I want to add my report of oil loss in the hope a recall is made. I found out after purchase that 2012-2014 or 2015 has a known problem with piston rings. With normal local driving I need to top off the oil every couple of weeks. With longer trips, say a couple hours of driving one way, the oil gets a quarter to half way down on the dipstick. I carry oil for all roadtrips and can't forget to keep checking the level. My understanding from many sources online is that Subaru is aware they put in bad piston rings and just call it good enough or within spec, but dumping so much oil isn't right. This isn't a wear and tear problem, although it can get worse over time and lead to other problems. The problem goes away when the rings and the engine block is replaced. Scotty Kilmer on Youtube tells a story of a customer that complained enough and after being persistent had it fixed for free (piston rings and block), and still has no oil loss issues after 60k miles. He also recommended reporting it here. This engine is used in various Subaru's, not just the Legacy.

The contact's son owns a 2013 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed and approaching a traffic light, the vehicle stalled. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving. However, the failure reoccurred on two different occasions. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing excessive oil consumption. The contact stated that her son had added 10 quarts of oil in the vehicle within 2 weeks. The contact referenced Subaru Technical Service Bulletin Number: 02-157-14R. The contact also stated that the exhaust pipe was emitting black smoke. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the vehicle needed an engine compression test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 169,000. The consumer stated that they no longer have the vehicle.

Transmission failed. Began to make bad noises then failed to accelerate in an intersection. Was almost hit by another car. Dealer indicated that the Subaru transmissions were only lasting 90, 000 to 100,000 miles before requiring replacement. Contracted Subaru who said they had a voluntary fix, but we were not notified and were outside of the short time frame for the fix. We replaced transmission at cost of $10,000. Subaru offered 1000 off a new car but was not concerned about the safety issue and would not fix/replace the transmission for this known issue.

I received a recall letter about problem with the Engine, They did to Tess at 1200 miles each but the car runs out of oil between 25 and 3000 mile every time but they did nothing about it

Oil is consumed excessively. I had an oil change done at around 120K miles and my oil light is popping on to let me know that I need another oil change. I have only driven it 2,000 miles since my last oil change and my oil level is low. Looking back at the Carfax, the previous owner had oil changed every 2,000-3,000 miles, but the owner's manual states that oil should be changed every 5,000 miles. It seems this is a safety hazard and possible EPA violation.

HOWEVER, I REMEMBER RECEIVING A RECALL FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG A YEAR OR SO AGO, AND WHEN I CALLED THE COMPANY I PURCHASED IT FROM, THEY TOLD ME THE RECALL WAS NOT MEANT FOR MY LEGACY, SO I THREW AWAY THE LETTER. NOW I AM WONDERING - WAS THERE A RECALL FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AND CAN I STILL GET IT REPLACE BY THAT COMPANY?

TAKATA RECALL. WE GOT A RECALL NOTICE FROM SUBARU, RECALL TKB19, STATING THAT NO PASSENGERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE REPAIR IS PERFORMED. HOWEVER, THE ONLY SUBARU IN THE RALEIGH AREA SAID THE EARLIEST THE REPAIR COULD BE DONE WAS IN AUGUST; I CALLED LATE IN MARCH. MY WIFE RIDES IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, SO NOW WE CANNOT USE THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, WHAT CAN BE DONE TO GET SUBARU TO EITHER PERFORM THE REPAIR SOON OR PROVIDE A LOANER MEANWHILE ? THANKS

The contact owns a 2013 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal noise coming from the transmission. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician informed the contact that the failure was the transmission. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the CVT transmission needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.

When driving on interstate, all at once, dashboard lit up with lights, one of the lights being the check engine light. Towed car to dealership and found there was a problem in the CVT valve body which was replaced. I think this should be a recall because it's dangerous to be driving down an interstate with dashboard lit up. Have no idea what would have happened to engine or other parts of car if I wasn't able to get off highway in time.

THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY FAILED ON THIS SUBARU LEGACY AT 83874 MILES. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL AND THREE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE THREE COMPLAINTS / CONCERNS WHERE I BELIEVE THE CONSUMER IS NOW ON THE HOOK FOR THE MANUFACTURER'S PROBLEM. I AM TOLD THE NEW VALVE BODY IS IDENTICAL TO THE OLD AND WILL FAIL AGAIN. THE DEALER ALSO TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION FLUID MUST BE REPLACED EVERY 30000 MILES, NOT THE 100000 MILES IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. THIS IS AT A CURRENT COST OF $413.00; ALSO - I HAD TO PAY TODAY $413.00 TO REPLACE THE FLUID, WHICH IS NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH DIRTY FLUID IS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THIS ISSUE AFFECTS MANY SUBARUS AND SHOULD BE ON A PERMANENT RECALL REPAIR LIST AT SUBARU'S EXPENSE FOR THE SERVICABLE LIFE OF THE CAR, OR A RECALL WHERE THE VALVE BODY IS REPLACED BY ONE THAT WILL NOT FAIL AGAIN. NO ONE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM A $413.00 FLUID CHANGE EVERY 30000 MILES.

TORQUE CONVERTOR CLUTCH SOLENOID WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75MPH. ENDED UP HAVING IT REPLACED AT 138,000 MILES ON 2013 SUBARU LEGACY. COST $1,700 AT SUBARU DEALERSHIP.

STRUCTURE

The passenger side frame rusted through. The bolt holding the frame collapsed through the rusted frame while I was driving on the highway and I lost control of my car as I was entering an exit off the highway. My mechanic said the air conditioning system drips on this area of the frame causing the rust and failure of the frame to hold the bolt. There were no warnings prior to the incident except that I heard a popping sound when I took a right turn out of my driveway before heading onto the highway.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUBARU OF CHERRY HILL (1800 MARLTON PIKE W, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002, (856) 330-1500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOON-ROOF DRAIN NEEDED TO BE CLEANED OUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOON-ROOF DRAIN WAS CLEANED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL MORE TIMES OVER THE YEARS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER SUBARU DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.

While driving the vehicle, there was a loud "clunk" from the front-end. After that, during turns there is a lot of scraping, banging and popping noises. During braking, the car veers toward the right. The car is very unstable going around bends and on/off ramps. I took it to a mechanic and was told the front subframe on my vehicle has rusted out to the point he can put his fist through some of the holes. He contacted a dealer to get a price on a replacement and was told they have been waiting over 9 months for that particular part and there is currently no ETA for it. I contacted several other dealers and was told the part has been on backorder since January or February with no ETA. All the dealers I talked with said they are waiting on 10 or more. Based on that information, this seems to be a common problem with this model that may warrant some investigation and/or action to prompt Subaru to make the part available and possibly replace them via a recall. I really like this car and don't want to lose it over a $600 part not being available.

TAKATA RECALL : I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY JUST DOING ROUGHLY 55 TO 60 MPH AND THE CAR REVS UP AS IF I HAD PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T ENGAGE ANY GEAR. IT STARTED WHINING REALLY BAD TO WHERE PEOPLE ASKED CONCERNINGLY WHAT WAS MAKING IT SOUND THAT WAY TOWARDS THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AND JUST EXCEEDED UNTIL THIS INCIDENCE. 6 MONTHS AGO I HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSHED AND REPLACED FOR A HIGHLY FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS. THIS SHOULDN'T OF HAPPENED TRUTHFULLY AND OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS IT SEEMS ODDLY STRANGE. NOT TO MENTION I HAVE NEVER RELIEVED A LETTER ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OF THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. NOW THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED AS ITS ALL NEW NEWS TO ME. IF I'D KNOWN OF THE RECALL I WOULD'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT MAINTENANCED BECAUSE I DEFINITELY KNEW IT SEEMED TO BE MORE THAN NEEDING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED. I HAVE MY SERVICE REPORT PAPERS, A TSB REPORT (SURFACE TREATMENT CHANGE TO OIL CONTROL PISTON RINGS) AND MY CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED OUT BY WALNUT CREEK SUBARU DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY STATE THE PROBLEM IS NOT SEVERE ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING AT THIS TIME.

GETTING ON A HIGHWAY FROM ON RAMP. I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE. THE ACCELERATOR WENT TO THE FLOOR, THE CAR WAS GRUMBLING AND THE PICK UP OF SPEED WAS EXCEPTIONALLY SLOW. RPMS WENT TO APPROXIMATELY 4600. I EASED BACK ON THE ACCELERATOR AND TRIED AGAIN WITH SAME SLOW PICK UP, TO FLOOR ACCELERATOR AND ROOMS TO 4000S. I WAS NOT IN DANGER HOWEVER I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE (FILED A REPORT DECEMBER 2013) WHICH DID PUT ME IN DANGER. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER AND ONE OTHER SUBARU DEALERSHIP MULTIPLY WITH THE DEALER REPORTING OVERFILLED TRANSMISSION FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND COMPLETE REPAIR BY SIPHONING OFF THE EXTRA. MY VEHICLE SHOWED SIGNIFICANT LAG IN SPEEDING UP AFTER PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND REVVED VERY HIGH RPMS (34-4200). THIS ALSO OCCURRED WHEN I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR GOING DOWN A HILL...HIGH RPM (34-400) WITHOUT DECREASE IN SPEED. SUBARU OF MANCHESTER DETERMINED TRANSMISSION CAME FROM MANUFACTURER WITH OVERFILLED FLUID CAUSING HESITANCY AND LAG. REPAIRED AND RESET. ON 12/28/13, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHILE TRAVELLING AT 60MPH ON A HIGHWAY SO I COULD AVOID BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHO WAS DRIFTING TOWARDS MY RIGHT SIDE AS IT ATTEMPTED TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR CONTINUOUSLY AND THEN TO THE FLOOR; RPM'S REVVED TO 5400; LOUD AIRPLANE TYPE SOUND; WITH NO ACCELERATION. SUBARU OF MANCHESTER HAS SINCE DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED AN UPDATE AND RESET OF THE TRANSMISSION SETTINGS. THEY ALSO FOUND A LEAK BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE WHICH THEY STATE CAME FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THEY STATED THE POWER TRAIN IS FINE. I WILL PICK MY VEHICLE UP FROM THIS REPAIR WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND WILL SEE IF THAT WAS IN FACT THE ISSUE. *TR

DRIVER FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR GETS REALLY HOT. DOES NOT MOVE THE WINDOW UP OR DOWN. BEFORE THAT I HAD TO KEEP RE-SYNC THE WINDOW TO THE MASTER SWITCH FOR SOME REASON. IT WILL LOSE IT'S MEMORY RANDOMLY.

WE JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND 2 DAYS LATER THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND THE BRAKE ICON WAS BLINKING AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DIDNT WORK. A SUBARU DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT NEEDS THE PARKING BREAK ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL. I FIND THIS STRANGE AS THE CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD. PLEASE ADVISE ME WHAT YOU FIND OUT.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

I am the original owner since purchased new on the dealer lot in 2013. Within the first year, the drivers side headlight prematurely burned out (low beam). I have had to replace four bulbs (so far) since owning vehicle. The first two incidents I payed over $100 to have the bulb changed/replaced by a local mechanic. Since then, I have figured out how to replace the bulbs myself; but unfortunately the remedy is to remove the front driver's tire, remove inner plastic wheel well, and finagle and twist my arm to do this procedure (not easy!). Two main issues: Subaru needs to recall and fix the issue that is prematurely burning out this bulb, and 2; bring back the ability to (engineering design) that allows the owner of the vehicle to replace this bulb from the engine bay - NOT going through a procedure that involves a lengthy and expensive repair.

CAR HAS EXTENDED CRANKING ISSUE - IT ACTS LIKE THE STARTER IS BAD OR THE BATTERY IS DYING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THAT THE CAR HAS A HARD TIME STARTING. IT HAS DIED A COUPLE TIMES SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH AN INTERSTATE BATTERY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD. I HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED AND IT IS DEFINITELY NOT BAD. ASKED THE DEALER TO CHECK THE STARTER AND THEY SAID IT IS FINE. IT SEEMS THAT THE CAR HAS SOME OTHER ISSUE WITH POWER BEING DRAWN FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I BOUGHT THIS 2013 SUBARU LEGACY LIMITED ON JUNE 12,2019 AND A WEEK LATER THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT AND CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK AND THE LIGHTS WERE ON THE DASHBOARD. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A SUBARU DEALER IN WILMINGTON, NC AND WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED THE CONTROL PANEL FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHICH EFFECTS THE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS SAME PROBLEM IS A CURRENT RECALL IN SUBARU LEGACY MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND I FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AS WELL SINCE MY CAR IS AFFECTED BY THE SAME PROBLEM. EXTENDED CRANK ISSUE - I'VE HAD AN EXTENDED CRANK ISSUE WITH MY CAR FOR THE LAST 10 MONTHS. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED 3 TIME. THE CAR SPENT 30 DAYS IN THE SHOP DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. THE CAR IS HAVING A VERY HARD TIME STARTING AFTER IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW HOURS. AND SOMETIMES NOT STARTING AT ALL, WHEN IT DOES EVENTUALLY START IT'S CRANKING FOR AN ADDITIONAL 10-30 SECONDS. ONE IT DOES START THE ENGINE KNOCKS AND RUNS ROUGH UNTIL IT WARM, THEN GOES AWAY. WHEN THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE EXTENDED CRANK IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THE YEAR I HAVE. I WAS TOLD THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE CAR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I REPRESENTATIVE FROM SUBARU CAME OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT MY CAR AND 2 OTHERS SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL THAT WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE REPRESENTATIVE DEEMED IT "NORMAL" HE SAID " NOTHING I CAN DO UNTIL A RECALL GETS APPROVED" AND "SUBARU NEEDS TO FIX BUGS IN THE SYSTEM". HE ALSO SAID THAT WHILE THE CAR HAS THE EXTENDED CRANK ISSUE IT IS PUTTING MORE WEAR AND TEAR ON THE ENGINE AND IT WOULD SOON NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS THEN SENT ON MY WAY BECAUSE, THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE CAR IS STILL HAVING ISSUES BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED CRANK, NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED.

#1 SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED I HAD TO ADD AT LEAST ONE QUART OF OIL TO THE ENGINE BETWEEN EACH RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE. I INFORMED THE DEALER WHO HAD ME RETURN APPROX 1300 MILES AFTER MY LAST OIL CHANGE, WHICH I DID. THE DEALER INDICATED TO ME THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS FINE. BY 3,700 MILES THE OIL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO ADD A QUART OF OIL. #2 SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED I HAD TO TURN THE ROTORS OR PURCHASE NEW ROTORS EVERY 6 MONTH. WHEN YOU TRY TO STOP THE BRAKING SYSTEM HAS EXTENSIVE SHAKING WHEN BRAKING. IT MAKES THE CAR HARD TO STOP WHEN THE SHAKING OCCURS. WHEN YOU TURN THE ROTORS THE SHAKING GOES AWAY BUT WILL RETURN IN ABOUT 4 TO 6 MONTHS.

MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON OLDER LEGACY'S LIKE 2010-2012 ABOUT THE BRAKE LINES. HE WENT ON TO CHECK MY BRAKE LINES (WITH MY CAR ON A LIFT) AND SAW THEY WERE COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT AND SWOLLEN. ALSO, FOR SOME REASON WHEN I'M DRIVING, MY CAR PULLS TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER, SPECIFICALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. I CANNOT DRIVE STRAIGHT OR LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL OR ELSE IT'LL PULL ME OFF THE ROAD. MY MECHANIC HAS ALREADY LOOKED EVERYTHING OVER AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. SO I'M NOT SURE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS BUT IT'S WITH THE STEERING.

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
