My windshield cracked when I used the washer fluid. It cracked from the bottom where the VIN number is and continued across the windshield. I went to the Subaru dealer in Portage Indiana, to have it fixed under the extended warranty I received from Subaru for faulty windshields the dealer told me that it cracked in the wrong spot, and would not be covered. The dealer agreed that the windshield crack was not from any type of impact.

I used my windshield washer fluid to wash my windshield and a crack appeared from the bottom driver side of my windshield. I took the car to a Subaru dealership to have the windshield replaced under the Subaru extended windshield warranty program since there was no impact. My claim was denied because the crack was too far towards the driver side of the car.

My 2015 Legacy developed a 8 inch crack on the bottom right of the windshield at passenger side last 2 days. No sign of rock hitting, it just chip & crack without any sound. Never have any windshield cracking experienced in my 40 years of driving, with other brand car. It should be a product problem, manufacturer should be under investigate for affected brand/year car. A recall and replacement should be provided to car owner.

I HAVE A 2015 LEGACY WITH 2 WINDOW CRACKS. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL REGARDING EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM SUBARU THAT THEY WOULD COVER REPLACING THE WINDSHIELD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY SAID IT IS NOT COVERED THAT IT LOOKS LIKE IMPACT HAPPENED TO WINDSHIELD. WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE VEHICLE LAST NIGHT THERE WAS ONLY 1 CRACK AND TODAY THERE ARE 2. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE WINDSHIELD AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY DON'T DO IT THERE. I NEED YOUR HELP. THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE AND SUBARU ADMITTED IT BUT THE DEALERS DON'T WANT TO FIX. I WILL ALSO NEED THE ONE SITE RE CALIBRATED ONCE THE WINDOW IS REPLACED WHICH THEY SAY IS NOT COVERED. HOW COULD THAT BE? THEY SAID I SHOULD FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM WHICH SEEMS LIKE INSURANCE FRAUD.

THE WINDSHIELD IS DEFECTIVE. IT SEEMS TO CRACK AND CHIP WITH ANY IMPACT AT ALL. ROAD SALT AT CITY SPEEDS HAS CAUSED CHIPS. I HAVE HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED AND THE REPLACEMENT SUBARU GLASS IS ALSO DEFECTIVE.

We have owned two 2015 Subaru Legacy sedans. Both of them have had major battery problems. We've had to have battery tenders (trickle-chargers) installed on both cars, and we're still having battery problems. We've been stuck in various parking lots, unable to start the car, and had to get jumps from others. This is a royal pain, and a potential safety hazard if we are stuck in a remote location. We've been told by our mechanic that this vehicle does not really "turn off" when you shut it down. There are several devices in the car which continue to have a "parasitic draw" on the battery, which it is not capable of sustaining. We've had the battery and charging system checked out multiple times, and everything checks out fine. Replacing the battery will NOT solve the problem. Replacing the battery with a deep-cycle battery will NOT solve the problem. It is an inherent defect in the electrical system of the vehicle. Car battery is draining very frequently which is causing the battery to die. Even for short periods of not using the car, the will fail to start due to the drained battery.

Battery continually dies. Driven daily and even after driving same day battery will be dead. Issue occurs more frequently when headlights are set on auto. Seems battery drains when car is off but still pulling a charge. Have been stranded numerous times since purchasing the car 2 years ago. Have had battery checked and told it is fine.

The battery has a parasitic drain, and if left off for more than 8 hours, is completely dead on attempt at restart. This has also killed my passenger side forward window which can no longer go up or down.

Extremely high, abnormal parasitic draining of my battery, in my 2015 Legacy whenever vehicle is not running. This parasitic drain on battery will leave you stranded, if parked for a few days, causing a safety issue, as you can imagine. I always connect and use a battery tender/maintainer with hood up, after every time I use car, when I return car to garage. If I did not have a garage, I would have to connect to this battery charger/maintainer and close the hood to deter exposure to the elements, such as snow, ice, and rain. It is not actual fault of battery, as new perfect battery will drain within a few days with this extremely high parasitic drain. I thought possibly if I blocked the battery remotes from contacting the car, I could reduce this drain. I placed the two remotes into a metal container and then I placed this into a second metal container. This did not resolve the parasitic battery draining issue.

On 04 /17/ 2023 warning, accelerated and would not stop after leaving a car wash From Mister Car Wash on 4423 NE Central Ave I stepped on my 2015 Subaru Legacy brakes several times, trying to stop the car but it wouldn't so I thought about hiting a pole to made it stop I was screaming I thought I wasn't gone make it, so I finally made a turn right on 49th Ne Central Ave and hit a pole so the car stopped right away and I had to call tow truck to take it to Subaru dealership but they are telling me the car is in good condtion nothing wrong with it but I'm scare to take it back also I have reported this to q police the day it happened

Subaru installed battery installed by Subaru in September 2020 failed with out warning. There was no sign of battery weakness nor were there any warning lights or messages of any kind displayed.Car was driven, parked and when we came back car would not start. No lights were left or equipment left on. Car is at dealers now being checked. Diablo Subaru in Walnut Creek CA,. Fortunately since the incident occurred when the car was parked there was no danger to us or others.

IN FEBRUARY 2017 WE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ON 6 OCCASIONS. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY SAID THAT WE MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO CAUSE THE ACCELERATION. WE KNOW THAT WAS NOT THE CASE, BUT WE CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE CAR. IT HAPPENED ANOTHER TIME IN JULY. THE REALLY BAD INCIDENT OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2017 IN A PARKING GARAGE. AS WE WERE EXITING THE PARKING SPACE, THE CAR TOOK OFF ON ITS OWN. THIS TIME, WE HIT A CONCRETE PILLAR ALONG THE SIDE OF THE CAR AND GRAZED ONE PARKED VEHICLE BEFORE GETTING THE CAR TO STOP. ALSO, THIS TIME, AFTER WE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND IT SET FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES, WE TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO SEVERELY REV. EVERY TIME THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OCCURRED, WE WERE EITHER STOPPED AT A LIGHT, IN TRAFFIC, IN A PARKING LOT, OR AT A GAS PUMP OR MOVING VERY SLOWLY WITH OUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE AS ONE WOULD IN A PARKING LOT WHEN TURNING INTO OR OUT OF A SPACE. SUBARU AGAIN TOLD US THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND SUGGESTED THAT WE MUST BE TWO FOOTED DRIVERS, WHICH WE ARE NOT. WE HAVE REFUSED TO DRIVE THE CAR OR TAKE REPOSSESSION OF IT. SUBARU MADE US GET THE BODY OF THE CAR REPAIRED BEFORE THEIR ENGINEERS EVEN LOOKED AT IT. THIS WAS A LEASED CAR. SUBARU SAID WE HAD TO CONTINUE TO PAY OFF THE LEASE BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. WE KNOW THEY ARE WRONG.

Short Block needs to be replaced ($6,500) Yes, Scenic Subaru has the vehicle awaiting status of repairs (who is paying for service) Yes, my safety is at risk as the oil light has come on during the night when I'm alone on a deserted road. Service Department knows what the problem is - they are seeing alot fot this problem. Unknown on Inspections Yes, warning 'low oil' light came on. The oil light kept coming on. All service and maintenance done by Subaru. Now, Subaru Service Department informed that the Short Block needs to be replaced. From my research, it seems that this is a common problem with newer Subaru engines because they use a liquid engine sealant at the factory and when oil sits on the seals when the engine is not running, the sealant degrades and begins to leak. They also said there was nothing we could have done to prevent this and reiterated just how common with Subaru's. Replacing the Short Block on a car with low mileage (<75,000 miles) should be paid for by Subaru as this is a known manufacturing issue. I should not have to pay for this repair. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the oil was changed. The contact stated that the oil light illuminated whenever the oil level was extremely low. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.

10/4/21 engine suddenly surges while waiting in line at bank -- thunderous roar, heavy shaking. Assumed it was transmission problem. I put it in park and removed the key to stop it. I got out of car because I was scared. Got back in after a few minutes and started it up again. It shook and roared again. Turned it off and got back out. After about half an hour I tried again, and it seemed to run normally. Afraid to drive it home, I pulled into bank parking lot and called my husband for advice. It is a risk because car could accelerate unexpectedly and hit someone Not yet seen by dealer but I plan to take it in for repair No warning indicators noticed Prior to this for some weeks, car shuddered frequently when braking

2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5 engine. Fuel gauge is inaccurate. My daughter was on the highway when it ran out of fuel. Had car towed to a independent shop. They said that the fuel gauges is a problem for Subaru 's and that they had seen it before on other Subaru's.

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 70MPH & CAR ACTED AS IF IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL. RPM'S WERE MAINTAINED AT APX 4000. LOW FUEL LIGHT HAD JUST GONE MOMENTS BEFORE INDICATING 80 MILES LEFT IN TANK. CAR ACTED LIKE IT HAD NO GAS HOWEVER RPM WAS WORKING AS I PULLED ON TO SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY, LUCKILY.ONCE PULLED OVER & BRAKING ENGINE STOPPED. TRIED RESTARTING & ENGINE ACTED LIKE IT HAD NO GAS. WAS IN THE PROCESS OF WAITING FOR AAA WHEN I TRIED RESTARTING IT. IT STARTED AFTER ABOUT A HALF HOUR FROM INCIDENT, ALTHOUGH I DID NOT TRY TO START IT AFTER THE 1ST 5 MINUTES OR SO. WHEN IT RESTARTED LOW FUEL GAUGE WAS STILL ON 70 MILES TO EMPTY & I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO GAS STATION & REFUELED TO APPROXIMATELY 15 GALLONS, 3 LESS THAN 18 GALLON TANK SO THERE WAS APPROX 3 GALLONS IN TANK WHEN THIS OCCURRED. CAR IS WORKING FINE NOW BUT WILL BE TAKING TO NC SUBARU TO SEE IF ANY CODES WERE SET, NOTHING WAS ALERTED ON CAR WARNING LIGHTS OTHER THAN LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT. GAS CAP LID DOES NOT OPEN. WE TOOK THE AUTO INTO DEALERSHIP JUNE 30, 2015 AND GAVE THEM TSB-09-60-15. MILEAGE 5987. TEMPS IN THE 70'S. THEY GREASED THE GAS LID CONTACT. I INDICATED THE TSB INDICATED SOMETHING OTHER THAN THAT. THEY TOOK BACK INTO SHOP AND GROUND DOWN THE LID RELEASE CONTACT. DROVE HOME. TRIED TO OPEN GAS CAP LID AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING AUTO ANY DISTANCE BY ONESELF BECAUSE IT NOW TAKES TWO PEOPLE TO PUT GAS INTO AUTO. ONE TO PULL UP LEVER AND ONE TO PRY OPEN THE LID ON THE OUTSIDE. I AM SEEING NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH SEVERAL OTHER SUBARU MODELS BESIDES THE LEGACY. SUCH A SIMPLE MANUFACTURING FLAW SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE FIXED. LOVE THE AUTO BUT THIS IS REALLY REALLY AN ANNOYING SIMPLE FLAW. RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARING HAD TO BE REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 36,000 MILES. NOW THE LEFT REAR WHEEL BEARING HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 44,000 MILES. BOTH SITUATIONS OCCURRED WHEN UNUSUAL NOISES WERE HEARD FROM THE REAR END OF THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP MAKING THE REPAIRS AND SUBARU OF AMERICA HAVE NOT PROVIDED ANY REASONABLE EXPLANATION FOR WHY BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS WOULD HAVE PROBLEMS AT RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE.

JUST GOT A NOTICE THAT SUBARU IS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON THE CVT FOR THIS CAR AND MY SECOND SUBARU (2014 OUTBACK 4S4BRBLC0E3307363). CALLED THEM TO ASK WHAT PERCENTAGE OF CARS HAVE NEEDED THIS REPAIR SO I CAN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION ABOUT KEEP OR DISPOSING OF MY SUBARUS. THEY TOLD ME "WE DO NOT HAVE ANY DATA ON # OF REPAIRS" AND SAID THEY JUST DID IT AS A COURTESY TO CUSTOMERS. SOUNDS LIKE A LOAD OF BUNK TO ME. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The vehicle was scheduled to be towed to the local dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to have the vehicle towed to the local dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

I was in a wreck were my car slammed into the center barrier on the interstate twice and my air bags didn't deploy and I was slammed into my car door I know my friend's dad that owned the car said that the car was totaled and the mechanic that towed the car was wondering why the air bags didn't deploy because of where the car hit and where the damage was

Subaru sudden acceleration – Garage Accident [XXX] [XXX] – before noon, wet, rainy day: [XXX] returning from grocery shopping - car suddenly accelerated from near stop as she was about to enter garage, the car hit the garage brick wall. When she put her foot on the brake, the car suddenly accelerated. I have security video showing this sudden acceleration (.mp4, nhtsa doesn't accept). After accident, car drives well - all lights work - hood opens and locks. Substantial car damage to bumper and adjoining parts - wood trim damaged, garage bricks cracked and pushed in, garage door would not close. [XXX] Wed – took Subaru in for unexpected sudden acceleration on braking – [XXX] – test drive with Gary – Problem unexpected with Subarus – electronic control – no manual linkage (some transmission linkage with shift lever). The contact owns a 2015 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off on two occasions, the contact observed three cracks in the top-middle of the windshield that led to an 'S' shape crack in the middle of the windshield. The vehicle was taken to an auto body and glass shop where it was diagnosed that the lament had pulled away from the glass and the windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred three weeks later. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

Right front wheel started to wobble a bit when braking, as if a rotor started to warp. I purchased a new rotors and pads from Subaru to change the rotor when convenient. I had to stop driving the vehicle because the shaking got so violent when breaking that I thought it was going to damage the vehicle. The rotor had split into pieces along all of the fins. I ended up removing two rings of casting.

Driving 55 on a major highway, my car displayed a warning sign “electronic parking brake” and the “brake” light started to blink. It came out of nowhere so I pulled over and tried to figure out what the issue was. Nothing seemed wrong so I drove home. Later that night, the parking brake was fully engaged and did so by itself. I did not engage and it would not disengage. Apparently, this happens to many other Subaru drivers on the internet. This is a major issue

ON APRIL 11TH WE BOUGHT OUR BRAND NEW SUBARU LEGACY IT HAD MAYBE 34 MIILES ON IT (GIVE OR TAKE) MY HUSBAND DRIVES THE CAR AND A COUPLE OF DAYS HAVING THE CAR THE RADIO/BACKUP CAMERA/PHONE SYSTEM CRASHES- IT HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES. ON APRIL 14TH MY HUSBAND BROUGHT THE CAR INTO SERVICE. NOW I AM GOING TO JUST SPEED THINGS UP PUT ALL SERVICE VISITS IN ONE EXPLANATION AS I DO NOT HAVE MANY CHARACTERS LEFT. When the car sits unused for more than several days, it goes completely dead. I have had both my mechanic and the dealer check the entire charging system ( battery, alternator, engine drive belt etc ) to no avail. Everything tests as working within given parameters and my 2015 vehicle w/ 67,000 miles is currently on it's 4th battery ! The dealer has refused to perform the two Technical Service Bulletin(s) issued by Subaru corporate unless l pay for them, as they claim they can find no evidence to show they are needed. As a disabled retiree, I cannot depend on this, my only vehicle, to go to doctors appointments, food shopping and other normal necessary daily activities. CAN ( Controller Area Network) is causing a parasitic draining of my battery causing me to have to jump my car regularly and I changed the battery less than a year ago. I know that I'm not the only person that has had this issue, I'm aware of the current class action lawsuit out against Subaru for this current situation. This is a very costly a serious issue that demands attention now. It's very dishonest of Subaru to tell you that nothing's wrong or offer any fix, all while taking our hard earned money. I'm very frustrated because I can't afford to continue messing with this issue nor can I simply go out and buy another vehicle. I have been left stranded both at home and aboard leaving my wife and kids not too mention myself at risk. I have taken the vehicle in and haven't had any remedy. No other failures at the time of this reporting.

I have experienced two separate occasions where my vehicle accelerated even though my foot was on the brake pedal. Once, I was slowing down on a main street for a stop light behind several other cars. My vehicle began to accelerate and would have rammed the car in front of me if I had not been able to swerve into an empty turn lane. Due to the acceleration, I figured I must have accidentally hit the gas pedal, so I lifted my foot and hit the other pedal--which was the accelerator, and naturally just accelerated the vehicle more. I then put my foot back on the brake and the car came to a stop. The second time, my son was backing into our driveway. He had the brakes on. The car was slowing down. Then it suddenly accelerated backward. My son said his foot was still on the brake pedal when the car accelerated, and he did the same thing I did when I had the issue: he moved his foot to the other pedal, thinking he had made some kind of error, but found that the switch only made the car accelerate more, so he switched back to the brake pedal and the car stopped. In both of these instances, the car was initially braking when the brake pedal was applied, then began to accelerate without a change in foot positioning. The accelerator was not touched in either instances because the vehicle was going slow enough not to need much pressure, and the accelerator is positioned far enough away from the brake as it is impossible to touch both pedals at the same time. The floor mats were properly secured at both times (as they always are) and could not possibly have interfered in any way. Thankfully no one has been hurt or experienced any property damage during either of these episodes, but I am worried that one of these days, something horrible will happen if this problem is not corrected! I will give the date of the most recent occurrence in the information included with this report.

I PARKED MY CAR ON A ROAD (NEIGHBORHOOD) WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE. I WENT AROUND IN FRONT OF IT TO LOOK AT AN ITEM FOR SALE (SMALLL PINK PIANO) IN THE YARD. IT ENDED UP GOING TO THE RIGHT AND RUNNING INTO THE GARAGE OF THE HOUSE I WAS NEAR. The contact owned a 2015 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact opened and closed the trunk, triggering the alarm system. The alarm system failed to deactivate immediately. The vehicle then failed to restart as needed, and the "Shift to Park" message was displayed while the transmission was in park(P). The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the brake fuse was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact replaced the brake fuse for a second time, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed. The contact later sold the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.

I have had several battery issues that I just believed to be bad luck and would get a new battery under warranty but it has gotten worse lately. It led me to look online and I notice I am not nearly the only one as this complaint has been brought up my numerous people. It is in regards to my 2015 Subaru legacy and how I’m not certain if my car will start if I make a few short trips where I’m “in and out” of the car more than 3 times in a short period of time. There is definitely a parasitic draw issue from the vehicle and it is a safety concern in not knowing if your vehicle is going to start or if you’ll need a jump or worse be stranded. With the amount of complaints on this issue I would have thought there would be a recall. I know there are safety bulletins but nothing that the dealer or Subaru themselves will address. I have also signed up for the battery settlement case but have not heard back in regards to this. I am really wanting to know if there is a solution because I’ve read a lot of reviews where this is happening in newer models also. It needs to be addressed and a resolution should be offered because it is happening to A LOT of Subarus. My other concern was the seats and moonroof. The leather driver seat has torn up and I have put covers over it to look similar but I use a sun screen for the vehicle often and it still tore up the seat. Lastly the moonroof has a defect that the dealer wouldn’t address. There is something wrong with the seal and loud wind gets in somewhere and makes the vehicle shake as though you turned up a base speakers to the loudest setting. The battery issue has been going on for years as well as the moonroof that has a spot that is allowing in air and causes the vehicle to shake. Please help hold subaru accountable for these issues and get back to me with some sort of solution! Thank you for your time.

As I pulled up behind a car that was stopped at a stop sign, I took my foot off the gas pedal, and put it on the brake pedal. The moment i put my foot on the brake pedal, my car surged forward. I had a moment to think, and I confirmed that my foot was on the brake pedal, I had felt the brakes trying to resist the surge. I put the car into neutral, and it jerked to a stop. No one was hurt, I stopped the car in time, but I wondered if this had happened in other settings, what danger it would have posed. This has previously occurred rarely and intermittently when, starting out on some cold mornings, i shifted from reverse to neutral to drive, when backing out of my driveway in the morning.The car surged forward and I had to be quick on pressing the brake pedal hard to get it to stop before hitting a mailbox post. No warning lights went on, in any of these incidents. I called a Subaru dealer, who said there had been no recall history re this uninitiated surge behavior.

The dealer diagnosed that the front exhaust pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the front exhaust pipe was previously replaced under Subaru Campaign Number: WUJ-95 due to the failure; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

I am the original owner of the vehicle in question. I have been experiencing excessive electrical drain issues throughout the life of my vehicle. I have had to jump it at least 10 times and have replaced the battery 4 times throughout my 7 years of ownership. This is quite excessive and has caused safety issues in the past as you never know when the battery suddenly no longer has enough power to start the vehicle. My fiancé was recently on a ferry and upon landing the vehicle would not start and this caused quite an issue with the ferry operator and resulted in undue stress and anxiety on her. I have also always had an issue with the Adaptive Cruise Control system (EyeSight) in which under what I believe are specific circumstances, the system fails to detect the roadway and road markers in front of the vehicle and abruptly shuts off. This hasn't been a major issue as I am still actively driving the vehicle, but when you are driving 50mph on a highway and suddenly you are decelerating without brake lights indicating so to others around you can cause a sense of alarm. The somewhat specific situations this occurs in is when there is very little to no ambient light on the road. Although my headlights are on, they don't seem to provide enough light for the system to 'see' at all times.

I have a 2015 subaru legacy 2.5i engine. The problem i have is a blown fuse in the main compartment F26 (backup). I have read subaru forum(s) and in earlier years this is same issue that I current have in my car. In the older models this was recalled and the issue was reworked at subaru repair centers at their cost. This issue also said it could cause a over heating and possible cause a fire. WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF PURCHASE OF THE LEGACY BEGINNING IN APRIL OF 2015 THE RADIO/NAVIGATION/DRIVER ASSISTANCE DISPLAY CONSOLE BEGAN TO LOCK UP AND BECOME NON-OPERABLE AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF OPERATION. THE DEALER (MATT SLAPP SUBARU OF NEWARK, DELAWARE) HAD DIFFICULTY DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM AND CALLED IN THE SUBARU REGIONAL TECHNICIAN TO TRY TO RECOMMEND A FIX. HE RECOMMENDED A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE CENTER CONSOLE RADIO AND DISPLAY. THIS ALL TOOK SEVERAL MONTHS. WHEN THE REPLACEMENT UNIT CAME IN, WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THE REPAIRS SHORTLY AFTER THE NEW RADIO/DISPLAY CONSOLE HAD BEEN INSTALLED, THE SAME PROBLEM WE HAD BEFORE WAS EVIDENT. IN ADDITION, WE WERE UNABLE TO ACCESS THE MAP AND NAVIGATIONAL FUNCTION AT ALL WITH THE NEW UNIT. AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS WE WERE DISCOVERING THIS, THE DEALER CALLED TO TELL US THAT THE COMPUTERIZED INVENTORY ACCOUNTING SYSTEM HAD FLAGGED THE MISMATCH BETWEEN OUR MODEL AND THE RADIO/NAVIGATION CONSOLE THAT HAD BEEN INSTALLED IN MY SUBARU. WE RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND FOR THE SECOND TIME A NEW AND CORRECT MODEL RADIO/NAVIGATION CONSOLE WAS INSTALLED. WE NOW HAD ACCESS TO THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM SCREEN AND MAPS AGAIN GOING INTO THE FALL OF 2015 AND FOR THE REST OF THE WINTER EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE WORKING FINE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 SUBARU LEGACY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS DUE TO A FAILURE WITH THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE FEATURE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE FIRST DEALER AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT LATER TESTED THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES AND NOTICED THAT THE FAILURE WAS PROGRESSING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE FIRST DEALER A SECOND TIME UPON RECEIVING NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V366000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE) AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT NEED TO BE SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND DEALER TO RECEIVE THE RECALL REMEDY AND THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR LONGER THAN TWO MONTHS FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE MANUFACTURERS REMEDY PROVIDED A PERMANENT SOLUTION AND WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD REOCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MAY 8TH 2015 WE PURCHASED OUR 2015 SUBARU LEGACY 2.5I PREMIUM. #1. VERY PROMINENT COOLANT SMELL FROM PASSENGER SIDE ENGINE AREA. LOOSING COOLANT. #2. 600 MILES- TRANSMISSION/ ECU /THROTTLE DELAY , A 3-5 SEC DELAY IN THE RESPONSE WHEN GOING FROM (R) INTO (D) AND THE SAME 3-5 SEC DELAY IS DUPLICATED WHEN GOING FROM A STOP TO ACCELERATING THE CAR. CONCERNING. #3 3000 MILES, LOUD WIND NOISE IS HEARD FROM ALL WINDOWS. WINDOWS WERE REPLACED BY DEALER, BUT NOISE STILL EXISTS. #4 THE GAS DOOR WILL NOT RELEASE AND CONTINUES TO GET STUCK. #5 8,500 MILES- EXCESSIVE WATER ENTERING INTO ENGINE BAY. WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE BAY GETS COMPLETELY SOAKED WITH WATER. STANDING WATER IN THE BATTERY TRAY, A RIVER OF WATER RUNNING DOWN THE INNER FENDER WALLS INSIDE THE ENGINE BAY AND WATER IS ENTERING INTO THE FUSE BOX. WHEN ENGINE GETS WET IT HAS A BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. WATER HAS ALSO BEEN FOUND ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOORBOARD AN IN THE SPARE TIRE AREA OF TRUNK. #6 2,200 MILES STARTING/MOTOR CONCERNS. THE CAR WILL CRANK OVER, BUT DOESN'T START. THE SECOND ATTEMPT THE CAR STARTS UP AND DIES IMMEDIATELY. 3RD ATTEMPT CAR FIRES OFF AN ASSOCIATED WITH BAD GAS SMELL/ ROUGH RUNNING. THE MOST RECENT TIME THIS HAPPENED TO US (12/12/15), 1ST ATTEMPT THE CAR WOULDN'T START, 2ND TIME TRYING TO START THE CAR IS FIRED UP THEN DIED. 3RD ATTEMPT CAR STARTED UP RUNNING ROUGH W/ A BAD GAS ODOR. IT'S ASSOCIATED W/ BACKFIRING / POPPING SOUND THROUGH THE EXHAUST. RECENTLY HAS DEVELOPED A LOW END SOUND/KNOCK IN MOTOR BETWEEN 1800 AND 2200 RPMS. #7 11,500 MILES BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR. PEDAL ISN'T HOLDING PRESSURE. VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT AN ASSOCIATED WITH A CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 SUBARU LEGACY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT COOLANT WAS LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE AND A BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER ENTERED THROUGH THE WHEEL WELLS, ONTO THE FUSE BOX AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, AND INTO THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,200.

SLOWLY PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT, WHEN THE CAR ACCELERATED (UNINTENDED ACCELERATION) INTO A BRICK WALL. MY PASSENGER SUFFERED 3 BROKEN RIBS FROM THE SEAT BELT, AND I SUFFERED WHIPLASH, BRUISING FROM SEAT BELT, AND BRUISED KNEES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AT THE FIRST REFUELING OF THE CAR AFTER PURCHASE, THE FUEL DOOR DID NOT OPEN WHEN THE LEVER WAS PULLED. EVENTUALLY IT DID OPEN AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. AT THE SECOND REFUELING OF THE CAR, APPROXIMATELY 450 MILES AFTER THE FIRST TIME, ONCE AGAIN THE DOOR DID NOT OPEN. IT OPENED FINALLY AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES WITH ONE PERSON OPERATING THE LEVER AND ANOTHER FORCING THE DOOR. THE NEXT DAY, THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE FUEL DOOR PIN WAS ADJUSTED TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM.

OUR WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A CRACK THAT GREW OVER TWO DAYS AND NOW EXTENDS HALF THE WIDTH OF THE WINDSHIELD. WE DISCOVERED THIS CRACK WHEN GETTING INTO THE CAR AFTER IT WAS PARKED. THERE IS NO OBVIOUS REASON FOR THIS CRACK. WE HAVE NO MEMORY OF HITTING OR BEING HIT BY ANY OBJECT. I UNDERSTAND THAT SUCH SPONTANEOUS CRACKS HAVE APPEARED ON OTHER SUBARU OUTBACKS AND LEGACIES.

WITHIN A MONTH OF BUYING A BRAND NEW SUBARU LEGACY 2015, MY WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUS CRACKED WHILE DRIVING ON AN OPEN-AIR INTERSTATE AWAY FROM OTHER CARS. AT FIRST I THOUGHT MAYBE A PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD, BUT UPON LATER INSPECTION I COULD NOT FIND A DISTINCT STARTING POINT FOR THE CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD CRACK (NO DENTS OR PLACES WHERE SOMETHING MIGHT HAVE HIT MY CAR). THE CRACK INITIATED FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND EXTENDED ABOUT 6-8 INCHES FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD.

AT 300 MILES, COMING OFF HIGHWAY, SLOWED DOWN TO 5 MPH AND WENT THRU TOLL BOOTH. I THEN STEPPED ON GAS, HAD HESITATION, NO RESPONSE THEN ACCELERATION. HAPPENED AGAIN ON 5/11/15 WHEN I HAD 900 MILES. CAME OFF HIGHWAY ON TO LOCAL STREETS. THIS TIME HAD 5-7 BIG HESITATIONS OVER 10 MINUTE PERIOD. VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE I WAS MAKING A U-TURN AND CAR HESITATED THEN ACCELERATED AS I WAS MAKING U-TURN !! RETURNED CAR TO DEALER. DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL FIXED.

I THINK THERE IS A POTENTIAL RECALL PROBLEM WITH EYESIGHT-EQUIPPED 2015 LEGACY MODELS. I TOOK MY CAR IN SEVERAL WEEKS AGO BECAUSE ONE DAY ALL OF THE HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON, INCLUDING THE ABS LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT (FLASHING RED) ON THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE, THE EYESIGHT AND THE ANTI-SKID LIGHT ON THE CENTER CONSOLE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT, AND THE LANE DEPARTURE LIGHT ON THE TACHOMETER. I STOPPED DRIVING IT FOR TWO DAYS WHILE I WAITED FOR MY SERVICE APPOINTMENT DAY TO ARRIVE. THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME BACK ON WHEN I DROVE IT TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT KEPT MY CAR FOR A DAY AND SAID THAT THE LIGHTS MUST HAVE COME ON AS AN "ATTENTION GETTING DEVICE" TO ALERT ME THAT THE CAR WAS ABOUT A QUART LOW ON OIL (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT QUITE YET TIME FOR MY 6 MONTH/6,000 MILE OIL CHANGE). AFTER GETTING THE RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE, I DROVE THE CAR WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THIS PAST WEEKEND, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. ALL OF THE LIGHTS MENTIONED ABOVE CAME ON AND STAYED ON WHEN I STARTED IT AND PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE. BASED ON MY LAST EXPERIENCE, I DROVE THE CAR ANYWAY. LATER IN THE DAY, WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON AGAIN, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ONCE AGAIN CAME ON AND STAYED ON, EXCEPT THAT THIS TIME THE BRAKE AND THE ABS LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED. THE CAR CAN BE DRIVEN, BUT CRUISE CONTROL AND ASSOCIATED FEATURES (LANE DEPARTURE, ETC.) DO NOT WORK WHEN THESE LIGHTS ARE ON. AFTER DRIVING THE CAR WITH THESE LIGHTS ON ALL DAY SATURDAY (INCLUDING SEVERAL COMPLETE SHUTDOWNS FOLLOWED BY RESTARTS AN HOUR OR TWO LATER), THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED THE NEXT DAY, JUST AS IT DID LAST MONTH. I TOOK PICTURES OF MY DASH BOTH TIMES WHEN THE LIGHTS CAME ON THIS PAST WEEKEND. I CAN SUPPLY THEM ON REQUEST. IT HAS ONLY BEEN A FEW WEEKS AND 1000 MILES OR SO SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE, SO I THINK WE CAN RULE OUT THAT EXPLANATION.
