers. No warning lights.

Excessive rust has caused a separation of the lower control arm from the rear sub frame. From Google searches this appears to be a common safety defect in the manufacturing of these vehicles. Control arm separation causes drive ability and stability issues that can lead to loss of control of said vehicle leading to accidents that can cause serious bodily injuries including death. Why hasn't Mercedes been forced to recall the affected vehicles in the United States as they have been in several other countries?

Rear subframe rust through, affecting the function of control arm. When braking mildly caused the forward motion of vehicle to swerve into oncoming traffic. It has been reported and is in their possession. There was a small clicking noise like a possible loose shock absorber, a few times in the past month. Then two days ago, the sound became stronger including a clicking noise like two pieces of sheet metal torn passing each other. Upon personal inspection I found severe rust through on the subframe on the left side in front of the left drivers side rear tire. Corporate has sent a letter extending the warranty for that part. Photos can be provided.

There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the timing chain tensioners were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had experienced the failure with the timing chain tensioner on three separate occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIMING CHAIN TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER THAT HAS GONE BAD. EVEN THOUGHT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PROBLEMS REPORTED, MERCEDES WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A RECALL PROBLEM. MY SAFTY IS AT RISK IF MY ENGINE BECOMES DISABLED ON THE HYWAY.

Rear subframe rusted out and failed. This caused vehicle to suddenly veer to left upon braking. Was fortunate to avoid hitting something. Dealer says common problem but Mercedes isn’t recalling/replacing defective subframes.

The subframe of my car is completed rotted out. I've been reading MB forums and threads and this seems to be a universal issue. There needs to be a recall. My car started to giveway while driving down the highway. It took it to a mechanic and that's when the subframe rot was discovered. This is a major issue and needs to be made right with Merecedes!

Hola a todos. hace 3 meses compre un mercedes benz c250 año 2012 en argentina. A eso de tener un mes el auto salí a la ruta. (Acá en argentina es muy normal que las rutas sean de un solo carril y doble mano, por lo que hacer un adelantamiento tiene que ser una maniobra muy precisa). Al querer acelerar mi auto a fondo se me cortó la aceleración bruscamente. Perdió la potencia y me encendió la luz amarilla del check engine. Por suerte pude llegar a pasar. Legué a mi casa sorprendido e investigué en las redes. Me encuentro con que la bomba de alta presion de mi vehículo tiene una falla (aparentemente le pasó a mucha gente) Espero que estas quejas lleguen a las autoridades de mercedes benz y se hagan responsables antes de que esta falla provoque un accidente mortal. ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Hello everyone. Three months ago, I bought a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 in Argentina. About a month after I had the car, I hit the road. (Here in Argentina, it's very common for roads to be single-lane, two-way, so overtaking requires very precise maneuvering.) When I tried to accelerate my car fully, the acceleration abruptly cut out. I lost power and the yellow check engine light came on. Luckily, I was able to get through. I arrived home, surprised, and I did some research online. I discovered that my vehicle's high-pressure pump was faulty (apparently, it's happened to a lot of people). I hope these complaints reach the Mercedes-Benz authorities and they take responsibility before this fault causes a fatal accident.

Fuel tank is leaking at connection between fill tube and tank. Multiple recalls have been issued apparently for similar problems with cars of other years. With less than 1/2 tank, the fuel leak is not as pronounced. With the tank full, the tank drips fuel. Fire department in Riverside was called and confirmed issue. Upon bringing vehicle to Clearwater Mercedes and other mechanics, the problem was confirmed. Dealership says that Mercedes Benz denies that the problem is theirs to resolve. Dealership fixed other issue that was not producing symptoms but stated that the cost to resolve was $5000.00 (about the value of the car at this point).

RECALL ON MY CAR IS STILL WAITING TO BE FIXED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN APRIL 2013. MILEAGE TO DATE IS ONLY 22, 271 MILES. I AM NOW BACK IN CANADA BUT COULD NOT BRING MY CAR TO CANADA BECAUSE THERE IS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL. IN MAY 2018, THE RECALL ON STEERING WAS FIXED. BECAUSE I DO NOT LIVE IN CALIFORNIA ANYMORE, IT IS IN A GARAGE WASTING AWAY. I ONLY USSE THE CAR IN MY YEARLY VISITS TO CHECK ON IT. LAST 2018, I USED THE CAR FOR LESS THAN 1,000 MILES. IN 2019, I HAVE NOT USED THE CAR. LAST FEB 2020, I REQUESTED A FRIEND TO HAVE MY CAR CHECKED AT AN MB DEALERSHIP (FLETCHER JONES IN FREMONT, CA). THEY REPLACED THE WHOLE STEERING MECHANISM BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING OIL PROFUSELY. I COMPLAINED THAT SINCE THE RECALL ON THE STEERING WAS ONLY FIXED IN MAY 2018 AND USED THE CAR LESS THAN 1,000 MILES, HOW CAN THE STEERING MECHANISM DAMAGED AS SUCH. ALSO, ALTHOUGH THE CAR IS ALMOST 7 YEARS OLD, THE TOTAL MILEAGE ON THE CAR IS ONLY 22. 291 MILES. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT IN THIS PART? I HAVE BEEN HAVING CONSTANT ISSUES WITH THE STEERING AND AIRBAG LIGHTS GOING ON. I WAS ALSO IN A BAD REAR END WRECK IN 2016 AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE BEEN CALLING SANTANDER CONSUMERS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY DON'T CARE AND ARE STILL MAKING ME PAY MY MORE. THE MERCEDES DEALER HAS SAID THAT THE RECALLS ARE PENDING AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE. SO I HAVE STOPPED MAKING PAYMENTS BECAUSE I HAVE A TODDLER AND WILL NOT DRIVE A DANGEROUS CAR AND THE CAR WAS RECENTLY REPOSSESSED LAST WEEK. THE AIRBAG DEPLOY LIGHTS CONSTANTLY STAY ON INDICATING THEY ARE NOT WORKING AND THE STEERING KEEPS LOCKING UP. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND IN MOTION.

I WENT TO AN AUTHORIZED MB DEALER AND THEY DID THE RECALL FOR THE STEERING COLUMN BUT NOT FOR THE AIR BAGS. I ALSO BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE DUE TO THE FACT THAT OIL HAS SIPHONED ITS WAY UP THE CAM MAGNETS AND SOLENOIDS THRU THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS TO THE MAIN FUEL COMPUTER AND HAS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO BE OUT OF TIMING. ACCORDING TO YOUR AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP'S TECH THIS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SEIZE. ACCORDING TO RESEARCH THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH RECALLS FOR OTHER ENGINES BUT IS STILL HAPPENING ON NUMEROUS MERCEDES BENZ VEHICLES.

TAKATA INFLATORS - I WAS SOLD A MERCEDES C250 BY AN AUTHORIZED MERCEDES DEALERSHIP AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE IN MARCH 2016. WHILE SELLING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP SHOWED ME A CARFAX REPORT WITH NO OPEN RECALLS. THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE JAN 2016 IMPLYING THAT I WAS SOLD THE VEHICLE USING FRAUDULENT INFORMATION. ALSO SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS WITH NO REMEDY AS THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THEY CANNTO HELP SOLVE THIS.

Broke rear subframe while driving. Made it home discovered the left rear suspension is almost completely detached from the vehicle. Researched the problem and discovered it’s a known issue and a warranty extension has been provided for some vehicles including some models of my particular year and model but after contacting Mercedes is seems mine is not.

The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who discovered that the rear suspension cross member was fractured due to severe rust. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer who confirmed the failure, but no repair was performed. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.

There is a defect in the subframe of the vehicle which causes it to corrode and rust out. Apparently, this is a known issue with certain years and models, and has already been recalled in Europe, but not the US.

while driving in an emergency braking situation the car went left...so much so i lost control and spun 360 degrees. i thought that wasnt rite...upon investigation it turns out the right rear torque arm was no longer connected..the cradle or sub frame. it was rotted thru causing the arm to break off !!....car is not drivable and mercedes wont repair it... someone is going to get killed if it hasnt happened already !!

The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to immediately respond while turning the steering wheel. After stopping the vehicle and attempting to reverse, it was discovered that the front wheels would no longer turn while turning the steering wheel in either direction. The vehicle was later towed to the residence. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V252000 (Steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 95,000.

AFTER OWNING A CPO,FOR ABOUT5 YEARS. RECENTLY THE TILT/ MECHANISM FAILED TO OPERATE. I TOOK IT TO DEALER AND WITHOUT ANY TOOLS IN HIS HANDS HE FIXED IT.ABOUT 6MONTHS IT WORKED FINE,THEN IT STOPPED.I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER AND THE ADVISOR THAT FIXED IT IS NO LONGER WORKING THERE,NOBODY ELSE HAD EVER HEARD OF THIS METHOD?I'M NOT DREAMING HE GAVE ME HIS CARD AFTERWARDS,SO HE DOES EXIST..

WHILE PULLING INTO GARAGE, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN PLACE AND WOULD NOT TURN. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A FAULTY ESL (ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK), THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AT A COST TO ME OF $1,140.70. MERCEDES BENZ USA REFUSED TO REIMBURSE.

SLICING MY HAND OPEN ON MY STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED. I WAS AT THE CAR WASH THE CAR WAS SITTING STILL, THE KEYS WERE NOT IN I THE IGNITION AND DRIVER DOOR WAS OPEN. I REACHED MY ARM THROUGH THE TOP OPENING OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO INSERT MY KEY FOB AND START MY CAR. WHEN I STARTED PULLING MY ARM BACK THROUGH, THE METALLIC TRIM ON TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL FRAYED AND SLICED OPEN MY MIDDLE FINGER ON MY RIGHT HAND. The contact stated that the turn signal stopped working on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the main dash connectors and instrument panel had short circuited and nearly caught on fire. The independent mechanic stated that fuses and the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. THE DAY IN WHICH MY CAR STOPPED WORKING, PRIOR MY VEHICLE WAS OPERATING PROPERLY NO ISSUES PRESENTED. THE IGNITION STARTED WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTIONS OR ISSUES. I DROVE MY CAR TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS THE DAY I ENCOUNTERED MY ISSUES. I WENT OUT TO MY CAR WHICH WAS STATIONARY, PARKED AT MY RESIDENCE AND PRESSED THE PUSH START BUTTON AND IT WOULD NOT POWER ON. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS, I CALLED AAA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO CHECK IF IT COULD POSSIBLY BE MY BATTERY, BUT TO OUR SURPRISE THE BATTERY WAS PERFECTLY FINE. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO THEN INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS MY ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH THAT WAS BROKEN, AND HE STATED HE WAS NOT EXPERIENCED IN REPLACEMENT AND THAT HE'D REFER ME TO A MERCEDES AUTHORIZED MECHANIC WHO WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP ME. THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR IN THE FRONT UNDER THE DASHBOARD WAS SOAKING WET FROM RAIN WATER. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE WATER GOT INSIDE OF THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING IT AFTER A RAIN STORM AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON ALL THE NEEDLE HANDS WENT DOWN TO ZERO, IT WAS LIKE THE CAR WAS TRYING TO RESTARTING ITSELF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WHILE MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY MY MB C250 WITH 58K MILES SHIFTER SUDDENLY INTO 2ND GEAR. I MOVED ONTO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED THE CAR. THE ENGINE LIGHT IMMEDIATELY ILLUMINATED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF. WHEN I STARTED IT AGAIN THE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. WHEN I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE THERE WAS A LOUD SOUND AND THE CAR JULTED FORWARD. I SHIFT BACK IN PARK BUT IT REPEATED THE SOUND AND JERK. I I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AGAIN (SAME SOUND/JERK) AND PROCEDED AT 30MPH ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY TO A GERMAN AUTO REPAIR SHOP CLOSE BY. THEY CHECKED THE ENGINE CODES AND TOLD ME THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM MUST BE REPLACED. THEY SAID THAT ACCORDING TO THE COMBINATION OF CODES THAT EVERY MAJOR COMPONENT OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT. THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO SPECIFIC REASON THIS WOULD HAPPEN BECAUSE MY TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS FULL AND CLEAN AND THE ENGINE DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH MILES FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT PARTS TO HAVE WORN OUT YET. THEY ALSO SAID THEY TO RESET THE COMPUTER BUT THE CAR WENT BACK INTO "LIMP MODE" AND ALL CODES CAME BACK. THE TRANSMISSION COST PLUS LABOR IS $4150. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRENTEE. UPON INVESTIGATING THIS MODEL AND THE PERTICULAR TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR (221.9) I FOUND HUNDREDS OF OWNERS WITH THE 221.9 HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THIS TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN PUT IN MULTIPLE MB VEHICLES FOR THE PAST DECADE AND RANDOMLY OWNERS REPORT THIER CARS GOING INTO LIMP MODE AND NEEDING NEW TRANSMISSIONS. I BELIEVE MERCEDES HAS NEGLECTED TO RECALL THE PROBLEM BECCAUSE THAT TRANSMISSION IS USED IN SEVERAL MODELS FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY DO JOT WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SO MANY REPAIRS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP MB TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS FAULTY SYSTEM.

The Brake lines in this car rot very early in life span. This is a severe issue as no one would know unless car is brought in for repair. There is already a extended warranty for subframe rotting for my c300 and several other models and years . Both of these should be repaired due to poor manufacturing not just the subframe. Both of these issues even independently put everyone on the road at risk of potential failure. Car has been brought in for repair and has been pointed out to me both by independent party and Mercedes Benz dealership in my area. There are NO WARNINGS also multiple claims for both rusting and rotting

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY EXIT WAS COMING UP SO I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND I COULD NOT SLOW THE CAR DOWN. I HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR - THE RADIO WHERE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND THE VOLUME SPORADICALLY INCREASES AND DECREASES WITH NO RESOLUTION EVEN AFTER DIAGNOSTICS AND SOFTWARE UPDATES PER THE DEALER. THIS, HOWEVER, WAS AN ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE HAD WORSE CONSEQUENCES. AFTER THE COSMETIC DAMAGE IS FIXED, I PLAN TO HAVE MERCEDES RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM.

My wife and the kids we're stranded for hours because of the ESL systems lock the steering wheel and did not allow the car to start or steering wheel to move. She smelled something and pulled over and turned car off. No lights, no way to charge cell phone because no power to the car at all. My family was stranded because of this seems like it's a very very serious issue with a lot of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. As a consumer Mercedes-Benz is using cheap parts which can cause people to lose their lives if the steering wheel is to lock up while driving the motor burns out inside of the ESL module

Mercedes has had an issue with the steering lock for years and continue to not fix the issue. My vehicle would not turn on at random times, and this is due to a fault with the steering lock and key. The worst part of the issue, it’s only solved by Mercedes due to security issues and costs $2000. I was locked out of my car for hours, missing a doctors appointment, and if this was during a snow storm or heavy freeze (I live in CO), this is a potential fatal flaw. I also learned they cannot fix my vehicle for months due to high demand and coming from Germany. Looking online this is a continued problem for over a decade of vehicles and this needs to be resolved either by recall, a price adjustment due to this being a Mercedes flaw, or give the capability to certified maintenance locations to do the job for a fraction of the price (I see the price of the part is marginal compared to the upcharge by the dealer.

I purchased the vehicle in 2015, and a few months ago I started having issues with the steering wheel, as well as an error message with the airbag. More recently, I am experiencing issues with my ignition switch, and after doing some research I’m seeing that many people who drive the mage and model of my vehicle are experiencing issues with their ignition switch suddenly going out. I’ve been quoted 2k to repair the issues, but I feel the Mercedes should be responsible for taking care of what seems to be a faughty ignition switch with this particular model. There was no warning, no indication that there was a problem, one day my car just wouldn’t start. I need to report this to make sure buyers are aware with issues with the C300 model for all vehicles that are a 2013 and under.

THE ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK FAILED WHILE IN THE PARKED POSITION. A TINY MOTOR INSIDE HAS BURNED UP AND IT NOW PREVENTS YOU FROM STARTING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT SELL ME A REPLACEMENT TO REPAIR ON MY OWN AND I MUST TAKE IT IN TO THEM FOR REPAIR AT A COST OF OVER $1800.00. THIS IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT FAILURE IN THIS SERIES OF 2008 TO 2014 MERCEDES BENZ. I HAVE A 2005 MERCEDES WHICH DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT AND IS OPERATING CORRECTLY AFTER 15 YEARS.

I bought this car new in 2013. I maintained it at the dealer as per MB recommendations. Last service was in August 2023. Currently had 42K miles on it. Two weeks ago 2 unknown to me lights came on and I took it to the dealer. The diagnosis was total failure due to oil leaking into the computer system. Second problem was water in the subfloor affecting sensors. Coons Mercedes in Catonsville, MD has all records. I was told that the oil leak was not detected because it was internal and due to an engine design. I was informed that there are many others stuck with this problem. I was informed that I was driving a car that could become suddenly uncontrollable. This was very scary. I was told I needed a new car. My insurance company inspected it and determined it was a total loss. I complained to MB headquarters and HQ in Stuttgart. I told them that they need to buy a new car for me. I have not heard from them. If MB know that there is an engine flaw why are they putting peoples' lives at risk?

Car was garage kept and in mint condition, yet the rear subframe has completely rusted through and while breaking the car lurches to the right. Also the breaking performance is noticeably impaired. There was no signs of this failure as the car still looks new, only way of knowing was the near crash while driving and trying to stop.

Went to brake, heard a thump, car proceeded to loose control bearing to the left. Then went into other lane! Could not regain control of the car until it came to a complete stop. No warning light came on,. Took to mechanic, put it on the lift found rear right side of the frame rotted. This car is garage kept, nothing else is rusted on the vehicle. The vehicle is not near any water. This a known problem with this model Mercedes. Spoke with Mercedes Benz USA, was advised not to drive the car, the frame could detach and puncture gas tank!! I have seen the recall for the problem in Canada and Europe and the repairs were covered by Mercedes. Now I have my only mode of transpiration, undriveable and sitting waiting on help!!

Driving my 300 down the highway at around 70MPH and after lightly pressing the break, the car surved into right and left lane. I could have gotten into an accident, but luckily no other car was on the road. Taking my car to the mechanic it was discovered that My 2013 C300 has a rotted subframe, this was not caused by any damage but due to the part not being protected from rust. Rust caused the subframe to rot from the inside out. Many C300 have reported this issue, and the large number of failures on this subframe across my C300 and multiple models is concerning. This is a gross failure of a major safety component that can cause serious injury or death. My research showed this part has been recalled in Canada; MBUSA feels the need to wait to do so until a serious injury or death has occurred. The defective subframe is known and the new part’s design has been amended to take into account this rust issue. MBUSA’s decision exhibits a lack of accountability for a defective part and this issue needs to be promptly addressed for the safety of its customers.

Vehicle was taken in for standard maintenance and I was informed that the rear sub-frame had a rusted through hole on one side and was rusting on the other. This vehicle is well maintained, garaged, and has normal annual maintenance with the dealership. There was no prior warning that this was an issue or "normal wear and tear" was causing this problem. The repair is quoted to be over 5k and I was told it is/will be essential because of a safety issue. Through some brief internet research, it appears like this is a larger problem and could have catastrophic problems if it is not caught before it fails.

The components of the engine being the camshaft adjusters, timing guide, timing chain, valves and pistons that all work to deliver power are faulty and have failed literally mid-drive. I was on a busy interstate during rush hour and nearly lost control of the vehicle as it just powered out while driving at 70 mph then forcing a semi to nearly terminate myself and family. The dependability and safety is abruptly ripped out from underneath you. Without even being able to control the vehicle and it coming to an abrupt, unsafe hault. There were no warning signs. The vehicle has since been looked at and informed me that an extended warranty is in place for half of all the parts and labor above.all should be covered and for safety.my nerves are a wreck and without a way to afford an entirely new engine I am left to contend with car payments for an unsafe undrivable vehicle. Since then the dealership recognized my concerns but has since stated that without a modification to the extended warranty or it being made a recall that there is nothing that can be done.

CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES WITH APPROX. 12,500 MILES ON THEM WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED HAS A BUBBLE ON THE SIDEWALL. THE BUBBLE IS WITHIN A QUARTER OF AN INCH TO THE RIM. CONTINENTAL IS TURNING A DEAF EAR TO THIS MATTER. THE FIRST AND ONLY THING THEY ARE SAYING IS IT IS FROM A POTHOLE. THESE TIRES SHOWED VIRTUALLY VERY LITTLE WEAR. I STAY ON YTOP OF MY VEHICLES CARE AND ALWAYS HAVE THE PROPER INFLATION. AS WELL AS HIGH SPEED BALANCING DONE IN ORDER TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THEM. MY CARS FRONT TIRES ARE A DIFFERENT SIZE THAN THE REAR TIRES, THEREFORE THEY CANNOT BE ROTATED. HENCE THE REASON I STAY ON TOP OF THE PROPER INFLATION AND BALANCING. Discovered a severely "rotted/rusted" rear subframe and one of the passenger side suspension/control arm of the rear passenger side wheel is completely "detached/disconnected" from the rear subframe. During a hard brake, the car will "swing/drift" to the right and is very dangerous and prone to accident/catastrophe. Also, many other 2008-2014 C300 owners already have reported/complaints over the internet. This defect needs to be recalled by the manufacturer. The contact paid for the replacement and service repair of the rear subframe. The contact was informed by a technician that the detached rear control arm may "puncture" the gas tank because of how close it is to it. The vehicle is not recommended to be driven until the repair is made.

NOBODY MENTIONED TO ME THAT THE REAR SUBFRAME IS RUSTED AND IS ABOUT TO CRACK AND FALL APART. WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN I SUDDENLY HAD TO STOP AND THE WHOLE CAR SHIFTED TO THE RIGHT ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH. DROVE HOME AND NOTICED A NOISE EVERY TIME I HIT THE BRAKES. While driving normal highway speed and braking suddenly the car violently pulls to left. Same occurs when driving normal city traffic . Good afternoon I am following up on a major safety issue #11453988 concerning a 2013 C300 Mercedes. I reported this a few weeks ago as this safety defect can cause personnel injury when the defective part fails . As noted earlier during normal braking the car pulls hard to left or right . With normal highway speed driving and emergency braking the car will violently pull left or right possibility into oncoming traffic and or fixed objects . Please reply with update into this major safety defect concern . PS the part number in question has been changed from number 2043500141 with new number 2073509702. This part is not available in the US currently and has a lead time of 30 days from Germany. With the long lead time and the need to travel to work it is a major safety issue that can be avoided. VEHICLE THROTTLE DID NOT RESPOND. INCIDENT OCCURRED TWICE AND WAS REPAIRED TWICE. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 17,500 MILES DRIVEN. IN THE FIRST INCIDENT, WHILE DRIVING IN DRY PAVEMENT AND GOOD WEATHER CONDITIONS ON LOCAL ROADS, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME LESS RESPONSIVE UNTIL IT NO LONGER RESPONDED TO ANY INPUTS AND VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN HOME. INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. DEALER INDICATED THAT CONNECTOR PINS BETWEEN THE THROTTLE BODY AND ECU WAS REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AND 50 MILES LATER, INCIDENT REOCCURS WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ROADS. DRIVER RECOGNIZING SYMPTOMS, PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR. DEALER INDICATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, SENSOR, AND CONNECTOR TO ECU REPLACED.

Bought a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300 4matic on 1/16/23 with only 80k miles. Alignment was off so took it to local Mercedes dealer today on 1/24/23. They advice that the subframe was rusted and not safe to drive, they are keeping it overnight to take a closer look and evaluate. Looked into it and found this is a common issue, experienced by many all over the world. UK has rust protection so they can get it replaced for no extra cost. Why do we have to pay out of pocket? Also did buy the Carfax and showed clean with no issue found before purchasing the vehicle.

Car with just 130,000 miles needs significant subframe and related parts replaced. There are countless discussion boards of similar failures across Mercedes Benz car lines. The estimated cost of repairs at the dealership exceeds $5000 just for subframe work. When braking the car veers to the left and the right end tries to swing around. Again, this is noted on multiple discussion board. MB has consistently demonstrated negligence in addressing this as service advisers state this is not uncommon and is seen often. A recall/replacement is warranted.

While my car was being inspected at the Mercedes dealer from who I purchased the car, I was informed that the rear subframe was rusting out, needed to be replaced immediately (at the cost of $4250) as it is unsafe to drive and that the result could be catastrophic if I continued to drive it. They explained that they are having this problem with other C300 models in the US, Canada and Germany, but there has not been a recall in the USA. They told me that it might be the road salt as this is only happening in the North East. If this were true than I would think other parts of the undercarriage would be rusted or this would occur in other models too. They are well aware of this issue but have neglected to contact owners therefore putting my life and the life of my family at risk. The NHTSA needs to investigate and recall these vehicles immediately before someone is killed. Seems to me they are using sub standard materials and while having knowledge of this issue, should be held accountable. Thank You.

Upon taking the vehicle to the dealer, they discovered corrosion underneath the rear subframe. The corrosion caused 2-inch sized holes to be formed on the passenger’s side of the rear subframe. The dealer also discovered corrosion on the wire of one of the seats which resulted in the air bag warning light being illuminated. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and agreed to cover 50% of the cost for repair of the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

The vehicle was represented to me as safe to drive, with no major mechanical issues, and that it would pass emissions after only a simple minor fix. After I took possession, the check engine light came on. The car began running rough and showing hesitation. A scan immediately showed a camshaft position sensor fault, cylinder misfire, lean fuel condition, and oxygen sensor/emissions faults. I was also told by a professional shop that the timing chain may be failing. I was then warned that these problems can cause power loss or engine stalling while driving, and that the vehicle in this condition would likely not pass a legal emissions inspection. I was never told about any of these safety or emissions problems before taking the vehicle. This situation creates a safety risk because sudden loss of engine power or stalling can happen in traffic.

The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that the fuel tank was leaking after refueling. The fuel had leaked out to half tank. The Fire Department was called, but no assistance was provided. The contact stated that there was a puddle of fuel in the driveway. Additionally, the passenger’s air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the sensor in the module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the dealer confirmed that the leak was coming from the filler tube entering the fuel tank. The dealer recommended replacing the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there were no recalls on the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

On several instances of breaking, my 2013 Mercedes Benz C300 pulls hard to the right and becomes very unstable. I assumed it was a brake problem by the way the car drove. I took it to my mechanic, who immediately identified the rear subframe had rusted so much that a control arm had broken loose from the subframe. The rear subframe acts as a foundation for the rear suspension and holds the backend together. Fortunately I was able to get this diagnosed prior to a serious accident. The car gets very unstable, especially at higher speeds, when braking. There are no warning lights that will catch this. This problem absolutely places both passengers and other cars on the road at risk of a collision when braking, especially on the highway at higher speeds. I am going to contact a local Mercedes Benz dealer to evaluate replacement of the damaged parts to ensure the car is safe to drive following repair. Based on the links below, it sounds like a known issue at Mercedes Benz. I was never notified of any issues or from prior service visits, or via mail notice from the manufacturer. The ESP, or Electronic Stability Control system can put the car into limp mode unexpectedly. Say you are driving on route 66 going 50 mph. The ESP system can turn off if a wheel speed sensor or yaw sensor is on the way out. This causes the car to suddenly dramatically brake and limit speed to 5 mph on the highway. Risk of high speed rear end collision and mortality to the driver.

When breaking at high speeds, the car feels like I will lose control of it. Has happened a few times and I thought I was going to hit the neighboring car. Took it to a repair shop and found out that the rear driver side subframe Is completely rotted out and the rear control arm is hanging. The car only has about 97,500 miles on it, has not been driven in high salt areas, and doesn’t have any other signs of rust. Two auto body shops have told me this shouldn’t happen on a car with that low mileage, and these cars, Mercedes c300s, are known to have this defect.

This caused vehicle braking to become extremely unstable and dangerous, even at low/medium speed. The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the steering wheel started shaking. The contact then depressed the brake pedal causing the vehicle to drift. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the rear-subframe was severely rusted causing a control link to fracture. The contact was informed that the control link and subframe needed to be replaced on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

I needed new tires and the tire dealer reported that my subframe is rotted bilaterally. He suggested I do not invest in tires until it is replaced and to notify Mercedes as there may be a recall. This defect caused instability of the frame that secures the tires. The safety risk should go without saying. Any rotted structure that supports the car and/or secures the tires is an obvious safety risk. After reading the multiple complaints posted under “structure” for this make and model, it appears that yes, this problem has been reproduced and confirmed by other owners and mechanics. I am presently picking up my car from the tire dealer and driving it directly to the Mercedes dealership…so they will be aware and able to inspect it. There were no warnings or alerts that my subframe rotted. I do not believe this is something that could be measured with a sensor to trigger an alert electronically.

I noticed that my car was pulling heavy to the left when I stop and strange noise in the rear of the car, after taking the car to the mechanic he told me that the car rear subframe on my 2013 Mercedes Benz c300 was rotted, the control arm bracket completely broke off on the left side and the right side is also cracked. it appears that this is a common issue in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months, the dealer told me that the car has a rotted rear subframe problem and the subframe could break out in months.

Sudden steering pull when braking . Mechanic found rotten left rear suspension cross member .part number 2043500141 Mechanic reports very Common issue with this model . Mercedes Benz is aware but will not repair or supply replacement parts . Note the replacement part is not available in US currently . Stuck with unsafe auto lacking support from Mercedes Benz . Some one is going to be injured / killed as the manufacturing defect shows rust failure from inside out and not detectable during routine maintenance . Hard braking pull is first indication that the defective part failed . Should this occur at highway speed the auto can flip resulting in major injury or death .

While driving at low speed, there was a sudden imbalance in the steering wheel and the car started to pull to the right. The problem was more exaggerated while breaking with significant fishtailing. I immediately took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz dealership who diagnosed the problem as severely rusted subframe with corrosion and structural instability especially near the rear passenger side wheel. The car is Mercedes C300 4Matic 2013. The incident happened on November 24, 2021. Mileage is 77,000 miles. Should I have waited longer, there was a very high probability of complete breakdown of the subframe which would result in rollover posing high risk of injury and death to the driver and other people on the road.

The subframe rotted out causing the lower control arm bracket to detach from the frame. This has caused loss of control of the back left wheel and causes the car to shake and swerve when braking. This exact issue has led to recall in Canada. First noticed due to a squeaking and clunking sound. Later on the same day, I pressed the brakes on the highway and felt the described shaking/swerving. My mechanic has let me know that the car is now un-drivable due to the safety issue this causes. One of the rear subframe’s main purposes is to absorb and disperse impact. Not only have I entirely lost control of the rear left, but any crash that this could have led to could have been significantly more dangerous due to the failed subframe. As stated prior, this exact issue has led to recall in Canada and I believe that it should lead to recall in the USA as well.

Vehicle subframe has rusted through and parts of left rear suspension components are free, and one is about to poke a hole in the fuel tank. The right side is about to do the same. Everyone’s safety is at high risk with this problem. The car abruptly pulls to the left when applying the brakes as well as causing the car to shimmy on the interstate. I took it to my mechanic who to.d me what has happened, and I had it towed to the Mercedes dealership who confirmed the problem. When you search the internet you find a highly alarming number of people who have this same problem on 2009-2014 C300 models please do something before someone gets killed.

I WAS EXPERIENCING AN ENGINE STALL WHEN STARTING MY VEHICLE AND A RATTLING LIKE NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AS WELL IN EARLY JANUARY 2018. MY ENGINE LIGHT SENSOR CAME ON ABOUT 2 DAYS LATER. I TOOK MY CAR TO MB LONG BEACH AND WAS ADVISED THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE THE CAMSHAFT ADJUSTED WHICH WOULD COST ME APPROXIMATELY $4K+. IT WAS FURTHER EXPLAINED THAT THIS ISSUE WAS DUE TO A CRACK IN THE SHAFT AND THE OIL IS NOT BEING PROPERLY DISPERSED. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION ON MY OWN BEHALF, THIS IS AN ENGINE MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THERE ARE SEVERAL CONSUMER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. AFTER CALLING MB USA SEVERAL TIMES, I FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL BACK STATING, I COULD RECEIVE A "1-TIME, 10% OFF THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR. IF THIS WAS A CONSUMER RELATED VEHICLE REPAIR NEGLIGENCE THEN THE CONSUMER COVERING THE EXPENSE WOULD BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO, BUT WHEN THIS IS A DEFECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND MB IS AWARE OF IT THEN THIS EXPENSE SHOULD BE ONE THAT SHOULD COVER.

I RECEIVED A RECALL INOVEMBER 2017 AND AM UNABLE TO GET MB TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO FIX AN INSUFFICIENT GROUNDING COMPONENT IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH MAY CAUSES AN ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE WHICH DEPLOYS THE TAKATA AIRBAG WITH RESULTANT ACCIDENT OCCURRENCE. I AM IN FEAR WHEN DRIVING. MB HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY REQUEST. INTERMITTENT "INOPERABLE MODE" ILLUMINATED SINCE MILEAGE 41974. CAR DECELERATED ON THE HIGHWAY FROM 75MPH TO 10MPL NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF VEHICLE, WAS COMPLETELY SHAKEN UP. WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES, RESTARTED AND IT WAS NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED 13 TIMES IN THE 6 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ISSUE. VEHICLE AGAIN DUPLICATED THE SAME PROBLEM, I MADE A LEFT TURN, ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE ON A CITY STREET AND IT BEGAN SHOWING THE "INOPERABLE MODE" AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AGAIN. A MONTH LATER, THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE LIKE ROCKS IN A DRYER. PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. I CONTACTED THE DEALER, THEY SAID TO "DRIVE IT IN". ON THE WAY, THE CAR BROKE DOWN. CALLED MERCEDES CUSTOMER CARE, THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK. CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 50K, AND IS AT 49404. WHILE MY 2013 C250 IS IN THE SHOP, THEY ISSUED ME A 2016 C300 WITH LESS THAN 550 MILES ON IT. AFTER DRIVING FOR ONLY 5 DAYS, IT ALSO HAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SAYS "COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS INOPERATIVE". I NOTIFIED THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND HE WILL NOT RETURN MY MESSAGES TO HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE ISSUED. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT MERCEDES IS BLATANTLY IGNORING. THIS IS STRESSFUL AND HEARTBREAKING THAT I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE 6 MONTHS, WITH A MOUNTAIN OF "MANUFACTURER WARRANTY" ISSUES, THEY ARE ASKING ME TO PAY THE $2500 IF IT IS DEEMED "NOT WARRANTABLE". SO I AM SUPPOSED TO TRUST MERCEDES TO BE HONEST AT THIS POINT? THE ONLY CONTACT I HAVE RECEIVED SINCE IS THAT THEY WILL BE CHARGING ME $2595.00 IN LABOR TO DISASSEMBLE MY ENGINE SO THAT THEY HAVE A "CONCRETE ANSWER" AS TO IF MY VEHICLE WILL BE WARRANTIED. IT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND ALL SERVICES HAVE BEEN DONE AS MERCEDES ADVISES. FOR MERCEDES TO NOT WARRANTY IT WOULD BE A DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY AND FURTHER PROVE THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

ON 8/26/14 I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN I WENT TO TAKE-OFF, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. IT FINALLY DID BUT VERY SLOWLY. THIS OCCURRED TWO MORE TIME AT THE NEXT TWO STOP LIGHTS. I WAS THEN IN A CENTER TURN LANE TO TURN ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC & WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR DIED AND THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY GAVE A YELLOW ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE CAR WAS INOPERABLE DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED IT OFF & THEN STARTED IT BACK UP. FORTUNATELY IT RE-STARTED, THE ERROR MESSAGE WAS GONE & I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE INTO MY OFFICE PARKING LOT. SLUGGISH ACCELLARATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE LAST 2 MONTHS. IT HAS HAPPEN ON A TAKE OFF FROM A RED TO A GREEN LIGHT. WHERE I'M COMPLETELY STOPPED AND FROM 0 MPH SPEED I START TO ACCELLARATE & THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT STALLS, ALMOST AS IF IT'S GETTING NO FUEL. I CAN HAVE MY FOOT TOTALLY DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL & THE CAR HESITATES OR DOESN'T MOVE AT ALL. I HAD AN INCIDENT WHERE I WAS BEHIND A SEMI TRUCK, I ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES FAST BEFORE INCOMING TRAFFIC. WAS ACCELERATING UP HILL AFTER MAKING RIGHT TURN; CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, VEHICLE SEEMED TO STALL AND WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC SITUATION; MAXIMUM SPEED VEHICLE WOULD GET TO IS 17 MPH. IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO DEALER WHO RAN DIAGNOSTICS, BUT DID NOT IDENTIFY PROBLEM; PERFORMED COMPUTER "RESET" AND TOLD TO BRING BACK IF MORE PROBLEMS. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, SAME ISSUE RETURNED WITH MAXIMUM SPEED OF 7 MPH; CEL AND MULTIPLE DASH WARNING LIGHTS INCLUDING TRACTION CONTROL APPEARED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER AND DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF SAFETY ISSUE AND POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENT. AFTER FIVE DAYS, DEALER CALLED AND INDICATED HAD REPLACED THROTTLE MOTOR. DEALER REQUESTED TO KEEP OVERNIGHT AND NEXT MORNING ENGINE WOULD NOT START; FOUND PULL ON BATTERY. APPROXIMATELY 4.5 WEEKS LATER, ORIGINAL ACCELERATION ISSUE RECURRED - WHILE PASSING A TRACTOR TRAILER IN A PASSING ZONE ON TWO-LANE HIGHWAY; WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE PASSING MANEUVER AND HAD TO FALL BACK IN BEHIND TRACTOR TRAILER JUST IN TIME FOR AN ONCOMING VEHICLE TO PASS IN OTHER DIRECTION, AVOIDING COLLISION, BUT UNDERSCORING IMMINENT SAFETY THREAT OF THIS VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO DEALER YET AGAIN AND AFTER MORE THAN ONE WEEK, DEALER INDICATED THAT FUEL PUMP AND INJECTORS HAD BEEN REPLACED PER INSTRUCTION FROM MB USA.
