The car would not start, and displaying multiple rotating warnings. The car could not be shifted to neutral. The problem is going away after several hours by itself. Only check engine light remaining after car is able to start. The problem happened three times, most recent on October 20th. The last two problems were potentially addressed by updating software. Obviously the problem is still not fixed.

During normal driving, Pirelli tires have bubbles, resulting in air leakage. Tires will eventually run flat. Pirelli tires installed on new vehicle cannot support the weight of the vehicle.
Aug 09, 2024
The vehicle is equipped with Pirelli 21 inch tires. All four tires have lost air and had bubbles on the sidewall. The first tire went flat after hitting a 2 inch pothole. It was replaced. However, tires 2, 3 & 4 all had bubbles on the sidewalls. The tires placed on the vehicle are deficient. the vehicle weight exceeds the capacity of the Pirelli tires. In the second defect tire situation last week, it almost resulted in a collision due to sudden loss of tire pressure on [XXX] in Indianpolis, IN. I will attach a copy of the repair bills for all four tires. The vehicle must change the 21 inch rims. Also, our second Mercedes had a flat tire today. Five (5) flat tires in 40 days of ownership. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
1 complaint
At the time of the incident, I was pulling into a parking space in a parking lot near a park. I was traveling at approximately 3–5 miles per hour, consistent with idle or walking speed during a routine parking maneuver. I was nearly stopped and aligned with the parking space when the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated without driver input. This occurred from a near-idle speed in a parking lot, not during roadway driving. During the unintended acceleration, the vehicle traveled over multiple curbs on both sides. No audible warnings, no beeping, no proximity alerts, no forward-collision warnings, and no automatic emergency braking activated at any time, despite the vehicle crossing curbs and approaching fixed objects. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle continued accelerating without driver input and struck and knocked down a fixed light pole. After the impact, the vehicle continued moving forward until I immediately slammed on the brake and brought it to a stop in the middle of the adjacent roadway. No orange cones or warning devices were present prior to the incident. Any cones visible in photos were placed after the collision by responders for safety and traffic control. The sudden acceleration and complete lack of safety-system response occurred during a low-speed parking maneuver where the vehicle should not have accelerated beyond idle speed

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES

On [XXX] at [XXX], while I was slowly moving my car into a parking spot, the vehicle suddenly stopped for a brief moment and then, within a second, unexpectedly accelerated forward without any input from me. The car jumped onto the pathway and collided with the glass door of the property located at [XXX] ". I attempted to control the car using the brakes immediately, but the vehicle was not responding and remained out of control. There were no alert sounds or warnings before or during the incident. The vehicle finally stopped only after hitting the glass door. I strongly believe this was caused by a software or system bug, as the sudden acceleration occurred without my intervention. Please investigate this issue thoroughly, as it raises serious safety concerns. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

SEATS
1 complaint
On Thursday September 12, 2024, I took my vehicle into the Mercedes Benz of Novi dealership located at 39500 Grand River Avenue in Novi, Michigan to have them diagnose and repair the passenger seat due to the seat bouncing, vibrating and rattling while driving the vehicle. Technicians from dealership took the car out and they noted the passenger seat bounced and vibrated as they were driving the vehicle out for the test drive. Technicians from the dealer stated "there cannot be anything done for the vehicle and to call the manufacturer's Customer Care number." While standing in at the service desk at the dealership, I called the Customer Care number (1-800-367-6372) and documented this issue, and the dealer's response, under Case #[XXX]. The Customer Care representative heard the technicians response and included it in case number noted above (see attached) On Monday, September 16th, the dealership contacted me and advised me to bring the vehicle back in to diagnose the same issue. The vehicle was taken back in on Tuesday September 17th. Upon picking up the vehicle on Tuesday September 17th, I was told that all the vehicles of this particular year, make and model has the same problem and that there is nothing they can do about it. I believe this is an extreme occupant safety concern and should be addressed by the manufacturer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
1 complaint
Main instrument cluster and infotainment system locked up during driving after dark, the screens froze and then went black. All exterior lights went out during driving. No speedometer or other warning lights are working. It is a serious safety issue! Turning the car off, waiting 10 minutes, and starting it again did not fix the issue no matter what i did trying to recover the system. The screens either turn on and stay frozen or they stay dark. The engine starts but all instruments are not working, and all UI controls are unresponsive. It appears that very many other drivers reporting similar safety issues with 2024 Mercedes E350 on the [XXX] user forum and the manufacturer (Mercedes) is not recalling and/or fixing this serious and known issues but keeps selling defective and dangerous cars! I just got delivery of my brand-new car today and the major safety related systems failed in less than 10 miles of driving! In addition, something in the car consumes a lot of electrical power from the 12V battery while the car is parked and locked. I am receiving notifications from the car via Mercedes app that the battery is "very low" after about an hour after parking it. EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
The master central screen as well as the passenger screen that contains all features for radio, navigation, control of reading road signs, climate control and the like go BLACK randomly during the four weeks I have owned the 2024 E Class Mercedes. It will reboot after 2-5 minutes with no lost data. Dealer in Cherry Hill, NJ did major software update not completed at time of purchase. But incident happened after two weeks. Others with this make, year and model have same situations with dealerships not knowing anything. Supposedly, Mercedes knows but a solution may be three months or more. This is a safety issue as if happens at night, you lose all connections even to the cell phone and no speed sign indicator on. You cannot see anything but the driver screen with just the speed you are doing. Cruise control disengages which is using all security systems and navigation map.

SUSPENSION
1 complaint
I’ve been hearing a creaking noise in the rear when coming to a stop. Independent mechanic inspected it and said the subframe was severely rusted and that I probably should not drive long distances until it is fixed. They researched and said others have had similar issue. Mercedes apparently is aware and offers an “extended warranty.” I have an appointment in two weeks (!) to have it looked at by a Mercedes mechanic. They will pay for the repair/replacement IF warranted. Should be a recall, IMO. Can’t imagine that the part in question, which according to my mechanic, “essentially holds the back of the car together” wouldn’t be an immediate recall. Car has 120k miles on it.

The contact owns a 2024 Mercedes-Benz E450. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the "Active Emergency Assistance Imperative" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a software update was required. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the power steering control module (PSCM). The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer, who replaced the steering wheel. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 50.
