Check Engine light came on recently, fault code P052E is identified by scanner. Car has 60,000 miles on original it. MB dealer wants to charge $300 for diagnostics, repair job (parts and labor) may cost over $2,000. Since this is critical emission compliance part/system, why is it not recalling?

The engine lamp turned yellow. The car got inspected by a mechanic and showed code. P052E, which indicates the defect in the crankcase ventilation valve. I see that many cars of the same model in which were produced about the same year had the same defect. I called the manufacture customer service and they claim that my van was not included in the recall. My vehicle likely had the same problem as other people did in the past, but for some reason my vin was not included.

I took my car for service and they found a rusted rear subframe, with a small hole in it. I was informed that the car was not safe for my annual trip from NJ to FL (about 1000 miles). I was also told that this defect was a recall for cars through 2014. My car is a 2015 and I have the same defective part - which is supposed to be manufactured with rustproof material. I am requesting that this car be recalled and the part replaced by the manufacturer.

My car’s rear subframe was so badly disintegrated due to severe corrosion. It made the driving so dangerous when braking and nearly caused an head-on collision. I have reported this issue under tracking number 11701609 and would like to provide pictures on the corrosion issue.

My wife first noticed loud noise from the back of the car when braking. Subsequently, when I drove it one day after, the car lost balance and nearly went into the opposite direction of the road on a two-lane street. The MB dealership later confirmed the problem was a severely corroded rear subframe that needs to be repaired at very significant expense. This is a serious safety issue that could have caused a head-on collision for me and my wife as a passenger on that occasion. I believe this issue warrants a full investigation by the NHTSA. I understand other Mercedes models such as the 2008-2015 C300 (W204) had the same corrosion issue and was under a recall but my car model (W205) was not covered by this recall. I’m the owner of a Mercedes Benz C- Class Sedan 2015. My Rear Sub Frame Rusted Through at The right trailing arm - Fails state inspection. Mercedes Benz has issued a extended 20 year warranty on all vehicles from 2008 - 2015 C - Class Sedan for Rear Sub Frame that rusted out. Mercedes Benz service advisor stated that my vehicle was not under that extended warranty when he run my vehicle Vin number. My vehicle should be under that warranty, I have the same problem with the same vehicles on the list. Please help. Thank you

Fuel hose system leaking. Inhalation of gas fumes caused headaches and nausea. Risk of vehicle fire. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by a Mercedes dealer. This is a known issue with Mercedes C300 2015 models and other years. There have been other complaints/lawsuits against Mercedes not wanting to pay for the issue. No warnings just strong gas smell.

Due to the type of fuel line and clamps used to fasten them, cold weather has caused them to shrink such that gas leaks, which comes through the car vents into the car cab and now into my [XXX] and [XXX] kids's lungs. Mercedes has issued a 10 year warranty on this specific feature, but it should be a safety recall unless we agree that inhaling gas vapors is okay for your health. There seems to be a continuous gas smell in my car and I see some class action law suits for the same problem but dealership says there is no recall- synopsis of class action below February 26, 2021 — A Mercedes C300 fuel smell has led to a class action lawsuit that alleges 2015-2019 (W205) C-Class vehicles have defects that cause fuel leaks and odors. According to the Mercedes-Benz class action lawsuit, fuel can leak into the engine compartment from fuel line connections to the fuel pump at the rear of the engine compartment. Mercedes C300 and other C-Class vehicle occupants complain of strong fuel smells caused by the fuel leaks. Please assist

Very strong gas smell inside the car when started and heat or air is turned on. I have done research and it is a common issue with this car. This is a very serious issue that can cause an engine fire with the gas leaking in the engine compartment.

I got my oil changed last week and not my car has the check engine light on and is throwing the code p025e. From what I’ve read this is common problem in these cars. It’s an environmental hazard, because when this happens the car is not dispelling the fumes as it should and cannot be ventilated correctly.

I took my 2015 vehicle to the Mercedes dealership and learned the rear subframe is rusted and has holes on two sides. I was warned that it is a safety hazard and could lead to a lack of control and other dangerous situations. I also learned that other 2010 through 2014 Mercedes models in the same class have been recalled for this exact concern. I am disappointed and upset to learn that those concerns are known, but not addressed in this model and put customers at risk.

Sunshade on panoramic sunroof broke off and tore sunshade. Took it to MB service center and was told it is known issue for that model and many more with some part snapping off causing the damage and cost to repair is between 2500-3000. Have been reading online and lot of people seem to have same issue with the panoramic sunroof and shade not syncing together. Seems to be concern manufacturer should be looking at if there’s numerous vehicle with same issues. Part snapped off when trying to open up sunroof on hot summer day

Failed component: power steering. Mercedes Benz of Princeton did the replacement, but we're not sure if they kept the part. Safety issue: On June 14, 2022, the vehicle’s power steering failed in the middle of a drive (see attachment for the error message). This was a major risk since the car was stuck in the middle of the road, with the steering wheel requiring tremendous force to turn. Luckily, we were a few 100 feet away from home, so we just left it. Next morning the car turns on fine and there are no issues with the steering. One week later, on June 19, 2022, the issue resurfaced. This time we were driving 35mph in a public street with traffic behind us. We were barely able to pull the car over to the side of the road. We took the car to Mercedes Benz of Princeton where they diagnosed the issue and quoted $4551 to replace the entire steering rack. We also contacted MB USA to understand why our vehicle wasn't recalled as part of NHTSA Recall ID #15V-845. After dragging their feet for a full month (where no updates were provided), they denied the claim. On July 22, 2022, we ended up paying the full cost of repair and lost the use of the vehicle for a full month.

The dealership garage isla verde in carolina, refuse to service my car. They are the only Mercedes-Benz dealer in Puerto Rico and there is no other dealer that can service the recalls of my car. Currently they don’t want to fix the recall NTHSA# #21V197 Bonding of Panoramic Sunroof Panel - Wave 2 MY. Their service is poor and negligent. They make an appoinment to then cancel it and deny receiving me or my car on the only authorized dealer to fix the recall and denying any services to my car. They refuses my entrance.

I HAVE A 2015 MERCEDES BENZ C300. I HAVE NOT EVEN OWNED THE CAR FOR ONE YEAR AND I HAVE ALREADY HAD A WHOLE LIST OF PROBLEMS THAT ARE NOT BEING RESOLVED. THE STEREO QUIT WORKING, THE BACK UP CAMERA DOESN'T WORK, THE AC WORKS ON AND OFF, AND MY HANDS FREE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. THIS ALL HAPPENED ONE DAY WHEN I TURNED ON MY CAR TO LEAVE WORK. THE STEREO WAS FROZEN AND IT HAS STUCK LIKE THAT. MERCEDES HAS NOT SENT OUT A RECALL OR ANY NOTIFICATION AT ALL. My 2015 Mercedes Benz vehicle is rarely driven as I took public transportation to work and has ~55000 miles. However, the engine has started throwing error code P052E verified by an independent dealer - crankcase ventilation valve failure. It means the engine could shut off amid driving and I did research and it seems like a very common issue that Mercedes Benz car owner encounter and feels like a severe car defect.

P052E PCV value problem Google search results show this is a very common problem, and despite being a component of the vehicle emissions system, Mercedes is refusing to repair under the emissions warranty.

Purchased this car in September 2024 for our [XXX] son. Upon inspection at our local Mercedes Dealership on December 1, 2025, we were informed that the rear subframe should be immediately replaced as there is a rusted hole in the subframe, "compromising the structural integrity of the rear of the vehicle." We were informed that the prior bulletin issued for 2010-2014 C-Class models did not include our 2015 C-Class. We were quoted over $5200 to repair the subframe. The Rear Subframe on this vehicle is rusted and has hole in it. The sub frame requires replacement. The sub frame was inspected by the Mercedes-Benz Dealership, Euro Motorcars in Germantown, MD and they recommended that the sub frame should be replaced. There is an extended warranty that has been issued by Mercedes-Benz for the Model Year and Model (2008-2015 C-Class Sedan/Coupe). However, Mercedes-Benz decline to cover the cost of the repair stating that my VIN is not part of that Warranty. This is a well documented safety issue and I believe that Mercedes-Benz should include my VIN in that extended warranty and replaced the subframe on my car.

there is a recall for 2008-2015 Mercades Benz c-300 c/w204. this recall talks about the rear subframe rusting out early on this car. we have a 2015 c300 c/w205. this car is seeing the same early rust seen in the other c-300. the dealership is refusing to do right by the warranty because it is a c/w205 even thought this is a known problem for this year and type of car. I am making this because it should be extended to all c300 2008-2015 cause they all use the same subframe. they changed the subframes and the look of the c-300 starting in 2016. it also would appear that the rust is coming from the inside of the subframe making we wonder how bad it is on the inside if it is making its way to the outside of it. I believe water penetrates into the rear subframe has no drainage and begins to rust. also we take the car to the dealer every 5 Ish months and this last service is the first we have seen of this.

On January 21,2025, I had an appointment for an inspection at Mercedes Benz of Smithtown, the dealership I use. I was informed that my car required replacement of a rotted rear subframe. A hole had rotted through, causing the car to "Fail inspection and was NOT SAFE" to drive. I was provided a video showing the damage. There was a recall in effect however, my Vin # was not included and it’s status has not changed. The 2015 C-Class Sedan/Coupe Vin # [XXX] , which was neglected to be included in the recall covers 2008-2015 C-Class Sedan/Coupes, regarding rotted rear subframe. MBUSA extended the vehicle Warranty 4 yrs/ 50,000 miles to 20 yrs/unlimited miles. However, I do not qualify for reimbursement of $4,014.92, because my Vin # was left off the list. Mercedes customer assistant center states they can't help, has to be included by NHTSA, when I said they cannot add a Vin #. I was then told, it has to come from the head office in Germany. I took the car for annual maintenance to Mercedes-Benz dealership. After routine check up they came back to report rusty rear subframe and told me that needs to be replaced. However this part is really expensive and models from 2008 to 2015 C300 had the same issue(premature rust) and they all received extended warranty from Mercedes-Benz for free replacement. I wanted to report this safety issue for C300 model including mine that is not covered under extended warranty.

Failed component: Front Sunroof Clip What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Sunroof clip, yes. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The glass pane lifted while the car was in motion and had to be held down to secure it until the car stopped. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No While merging to enter the freeway at approx 45-50 mph I opened my sunroof. At about halfway back the glass began to lift up off the track/railing as if it was going to fly off the track. Had I not been holding the button to open the sunroof I would not have noticed and the entire glass pane would have blown off, possibly damaging the car or worse flying off and hit another car. I had to hold the glass in place to keep it from flying off until I was able to exit the freeway. Once I stopped the car to inspect the sun roof I noticed the clip that secures the glass to the track was broken (crumbled) in the sunroof track. I removed the pieces of broken plastic from the track and was then able to close the sunroof. I am now unable to safely open my sunroof while the vehicle is in motion.

The contact then heard a loud banging sound and saw the dethatched sunroof panel in the rear-view mirror. The contact pulled over to assess the damage and then drove the vehicle home. The contact initially called the dealer where he purchased the vehicle and was referred to the local dealer authorized dealer for assistance. The contact was initially given an appointment that exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V197000 (Structure) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified about recall and stated that they were unaware of that recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

Have noticed a lot of air noise coming from the panoramic sunroof of my vehicle when driving, and now have issues of it opening or closing properly. I researched and found a recall regarding the issues my vehicle is having, and brought it into a dealership for diagnosis. Was told my vehicle VIN was not included in the recall. This is a dangerous issue that needs to be remedied. If the sunroof malfunctions I’m afraid it will come loose from the vehicle as it is doing the same things that the recalled VIN vehicles had issue with. Mercedes needs to update and add additional VINs to this recall. I did not repair, as I was told the entire thing will need to be replaced.

ENTERTAINMENT UNIT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE ONE DAY TURNED ON THE CAR AND IT WAS FROZEN. BACK UP CAMERA 9/10 TIMES DOES NOT WORK AND WHEN IT DOES IT TURNS ON AFTER YOU HAVE BACKED UP AND ARE ALREADY GOING FORWARD. UNIT FREEZES UNABLE TO CHANGE OR DO ANYTHING TO THE UNIT ITSELF. OCCASIONALLY A BLUE SCREEN POPS UP FOR 1-2 SECONDS AND GOES TO THE INITIAL START UP SCREEN FOR A WHILE. My car is the 2015 Mercedes- benz (MB) c 300 4MATIC. The Check engine light is on and off for some months as initially MB dealer said that it's likely due to gas cap defects so we replaced the gas cap. After that, the engine light is still on and off. MB dealer now said $1,760 to replace crankcase vent value and $2870.55 to repair the front differential leaking/reseal. It will cost me a total of $ 4630.55 +tax to repair. The car has only 70,000 miles and kept good maintenance frequently. Right now my car is not safe to drive it so why this car is broke down so quickly. That is not acceptable to us.

PVC Pipe to turbo. I am very concerned because this is a reoccurring issue with many owners of C300s. Also, I think it is related to recall number 20V364000 Engine and engine cooling: Engine: Gasoline: Turbo/supercharger. The issue was confirmed by a dealer Check engine light illuminated.

THE 7 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD FROM 1 GEAR TO 2 GEAR TO 3 GEAR. FROM 3 GEAR ALL THE WAY TO 7 GEAR IS VERY SMOOTH. ALSO THE SAME WAY AROUND WHEN YOU DOWNSHIFT FROM 3 GEAR TO 2 GEAR TO 1 GEAR. THE SLOWING DOWN IS VERY HARSH AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THAT THE CAR IS GOING TO A FULL STOP. ALL THE POWER AND SPEED CUT DOWN A FEW SECONDS BEFORE FULL STOP. I HAVE PERSONALLY TRIED TO DO THE RESET WITH KEY AND PEDAL TRICK BUT IT ONLY WORKS FOR A DAY OR TWO AND GOES RIGHT BACK TO THE ROUGH SHIFTING.

After getting gas my check engine came on steady. Stayed on until cleared. After getting gas a 2nd time check engine light came on again, stayed on, but went out. Then after getting gas a 3rd time, check engine light came on again. Checked by a local Mercedes shop, code showed intake line oil separator bad. Owned this car for 7 years, never had an issue like this. 50,516 miles currently. Quote for repair is high, over $1000 dollars. All episodes of check engine light have occurred in a 4 week time frame.

My 2015 Mercedes c300 only has 39k miles and suddenly the engine light on, when I check, the dealer it shows that I need Positive Crankcase ventilation valve replace. it cost $2300. This is basically a brand new car and needing this repair every 30k is a joke please issue a recall and have Mercedes held responsible

The crankcase ventilation valve has gone out on my car. This is a continual problem with these vehicles at low mileage. Mercedes Benz should recall the part for repair as they stated it could damage the engine.

Quick reaction saved the large detached glass from flying off into the roadway injuring or killing someone. Vehicle was 5 years old and out of warranty. Dealer estimated repair cost at $2500

On May 27th, 2025, during highway driving suddenly the sunroof got open by itself for like 3 inches upwards from the front and after exiting the highway i stopped and push the sunroof downwards by applying the force and apply duct tape all around the sunroof to keep it protect from sun and rain so i am not driving anymore before getting it resolved.

During a drive, I had the sunroof opened and then it suddenly started raining. When I tried to close the sunroof using the button, it wouldn't budge. I had to continue driving on the highway with rain pouring inside the vehicle. When I finally found a place to stop and check the sunroof, I saw that the roof on one side was popped off. After a few minutes of trying to close it, it finally popped back into place on its own. However, now there is a rattling sound coming from the sunroof when driving, and the car is no longer quiet. I can hear outside noise as if a window is cracked opened. Every time the sunroof opens and close there’s a slight popping sound on that side and looks like it is still out of place.

THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF IN MY CAR EXPLODED AT APPROXIMATELY 6.45AM ON MONDAY, JUNE 29TH 2015. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM MERCEDES BENZ IN PARAMUS ON SATURDAY, JUNE 27TH, 2015. THE CAR HAD 146 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I WAS IN NJ AND I WAS TRAVELING WEST ON I-78 (EXPRESS LANES) AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY, THERE WAS A VEHICLE TRAILING A FEW CAR LENGTHS BEHIND ME. THE ROAD WAS RELATIVELY SMOOTH AND THE WEATHER WAS DRY. NO PROJECTILE HIT THE GLASS PRIOR TO IT EXPLODING. WHEN THE SUNROOF EXPLODED, ALL I HEARD WAS A LARGE BANG AND THEN GLASS FALLING INTO THE CAR AND ALSO 'EXITING' THE CAR. THE GLASS DEBRIS LEFT SIGNIFICANT PITTING ON THE TRUNK OF THE CAR. I ESTIMATE 25% OF THE GLASS CAME INTO THE CAR. I SWERVED INTO TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND STOPPED IN THE EMERGENCY LANE.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that after refueling, the contact smelled a gasoline odor throughout the interior of the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the canister purge valve. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V138000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

The vehicle had to be serviced for the failure; however, upon inspection, the contact believed that the source of the odor was from the engine fuel lines. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. THERE IS A FUEL HOSE (PARTS NUMBER: 274 070 3500) CONNECT TO THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP IN FRONT ENGINE AREA. THE FUEL HOSE WAS FASTENED BY A CLAMP (NOT SURE THE PARTS NUMBER) . BECAUSE OF THE DESIGN FLAW, THIS CLAMP WILL LOOSE SINCE IT'S A SNAP JOINT ASSEMBLIES NOT TIGHTEN BY SCREWS. UNDER THIS SITUATION, THE FUEL HOSE WILL LOOSE AND AFFECTED BY THERMAL EXPANSION, THIS PROBLEM WILL CAUSE FUEL LEAK/SEEPING. WE CAN SMELL FUEL NEAR THE PUMP BEFORE WE START CAR IN COLD IN THE MORNING AND THIS SMELL CAN BE SMELLED UNTIL THE ENGINE WORKING INTO THE NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. The car suddenly glitched and locked itself—with my dog, my purse, my phone, everything—inside on an extremely hot day. There was no one around, and it was terrifying. I had opened the passenger door for my dog to climb in, and as I walked around to the driver’s side, the doors somehow locked on their own. Panic set in immediately. My dog, my phone, and my purse were all inside, and I had no way to call for help. We had just finished a walk, and then this happened out of nowhere. I had to run around searching for someone who could help. Eventually, I found a stranger who called the police, and they had to break the door open because it was over 100 degrees outside. I was terrified my dog would pass out from the heat. There were no warnings, no alerts, no messages. If it weren’t for that random stranger who happened to be there and willing to help, I don’t know how I would have gotten my dog out. It’s a reminder of the kindness of strangers, but the glitching car was truly terrifying and not ok.

Power steering malfunction Car unable to drive I believe there is supposed to be a recall for this issue but not popping up when I put in VIN number Warning lamps come up. Sometimes every light on dashboard. Took it to Mercedes but it was when code was not popping up and they said I needed a new battery. Did that but still an issue. Has also happened when driving. Sometimes collision assist plus light comes on and power steering acts up. Light I am pointing at in picture is another light that consistently pops up I have been able to intermittently fix problem by resetting computer by unplugging battery for 15min or longer. As well as confirming full service on vehicle. Now it isn’t working though.

Mercedes Benz via American Service Center in Arlington, VA regarding the service they performed on my 2015 C300 W4 4Door Sedan AWD the following issues have presented: ISSUE: 03MBZZWARN1 ENGINE LIGHT TECH: 901844 PROBLEM: ENGINE HARNESS, ENGINE CONTROL MODULE, CRANKCASE VENT VALVE, AND O2 SENSOR BANK 1 CAUSE: FOUND OIL IN THE ENGINE HARNESS AND ENGINE HARNESS. OIL IS ENTERING THREW [SIC] THE CRANK CASE VENT VALVE. RECOMMEND REPLACING. Approximate miles at the time of this issue: 63,141. Cost of Repair: $8309.58 Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection. Safety concerns: The vehicle is not able to pass an emissions test with the engine light engaged. Per America Service Center in Arlington, VA, which is the only service center that has serviced the vehicle during my ownership, they commented and documented that oil is entering through a vent valve. My additional concerns are: If an odorless fume is passing into the passenger cabin and the vehicle can not pass state emissions these are immediate concerns. The service center advices that I may continue to drive the vehicle. However, I am concerned should the oil fully empty without warning the vehicle may fail while in use on a dangerous roadway due to cause and effect of additional unknown maintenance related operational co-dependent mechanical components.

My boyfriend and I were driving my 2015 MB C400 down the road in November 2020 and it was a beautiful day out so we decided we would open the sunroof to get some fresh air. I was driving so my boyfriend pressed the button for the sunroof to open. As the sunroof was opening, there was a cracking and popping sound coming from above us. We immediately pulled over at a gas station to see what was happening. Upon getting out of the car and looking closer at the sunroof, we noticed many cheap plastic components that were just broken and crumbled laying inside the sunroof tract. We removed the broken pieces and then tried to close the sunroof several times. T Each time, the sunroof went into the closed position BUT immediately went straight back to the popped up position and would not completely close again. I took my car to the MB dealership in Athens, Ga where they told me it would be almost $2500 to repair which I did not feel as if I should be held responsible for as I had just purchased the car in January 2020 only 11 months earlier. I was in fear that the sunroof would detach from the car and cause serious injury to any motorist behind me. I also have a [XXX] son who is now scared to ride in my car!! After doing much research on this issue, I have found that this is truly a common problem with this MB model. I have reached out to the corporate office a few times and they only tell me that there is no active recalls with my cars VIN. It is completely unacceptable that MB is fully aware of this issue yet they continue to disregard the potential harm to other motorists. Please help!!! I WAS DRIVING ON 02/13/2020, ABOUT TO CROSS THE ARKANSAS/TENNESSEE BRIDGE WHEN MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION. THE ENTIRE PANORAMIC SUNROOF SHATTERED. IT WAS THE MOST FRIGHTENING THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCE. IF MY SUNROOF SCREEN HAD BEEN OPEN, ALL OF THE GLASS WOULD HAVE FALLEN ON MY HEAD AND IN MY EYES. CALLED THE MB DEALER FOR HELP, THEY WEREN'T WILLING TO HELP AND SUGGESTED THAT I FILE IT WITH MY OWN INSURANCE COMPANY. THIS IS A DEFECT OF MB!!

The tire exploded on highway,left sever damage on my car. The dealership ruined even more by trying to fix it. I think this tires are not safe to drive on the road. since I didn’t use the car less then 4000 miles a year.

While driving, heard loud flapping noise and when stopped discovered the tread on driver side rear tire had separated from the tire and was hitting wheel well, and passenger door. Road was clear and smooth prior to the incident Happened Saturday, March 5, 2022 at about 1:30 pm. Consumer stated Pirelli Risk Management wanted to make arrangements to have the tire shipped to them for inspection.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE BEGAN TO FLATTEN AFTER DRIVING LONG LENGTHS OF TIME AND REDUCED IN SIZE APPROXIMATELY THREE TO FIVE POUNDS PER DAY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE TIRE TO THE WARRANTY CENTER, THE DEALER, AND THE TIRE MANUFACTURER, BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND WITH THE TIRE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,015.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a routine maintenance check, the contact was informed that there was severe corrosion on the subframe of the vehicle. The contact was informed that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and that several failures might occur due to the failure. The contact stated that recently, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle swerved, and the contact lost control of the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that there was a warranty on the vehicle related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer covered under the warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

I have a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic got a letter from the company car had few recalls to address. Dropped the at Mercedes-Benz Hampton VA dealership on 12/06/2023 at 8:30 AM EST. After few hours got a call from the dealership that rear subframe of the has bad corrosion and because of the rust it got holes in it which is a bad safety risk. Risk is so great that it cant pass Virginia state inspection. I did a good online research and found it is a common issue in Mercedes-Benz vehicles and the company issued safety recall on some years and models but not on all the affected vehicles. Like my car has the exact same safety issue rear subframe got rust from inside so it was hard to notice till it became unsafe to drive the car. The dealer is asking almost $5000.00 to replace it. The Mercedes-Benz customer support center is unable to explain why some cars are covered with extended warranty offered by the factory and some doesn't for exact same issue. There are bunch of more people with same complaint but they don't know where to go.

The vehicle was driven to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the panoramic rails of the sunroof needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,500.

THE MANDATORY REQUIRED TIRE PRESSURE MOTORING SYSTEM (BECAUSE IT HAS RUN FLAT TIRES) ON ONE OF THE WHEELS FAILED AND THEY CLAIMED THIS IS NOT COVERED BY EITHER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY OR THE TIRE PROTECTION WARRANTEE. I WAS TOLD THIS ON 6/15 2015 BUT THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT I MADE ABOUT AIR PRESSURE INT HE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS WELL WITHIN THE WARRANTEE PERIOD.

IT HAPPENED TWO TIMES THE PAST 20 DAYS. CAR ENGINE STOPPED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. FIRST TIME AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 20 MPH, SECOND TIME ON HIGHT WAY ABOUT 70 MPH. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS THE SECOND TIME BECAUSE I WAS RIGHT AT THE PORT GETTING ONTO THE HIGH WAY AND I FOUND THE ENGINE WENT OFF. NO RESPONSE WHILE PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DOWN. I DID NOT HAVE TIME CHECK WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE TWO OTHER VEHICLES AT BACK ALMOST CRASH ON ME. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGH WAY ENTRANCE IMMEDIATELY AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE (I KNEW FROM LAST TIME IT WORKED BY DOING THIS) AND GOT BACK ON THE ROAD. WHEN ACCELERATING WITH MY MERCEDES C300, THE CAR IS ACTUALLY LOOSING POWER. THE EFFECT IS REINFORCED AS THE CONTROLLING SYSTEM IS BLOCKING THE ACCELERATION. RESULT IS THAT THE CAR IS BRAKING SUDDENLY INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING. IT IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO PASS ANOTHER CAR ON THE HIGH WAY AS THE CAR WILL BRAKE. I ALMOST EXPERIENCED TWICE AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THIS ACCELERATION/BAKE ISSUE. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MERCEDES REPAIR CENTER. THEY CONFIRMED TO ME THAT MERCEDES ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN FOR AN ELECTRICAL CABLE REPLACEMENT DUE TO THAT FAILURE. THE ISSUE DESCRIBED ON THE TB IS IDENTICAL TO THE EXPERIENCE ISSUE. I CONTACTED MY MERCEDES DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY INFORMED ME THERE IS NO RECALL AND DON'T CONSIDER THIS ISSUE A SAFETY ISSUE. Rear subframe completely rusted out. While driving on the hwy I heard a loud noise, a couple minutes later I hit the brakes to slow down to get off my exit and after pressing the brakes the car instantly fishtailed sending me sideways across 2 lanes of traffic. Luckily no one was injured or killed. I’ve seen that the car manufacturer was replacing this issue on models 2008-2015. My vehicle is a 2015 and they are telling me my vehicle is not covered for the issue. The car is not drivable and Mercedes needs to be held accountable. A critical component such as rear subframe completely rusting out in just under 10 years is unheard of and I can’t afford to pay 10k to fix it. Please help

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly veered to the left. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became inoperable, and the contact was unable to straighten the steering wheel. The brake pedal was also depressed. The contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle started to stall. The contact pulled over into a parking lot and was able to restart the vehicle. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

Rear-subframe corrosion at the lower-control-arm mounts has progressed to the point where both arms have play and produce loud metallic bangs while braking or turning at low speed. Two independent shops lifted the car, documented flaking rust around the bushing sleeves, and advised the subframe is structurally compromised and could let a control arm detach under load. The corroded subframe remains installed and can be inspected on request. Safety risk: a detached rear control arm would cause sudden, unpredictable steering and loss of control. The vehicle already pulls right under braking, and feels very unstable in curves Problem has been reproduced and photographed by two independent repair facilities. No manufacturer representative has inspected the vehicle so far. Additional component failures possibly linked to the same progressive chassis stress: premature wear of both front CV axles; timing-chain stretch with worn guides; slack oil-pump chain; upper & lower oil-pan gasket leaks; water-pump seepage; right engine-mount collapse; persistent misfire traced to a loose intake-hose clamp; transmission-cooler hose clip released under pressure, dumping all ATF and destroying the automatic transmission; excessive play in all four lower control-arm bushings. The transmission and the other components were replaced 1-2 months before the subframe bro History: A faint clank from the rear suspension first appeared roughly three years into ownership. Dealer service dismissed it as “normal noise,” and warranty would not cover “loud clanks,” so the issue went unaddressed. The noise has grown steadily into the current condition, suggesting long-term subframe corrosion that was never inspected or remediated. No collision, flood, or off-road use; the car has typical Northeast winter-salt exposure. The failure pattern matches subframe-corrosion cases already acknowledged by the manufacturer on this model, although this serial number is not yet included in the official campaign.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that approximately every 6-8 months, the vehicle sputtered while driving at various speeds or while idling. The contact stated that a month after the first failure had occurred, the front end of the vehicle lowered as if the shocks or hydraulic system had failed. The failure had occurred 3 times within a year and a half. The contact stated that after the second failure, the entire vehicle lowered several inches, and at the third failure, only the front end of the vehicle was lowered. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the hydraulic pump and the connections from the shocks to the hydraulic pump had failed. The failure reoccurred approximately 8 months later. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who diagnosed the same failure and completed the same repairs. The failure reoccurred approximately 8 months later, and the vehicle was returned to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer provided the contact with a loaner while attempting to have the contact trade the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. My car (vin [XXX] ) a 2015 Mercedes C300 is experiencing the same premature rusting on the subframe. I was told that while a lot of Mercedes are covered, mine is not for some reason but I'm at the same risk for the subframe getting holes in it and wheels breaking off. I only have 78,000 miles on my car, only have it serviced at the dealer and it has been garaged parked. This type of damage is not typical for a car that has been this well cared for and for the amount it has been driven. I called Mercedes to honor the $5600 or to extend the warranty should it have to be replaced and they said to file a claim here. My car is a 2015 Mercedes Benz, I bought it at the agency in 2022. When I tested the vehicle at the agency, I noticed the steering was a little hard. I asked the sales person and he told me it was normal. Then, after 1 year and 5 months, it was on its way. I went to work and the steering wheel jammed and it wouldn't cross and the car turned off then it didn't want to start and it said the following on the dashboard power stering see operator manual

I have a fuel smell in the cabin of my car which started about 3 weeks ago. I have drove the car a couple of times and it was pretty bad, also my sunroof almost blew off the car while driving to dry the car after removing the salt from the streets after the snow. I have since parked it in the garage to avoid any further damage. I will submit pictures so you can see the sunroof.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the diagnostic test retrieved code: P052E, and it was determined that the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

Blind Spot Assis Inoperative. This message appears on dashboard showing the malfunction of the blind spot sensors. This always happen when the weather temp is hot and also while driving during rain. This concern is putting me, my wife and kids in high risk and unsafe driving condition. I did some research and found out that the manufacture of this car put these electronic sensors inside the rear bumper behind both rear wheels and are exposed so whenever driving, rain, dirt, salt and all road debris splash all over these electronic sensor causing them to corrode and destroyed as a result of water and salt getting inside these fragile electronic sensors and then, the whole blind spot system inoperative and of course high risk to get involved into an accident.

When driving I accelerated and then the engine light turned on. after that the car was jolty and turned off completely when stopped. had to force a restart at the light. code that came back was p052E. This is a major and common issue with these cars. part is 400+ dollars. labor is much more since this is a 6 hour job. the work to replace this part is incredibly intensive that makes it impossible for regular car owners to change. Mercedes refuses to recognizes this as a common issue. but the truth is they designed a faulty system that they claim to have updated a handful of times now.

I took my vehicle to the dealership to have recall worked on (top sunroof panel) apparently they refused to work on it because my sunroof is not working. I received a letter after i financed the vehicle stating that there was a recall so to take it in to the dealership and if sunroof needed to be fixed it would. Long story short, back in July the panel detached from my vehicle while i was on the freeway. Thankfully I didn’t cause an accident but I would like some help so the dealership can fix the recall.

The contact would have to place the vehicle in park, turn the vehicle off then on again to regain proper function. The vehicle's collision prevention assist plus inoperative warning was illuminated. The contact stated that there were other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact called the dealer who confirmed the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

Reported to local dealer and corporate office about the issues with shift module not shifting at random, meaning that the vehicle won't shift from park to drive or reverse, and so forth. The local dealer tried to reprogram the software, but the problem still persists. When plugging in my OBD II & DTC readers, code U0103 appairs which translates to "Lost communication with gear shift control module". My concern with this is that I've had this issue while in traffic, which would make my vehicle a hazard. When it comes to the collision prevention system, the system randomly turns on and off, meaning that when it's needed it might turn on, but when it's not needed it randomly turns on. Once again, addressed this with a local dealer and Mercedes Benz corporate with no avail. My concerns here is that the vehicle could prematurely brake causing an accident or not brake at all causing an accident.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently fail to accelerate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where she was informed that the turbo booster was defective. The contact then took the vehicle to another independent mechanic where the oil circulation and turbo booster were replaced. After the repair, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective clockspring. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

Car was parked in Garage with garage door open. Wife and I wanted to go biking and the bikes needed air in the tires. Pre-positioned one bike directly behind parked car and one parallel with the pneumatic air pump prepositioned to inflate the tires. Went to driver's side door and started car with foot on the brake and pushed the button. I then plugged in the adapter for the air pump into the cigarette lighter. The whole time the driver's side door was open and the car was not moving. I exited the car and walked backwards and knelt down abeam the left rear automobile tire to inflate the bike tire. I started the pump at the unit and started to connect the hose to the bike tire, I was then hit from behind by the car door which bent backwards as it passed over me in reverse at low speed. The bike may have saved me by creating a wedge to bend the door back and away from me. The car started down my driveway and dragged the bike parked behind it underneath wedged and sparking across the ground. I got some scrapes but jumped after the car and tried to stop it by trying to slow it with my weight and strength and it was not stopping or slowing. I was worried I may get run over a second time and let it continue to roll at low idle speed across the street and into the neighbor's car that was parked. I am positive the car was not moving after I started it and I didn't have my foot on the brake to engage the reverse function one I exited the vehicle. I believe that the car engaged in reverse once I started the air pump. Maybe it was a voltage or electrical spike. I have used this pump setup many times before to inflate the car's tires and my bike tires but never saw it do this before.

I would like to bring to your attention a potentially dangerous design flaw in my 2015 Mercedes C300. That design flaw resulted in me having to cut the seat belt off a passenger, my wife, in order to free her from the car. I will also explain in detail the admittedly rare circumstances that led to this potentially dangerous incident. In May 2021, my wife underwent outpatient surgery of her left shoulder. After the surgery a nurse brought my wife to the curb in front of the hospital, where I had pulled up my car. The nurse and I assisted my wife with her transfer from the wheel chair into the passenger seat. My wife was wearing a sling supported by a spacing pillow on her left arm. The nurse then proceeded to fasten the seat belt around my wife. Since the nurse’s procedure is of importance to this incident, I will explain it in detail. After my wife was seated, the nurse unwound the passenger seat belt entirely and inserted the belt tongue into the buckle so that the lap part of the seat belt went properly around my wife’s lap. To protect the fresh surgical site from external forces, the nurse then placed the part of the seat belt that is normally worn across the chest BEHIND my wife’s back. Had the seat belt been placed properly across my wife’s chest, it would have been forced to pass over her left arm, which was tied to her body by the sling and bandages. It was thus not possible to wear the chest part of the seat belt properly over the chest but under the left arm. Lastly, the nurse allowed the fully extended seat belt to wind up onto the pretensioner. Upon arrival at home I wanted to take the seat belt off my wife. To this end I opened the passenger door, and gently pulled on the seat belt in order to slacken it enough to get the seat belt off her. However, I could not get any slack. Per instructions in the user manual, I opened the belt buckle but the belt was tightly wound around my wife's body. Ultimately, I had to cut the belt with scissors.

ON FEBRUARY 9TH, DURING MY MORNING COMMUTE ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR LOST POWER TO THE DRIVETRAIN. MESSAGE THAT DISPLAYS WAS "COLLISION ASSIST PLUS INOPERATIVE" ALONG WITH CRUISE CONTROL INOPERATIVE. WITH AN AMBER ESP LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THERE WAS NO ENGINE LIGHT ON. WHEN THIS MESSAGE APPEARED THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE (LIMP MODE). IN AVOIDANCE TO BEING IN A REAR END COLLISION I QUICKLY PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED BACK ON. INOPERATIVE MESSAGE, LIMP MODE AND ESP LIGHT WAS CLEARED. I CALLED DEALER TO NOTIFY. MY THOUGHT WAS THE BATTERY IS A DUD (WAS REPLACED THE DAY PRIOR), THE CAR NEEDS A SOFTWARE REBOOT DUE TO THE NEW BATTERY OR CAR WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE "MEMORY SAVER" CORRECTLY. OR THE SENSORS WERE DIRTY. SO I DID THE EASIEST. I WASHED THE CAR. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED TO HAPPEN 5-6 TIMES MORE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS STALLING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65-75 MPH. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS & LIFE THREATENING. NO ENGINE PROBLEMS APPARENT. SEEMS TO BE RADAR OR SOFTWARE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, I FOUND MANY OTHER WITH THIS SAME ISSUE ON NHTSA. WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 C250 COUPE, I HAD TO BRAKE HARD AS I WAS TRYING TO AVERT STOPPED HEAVY TRAFFIC. WHEN I SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS, THE STEERING WHEEL, COLUMN AND ENTIRE VEHICLE LOCKED UP. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL ENTIRELY. AS A RESULT, MY VEHICLE SLIDE INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. I AM SO SURPRISED THAT A CAR COMES OUT FROM FACTORY WITH A LOOSE GROUNDING ISSUE. IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, THE CAR JUST STALLED AT THE SIGNAL. ALL LIGHTS CAME UP. I HAD THE ECO START/STOP MODE ON. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AND FINALLY I SHUT THE ECO START/STOP MODE DOWN. IT IS SO DANGEROUS THAT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, WHEN PEOPLE ARE READY TO DRIVE ON CHANGE OF SIGNAL, THE CAR WONT MOVE, PEOPLE ARE HONKING AND FRUSTRATED AND I AM TOO. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED A YEAR LATER AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. I WAS DRIVING 580-E AND MERGING ONTO I-5 S WHEN I HIT A HUMONGOUS POT HOLE WITH MY LEFT FONT TIRE CAUSING IT TO IMMEDIATELY BLOW OUT. THAT IN-TURN CAUSED MY STABILITY TRACKING TO ENGAGE, WHICH CAUSED ME TO SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY. THAT CAUSED ANOTHER VEHICLE TO NEAR MISS RAMMING ME IN THE BACK AND ME SIDE SWIPING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER TO A VERY NARROW SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WITH MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS BLINKING. TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE, MY SELF AND OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE CAR, I HAD TO DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 0.5 MILES TO THE NEXT EXIT (67) TO SAFELY GET MY VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE LOCATION. I THEN CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TOW MY VEHICLE BACK TO SANTA ROSA WHERE I LIVE TO GET THE TIRE REPLACED AND FRONT BUMP REPAIRED. I AM UNSURE OF THE CAUSE OF THE UNSAFE CONDITION OF THE HIGHWAY OR WHAT CAUSED THE POT HOLE. THERE WERE SEVERAL CARS STRANDED WITH DAMAGES TO THEIR VEHICLES AS WELL. ONE PERSON CAME TO THE SAME EXIT (FOOD MART ON PATTERSON ROAD) WITH A BLOWN OUT TIRE AS WELL. I HAVE HER CONTACT INFORMATION IF YOU NEED TO CONTACT HER.

I HEARD A VERY BIG DEVASTATING NOISE WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 MERCEDES BENZ-C300 ON A LOCAL ROAD IN RALEIGH, NC AT ABOUT 40 MPH. SINCE I DID NOT SEE ANY TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) OR ANY OTHER KIND OF ALERT ON THE SCREEN, I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 2 MORE MILES, I HEARD ANOTHER BIG POP AND THE CAR BECAME NON-DRIVABLE BY THEN. I DID NOT FEEL HITTING ANY OBJECT OR GOING THRU A POT HOLE. THAT'S WHEN I GOT DOWN THE CAR AND NOTICED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE OUTER WALL GOT SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE AND THE THE TIRE WAS JUST FLAT TO THE GROUND. I COULD NOT, OF COURSE, DRIVE FURTHER. THIS HAPPENED ON SATURDAY (10/1/16) EVENING AND IT IS A RUN-FLAT TIRE, BUT COULD NOT DRIVE FURTHER AND THERE WAS NO SPARE IN THE CAR. SO, I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL TODAY (10/3/16) TO GET IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST BENZ DEALER IN RALEIGH TO GET THE TIRE REPLACED. IT WAS A VERY FRUSTRATING HALF A DAY ATTENDING TO THIS REPAIR. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF ISSUES HERE. (A) QUALITY ISSUE: WHY THE CONTINENTAL TIRE TIRE GAVE AWAY SO QUICKLY WITH ONLY ABOUT 23.5K MILES ON THE ODOMETER, WITHOUT HITTING ANY OBJECT? (B) SAFETY ISSUE: THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER IF I WERE ON A ROAD TRIP WITH FAMILY ON A NATIONAL HIGHWAY, ESPECIALLY, ON A SATURDAY EVENING WITHOUT A SPARE TIRE. (C). SYSTEM RESPONSE ISSUE: WHY MB SYSTEM DID NOT GIVE ANY KIND OF ALERT IN SPITE THIS MAJOR BLOW-OUT? I WOULD HESITATE TO BUY ANOTHER CAR WITHOUT A SPARE TIRE. I HOPE THE NHTSA WILL CONSIDER SERIOUSLY DISCOURAGING RUN-FLAT TIRES IN THE CARS UNLESS A SPARE TIRE IS PROVIDED, UNTIL SUCH TIME THE RUN-FLATS ARE EXTREMELY SAFE AND STURDY. THANKS.

COLLUSION PREVENTION SYSTEM INOPERATIVE. CAUSES CAR TO SLOW SLOW DOWN AND OR STOP WHILE ON THE ROAD. POSES A SEVERE LIFE THREATENING DRIVING CONDITION FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS. MANY OTHER MERCEDES BENZ OWNERS ACROSS THE USA, CANADA, AND JAPAN ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE AND ISSUES. MY MBUSA ADVISOR STATED HER VEHICLE IS DOING THE SAME THING. MY SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED ITS MICE THAT ARE EATING THE WIRES. I AM TAKING MY VEHICLE TO TWO OTHER MECHANICS FOR OPINIONS ON THE CAUSE OF THE ERROR MESSAGE. WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREET, AND THE COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST DISABLED WARNING SIGN CAME ON AND I LOST POWER TO THE CAR. I'M TOLD THIS IS CALLED "LIMP MODE." I TRIED TO PICK UP SPEED BY PRESSING THROTTLE TO THE FLOOR, BUT GOT NO REACTION AT ALL. THEN SOME POWER CAME BACK, BUT NOT MUCH. EACH TIME I BRAKED TO STOP FOR LIGHT OR TURN THIS WOULD HAPPEN. AFTER I GOT HOME I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND IT SEEMED NORMAL AGAIN. HOWEVER I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT, ESPECIALLY SINCE IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS MY POWER STEERING ALSO FAILED, AND HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER. THEY RAN TESTS AND NO CODE FOR FAILURE WAS FOUND. THEY SAID THEY FOUND SOME SOFTWARE UPDATES WHICH THEY DID. UNFORTUNATELY, AFTER I PICKED UP THE CAR FROM SERVICE I SAW THAT MY MAIN COMPLAINT WASN'T EVEN MENTIONED. ONLY THAT I SOMETIMES HAD PROBLEM WITH COLLISION CONTROL WARNING GOING OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT OFF AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL AND NOTICED 3 ERROR MESSAGES INCLUDING: ESC INOPERABLE, CRUISE CONTROL INOPERABLE, AND COLLISION PREVENTION PLUS INOPERABLE. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP LIGHT, THE ACCELERATOR WAS UNRESPONSIVE AND TOOK SEVERAL SECONDS FOR THE VEHICLE TO MOVE ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT FROM A CAR TRAVELING CLOSE BEHIND ME. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ITS FIRST SERVICE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND IS INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE.

I HAD TWO ISSUES WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF BUYING THE CAR EARLIER IN THIS. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN EARLY FEB 2015. I HEARD A LOUD SOUND IN THE HEATING UNIT, THEN A SMALL CLICKING SOUND ENSUED FOR OVER A WEEK. BROUGHT IT IN, THE MOTOR HAD BLOWN, SO THEY REPLACED IT WITHOUT A DIME OUT OF MY POCKET. THEN IN MARCH, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR WHEN A VERY LOUD NOISE LIKE BAD BREAKS STARTED AND WOULDN'T STOP NO MATTER WHAT I DID. WE TOWED IT USING MERCEDES, BUT HAD TO PAY FOR AN UBER TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS AGAIN ANOTHER MALFUNCTION WITH THE NEW MODEL, AND THEY FIXED THE BREAKS AND ROTORS THAT SAME DAY WITHOUT A DIME OUT OF MY POCKET. I NOW HAVE 6500 MILES ON IT SINCE I GOT IT IN FEB THIS YEAR, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TRIED TO REPLACE THE FUEL CAP BUT THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT GO AWAY AND THE CAR IS DRIVING FINE. IM BRINGING IT IN LATER THIS WEEK. I SAW REPORTS THAT THERE ARE SOME CARS WITH THIS FUEL ISSUE THATS CAUSING THIS INDICATOR. OVERALL THIS ONE PARTICULAR CAR I LEASED IS A TOTAL DUD, BUT I HOPE THESE REPORTS HELP OTHERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES.

BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR SERVICE AND SEAT OPERATION WAS RESTORED TO NORMAL AFTER A SOFTWARE RESTORE/RESET. SERVICE CONSULTANT COULD PROVIDE NO DEFINITE INFORMATION AS TO WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING, THE PROBLEM REOCCURED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM THAT CANNOT BE REPAIRED. IT IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT AFFECTS OTHER VEHICLES.

I STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE POWER STEERING FAILURE WARNING CAME ON. TRUE ENOUGH, IT WAS A STRUGGLE TO STEER MY CAR BACK HOME - I WAS JUST 3 MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME. THE CAR WAS TOWED THE NEXT MORNING TO AUTOHAUS ON EDENS IN NORTHBROOK, IL. I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN EUROPE SINCE DEC 2014. I WAS SHOCKED THAT OWNERS IN THE US WERE NOT WARNED OF THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM AND THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY, IT LIKELY WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND MY SAFETY COULD HAVE BEEN JEOPARDIZED. I WOULD LIKE OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2015 MERCEDES BENZ C CLASS TO BE ALERTED TO THIS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS MECHANICAL PROBLEM AND THE NHSTA TO INVESTIGATE WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED IN THE US......UPDATED 12/17/15 *BF BOTH AXLES FRONT AXLES HAD TO REPLACED.
